I think the trouble with expensive IAPs is, with the system the game works with currently, it’s also about the only option. It’s a free, ad-free game. There needs to be some caveat with that, and much as I grouse about how expensive IAPs can get, I know I’d personally rather have an optional purchase and the option to buy season passes every once in a while than have to deal with ads and the like.

I outright left Amino because of forced ads. I don’t think I would have stuck with Sky so long if it had them too.

Yeah, we were making sassy spirit jokes, and someone changed their name to reflect that. I decided to join in the fun.

I'd accept the IAPs if they were more varied, larger-scale packs. 15€ for a single umbrella? That's a lot. Toss in like, an entire outfit or two? Yeah sure, we'll talk.

Personally i don't mind IAPs much for that reason yeah
I am a free to play player, but i'm okay with missing out some stuff (though the pricing for single items does get wild)
What i do mind is that a lot of non IAP content is also kinda gone because me too new
Hence why i mention hating TS system almost every time they come up

Also I love how I'm complaining about being punished for being a new player and in-game right now I get a moth immediately unlocking high-five with me and a veteran player rejecting a single candle and flexing all their seasonal cosmetics and Level 4 emotes at me :V

A lot of veterans don't want to be mean when doing that
A lot of older players here sometimes get scared by interaction, or not want to take responsibility of helping a player and stuff
And again, that is okay
People are allowed to do their thing on their own

Now, I'd love the TS system, in fact I did love it when it first came up, but uh... 1 out of 200?

Admittedly I’ve never gotten many non-Season Pass IAPs myself for that reason. 99.9% of the available IAPs just aren’t worth it to me. All I’ve gotten have been the Wings of Aurora, and that was because they’re the only ones that have been worth it to me.

you only get to know the TS ahead of time if you’re in the discord anyway which is in itself bad design to me. Just have them visit for a whole week instead and put an announcement on the game’s opening screen on Monday… Sokai’s idea could also work

Except Cure For Me

Level 2s are the same with just extra sparkle
Level 3s are different but to be honest not that often used from what i've seen

to be honest I never buy lvl2/4 emotes so I never thought of them as a potential for flexing… I don’t think most people intend it to be that way, but I won’t lie and say some players aren’t like that either

From that entrance, you can find another small spirit wall that'll be across the clouds and to the left i believe

When you enter Daylight Prairie and cross the clouds to get to the butterfly fields, go left. Behind a spirit gate there will be a kind of cavern area - where one of the Passage Trials was. Cross the clouds there, but instead of going into the Passage area, go to the left of the main entrance. There should be a gap in the wall that takes you to a boat area. Sit on the boat, and it’ll sail you to the peaks.

To go far forwards you can let yourself glide pretty far before needing to flap again

If that’s the Peaks you’re in… yeah, those are pretty bad for that. One of them pretty much requires cloud-skimming, even for vets.

Yeah for gaining height the easiest way imo is to go to the clouds, and just flap up while in the clouds (glide mode, not fly mode)
This lets you gain as much height as you need very easily

but all we get is a bunch of cosmetics available for a limited time, with most of the favourable cosmetics being expensive IAPS, being the catalyst of FOMO among peoples nowadays, even without those, players have to grind extensively to get the things they want

so as much as i’d love to believe sky is a social game with cosmetics just being a fun add-on, it isn’t anymore, cosmetics are just as important as the social aspect nowadays for players and if tgc truly wants to change that to make people focus on the social stuff, they could’ve done it years ago

I think this balance is very much up to individual player preference and experience - like I'm a new player relatively speaking, but I don't personally value or care very much about the cosmetics side of things. For me it's more about the game feeling really satisfying to run around, the cozy/beautiful vibe it has, and the cool people I meet and keep in touch with

Prairie Peaks (though it doesn't really have shared spaces shrines)
Starlight Desert (especially the rose gardens)
Actually I think the treehouse is the only one of these that has a shared space shrine
