Hello Helpers. Got me a Sreamdeck XL. I am partly successful in setting it up for a flight simulator.
HOWEVER using Hotkey Switch i get weird results. The L modified L-Shift combinations register OK and works OK like in "L-Shift+F".
But modified L-Alt and L-Ctrl register OK as in L-Alt+G and L-Ctrl+G, do not send out the button's result to my game. Is this a Windows 10 issue Streamdeck XL cannot cope with? If you had the choice between a shure sm7b and an hmd27, which would you take?

It’s about the use case. The headset mic is designed for noisy environments, like announcers at a crowd. Proximity is creating a larger separation from the background sound. And the headset is designed to isolate a lot of outside sound from the crowd in the ear cups, too.

SM7b (or any pro-level mic) will be better from a tone perspective, head to head, in a quiet room.

And if you’re right on top of the mic, like dynamics are designed to be used, there wouldn’t be a huge rejection difference either.
Again, the headset form factor is the issue.
Broadcast use this so they can turn their head and the mic always 1 inch away.

And never open on a stand

SM7B is also made to be fiddled with, it frankly sounds quite bad out of the box without compression, EQ etc

I think it also depends if you’re listening in solo.
Should never eq while listening in solo.
It has a strong presence bump.
In a mix, especially rock or metal… I usually add some top end wide bell around 10k and that’s it.
But if I listened in solo I bet I’d do all kinds of weird things to make it sound less honky

(The secret is you probably don’t need it to sound less honky, haha)

Yeah since it's got a pretty similar "modularity" to the stand It probably isn't more difficult than getting one for the +. It'll probably take a bit if they haven't started yet as they'd still need to change the design to work with the mk2 & from what I remember before I gave it to my sister the sideways connector but shouldn't be impossible afaik. That does assume that they're willing to make a full lineup of these for all/more of their products.

I think they at least started with the + because it's already got a few extra features (like the touch screen swiping thing & the knobs) which would be easier to "integrate" a Wave XLR into since it's got the knobs and stuff to do the functionality of the Wave XLR's physical buttons.

Yes, pretty much any USB device should be fine through it - though for video devices it's preferred to avoid docks when possible, and Stream Decks genrally work best in true USB 2.0 ports if available

you could, but its recommended that you plug them directly into your computer rather than daisychaining them

That is preferred - especically if the PC has USB 2.0 ports specifically.

But if you HAVE to use a hub, the official one is likely a contender for better compatibility.
Just be careful running too many video devices through it as it still caps at 5 Gbps for all connected devices, and you can starve out a video device if it's on a hub with too many other devices using high bandwidth

Uses the same 75 dB pre-amp as the full Wave XLR from what I understand so should be fine for a SM7B (which is recommended to need ~60 usually).

You'd control it through the Stream Deck app, so you could assign one of the dials for gain and mute similar to the Wave XLR's big dial. No capacitive mute though, you'd set it up and push in a Stream Deck+ dial to mute iirc.

Based on rules of 8's the jack base is 16 Ohm, so ideally I'd keep it under 128 for the headphones. I've seen people get 250 Ohm headsets running on it, though some report perfectly fine and others report a bit too quiet, depending on the model.

You would need both apps, for all features, yes.

I believe they have an EU shipping center - they ship from wherever Corsair does.

Also you should be able to set mulitple knobs like that, between Wave Link and the Volume Controller in Stream Deck (assuming you're on Windows)

Yes - they're looking into it. This only affects you if you're using a Stream Deck+ to activate Wave Link. If you have something else like a Wave:3 or Wave XLR it should be fine. Would also LOVE to see StreamDeck Mobile parity come to Android. Sick of seeing unnecessary limitations on apps. SnapChat purposely records the camera feed on Android instead of using the raw data, Sonos make the account owner of the devices sign in even if you are on the network of the device. I used the AudioTechnica AT2020 XLR before this, and yeah, large diafragm condenser, it picked up EVERYTHING xD even the neighbors doing stuff in the kitchen etc

Had to use a very aggressive noisegate and basically eat the mic to get rid of all the background 😛

I'd say it's best use case is for functions in scenarios where your hands are 100% occupied and you can't visit the stream deck in whatever rotation you're in. For instance, if you really need to mute your mic in a fight, or you want to mark highlights in your stream in the middle of the fight. If that's valuable to you, then the pedal is worthwhile.

Took me a moment to realize you meant Stream Deck Mk2 and not Facecam Mk2. Really depends on how many buttons you need, for the most part. Though Neo does make it easiet to flip through pages, there are some things where you might want the 15 buttons of Mk2 all at once instead of the pages of 8.

The scarlet is an xlr mic preamp.
Wave 3 is a usb mic; it has a built in preamp and headphone amp. You don’t need the Scarlett if you have a wave3. Just connect it to the computer alone.

The thing is I am working with Linux for the past 5 years on my development machine as main OS.

As of recently I moved to Fedora 40 (Debian based) on my gaming machine then to CACHY OS (Arch Linux based) and I have no intention to return to windows again. All games work almost out of the box on Steam OS Proton and in generally.

I would kindly ask if ELGATO is going to make an effort in the near future, and if so, when, to port teh app to Linux and support at least 2 major distros, Debian and Arch based?

Try a different macro plugin like BarRaider's Super macro (if you're on Windows). It has ability to script or the macros and edit them, including things like specifically using right and left modifiers. Beyond that it would be a question for #stream-deck

what's the pro's and con's of using of "Hotkey Switch" versus "Filter" in Stream deck? because I have a Move it filter that my camera goes Left or Right. So instead of having to occupy two buttons in my stream deck I tried to assign Hot key and used the "Hotkey Switch" instead, but... I noticed that sometimes when pressing the Hotkey switch it's not moving. especially if the Elgato app is minimize or if im on a different application.

Technically Cloudfront can push the error message "The Amazon CloudFront distribution is configured to block access from your country." So strange that it doesn't.

I believe this is due to Kuwaits relations with Hizballah, since Corsair/Elgato operate from US Soil they have to restrict their services to these nations due to embargos placed on other nations by Federal Government for acts they have done/breakdown in relations, etc.

It could just be a 403 error, they did have them a few days ago to people who didn't live in those countries.

Hello, i have a question. I have a facecam pro and used to be able to use like silly filters etc. Now its telling me to use EPOCAM PRO (and buy it) and use my phone as the cam. Are these features just gone from the software? (Im on a mac using latest camerahub)

I believe the two work separately, but I also think the face cam can be put as a widget on the stream deck so you can modify settings! I haven't used the face cam in forever, but I do believe that was an option.

how do you do the multi action switch? normally what i understand about multi action it will program a spewcific button to do steps right away, but I need a switch/button that I can press like a on/off button for my Left/right cam placement. I though the "hotkey switch" will work, but it does only work if "Elgato app" is selected/focused, but once you have focused to the other program it does not work, very weird. the Hotkey switch does not work if im actually using a different program

multiaction switchs are just hotkey switches essentially, but they do actions rather then hotkeys. BUT can do the hotkey action from elgato too.

You essentially create the multiaction switch and put your right filter action on one state.

and then go to the other state and put the left filter action

It does the actions in the one state on one press and then on the next press does the other actions in the other state.

i see, it's weird this is the first time I saw the multi action switch. sounds interesting. I will check on this one. thanks buddy. but I hope it works. because im not sure why the "Hotkey swich" only works if "Elgato app" is opened" do you know why? my boud hotkey to the "hot keyswitch" is the same hotkey in my OBS for a specific filter.

The multi action switch is amazing, I use it to toggle between two obs scenes when recording. So I can say go from full screen to like game capture and back with just one button without having to press each scenes visibility to toggle it on or off.

AFAIK No. Its a cold shoe. Its designed to go on a camera.
The master mount has a 1/4" screw which is what most equipment attaches to.
