From what I know of! There's not much difference to the sound. It's like the iap guitar from Harmony Hall vs the pleaful guitar, it's purely aesthetic choice of colors/looks pretty to match with certain cosmetics.

if you go for 20 candles a day it’s 10 days of candle runs. if you do 18 (best for not getting burnt out imo) it’s ~12 days. If you do 15 it’s ~14 days, and then if you do 10 it’s 20 days. Still expensive but eh, it’s permanently available

a thing that helped me with fomo is to make a priority list
wait for the things you really want to come and save up for those, only go for the less important things if you have spare candles

okay imma sound real old rn but my 18 candles a day I do now with just two realms + VoD + granny & geyser one time each used to be a run through 4 full realms (I did Prairie, Forest, Valley and Vault)

I do far prefer candle running in Sky nowadays compared to back then, though I do agree prices can be a bit absurd.

Keep an eye out on #looking-for-group-live - there's usually a bunch of friendly CR ubers that take along people, and you can tag along, and learn routing for candle running yourself

There are also special events that give a lot of wax, up to a chevrons worth each, those being granny, turtle, and geyser which you can find the localized times of here https://sky-clock.netlify.app, once you show up on time it's lots of wax! With all of these getting 15 becomes a breeze, and you can always push for more at your own pace :>

I'd recommend to look out for black shards (using this tool: https://sky-shards.pages.dev/en) as they give four candle-cakes worth of wax.

Dear diary. Today, I talked to a kind spirit at the cofee shop. He said "bring me 30 lights" so, For him, I visited a prairie and took the light of all the candles on my way. After the expedition I brought him the light and he said "bring me 30 more". I gave him all the light in the valley, he always wanted more.
If someone find those words, I'll surely be exploring the world and collecting all the light to make the kind spirit happy.

season passes can be pretty tight (you have a few chances to be inactive but if you dont play every day you may not get everything which is unsatisfying imo

and we go to eden to get as many ascended candles as possible
