you burn them and butterflies appear, you will be prompted to do the butterfly emote and they land, transferring the dyes

then your dye jars will fill up and you keep going to free more butterflies

so it's essentially similar to regular candle forging but with dyes and you forge jars
it's also shared across people you have piggybacked/handheld with, as long as the leader collects the dyes, the rest of the group will get the same reward

because I've tried with a friend if they got the dyes (they're on top) I don't end up getting the full reward
so it's better for the person at the base to collect

don't know how this applies for higher stacks though

For me it definitely is, since I've played all of those seasons already, I only need to tap my new wing buffs and I'm done Now, about Radiance, I still feel it's really fun and I love finding big plants with 2 kilometers of vines but I have to say I am a little bit burnout from so much plant burning and flying everywhere I don't know if other beta testers feel the same way? That's why I'm really glad we can have a longer break period before the grind starts in Live so we don't need to stress about both

I actually find it really enjoyable because dyes have significantly less stress than doing CR for cosmetics
candles are used in so many aspects of the game and dyes are just always there so you have time

like how to say, it scratches a new routeing itch because your brain is tuned into looking for dye plants instead of things that give you wax

and I get so excited when I can find one of the mega bois it's like YES GIVE IT TO ME

I'm extremely burnt out on this game overall and have been playing other games to try and help with it but to give my look on it: I think the dye plants are not fun when we already have to candle run and worry about all these other expenses. It's only going to get worse and worse, to the point there could be a surge of players dropping the game for good.

Yes, it's always going to be there, but you know what else is going to be always there? Nesting and constellations. And then the fact that these limited time seasons and events will drain you faster than the dark water and rain in Hidden Forest combined.

Everything has become buy or miss out so much now that it's making it not so new player friendly. I feel horrible for all these new players now more than hoping they have a pleasant stay, because let's be real: this game will continue to evolve, but at the rate it's going in my opinion I feel like it's becoming more pressuring for both new and old players.

Honestly that's just my take, and I know not everyone will agree with me. But for what it's worth, the game has better feedback being implemented, at least.

I think the dye plants will add more into the exploration aspect of the game, I'm already well used to my usual cr routes that gives me 15 candles a day so every day I tend to finish the game very quickly and have nothing else to do aside from music practicing xD
So finding the specific colours in the specific realms would be more fun, like I'm loving the fact that certain colours are found more in one area than others, thus making it easier to plan the routes rather than darkness plants which is literally everywhere

I think what stressed me a bit is that I uber and do Live stuff on a daily basis, helping as many ppl as I can, and I also do beta stuff on top of that. It's possible that everything combined tired me a little. Once season starts in Live I'll also feel inclined to add dyes cr to an already stablished routine with memorized schedules which I can't help to worry about

I know I'll be alright, and that omg I'll have so much fun especially getting dyes in eden cuz I love that realm so much but I also do worry about players realizing "oh...we **also **have to grind for colors... everywhere". Even if you remind them they don't have to, they don't listen they want everything as soon as possible cuz the *fomo * is so strong in this game

I have a feeling I might explore the Wind Paths more often rather than using it as mere shortcuts to the realms, like I genuinely love the area but sometimes I forgot to explore there

No but, plant burning its a really good idea. It's so smart also to make the vines sensitive to deep-call. Not only it makes the job easier (and possible to burn them even if they get in cracks or glitch under the floor) but it also calls other players to come help

Rough idea of a thought for feedback and wondering how folk would receive it.

What if we could buy dyes for hearts or candles?
Like spells from the Enchantment shop, I would find that useful, but as an extension, in the dye preview if you had setup a look but didn't have the dyes to unlock it, that you could buy the missing dyes there for hearts or candles to allow you to unlock it.
I can see that as potentially a nice ease of use thing so you don't need to remember the exact combination and amount of dyes you need.
But I worry that it may seem like scummy upselling and further perceived "greed".
So wondering if you would see a "buy dyes" button as a good or bad thing, more ease of use or scummy microtransactional upselling?

Ascended candles would have less of an issue with the micro transaction point since those can’t be bought as IAPs, though I usually prefer having a choice of currencies to choose from so it’s not as restrictive

Plants that spawn in will be random, but they're still going to have specific colors depending on which realm you go to.

So for the black and white dye, it's best to go to flight paths because it has all colors. That's cuz flight is connected to all realms

I was thinking that like. every clothing item could have 2 dye slots, like before, but if you wanted to you could move a dye slot from one piece of clothing to another, if that makes sense.
Like, lets say I dont think I'll ever dye mellow's cape. I could move the 2 dye slots onto something id like to dye, like. idk. radiance mask!

You can't dye a cosmetic (or at least capes) completely, for example juggler and snowflake cape get a gradient of their og color and the dye you want

Pants give more liberty but it's mostly the shirt or small details

The dyes do only color specific sections like Star mentioned, but also you only can get up to 2 different dyed versions too. You also still keep the original colors too, so you can always swap back to the og whenever you want!

The plants are in the vault archives but the rate of finding black & white are very low in there. You'll have higher chances of finding them in prairies, forest, wind paths and wastelands.

They are the same spirits, but presumably they'll still have separate wing buffs since they're giving new cosmetics and emotes as well. It's more like, story wise, they're the same spirits, but it's not really

Also I don't think the season is all that bad. I'm excited for it to come to live personally. But ofc, not everything will cater to everyone's tastes!

It's more like, we're seeing old friends with new upgrades imo! Not necessarily recycled. It's not the first time we've had seasons tie into other seasons before. Rhythm and performance are tied together because the guides are twins, as an example

I dont think this ""reuse"" is even bad , the hardest part is to make the emotes and cosmetics. trying to fix anything in sky is messing with a jenga tower tree and making sure it doesn't fully collapse

Aurora cape, Anubis mask, Bear mask, Moomin plush, Revival cape, nesting prop, Refuge prop. I like when ults are cohesive, yet unique. They don't feel like they blend into the season's other cosmetics. The moomin plush is a great example. A unique shape with great use. The refuge prop is relaxing, it is very different than to the season's other items, but it somehow fits that lonesome vibe. The Anubis (prophecy) ult is a leader's mask. A mask that shows it SHOULD stand out, and should be seen as important. The bear mask, is similar, as it also has the tassels. The aurora cape is a unique item. The revival cape is the first time we see a cape have an interesting function, and i hope they continue to do so.

I do not like it though, when ults feel boring and useless. Ults should either work as a good accessory to add on that's interesting (refuge neckpiece, flight feathers etc.) or an item that shows "I am important, look at me". the Radiance cape almost hit that point, but it is lacking. There's a lack of detail to it that I do not like, sure it has the golden bits, but so do all the other capes in the season.... I was fully expecting the tapestry prop to become an ult with a fun function like idk, a mobile dye shop where u can change your items' colours if u placed it down.

I wonder if narratively, if the Guide was a performer like the Gratitude spirits, the cape maybe would've been more ornate. Maybe had some sort of light halo effect like the mask does. But since the Guide is only a dye-maker, maybe thats the reason the cape is more simple/humble in comparison to the other capes? (Although, the mask is pretty fancy..so maybe I'm wrong )

Nope, all colours are available for everybody, but with the pass you get access to the locked items in the spirit trees as usual - some of these in beta have been dye jars, things may change in live so best to wait and see! But you can get dye from running through the realms
