Minecraft is open world and it actually spends less resources than Sky. It's mainly because of the render distance and many open world games use this technique. Sky is different on this

Sky instead encases every realm in a separate place as if every place was a completely different world separated from each other rather than a full kingdom full of skykids

Me too until I noticed when I first started playing two years ago. I looked at the clouds at home weirdly. Even realized I could occasionally hear people honking FROM these clouds. That made it obvious for me that each one of them are actually our realms far away in the skies

This is the main reason why I think this is very difficult to happen. It's quite the big decision. The right call indeed, but I don't see that much commitment on them...

In a kind of messy way though. For a quick and easy getaway it's nice, but not for the long run

I think it makes it so if you need to update anything in the entire world, you as a coder need to go to each of the areas to update them rather than a single entire world.

Another thing would be how multiplayer works. Why do we only have an 8 players limit? Why is it that this is the only game that splits and merges very randomly and still somehow has the resources/logics that you can hear your friend's honk from the very end of Isle even if you're at the beginning?

The way the game is now you can't really fit many players in a single place without the game glitching or crashing reason why we can only have 8 at a time o.o

I actually learned a lot from an independent game developer for a mobile game that has a lot of players, yet still is on beta these days. He goes on detail on so many things and it quite amazed me how expensive can companies put you their stuff even if it's just the bare minimum server management

1. It'll make you fluffy
2. It'll increase your current height by a bit
3. You now leave paw prints if you're walking on something like sand
4. You leave a trail of water drips if you just came out of a body of water and decide to walk (if you stop while doing so will trigger an emote that makes you shake the water off)

Wearing the special proto mask also unlocks a set of friend emotes
Those being:
Pat
Boop
Chin scratch
If you have the tail it unlocks:
Tail hold (hold hands except only 1 person can do it)
Tail cuddle (you sleep on your tail or someone else does)
Dynamic expressions (tail will move accordingly to expressed emotion)

Cozy's pretty much a slower gen.

Cozy is slower paced than general, with a longer slowmode. Also not as many people are active in cozy at a time as there are in general, which tends to have loads of people, whereas cozy may only have around 5-10 people in active conversation.

would you like the aviary to have something like that or would you like it to have its time set to your current time like in homespace
