I think lightseekers wouldn’t fit the evil alignments since they seem good natured, but I feel like Piggyback and Crab Whisperer are the most chaotic, Twirl and Shush would be more on the lawful side, and Pioneer and Double-five would be balanced, so neutral. Guide is probably neutral too.

You could argue Prophecy because they send kids to trial but even then, evil alignments are actually a pretty big deal in D&D since it requires characters to be ready to do inhumane things for their own gain, which is... something I hardly see the ancestors we met so far do; even Abyss spirits who seem to be mostly desperate to survive.

when considering alignments, "Chaotic" & "Lawful" are not necessarily indications of organization but rather how strict their moral code is and the authority they take to it. Lawful is abiding by laws and rules as dictated by some outside authority, such as a deity or a governing body, with little give or take because the individual agrees with them. Chaotic tends to disagree with such authorities and creates their own moral guidebook, allowing more flexibility in their actions.

Lightseekers may have strong principles that align or maintain divinity associated with light, perhaps working under the Elders or Megabird, if not creating their own code maintained by traditions deemed firm by the Light – so they'd fit Lawful. Abyss spirits are scavengers in the post-apocalypse where such authorities may no longer exist or they've been disillusioned with them. while they work together, it is for their own survival and seemingly no greater purpose – so they'd fit Chaotic.

D&D players themselves will be critical of the alignment system because it restricts a wide scope of morals into 9 boxes. And yeah, I don’t think Prophecy is evil either, you were just asking.

I think the TLP spirits being caricatures of adulthood (and perhaps elders since they represent how children see adults in sky) would make it hard to judge them on a moral basis.

Also Gloat acts like your average bard, I think it’s fair to say they are just chaotic stupid.

So considering the eden background the performance crew has, and the fact that the guitar they’re selling in the shop specifically mentions pleaful parent and that it was recovered from the crabs (where pleafull parent is)
I think performance was actually post-apocalypse and they and the rhythm troupe were likely groups trying to cheer people up after their world practically ended
Telling stories of what they know before the world changed and positive stories of the new one
Speaking of which, maybe it’s why the eden background is like it is. Maybe they never got to see eden before the apocalypse
Maybe it’s why the skater girl had such an impact on the village of dreams
Maybe they were the first person to perform in the coliseum since eden had that kind of collapse
I have even more on other season groups but this one in particular triggered the thought that a lot of spirits we see might not be from before Eden’s collapse
Maybe they tried their best to survive in the fallen world but in the end succumbed to the darkness that sky kids now chase away

I believe flight was both pre and post apocalypse in a way.
The guide being close to the prairie elder allowed them to be prepared for what was coming. When they heard the news of eden they sealed the wind paths but were also given the prophecy of who was coming to rescue them. (“They’ve waited for someone like you. Someone who can fly.”) [paraphrased]
Aka they waited for us to show up
I think flight guide is more powerful than we first assume and managed to keep their spirit (and maybe the others) sentient enough to guide the sky kids in the present instead of having the sky kids reunite or help unveil the past of other season groups.
So the darkness that comes from wasteland we rescue creatures from happens in our current time instead of when the wind paths were open.
Someone else mentioned the darkness plants being where tragedy happened… we don’t see any in the wind paths
I think it’s because it was a sealed sanctuary during the eden times, the flight crew died peacefully due to being cut off from the rest of the realms
Maybe wind paths were a backup plan in the case of civil war. To help keep realms united and connected.
It would help if it were the seasonal areas in the wind paths since these are further to the side and wouldn’t be directly attacked by any problems within the realms themselves

Maybe it was a home away from home during the time the workforce was booming so many of their parents were busy with their jobs and they became friends to have a family that was present in their lives
We know they are descendants of forest spirits but we never learned which
Maybe it’s because the parents were simply so busy that their kids could slip away all day at the treehouse until they came from work late at night
I doubt the parents had anything tragic but it’s instead a case of ‘dead poets society’ where they can get away from parental pressure and the loneliness of staying home all day under rules and standards

I have arrived with a new theory. This is probably just in game mechanics but I thought it'd be fun to share.

Okay, so Sky kids always have the same weight. No matter what we wear or hold, we always have the same weight. Since we have the levitation emote, we can probably manipulate gravity.

The levitating emote further proves this ability which means we can effect our own gravitational weight. Because of this, no matter what we wear our weight will always be the same. Thus, sky kids can naturally, instinctively, manipulate gravity around or on their person.

Because, correct me if I am wrong, the idea that the seasons had more story telling elements implemented in the season of Enchantment, and season before then was either more vague and followed the theme, or did have a story to tell, but it was either not directly told to the player or left up for interpretation.

Perhaps that is what Lore chat can always fall back on during droughts of not much new content.
Trying to solve the older parts of the lore, and then share it with newer players, instead of hounding about filling in the gaps or teasing about future lore to be had.

The interactions are more fun in person and it seems like most interactions happen at a decent pace.

It is unlikely for the devs to put in a secretive interaction for folks waiting around for hours. If an odd one does happen, it may be chalked up tk being a bug in the game such as a spirit failing to path to the right location and performing emotes in the wrong place.

Some people like to interpret skykids as distant shards of the king, so a lot of artists draw the prince/king with a hairstyle similar to moths so links may be drawn between them and skykids !

I know "days of" events associated with sanctuary spirits tend to be dubiously significant for ancestors, but I like to think Days of Rainbow parrallels a celebration of some sort (bigotry would need to be canon in that world for it to be anything remotely like irl pride where it's a riot against the system)...

Maybe they would celebrate all the different ways they show love to eachother :]
Like not just romantic, platonic love too (hi aromantic people), but that would link it back to Days of Love...

Or maybe something like the roman saturnalia where societal boundaries (between rich and poor for example) were removed... but make it PG so they just admire rainbows together.
But saturnalias are mostly associated with the winter solstice, since they are symbolically a chaotic period between the end of one year and the beginning of another, not really about connecting with different folks. Just throwing that idea in the ring.

This might not be a popular theory or maybe there’s a canon reason the sky children do this but I like to think that when you get a new emote and your little moth copies the motion the spirit does, it’s copying that motion because it sees the spirits as guardian figures that they should be following the example of. Similar to how children sometimes adopt the behaviors they see their parents displaying.

I don’t think there’s any implied story, it bowls down to the spirits traveling by to the Kingdoms with blessings (cosmetics, spells, emotes) to/then Ascend. We didn’t get further background on the Lightseekers until the Ark murals

lightseekers could've done to search for light in other realms, separating to cover more ground. it's why we find them individually during sapling quests now. they just never reunited when alive.

Imagine a patrolling stone fish in a labyrinth like area. When spotted, the creature growls and then rushes with it mouth snapping at them.
The skykids also have to avoid stomping golems that are corrupted by darkness. When they were once the guardians of Light, will now instead relentlessly seek to snuff it out.
Some can stand guard, while others would walk a certain path. Skykids would have to find a way to get past them, though can hide in small places like holds in the wall.

Imagine your skykid is wandering through the Golden wasteland, a light breeze kicking up the sand & obscuring your vision slightly.

As your character walks further into the cloud the screen starts the shake ever so slightly. A rhythmic grind that's just barely audible and coming from somewhere far in the distance, but intense all the same.

As you advance further broken stone & metal come into view, you've stumbled upon an old battle field. Shields, spears, & cannons litter the ground with some of them being imbeded in cracked rock while others seem to have arms or hands still attached in a tense grip. The music begins to hasten as the grind grows louder and the wind more intense.

Your character quickens their pace, racing forward as they pass half-sucken wrecks, some of them being ships familiar in appearance to those you've seen before while others appear to be modified for military purpose, all them are pointing forward. The grind is now deafening as the character struggles to move forward. The shaking of the screen is immense.

Finally, your character reaches a clearing. Climbing up an uplifted peice of debris they look out onto the horizon to see a silhouette taller than a mountain. It's a goliath-like creature with chains dragging along it's sides & brilliant golden searchlights scanning it's surroundings. There's a slight pause as it focuses in on your character, the grind stopping as the winds emminating from it's body die down and it stands motionless. Suddenly, it let's out a glorious roar and the wind bursts out again in tandem. You're forced to flee as it begins it's chase after you, the wind your character had been once struggling against now being their only means of escape as it accelerates your skating across the sand. Massive stone fish with eyes of blue light & darkness plants coating their skin emerge from the cloud one by one, snapping at your sky kid if you risk getting too close. The titan is closing in on you.

Finally your character sees it, a broken off section of pipe that they can hide in. As they quickly scurry inside the roar of the titan can be heard close behind. For a second all is quiet & peaceful as the titan seems to pass over you & moves on. But then the screen begins to shake again as the pipe gets picked-up & your character along with it. A final roar is heard as the pipe is tossed into the oblivion. Your skykid wakes up covered in sand, safely away from the titan. They're lucky to have survived

Funny enough, I did have a dream about Sky. My skykid finds a hidden area, out of bounds, and sees several ginormous light creatures.
Whales, eels and other creatures just as large and majestic.
I took a picture and it seem to have aggroed them and they headed towards my terrified and tiny self.
I hid in a pipe and prayed the creatures would not get to me.

I did not take it as a nightmare, surprisingly enough. it was one of the more action based dreams that would be much preferred over what I would have as nightmares.

For the sake of storytelling, virtually any character would speak the language of the intended viewers.
As in, there are stories that are told in the storyteller and the listeners home language.
When it comes to international stories, the story would have to be in English, the international language.

And some are more cryptic like Eden, or Elder.

Sky seems to be going for a Universal appeal, yet still modernised for the players to understand what is going on.
For example, when it comes to earth, the name Gaia might not ring true to most of the younger players.

Though with the exception to the name Eden being that even despite its Biblical connotation, most folks would be able to learn what the garden of Eden would be.

And really, now that I think about it, Eden has a lot of similarities to the biblical version.

Adam and Eve betrayed God's trust and now humans are forbidden to ender the Garden of Eden.

So basically, a young teen (name yet to be determined) is nervous about living on his own, and thankfully to his surprise, his family have been able to expand their business to Valley. They take this opportunity to move the entire family to the fabulous city made of gold and perseverance. The main character finds out that in Valley he is not old enough to be on his own, but he has to go to school- a circumstance unlike the typical one of a Forest resident. He ends up making a few friends, two of which are from Prairie and Wasteland. He slowly learns how different life is in each realm despite being part of the same kingdom.

I got this story idea from brainstorming the type of education systems in each realm, and now I want to make it a fully fledged story!

There's lots of pots there ! Perhaps it was a storage of some sort since caves tend to be colder than outside, and the abundance of boats may be because Prairie could have been mostly farmlands hence the importance of a storage facility.

What spirits coming from multiple time periods more likely mean is that the ancestors had lived their lives at different points in the kingdom’s timeline. Some are from early on, some are from later.

the sky realms seem relatively free of some of the more harmful ideas our society has about maturity. Take a look at the valley emotes in there: they’re all very fun and playful. In this case maturity comes with the ability to enjoy yourself more, now that you’re free from adolescence

While there are parents in Sky, there is not much ingame (or conceptual) content to show how ancestors get married, let alone how they would go about it.

As for Valley, the realm has the adult theme to showcase a competitive and exciting stage in one's life. This may not extend to the spirits as we can see with the skater girl.
The realm does feature more twins than the other realms.
Perhaps to showcase how the realm has two sides, or to tie in with the theme of the elders being twins.

I interpreted that the realms have 2 sides such as, the Performing art (ex. acting) and Competitive sports (ex.racing), the high society and the low society (while one can rich vs poor, it could also be the glamorous and flashy lifestyle vs the humble and wholesome), the red and blue themes etc.

About the red and blue themes, it is difficult to determine with certainty which side would represent which colour.
Allow me to elaborate with an overview in a follow-up.

Red definitely presents the poor (or worker) ones, since the red one has a gondola that leads to village of dreams. According to concept arts, this village would fit into the "poor" ones

At the start, the ice rink is to the left, and the village of dreams is to the right (take note of which side, as left and right also relate to the colours)
In the ice rink, the citadel (and flying race) is to the left, and the sliding race is to the right (which has red banners).
The flying race gate had red banners on the left, and blue banners on the right, the start of the race beyond the gate features red flags.
The sliding race has blue banners on both sides and the starting section beyond the gate are blue as well.

Unless I am horribly mistaken about the count, I may make an image to tally the evidence.
Let's take a look at the temple.

The temple now interestingly outright shows how Red is on the Right, and Blue is to the Left.
While the entrance to the village from the temple is on the right side (red). When traveling from the village to the temple, the boats do not go up to the right side gate, but instead goes underneath the bridge, towards the left (blue).

What may further add to the debate would be the relevant seasons of Rhythm and Performance.

Season of Rhythm has a blueish colour for their season. One can say it is a bit purplish, though still a similar to the cool blue tone.
Season of Performance similarly has a reddish colour, though one can also say it is more of a maroon though still close to red none the less.

One can even look at how Light Awaits did the race gates and realise how they too present this debate of which side would be which colour, while at the same time present the problem of why these colours are not consistent!
Concept art even had this little detail about colours and guess what, red is right and blue is left.

performance is making me re-think the red=poor and blue=wealthy approach, because of the different banners in harmony hall + the guide and stagehand wear blue, while the rest wear red.
There’s also the issue of the red & blue being teams in the races. Though the race element was taken out in Light Awaits, it’s still very clear that they were two competing teams in valley, and the flag colors in each race don’t line up with what’s expected based on the banner colors at the entrance to each area. But more than that, I’m just kind of uncomfortable with the idea of the races being rich districts up against poor districts, that seems like way too dystopian a setup for valley at its peak

I was looking at my skid sitting like they were having a meltdown and wondered: do skids have brains? Can they have mental illnesses? Can skykids have autism??? And then i remembered that skykids are the embodiments of autism basically.

While I am not going to argue for or against that idea.
It is important to take note that skykids are avatars of the player. Being that as it may be that skykids are a character in the game, there are some parts of them that can easily delve into meta knowledge because it crosses over to what the player does in the game.

What can be said about skykids in particular, they are able to learn new emotes and abilities that they can recall and use. Skykids can also recognise their friends regardless of their appearance. While this is partly motivated to game mechanics. The game does rely on them when it comes to the lore at times. One good example is how skykids lose their cosmetics upon losing their light, even when a friend loses their light, others would not immediately recognise them (the name does not immediately appear above the friend).

what I would like to say is to approach the idea delicately.
A skykid (to my understanding and opinion) are an extension of their respective player. Ergo, different players may be playing the game, and all of them are able to use the skykid to interact with the world of Sky.

In short, a skykid's mentality may be assumed to be healthy and fully developed. Unless, by exception, a player would project their mannerisms through their skykid. Which would deviate from the general idea, though grant the player a unique perspective outside of the lore.

Hope this explains how it could be from an objective lore perspective.
