it's mostly the mentality of the players that shape the gameplay, especially for the ones who grind on daily basis in every realm to keep up with the events and seasons

but the reality is that nobody is forced to buy everything shocking, I know, it's mostly who plays this way that makes the game about grinding when it really is not

and honestly, it's also fault on the game itself for having an event after another, leaving no room for free time (but even so, that free time turns into "time to do candle run") and everyone feels pressured to grind

I personally dropped that mentality and enjoy the game and its event when I feel like it, at the end of the day its just cosmetics

everyone is free to do as they please though, as long as nobody forgets to take breaks and avoid over-doing

I don’t do it anymore, but I am glad I did, sometimes I can’t play for more than 5 mins now so I am glad that I have a pile of candles ready for any ts or group coming my way

a friend of mine gave me a tip about trials

aka to do trials before closing the game

you pick one to finish and teleport home from (and avoid going in other Realms, you need to save it as a "check point") and the next day upon reset you can return there with the statue and have big candles starting of already

I usually pick either fire or wind since they are the ones with more big candles at the end

Once you reach the hard cap of 21.5-22 ish you can't collect wax anymore, that's what they meant by your candle going grey.
(Although your candle goes grey at 20 candles, the last 1-2 ish are extremely tedious)

No timer, you can collect from there any time. I think I've heard hitting the 250 wax cap at a bonfire takes 30-40 minutes.

It's not exactly correct, but it conveys the point that the game is trying to get you to stop at that point

I think due to how the code is for sky, when they added DoSunlight, it completely just destroyed half of sky /hj
Someone mentioned how sky is coded in a weird way where it's coding is extremely sensitive (hence the unbelievable amount of bugs that can take ages to fix, mechanics that have never worked properly, or weren't able to be implemented (example of this is how the camera ult from moments was meant to shimmer when you're in the screen of snapping a photo, but it wasn't coded properly and fixing it can cause hell to break loose, so it's best to leave it)
It's kinda like how (apparently ) undertale is coded in a HORRIFYING way, like one wrong move and it's over, but it still managed to work. The problem is that sky is constantly updated, so a single symbol of code can cause the entire game to implode on itself (cough, the duets second quest crash bug )

You can actually pause that by turning the music in the sky settings all the way off! I prefer the lowest possible pitch but there's many other pitches you can set it to! There's a guide for it but I don't remember where it is, aside from the wiki
Keeping sound effects and instruments on doesn't change anything, just lowering the game music to off can stop the pitch where it's at for instruments!

I think making participation in the tournament a daily quest contributed to the competition falling flat since a lot of players just started a game and sat there doing nothing for their daily quest.

I've seen many things like this happen and the moment the players realize the horrible power imbalance, it's over, and in comes the most irritated, tired, and defeated players who are giving their thoughts on how unfair it was (who end up getting "clowned" on by the team winning by a longshot)

Well the game is and isn’t working it works then it breaks then it works again so shutting it down would mean players couldn’t get their dailies and tgc would have to issue compensation. And tgc is very stingy with compensation

I’m gonna ramble my horse was so cute today so I got to the farm the minute I get out of the car to do the gate he sees me and starts walking over, then he’s cantering and then running bucking and kicking tossing his head being all happy and silly comes right up to me let’s me pat him then he runs off again bucking and kicking. I drive up the driveway and get out the car I turn around and I see him galloping full speed towards me he reaches me and keeps his distance like a gentleman and is being silly again kicking and bucking, we walk up to his shed he goes in then comes out and stands outside away from me while I make his food. Which he usually would crowd me and be bratty but not today he was such a gentleman I’m so over the moon about it it made my day 100% better

Then when I put his food in his trough went out to call him over he came straight to me first for pats then I sent him in for his food like oh my god how precious is that
