Which is why the Linux kernel in Android will let the phones get up to that temp without issue

Sadly there is no way to turn sound off for Sky. What you can do is download a sound manager app to manually control or turn off sound from Sky.
I use Samsung Sound Assistant. Works like a charm.

That can happen. Sometimes code can get caught in a loop. When that happens, there's little the device can do except stop it.
Since its soft bricked your device, it means that your device was giving Sky all of its resources. Most phones don't do that.

Journey is owned (and published) by Sony, TGC made the game but we don't have any bearing on its performance or any ongoing support, ports, or development.
As far as a "detailed roadmap" for implementing things like the headphones for external sound, we'll give updates when we have more information, of which there is none at this time. The way external sound is detected on Android is fundamentally different than iOS, at this time we cannot replicate how the headphones are activated and do not have an ETA on when this will be resolved, if ever.
We communicated in both 0.10.0 & 0.10.1 Patch Notes that improvements to areas that were crashing or fading to black upon entering were made. We can't force people to read patch notes, but please do a little research before coming in with blind hostility.

Though I understand this is beyond the scope of this channel, I would look forward to TGC taking on additional load to produce a first-party port for PC with a first-hand understanding of the source material and the artistic decisions that were made chiefly for performance or technical limitations (e.g. low-res ramping). Yep. For those residing in SEA (with the exception of HK), shipping sometimes cost even more than the pins itself. But there isnt much that can be done. TGC uses an external delivery service and international shipping from the states has always been costly.

Hi! Anyone know how to enable the low spec mode? My Nokia 4.2 runs the game ok while looking a bit blocky, but my significant other's Huawei Nova 3 is unplayably laggy yet looks super clean with the lowest setting. Only in the Nokia the game complains of the low specs.

Please leave a bug report if you didn't get the option to submit a bug when it crashed. The more reports will help the development team find a common ground on the devices crashing by cross referencing the specs of the devices. Personally, I don't think it is anything related to RAM as the game never used over 600mb of RAM. It could be something with a certain graphics driver or chip not handling all the sprites in the area of something.

I do see some graphic glitches when heading in certain areas of the sanctuary. Like the grass turning gray. There isn't really anything we can do about that right now. The only thing I can say is wait for the developers to optimize the area further. Or get a stronger device.

The new iPhone SE is priced right at $400. I would also recommend the OnePlus Nord which is releasing tomorrow in Europe and India (the price is confirmed to be under $500, might be a little over your budget though).

Android's screen recorder uses a third party app i believe. As far as i know, there's currently no way to improve the recording quality yet. Hopefully TGC will be able to find a solution

The Redmi 4X's max available upgrade is Android 7.1, so thats a no.
The J8 on the other hand is upgradeable to Android 9, so they maaay be able to play if they update their OS first.

and since Sky already has an infrastructure set up for accounts, you might not need NSO
then again, they might have you use your NSO account to sign in to your Sky account, like you do with Google Play on Android or the Game Center on iOS
...then again, that's optional, isn't it

my guess is you won't need it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you do need it
NSO is pretty cheap though, especially if you get a family plan and split the cost between you and other people

It may have the ability to run 64 bit but the OS was built using 32 bit. That means on the kernel level, 64 bit isn't going to work so Google Play will say it isn't compatible. Even if you side load, (against TOS anyway) the game most likely won't load.

I would think they would also allow us to long in using other account methods on switch, otherwise those of us already playing on other devices would have to start over. I didn't know that some games didn't use NSO though, so that gives me some hope.

Yeah, I personally don't think it is anything login related causing the issues. Horizon uses a heavily modified FreeBSD kernel with similar drivers to Android for CPU and GPU but really slimmed down. I mean the home screen only uses 200kb of RAM.NVN is similar to Vulkan but different enough where translating Vulkan code to it would be a nightmare.

I just found an app that solved me that problem almost completly, is just for samsung
Basically you go on the samsung store and download an app called "samsung plugins". Thene you select (from the app) to donwload another app called game booster plus
And from there select Sky and choose to max the frame rate to 100% (you can chose to max to 100% your graphics too but that will make your device heat and consume the battery faster, obvioulsy)
Personally i had problems like you too, @karmic mesa but this thing seem to resolve most of the damage (i still have some frame rates drops but nothing too alarming from what kind of problems i had before)

A game booster plus does in fact help. However, it will not make your device more powerful than it is. All it will do is ease the workload so that your device may keep up.
Devices that are as powerful or more powerful than the S7 (Snapdragon variant) should play the game just fine.

A custom kernel with an extra step in the GPU frequency should work. I bumped my SD835 on my Z2 Force from max of 710 to 760 with minimal heat increase... Although that isn't a user friendly thing to do.

Any device that has the hardware backed CTS/Safetynet check. My 3a, even though has the Titan M security chip, is still basic at a hardware level for some reason, but the 3/3XL and 4/4XL with the same chip are hardware backed.
So the 3a would be fine with A11 when it fully releases in theory. We'll see down the road

We are unable to provide support for players who encounter issues with Sky when playing on rooted devices since we have no way of knowing what kind of modifications have been made to that individual device.
Depending on the amount of modifications made to a rooted device, it may no longer be recognized as supported by Google or our our compatibility checklist when loading the game.

While I do agree in not supporting modified devices when encountering issues, but blocking installs just because safetynet fails is a little hardcore. Just unlocking the bootloader without modifying your device will break safetynet nowadays without some research and knowledge.

It's not just about support if issues are encountered. It's a security risk. If your device is modified enough to fail the validation check from Google Play Protect, it poses a risk for the game and community as well.
You cannot unlink accounts at this time, you will need to contact CS if you wish to change the account you have linked to your Sky ID.
Officially rooted devices are not supported and suggesting troubleshooting steps that encourage rooted devices is not permitted here. We do not want young folks who don't know what they're doing to accidentally brick their device trying to get an extra 1-2 fps.

While I do agree with rooting posing a risk due to the nature of the access the user has to the device, newer checks implemented by Google will even make my device which is now more secure using a modified kernel with upstream commits from Linux main line fail safetynet. It isn't rooted, just made to be more secure, but if hardware backed assetation goes through on this device, being more secure will make compatibility test suite fail due to boot image hash mismatch.
I understand that aspect and will refrain from off topic banter in the future. I do apologize for that comment earlier.

I understand that not everyone who roots their device has nefarious intentions. Unfortunately, the bad apples ruin it for everyone. We have enough struggles combatting hacking as it is with our tiny team. Protecting the community as a whole outweighs the inconvenience of a few edge cases. Google has its shortcomings but is the best option for us to deliver Sky on Android. We have similar struggles with jailbroken iOS devices, it's just a different beast than the tech-savvy Android audience.

Too true. I just hope hardware backed assetation doesn't hit my phone before the switch release. That's the only reason I play sky on Android since the switch version isn't released yet. I personally hate playing anything on mobile and feel this device should be used for communication over leisure which is why I have game consoles as that's their primary purpose.
I do get why mobile version is out there though as that is a huge market compared to the dwindling console market and condone what you must to keep the integrity to your game. Thank you for the insight and your time. It's always a pleasure, Ktjn

Ah, I don't know how that process is. I think it creates a ticket. If you're offline of the game, they should email you for more information if memory serves correctly.

Understandable, I definitely don't prefer playing Sky on my phone, especially after playing on tablet for a long time, largely for the visual real estate reasons. Too spoiled by multiple big PC monitors <_<

If you put all the information in the ticket, the proper people will take care of it. Ktjn most likely doesn't have access to that part of the system. Usually it is a tiered system where certain people have access and they do have to serve in order of ticket submission time. Don't worry, their customer service is awesome. Once someone got to my ticket, it was resolved in a timely manner compared to other companies' ticketing systems.

Only way I know of is to clear app data or utilize the multiple user option in settings.

This should only be used for legitimate reasons, like a shared device or similar

It came with Android 9, so if you're on 8.0 or 8.1, it won't work. I know Multiple User option works as sometimes I let my little one play sky on my phone when I'm working, and when he's logged in on his user, I can restrict access to things a 7 year old shouldn't have access to. It doesn't affect my main user/admin and can play my account just fine. As said earlier, this shouldn't be used to break TOS. Please use for legitimate reasons as I do like this feature for the legitimate reasons to use it.

I released a post back in May about overheating. Here's what it said.
Overheating is an issue at the moment. However, you can counter it. Just find a cool surface, a fan, or just your hands. Whenever your device starts to overheat, press it against the cold surface or play with the back of the phone against a small fan. Also, if you turn off your screen and press your hand securely on both sides of your phone your hand can draw some of the heat out. Alternatively, you could put the phone inside the refrigerator (inside a plastic bag of course).
Additionally, keeping the temperature of your play space rather cool can be beneficial. ```I think the best performance u can get is to run it on ipadpro

IT has an 865. the 800 series Snapdragons are the higher tier CPUs so they are pushed to their limits. You might get some heating, but not much, I think

My phone does some weird stuff in 30 fps mode. Due to it being coded to always have 60 fps refreash on the screen, I get some nice blur effects going on. I do miss the fluidity of 60 FPS. Kinda sad they removed the 60 fps option for my phone.

Or a ball python if you don't have a phobia. Getting one at a young age, like 6 months is suggested. I usually wear mine like a necklace (nice feeling for stress). Be warned though, they are a huge long term commitment as their life span is 30-40 years.

The 3a has 60 FPS locked out in settings if that says anything of how bad a 1600 score is for the game

building the OS 64 bit requires higher end hardware and takes longer to build. With modern processors, one Android build can take between 2-4 hours for 64 bit compared to the 30 or so minute build times for 32 bit. That is precious R&D time wasted for that device's project which is one major factor in some manufacturers pointing to 32 bit builds instead

Android system uses around 900Mb of RAM by itself. If the game uses 600MB max, that is cutting it very close to the minimum of 1.5 Gb. This would mean no other apps would be able to be open and LMK (low memory killer) most likely won't like killing some apps, so the game will most likely crash instead.

Depending on Manufacturer, you would use between 500 MB and 1 GB of ram for vram.
It is dynamic on most versions of android and is lumped in on memory usage of the app requiring the vram though

you can definitely ask for it to be added in #wishlist-and-ideas-archived , but they probably don't include the in-app purchases onto the website for thatskyshop as there's a higher chance for mistakes to happen in locating your account. in other words, the in-app purchases may be easier to handle through the game account itself rather than the website in general. The website is a merch shop, basically, which is free for everyone to browse and make purchases
