Pretty tired today to do anything else. So I logged into Sky after few days of inactivity. Jumped onto Hidden Forest and some strangers tried to lit me up, presumably for daily quests. I ended up adding them and they took me for dailies 🥺

I didn’t get the crabs in Forest, so I went to Wasteland by myself to flip some crabs. As I was about to teleport home, I got charged by a crab and my WL went . Two chibis rushed to lit me up and helped me recharge. I love this community 🥺

I think it’s a different kind of harm at least in principle. Rainwater hurts skids because water extinguishes flame, which the skids are made of. And dark water in gw harms skids because of its corrupting nature and skids are made of pure light stuff

True. The game is designed that way. Where hackers get all the cosmetics on their fingertips, rest players have to grind like hell , even takes 3-4 hours to get 20-22 candles. Now it's even more painstaking and time taking without grandma. I think this makes the game cruel , focused on getting more candles with having no time for interactions with other players . People are kind, but many are forced to go on bcs of this grind pressure situation

As for candle grinding for multiple hours a day : i recommend checking out the wiki's "daily light" page to understand how candles work so you can cut off most of that time, the TLDR is that going for 20 candles every day is not worth it
But yeah, the grind is so ingrained in the community and game that it's eating away at the friendly aspect

You can't cut off even half of the time I mentioned if you wanna get more than 20 to 22 candles per day. Game mechanics forces you to be candle oriented firstly and lastly if you really want to get the cosmetics. Leaving very small or no room for interactions with other players who are in need of help. Many players join sky for relaxation but after they know about -grind like hell for cosmetics- mechanics, it just makes sky all bout cr grind.

Firstly, I'm beginning to get frustrated with TGC. I thought I found a group of people that genuinely wanted to make the world a better place through friendship and the teaching of the kind, human soul, but I'm starting to believe that I was misled. Nowadays, their focus seems to be more on the economy and how much money they make from IAPs, rather than the main goal of Sky in general: to foster new friendships and spread kindness where possible.
My evidence? They seem to rush us with new seasons quicker than before, as the gap between seasons used to be a few months or so as I've heard. There's barely any time to get candles - and not to mention our time is constantly being squeezed out of us, only to get a mere 21 candles a day. With the prices on everything in Sky, 21 candles a day just isn't enough - the time between events also doesn't compensate for those who have gotten burnt out from all the running around, in my case, I haven't even started Duets yet and I only have roughly 12 candles in the bank.
They said they added the chevrons to the candle metre to lessen the stress to candle run and spend more time with others, but it has does the complete opposite. Now it limits how many we can get a day, AND it takes more time to get more wax to forge candles. I'm not sure how in the name of all that is Holy that this makes a lick of sense.
Nowadays, it's not about your friends or who you connect with - it seems to be more about how much money you can throw into Sky for candles or a FOMO-predating IAP that will never return. This is the problem that prompts so many to ignore others at the two player doors, as the focus of Sky has shifted from social to economic. No one pays any mind to those who can't get through, simply because they MUST get their candles. They just "don't have enough time" somehow for the one person that doesn't know a thing about glitches and the like.
Honestly, it's heartbreaking. I dreamt of working at TGC one day in the hopes my work would go towards the goal to make the world a better place, but it seems my goal is a one person journey once again. I'm deeply upset to realise that the "goal of friendship" and "better human interaction" was too good to be true.

To be blunt, if you're getting more than 20 candles a day, this is strictly a you-problem. The only time-limited things are Sky Anniversary items (which have their own event currency), seasonal ults (which cost a currency that takes 5 minutes out of your day at most), and collaborations (also event currency/seasonal). Everything else will come back eventually. You are letting FOMO ruin your game.

• the design does look like a cello
• it has the sound of a cello, it is just slightly distorted. Almost like it has an echo

Well, there's about 52 weeks per year.
Travelling spirits appear once every two weeks, so you get about 26 TS per year.
With 88 seasonal spirits total, that's about 3.4 years from the time that travelling spirits were released for them to catch up to the present, assuming no repeats... and assuming no new travelling spirits are added either.

what I do is take my WL count when I enter, then decrease the end number by 3 and increase by 2
so if I enter with 207, I aim to see a 4 as the last number by the first half, and 9 by the time I reach the final statue lighting checkpoint
gotta see the 4 by the time I finish the first half, because it has 33 statues in it
and if I hit the 9, that means I got all the ones before the endless rock rain ^^

granted if you get hit midway and lose WL then uh, this will throw you off lol
so you gotta do some on the fly mental math

I wanna mention : the intent of daily light was to discourage high grinding but the high pricings combined with limited time have overriden that effect kinda, now a lot of people are forcing themselves to grind a lot to match the massive prices in time
Like here they seem to make it clear that 20 candles a day isn't the intended grinding experience, yet it seeped deep into the community because of the limited time putting pressure on people and many feeling that they need every last candle

I like the concept of daily light but for that to work it needs to be there along with something that isn't FOMO central

Passed vs past is… complicated. Assuming ‘passed’ is in the context of ‘passed by’ and past in the context of ‘moved past’… I think in this case, ‘to pass’ would be the verb. I don’t know what ‘past’ would fall into: adjective doesn’t seem right. But it also does, because it’s kind of a descriptive word. Because you can say that an item ‘is past the old tree’ as a descriptor?
