Some games simply dont allow third party applications to input into them.
Other times the game opened elevated and you need to run stream deck as admin. However you should not be doing that.

Why's there no official streamdeck software for Linux?

There's several reasons, but it mainly boils down to low marketshare of users which in turn would cost more to develop and keep updated than what they would earn from it.

Also the developerteam is small in size

(especially since you have to make your own software from scratch if you want to use the streamdeck+)

It's incredibly frustrating to be stuck with 15 buttons on my android device but 32 buttons (or more) on my other devices.

I stream (a lot) and I have literally 6 touch screens with more than 200 buttons. The fact that one of them is stuck with 15 on a device that is so much easier to update than iOS... just seems... well - deliberately cringe.

In the process of preparing for content creation, the most time consuming part (for me) is online research on the setup and comparison of gear and software. The second most time is needed for setting up the software in Windows, as well as trial and error with gear, that doesn't meet the content creator's needs. Once, everything is up and running, most of the time is spent for video editing, thumbnails and so forth, if this isn't outsourced.

Officially no - the Elgato App is iOS. Unofficially - maybe. The card is a UVC based card - if streaming apps exist for Android that could use a UVC source it'd likely work. It wouldn't be officially supported if you hit issues though, you'd have to talk to whoever makes the app.

Oh sorry I misread. Extensions are certainly a little hit or miss depending on the quality. I have used 2meter extensions before, Amazonbasics with good results. but those were 3.0 rated.

Unfortunately a bit difficult to give an official recommendation on length. Running it through a USB Hub for a bit more reach may provide an improvement.

USB 3.0 needs an active repeater past about 2-3 meters (as you get close to 10 ft or so). USB 2 goes to 5 Meters. USB 4 goes to 0.8. Basically faster the standard shorter the cable you can go without repeating the signal. If you need a long cable you'll need to either boost it with a hub, or use an active cable that has a repeater inside. Mileage varies with hubs and such, but if you need more length than you can get with a regular passive cable it's the only way to go.

Keep an eye on reviews. We don't normally suggest hubs and active cables becaus occasionally there will be compatibility issues, but I've known people to setup with them, and if you have to get the extra distance there aren't many, if any other options. Good luck with it! (and don't forget to get one that's rated for 3.0/3.1/3.2 or faster (5Gbps +)

What do you mean specifically? Wave Neo will work fine with most computers (and other devices that will take a USB mic). Though to get the most out of it you'll want Wave Link which would require a PC or Mac.

Oh it ships with an adapter, so should be good with just about any arm

For me the thing I struggle most with some days is Motivation. Been off/on doing content for 10 years, started over a few years back. I love making videos when I can. I really want to stream more. But deal with a very rare disorder called Episodic Ataxia. So some days its impossible for me to do things constantly. And every time i upload or stream I wonder if I am doing it right or just having self doubts. But sometimes when I get these positive comments or a video does pretty good, I feel better and get like an adrenaline rush of motivation 🙂

For advice i'd say dont focus on numbers and just do it because you enjoy it 🙂 Also try to block out toxicity (unless thats your thing i guess lol) and have control of your community 🙂

Found this on a reddit post from Elgato_Phil
this happens when the HD60 X is getting an input resolution (Let’s say, 1080P) and you added it to OBS Studio. In OBS Studio you configured it to outpu 4K. This would require HD60 X to upscale 1080p To 4K, which it cannot do.

I suggest double checking the resolution being output by your Xbox, and the resolution the software you're using is configured for.

Like say you have a plugin for a clock to show on a button, it's visually helpful but does nothing functionally, and inversely a folder button is useful functionally but visually useless... if function and visual could be split, it would be a massive improvement in flexibility

I figure it could be something like a multi action, but you can only fit 2 actions in there. The first being what you see, the second being what you get when pressed

Well to my understanding the deck itself has no storage, all the stuff is stored in the software in your computer. That said, I’m not certain, I just skimmed the article

Well...seems that I cannot understand this streamerbot thing. Have been trying the instructions for it but I don't see things like Sub-Action.

Wasn't able to get this done

In Streamer.bot:
Create a new Action, we will call ours Update Stream Deck Background
Add a new Sub-Action, Stream Deck -> Set Background
Paste the Button ID copied from Stream Deck into the Button ID field.

Oooh - is there like a desktop app for doing that?

Found the app. Followed the instructions for it and it changes/does nothing.
