Keep in mind as well that this is a device that connects to a wireless adapter that uses the power - it does not connect to a PC ARGB header or draw power from a PC in any way. Hence separate power.

Well to be specific, I was referring to the power supply which feeds 24v into the controller which handles all the animation and light control and then controls the LEDs from there, which is always another power conversion process.

My only thought is that it's using pairs of smaller lines for the typical 3 circuits of ARGB instead of 3 wide ones. Not sure how that's better, however... typically DC does better with a thicker wire.

hello, just to say elgato wave link is the worst device i've never bought. It literally bug every single week and reset my whole configuration, it's really insane, i've checked reddit and people talk about the same problems even 3 years before

everytime i take 1 hour to install back everything

and i don't mention when nothing is resetted the 48V fantom activate itself everyday

this is full bugged and i'm working in the streaming since years so don't tell me "it comes from your pc"

The actual problems here would be better put in the #wave-audio channel. Sounds like the Wave XLR (or whatever Wave mic or Stream Deck+ you had) could be causing trouble with the USB bus.

This is not the Elgato Chat Link Pro - we couldn't say for certain what another company does with their wire. Odds are it will not though - Chat Link Pro doesn't split headset mics largely because they're unamplified and a different voltage than the line out of the controller. Splitting them could cause distortion or volumes issues in some setups, and it's a passive cable so it can't amp up the voltage to merge the mic with the main audio feed. As a result you're very unlikely to find ANY passive cable that does that kind of split. Consider a desktop mic like Wave Neo instead - better quality audio than a headset and you can mute is independant of your game chat if you need to. This is the most common solution for mixing your voice back into the audio.

Depends on what version of Thunderbolt and what Version of USB. EG, USB 3.2 Gen 2 tops at 10 Gbps. USB 3.0 or 3.x Gen 1 tops at 5. Thunderbolt 3 is like 20 to 40 depending on setup. USB 4 is like 40-80 with some even higher specs in the wings.

HDMI Switcher only swaps the connected device, it doesn't do any cloning. Lets you switch between multiple connected devices. We don't genreally recommend them unless you really need one - some can interfere with capture card setups, so mileage may vary.

what will the future of an elgato stream deck look like, apart from controlling it? i was just thinking about it and came up with the idea that in theory you could also use an elgato to put ingame hud information completely on an elgato and display it there in order to have a hud-free gaming experience on the game monitor. i'm thinking of games like red dead redamtion or gta. would be a cool thing, wouldn't it? but it would certainly be a huge programming effort.

both those are the same. it all depends if you want to expand later to more functions. i have had my 15 button for years. since the last update mine is not working properly. even before the update though they are finiky. they sometimes refuse to work and sometimes they have a stupid delay when you press buttons. imho its unreliable at best. but it does work 80% of the time.

Hello guys,I intend to start a youtube channel were i play and review ps2 and ps3 games, so naturally the game recorder has to be ideal for ps2/ps3 game recording. I am aware that elgato doesnt provide you with everything you need ( for exaple a ps2 adaptor to turn the wires into hdmi ) and also that some people experience black screens, low frames and no audio problems. So i am kindly asking for assistance and guidance on deciding on which elgato game capture device i need and on what extra parts i need for the completion of the setup. Depends on your budget and your size. I'm 6'8" and 320lbs and generally break most office chairs after a short period of time. I invested in the SecretLab Titan EVO XL. It's rated at up to 395lbs and 6'9". I've had mine for 3 years now and love it. I probably sit in it between 10 and 12 hours a day and it's always comfortable. The one catch is, it isn't cheap. Most models start just above $500 USD and the XL is $569 USD. They currently have a Fathers Day Sale still going on that can be up to $100 on select models. Last but not least if you post a picture of your chair after purchase on social media and send them the link they will extend the warranty to 5 years.

Gaming chairs are a rip off. Secret lab is about the only one thats not pure garbage. I would just get an office chair. It really does depend on your budget though.

other than that I would recommend one of the hundreds of youtube videos doing tutorials and showcasing how they make use of their Streamdecks to their full potential

There's two outputs for Wave Link, Monitor and Stream Mix, the stream hears the Stream Mix and you hear Monitor, you'd have to use a Dial stack to switch between monitor and stream mix and adjust levels on each or mute them

Hi folks. I need a wee bit of help. I'm using the camera hub to tweak the webcam settings but after hitting the collapse preview button and then open OBS the webcam is still not showing up.

Ok...have got it showing up, but the video qauality is terrible. If I'm running the camera hub shouldn't OBS show the webcam quality via that and not just through itself?

Try manually setting your resolution in OBS for the camera. For some models OBS tries to default them to the lowest available (eg 540p) for some reason.

Before I buy some soundproof Elgato Wave Panels and a off brand wall panel, is it a good idea to mount the Wave Panels onto a "off-brand" thick 18 inch wall panel to block out the noise entirely so other people can't hear me talking from the other room? (just know that I found one for $60).

Wave panels are not "soundproof". They are sound dampening to help stop sounds from echoing off your wall back to your mic.

Yeah, expand on that, “soundproof” is not really a thing. Reducing reflections in your room will help your mic sound good in your room, but it would take a ton of acoustic treatment to reduce the sound level to a point where there was noticeably less transmission to other rooms.
What stops sound transmission is mass and changes in materials, because sound looses energy in materials that resist vibrating and when it has to change from one medium to another.
So thick, heavy walls, and air gaps between them. That’s how you stop sound

Hello, can anyone help me. I cannot get my Elgato game capture HD (orginal) to work on my pc though it works on my laptop, which seemingly isnt powerful enough to stream my xbox.

My capture card is showing up under other devices instead of sound video and game controllers in device manager as they previously were before i unistalled it from there and the drivers are not working after reinstalling many times and rebooting.

It previously showed under sound/vid/controllers untill i uninstalled it and the drivers from device manage because it was not showing in obs, now not recognized at all.

I'm not, but more options are always good. I previousy owned the DT770 and people compared that to the ATH50x, but says DT770 is better.. though honestly, atm. I am just on some HyperX Cloud III and there is no noticeable difference doing gaming etc.

Yeah the biggest difference will be the mic, and not even that wireless headsets have to have crappy mics, but they don’t dedicate enough of the bandwidth to the mic audio so it gets a major downgrade.

My Cloud III is not wireless, in any case, that is not entirely true anymore. The best microphone I've ever heard (and not just headset mic) is on the new Logitech Astro 50X... damn that was good, the audio was very "meh" though... but that microphone was truly amazing.

My day job is as a recording engineer so I have, and have used mics in a totally different category, quality wise. But as far as speech during gameplay or just voiceover, if you think that headset mic can compete with real pro dynamics, or condensers in a treated room, I’m interested…
