how animals create oils and sweat (depending on the organism) is defined by things like diet, their own body composition, climates. like how cats and dogs have their distinct oils/smells. for birds they smell very… dirt like? like wet dirt maybe…. or idk wet feathers also have a distinct smell

I honestly thought that we get drained of light not because we're wet but because we're being polluted. Skykids, after all, can swim underwater and even hang inside bathtubs nowadays without even a tinge of becoming wet or having their light drained.

The rain in Hidden Forest actually drains your skykid's light and puts them out like a flame. Hence the "sss" sound.

Honestly, in my headcanon, my Skykid never gets wet, like seriously. Water just evaporates off them because they're a rock shell with a literal starfire in them. 🤭

That noise is leftover from when we used to fly into things and it either drained light or made you lose wings, it was slightly annoying so TGC removed it, and now when we bonk our skids head off something, it just makes a ding

If we're still on the topic of lore, in my interpretation of the lore (which is also my oc lore lol)

There were four guardians, the guarians of 'Aqua', 'Sauna', 'Flora', and 'Fauna'
The Guardian of Fauna was killed in battle during the war, leaving the other three guardians to protect the creatures of the realms, though because of the death, corruption struck some of the creatures, like the Krill and Crabs, which used to look much more elegant and were much more peaceful than before. Few of the passive Crabs remain, whilst the Krill are (mostly) stuck being aggressive, aside from that one Krill from the Cackling Crab

@covert chasm partially! Sauna is mostly just for fire/heat sources and making sure the realms are able to harbor sky children. She made all the light sources and on rare occasions is able to bring skids back from the 'pity room'/'Limbo'

The cinema frame rate is low, skykids view the screen from a weird angle because of where they are, the little lights all over the screen due to the other players even when you remove them using the view only mode

Experiencing an almost 10k Aurora concert first-hand has really made me realise.
This is something that a large studio could never truly replicate. Because Sky is a mobile game, the developers seemingly optimised every tiny little thing about it - and it is a work of art.
Even though it is a mobile game, I didn't realise it was as such for a while when first playing.

And, if a large AAA studio did try something on the scale of the Aurora concert, it just... it wouldn't work.
Part of the reason the Aurora concert works so well imo is that the developers optimised it to the moon and back - and in this day and age, AAA studios seem to be pushing for people to just get better hardware instead of accomodating for those who lack it.

Most triple A games are poorly optimized anyway because the Devs aren't paid enough to care

That definitely happens in sky too but more often than not it's the player intentionally doing that

Also I'm pretty sure skys servers stream the games graphics so it's putting less pressure on devices like mobile phones but I'm not too sure if that's true

I don't think so - that'd require streaming ~5.93 MiB of data every frame for every player, or ~356 MiB of data every second at 60 FPS for every individual player.
Instead, I think Sky's just well optimised. I just downloaded the mobile version on my phone, and it's running surprisingly not that bad considering that this is a low-end phone from 2021. (that was low-end back then, and is certainly low end now)
It's not the best (especially in comparison to the buttery smooth 75 FPS my laptop can give, or 144 FPS if on my main monitor), but certainly playable imo.

So I had this idea for a more reasonable ts system. Basically every ts, depending on the appearance of their outfit, will be categorized into one of four different seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. For instance, Anxious Angler will fall under winter, Timid Bookworm will fall under spring, and so on.

And every real-life season, ts of corresponding season will be placed in a store where they will be made available to players on a rotational basis. So during the months of March to May – approximately – spring ts will be made available, and then from June to August summer ts will be put into rotation, and so on. This system will ensure that every ts will see a return at least once every year.

Also, having the ts be categorized and released based on seasons would help players better mix and match outfits with certain event items; like, how much more appealing will that Days of Sunlight cape be if you knew you could immediately unlock other summer-themed outfits from the ts store and pair them together? This could certainly create an incentive for players to become more proactive in buying seasonal outfits.

Anyway that was just an idea I shared with genchat once. wanted to know what you guys think!

It is a really neat detail that’s been around for years! Also in Eden as you’re dying, you can hear your skykids heart beat, eventually it starts to slow down and stop before you die. It actually goes really well with the sounds of howling wind, smashing rocks and Eden’s ambience.

also, playing piano does not make controllers any easier

I just find Sky mobile clunky because touch controls feel less precise. My thumbs aren't as accurate at conveying movement as a joystick is since they're a bit big in comparison to my phone, and sometimes I hit the wrong interaction button because everything's clustered together on screen
I grew up playing PC games, so WASD doesn't bother me, but the flying takes some getting used to. A controller is intuitive even when your skid is faced away from you, while sometimes you need to move the mouse the opposite way of what you'd expect...

The issue is that it takes away the value of ascended candles as they are- being intended as the hardest to get currency since you can only get them from shards and Eden, which prove as a challenge to players, opposed to the far less challenging way you obtain candles and hearts.

Nah it's ok😭 do what u like and play the game when u feel like it,i was hungry for the cosmetics so I farmed everyday for candles non-stop for about a year which lead me to have an absolute burnout 💀 but I did meet my bsf there (yay 3 years) and we're still pretty good friends, honestly my good advice don't farm everyday and play with friends they make playing the game worth it

Eden without hopping, I did that on my first go through Eden and got about a good half of it.
I quickly developed skills and precision afterwards so I consider myself something like a veteran in terms of flight skills.

I think ur talking about interior design,i highly recommend checking out on Pinterest for some inspo,i study drafting (technical drawing) and it def helped with designing the interior of the nest

Restoring the Aviary also gives you the Enchantment spell shop, a shortcut to the Hall of Harmony (and with that the Village Theater and Village of Dreams), as well as another entry point to the best map in the game Wind Paths !

If you want to know where the Aviary entrance is located, head out back to the gates and take a sharp left there. Look for waving flags, and the telltale sparkle spiral that marks the Wind Paths!
And yeah Light Whisperer is the first (and only) TS I bought out so far. I ran most of February for that. And then took a two-month hiatus.

Most of it is practice, but its good to practice with slower music sheets to help familiarise yourself with how it works/feels. I also recommend learning custom songs, youtube and in #sky-music is a good place to find songs u want to play. First song I learned to play was Fallen down

that reminded me that an old friend used to use me as a shield for krills when i was a moth i would get dragged there not knowing where we were going and theyd randomly fly into a krill and drop me in front of it
i told them multiple times that it wasnt funny and to stop but they just kept laughing so i started logging off every time they logged on it is rude of me to say that here i dont wanna make things about myself it just reminded me
