I use Samsung DeX on my TV a lot to watch Netflix or YouTube. and I also end up playing games that are controller compatible like Sky and Minecraft... And Minecraft, Oh my... Pocket controls suck, but when you hook up a controller and you're playing it on the TV, it's like the switch version but much better because the frame rate is better and you can see for miles.

Playing sky on the TV while laying back in your bed with a controller is super relaxing... Too bad it's next to impossible to use the chat...

I grew up with equal access to all three... Touch controls has its benefits, but it feels really clunky to me. Controllers are really nice as they give you a force feedback to your button presses. I actually prefer keyboard and mouse over all of the methods though because it gives the most versatility. Games that require you to aim and or shoot really benefits from a mouse due to quick reaction speeds. This can also be achieved with touch controls, but it's not as easy.

You don't have name in Sky. Your friends can give you names when they become your friend and can change the name to your preferred name if you tell them. But the random name generator generates new names of you at each of your new friends.

That is an issue that is across many many Samsung devices that have upgraded to Android 11. If the beta version has regular font and that means they probably have a fix for it in the next update.

So... I have an android Saitake controller. It "works" on sky, as in only a few functions have buttons assigned and I cant really tweak them or play the game. I see there's a controller option in the game now, but when I connect my Bluetooth controller and try to enable control support in sky, the game says "controller not detected". Nah, every crash I had, I had to literally force close the game. It never really "crashed" just locked up and stopped responding. I am sure the log I gave them showed an ANR error message.

Putting sky in the background and it reloading means your low memory killer for your device is very strict or you disabled background processes. I kept the game idle in the background for extended periods of time and never had it reload like that, unless I used up too much ram with other processes.

I have a Google Pixel 3a, Occasionally (maybe every 30 minutes) my left thumb controls become stuck in one position and my sky kid runs off forever. This continues until I minimize and restore the game. It has happened since season of dreams started.
Is this a known issue? I couldn't find anything anywhere that seemed related.

What phone model do you have? There are other requirements than just having Android 8.0 or higher. You also need a device that is 64 bit (Samsung A10 for example is 32 bit), you need Vulkan support (some lower end phones, like the Samsung J series don't have Vulkan support) you also need to pass Google's CTS check, which surprisingly, Xiaomi phones on Android 11 lost during the month of Feb. Don't know if they started passing CTS again or not.

It's how Adreno handles upscaling that makes it look so horrid for Snapdragon phones. Hopefully, some day, they can put high def mode back to native resolution.

It's region specific. Samsung has the OEM bootloader unlock permanently hidden from the US variants of all their phones. Without that, you cannot root their phones. It is possible to root some of their phones based in other regions however.
