Hello my friend wanted to play the game with me and he downloaded it. It said it wasn’t compatible with the phone because it needs 8.0 or higher. However he think it is because it’s 9.0. Here is the information about the phone. I just want to know if it’s compatible or not and if it is why he couldn’t download it.

Sometimes 50% in default settings.

@gray blade that phone has an unsupported processor. Sadly until TGC supports Helio processors, it will be incompatible with the game.

Sky supports Snapdragon, Exynos, and Kirin processors.

Your phone also has a GPU that boosts up to 710MHz. My phone only hit 430MHz max. That's a huge difference in power consumption.

Yeah! I noticed that too. The same thing happens when my kid is in a dark area and the glow from their cape jumps around. I noticed it in Wasteland

yeah, once you get past the cutscene, everything should work properly. Since your friend is crashing during the cutscene, that is the issue that needs to be overcome

Has there been any updates on the Switch release? Nintendo.com still lists it as "Available Summer 2020", and summer is almost over.

I think they are going by the Sonoran Desert summer of May through November (eastern Cali to New Mexico). If so, they have a few more months left.

Regardless, the announcement was made earlier this year before the pandemic, so the dates may change. TGC worked from home for months, and I believe they only just recently returned to the office with social distancing in place, if they have returned at all.

That used to be a thing. There are open Betas available on the eShop. Ninjala being one of them before it released.

If you had a cartridge release (which Sky being 1Gb, can fit on the system or SD card just fine without a cart) would you need to be Beta tested in Washington

Open beta would be different than iOS or Android as it would be only a certain set day between certain times as everyone who tests would be sending a butt load of log data from what I've been reading about the open betas that have been done on the switch.

@prime verge the Galaxy A10 is a 32bit device. Unless TGC starts making a 32bit version of the game, it won't be compatible with the A10. See pins. The requirements is the system being able to read and use 64bit instructions.

Good example: Motorola Z2 Force is a laughing stock on stock firmware. Lineage had to rebuild everything from the ground up on it and it competes with the Pixel 2 XL now in performance. (Same hardware in both except Z2F has greybus for the mods)

you can get one from the lists here, https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-top-smartphones-2019/ but i'd recommend getting oneplus lines/apple device if you are really into sky, and for now, you can try stopping background apps, clearing cache and deleting unnecessary data to save space and hope that sky can run smoothly

Once my friend helped me go through Eden door and went through all of pre-point of no return Eden again, I made sure I pressed ok, and went back into stormlock again, it didn't crash anymore (reinstalling, restarting phone etc didn't work)

Ah, read the issue tracker. Yes, the game would exhibit that issue also as if your device supports HDR, the game will call for it. Since your device's custom ROM scene is having an issue with HDR, it would happen with the app. This wouldn't be a Sky thing, but a phone thing.

I have an LG G6 from 2017...the only place it crashes on occasion is at the broken bridges near forest. Never crashed in wasteland or forest social space unlike some other android users. Tbh personally... I'd probably go for a pixel or an LG for my next phone.

Try refreshing your game. If that doesn't work, try restarting your game. If that doesn't work, MAKE SURE YOUR ACCOUNT IS LINKED AND YOUR RECOVERY CODE IS SAVED and uninstall and reinstall the game
If none of those work, contact support
Regardless of which solution provides a fix, definitely report the issue to give TGC that info so they can look into what could be causing it (and potentially other issues)

Reinstalling the game will not fix in-game bugs

In some cases, the game could crash due to overheating so make sure your device is cool enough while playing, maybe that will help

Nothing TGC can do about that. App updates are handled by Google after the developer posts the updated version.

It goes through a verification type process. Newer devices on newer security patches get the update first due to less security issues. Google scans each app that hits the play store for any malicious code, and they have to check against known attack vectors that have been patched in newer security patch levels before they will allow it to be pushed to your phone for security purposes.

A good example is the big known security flaws like Meltdown. Yes, it is patched for newer devices, but if your device is on an older security patch before it was fixed, they would scan for that attack vector to ensure you're safe.

Hi, Anne. Having an incorrect number of stars is a known bug. It happens when WL you have not collected show up as collected when you're at the area. Thus rendering you incapable of collecting it.

The only way to fix this issue is to ||go to Eden and be reborn again||

Hey, Saki. Yes that happens to me too. Its possible pop-up features interfere with Sky's controls bcs it was ment to be played in full window. So far the only pop-up interfaces that don't disable some Sky controls are those minimzed to on-screen icons or have overlay permissions.

Thanks, Cobalt! I use the ds4 and it can only be paired to one device at a time so a switch to swap between receivers would be such a welcome. Rn I have to reset my ds4 everytime I want to pair it with my ps4 again.

At the moment, STAR pins require NFC to function as intended. So unless TGC implements a workaround for non-NFC devices such as introducing unique codes to be entered in lieu, there is nothing that can be done except purchase an NFC extension device for your phone.

android tablet markets are, well hard to suggest since the option is so small and mostly underpowered, and overpriced (costs more than your phone but performs worse), if you're still looking for a good android tablet in 2020, try looking at Galaxy Tab S lines (but it's mostly exynos so it won't perform well on gaming), if you want a good tablet, I'd suggest getting an iPad, but it's back to your preference

@still eagle sorry for being late - i've heard from a friend that the controls are a little weird on larger devices in the sense that they're further apart and harder to reach - so you might want to consider getting a tablet that suits your hand size! therefore yes, a mini would actually be more suited to sky, and the larger ipad is expensive ;u; i don't know anything about overheating, but newer devices shouldn't do that since they're fresh out of the store :>

Rose, Vulkan is what Sky requires to run its graphics in-game. Without the minimum requirements, Sky will break when you try to run it.

From your screenshot it can be assumed that you downloaded a Sky APK from means other than AppStore or Google Play Store. This is already against ToS. TGC does not offer support should you continue to use it.

It's seriously not an easy task to detect another app streaming audio on the same device. Android runs every application in its own sandbox, restricting it from seeing what other apps are doing. That simple restriction make the headphones really hard to implement.

Playstore is strange sometimes... sometimes people who could download sky before suddenly have a message saying their phone isn't compatible when an update comes, and so have to trouble shoot it

There is a good guide in the pins for this. The main issue with that is Google is piloting their "hardware-backed key attestation" and some devices fail this new test making your play store show "not-certified" meaning any app that requires you to pass safetynet won't appear. Following the guide in the pins fixes that issue.

Google flubbed real bad with that test as they didn't know a lot of manufacturers didn't push this out on Android 9 and up like they should have (Android 9 is almost two years old....) with avb verity so there are a few devices out there after an update that Google runs this test against and then they fail. Sadly, in a perfect world, the Manufacturer should have had this done by now... But I mean, it's 2020 and some devices are still coming out as 32-bit with a 64-bit processor...

@fast hearth Just came to say something similar. Just played four realms, from Isle to Valley in battery saving mode in phone and in-game, lowest graphics. I consumed 46% of battery. In 1 hour 31 minutes. 😩

At default settings, I can't enjoy in a full charge. Poor battery 🔋

Sky is a resource intensive game, so yes, it does consume a lot of battery unfortunately.

I usually play with it connected to a powerbank or wall charger. The best way to play Sky without placing strain on your battery is to charge your device to 100% then plug it in while you play. That way any charge consumed by your device isn't taken from its battery, but rather current from a wall socket or powerbank.

i believe that's what kupo and dreamfyre were addressing above with the "feature that was implemented in Android 8 and up"; if i'm not mistaken, the massive heatup occurs when the phone is both drawing power from its own battery and trying to recharge it at the same time while you're using it

in the context of what they said, that would seem to be why it's a good thing for Android 8 to be able to draw and consume power directly from the wall socket/powerbank rather than your battery

i don't have an android device (nor your specific model, whatever it might be), so i can't be certain how your device would respond to doing that; what i can say though is that my iOS devices seem to have no heating issues with running the game while plugged into a charger when they're at 100%, even for long periods of time

in contrast, playing sky extensively while they're not plugged in causes rapid battery draining, to the point i'm convinced that the game's not really designed for heavy play sessions while on the move without a power source

Android 8+ will draw current from the wall if you're at 100% battery and not touch the battery juice until you unplug it from the wall, so no heat from the battery. CPU can still get up to 75°, trust me... I know, I posted a meme in #sky-memes where EXkernel manager showed my CPU was sitting at 75°C but battery was at ambient.

Ideally, 80% but that solution requires a magisk module to trick the system to think the battery is at 100%, so 100% is the better option. Keeping the battery at 100% is better for the longevity of the battery than having it drain so quickly.

Yes its normal, Amelia. Believe me we've all been there when it comes to panic scrolling when a krill's nearby.

Best tip I can suggest is have your emote spam of choice added to your recently used list before entering a krill's domain.

If I go into forest, I reset the game (force close it and reopen) that is a 100% fix until they do a permanent one. I have never crashed that way. It's always when I load a different area first.

I've experienced that before, and it's most likely visual bug (all icons are gone, no emote menu etc, only movements) restarting might help

Hey, Microsoft Tech Support. It's a common bug stemming from Sky's inability to function when not in fullscreen mode. That is; split view, pop-up, and in your case minimizing Sky causes it to lock up. All actions except movement are locked and the only fix is to restart your game. (Or as tested today, having a friend drag you into a realm can help unlock your controls.)

Can confirm it's not a visual bug though, Fire. I play on the controller, and when that happens, all button mapped actions except movement are locked.

That sounds like a performance mode issue or something. I have no issue returning to the game after minimizing it, pulling it to the background, etc on my Pixel 3a. My GF was on a 5min phone call and she was frozen in place due to the app being held in the background, but was able to control her character, access the menu, emotes, etc after ending the 5 minute phone call. (got a nice video of her being stuck mid air and me being stuck by warping to her 😄 )

I dont have an issue with minimizing either, but I do experience it when the screen is being split or shared with another app.

And yeah Fire, makes you wonder if contingencies were put in place to freeze Sky when it detects another app running on top of it.

No, I do get frame skips on my Chromecast Ultra. It could be due to the mid-range specs of my Pixel 3a. I just do it so the little one can learn the routes for CR/WL runs and flight mode changes so he doesn't bonk against every wall.

scrcpy requires ADB to be enabled and a PC, if you never heard of it, Microsoft Tech Support. It is a nice tool to mirror your screen to a monitor.

Some other issues I'm having are mainly the RM5G's fault at this point. A bug with the phone that becomes apparent during games is that it tends to suddenly stop talking to any 5gz wifi network and keeps trying to find a 2.4 network unless I reboot it.

Pixel 2 is still chugging along nicely, it's just the firmware that talks to the cameras is buggered up and fixing that would cost more than the phone is worth. That thing is still my main phone.

The RM5G is stuck to being a gaming device for me because trying to have a group sms with an iPhone user in it causes an issue that irks me deeply.

Something in the RM5G is buggered up that makes receiving a group sms from an iPhone show up as a new group with my own number as its own member on my end and if I send anything in that new one I have it repeated to me by the ghost duplicate. The pixel doesn't have that issue.

On a similar note, I do not recommend getting the RedMagic 5G or the 5S that is releasing soon. Aside from the problems I'm experiencing... If you are worried about the parent company, ZTE, or looking for a good phone to use as a daily driver, the thing ain't it. The in built fan is nice but its pretty much easy access for dust and water to enter and mess it up. That and some of the bands critical for 5g on T-Mobile just aren't there.

It's pretty much a cheap ROG phone with some extra gimmicks

Thankfully I've gotten two or three system updates since this phone's release back in April, which is more than the RM3 can account for outside of China, but I'm more concerned about ZTE also getting blocked from selling in the US and if that will affect receiving system updates from that point on.

If the ROG phone 3 actually has a US version that has VoLTE on T-Mobile, I am thinking of trading the RM in for it. Big if.

I can vouch about the lack of updates... I have a ZTE Blade Z Max Pro (z982), which has all the requirements to play sky except the operating system... Literally if ZTE released Android 8 or 9 for the Blade Z MAX Pro, it could play sky. (Not well... But it could)

Ironically, enabling Adreno Boost helped my phone. That setting isn't one you can normally turn on though. One thing to reduce heat is to only play while plugged into a charging device at 100% (be it wall or portable charger) that way the system won't touch the battery and only pull juice from the charging source.

There is no way to fix it. Some items require real money. The purchase isn't handled by TGC, but handled by Google for the global version of the game and I assume Tencent for the Chinese version.

Just Android. They are looking into a way we can have the same feature as iOS. We don't know when it will happen yet though as it is some interesting permissions issues with how android handles seeing what other apps are doing.
