That's odd. My SD670 has no lag. It sounds like a heavily bloated OS causing your issue. For optimal performance, though, aim for a Snapdragon 835 or higher. 600 and 700 series are for lower end phones. 800 series is for flagships.

Don't know what to tell you, my device with similar specs never had any lag spikes, though. This is why I suggest it's OEM bloat and a beefier SoC like the 800 series would be a better option for you if you stay with the same OEM Skin/OS.

That is a difficult one to answer due to how different Android devices are across manufacturers and even the same manufacturer. (Example, Samsung Galaxy J series phones cannot run the game, but their S series line up from the past few years would be great for Sky)

A series will play the game, but they can have some lag spikes in certain areas. (IIRC first floor of vault is horrid on the A series)

For a cheaper phone, OnePlus and Pixel a series are good bets. I've played Sky since release on my Pixel 3a until Switch launch. I would just suggest not updating to newer Android major versions until the bugs are ironed out. Android 11 had crashes from launch for a few months. I am sure future major updates would have similar issues, since those two brands release the update for their devices Day One.

oh you're sooo negative I haven't had a single issue with my Android (Poco F1) that wouldn't be present on other platforms as well (I had the same flickers as the Switch and crashing near boats or message candles in sanctuary, which is fixed by now). Okay hear me out, I've played sky on 2 devices Huawei Y9 Prime(69° max in sky) and Tab S6 Lite (47° max) (both ran at 15-25fps most of the time) so finally I was able to play sky on Poco X3 Pro which is a proper flagship at ~$250. First I uninstalled all the bloatware(not much surprisingly) and granted only necessary and important permissions to Xiaomi apps. After that I went into sky and wow! It loaded wayyy faster, didn't even get hot (only a bit warm) and that beautiful 60fps. Sky looked much better and like most of the bugs and performance related issues I faced on the weaker devices, gone!! It was truly amazing. Surprised by the difference made, and yes for the money,no better phone at this range. 10/10 for the phone and my recommendation stands.

See pretty sure some manufactures like Google will do their best to provide correct updates to the drivers and proper optimization. So Pixel line of phones have much lower bugs. @fast hearth though there are many affordable devices that run sky very well, there aren't many Samsungs which are cheap and provide good raw performance. Generally Samsung phones are less of a hassle and more user oriented. Anyways here's a list of phones which run sky at 60fps without breaking the bank.

As far as i know clicking that ✅ will open a survey page where u can agree to answer some questions. The one i have seen with 6 candles reward was for research survey from a university. I don't know any subscription from that.

With the recent update Sky became a bit more hungry and your phone closes it because of energy and resource management. It depends on your device. I can smoothly swap between live & beta & discord with my not-so-strong Pixel 5, my older phone can't do that tho

There is a setting which lets you make exceptions in which apps will not be k1lled while changing or switching apps, I think it's something like "memory cleanup exceptions". I have turned sky on and can comfortably switch between apps and return and sky won't restart.

It also helps to turn off battery optimization for sky if you need to switch between apps and want sky to stay open

Look, you can only have a guaranteed use experience if you play sky in the hardware it was intended for. Sky was compiled to run in arm 64 architecture. Running it on the x 86 Android system would mean serious compatibility risks, because the system will have to do a code translation, and that can generate errors that are unpredictable.
Edit: spelling corrections

I say so from my own experience trying to run arm games on Intel x86 processors.

So if you happen to have any problems with the game while running it on Android x86, that means TGC won't be able to do anything to help you, because they haven't made the game for that purpose.

It could be that your phone is overheating too much or otherwise something is causing the game to crash so your phone force closes the app. I would recommend not doing this anyway as it isn't really good for your device to leave Sky running for so many hours. There is also a limit to how much wax you can collect from the bonfire per day anyway, so it's not really worth it to leave it open for that long

There are 2 misunderstandings. Let me word this way, sorry for confusion:

Based on my observation users often skip the most important fact: Sky won't run on 32bit, it needs a 64 bit device.

This is really a biased opinion based on missing information.
Headphones are not available on Android because the way android handles audio sensing in a clumsy way.
The quality issues are simply because Sky was originally written from scratch to iOS and because of several requests and attention they made it available to android. iOS devices (from coding side) have about less than 10 variations. Nintendo has the same very few too (and Nintendo also had the strange sales policy of exclusive items). Android has more than 10000 device/os variations and from coding side android is a nightmare compared to iOS. In fact, android phones get the most attention and patience from devs, trying to tweak Sky to make it work on all droid clumsy limitations. Graphics quality was very good for Android until they added medium and budget android phone compatibility.

Well it's too weak then... I have a better tablet (Galaxy S6 Lite) but the experience isn't great here as well. It's better to play on a phone of the similar price. If you want a good sky experience on tablet, you need to shell out some money for high end android tablets or go for iPads. I had an issue with controllers being recognized back in 0.14.0. What fixed it for me was to use touch controls to navigate the game menu, go into controls options and then press buttons on the controller for it to be recognized again. LT and RT still aren't recognized by Sky, though. All other buttons work.

I would double check if your LT and RT are recognized as buttons or axis. Seems if Android reads them as Axis, Sky won't recognize them.

If you're budget can fit it, a Pixel would be the best experience for Sky since there isn't any OEM shenanigans that would cause game breaking bugs. Other than widespread bugs or the issue when Android 11 launched, (new Vulkan Drivers) I've had no issues with Sky on a Pixel.

However this is not the case with flash memory. Modern flash chips have only a maximum Read/Write cycles of 10,000. Basically speaking, using this memory expansion thing will accelerate the wear and tear of your internal storage and cause it to fail sooner than it would, much sooner than it would. Take a look at MacBook m1 devices dying over months of use because of that.

Sky had a major graphics rework. Before sanctuary the graphics were great. But since compatibility was expanded to mid-range and budget devices, the quality significantly decreased.

Recently during LPP season they delivered a new big graphics update which brought back smooth transitions, crisper image quality, less artifacts, but because of sloppy Vulkan renderer update of many chinese and samsung brands these phones crashed. Therefore TGC had to disable many of these new graphics beautiful features for the sake of these bugged-renderer phones.

GPU intensity and heat can depend on phone model vs their graphics renderer, several devices don't heat more, while others do.

Make sure any "game booster" is off. Any apps that can draw over sky, like facebook's message bubbles, aren't running. If all else fails, an uninstall and reinstall of the game and making sure Google Services are up to date. (settings - about phone - android version - Google Play System update)

Also be sure to not be running any network modifying apps like a Virtual Private network, proxy or firewall (if you're running a firewall app, be sure Sky is on the whitelist)

Account switching works but not so simply. As per TOS you are licensed to have only one account/person and account switching often leads to lost IAP or accounts merged. Works, but not advised to do so.

The main problem with headphones on Android is how audio routing is detected changed drastically at least 3 times from Android 8 up to 11. (The versions TGC supports) So it would be a nightmare to have the feature work seamlessly across all supported Android versions.

Ktjn also mentioned that in iOS it's only one message if you plug accessory in and only one when being pulled out. Android is constantly making "calls" if the accessory is there.

Yeah, it would be an API call, and it's syntax changed twice from A8 to A11 and how many polls you can do in a certain amount of time also changed. (Those are the three changes I know of to get the feature working, there may be more changes I didn't discover.)

Essentially, in Android, the app has to be asking if audio is being used by another app when iOS you just have to have an app request when a change occurs to get notified. With Android it would be "Is there any other app using audio yet? How about now? now? n-now?"

Sky uses 64 bit instructions. You would have a bad time trying to run it on a system that only uses 32 bit instructions. Not to mention, that would be breaking the terms of service to do so anyway.

IDG why there's this urge to get the game on anything other than mobile devices.
Sky was made to be used with either gamepads and touch control combined or with touch control alone. Also one remarkable thing is that Sky uses the same approach as many mobile games use today: low poly, high post-processing. That means GPUs on flagship desktop and laptop PCs would be severely underused since they're based on unified shaders that can do either vertex or pixel shading.

TL, DR.: Sky on anything other than mobile handsets is pointless.

Sky on my Android vs how it looks on Switch is night and day. (Android looks much worse) I would welcome Sky on my PC to look even better. The switch is limited by it's low power CPU bottlenecking the Switch in most areas. (see bug report 69116 for full details and numbers). Personally, I'd rather play the game on a screen larger than 6". Until it comes out for PC, I will just live with the subpar CPU performance of the Switch until a better platform can play the game on my TV that's larger than any mobile device screen can be. Do not get the S6 lite, though. You might have performance issues with it, just the regular Tab S6

Any of the tab S series tablets would do fine. (Tab S4 or newer, no Lite models) Other tablets wouldn't meet the 64 bit requirement since Samsung is the only contender for high performing tablets using Android. Others are just afterthoughts from manufacturers.

Personally, I would suggest an S series tablet that fits your budget. While Xiaomi is selling a good product on paper, their OEM skin of Android is riddled with more bloat than Samsung's. This would mean over time, it would exhibit slowdowns more than a Galaxy S would.

If you can find a Switch that's affordable. (The OLED model just came out and is $350) That would be what I would suggest. Sky on Switch is a lot prettier than any Android can give you. You won't get 60 fps in a lot of areas due to how low powered the Switch is, but you can hook it up to a nice, large TV. (Like a 55") After Sky came out on Switch, I barely log in on my Android anymore.

Some Android devices are just under the recommended specifications for Sky. A good chunk of Samsung A series phones will have lag issues just because the hardware can't handle the demand of the game for example. As the game matures more and more each update, it means lower end, budget phones will have a harder time playing the game. The only thing we can hope is to fill out a bug report so TGC knows your device is having issues and hopefully they can work a miracle and get a lower end phone supported.

If you're talking about the half second stutter almost all Android devices suffer from, that is a known issue and TGC is working to get it resolved.

The Nord n100 uses a Snapdragon 460. It is the bare minimum in the requirements for Sky. It is a very demanding game on both the CPU and GPU. Since it's a OnePlus, I would double check to see if you can get on the latest October Security update since OnePlus is pretty good on updates for their phones. There were some Vulkan updates to Android over the past year that should help with the performance of Sky.

Yes as Uzephi said, Xiaomi tends to be a bit heavier on the UI side, but yeah, compare that with something like the S6 or S7(might barely squeeze in the budget) to the Xiaomi pad 5 and 5 Pro, the specs are amazing and with some time and careful reading, you won't have much trouble with MIUI

If you're more privacy concerned than performance per dollar or most value, then go Samsung or iPad

The real thing is: If you're getting a new tablet for a better Sky experience and nothing else (Galaxy Tab S with S pen are amazing for Art) I would suggest spending the money on a Switch over a new Tablet. Seems Nintendo will be supporting the Switch for quite awhile longer, so you'll have a plethora of games to play on it compared to a Tablet that you might not use as often if you currently have an Android device for your mobile needs.

Optimizations have happened since, but it still has spikes like that still, especially quite a few powerVR devices in vault. (A quick search through bug reports is a good idea to make sure your device doesn't have any odd issues like that in places) That example video you sent was a frame test in a very light load area compared to other places you see issues.

Heavy load areas would be places like newer seasonal areas or places with a lot of objects to load. (first floor set in vault is usually used for a sky stress test due to it being a place that is one object away from reaching their internal global object limit.) I don't know if there were any changes to this since, but it was said quite awhile back they had to remove some small candle clusters for the cakes due to object limit in there when adding candles cakes in Vault for the Daily Light system.

The flickering has stopped tho. I changed my settings for my display color from auto to standard and it stopped flickering. It seems like it is a bug in miui. Also, I think this is done intentionally as you would have to update your phone to the latest one which will most probably decrease your cpu and gpu performance a lot. Marketing strategy. Also I think the heating is because of the background process because of miui. I will test it with a custom rom and try again.

Basically speaking, Google CTS system has a way of knowing that your bootloader unlock status changed

No matter how hard you try to hide or Change CTS profile to Basic, they know which devices left factory with Hardware attestation and that will make safetynet fail right away

On Samsung devices there's no way to escape that, since Knox fuse gets blown if you flash custom firmware, and cannot be reset.

Hardware attestation exists since the first Google Pixel and this model is where Google started to set their new Trusted Computing grounds
