The compensation has been very messy and random people were compensated, (some had their compensation taken away as a 'false compensation' by mistake) I highly recommend #live-feedback (and #wishlist-and-ideas-archived if you'd like afterwards) to express your issues/concerns with the compensation and ask for a fair one. Chances of another compensation are low unfortunately but I think it's still important that they hear you guys out, and they won't have an excuse that they didn't receive enough reports etc.

If you have Android 12 and are experiencing the same crash as Android 8, I would suggest checking your Vulkan driver version. That would be the only explanation: your phone manufacturer did not properly update your graphics drivers.

One honest message from my side regarding Android 8
Hi, I'm no one in particular, but I like Android and Android hardware and very soon, I'll be getting into software as well. What I have to say is- if the latest Android version your phone officialy got is Android 8, then more than likely it's pretty old. Even when this issue is fixed, you'll always have inconveniences which others may not face due to harder to support hardware and software. Quite a few users might have already switched to a newer phone. So, try to get a newer better phone if you can. It's not compulsory, I'm sure Android 8 will continue to have Sky support for longer but yeah, try to get a newer phone. If anyone's interested, I have complied a list of affordable phones and other devices which can run sky at 60fps and I can guarantee will be supported for a long time.

At least on my experience, like on the little prince update issue, the only android 8 issue was the black screen, after that there was no other areas crashing like the other phones did. We also didnt get affected by the phone reset bug from the last update.
But android 8 is indeed very outdated 💀 i always have the feeling that they will stop supporting it every update it goes

Just keep looking right, enter assembly area, assembly area is crash free i think.
Enter the second door, crash, relog, go back to checkpoint and instantly look down. Then find your way to the grandma area

Like yeah, y'all have been repeating several times that Android 8 is indeed an old device, the percentage of users are as miniscule as my toe nail, and one day it's not gonna be unsupported by Sky. But that "day" isn't today yet. TGC promised to fix the bug. I think whatever Tomato's choice about their own phone-spending choices should be none of anybody's concern. They're simply stating their opinion about it.

Plus somebody offered to provide a good list of afforadable new devices. I think that's a good reference for anybody else who actually wants to buy a new device to be able to play games better. 💗

so I managed to farm forrest with help of this trick.
Reminder:
Cutscenes will always make you crash, avoid it as much as possible.

i recommended a friend to help you on farming.

what to do :

your friend will lead and all you have to do is lower the graphics and face the camera down.

that's all you have to do.

if it crashes well just go back again and immediately skip that cutscenes especially on the area before the temple as fast as possible and swipe away from the temple. Even if you don't swipe down it won't crash.

recommended to have warp for less. hassle farming.

also the temple area seems to be stable it won't crash even if you watch the cutscene but I recommended skipping it just to be safe.

I did this and I managed to farm forrest just fine.

I'll be sure to look for other methods on other realms

Hello skyfam! One of my friend has a problem in sending heart gifts. She is on Android and actually can't send me a gift. She clicks on the simblol of the gifting, I see the withe candle she's offering me but if I click it nothing happens. She gets her candles back and I don't get the heart. Random reminder that if you're crashing everywhere, you can get to Grandmas and hot spring. Although Grandma is better in terms of getting wax faster, but if you can get to both, you'll get 10 candles from Grandma and whatever candles you can get from Hotspring. Note, don't afk for too long in hot spring as it can easily overheat your device and damage your battery. Not sure if everyone is capable of getting to either of them, but some are able to so won't hurt to try. You can get a friend there to tp to, or ask in #looking-for-group-live if you don't have anyone^^ Afterwards just keep your save point in one of them if you want

I also went around saying the channel isn't for complaining/ranting in the beginning, but just remind others to #live-feedback and #report-a-live-bug and let them be. A new device isn't a solution for everyone and also doesn't fix anything. People are frustrated, understandably, especially after spending £/$10 on the ap, and the lack of communication from TGC, right now and in the past with other similar issues. The only thing I haven't been a fan of here is people disrespecting the TGC staff and eachother. It's okay to have emotions, be sad, angry, etc. but if you're (not directed you) finding your emotions dictating you what to say/do, resulting in being mean/rude to others, it's okay to take a step back and breathe 🦆

The assembly quests have 3 shortcuts to different parts of forest, one being to forest brook (grandma) Doing the quests is probably not a solution for some if they crash everywhere. Since Sky was originally an iOS game, it would make sense that they basically abandoned Android systems due to too many problems with it. As an Android user myself, I'm also disappointed at the way this port has been treated :/

They haven't, though? As kindly as I can say this, that's spreading misinformation and can be easily misunderstood as a fact. No TGC staff have ever said they're abandoning the whole of Androids or ever hinted at it. What is a fact is keeping up with Androids is hard due to the amount of different androids there are, with all kinds of specs and etc. There's a hundreds if not a thousand of different androids. Compared to a few ios' that all work the exact same, all by the same company. It's not TGC's fault. They can't keep up with all of them because it's simply impossible to catch every single bug on every single android device. Hence the amount of bugs androids get. As far as we know TGC is a small team, with a very likely small coding team. It's not an excuse for the lack of communication and so on, but it's just false that they're abandoning androids

You cant change your payment email on google play because google is bad basically.
I have to do this every every season, you have to delete the current payment email ( make sure you know the password to add it back later), and then google will change the email you pay with randomly, so u basically delete until you get to the email you want to pay.
If the sky account you want to pay it is sync with the google email you deleted, then sync it with facebook first so you can enter on your account after you delete the google account.
Good luck if you try that, its very annoying

It's connected to Samsung's unfortunate practice: this manufacturer tends to overlook proper graphics renderer updates and Sky heavily depends on it.
