Not the person you’re replying too but to echo some others, yeah I’d say your best bet is getting some funds or posting a more detailed story concept (in a different channel) and seeing if anyone is just really excited about it and wants to do it for fun.

About the book part, do note copyright stuff. If it just loosely based some of Sky’s themes it should be fine, but if it’s using Sky’s world and characters and such then… it can’t be a book you have to buy for sure

i use a guache brush set from one of my fav artists (loish on any platform!) its a stipple brush! and i use it in varying sizes plus some random dots from a guache brush

its basically just a dot trail bursh but they’ll vary in size and look softened

Spike-Tailed Mushroom Manta
one of the smaller species of manta residing in more marshy and rainy areas, these mantas are the size of the average wagon and are highly friendly, when threatened, the lighter yellow spot on their head send out small pulses of light, alerting any other light creatures or mantas to the danger and will aid them if need arises, are highly sociable and act much like dogs, will follow sky kids for as long as they want

TEACH ME HOW TO BACKGROUNDDD

definitely have a reference first. sky is a 3d game with a picture taking feature so that's fortunate

block out the colors. I like to use a rectangular brush, you can use anything, tho, I'll put mine below. for ibispaint

umm also, if you plan on adding a character, to not make the character look out of place, draw them in after you block out the general shapes of the background. their surroundings will of course interact with them

now is the less fun part which is rendering, adding smaller details and textures. I'm on this stage as you can see with the grass.

Art chat: I must know your ways..How do you draw gold and add shading and liting to it 😭?

For me, usually the mid-tone of “gold” is just a brownish colour, like the colour of a latte or milk tea. For its shading, i usually use a muted green, or brown. For lighting, i use a very light yellow

Ooo thats hard. Typically use reds or browns to shade it and whatever the prominent light source’s colour is as the reflected light. Protruding edges tend to gleam if hit properly as well… uh in general use references
Also, since metals like gold are reflective they tend to mimic/blend with colours around it but give it a yellowish hue
(Not the best example but it’s what i could find fastest)
Also very important to remember where your light sources are coming from! I myself made multiple lighting mistakes in the piece above because it’s rather old(over a year old…)

how do you get things to look so smooth? i’m still new to animation and everything i try to animate look way too set apart, while what i’m going for is the seamless look that you have. is it more skins/layer things? i gotta take a class i think

im not good at explaining but with scenes that have fast camera movement, usually the characters can go at a slower fps than the background, You only need 1-2 layers for the characters , then 1-2 more for the background. I recommend just finding animations you wanna learn from, slow them down and just try to do the same thing frame by frame. Not every animation has to be a masterpiece. I’m also self taught so you can do it without class too hope that helps

This is very relatable
What I usually do is I go back to things that have made me inspired and then just start drawing based off of the thing that has caught my interest.

Another thing that has kind of worked has been just letting loose, perhaps doodling a bit. It can start with a simple shape or color etc. and then the ideas just kinda start flowing lol.
Basically just don’t be too harsh on yourself and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. If the art block is caused by let’s say feeling like you aren’t happy with how your art looks I suggest finding artists you look up to and try and take elements that you like about their style and implement it into your own.

Oh and also with the not touching your art for weeks thing, that’s literally me 😭. I actually don’t know what to do about that but I suppose making a plan like “I’m gonna focus on finishing this piece this week” could help. Something I tend to do when I’m not really sure how to draw something I just try looking up multiple references for the thing I’m trying to draw. I also do thumbnails in my sketchbook so that I can try out different color pallets and just decide how I want the overall piece to turn out. but yeah it sure is tough and often times it becomes less fun to draw something because you feel pressured to make it look good while also not really having a lot of experience in drawing said thing
