The HDMI is still directional because of the circuitry and the fact it's a client/host connection. In this case the Adapter to get HDMI in IS a capture card.
If you don't have one, you can try using the Playstation remote play app and capturing that in OBS, but it won't be quite as high quality as a capture card feed, and may have some additional small latency depending on your network (usually it works well enough though, as long as PSN isn't having issues).

Fun thought process. With the new card, I could put my existing 4k60 pro into my main PC and plug other things into that while the new card still captures my main PC display, which could be used to full screen capture.

So, the PC into the new 2.1 card and the PS5 into the old capture card (I don't have an HDMI 2.1 monitor or TV anyways) in the main PC to be then recaptured for streaming and recording by the 2.1 card.

All audio for my dual PC setup is routed to the streaming PC

Audio is outputing from the main PC to the streaming PC via optical cable and sound cards.

From there my mix create mixes that into the audio channels for an audience out.

Just look up something like the goxlr and you'd be set. Should be easy to follow and won't be as complicated as mine is.

Buying the GoXLR now would feel like i'd be buying something outdated that if problems arise they wont be fixed easily

Thats sorta not how this works. The capture card does not care about how graphically intense a game is. That does not change the capture quality.

High motion games, resolution and frame rate impact the video encoding quality when recording in 4K Capture Utility or streaming in OBS Studio.

So the 4k Pro can capture 4k 60 if you're gaming at 8k 60 but if you're gaming at 4k 120 it can only capture 1080p? The 4k x will do better but is limited to 4k 30 capture? I verified this on the website where it tells you what you can capture based on what you're doing. Eposvox also confirmed this by saying the pcie card is using the same hardware as last Gen but new hardware for the pass through so it can't scale properly. Is this going to be fixed at all? Because at the moment that makes this card very last Gen overall especially with Twitch on the cusp of releasing enhanced Broadcasting which makes streaming in 4k 60 a real possibility. I currently stream at 1440p 60 so already this is not viable. I was hoping this would be a better release than the new avermedia card but that can pass through up to 4k 144 hdr and will capture 4k 60. This seems like a pretty significant problem but nobody is addressing it properly? Am I missing something?

This is a hardware limit on the 4K Pro to support increased resolutions and frame rate of 8K60 and 4K240. There is no way to add 4K120 capture with a 4K120 signal via a firmware update.

If you need 4K144, 4K120, 4K660, 1440p144, 1440p120, 1440p60 capture I suggest looking at 4K X. It seems to do everything you need. It is not limited to 4K30 capture

Thank you for the reply! I'm looking for 4k 60 capture with 4k 120 pass through, this is available on the avermedia card. It is not on the elgato 4kpro and in the 4k X on the website it says 4K 30 for hdr capture when I input those settings. It does say sdr up to 4k 120 capture would that mean that if I play in hdr it could tone map to sdr and capture at that resolution? I'm sorry to mention avermedia I'm actually hoping to replace their card with elgato. I'm also wondering if you plan on releasing a pcie card that out performs the X since the X seems to have better capture capabilities on the capture side?

Absolutely Not!! Stream deck has so many purposes, that it is never weird to buy it only to use in Discord

No, I don't only use my stream deck for streaming, I use it for discord to change channel, mute or deafen myself, soundboard or to switch my mic from wave 3 to headset if I need to be away from my pc for a bit (wireless headset) I also use it for eurotruck simulator, spotify, modding for other people and I have a button on every page to clip funny gameplay with steelseries moments. A streamdeck has endless possibilities and I think I use it more when I'm not streaming than if I am streaming

I am actually saving up for a streamdeck XL because I don't have enough buttons on 1 page 🤣

Hey all, I got a question. I have a Yeti Blue USB mic. I use OBS for streaming. I've setup my mic with a bunch of audio filters to clean up the sound, etc. Works great. I also use discord, MS Teams, browser based video conference apps, etc. Because of this, my mic has no filters or anything applied in those apps so the sound is garbage. I'd like the get a Stream Deck for obvious reasons, but what I'm not clear on is if it has the ability to apply/control audio filters for my mic and apply them for all the apps I use? I know there hardware based solutions but they can be $$, so I'm curious if Stream Deck can help?

Also that's not quite input lag - that's video decode latency and render time. It feels like input lag because the video you're reacting to is behind, but true input lag is when the actual input from a controller is delayed.

Data bandwidth and decode latency are not necessarily related though. Like I said it's a new chipset inside, even if it has more data bandwidth to use, it doesn't make it decode/re-encode HDMI any faster.
