Whered ya find this
Yea, i’ll go look for it
here and there (tumblr)
I need more, just realized that what I have is lacking compared to yours

It could be the reason why the Wind Paths have a destination in the Prophecy Cave. Maybe they were in the hands of many people: first the Prophets, then the Elders, then the Enchantment Crew
Tumblr indeed is a very good place to find sky sources(anything in general ig?), seemingly endless imo
Werent they in the hands of the child of light in the murals after they completed the trials? And then they gave em to four elders
Unless you mean that prophets held the elements first and stuffed them into the trials
As for enchantment crew.. yea nothin yet im actually uneasy if the lights they have (other than red and purple) are indeed the elements we see in prophecy
I had a theory before that red and purple light may be a product of alchemy (maybe the other four lights too, they seem less powerful than the elements shown in prophecy)
red and purple lights are void and mind respectively btw
Whered you get this info ✍️
Oh yeah, it was in the Chosen One. And we do see how the original location of the elements in Prophecy correlate with the locations of the Enchantment Lights, not to mention they both have the same symbols
Is it possible for elements to leave "remnants" like residue of their power
You’re saying if the Enchantmwnt Lights are modified “sequel” orbs to the Prophecy Elements?
That and one more
Thinking that maybe water element was given to forest elder to suppress remnants of fire element
In the murals it was shown that rain was brought to forest through the element of water
lore chat history (during season of Enchantment chats)
Ohhh ic
My brain is all over the place, but one thing I have noticed with the debate on where the enchantment lights came from is that we also don’t know where the lights from each realm went
The lights supposedly stay in the realms we find during the quests.
Though it seems like the orbs may have come from fallen stars based on the forgotten ark murals.
I meant the lights the elders got, for clarification
Dora the explorer /j
Hola, soy Dora! Can you help me find the Eden King? I sure can’t!
totally forgot right hmmm
Now that you mention veins and blood and body, could all the darkness be some kind of a disease, and us skykids being the cure? I mean it all becomes kind of obvious looking from that pov
It all really reminds me of Bionicle story being the story of fighting cancer (Makuta) and there are also pills and cures (capsules with toa in them)
A stretch of a connection but if it is true then we might need to look into bionicle lore a bit more maybe there's more idk
Or maybe it's just a similarity and I'm going insane lol
if htat's the analogy you wanna pull
I think that too, but my reasoning is a bit different.
Maybe they used it to protect their realm? Teenagers often have a habit of sheltering themselves from the world, so maybe the Forest Elder wanted to do the same
Don't forget there is at least one shop that still exists in the village of dreams. The valley would not just be for residents- it also has commercial and cultural aspects that would give people a reason to live there.
(VoT is the rich neighborhood prove me wrong)
Yeah, I should clarify the Valley would not be limited to just having houses and exxciting stuff, there's bound to be a few shops, either for souvenirs (because capital) or expensive stuff (because ancestors in the Valley might have been richer.
Wasteland could have been the place you go to to buy food or tools.
Valley could be the historical center of the town tourists walk around in where shops are mostly selling souvenirs, food and games, and Wasteland could have had malls where you go grocery shopping to. Or go to home depot. Or ikea. Which are not stores you usually find where tourists go.
Do you think that the spirits that lived in the valley looked down on the spirits that lived in the wasteland pre-calamity?
Most of the spirits I'm thinking about in the VoT are performers, athletes, and audience members, while the spirits at the ark are working folk.... As far as I know
I remember a poor side to valley being mentioned in concept art, but I don’t know if it’s still within the realm or got turned into wasteland. Also another side note that the enchantment spirits are not from wasteland; they are stated to be from somewhere else (“a desolate land far away” iirc) and I personally believe they’re from isle, although it’s not confirmed
Why from Isle? To me it sounds like the typical orientalist undertones
I have a full theory for this because I couldn’t stand not knowing where they were from, let me try to remember the evidence
Just from what I know of lore, in one version of events Isle literally was desolate before the Eden blast. It got abandoned for the other areas
Well, the isle does touch the sea... One of a very few places that do, and as the world's are laid out to us, you can't get much farther away from the wastes
I think the entirety of golden valley is valley of triumph proper and wasteland social area.. golden wasteland proper is an entire different area under the jurisdiction of wasteland elder
But then again, eden is the center of the kingdom theres bound to be residential areas there.. so from valley to eden the span of modernized living under the king?
Eden blast?! That sounds dramatic... And intriguing XD
It can explain why ancestors are dead and why the kingdom is in shambles no?
Okay, here is what I remember.
- Tents on the ark are the same as the ones in Isle in the switch trailer.
- As shown in season of prophecy, the lights and possibly alchemy as a continuation seem to be one of Isle’s “things”
- Style of mural on the ark is the exact same as the ones in Isle, in terms of the colors of paint and the subject depicted. Murals across the game are pretty similar, but in terms of colors of paint they vary wildly
- Isle fits the bill of being both desolate and far away. It’s also implied to some extent throughout the game that they were really cut off from everyone else, which continues to fit the bill
Let me check quickly to see if I remembered it all
Not that interesting! Just a name for the explosion that caused the Eden storm. you can call it any combo of Eden + generally explosive term
You’re onto something here
Insert somebody I used to know
Since the enchantment spirits look so much different visually than the prophecy spirits, my current guess is that enchantment happened After isle desertified and prophecy happened before, while it was still a grassland. This works because prophecy is described as an “origin story of the kingdom”, implying that it took place a fair bit earlier than the other seasons, although I’m not sure how much
(let me just demonstrate how new I am to trying to understand the lore - ahem)
An EXPLOSION caused the Eden storm???!
Yes and yes to both of you. Prophecy is revealed in murals to have been something the king did before he was king, the explosion was something the king did when he was king
Or maybe they come from a time just before isle became desolate? As youve said tents and banners in ark resemble those from the switch trailer
Maybe the clothing they wore was during the time isle was bustling?
Their getup doesn’t suggest anything apocalyptic like Abyss
This is the current, most widely accepted explanation (although it’s not confirmed… like everything in this game)
- Giant diamond on top of Eden malfunctions and goes haywire, corrupting in the process
- It explodes, sending shards of itself AND of darkness outwards, because the corrupted rocks we see in Eden also drain our light
- Since the Diamond is right below thst giant light beam you see, maybe it corrupted thst as well, and now darkness is everywhere
- Boom, death and disaster
Dark stones are like a metaphor for fossil fuels, in that... Well no, they're EXACTLY like fossil fuels
This is possible, yeah. Their clothes are definitely super fancy, I don’t think I can argue there!
I am a bit biased bc a friend compared the ark to like, a storage of all of isle’s culture that they were trying to preserve after desertification, and I liked that idea so much that I haven’t let it go since.
Now that I think about it this may be the case... Lights are in isle in the hands of enchantment crew
They set off towards eden (wasteland is just at the base of eden mountain) to deliver the lights (for some reason, maybe to address the corruption happening?)
They get caught in the storm (maybe the start of eden storm itself? Murals dont really show what storm but the only notable storm ingame is eden)
Ark gets thrown off course and crashes, so on and so forth
Hidden Forest is also an area that was turned into "what happens when technology becomes too much and destroys nature" in concept art, the Forest is also the only place that still has mostly functioning machinery in a LOT of its different areas
Yeah yeah I follow you ! I think they were two halves of the same area, it's just that Valley was the "prettier" part where tourists went while Wasteland was more like, those parts of seaside towns that arent instagram material and have factories and stuff
||I didn't think that diamond was a physical thing. I always imagined that if you could reach it before dying, you would be on the opposite side of the storm... Like the red diamond shape was a break in the clouds... Now I realize that seems wrong- as I think about it.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me btw ^w^||
No problem! It does kinda look like that, the only reason I realized it was a diamond was because of murals…
And as you go deeper into the barren sands its becomes heavily militarized because its close to vault and the gates of eden 💀
Where can I find a mural that shows that diamond thing? I don't remember seeing anything that gave me that impression
Hold on. Is the vault of knowledge, the place to hold most of the information about everything, located under Eden, the place with most darkness and death? How is it still mostly fine?
I wonder why Vault is so close to Eden? The thing that first came to me in my mind was it was like the "university" that was close to the "capital" of the city/country but I'd like to hear other thoughts
||I love your name, it's great
||
That's just who i am lol thx
That's because it isn't, everything becomes more and more disjointed the further you go up in Vault's levels. The building loses less and less of its foundation and becomes this space-esque building with no real limits aside from the arches behind the constellations of the elders on the last floor
If vault is at the bottom of Eden, then it's buried under miles of rock. That would certainly protect it to some extent
I always assumed the walls disappeared just to look cool or something
I’m like 90% sure it’s the top diamond in this pic. It could still be a hole/void/thingy, but currently it being a diamond does make the most sense given the rock shards everywhere that look so similar
You just answered your own question - it's in the mountain. Vault is a big ol' honking underground library, it acted like a bunker.
It's my own headcanon considering some stuff said on livestream that the reason vault turns "dreamlike" the further you go up is you opening the memories stored in the gray vases (no clue what they're actually called).
it's in the Eden mountain. when you exit the Vault after the Vault Elder's cutscene to Eden, the top of the Vault pokes out from behind you. Zhao's concept art also depicts the Vault inside the Eden mountain
Actually its intended that as you ascend higher the more "organic" the space would be
But you cant deny, those in the more manmade areas signs of destruction and dilapidation can be seen
I have another side theory that vault was manifested almost entirely from purple light and so, instead of caving in and going everywhere, when it got destroyed bits of it just started disappearing. Also worth considering, especially because it’s so BIG — imagine building something like that
Combining your destruction theory and my memory theory - could it be a really abstract depiction of degredation? Through leaking or age, the memories stored in vault may have degraded over time or because of the storm, causing massive gaps in them
Kinda like when reels of film expire or aren't kept properly - they turn fuzzy and gain a dreamlike quality, and sometimes parts of them can disapear entirely
OK that's my headcanon now thank you
yeah that’s the vibes I was going for!!
On a bit of a different vector, I was looking at the area after visiting the elder, and it looks a lot like that central area at the base of the vault... And since there's no entrance for you to physically arrive there outside of a gate to home and a doorway to Eden, I was wondering exactly how real the vault was from the third floor upward
It's possible the hole the elevator entered is fitted to the floor
I think that area specifically is real - notice how the middle looks like a broken elevator? Almost as if you shouldn't be able to get there. I like the idea the elder may have meddled a bit to help you up
You're both absolutely right, but the diamond that powers the elevator is collapsed into it in the same way that it is on the lowest level... I don't know, the whole thing got me thinking about dream sequences
My favorite but really weird idea about vault is that it’s like one massive version of the elder cutscene dimensions, and is so much stronger than the others bc of the elder in question having purple light. the reason it looks so similar to vault is bc vault elder is trying to project how it used to look for us, but is forgetting a lot of the details + very weak at the time and so it looks a bit weird
I like it because it’s character driven and it makes me feel things
Basically vault is getting destroyed and the elder tries to preserve how it looked with their memories?
Yeah!! The only difference is that it’s already destroyed, not being destroyed
Yeah - vault kinda feels like when you're in the mid stages of a puzzle. You've got chunks of different pieces, but it's not all quite together yet
vault looks like what brain fog feels like
Oh ok bc I thought it's almost destroyed but elder uses their memories to make half real half memory projections or whatever and if not it just falls down or something so the memories are partially physical
Tbh I do disagree with the idea of vault being destroyed - everything in and out of the game makes it more look mildly jostled than damaged, at least not in the same sense as other areas
I don't think Vault is really destroyed, it's just... Kinda out of shape due to centuries of abandonment
Well the beginning and the end are most definetly real and are at least somewhat safe, as for the middle parts not so sure
Yeah, what I’m trying to get at is that the original vault is damaged pretty badly, and most of what we see is the memories over top of it
Considering what @teal escarp mentioned about the final area, I wonder if vault may have been sealed in during the Eden blast?
The beginning directly leads into Starlight Desert and the Archives plus the elevator seems to be working so I'd argue it's not real
I do consider the entirety of vault “real” because the stuff the magic manifested is still technically real, it’s just really weird. I don’t think it’s a hallucination or anything.
I don't think there's a distinct line between what is 100% real or not in vault. It can be a little fuzzy, and some areas can have wild additions
I think it's more about how much of original remains and what is made out of memories
Hold on I just had an idea (probably somebody else came up with this before but I'm gonna write it regardless)
If Vault is mostly an illusion made up by the Night Elder then maybe Archives is them forgetting stuff and Desert is their imagination unconsciously taking over
What I do know is that, weirdly enough archive is a (mostly) real area. It was in a livestream
So they tried to remember the exact layout of vault and then gave up and started daydreaming about their favorite characters, relatable
Desert being born from Night's imagination can also tie in with the theory of the TLP spirits being caricatures of the Elders... Just think about it
Interesting idea, especially the desert part. We do know that from at least our perspective the little prince is a fictional character, so maybe the elder somehow heard of him and thought he was real, and their memories of the characters started leaking into the sky world outside of the vault, thus we go around helping Prince out
Ok I guess I didn't need to write all of that stuff lol
oh that is such a relatable feeling
Just to be a little devils advocate here - what evidence do we have that starlight isn't real? Other than being a very long tunnel, what could be made up?
I think starlight desert is ALL real, it just got affected by purple light as well, so it looks weird. Tlp is canon, fight me
I mostly came up with this because Desert being Vault Elder's imagination + TLP spirits being caricatures of the elders is an unbelievably funny combo of theories to me
Like Night just flanderized all the elders including themself
Then who is who?
I'm gonna sound like a dummy for a moment - what do you mean by purple light? I have poor memory, so I don't know what that is or what it means
Somebody else came up with the caricature theory and I can't quite remember who but I'm sure it was one of the lorechat regulars so you should ask them
Elemental power of mind or something
Oh dang I forgot about the elements my bad
The light that creates the tents in forgotten ark! Due to how purple vault is, the fact that it’s found there, and process of elimination on vault not getting any other colored lights, it’s a pretty common idea that the two are connected somehow
That makes a lot of sense, considering vault stores knowledge
Beckoning ruler is isle, star collector is prairie, lamplighter is forest, gloat is valley, slouching soldier is wasteland, and geographer is vault
Sips tea Someone, Explain candles.
Makes sense
a cylinder or block of wax or tallow with a central wick which is lit to produce light as it burns.
I'm ded
Candles produce light, sky kids eat light (something something wax kids, something something alcohol). Being children of light, they can whip their own candles out of their chest.
Yum yum delicious hot wax
They do eat food using their candles, as we can see with grandmas food. Or maybe they just burn it and consume whatever remains
Whenever I think of skykids eating I remember that one fan animation of a lot of moths flying to granmas table and doing random moth things
How does the lore chat always seem to find a way to start talking about food
Are krills edible
They do not taste good so you should not eat them
Yes, and more importantly the denizens of sky would eat them
And wax somehow does
XD
I think of the fan animation that says "waddledees can't eat! See? No mouth!
HJONK.
HE ATE THE COOKIE!?!"
krill propaganda
Have I got delightful news for you about the Kirby anime
Hi! I'm new to the game and I would really appreciate if someone could explain some of the basic lore
blokes here forget to eat
Everyone dies and so will you. That's it. That's the lore.
Just like
Spade has an excellent summary: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
An ancient kingdom fell due to one or more apocalypses, trapping the spirits in darkness and leaving them unable to ascend. skykids cleanse the darkness from the spirits and send them to the stars, where ancestor souls belong. the stuff about the kingdom itself is more vague but they were able to use the power of light, later coupled with power diamonds (like the ones in the forest gates) to perform magic and to power their technology. most agree that the overuse of power diamonds, or “darkstone,” had some hand in tipping the balance of light and dark and causing the downfall of the kingdom
XD
That seems like a bit much...
Entropy's not all bad, it gave us the vault! My favorite sky world
Thanks 🤣💓
In footnotes
- Sky was a kingdom
- Kid fell from the sky and became a king
- King kinda messed up and blew up the entire kingdom (they were not good at their job)
- God decides the solution to one kid who fell from the sky messing up the kingdom is to send more!
- You are one of those kids
the king/Eden Elder is a vague figure whose presence in the game is highly debatable though there are common theories about them. their omni-nonexistence makes them an easy scapegroat in my opinion
(here's a useful Google docs, I'd recommend googling a timeline: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ZWJRGiJSrIXgDvJ4pST61moZbVB_hBExUjOaF-pmOE/edit?usp=drivesdk)
Lore is weird.
yup
so the kid who was the king is the one who created the light and dark imbalance?
I am split between agreeing with you and giggling at scapegroat
What if the real lore is the friends we made along the way
I know concept docs aren't directly confirmable, but most of what we have points fingers at the king. They're the scapegroat for a reason
I was about to take a crack at explaining it before I remembered I have no idea what any of this means
🤔
why did the r manifest at the wrong part of the word
most of what we have like… what? I am curious bc I can’t rmemeber anything that 100% goes yeah they did this
A kid fell from a high place and started doing weird things
Scrapegroat?
TGC: you're not wrong
That doesn’t really answer my question tbh
scapegoat – (n) someone or something who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.
there actually isn't an r in that word at al
my current favorite king interpretation is the whole idea that they were chosen to stop an apocalypse and failed somehow because it was too much, or the methods they used to fix it eventually went haywire (eg darkstone) leading to the current one
I just think it’s neat especially because it fits especially well with Sky’s themes of having to work together to do stuff. Like they failed because they were on their own, but we are doing it well bc we have each other
It's weird - the beginning and ending is in the game, the midsection is in beta or concept stuff. Most of my pointing fingers is that the king was supposed to be present in Eden originally - a dragon, a figure, a whatever. The golden spirit in the center of the storm is the king, so that also paints a picture
And bc tgc hates solo players. It's like a foreshadowing no one knows about outside of lore fans
Sips tea Sky is about putting to rest and sending off spirits to the Great Megabird that is somehow god and a entire system of constellation. The kingdom has collapsed from the greatest of mistakes, over using dark gems that absorbed light. The King may have helped in this with the Elders… and everything goes to hell.
So the elders worked with the king, and the other spirits... are just spirits that lived in the kingdom?
Fun fact! Reportedly there are clips and pictures of the king being in the game! Unfortunately I have never seen anything outside of a weird gif that may just be fanmade
No notes of the King anywhere dating back to even early Sky: LA, I’ve yet to see some noted by old testers even, unfortunately a picture that was circling around was unearthed by a hacker & can’t be discussed in length here
He IS in the game! He's in the starlight desert, his crown is made of crayons, masking tape, and string, and he is extremely reasonable!
Probably, each spirit honestly has a role from their title and how they act. We can see they honestly probably lived their lives before, kids, adults and Teens? Honestly they are honestly able to still function to an extend… since they are bound to a Weird god…
I personally strongly believe that they’re the kid you hug in orbit but. I cannot prove it with evidence that can’t also get interpreted as “that’s a WL that looks weird due to the environemnt”
I see 🤔
The king is a weird presence - we all know they are there, you can see direct evidence they are there, it's just nigh impossible to pin together the gaps (and yes, the orbit kid is implied to be the king)
Imagine there are all the spirits who are named after what they do or what they are good at and then there is this one spirit who's name is idk Kevin or something
||I interpreted that as your spirit returning to your body||
lmaoo
It can be both if you’re brave enough /hj
not everyone had to have a fundamental role in the kingdom's functioning. they could've been residents living their day-to-day mundane lives.
then Eden exploded
Welcome to medieval times Mister Smith the blacksmith, meet Mister Tanner, guess what he does
cheering spectator
I always thought the king is dead and we can't ever meet them because they are dead. Like, really dead. Not even spirit dead. Just dead. Bc all the zones and elders represent the stages of life, and Eden is death, there can't really be somebody alive we meet who is supposed to be dead, can we? And yes, i do belive spirits are partially alive, bc they couldn't ascend
Everyone was living their lives, until it all went to hell
||and everything changed when the fire Nation attacked||
there’s a very specific genre of spirits with the absolute meanest names ever and it kills me each time, because it makes me think that whatever skykid named them had beef with them. eg bumbling boatswain
Apologetic Lumberjack
Dismayed hunter is just me when I've lost my keys
So the king is... we?
“fainting” warrior

DARK IS FASTER THAN ME 💔
A Taller, and more powerful version of us.
there seems to be a pretty consistent theme in murals of important people drawn disproportionately large, so I like to imagine they were 4 feet tall the entire time
By several inches
Slumbering shipwright has to have been named by his boss, right?
talented builder was the one our skykids liked more
The King does appear rather tiny on the largest throne mech suit I’ve ever seen
What throne mech suit?
relatable I also love sitting on top of high things and looking down at people
Concept art, not canon
Oh ok
Imagine if we never meet the king in the mainline story and he is just hiding somewhere like haha they will never know I'm here
I mean we probably won't meet them but still
I wish we could tbh
the shattering intro ouhh
The wounds of the past are never far from sight.
The light around us is in constant motion. Who could not see it? Who could not feel the joy of its movement?
Once, we guided the migrating flocks. Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace. And then we took the light from the wind. The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves. Our cities shone with a captive glow. We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
The world of the present can be healed, but our past cannot be undone. Jagged remnants lie in our wake, and even for the mountain it is too much to hold.
feeling normal rn
Shattering lore drop https://www.thatskygame.com/news/shards-of-the-past-arrive-in-season-of-shattering
Approach points of memory here and use Seasonal Candles to find capes, outfits, accessories, and other items that pay homage to the creatures of Sky.
"points of memory"
My brain just stopped braining
They're hanging out in the penguin suit in the performance area
We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
Pretty much confirms the diamond factory theories
In place of Spirits who once lived in Sky’s towns and villages sharing their memories, shards of Darkness hold glimpses of memories for players to find.
think these are from the Eden eruptions.
I wonder whose memories though.
So not only are we maybe the king, we also have an option to... wear the king... wearing the penguin suit????...
Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace.
I guess the behemoths who were used to hoard their power
(your name) is the king confirmed?
Babe wake up new Sky: Children of the Light lore just dropped
i just find the wording interesting, so memories can conflate in a point ?
perhaps they kept the story point about a conflict between ancestors and light creatures, the behemoths flying in peace with the narrator(s) is spoken of as if it stopped at some point during their existence...
I think it’s less of an outright war like it used to be in concepts and more of the behemoths getting exploited for darkstone thing
FAIR FAIR IM JUST IN SHOCK
The light around us is in constant motion. Who could not see it? Who could not feel the joy of its movement?
OK BUT MY THEORY ABOUT THE RIVER OF LIGHT FLOWING THROUGH THE KINGDOM ---
I mean we do see that exploitation with butterflies. They are constantly getting trapped in the container things for unspecified reasons, but most likely for energy draining, as they are light creatures, and it most likely means death for them
I THOUGHT OF THIS TOO BUT I WASNT SURE HOW TO PHRASE IT
LIGHT = MOTION = CYCLES CANON ??? I AM GONNA LOSE MY MIND I AM RUNNING AROUND THE ROOM LIKE A CAT ON 4AM ZOOMIES
We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
It's Journey all over again
darkstone technology?
YEAH THIS GETS ME TOO
I am wondering what the machines in question are. I think it’s all but confirmed krills aren’t machines, even though it would be cool and it’s all I could think of
Journey is canon to Sky change my mind
my gosh, Shattering being the lore season we've all been yearning for
Once, we guided the migrating flocks. Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace. And then we took the light from the wind. The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves. Our cities shone with a captive glow. We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
FELLAS THEY WENT FROM GUIDING THE RIVERS OF LIGHT TO TAKING THE LIGHT FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR MACHINES THIS IS SO SO SO SO COOL I AM FRANTICALY GESTURING
It was confirmed that Krills are corrupted light creatures... ||BUT THAT DOES NOT EXCLUDE THE POSSIBILITY OF THEM BEING MACHINES (see: Journey)||
shattering is out there about to give us everything we want, i am going WILD and EVIL
Not saying anything, but that guide looks familiar...
krills could be like, manta souls in mechanical bodies or something
We don't really know what they are tho. For all we know they might be. They appear kind of cloudy, to me at least, and I don't quite understand why their eyes work like detectors with light coming out of them
wonder if that's what ancestors were for. they couldn't fly, but they guided flying light. looking at Lively Navigator's spirit memories where they're directing a flock of mantas – invoking an ancient practice?
assuming this is from the ancestors’ point of view. then again, no new spirits.
I’m going a mile a minute oh my oh my
Lurking and reading I am I am
Yeaaaah!! I'm very sure they gotta be like Journey's war machines
YEAH THATS ME RN
WAIT I JUDT REALIZED, THE TAKING LIGHT FROM THE WIND PART IS WHY YOU GET LIGHT/RECHARGED WHEN YOU FLY THROUGH THE WIND IN THE WIND PATHS
OH MY GOD
Birds nest too
Well we did see a manta covered in dark plants inside King Krills dark dimension inside its mouth in season of abyss
👁️ 👁️ 👁️ 👁️
I'm internally screaming because this lore drop is like, extremely barebones but at the same time it's like the most huge biggest lore drop CotL has ever gotten
What is the King Krill tho? For all we know it's a big krill with not one, but a lot of eyes, and it has the Eden post death dark dimension inside of it? How? Why?
The many-eyed leviathan in Treasure Reef
I think the shadow dimension Eden mindspace is like, the place where the souls of all those consumed by darkness go so it makes sense you go there when consumed by the Elder Krill
Been thinking that limbo, as I call it, is a place projected when consumed by darkness.
We have restored the Wind Paths, this was almost inevitable, especially given what happened when the Wind Paths got unblocked in Wasteland
I'll say it again, Flight had a lot of hidden lore
Of course, Flight confirmed TLP is canon after all /hj
So did shattering meteors happen because of what we did in flight ?
I’m trying to think of stuff to say but it’s empty, I am just very happy
Possibly it's darkstone that keeps the ancestors memories alive, we know it's what stops them ascending.
shards of Darkness hold glimpses of memories for players to find
We don't know yet, best we can do is guess (just like always)
Trying to follow, you think that restoring the wind paths lead to Eden erupting?
I thought of this limbo as some personal space after death only existing inside of you and perhaps storing your very essence. We got there from the mouth of king krill bc we are the skykid and we have the ability to destroy the darkness, thus we could get inside and free the manta. That's just my headcanon tho
Wait how?
I kinda think it’s retrospective like Eden has always been doing this eruption in lore, it’s just been recently added to the game kinda like the abyss mine always being there in the world
Wind paths lead to Starlight Dessert
Ooh ok
Yes, indirectly
On the 3rd/4th? Quest if I recall, as we extend the Wind Paths to Wasteland, darkness got sucked in.
As we have been bringing more light to the kingdom and ascending spirits, but the diamond in Eden is still active, possibly still drawing power from those we ascend. I. E. Our remaining light that we cannot gift.
I have the feeling that is what caused the eruption. We have effectively been overloading an already unstable core
what is a "behemoth??"
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
A large thing—probably referring to giant animal like whales
A huge creature, think whale, then go bigger
In this context I would guess it means large light creatures! Like
etc, maybe even larger ones that are now extinct! Like the massive bones in GW
The Windpaths lead to almost all previous new areas, connecting these forgotten locations. The Season of performance exist in the Village below the Colosseum and the Treasure Reef is somewhere outside those paths.
Treasure Reef, to me, is on the far reaches of the Storm. It may be too far for the Wind Paths
there isn’t a path to treasure reef bc flight guide has beef with the abyss crew /j
They do?
Honestly if I have to guess, it’s probably because the crew is outside the Mass of clouds that is around the Kingdom area.
Now that you mention it, why do the abyss crew collect the diamonds, if they are truly that dangerous, or am i getting things mixed up
Diamonds are used everywhere. They are a material used to power a lot of stuff. The Mine probably was once a old prison back then, because from how I see it… it literally contains many beings that exist
My guess was that it is like a post apocalypse scenario for the Abyss crew, they need power, but there are no factories or light creatures, so they barter their saftey for a few scraps of power from a previously forgotten age.
Flight guide’s character card describes them founding the Wind Paths in hopes for a better future. One could imply that Flight guide lived in the darkstone era and knew about the exploitation of light creatures required to mass produce darkstone technology and power diamonds. Treasure Reef murals depict that the facility there did some sort of experiments on light creatures, specifically mantas. By the corrupted creatures there, something went wrong.
Why would someone who opposed light creatures being abused in such a way allow a shortcut from the most light-rich area in the world to a site where light creatures were abused?
In all honesty, the exact locations the wind paths lead to are probably more for convenience than lore reasons. Treasure reef likely just doesn’t have a route because it came after flight, would be my guess — but it is fun to think of story reasons!
Huh, I forgot there are character cards
I always considered flight crew to be pre-darkstone, they still tether manta to boats to fly, rather than using diamonds, and chimes to call birds where the larger bells in prairie and forest call manta and jellies.
I would like to guess that before the Reef was left to decay under water because of the Angry, Abyss Krill.
If a shortcut is eventually added, I think it could be considered as potentially a secret 'underground' path to safety for those light creatures that live there. We do see that despite the facility, it is naturally an incredibly light rich area. Which could be why the facility was initially built there, lots of resources.
I considered them as during the darkstone era and doing those different things on purpose in order to not use it at all. Especially because we don’t see the tether boats anywhere else, even in isle
Perhaps a hybrid of your two theories: Flight's founding occurs at the start of the darkstone era? We do see some elements of darkstone in prairie and forest, so it exists, but Maelstrom is correct that there are none to be seen in Wind Paths.
I certainly think there were hundreds if not thousands of years between the structures and murals showing the "scholar" with the vault headdress, and the abyss crew. By that point kingkrill has become a myth about straying too far from safe waters/clouds
I know! I’m just saying it’s possible that that isn’t a timeline thing, but because the flight crew purposefully refused to use it
Sips tea Can I get some Season of Performance lore real quick.
I need to Know the secrets of why the Performance dudes are able to causally run a Performance hall after all this madness
Are performance guide and rhythm guide siblings?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Have some Isle story lore?
Flight crew were luddites, basically
How so? Do you mean running it after the events of Shattering (current present day) or in the past, are you thinking they ran the theater after Eden's explosion?
imagine ur chilling with ur instrument in prairie social area and u hear a whistling noise and a shard meteor falls on u
Currently.
We are probably talking thousands of years, especially in tumultuous times, arts will be the main way to tell these stories
Madness may be happening but blokes still wanna have fun and escape it or make art about it and to entertain
What if sky is actually just a game 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 that would be crazy I think 🥶 🥶 🥶 🥶 🥶
I do feel for them, they just finished their big performance and are feeling good and now the world starts crashing down.
Well at least they did their thing while they could
Then they somehow are in a everlasting failing performance with other dead people.
Thats tough
Madness, what game designer could come up with these farfetched stories, TGC are clearly archivists relaying what happened long ago
Tgc say the seasons were in different timelines
Debatable
As in different points in time or not happening one after another at all?
They just said different timelines
I think that quote came from a non-English interview?
By timeline, I think they didn't all happen at once, rather they occurred many years apart
Whoever wrote that TikTok comment owes me 100$ & a Belonging bonfire on the side
Oh, this discussion again.
What comment?
how are we feeling about the news post lore chat
It was an official TikTok comment, I’ve never seen it mentioned in an interview. Unless we speak of something else
Let me gather my lore scraps so that I may see them all

I thought it was confirmed that by timelines it was meant as different points on the timeline? Someone here may have a screenshot.
I think so, but it was rather interpreted much, much differently
Hmm, I remember a Japanese? Stream/interview where timeliness were mentioned, but could be it was also mentioned elsewhere.
Dark is correct that it was initially a tiktok comment by the official Sky tiktok which was a reply to someone, and screenshots of that tiktok comment reply made the rounds everywhere a few weeks ago.
Timelines and time travel is the last thing we need in this already messed up lore
I have Cell as my pfp I know what I'm talking about
Ah yes, that's the original!
Yep, I definitely see how that could be wildly interpreted to mean many different things
Here’s the obligatory link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
Glitch3d_jay you owe me 100$ & a Belonging bonfire on the side
Timelines could be interpreted in many different ways
Every time your character meditates you travel irreversibly into a different timeline, with every friend & spirit you've met prior being forever separated from you & doomed to wander cold & alone without your company
I didn't know we were in an Alasdair fic
July is going to be a hectic month that’s all I’m saying.
obligatory since we mentions the tiktok timeline comment again
THANK THE HEAVENS
Thank you Vela! I knew one of the Lore regulars could find it.
Honestly this just makes sense since a bunch of Children are somehow a part of all these groups at the same time.
NEW VIDEO JUST DROPPED IN NEWS EVERYONE
Well we are dead
Just a little one.
ARE YOU A TIME TRAVELER
ITS LITERALLY IN THE VIDEO WELL ALMOST
The gift of prophecy!
Like I said. Prepare for the death of Valley Elder hair wearers
hello lorechat how are we feeling about shattering
I'm shattering hello
Excited but also fear.jpg
no way... THE season of shattering?!?!?!?!??!!?
also i'm just mad about the economy lol
A bit excited, what’s with your username?
I’m so mad, I was going to bully you by tagging you in a reply to the image
I'M FROM THE FUTURE
Oi, I do not touch time travel in my writing
Perhaps
What about the Stealth Survivor Hair Users?
Why does my hair look like this?
I'll shatter to pieces because I can't contain the emotion
THATS WHAT I USED TO WEAR HEY
Why?
Sneaky got dope dreadlocks, don’t you go disrespecting them
Sayan hair = best hair (medalist hair)
anyways don't get too excited
I’ll cause it myself
Oh don’t worry, I use it
it's another season not the end of the world
wait no it kind of is considering the season theme
Yes but lore crumbs for the starved little lore people
Don't worry the next season is season of glue we glue what was shattered
I used to wear it all the way up to the end of Flight, Fire Prophet just made them shorter. Underrated hairstyle, wish more people used it
It's the biggest lore drop this game has ever received which says a lot because it's kinda barebones by general non-TGC standards
every character in universe probably hinks it’s the end of the world don’t worry
Most of the base game hairstyles are criminally underrated by players in all honesty.
holding in beta-only content is painful but i must do it 😔
Not really, the switch trailer and intros are right there
I LOVE this hairstyle, I used to have a couple of combos with it but I’ve forgotten them
I use it sometimes but I'm changing my skid every 5 minutes
not that I have that many cosmetics tho...
I love this hairstyle. Made me quite happy seeing as tho I have locs myself. I got all the loc hairstyles asap

It’s the biggest since Prophecy, but even that’s debatable
Tgc should add saved outfits feature
I'm talking about the season as a whole because [despite not knowing any beta spoilers] I am confident that the rest of the season will reveal A LOT more than Prophecy
I rock the red with the hair style
I cycle between the dreadlocks and the Afro, the latter I have irl. It’s great cos I seldom see black hairstyles as an option in game.
like yeah it’s a decent lore drop, but it’s not the biggest one we’ve ever gotten by far! A fair bit of the stuff mentioned was also in game (the whole overepxloitstion of light stuff) which is a decent change,
edit, why popcorn? I am very tired
i would kill for a feature that let you test out outfits w/ cosmetics you don't own and aren't currently available
Time will tell.
Yeah also testing more than one item at a time
Afro swag
Clothing theories, We need more.
I'm really confident about this. Like yeah maybe time will prove me wrong but I'm about 101% sure the lore drops will get bigger as the season goes on
shards of Darkness hold glimpses of memories for players to find.
im still hoping shattering gets delayed but that's like. a thousand conversations away
EXACTLY
Why
Why? And if you say “cos beta players say it’s bad” then invalid answer
I hope so Leon. Honestly as I’ve said a bit before I really hope they show how this effects the already existing characters in this world, it would make it a lot more realistic feeling and impactful
Not entirely sure if it'll go as far as to actually affect existing characters but... That would be amazing and I can't say that's entirely out of the realm of possibility either
Please don’t make references to beta as it could go into spoiler territory, live players are free to form their own opinion once the season is live
I want this season to truly expand Skykids. This could be the first time they have to solve a problem within a season entirely on their own
They should add guns to sky
We can make AC without going to Eden according to the news so that alone is a big W
Dude we have fireworks, what is worse then burn everything
I'm rooting for y'all to piece together the crumbs of "lore" for us all
Cackling cannoneer is right there
Imagine if the spirits stopped descending during Shattering cos the darkness in the world would threaten to petrify them again.
Empty Harmony Hall.
No lightseekers during sapling quests.
No travelling spirits.
No Granny.
I just realized that the way that I phrased that made it sound like cannoneer IS the gun, not that they have one
YES YES YES YES EDEN IS FIXED YES
Empty Harmony Hall
MELLOW MY BELOVED💔 GONE
Cackling Cannoneer! Transform into gun mode!
I hate that this is a completely reasonable possibility because I would simultaneously be so sad and angry while also knowing it fits perfectly with the events
Wait does this mean we can steal the instruments.
there needs to be more time between seasons in general + the season has the same fault as assembly where it forces players to work together + completing quests relies on RNG for. actually i can't even think of a reason for this it just baffles me
this is all officially-released info, there's more reasons but those are tied to things not announced to live yet
assembly spirit mindset
I'll find the way to make my skid hit yours with a guitar the moment you try >:(
lorechat gets violently attacked by rng: the season
And that's exactly why we need guns
Ahhahaha…. You can’t catch someone you encountered!
I'm a menace to society
Same, I believe I have stole the The Tea reserves of the Prairie
Are you implying Prairie is British
Yes
eden is british (you go there just to speedrun leaving)
i cant form anything coherent abt shattering atm but im very excited to see ppl throw their ocs for a loop
us: can we have resh?
tgc: we have resh at home
resh at home:
will lose my mind if it tyrns out the little crystal thing is tied to the king LOL
Oh wow sky zones slander
that picture is making me really hope they elaborate on how the shards effect the elders bc that does not make it look good
Are the elders the portals?
I do think making AC available outside of Eden fixes the whole problem. Now, Eden is only used for moths to complete the game, which is wonderful. Lapis's one wish is finally achieved: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
does that mean eden can't be british anymore then
So that means my only good Uber trait is ruined?
Eden would be more like Britian, because you go there once, and never again
i'm a beta tester
everyone's free to their own opinions tho
i'm not interested in arguing with you because i shared my opinion
I think the hate on shattering rn is a bit much tho. Like i agree rn it seems like it needs fixes but live isnt out yet. And, the concept of shattering and some things changed/added are nice
Sanctuary, Prophecy, and Prince were all disliked when they were first released, but they eventually grew into fan-favorite seasons. @sonic ocean Do you think the same will happen with Shattering?
Fine, have a good day
there's no need to be so rude, chill
if you can't handle seeing people disagree with you then why are you in a public server
If you want to sulk about the unreleased season, #beta-discussion is right there
According to the news, the shards can be completed solo, thought I'd add that since Assembly actually forces you to have 3 other people
Comes in to lore chat to have a nice chat about the new season dropping
arguments/lh
Don’t make me tap the sign
all i did was state my opinion on the upcoming season based on what's been officially revealed
Kinda beta'y so sorry in advance ||I have totally solo'd the toughest ones in beta so far, they are hard, but not as hard as say trials||
People when opinion: 🥺 🥺 🥺 🥺 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 🤓 🤓 🤓 🤓
Your opinion is heavily biased to what has been revealed to us both in beta, I cannot share my thoughts in detail either yet
and yeah i think shattering has the possibility of being a decent season after all
Sips tea Thank you, Currently Fire trial is a Hell.
I’m exited for cosmetics. I’ve seen them and I like them. I’m just kinda excited for this season, problems and all
I've seen some shortcuts on yt that involve climbing on walls and skipping like most of the trial
Does it involve Friends
my judgement might be flawed but isn't everyone's? i genuinely can't tell why you're arguing with me. is it because i shared my opinion? because i said shattering doesn't seem like it'll be good? besides, no need to be a hypocrite, you said i was pitiful for criticizing the season before it was released
I think most of it involves a piggyback from what I know
Nope just jumping
are you saying i'm not allowed to share my opinion
Not to the the "Devil's advocate" or anything like that but
The reaction against clumsy's opinion was a bit overblown, Alasdair.
There’s way to share your criticism constructively without making others who are excited for the season to feel bad for liking it
Not meaning to interject, but all opinions of gameplay so far are based on beta, which is not always relevant.
There is over 70 days until the season ends, anything could change in that time.
Please try to separate beta feedback from live.
once again: all i did was state my opinion based on what's been officially revealed and without taking beta gameplay into account
i'm not trying to shame anyone for being excited for the next season
can we drop this, please
With respect, no one has said that you need to rely on friends, as was forced in assembly.
Yes I agree, we can drop this 💙
can you please stop attacking me for the heinous crime of stating my own opinion
Guys let’s not attack each other for having an opinion. Put your feelings aside and respect one another.
Hey folks, let's keep things respectful here, we're all adults and there's no need to insult anyone while having these discussions, we can do this in a civil manner while respecting another party's opinions, even if you don't necessarily agree with them.
once again you're saying i'm not allowed to share my own opinion
Clumsy simply said they wished the season could be delayed, and when asked why they replied with pretty reasonable-sounding reasons as to why
It never came off as "it's gonna be bad shame on everyone who was excited" as you're making it seem
This
Lore chat.
I need lores about the elders
Prairie Elder had a latte one time. It’s a recorded fact, I saw it on TV
No time for lore they hate each other
I do get that you’re angry, but given that clumsy is a beta tester, I don’t think that they’re the person you should be angry with — they’ve experienced it themselves.
I do think that judgments should wait until after it comes out but clumsy is fine from what I can tell, they didn’t make me feel bad about being excited.. sorry if this is phrased badly, lots of of anxiety
Please read my message above.
ah, sorry
i'm just gonna. leave
They were Elders from the beginning, Ancestors don't become Elders, the Elders are "the stars that fell"
That's all I remember
HAHSHSHSHHS
Beta testers are testers that make sure everything runs smoothly. Not everything you see in beta comes to live. Which has a multitude of factors, that in itself is a lot to dive into. With that said, let’s keep it civil here and respect one another.
Aren't the valley elders the same being? I remember somebody said they are/were the same person or something
Please move on, @frigid tinsel
Sentient actually
I’m gonna be honest, I mostly agree with clumsy here
This is lore chat, not argue about lore chat
alright putting that aside
what's up lorechat
also the valley elders are a single entity, yeah
Oh I just remembered, the Elder stream confirmed that Valley Elders were "twins" from the beginning, not someone who split
Possibly, I have some thoughts on that.
in game, they're referred to as the singular – Elder of the Valley - but there's obviously two of them, so what's up? some thoughts:
a) they've always been two separate entities but considered equals so referred to as one.
b) they're one entity with two bodies.
c) they're a mini collectivist hivemind; they are two separate entities but can, at some point, lose their individuality and become one mind. However they cannot physically fuse.
d) the actual Elder of the Valley is no longer around (Valley priestess from concepts) so their heirs act as their replacement.
e) they were one entity who split at some point and the kingdom still refered to them as if they're one (implied by in-game foreshadowing). This is why they have one arm and one eye each, because the split wasn’t perfect.
No they’re just anime siblings with one single brain cell
F, they are a "spirit of competition", and building through rivelry
Takiyama there is a kid
“WHATS A SKY KID” “IDK WHAT DOES IT WANT”
“SING A SONG OR SOMETHING”
I heard that lore chat was acting out one of the Eden eruptions, came to witness! /j but seriously, lots of strong feelings all around about the new season, about getting pinged in replies, and about the tone of text messages, so let's all hug it out!
I saw prairie elder drink a latte once. It’s a recorded fact I saw it on TV
If the valley elders are one entity with two bodies in some way
Does that mean they pretended to fight over the skykid’s flame to try and make them laugh
I'm curious if you had that joke scribbled on a notepad waiting to be used or if you just thought it up on the spot
Thank you
extemporaneous
Extemwhat
the joke has always existed. or somethin idk
it just means on-the-spot, improvised
Ooooh ok thx
Not pre-written, but was the extemporaneous also extemporaneous?
adds to my vocabulary
It was foretold in the prophecy and recorded in the murals
so we'll find this all in vault archives now too, excellent
drum beat intensifies
everyone experiences gameplay differently, and everyone forms their own opinions on their own feelings.
it's okay, encouraged actually, to be excited about the new season. as revealed in teasers, this season brings with it new mechanics and departs from the usual season structure.
however as a beta tester who has experienced the current state of the season, it's perfectly reasonable to be apprehensive about its release. things can, and probably will change from beta to live, nothing is quite yet set in stone. i don't want to spoil anything that hasn't already been teased, but there are some, lackluster parts of the season. i just hope they will be strengthened in live.
everyone can have their own opinions on the season. everyone has their own opinions on past seasons. you don't need to agree on something to respect others.
sorry for inserting my two cents in a topic that has already past by now, this chat moves way too fast lol
actually that reminds me - are the various writings seen in sky a conlang, a special font, or nonsense? i guess we'll never know........
I need to go read the blog post for the lore and watch the season teaser. I'm already miles behind lore chat
Imagine an update comes out where we can read the books in vault and it’s all gibberish except this one page
“Note to self: extemporaneous”
With no context
Nothing major really just some stuff about using creature energy and light going thru the entire world or something is nearly confirmed
woo
One of the main issues for working that out is we only have a few characters, and they are only on certain places, mostly bells, and in the base of the Abyss tower
That, clumsy, is a topic for @💜EVarmyFairy_Alani#4236 OH COME ON THEYRE NOT HERE
fair, fair
it's a topic for me now (incorrect i know nothing about anything)
I think there is a pin with the detailed writings on
There’s a person I know who’s been trying to solve Sky language for months now. Bless their soul
We talk about things that happen in the sky world but we forget one important thing. We know it's a planet. We've seen the planet and space. Are there other planets? Are there sky aliens?
I have never stepped foot in this channel. But some referred here in gen chat, so hello and where should I start reading at?
Read the dealie watched the dealie. Sounds like they are actually adding the lore back in hum? I still doubt he will make an appearance but goodness. To hear actual story mentioned sent wishful thinking higher.
Just ask for some links and you are good to go
tlp has the little prince himself but also i don't think his existence is canon
i would love to see a season where we get to leave the world of sky just for little a bit
Welcome to #lore-discussion-spoilers!
Here we have..
65% talking about Sky with like a slight lore-y vibe
25% sharing headcanons
10% talking about lore
Just jump in and theorise on your experience ingame I find is best, then read other theories and have a new experience, rince and repeat
100% gay
There is also wooly manta as the mascot of this channel and it’s very cute
I've discussed him being canon or not with somebody else I don't remember I'm too sleepy but he might be bc the desert is canon bc the wind paths
5% wooly manta
i just had the most idea ever. hear me out ok
wooly skykid. wooly spirit
Bearhug hermit
saluting protector
anyone have a skykid composition pic?
I wish for a full woolsuit
wooly butterfly
I don’t have a pic but I have a tl;dr write-up if you want it
I doodled some wooly manta in #sky-fanart-sketches-and-art-chat earlier but maybe I should have shared them here
I see I missed a party apparently
/lh
Anyway, just ran Eden, got so far in and suddenly there was this red search light thingy. Kinda like a krill light except not. Anyone got any idea what it is?
... Don't mind me.
steals Wooly Manta
Maybe a bug or something, doubt that usually happens
Haven't done Eden in a while and after what was revealed in news I don't think I'll return in a good while
Im not sure theres a way for this season to NOT end in edening though
Lore chat how are we feeling
It’s an indication of an oncoming intense rain, you should RUN 🏃♀️
It's not as bad as it seems. If anything it's easier than before. The meteor hell storm is no longer truly endless meteor hell. By the time you start crawling you're very far in, and crawling didn't stop me from getting to the final kid (so long as you have an ounce of self preservation and patience of course. Leeroy Jenkins will not serve thee well)
We're shattering to pieces
Like everything I already know is finally just becoming actually in the game.
Hello, lore moth! Use this document to get familiarized with a small bit of Sky lore.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
:)
It's not because of that, I know it's been made easier, it just because in Shattering we'll be able to get AC out of Eden
Also King and Mega.
Already talked about this somewhere waaaaay up there but basically light creatures exploitation, light goes thru entire world or something and machines/factories nearly confirmed
I think it's good to experience new Eden, at least once. The statues are awesome. There are some statues that have two skids holding one another. Angst lovers will be happy to know you only get to save 1
Yeah I just added the image as a reference to what I’m asking about
Oh yeah saw that one here already, very angst indeed
To that I counter that they’ve become one, intertwined together, I want to pretend that I’ve saved them all
Thank you! And thank you so much to the other advices as well! I’ll backread on some things. Glad to be here
It shows where the rain is most intense or something else? By the time I got to it the storm was pretty intense, so I was having a hard time feeling out the timing
To the other thing: I went in with my friend, so we just said we both saved the other skid
Loopholes
Combating angst with the power of friendship
https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ZWJRGiJSrIXgDvJ4pST61moZbVB_hBExUjOaF-pmOE/mobilebasic
One thats mostly quotes from an old livestream but mentions important things. Lacks new info like krills being corrupted or animal masks representing characteristics or roles of spirits.
…did u write this? And this the only part? It says part one@sharp lichen
there were more parts planned, but currently that's the only one
Sips tea Sky lore is diving into what I like to call “Flip who did this and why did they exploit Dark gems?!”
It’s very hard to notice until it’s too late, it’s a sign that you’re about to get hit with an intense wave, the normal waves don’t hit you as hard as those waves do
baud is this the one you were writing with other people?
Good thing we found a nice rock to hide behind. I was extremely cautious because of the new crawl and 'no more honk relights' thing going on. (crawl ain't half as bad as I feared tho)
No more honk relight? That’s horrible
Does anyone else think that the final area in forest is like a memory of forest where the light creatures souls are ascending? The lighting and area looks similar to when ||the light creatures ascend as you travel through the ruins of Eden right before orbit|| and it’s weird to have a healthy forest right next to the temple when up until that point it is progressively being destroyed in each area
Yeah, the last section has become more strategic rather than a mindless rock pelting frenzy
Maybe, but we see the creatures traveling through valley so idk
It was a collaborative effort. I’m planning to make a part 2, which focuses more on Eden, but I’m not too sure if I should do it. There’s so little lore surrounding it
It made Eden a lot more fun honestly. Might continue to run it even with the new methods just because it gets the brain juices moving
Sips tea Say this to literally every ending area but Wasteland.
hey gamers, you interested in the sky lore? cool. then you should uh. y'know, it would be great if someone could try explain it to me because ive been playing for years and still understand nothing.
Sky lore is 'vague' and 'open to interpretation' by design. Despite having very little, it still covers a wide range of topics. It's easier to help you if you're specific about what you want to learn first.
Civilization, lived with nature, exploited nature, made power diamonds, big Eden diamond go booom, everyone dies
Putting spirits to rest and sending them off into Space and being send back down to travel across timelines to see the past.
that actually helps a lot
Timelines???
The broadest stroke is that each realm represents a part of life's journey.
Also something terrible happened in the distant past which stopped life's journey for the spirits being a cycle.
Then there’s king, prince and megabird and whatever elders were doing before the mass dying
((Two shields theories I’m looking at you))
We are light beings that are part of god. And just trying to repeat the cycle of living, dying, and doing it all over again.
And also The King is also the first skykid thing that grew up and did a bad
The lore possibilities are massive
Is that confirmed or just a popular theory?
I have no idea. I just go off how much stuff is said
tjamkyou
OH AND ALSO DARK PLANTS LIVE ON CORPSES THEORY AKSBDJKSOS
The possibilities are truly endless
hey, that’s mine! :-)
Yeah, the downside of lorechat is that 'up to interpretation' means you get a lot of fanon. Not even because people are actively trying to mislead you, they're just trying to theorize. But I made a joke a couple days ago, and someone took what I said as 'definitely confirmed'
THAT’S YOURS??
I haven’t joined in lore chat antics for so long I forgot😔
Bruh we all know that dark creatures and dark plants love places of death.
This can help! https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit Remember that Sky lore is still open to interpretation
yeah! It is a bit more complicated than that but generally the same
Same, just same….I remember making Megabird Candle Headcanon….
What are the little lore about eden that was said?
Iirc then I was a part of that conversation too
Good times
I am feeling pretty anxious at the moment so ty for mentioning it, it cheered me up that it’s memorable! :-)
There’s less that’s actually canon, so I’m worried that making a document on Eden would just result in the collection of popular fan theories
Sanctuary proved that crabs can be peaceful, can be corrupted and things just opened waghhh
Nice, I remember the amount of trouble I caused…. I hope no one digs it up since it so wrong.
People have died there
That is all
Eden could probs work better as a small part of a bigger doc
wdym? I hadn’t really seen this idea before I made the theory; I’ve seen places of darkness (duh) but not death in the way I described it. Admittedly I am most likely not the only person who thought of it so I feel less confident claiming it All as mine vs my other theories, but still
Basically spirits had a King who found a stone that eats darkness but it powers up their tech so they kept doing that but it corrupted their very skykid looking king into a tyrant, and he went missing but the giant light cluster in space called megabird saw that there was a catastrophe which is why everyone is dead, maybe? And sent skykids as both the new generation to inherit it and the freeers of the trapped dead people.
Also thank you, I’ve read through it. It was interesting to read, would like to know some thoughts on the krills being corrupted
just a quick note that the king bit of this (like the corruption and tyrant part) is a concept art thing but idk if it carried over, i can’t think of much obv evidence for it in current game
We actually know the krills are corrupted for sure. It's in a Q&A of theirs. Anyone got the link?
Also when sky devs posted the ears of Eden photo I was shocked because 2 years ago I was joking with my friend about how Eden is king’s body ✨
Krills being corrupt was confirmed during a dev Q&A. We don’t know what they looked like before, but my bet is on the switch trailer caravan critter.
i have just learned more about this game in the last ten minutes than i have in the last few years of me playing, thank you
I've just been messing around pretending to understand, lol
That's all lorechat does too lol
I misread the krill in this comment as king and was so confused for 30sec
Is that the bird that’s pulling the boat in the trailer?
Its ok theres not actually lore in this game yet. BAHAA!
I guess this is from awhile back…. The Dark creatures and plants are around places once roam by a lot of light beings. This has changed over time I am guessing… The Dark beings come from darkness, but light chases a shadow sometimes… a Shadow that can consume the world when light flickers the wrong way…
This thing
I like to think that uncorrupted krills and crabs were light creatures, like mantas, but they had a very small amount of capital D darkness within them. The “calamity” that killed the Sky civilization amplified it giving us dark dragons and dark creature crabs
But that’s just my take on it
We were robbed of this in game 😔
It’s dead sadly
Luckily the sky animation will give us seal pubby
Aahhh okie gotcha
A baby one also appears in “sky animation teaser”
They erased its horns and Im gonna be eternally salty about it.
Behold! Seal pubby the beloved! TGC needs to give us an update on the animation progress. Anything resembling a date would be lovely. Even 'early/late -year-'
Omg it me but sky version
Wait is
juicer a banned word now????
It would give us so much lore
Animation is in a rough place right now and animation is as expensive as ever. Hope this eas not gonna be this things only reveal.
TGC dropped the reveal trailer and dipped like Tuxedo Mask
We love you, server censor /deep sarcasm
Mantatee I cant see the second emoji. Making sure the word was not that.
Oh cool, would like to read it when it’s found. Thanks
juicer is a banned word-
NOOOOOO
Manta smoothie maker
yOOOOO
“Our story is about the ruining of nature. Oh but don’t mention things that sound like nature is getting ruined”
Manta light extraction machine is a lot more annoying to say
guys do you know how sad it is, that y'all have said "
juicer" enough that it's BANNED??
People got the word toe banned before. It's all about context
Well it was describing a cool abyss mural which is very exciting to lore chat
I just tested an insect word and its still banned.
Ⓜ️🅰️N🇹🅰️
Season of Abyss has some good lore from what I seen
🇯 🇺 🇮 🇨 🇪 🇷
Not sorry
Lorechat loves murals
I was here when Raider attempted everything under the sun to say that insect word and got scolded for 'trying to circumvent the censor'. It's not even because the first part is a body part. It's literally the insect because some people ruined it for everyone else. The mod explained when I asked
Nothing newish but lots of using stuff we already knew.
Sadly I missed abyss but love the murals and mining stuff
Beeg dark fibsh hehehehehh
And the The Monster of a Krill
Raider got muted once for testing the skybot censor iirc
but like specifically jUICER LIKE 😭😭💀💀 i expect nothing less
Yeah I remember a lot of things getting banned but I was just trying to think of another way to describe the machine not break rules
Mixer?
Man I would love a manta light extract process for my ielts writing task 1
I think it's specifically the two words together that are banned. Mom is fine, but if you were to put a specific y word in front, the censor would smack it. It knows how to get phrases
Well ya know when you have a lemon and make lemonade but with mantas…
Maybe they banned it because people read the mural wrong and it actually is adding something to the manta
Darkness
Darkstone derived liquid for growing big strong mantas
“The diagram below shows the process for extracting light from mantas.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.”
Imagine sky ielts tests😭
Is light even liquidy?
People probably got upset about the imagery but it’s in game so idk
We can see spirits holding lights in game but not liquid so idk maybe not
Ashes
There’s some kind of darkness liquid but no idea about light. Was just trying to think of another purpose for the “juicing” chamber like adding chemicals in there instead of extraction. Extraction seems more likely though
Well I mean when the cry emote happens we have glowing tears, liquid light?
have yall read the little bit of dialogue thing at the beginning of the next season announcement?
The wounds of the past are never far from sight.
The light around us is in constant motion. Who could not see it? Who could not feel the joy of its movement?
Once, we guided the migrating flocks. Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace. And then we took the light from the wind. The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves. Our cities shone with a captive glow. We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
The world of the present can be healed, but our past cannot be undone. Jagged remnants lie in our wake, and even for the mountain it is too much to hold.
- from tgc announcement post
Oh my starry elders!
I mean, it literally says in the concept art that light is extracted amd infused into power diamonds
@timid helm
Sigh so much work 💀
Anyways so I watched a YouTube video recently and it said that before Eden became Eden it was a kingdom that sole purpose was to spread light throughout all the realms
you are the best, @crystal cape!!

The seasons of shattering...
Darkness is coming.
Eden and the full of krill is coming.
This means.... WAR!!!
Nah it just means gather all your light and fly fast 😂
I have a theory if sky is a kingdom abt light and krill is the villain in our world shouldn’t we have children of darkness yk what I think I think TGC should redo sky giving us the option of being a child of light or a child of darkness
I wholeheartedly believe prophet of air would shove a skid off the platform in wind trial and find it hilarious
Bonus points if they start frantically honking as they fall
i just pictured this in my head, i love it
Anybody has a pic of the
juicer mural?
After I struggled enough to finish the last quest in Abyss i honestly avoid that place... Traumatising
Hey silly question but (shoot i forgot about slowmode)
does anyone have a summary of the Flight spirits personalities? It can be official or common fan interpretations or even just your own personal headcanon but i kinda wanna write a one shot for my fic about the skykiddos heading 2 the wind paths
bonus points: skykid doesn't fall at first and only realizes they're in midair when they look down
chimesmith is super neurodivergent
Thank you, I don’t think I saw that part of concert art
also i mentioned rine has a friend well here they are
weapon of choice is spears but sky doesnt have those as a cosmetic
i don't know how much of this aligns with what's canon in game, but I'd like to think that the whole mechanic of finding spirits and their memories represent how skykids are trying to retrace/discover the history of the Kingdom, sort of like with archaeologists finding fossils
i think it's like, a really big creature, so probably the mantas - or the krills??? i read before that it's probably a sort of "blinded by technology" thing from the last part
Whales
Behemoths likely whales
I think maybe the behemoths would include beeg bois you see in Sanctuary Islands and also the beeg boi in Wasteland entrance and the one that smashes the pillar up to eden
Theres no juicer mural from what I remember
But have this
Hmmmmm iirc it isnt really implied? Correct me if Im wrong
Well I saw one of the tgc staff put a comment about sky timelines. and something like playing history at different times.
I don't have a screenshot sadly, but it was in a twitter or facebook on the season of shattering quite a while ago
Maybe this? Light creature juicer is thought to be the forest temple, with the golden thing above that turns when you sit down to meditate removing light from the creatures and the diamonds in the doorway as you leave are the charging power diamonds
Can someone give me context to this sky meme going from the upcoming season lol
if you're talking abt the meme format itself, it's a redrawn meme of ralsei from deltarune.
i'm guessing the person in this image is the king, but i don't see how it relates to anything in the next season
Ohhh thanks! it’s all over the reply section of sky’s official twitter account so I was confused 🙂
ohh i just checked. that's hilarious
yeah that's definitely the king, people are posting it because the next season is mostly eden-focused and the king is the eden elder
How many skykids have noticed a red spot light wandering about in the later half of the eden area?
It is practically in the area right in front of the crystal and seemingly is coming from said crystal.
yeah! it's kind of like a marker to show where the next wave of rocks will hit more intensely
It is?
Huh interesting
this is the King?
That guy does not look like the King statues from GW. That could just be some random Shattering spirit or something
there's no spirits in the next season, it was mentioned in the blogpost. the helmet and cloak look like the concept art of the king, and several comments that posted the twitter meme did say that it was the king.
Damn
Lore wise it supports a theory we have that the diamond is sentient or smth of the sort
As for mechanic wise yep its a marker to show where heavy rain would be
Heres a map by B A T T M#8888
Thanks for the map, it looks fantastic!
I am starting to wonder if the light is possibly the King's or some creature we have not met, or even just the crystal.
(Or the King in the crystal, perhaps)
Reminds me of that concept art about planned eden
Exactly!
Thank you, Zhii/Ran!
You have the right idea going on. :)
Even if it is red, the Crystal can glow white. And with the Krill's light changed to red, the spot light possibly being the King's is a likely theory.
Is it possible that the void where we see the white skid is inside the crystal? I mean its also where we see the yellow beam after we hug the skid and diamond is situated within the light beam 🤔
The void is an interesting area of the game, despite being, well, Vast and Empty like a void would be.
There may be more to the void in the season that could link it to Eden, the Home death room, and even the Prophecy trials.
Especially since those could very likely be places in the Void.
Perhaps the Elders are also considered to be in the void?
Though that idea can quickly cause arguments based on how Wasteland and Valley's areas are very detailed (also that we can access most of them via OOB. Although we are intended to meditate in)
As well as Dawn and Day's areas have the eden mountain in view.
Each Elder's void is personalized /j
can confirm. have fun
Bobbit
Crabs originally were peaceful, until humans/spirits/whatever started draining and exploiting water where the crabs lived, so they became defensive of their territories. It was on the murals in crab cave at the forgotten ark
Crabs live in many parts of the sky kingdom, do you think this is exactly what happened to the sanctuary crabs both where the darkness plant is and at the island?
Not really, I mean it's understandable why they are so aggressive at the ark, there is no water at all, as for the other zones there is a lot of water such as forest, yet they are still enemies, and the dark plants are there too
Perhaps Forest crabs are like that due to their exposure to the rain. The rain might have some Darkness mixed into it hence the abundance of dark plants and the aggressive crabs
Yeah that seems likely
that's why it burns
Hc: The reason why the pools of water doesn't burn is because the light shrooms purifes the darkness from the rain therefore making it harmless when it reaches the ground
Does creature in sky bleed? If they does what color they bleed?
They probably do bleed but not in the same way as irl stuff. Light creatures probably "bleed" Light if they get injured
The most likely creatures in sky to bleed are crabs. Not only are they the closest to irl creatures, we've also seen them getting cooked in GW, tho there doesn't seem to be any blood where the stick goes thru them, maybe it just was removed by the spirit or something idk I'm not a cooking expert
It may be difficult to make an accurate investigation on this as the game may not include blood to maintain the family friendly rating.
Without that rating, the game may have trouble establishing that any person can enjoy sky, regardless of age, race or gender.
The closest may get to this effect would be the dark plants attaching to creatures, or the darkness falling of corrupted creatures.
One may suppose that blood may be present in ancestors, since they do bare a strong resemblance to human beings.
As for flying creatures, it may depend on how world of Sky would approach this.
It could either be blood, or some kind of liquid. Or even just light in one form or another.
One may also include birds.
They look too white and bright, as if they are made completely out of light and lack physical body
True, though that is partly because of the game's limitations.
Small creatures tend to become simplified. Causing them to loose details and may appear different the birds they represent.
This is most apparent when it comes to the game rendering hundreds of them flying in a space. As well as compared to a handful of other birds seen landing and flying about.
While these two models are entirely different, in terms of how they react and move to the player. However, they both represent the same species of creature.
Unless I am mistaken, it is the only creature in Sky that is presented in this way, as any other creature would have one model to represent the same variant of the creature. Even if us skykids tend to nickname them as paper birds, and then normal birds, while the represent the same creature.
Come to think of it, it is very ironic for the birds in Sky to be scarce, yet we see many of them in places throughout the realms. As well as they have a larger and elder variant. Yet the larger birds are only seen as fragments to collect in the season of flight quest, and the elder bird that has not returned since season of Rhythm
Seeing that the greater birds cannot count as creatures when presented only as fragments, and the elder bird is missing.
Should the bird in sky be considered an endangered species due to there being only small birds, and no larger variants are present in the game?
Hey what’s the purpose of red light from enchantment?
Had a thorough discussion in the chat a good few conversations ago but I think it was agreed that it represented the element of illusion/concealing (as the other lights from enchantment represent different elements in spell form: orange light is fire, dark blue is water, etc. Purple light is knowledge)
I recommend backtracking, I've just been reading over the past conversations in this chat and my brain needs to catch up with my eyes
In very old chats it was void, at one point illusion/concealment, at certain points darkness
HEY SO remember when we were all wondering what the ancestors made their clothes out of?
feathers are a fine material
Obviously they bought them in ancestor clothing stores 🙄
ALSO when recharging, the capes sky kids wear seem to have a sort of feather-y pattern to them (picture 2 is the most obvious for this). Assuming the sky kids are wearing the same stuff the ancestors were (material-wise that is) I think this is good evidence for the idea that the ancestors made their clothes mostly from feathers
These 2 masks makes your face turn kinda blueish why is that
They are from valley, it has snow and ice, and the helmet thingys are white which yellowish masks wouldn't look good with
ah, true!
wait, no!
Aw don't say ancestors were overproducing feathered clothes from bird feathers.
It would take a lot of birds. Like, a lot
This is what we use wooly mantas for
What's a wooly manta
look what I made!! Idk if this is canon so lets just call it a fan theory about light creatures evolution and life cycle
OOOOOOOO I love this
Ngl I have this little theory where in the event of there being more than one Sky kingdom besides the one we are in, there may have been some big wind paths like the ones you see in the Flight area as well as boats to travel between kingdoms as a mode of transportation of light creatures, spirits, skids, and the like
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
They’re a concept of an extremely fluffy manta that lived in the Wind Paths, which is why the Flight cosmetics are so different.
They’re essentially the mascot of lorechat
In this little theory of mine, the other Sky kingdoms are different in the way that (besides the obvious calamity not happening there) they represent different aspects of life
Thank you for blessing me with this knowledge
👁️ 👄 👁️
mwhahaha
Can we all agree that if grandma was the ruler of sky instead of king the kingdom wouldn't be in ruins
It would probably evolve unimaginably fast too
Hi, has there been attempts to interpret or de-construct what the lines in Shattering announcement mean (behemoths, machines, wounds of the past...)?!?
Let's take a look
I think it’s about the things the Ancestors did in the past sneaking up on us and affecting us in the present
Gosh darn it Elders and their power
Agreed
The mountain holding bad remnants of the past reminds me of how we store nuclear waste in mountains
The we in the text may be the Ancestors, based on the content of the text, and the game having written in this style before in the starting cave at Dawn's opening murals.
The light (uncapitalized) being in motion may refer to the former cycle of life for the light/stars/motes of Sky.
The behemoths may be the elder creatures in Sky.
"[W]e took the light from the wind."
This could be a reference of the laughing light gathering spirit. With the ancestors catching light that may fly by, carried by the wind.
"The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves."
This might be Elders that were living in the temples. Especially with their temples being prominent landmarks (more so with the Eden castle, though still).
The machines the text is referring to, could possibly be creations designed to capture the light. Such as the Forest temple. Or the old concept art that showed stone fish like creations that seemingly capture the light, even if the creatures never showed up in the game (I am personally holding out hope they do get added to the game at some point or another).
Regardless, "machines that bind and hoard"
This could be the power diamonds that attune to the light, and store its energy.
By hoarding the power, the balance would be disrupted enough to cause calamity.
The last line does intrigue me though.
I wonder if this implying that the mountain is possibly capped with the ruins of the ancestors. And it may erupt like a volcano.
Especially if the light is an allegory of water.
Particularly that it is said that water has memory, it regenerates and procures life. It is eternal and yet still a precious and limited resource that is prone to pollution.
@slate saffron
This is from the latest news for the Season of Shattering.
https://www.thatskygame.com/news/shards-of-the-past-arrive-in-season-of-shattering
I took a screenshot because it is easier to read and it stands out more.
This is a random thought, though one that I find very interesting.
If the Megabird is made of the Light, and without it, the Megabird is no more.
I wonder if this kind of character may be similar in design as the ocean being a character.
In the film, Moana, the Ocean itself acts as a character.
If the Ocean is made of the Water, and without it, the Ocean is no more.
By that same token mind you XD
A corrupted King would be similar to the goddess te fiti when she also got corrupted.
Moana would be like the skykids trying to set things right.
Maui could be the elders, lol
(I'll stop before someone decides to draw Tsadi as Maui!)
Same. I wonder if that's what's happening here?
After all we know that the process to produce darkstone & harvest light resulted in harmful waste-products that had an adverse effect on the environment overall (such as the pollution in the Golden wasteland, the growth of darkness plants, the corruption of the crabs as indicated by the murals in the season of enchantment, the emergence of the krill from the remnants of the light creatures harvested as indicated by the murals in the season of abyss, etc) with the more volatile remnants requiring containment (as was shown in season of abyss).
We also know that the more industrialized a region was the greater in abundance these waste-products are. We also ALSO know that in eden specially the darkwater seems to have been able to crystallize to form the red shards that line the interior of pipes & areas where dark water flows freely (with these crystals seeming to have a great deal of resemblance to the darkness shards the upcoming season will be focused on)
So, what if the eruptions in the upcoming season are like something akin to radioactive waste? With the waste product the ancestors had produced finally becoming too volatile to contain, violently ripping through whatever was storing it & launching itself into the storm to be hurled across the kingdom sorta like how in real life if you leave radioactive waste in a concrete box for too long it explodes!
My take on the mountain holding bad stuff is that since the Eden beam goes through it, it might’ve been corrupted at some point with either waste or bad memories? I am not sure
Hot topic but for ancestors
unrelated to the upcoming season, i think skykids can see ultraviolet light
Joke substance from those red eden crystals
ooh were we posting thoughts about the shattering teaser
mark of the beast
SHDMDBDMFB
I am so worried for you all
tl;dr: [ancestor voice] our actions have consequences and you are about to deal with them
the light escaped its captivity long ago, it is free, even though once upon a time it wasn't. everything has returned, as best it can, to how it was once - long before civilization. it is not perfect, it is not exactly like the past, but it is close enough.
once upon a time, it was taken, it was used to power technology and it was used to power civilization. but pride brings with it an eventual fall.
the ancestors are not around to deal with any consequences of their (in)actions that they were not able to deal with before they passed on - but the rest of the world still has to deal with said consequences
eden is coming towards us with a steel chair
Skykids need to unionize. They’re cleaning up after a mess they didn’t cause and now are dealing with the ancestors’ crap multiplied tenfold. They need therapists and a vacation.
Ah yes, a new long awaited spirit, Needed Therapist
Haha funny news reaction how about that
DoR: Happy pride! You matter!
Shattering: perish
Eden mountain mad that pride month is over
diversity loss, the eden mountain is homophobic
The Eden mountain posts those crunchy Facebook memes about how they don’t care what gender or sexuality you are, they hate you all equally
Sky: celebrates pride with Days of Rainbow
Eden mountain:
diversity win! the threatening crystal that is about to explode is nonbinary
So I found something today
If u take a pic in the ||rebirth field|| and put the picture in Negative lights mode . U get the actual shade of color that looks like Deepwater Abyss floor.
(I can delete if it's not the right chat, I can also provide picture context)
In comparison.
I just find it cool that the colours look Polar Negative from each other yet mesmerising.
Probably won't add anything to the lore but I just find it so cool that two places look similar in Negative lights.
Could further show how opposite to the Light/Orbit the Abyss is
True
(Also nice name btw)
any month can be pride month if you're filled with hubris
True. July is Disability Pride Month
hi lorechat it’s been a while
Hewwo
Hi fish
Fish 👋👋👋 long time no see, welcome back
Fish is alive!

He’s got the fancy nitro
Abyss + wasteland green as anti-Light confirmed!
Sky x Moana ?
icon broke tho 😔 i’ll fix later
Aw man, no worries
Here some fish food for the mean time. 🟤
Season of shattering is a gender reveal party
Harmony Hall’s mural got changed
It would be interesting to see how many skykids would either go with the ||Light, the Dark, or even the in between.||
True, as ||this season we get a lot of dark themed cosmetics||, as if there is an option ||to be on the team dark|| as I like to call it
I'm definitely not taking ||dark plant cape|| off if I get my hands on season pass (even tho ||the ultimate light cape|| is amazing too and probably my 2nd fave)
Ok this spoiler text thing is awesome how did not find out how to use it earlier
https://www.thatskygame.com/news/shards-of-the-past-arrive-in-season-of-shattering
Pst, the spoiler tags are still greatly appreciated.
I think with this on TGC latest announcement, we may be able to discuss the cosmetics.
Spoiler tags may be a thing for the next couple of days, lol
oi @pastel brook
Do we need to say moth to summon you each time, just like skykids need to summon the days of rainbow guides every now and again?
Moth
Guess not.
Welp, here is to the smallest Days of event of the year.
what moth
ok too short
says it's online
what is a moth
say the line skybot
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
Must be AFK
I take it back, lol
||I think they were bigger in beta, the 3rd one at least||
The bot reminds me a bit of rumpelstiltskin.
We say moth three times and it appears.
Or even Beetlejuice, but with moth.
Moth, Moth, Moth.
Skybot what are mantas?!
Skybot what is the exact lore of sky?
i wonder if this one still works
sky wedding
SKYBOT WHAT IS THE MASS A SKYKID TELL ME
Skybot who is grandma
Skybot what is a krill
“Let’s get married in Sky.”
I guess it's knowledge stops on what a moth is
Truly a wonder of technology
If Skybot had a readied response to lore questions, I think I would cry for a multitude of reasons
SKYBOT, CAN I KRILL THiNGS?
if alex removed that particular response from skybot's script, it means they saw the food crime discussion
How does the command to krill people work?
The lore of the lore chat is more interesting than the lore that is supposed to be discussed here
lore chat lore
10/10 I want to eat those so bad
They're good and healthy
that's a crime but i forgive you
Sips tea I have a certain piece of lore for the chat to my name… and I will not talk about the Candle scam employed by Megabird to destroy lives to be employed to him for an eternity.
Mad because you cannot experience the joy of cucumber sandwiches, aren’t you
i can eat things that can scare you
Why is there ground in the sky they should remove all the ground and only leave the clouds and sky in the game tbh
I can eat things that when you hear about them you feel like you are receiving a warm hug
Wait till they hear about seeded bread (80% seed, 10% grain and 10% tooth aching kernels)
bread for birds!
Indeed
We need water then, 7/10 water
Second worse lunch food, falling just short to Marmite.
Flood the entire world, and then make it 3/10 cloud for a epic jumping and diving adventure
I JUST SAW THIS AND I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THIS ARTSTYLES, IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!
There is a sky ripoff called ocean
There is a prequel to sky called Journey: Sand.
I thought it was just journey what
tasted vegemite, it's mildly unpleasant even with butter
Honestly cannot fathom how folks would enjoy edible tar on bread.
Any Pimento Cheese enjoyers here? The perfect food for Assembly field trips and literally anything else.
I just throw a brick of cheese into the microwave 10/10
Cheddar is just tasty cut.
What does grandma make her food with
At least I didn’t burn grilled cheese today
Fire, Ashes, and loving souls.
Love 💙
And the souls of the people who insult her food
Jenova Chen said in an interview that skykids' favorite food is "light mochi," so I like to think that's what Granny makes. irl mochi is made of rice flour, so maybe they have a little rice paddy somewhere. maybe some skids maintain it for them when they're not around.
Ohh that’s a cool idea
I want to know what it tastes like
And just there’s other plant life that’s just light so it makes sense. There’s the flowers and the light blooms for example
im curious what rice paddies or wheat fields would look like in sky, a field of those flower orbs we find throughout the game would look so pretty ! maybe thats what is beneath the clouds in prairie...
Maybe that's what Prairie would be if phones didn't become mass destruction explosives whenever there's more than 2 clouds on the screen
There’s also a farm behind the Forgotten Ark, although idk what would grow in there
bloom 100
guess we gotta wait for Days of Bloom 2023 to see more of Sky's plantlife
Season of Agriculture when
Now I want a sky based location with maybe a bakery there where we can try grandma's light mochi
And maybe there would even be some lore related secrets like an ARG or something
Where is the wheat field in which my child can frolic?!
Rice Fields
Both work
Some say they are siblings, some say they are one entity in 2 bodies or something. We can say for certain that they share a connection. I've already asked that question yesterday so let me find the answers
There it is
And some more below that
I think they’re referred to as Elder of the Valley and not Elders
Well, they supposedly count as one according to the old Elder Stream, but the specifics of how much individuality does each have is debatable
So i mean it’s whatever you want it to be no matter what bc no one says you HAVE to follow the canon exactly
Ppl here do that???? Yikes…
Usually not
Ohhh shipping???
What interpretation is that exactly?
Edit: Oh.
Well, thats a tough one
Well, again, they are confirmed to be one entity, so not sure how would that work
Most people here refer to them as "twins" because a) they look identical and b) their cutscene just screams "sibling rivalry"
we talking about Valley Elder(s)– oh nvm blokes wanna ship them
I think the devs calling them twins kinda "confirms" they count as siblings, but since the lore is up to interpretation, you could put a disclaimer they are not siblings in your art and move on to arting.
Most of the vitriol is aimed at people that ship them as siblings
I don't wanna test the censor to mention the precise term that gets people all uppity about shipping them, but yea
it's all up to your interpretation, the most popular is chaotic twins but if that's not the case in your fic, a disclaimer will do the job
Yeah pretty much. It's all up to interpretation enough that you could just say they're a couple that just happens to look identical to each other I think
besides the devs referring to them as twins, they do look extremely similar to each other, so they've been regarded as though identical twins. given their cutscene, people interpret the playful competitiveness between them as a sibling rivalry.
again, that is just one interpretation out of many interpretations one can have
I would not mention shipping in genchat even if someone paid me $1k
…not even $100k?
I would kick a baby for 500$
please tell me it would be a light kick
Obviously.
I headcanon elders are beyond gender and any kind of attraction, their appearance may even change to reflect their portfolio; the Valley elders may look like twins to represent competitivity and teamwork for example !
actually dev confirmed, nobody in Sky has a gender. everyone is agender. whatever gender we ascribe onto them is based on our preconceptions socialized in our brains due to living in our highly gendered irl world, but not something the Sky people would hold themselves.
likewise, I see Elders and skykids as nonbiological, so they also don't need to eat, though they could mimic them if they so wish to. I liken them to the Gems from Steven Universe if you know that show.
they’re counted as one person according to canon
Where ?
or at least they’re never referred to as being more than one person? my main source is thatskyshop tho so
Oh yeah ! Sometimes they are referred to as one (the shop) and sometimes as two (Orbit). Alasdair has a cool fic about them being... both
wait they’re referred to as being elders ingame?
in Orbit, if you complete their constellation and collect their reward, they are referred to as "the Elder of the Valley." so you're right that, in a way, they're referred to canonically as one entity. but how they're referred to does not mean that's how they actually are.
I need to finish this draft. opens Google docs
i don’t think there’s anything suggesting they aren’t one entity
also i wouldn’t use translations for lore ref
I mean, that's what I saw in English
Wym ? The translations are made by TGC, they even changed the intro so it translated better.
unabashed writing plug.
eats your writing
even if they’re official translations made by TGC, they might not convey the intended meaning
i don’t know how to put this into words i just don’t generally trust translations over the original language because stuff gets lost/changed in translation
but yea, what I wanted to negotiate in the fic is how the Valley Elder(s) aka Sunset are presented, appear, versus how they feel. by appearance, there are two of them. by presentation, they are regarded as one.
in all that, how do they feel?
while it's true things can be lost in translation – looking at gendered languages – it's rather presumptuous to claim English as the one true valid language all lore investigations should be settled in. yea, this is an English server, but not all of us speak English fluently or even as a native language.
also, a number of TGC devs are Japanese, so they work in Japanese and some of their stuff would have to get translated into English. would it be fair to say that Japanese is the "original" language and English is not in that case?
I think my favorite case of this is Eden in Japanese being called "Original Sin," which is the most overt way to state what the biblical analogy is trying to convey.
if translations are officially carried out by TGC, then it is very intriguing that the French translation regards the Valley Elder(s) as plural when the English language regards them as singular. thatskyshop too refers to them as singular in Englsih. I'm interested in other in-game and thatskyshop translations if anyone could provide them.
headcanon that on a human calendar they would be born on july just bc of that one cameo with the darkstone floating chair
I'm sure the Elder Stream mentions they're one but don't quote me on that because I honestly forgot where the English translation of the stream was so I can't really cite my sources
after i ascend the TS i could go to eden and both explore the new eden for myself & check the valley elders again
Yeah looks like I just misinterpreted it.
Seems like they're one as in they just compliment each other, having the thing the other lacks (for example, each has the one eye the other lacks)
Also yeah they're twins
Yea, ive never rlly liked the idea that the valley twins are one entity, or even perfect compliments or anything like that
i say they're... just twins. siblings. meant to be together, sure, but still their own people with differences and similarities who scuffle and do dumb stuff and aren't perfect or mystical or any of that stuff
i hc they share a braincell
they share a braincell in a funny way. they take turns on the braincell. those crabs in the side tunnels are theirs and they constantly sic 'em on eachother for the funny
Another shameless writing plug
things i believe about the valley twins!
•theyre just normal twins
•theyre skykids
•theyd reinact the "YOU HAVE UNO" meme
•cain instinct (yknow when u see a wrapping paper tube and wanna hit ur sibling on the head with it)
the valley elders
Cain instinct
gosh the slowmode in this chat is so long? i sorta get why but 30-40 seconds feels... a bit much
Yes the second person POV can and will mess with your head. I would know, I’m the writer
nonono dont worry i write in second person too! it just feels natural to me, since i can write it stream of consciousness without dividing thoughts and actions
I usually don’t except for poetry but writing from Sunset’s POV in first or third person felt... incomplete. As if it would present them being one or the other in an unbalanced way. With second person, I could leave that ambiguous
now im thinking about the valley twins and their general. Twin-ness
i think for purposes of being the Valley Elders rather than just the valley twins, they were often treated as a single governing force, or even just as one person. and i think they hated this
expected to agree with eachother on just about any important matter, and then immediately treated as though that was a single decision being made, one opinion, not as individuals.
Yall think its the reason for their... Exuberance (?) Is that the term? So that they get noticed as individuals and not as one?
ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY they saw the way they were being treated and responded with spite
They are sorta competing in their cutscene. They could’ve just taken the skykid’s light offering together amicably, but no I will kick your butt if you touch that flame before me.
Considering I also think the King was kinda treated like crap, and the whole "king is a skykid" thing plus my "valley twins are skykids" headcanon, i like to think that the twins and the king were actually fairly close
1 Brain cell, three people
childhood friends maybe. took solace in eachother over how garbage everyone treated them- a child with the weight of the world on their shoulders and siblings treated as a single individual
A headcanon just popped
What if the reason (if the king did indeed discover and permitted he use of darkstone) is that they were told to think of the sake of the kingdom and the king deemed that darkstone was indeed good for the kingdom but they dont know how to moderate because they are "a kid with the weight of the world on their shoulders" unprepared and unfitting to take upon this task?
yes yes YES they're just a kid! a kid who doesnt have a full sense of risk/reward or consequences or long term whatever yet
I feel like people get tunnel vision for the Valley Elders fighting over the light because it's amusing, and forget that at the very start and their orbit cutscene, they choose to act and move as one.
honestly i think the twins r just showing off. Maybe my opinions r skewed because i really don't think that the elders are their own species (it just doesnt sit right w/ me) so theres nothing really special or magical about the twins- theyre just very good at making a dramatic entrance and they are BORED in dead person timeout purgatory
Isn't the theme music for their scene 'shall we play'? So them playing with the child is also a possibility.
I actually theorize that they were the same race as the ancestors but turned different when the power of the elements were bestowed upon them (season of prophecy murals)
Their cutscene in both their temple and Orbit does come across as well-practiced and choreographed. They may be playing, but they’ve done this song and dance before.
This is a good one!
Mine is similar. They thought that darkstone would be good for the kingdom, but they made a mistake, turning their giant power diamond into the horrible Eden Diamond
i dont rlly think they changed, just that. they're the government. the elders are skyworld's form of government and for some reason they chose to put the sky equivalent of two kids in trenchcoats in charge of one of their biggest cities (gestures back to Twins R Skykids headcanon)
Very random but im thinking about goofy goober timid bookworm…..
It’s canon

The Valley seems pretty prosperous tbh. 'The Valley Elders are constantly at each others' throats and the other elders think they're morons' just seems like a shallow take. Like, sure, if you ignore 80% of their cutscenes and ignore the environment.
nononono i definitely think the twins get along, i just don't think they're, like, magically perfectly in sync with eachother. theyre individuals, they dont agree on everything, they're perfectly competent but get treated a bit ehhhh because theyre expected to be magically perfectly in sync with eachother
Sorry, that wasn't directed at you specifically. More just kinda doing my own mini-sigh thing
which, mind you, is something people tend to think about REAL twins- dw i didnt think that was at me
Huh they added that one constellation from ||Eden||
What are we looking at?
The cape constellation? Its always been there ||i used to think it was a butterfly 💀||
People expect twins in real life to be perfect copies of eachother who like the same things and get along. i think the valley twins are given that sort of expectation as well, but tenfold because theyre making important governmental decisions yet expected to have their takes and choices line up
No zoom in on the photos, you can see what I mean
-brings out magnifying glass and squints- the 3 skids flying together? The colors on that stone are terrible for this medium
Yep.
Ah its always been there iirc
Oh man cant wait to see this channel blow up after shattering comes
From what i read about shattering it tells of the kingdoms darkest secrets, but with no actual “spirits” … so are they vengeful ghosts that have died during the time period when the kingdom was becoming worse and worse?
It is new, I don’t remember several, several updates ago that didn’t exist. Glad it does tho.
I honesty hope to meet Resh in the new season
maybe have a little chat
Im not one to insult a king… but sometimes must break character.
Correct, it hasn’t always been there, but it has been added many, many updates ago
Was added when they split the home constellation table into two sections me thinks
Thanks for telling me this, I have been gone for like a year so I may have wanted to know…
I am late but my favorite valley elders idea is that they are normally serious but saw a kid alone in a desolate world n decided to cheer us up. also that the cheering you can hear in the colosseum is by them to make the city feel less lonely :3
HERE WE COME LORECHAT
WE'VE ARRIVED FROM COZY TO talk about the fall of GW
Basically we’re arguing whether or not Wasteland was residential.
I'm just here with popcorn
There’s so many boats and stuff that I feel it’s impossible. It was likely fully port area.
Wasteland definitely was, from the looks of Abyss, the biggest structure it seemed like it looked like a collesium and only got flooded
But where did the water come from??
From my understanding though, the rain in forest comes from GW
I have to disagree
I don’t think water went up there
I don’t think water could have
Maybe there's just an area in GW that's residential and industrial
I’ve been in Wasteland so many times recently
Even port areas can also be residential. Could be both
wasteland could have been always flooded, but the structures that kept the water back got destroyed and let it all in. just spit balling
I'm sorry to tag you, and for my bad english, but your theory is amazing ... I'm not sure if what i'm saying is true, but Hawaians had cloaks made of feathers in the past that look like Skykids capes
In that Golden Valley post, we saw a picture of a large group of houses with 2 King statues
So it's possible that at least in concept, the Golden Wasteland was a residential area
I see Golden wasteland as like a former market place due to the amount of boats and since it's a market place there's soldiers in it who would keep guard but due to the darkness rising, they had to fight
what if instead of water coming in, all the land got knocked down like a jenga tower
Wastelanding looks like the actual port itself.
Krill-Yard looks like it was underwater before the Calamity struck.
Wasteland Fortress looks like a military base, and going off of the port idea, a naval base.
The Graveyard ship could’ve been a really big navy warship, and if this is a “forward-moving” society, I doubt residents would be getting near it.
"Golden Valley is like a downtown of the Sky kingdom. People built a huge city on top of this mountain, using boats to move between places." From TGC
I guess Abyss is a far away and separated area completely from GW's borders since we have an entire ocean untouched, but they were clearly trying to keep the King Krill in there. Maybe the king krill was like an enemy warriors can face in the sunken colosseum? When the ocean wasn't there??
There are murals that confirm that the Treasure Reef was a darkstone extraction plant
This may just be the areas pass the first part, but the first part of GW really seems like it was residential especially with the "fallen" bridge and probably a couple of "houses" now fallen to debris and covered by the sand
Sometimes I like to just throw half baked thoughts out of the oven and see what happens next so without further ado - what if the sand from wasteland was never originally there and it's just accumulated from sandstone temples and buildings that have crumbled to nothing from atrocity
Woah, that's amazing! I had no idea about the Hawaiian capes
(Also it's ok that you tagged me, im not usually bothered by it. Your English is perfectly fine as well)
)
