Exceptionally cursed ship
also it implies that cannoneer and the king have the same dad (jake)
prophecy guide :(
L for them (did they not exist at the time of the memory, implying that they’re a newer member?)
the lore is so much funnier through this lens
they only show up to make the murals appear, summoning the images of the king alongside the prophets in the final cutscene. if they weren’t around during the time of the prophets i would actually say it’s more likely that they’re older
I’m so sorry to everyone who is reading this and doesn’t know what I’m talking about, but also I am not sorry at all
i have the vaguest idea of what’s going on, i read like half of the first book and saw a bunch of warrior cat animations on scratch
I can try to explain things but I barely remember either. A fun fact is that towards the end of the first series RiverClan and ShadowClan band together to form like an evil takeover gang or whatever which directly mirrors how Forest and wasteland work with refineries in this next essay I will
salem where’s the essay
isnt riverclan's only shtick that they're cats... that swim... the end ?
it's so funny to imagine the writers going "wow we need a clan to join teh evil clan, lets use these guys that we barely developed"
There’s also a chance they’re younger, especially since it feels like the cave doesn’t really fit them and they don’t show at all on the murals
Literally always Shadow and River.
salem you've done it once and you can do it again. this calls for a Bad Fanfic......
PRETTU MUCH they are just cats that swim and fish. Very few of the clans got development beyond thunder and sky (later)
HELP
clan "just a guy"
they could’ve been younger but I think they’re older bc vibes
Vibes also show them being younger- look at the season of prophecy promo art
i’m not talking about physical age im talking about where they get placed in the overall sky timeline
The clan development is basically just:
ThunderClan: GOOD GUYS. Live in the forest. Are good. Decent
WindClan: those weird guys who live on the plains. Houses are caves. Always forgotten about. Leader is a gay grandpa. Good guys
RiverClan: cats who swim. EVIL. collect pretty things. Have massive generations-long war with thunderclan over who gets some rocks that get kinda warm in the summer
ShadowClan: the MOST EVIL. live in a stinky swamp and eat gross things like frogs. Always a step away from murder. Has the worst leaders. Has used child soldiers at one point. Villain music starts playing when these dudes walk into the room. All of them need a bath.
SkyClan: they have the same Just a Good Guy energy as thunderclan but with a DIFFERENCE. they have a tragic backstory and were kicked out from the other clan territory many years ago
I hope this helps. Also yes, if you’re thinking “WindClan is basically isle” you’re right
Even still, I headcanon them as being like a mini-prophet.
i saw “caves” and “leader is gay grandpa” and was like omg. isle of damn
windclan is isle oh my birds
horrible typo but i’m not fixing it
the gay grandpas name is tallstar. also his clan gets almost forced into exile during the first book (forgot about this until now) which cements it even further
That’s not the first or second time someone I know has misspelled “Dawn” as “Damn”
wait i think i remember this. i was confused
y-you're right, tgc just stole windclan and turned it into a realm 😔 i can't believe they'd plagiarize like this
I was laughing so hard while typing out WindClan’s description because the entire time I was thinking “basically just isle”
cyan light
ok this is getting ridiculous at this point, the parallels just keep coming
someone at tgc is a warrior cats fan and thought we wouldn’t notice
It’s been years since I read those books
hey why is windclan licking rocks
we already got devs that read homestuck, not unlikely
There’s a triple Venn diagram of Sky, homestuck, and Warrior Cats
Homestuck as well???
they all crave those minerals (darkstone/grist/moonstone)
Cat isle elder
I have only read a little bit of it and it doesn’t seem to have a lot in common with Sky
the comparison keep growing
Narrator voice: "WindClan did not last forever."
Did windclan get obliterated or something?
the first time i saw them enter the cave, i knew they were the one. they were special. i could feel it. my heart was beating so loudly that i could gardly hear their footsteps as they strode confidently into the cave of prophecies. their earthen form was no less simple than those of their peers, but somehow it was dazzling beyond compare.
"w-welcome," i stammered, nervously playing with my shimmering white mohawk. i held out my hand and - oh my elders - they actually took it. i practically fainyed! i could feel myself blusging and i was glad that my beautiful stone canine mask hid my face.
they were so nonchalant about it! could they sense my embarrassment or were they oblivious to how i felt about them? i blushed again as i led them to the first trial.
"good luck!" i said breathlessly. they winked at me and the last thing i remember is watching them enter the smaller cave before i passed out from joy.
BIRD I LOVE YOU
not as much as prophecy guide loves the king 😌
prophecy guide remembers the king and immediately slips and falls during one of the cutscenes
I’m glad you mention ed the part about them glowing because fun fact that’s how bluestar knows they’ve found the right person in the warrior cats books too. keeps getting worse
https://tenor.com/view/probecy-guide-sky-cotl-sky-children-of-the-light-sky-children-of-light-prophecy-guide-gif-24765960
edit: I hate it here. stupid embed
YES THAT that is what happened to them when the king winked at them
The omen for the prophecy about firestar was even a shooting star. I hate it here.
THIS QUOTE LIVES IN MY BRAIN I SAW AN ANIMATION OF THE CONVERSATION WHEN I WAS SMALL
NO NO NO
The worst part is that that a while ago, I actually tried to make a serious fic with these 2
you
you what
As in, romance-less lore fic. I know what you’re thinking and I’m stopping you.
GOOD
hope we get more isle lore soon so i can have silly little ideas instead of just sitting here confused
i love silly little ideas
Me lurking in the chat cause I'm bored like:
had a silly little idea brb
yes. exactly. in the cursed, cursed world in which these two have drama... this is what it looks like.
The existence of this fic in universe is why we can’t enter/figure out where the prophets slept, because the fic is stored there and they don’t want us to find it
oh i just had a cursed thought and i'm not sure what to do with it. what if the king. what if they. they're also gay panicking. and. there's a whole secret affair and. that's why- when it was found out- that's why the king set off the eden explosion.
That’s it Sky lore is solved.
someone save me lol
the person they’re panicking over looking like Just a Guy really puts the cherry on top of this drawing
it's pointing candlemaker
I appreciate the fact that I can be cringe about warrior cats here and not be bullied or cheesed for it as well. thank you all for supporting my cringe side and letting me release it at will
Everytime I write lore fics about Prophecy guide this image will haunt (or bless) my mind
salem, we're all cringe here, what are you so afraid of ? a dev seeing your fics ?
I am still wondering how I managed to remmeber all that from 8-10 years ago but forget to eat on a consistent basis
next time a dev comes i'm copy-pasting the valley eldars fic right into their face
FAIR… I am basically a court jester for this server and should lean into it fully
bird im not sure if you were here to see this but a dev did, in fact, see the valley eldars fic
YES YES YESSS WHAT HAPPENED
wait did ash see the actual fic or just the buff actor drawing resulting from it I couldn’t tell
I THINK THEY SAW THE FIC TOO LEMME CHECK
i forgot abuot buff actor..... thanks a lot salem-
I’m telling you we need to make a sold to valley eldars musical in the performance stage and then post it here. It’ll be the magnum opus of lorechat.
they later comment about the salt and pepper slices going farther than they imagined so i think they did see the fic
also if anyone is curious, I consider the idea about assmenly spirits roleplaying warrior cats as basically canon
I...i like it ngl i mean your fiction, guys lol
i don't have valley hair yet and the tlp spirit hasnt returned yet so alas, not yet. but it will come to pass.
Vetoing this (I don’t like musicals and am petty)
Fine. A play then. You can play Ebony Dark’Stone, after all you were the one who wrote them.
Counterpoint I am too shy and as a result I turn into a feral beast when forced to do public speaking
We can use the storyteller seat so you don't have to talk. Salem you're the only one with the skater ults we need u
I refuse to fulfill the fanfiction propehcy /j
what if i illustrated a few lines like last time
You are tempting me so hard but [Minecraft death sound]
[minecraft exp ding]
LETS DO IT
what did i walk into
You join us too Lotus.
what happened
I'm asking the same question honestly
DO IT
We are making a play regarding The Valley Eldars fic
I think that might get Bird in trouble
Do a message link to it to then
is this like forbidden knowlege or smth
You don’t know the sold to valley eldars story?
Well. Maybe
Please do not call it a copypasta ty. Also do not copy paste it in devs faces that’s just annoying and can’t go well, just do like a reference or something if you want to so badly
On the verge of putting the fic on the high shelf
Baudshaw stop, this clearly bothers Salem
Question what’s the high shelf?
Place you put things when you don’t want other people touching them and are a bit frustrated about their behavior surrounding said thing
The performance quests/stage in general make me pretty anxious and I also do not appreciate being pressured into turning the fic into something that would require that as a medium, although I know no one was super serious about it
Yeah, I was completely joking tbh. I don't have the patience to put on a real play. It'd feel like herding cats probably and I hate doing that.
who has actually done a play of some sort at the Performance theater? I just play music there
i kind of want to but i’m waiting until we unlock all the stuff on the stage
For clarification, I am not doing the play, nor do I want anyone else to make a play off of it. The concept gives me a weird feeling of anxiety that’s really hard to express. I am doing a different continuation of it that I’m discussing with friends I think :-)
also suggesting putting a copypasta when a dev comes by will warrant them a mute at best, or devs not coming here anymore + more heavy moderation at worst
inb4 "valley eldars" becomes a censored phrase
I don’t think any of us do. I once saw what looked like a coordinated effort for a play (someone was on the narrator chair and talking supposedly about the person who had run on stage) It was a love story so I noped out IMMEDIATELY
The thing about putting on a play is that the server limit is still 8 people, and there is no way to stop randos from being rude and hi jacking your show. It's a lot of effort to do
unless you fill the server with 8 friends
That would be really discouraging to happen. Ugh. Please don’t use the stuff I’ve made to spam and harass people, guys. It’s really uncomfortable to witness people suggesting it and it’s making me debate sharing my work here in the future.
but then you need to record it somehow if you want to share it with people
I did but the place is so chaotic, if you're alone, be ready to improvise with total strangers. I played a rude demon that got vanquished by the hero with the power of terrible harp playing, but turns out i was his one true love lmaooo
If the director is into comedies, I think they probably took notes because that was hilarious, would do it again if not for the huge lags
The stage even lags on switch. Those stage effects are powerful
the most ive done in the theatre aside from hog the guitar is post this rabbit
POST THIS RABBIT INSTANTLY
POST THIS RABBIT I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MENTION THAT
Once there was a cat hood chibi wearing the head bunny playing music, and I went to the story tellers chair and made up a cute little story of a little cat living with a little tiny bunny in the forest, but that was about it
the third quest gave me way too much anxiety aufh
I just like messing with the stage. One time I tried to do a “We flooded Valley oh no!” But I lack skills in improv and just did the worry emotes before I ran off stage
It's easier to do if you remember you can't actually fail
I like that chibis can swim if you use the water effect

GARY LOOK IM ON TV
Same dude I am Not good at the timing required for sheet music in sky
I wish I could practice it
How'd you get flight guide to perform with you? Lucky
I know a way to get talented builder in there. Only difference is that he has suddenly acquired a cape
3rd quest music makes me think of nintendogs shop music but dont tell the musicians, i think they would glare at me for saying it
Yeah, I'm hoping we get the sheet from someone. Maybe Performance guide will give it later? They still have nodes. Otherwise you gotta redo the quest all the time and that's tedious to reset
yea that's what I'm hoping. there's a third Performance music sheet neitherof the spirits give
Imagine not being able to play the music sheets
Ccoubndt be me 🥲
head empty only the guitar riff at the end
I hated music sheets once too. You really can't start with stuff like abyss sheets, they'll ruin it for you because they're hard mode. I think bird call has an easy sheet you can learn the basics from without getting overwhelmed
Isn’t music sheet 3 (bird calls) like the hardest one in the game
I’ll try that out!! Thank you
Also, some music sheets are harder depending on your instrument type. The sheets play differently for stuff like strings, percussion, and so forth. I know one sheet that is hell on earth on piano but my ocarina is fine
warning: there's a base game spirit thats difficult as hell
i think bird call has the evil sheet, whale might be the music box, 3 is just ????
music box my beloved
I have the horn and I have like one music sheet, I can play that one pretty good
whale and manta calls got two versions of the sky theme, bird call is the evil sheet
They really give you the hardest sheet in the game to start off with huh
So don't listen to me, and instead go for the other sheets
music box <3
I can do stagehand’s music sheet only because I love it so much that I lisent to it in my free time
pspsps this melody is what is sung on your way to orbit
this sheet was the one I was thinking of! I thought it was bird call
My fav sheet so far is dancer's sheet, though I want dismiss so I can get waltzing in the rain. ('Shall we play' when?)
YEAH!! Flight is my favorite song in the game. It’s really cute and sad to think that it might be like a lullaby being sung to us
OH YOURE RIGHT i love the ascension singing, you get to honk along
Henlo lorechat I see you’re talking about musicks
My specialty
Waltzing in the rain absolutely SLAPS
Skids slowly dozing off in bed, slurring along to the song
my favorite sheet is crab call's (salem shut up) because it's so calm i headcanon it's a lullaby or the kind of song you sing idly, like when cooking or folding laundry.
my favorite is scaredy cadets bc it sounds nice :)
“Salem shut up” PFFF
imagining Flight as like a lullaby the light sings to us as we ascend to calm us down and help us feel better is :(ing me
oh i remember a random hc i had, bc whale call is just a random bald guy, that theyre the same bald guy in hide n seek pioneers memories, and so the music box belonged to hide n seek, i like thinking abt music sheet origins
I need tgc to tell us who these guys are
I assumed the first performance play was about their Tragic love story. They fell in love but then they both dieded
Mega bird might not be as horrible a mother as previously thought. More at 11
@white junco once of them might be the valley's call spirit
oh my god i forgot at one point hide n seek was big huge
geezer located
I see the letters “hc” and my brain goes lhjlhlgkkggkjjlhjgjgkh
there's a reason I spent way too long learning to play it
But isn’t hide and seek a kid? Or is it just canonical they have the same effects of the chibi mask?
I confused them with bulshing prospector 💔
They used to have an adult model but it was changed later. So they were either retconned to a child or they have chibi effects now
Ahhhh nws!
blushing prospector memory guy give ur garbage lil umbrella
Hide & Seek Pioneer is likely a kid giving they're playing hide & seek. referring to what Enna said, they were retconned to look like a child so prob a child
Broke: all the bald spirits that appear as side characters in spirit memories are different and unrelated people, tgc just couldn’t be bothered to develop their appearances
Woke: they’re all whale whisperer
oh btw the white masks some spirits used 2 wear are all gone. i only recently noticed. tgc put them back
Or manta call
Don’t forget them
counter argument: They are triplets (or quadruplets? How many are there? I feel bad for their mom)
lumberjack 💙
Manta call isn’t real. Neither is memory whisperer. They’re all just whale whisperer in different clothes and with slightly different accents
they don't even bother with the clothes
tgc bring back the bassboosted ascended colour it was so good
What about the idea that the umbrella spirit from lightseeker is the same fella with the umbrella in blushing prospecters memory?
if you use a huge spell you end up taller than them
Using scarecrow as a lamp
we need gloat to be this color because they're a fruit and this is a banana color
They became high lighters
THE SPIRIT MEMORY TURNED LAIDBACK PIONEER BALD 💔
this is the only reason id welcome gloat as a ts rn
the moths r so desperate for pants ive seen gloat wanters for the pants, they dont know what it was like being a tlp moth
manual breathing for life
IT WAS SO GOOD FR like besides color tweaks they mainly ramped up how much their glow effect was affected by outside light. recently tried orbing candlemaker and it just isn’t the same 💔
ORBING THEM
I want the fruit's pants for valley elder cosplay. I just finished the valley constellation I am ready
Hehe. Babies.,
ORB
Do you think pointing candlemaker uses their glow like a nightlight
Alternatively: bright glow to summon moths
if i was a spirit i don’t think i could sleep
That's one way to find adoptable children
(Also slink I just saw your pfp is made by vela?? Like our vela from this chat???)
“POINTING CANDLEMAKER HAS BEEN FLOODED WITH TOO MANY SMALL MOTHS AND THEY CANT STOP ADOPTING THEM, WE NEED TO TONE DOWN THE GLOW”
for those of you that didnt live thru TLP, TLP moth, exhibit A:
TLP MOTHS WERE SO FUNNY
HAHAH
HEHE
YEA. we were so goofy i loved it
Weren’t the tlp moths in all grey?
YEAH THATS THE POINT
we were all little goth menaces
@frigid tinsel you
It’s funny to think that each era of moth had their own like little subcultures
I was born in the wrong season, I got edgy winter pirate
What kind of moths were you guys? I was enchantment moth
i think i was snoozing during sotlp, no screenshotted moth sightings 😔
Spawned in gayest season (enchantment) lost my account and respawned in prophecy (gay murder season)
the sanctuary moth drip
Clarification: Propehcy is murder season because the trials made me want to kill things.
I am an abyss baby. I graduated from being a moth during Days of Bloom (thanks to Salem somehow???)
I was a flight moth but didn’t figure out how seasons worked until there were like 50 days left in the season, I got the entire talented builder outfit because I liked the pants, I also got the navigator goggles and the light whisperer bird. I paired it with a red cape, I was a very colorful child
I started in like
The last week or two weeks of Enchantment
I think of myself as an Enchantment moth, but I also think of myself as one of the limbo moths born between seasons sometimes
water prophet and sunbather were my homies when i wanted some colour, my first two ocs were heavily inspired by them HFNFHFNNF
and omg ur an abyss moth? i thought u joined during flight oh my god my sense of time is awful rn
I'm one of the few moths who completed their season's constellation and doesn't have to say 'I had no idea what was going on and have regrets
'
the tears that I shed during soloing trial of fire as technically still a moth are a bad but necessary memory
i have so many regrets. manta cape
baby
fire trial made me rage quit the first time. Then my friend Bee taught me witch craft. Now I hold hands with someone and run thru it in the dark :)
I don’t regret anything luckily enough, I am very picky with cosmetics
I like to have things in case I need them, especially if they're unlikely to come back.
fire trial imo was best when it first launched. lots of strangers to go through with. i got swept up in a group, tho i’m not sure who knew each other and who didn’t. fire trial alone just sucks
I did fire trial once, led through by the veteran who adopted me, but never again after that
shout out to this guy who friended me just to take them through fire trial, i respect the hustle
It's the hardest trial, but then you see it without the darkness and realize how short it really is. The exit to the third floor is literally above the entrance to the level and it's mind blowing.
fire trial where you actually saw other players (real)
first time i completed fire trial is when me and my cousin spent abt 30 or so minutes screaming at eachother
I was called out so here’s me, the TLP moth
This has to be photoshopped. I refuse to believe such a utopia exists
FROG MASK OUR ONLY SEASONAL MASK
for clarification, the tall skid in the second pic is my friend, also a TLP moth
as if i knew how to use photoshop
By the time flight ended I considered myself an experienced player
sotlp had just the frog mask and flight had no masks, rip to y’all
using Photoshop isn't that hard. making believable Photoshop manips, that's harder
I sadly have no moth pictures of myself but I do know the outfit I had. Maybe.
I like the default mask though. Like, 3/4 of the default clothes are really good. Moth hair even manages to survive as 'handsome player' hair
omg relatable, i tried so hard to not be a moth. considered myself experienced before prophecy (my second season) ended. wasn’t actually until much much later
Early Sanctuary moth, started lore in prophecy
yea the default mask just vibes and fits most outfits. even when I had other masks, for a while I still rocked the default mask
moth hair gang
at one point i had more pants than masks it was so bad
Will the same thing happen to the Performance stage after the Performance quest is over?
If I actually wanted to rock short hair, I'd wear moth hair. It's just so good
no because the performance stage isn’t horrible and awful and hellish
Even still, without easy access to it, will there still be people on it?
yes. me
Current outfit versus what I “graduated” with
I see a competition between those who want to perform plays and those who want to pull off concerts at the Performance stage
How is Performance not easy to access? You go right from Valley's portal and just slide down a hill. It takes like a minute tops. You don't even have to fly like you do in isle to get to Prophecy cave
i’d stand on stage and say things but nervous
one of these days im just gonna recite one of my fics on stage copy and paste that thing into the mobile keyboard and go
poem poem poem. on the stage
I remember setting up the stage for days of nature and putting on a 'benefit concert' for days of nature. I told people to do their part to clean up the geyser
But using the Wind Paths, I think it’s just slightly faster to get to the Prophecy Cave. I’ll need to check
my behavior on the stage is completely normal
omg its me
honestly I forget wind paths exist when I go to prophecy. I only ever use wind paths for sanctuary and forest caves
I didn’t realize “Oh hey there’s a thing here!” For the wind paths for a while
wind paths got me lost in the clouds
Wind Paths better for going to Hermit Valley rather than using the glitchy gondolas tbh
hermit valley windpath is only viable solo its lethal with friends
I tried to go to hermit valley and ended up hanging with someone. We jumped on the gondola and got shot into above the cloud cover it was nutty
i usually just fly up to hermit valley
I usually never go to hermit valley
Hermit Valley has 2 really cool oobs though, the sunset one above water and the velvet sea
how to enter the wind paths with friends without being spat back out the entrance
I don't go daily but like, I want the shinies. Plus, if I do want the candle cake, I can skate down with yeti and skater, It's fun
last time this happened to me i got maybe my favorite screenshot ever, W either way
They worked fine when I was a moth, but now the gondolas regularly teleport funny. I can barely ride up the big hill without it possibly teleporting me to the bottom when I'm just near the top
If you haven’t been to the velvet sea. Go. It’s so amazing
baud you’re just saying words. what is a velvet sea
I might have been yeeted there as a moth
Is it under the map? cause yeah its rlly nice !
yea I was thrown under the map
oh i’ve been down there yeah
poor moth me had never OOBed before and this was completely accidental, I was scared
oh wow. i just hung out around here
chibi fall?
It’s the water area under the map. If you go to the very bottom where the invisible sea is and dive, a strange effect occurs where all the clouds are bright red and the water is bright white
Whoa!
I bet you can chibi fall down there but nah the gondolas were just glitchy and yeeted me down there
oh i never thought to swim all the way down. it’s pretty murky near the surface
You can just slide from above ground to the cloud areas at a particular angle and you can also do it!
sometimes i forget we can dive now tbh
this means we can drown in an OOB
Diving is incredibly funny in OOBs. I wonder if the strange effect is different in other OOBs
is there a tutorial on how to get there? it's beautiful
isnt there water at the bottom of the starfield memorial oob, ruining a datenight by losing wl in the bg
again, I only got there on accident. idk how to replicate it
I think it’ll be weirder when diving in invisible water.
yep!
Yes! I’ll DM a video about it to you.
me and a couple friends almost drowned in the invisible water underneath the prophecy caves
we were stupid enough to see how deep it would allow is to dive
Could you DM me the video too please? :0
please do!

there's a big void oob in archives with invisible water too, and it can get so dark you can't see your friends unless you honk
oobing has gotten so much better with the addition of props you can recharge with, how did we live without them
Underneath village of dreams also has invisible water
apologies!! you should be able to now
Speaking of water, I’ve always wondered about the lake in the ice rink. It says that it’s an “illusion”, which makes me think they tried to hide something there. Maybe it was done later in the kingdom to hide blue light there?
Where does it say taht ?
Nothing direct, but there is this: #beta-discussion message. I think it was a response that was made to differentiate it from actual water
To clarify: I don’t think it said anything about it being the Valley Elders, but it’s either them or someone else who used red/purple light.
That link sends us to beta testing discussion so be careful peeps (is that even allowed here? It's not beta spoilers but it could lead to them, so I'm not sure if it counts)
heard of this – Ktjn(?) said in one of the beta channels that the water under the valley ice rink was "an illusion" but did not elaborate. I've heard of no connection with the Valley Elder(s) directly involved with it, but blue light does come from there.
perhaps when blue light was moved to the Forest Elder as per the prophecy murals, the lake there froze and drained.
the purple hue that whole under the ice area has now is intriguing.
Purple. You know the symbol of purple light. The one of creation. Maybe someone created the strange effect using purple light
red light is associated with darkness, not illusion
why would they put fake water under the ice rink tho?
Well, if we go with the theory that these orbs are here because they came here naturally, maybe some sort of shield/effect was put around it to prevent people from stealing it. Or, since the lake dried up, they tried to simulate the water using Purple Light.
why would a kingdom based on light try to restrict citizens access to light?
the water underneath the ice rink wasn't actually always there. It's mentioned in the patch notes for Live version 0.11.0 (posted 10/2/2020) that the "Area beneath the Valley ice rink now appears to be under water"
it also says that the jellyfish were missing and returned. so jellies were under the ice rink before water was
link to the post in case anyone wants to double check: https://thatgamecompany.helpshift.com/a/sky-children-of-the-light/?p=all&s=patch-notes&f=patch-notes---october-2-2020---0-11-0-155436&l=en
That's someone on beta chat repeating the enchantment quest and saying how it doesn't make sense anymore, nothing about it being an illusion.
the water didn't even exist when the quest first launched! It was updated to look underwater right before prophecy launched! what is going on! (the exclamation marks r me being loudly confused)
hmm, perhaps with the cloud cover unveiling the Caves of Prophecy did the lost elemental lights return to their sources? and the blue light in Valley filled the ice rink with pseudo-water?
also look at how they refer to the petrified spirits 👀
I'm going to bed, even canon is unstable and this bothers me
Do you know how dangerous the power of water is in the wrong hands. Let me just flood your home real quick-
and then tgc took the water away when they added diving in abyss. hate it here
they don't want moths drowning in the valley lake
perhaps skykids taking all the blue light and drained the psedo-water? trying to think of an in-universe explanation to this
Something separated body and soul ?
Literally, my first valley trip as a moth had me immediately falling into the area and right into the lake. I had no idea where I was and was very confused. I would have died
a spirit's husk
👀 so the spirit is inside a darkness husk
I drank it, was thirsty at 3am, sowwy :(
Here’s what I’m thinking. Enchantment Lights, when not controlled by anyone, act on their own whims. Maybe it fills the lake with water sometimes and drains it randomly?
since you mentioned it i'd like to slide one of my theories in here: that the prophecy lights are naturally-occurring, extremely dangerous phenomena that played a key role in shaping the realms as we know them. The murals at the entrance to the Cave of Prophecies show us just what they're capable of. After the elders were done with the prophecy lights, they sealed them away in the caves, locked behind trials to protect them from those who aren't worthy. It's the cave of prophecies plural, maybe there's another prophecy about the lights.
Whereas I think the enchantment lights are weaker versions of those powers created by spirits. Ash said they were related "in a sense" so I don't think they're the same exact lights. And maybe red and purple light are like the higher number elements on the periodic table: not able to form in nature, but can be artificially made
Interestingly enough, I thought it was the other way around: it was guarded by the Trials for centuries, then given to the Elders. That would call for Prophecy time period shenanigans, which I am NOT ready for
only reason i thought of this order was bc of these murals in the front of the caves depicting the lights’ effects on the realms. not entirely sure. maybe they were sealed in the caves on a couple different occasions, who knows
The problem with all of this is that it could be prophetic as well. Maybe the Prophets simply knew the best places for the lights to live in? Anyways I’m done, figuring out the (singular) timeline of Sky is excessively hard
prophecy guide I am going to bite you. why is your season so confusing
the confusion seems to be due to uncertainty around the timeline of events
isn't it always 😔
feeling drained and hard to phrase words but I will mention this. personally I don’t think the valley rink is where blue light formed, just that it went there after enchantment. I don’t know if blue light even formed in nature or if it was some kind of gift from Megabird or what but
oh that's true! we do have that line from the green light quest "The fable is that they are gifts to the earth from the sky" that could be about literally anything
the enchantment murals do have lights falling from the sky for them to collect, but they don’t have colors in the mural and just have the generic 8 pointed star symbol. which could mean either that normal bland yellow lights fell and were turned into the color lights later, or that the lights fell/were collected like that originally and just weren’t colored in the mural.
personally I lean towards the first just because it doesn’t require a leap of logic to believe in.
oh hey i'm in the caves rn and A. the red light is in the pedestal where it should be and B. earth light looks less green than it was at season launch. more earth-y
although I do have to wonder, why and how would they be created in the first place? maybe as one of the efforts to help recover the world after everything started to go Bad? That line of logic is reasonable for most of them hmm
bloody hell they updated a couple things, do I need to take new screenshots
what did they update I am too exhausted to check . also why did you turn british momentarily
can't say my normal swear words
fate worse than death
saying British swears don't make you British. source: me
The green light works by being in Prairie (the farmer/earth area) and when you first enter the map the green light is on, the mantas take it into the 'sky', and eventually they drop it and it falls down to 'earth'. It might mean nothing special and literally just be the same akin to 'a pure mountain lake'
I am going to confess that I almost accidentally said “a fate worse than daleth” and just stared at my screen for a second I feel you all will enjoy that
LOOK AT
ooooooooooooo I never noticed the shooting star beam before
it doesn't really show when the mural is just on the wall
insert more swearing, my framerate just went to hell
It is incredibly funny to me how ushering stargazer’s memory, this mural, and the performance quests all describe the star falling in different locations. Which one is it
different perspectives or details changed has the story was passed down orally, which happens a lot with oral tales
Looking at Performance quest 2
Could be multiple stars falling
Ok consider? stargazer forgot and just told people a different spot each time. or just lied for funnies
WAIT I’m blind the cave mural has it in the correct spot. the only people wrong in this are the performance spirits, who lied 2 them
where do the Performance quest say the star(s) fell?
back from hell with the screenshots
I phrased it wrong, they don’t say where it fell, just where the kid was first discovered. if we assume which is probably correct that the kid in prophecy cave line is the king then that means stargazer was cut out of the myth entirely, which is making me giggle for some reason
so is the one on the middle boat with the horns the elder or the refusal spirit
also got the closeups hell yeah
its the one and only daleth
the last mural here is missing a major bit in the middle, that might be the cause of everything looking weird (like you relived the wrong memory last or something???)
summoning the glowy kid in the murals requires flying to each floating rock and watching a short cutscene and i simply did not want to
Slacker, do it for the lore
/j
I see , it’s just making it a little hard for me to tell what “changed”
main difference is the earth light color and dusk elder's light is in the right spot. but I can go back it's not a huge hassle
will update my collages afterwards
want me to go?
can I ask wdym by dusk light being in right spot??
already in here dw about it
I do not have the singular image on hand rn because in prophecy caves but look at dusk elder in this one
OHHHHHH I see them that is very funny thank you
I think they made all the light colors a little less intense, especially the yellow, it is not as blindingly bright
Dorito Elder
while we’re on the topic can we talk about what might be happening in this mural ? has been bithering me
this mural depicts Dorito Elder getting their nacho cheese
Greater dorito elder: wasteland
Lesser dorito elders: valley
hshhsdhfdfhs yeah I think these murals got updated a longgggg while ago I just. don't pay attention to anything lmao
Valley Elder(s) ranch dressing
So is Wasteland Elder putting the fire in a grave or a turret?
they put it in a turret in another mural and this looks different, so I’m thinking it’s like a darkstone mechanism or something. maybe even the eden door
i don’t remember the full cutscene for the first image but i wonder why it’s there all alone. weird
the way the elders are drawn consistently fills me with joy
oh I think I did them in the wrong order. you summon the glowy kid murals before the rest of the big one
why does the glow in-game look so much tamer than how they look in my screenshots
like this post if you are a fan of prophecy mural vault elder bc it fills me with glee
i’m yelling i don’t think there was a lighting change, they just look different in screenshots for some reason
i swear i’m not losing it (first image is device screenshot, second is in-game)
????????!!! Strang
I am very interested in discussion bc I lov mural but I need to go to bed. my vision keeps blacking out randomly. see u all tomorrow <3
this mural used 2 be glitched so i actually have an image of what that thing is without the light in the way
yeah I saw both pics but I still can't tell.
idk mate it’s a thing
anyways. prophecy mural elder art style compilations. i think the changes in how the elders are depicted reflect when the mural was created
I normally don't come here
But is there any info about why sprits/sky kids where masks?
For fashion
But I personally think it’s do to which profession the spirit took
And the skykids, not complete sure
there hasn't been any clear clues on why they do. it could be a gameplay thing, to portray faces simply without demanding too much of graphics rendering. another thought is that ancestors considered faces private, not worth showing in public. skykids wear masks too to fit in
bottom one reminds me of the ooold concept where there were towers that would spot the skids as they traveled the wasteland
Image B
personally i'm partial to the theory that they wear masks to dim their highbeam eyes
in history masks were often used as portrayals of one's ancestors or totem animals i believe? Maybe it's the same sort of thing for the skykids, representing the Ancestors or the elders. Maybe it's sort of an "i'm inheriting this world from you, so I will take a part of you with me" sort of thing?
in the old concept art, all the elders were supposed to look like animals of some sort I believe? So I think the animal masks in particular are a callback to that? but masks in general, i'm not too sure
my personal headcanon is that just come into the world with a blank (moth) mask, but they paint and mold their masks as they develop their identity, so it's a sort of personal growth thing for them. I like the forehead embellishments being simply embellishments to the moth mask, though, so I don't count those as 'masks', but rather decorations meant to mimic the ancestors.
I dunno! sorry my brain is a bit of a playlist on shuffle
I really like the idea of them painting a shaping it
I think one of the reasons they might wear masks is because I think the faces look like the gray skykids face and theres nothing there
I think they wear the masks at a way to portray there themselves instead of them just being faceless
Ok so I'm some cultures
Masks were used as a way to honor
Sprits
So
Maybe
The skykids wear them as a way to honor the spirts and elders
Hey y'all, Genchat would like to present a new and very serious lore theory for y'all to discuss:
Birds in Sky are lawyers.
There actually government spy's thank you very much
But what's the government in Sky that they're doing the spying for??
So masks were also used in reenactments of mythology events
And when you save spirits you go through a reenactment of there memory so maybe that's why sprits also wear the masks
The dark crabs
Krill Council...
They are spying on the ancestors and skykids- made by our beloved king and prairie elder of course ^^
Yes
random, but i think thinking that when a TS gets a new prop we can unlock it’s like them going ‘Oh WAIT IMA GO SEE MY FAVORITE SKIDS, LET ME BRING THEM A PRESENT’
THATS DO SWEET
imagine they like made the stickers n stuff just for the skids
Awww
hey, lore chat! just some random question when i was flying sround wasteland, why is their a lot of king statues?
the same reason we have statues irl-
for what-i do question why we hav a lot if stayed irl too
To show the future humans what people looked like long ago, related reasons
my typos... i am so sorry
Its alright ^^ your typos are fine 💜
ohhhhh, that kinda make sense
Sorry for the ping Alasdair T^T- But i just seemed to notice that they used to refer the wasteland temple as 'palace' may i have some thoughts as to why ^^
not Alasdair but looking at this concept, the King may have ruled from Dusk at that point in development
Here is some more details about the ark in Dusk
Thanks Raider ^^

Speaking of which, the season of Enchantment features the Forgotten Ark.
The trailer for the season even shows a distant thunderstorm in the direction of where the ark has crashed.
The thunderstorm and the mural combined may help imply that the Forgotten Ark in the season could either be the actual ark in the game, or perhaps part of a fleet of flying ships that were struck down.
Ergo, the Forgotten Ark in the game could be the same ark as in the depictions (though unlikely despite it size), or from the fleet that got struck in the storm.
What if the Golden Wasteland was once a port for ships to rest at before climbing the mountain?
While it could be an industrial realm, having it be a port might also work since all of that product had to be transported in any case, right?
That would make sense since especially during the construction of eden there would've had to be some kind of secure transportation-
agreed.
In the game, Wasteland is the only realm to feature several large ships. Namely the Forgotten Ark, the pieces of a smaller but still sizable ship (or ships) in graveyard, the Shipwreck, and the mythical Ark that is large enough to hold a city on it as suggested by concept art.
While the in-game city of the Golden Wasteland looks a lot different to what the old concept art shows, there may still be evidence of the developers were trying to include parts of the city despite the game's limitations.
We have seen how the game would try to showcase a city with buildings in Valley, strategically placing duplicate assets of buildings and using clouds to fill in the gaps.
I suppose the reason this trick did not work in Wasteland was either a lack of assets to properly dress the scene (as in they might not have been able to reuse the valley buildings, nor able to make new buildings that befit the theme). Or the region could not support assets of a ruined city as throughout updates, the area has undergone some changes.
Namely the distant 'floating factory' structure with the asset being moved, duplicated and/or removed, and some ruined structures placed strategically to imply distant structures, even though they are out of bounds and the player was never able to reach the area with these structures.
That is just what I theorised to be the reason why we dont have a ruined city to explore and instead left with open spaces that are riddled in crumbling rock formations, bones, and the occasional ruined building. That and a swarm of krill to keep skykids on the move.
Just to show what I mean, and prove this was in fact once in the game (although supposedly not for long).
Here is a screenshot I found online where this player managed to capture an image of distant buildings on the mountainside.
Here is also concept to show this is what Wasteland's mountainside could have looked like, though due to some reason, it did not make it into the current game.
Don't forget that due to the limitations of the game, the developers used a little technique often used in video games where if a player is not meant to go to a distant place but still have the view of a distant place (but it's like very far from the actual game play area) the place would be very low poly or even a flat texture to save on resources
Yes, you said it.
Thanks for pointing that out.
It is true that Sky makes use of low poly mock ups of distant terrain to help devices run smoother.
Since the player is not close enough to see details, the game can for the time being not render in these details until the player is closer.
Skykids are able to see this in several realms, and with various degrees of success.
For example, in day, the distant assets are accurate to what the player would see in the actual area. While in the crab field area (shipwreck) leading towards the temple, does not show the actual temple, let alone an accurate mock-up. It instead shows a different building that does not have the king statues in the same locations and a different looking door.
If I recall correctly, when a game does not load the entire level that the player would not see in any case, is called culling.
As the name implies, to save time in loading the area, and ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible, the game would check to see what the player can and cannot see.
What the player cannot see, do not have to be loaded in until the player looks at it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqH8kcmD-HI
Here is a great example of culling in a video game.
In Sky, this may include areas that the player is not in or near yet, so the game would only load in parts of the game where the player is and can see.
grabby hands Thank you so much!!! I really love watching how games are broken down and such
do you have more pictures like this ? I didn't know this concept had been integrated into the game !
I have a couple (I refuse to retype that whole message that Triggerbot mercilessly deleted)
(Tiggerbot is not playing nice today)
I will though (try to) list a few sources that you can use as a reference while looking them up yourself.
Tumblr, Twitter (I recommend using Google to search with keywords if one does not have an account. "7 days of" is a good one to use), and a some of the concept art can even be found on this very channel.
Going through eden yall want anything?
chicken nuggie
candles
They ran out sorry, they only have the ascended kind here
Expensive though
Finally got a video of that statue head falling i was talking about
I'm fr collectimg the pictures here like Pokémon cards cause I need to figure out all the lore
Bro when is this sky animation coming out? Did they ever give a date?
The perfect opportunity to say "skynimation" and you didn't take it
Glad to hear that. 👍
Anyone ever notice the bird streams in orbit look like dna helix’s?
@hushed steeple another for the megabird constellation!
ah, gotcha, Triggerbot.
(I cannot explain what it is in this chat, apologies)
guys I’m too lazy to finish fluffy manta plushie
Wooly manta give me faith
stay strong out there
So I was playing the little prince again and noticed this guy laying around, it seems it has 3 horns or something, what do yall think it could be?
It may be the species thats gigantic and extinct, but this guy again has like 3 horns, so i dont know about that
same species?
Ooo forgot there was a skull in there! Yeah its the species thats extinct
You can do it!
Do it for them ❤️
Oof— I forgot about the statue head thing. I’ll send it in a second. It’s definitely the head of a statue by the way. Got a close look. Don’t know where it falls from
Video of the statue head!
First clip is when it first falls
The next are closer clips of the two pieces I found
I can try and edit a photo of what they’d look like together.
It’s split down the middle in a diagonal way. There’s two eyes like we see on our sky kid. One on the side to my skids left (more visible) and the right eye on the other side
Talk about a head splitting migraine.
Those poor petrified skids under it-
Minding your business and BONK
This might be stating the obvious, though, with where the statue kids were...
Would that mean that is where they have died?
While the ones that perished at the very start must have been hopelessly underprepared; could the ones under the statue head have been crushed?
And what of the ones at the very end?
Would they have been skykids that carried enough winged light to last that long?
Yeah I was joking about pasting it into their face, I’m sorry for not clarifying that 💙
Woke up just in time
Dark Souls boss music plays
stares menacingly at skybot you don’t know what you’ve started… this may be the beginning of the greatest battle lorechat has ever seen
You will die under the burning mask of the Prophecy Guide.
The dark dragon has been observed phasing through solid rock without warning on occasion, to the dismay of weary wanderers.
Yea krill break the laws of physics regularly
What if everything that has happened was because of the Megabird?
Could anyone by chance give me an entire Lore dump?
Just absolutely drown me. To just truely show how much the Sky Lore has taken over your life?
I like how this game has single-handedly become more lore-heavy and theory-heavy than the entire FNAF series.
Jeez I just realized Skids are created to die and be reborn...
Over...
And over...
And over again...
I may or may not have entered a cavity in the first cave in Dawn
sky lore has NOT taken over my life I am extremely normal (do not look at my camera roll)
I think I found 2 cavities instead, and it got me thinking if these were remainders of a previously planned pathway or a secret cavity that was later covered up (if they were to connect as they seem to go into the same direction)
What is up with me and finding hidden, secret, unused, or otherwise oob stuff in Dawn? It's like a goldmine for me
Make that 3 cavities because I didn't see one of them
Sky lore has also taken over my life but. I am like an online search engine, I need specific topics to focus on or else I don’t know where to start ,
S A M E
it’s like when someone asks you your favorite songs and you just short circuit
for me it's more like "I have a couple favorite songs but they're all in different genres and I don't know which one this person would like best"
OMG THE BEAM FROM THE EDEN CRYSTAL SHOOTS UP TOWARDS A CRESCENT MOON
like the wasteland moon?
Idk about GW but it shoots up and there's a moon
Yes I did have 70+ WL going in what's your deal?
The ? on the menu when it's time for you to give the light soul a hug mentions Friendship Abilities.
Now that I'm doing my Eden run and all I'll mention every little detail that could mean lore.
I'm guessing the castle at the beginning of the Final Flight is the King's.
final flight?
From PNR to Orbit.
ah, wasn't sure if you were bolding it because there was in-game text or not
No I just bold things like that.
Items, locations, important NPCs, etc.
understandable
Oh yea I think my VERY LAST WL (yes, the LAST ONE LEFT) I gave to the furthest statue.
Time to shamelessly plug: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Indugle me more! How were the Realms created and where did the Skids come from?
If you fly high enough in Orbit, the sky changes to be a light blue...
even higher than when the sky is dark like how it is in ascension?
Define "ascension".
The Skykids most likely come from Megabird, which is the guardian/leader of all the light in the universe.
ascension = Final Flight. commonly used term
If you fly high enough in orbit after summoning some elders and wait for a while up there, you can find them T-posing when you jump back down.
I need to try this
don't really know how the realms came into existence. the Elders likely ruled over their realms, may have collaborated with each other for the whole kingdom's welfare, but the realms are their realms – all composing the whole Sky world.
skykids are fallen stars, likely sent from the Light or Megabird, the proverbial god of Sky. upon their stars landing on the ground, skykids form their physical bodies. Megabird sent skykids to save the spirits petrified by darkness on the ground.
Ah okay
What I mean is that if you fly high (4 wedges is enough), the dark blue turns light blue.
ah. then yeah I’ve flown higher. it gets real pretty
Cool Cool- Now where hath the Darkness come from?...
This is the last thing you see after the Megabird.
Also I pointed out earlier that the beam flies into a crescent moon. However, what the honk am I looking at here? Why is there a WL up there?
that's the Light that we're drawn to throughout the game! You see it shining off the Eden mountain in various realms
Gotcha.
Now, in the same area but out of frame, there are butterflies going into a pipe.
also unclear. darkness as a force may have always existed. there's a thought that darkness is supposed to be in balance with light (see Vela talk about that: #lore-discussion-spoilers message). also considering that there are petrified spirits from perhaps early in the kingdom's timeline, darkness may have always been a threat to beings of light.
there is also a thought that darkness is borne from tragic incidents or unnatural deaths. it grows further on negative emotions such as fear and sorrow, overwhelming the beings of light who are scared of it. the abuse of light creatures that was very likely involved in the manufacturing of power diamonds, as depicted by the Treasure Reef facility, could then spawn darkness too.
(see also Salem's theory on darkness plants growing on corpses: #lore-discussion-spoilers message).
with the kingdom's production of power diamonds, the amount of darkness in the world increased. darkness was a byproduct in the manufacturing process, notably the polluted/dark water that was dumped in Wasteland. the Treasure Reef facility hints at how darkness corrupts light creatures into dark creatures light crabs, krill (dark dragons), and the leviathan.
the Eden Storm and the giant red corrupted diamond also produces darkness, though the nature of which is unknown. the Storm certainly accelerates darkness throughout the realms.
it’s really hard for me to phrase things right now sorry but darkness probablu existed in some kind of balance beforehand that got knocked out,
I have a whole conceptual theory on the proph/ench lights being more or less aligned with darkness in a kind of wheel which would imply that that balance has always existed as The elements that make up the world are aligned with either side
Is there a prophet of all the trial elements
Like an avatar
some think that's prophecy guide
HOW LARGE IS A DARK DRAGON IRL
Probably not- if it takes such big people to hold one an element each, I wouldn’t want to imagine the sheer size of someone who’d hold all of it.
NO IDEA- BUT I DO KNOW HOW FAST THEY ARE IRL
Imagine getting krilled irl
Using a measurement from legokidlogan, I found out that they attack at 29.42 MPH. However, finding the size would be much more difficult, since they’re always moving
Gonna find a reference
did you mean: prophecy guide
wait is fire prophet taller than
I’m 90% sure prophecy guide is taller than vault elder funfsct
who isn't taller than vault elder
prophecy guide shouldn't be able to fit through the isle portal
also true
Nice

someone was gonna say it
Fun fact: Prophecy guide is actually shorter than the Prophets
Oh something I’ve been wondering is
What’s the huge thing you see in the sky at the end of the credits? I can’t make sense of the shape—A phoenix??? A moth??? The golden snitch somehow???
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
Yeah I just checked, they seem to be about the same height as the Prophecy Guide in-game. Although my measure isn’t that consistent, it’s mostly just estimation.
It’s thought to be the Megabird, the ruler of all the Light in the Sky world and possibly the creator of it. @jaunty sandal also check the reply out
You mean this? That’s Megabird, the proverbial god of Sky
Huh
spaghetti
It seems to look like a twisted-up version of this drawing of Megabird, now that I think about it.
megabird is uneffected by gravity
got twisted around a fork
long
convoluted
edible (canon)
"My brother in Resh our god is literally spaghetti"
bottom level of sky lore iceberg: our god is literally spaghetti
Wait a sec-
Megabird is the Flying Spaghetti Monster
bottom bottom level of sky lore iceberg: ancestors are pastafarian
Sky: children of the spaghetti
We did it, ladies gentlemen and nonbinaries, we solved the lore of Sky
GreatWolf's flying spaghetti monster lore story
1/2: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
2/2: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
bonus: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Wait wait ok
So in Eden one of the main colors is red
If everything is spaghetti…
Eden is filled with spicy tomato sauce and red pepper flakes (rain/crystals)
If this is spaghetti then I’m assuming Resh is the marinara sauce
Oh lord someone else already came up with this before... And here I thought I came up with something original for once
Welp. Time for me to retire from lore.
i’m absolutely losing it
looks like we finally found the lore chat impasta
watch me kill the chat with one (1) pun /j /lh
i hc that golden wasteland is just florida
So is the temple Disney World?
Lore chat at the moment with spaghetti
It was a funny pun
We agree this is cannon right
the gods have spoken, after all
Indeed
golden wasteland is ShadowClan
crab whisperer is florida man
crabsong…
Wholesome TGC TikTok for once
the Wasteland Elder dorito
Good luck.
i’m a retired beta tester come join me
wait forgot to reply
Are the Abyss spirits Florida pirates then?
always have been pirates
something about the abyss spirits that has been bothering me. they all obviously have clothes meant for cold weather. is this meant to imply wasteland is cold when they were around? and if so would it still be cold today?
personally I say yes just because the clouds block All of the sunlight that would make it warm, but I know people usually assume it’s hot bc it’s a desert, so worth mentioning
Desert does not mean hot. I like the idea of Wasteland being a region with dramatic temperature shifts
I’d assume them being on a foggy environment right next to water must make it extremely wet. So, they need a rain jacket
I know deserts ≠ hot, that’s why I brought up the possibility in the first place
I think I heard in some concept stream or something that they're not actually from Wasteland/the sky kingdom, but somewhere farther north. Or, at least, this was a concept idea thing, rather than the current canon
-vague hand wave- Its been a fair bit
That is possible, but considering they’d still be in wasteland during their spirit memories, my point would still stand as they’d still have to wear the heavy clothes during wasteland weather. I wonder where they’d be from if not wasteland, though… the only place I can think of is somewhere outside the kingdom, but that just runs back into the whole unintentionally funny implications that other civilizations outside of the one we experience would have
unless confirmed otherwise I will probably just assume they’re from post apocalypse wasteland, just because it makes the most sense without logical leaps
I headcanon that darkness feels cold since it's the antithesis to the warmth light brings, but that could be true. even in the red fury of the Eden Storm could the air freeze your lips. with all the darkness in Wasteland, it could at least be chilly
doesn't the ocean get cold at night, like deserts do?
I think so, but then that just implies all the spirit memories we see of them took place at night, which I don’t know is true. It could follow the same logic of the cold being caused by lack of sunlight jsut due to the cloud cover, though
NO NO NO
NOT SKY GEOGRAPHY
LAND BREEZE SEA BREEZE IM FLASH BACKING TO 7TH GRADE SCIENCE
Ok ok let me think this through
Okay no, I'm drawing a hard line in the sand here. There is no way they'd make two separate models/clothing styles to show the abyss spirits are in a warmer place now.
they won't even give skids fingers
What do you mean? They’d only need one model either way depending on the temperature because we’d only see each of them at one fixed point in time. My argument is that the weather in wasteland is cold (or was when they were around) because they are wearing clothes for cold weather
maybe it's still cold around the Treasure Reef cos 1) ocean 2) the cloud cover is still thick there, blocking enough sunlight.
They go diving into the sea in clothing that would probably get heavy and make swimming even harder tbh, I don't think their clothes like, mean something especially profound about their current environment
this is what I am thinking too
I can’t tell if I’m misunderstanding this post or something, but I heavily doubt weather wouldn’t have been considered at all when designing their outfits.
I think it was taken into account, I just don't think treasure reef was the be all end all of it (which tbh, is a bit odd but still)
Neither do I, I’m saying that they weren’t designed with clothes for warmer weather BECAUSE wasteland (the only place we actually see them in) is on the colder side.
I’m tightly wound up out of frustration and I just feel like I’m not communicating my points properly, so I will discontinue this conversation and probably pick it up again later
Yeah, let's take a breather
also consider there isn't a lot of storage on the one boat they got. perhaps the clothes they're wearing are literally all the clothes they have
an excellent point
oh no imagine the STINK
that's why the Abyss crew needs a bath
Just go swimming in the ocean. It'll wash you and your clothes lol
I also heavily subscribe to the headcanon that at least 80% of the clothes they DO have are stolen which just adds another layer to this
This might work irl (I haven’t tried it. I don’t know personally) but my educated guess is that the water around treasure reef is contaminated on a low level with darkness pollution. Not concentrated like the puddles of dark water we find, and it drains us a lot slower, but still enough to be on the “I don’t know if I’d want to take a bath in that” side
this unfortunately means that if the abyss spirits took a bath in the ocean they are only doomed to get even more stinkey
I think at this point a bath would fall short. We need to powerwash them
I'll go get the flight crew
Didn’t Cannoneer already take a bath?
isn't wasteland meant to be connected to Valley? Is it at all possible it's especially frigid because of the proximity, even through the cloud forest and swirly cloud drain between the two?
did you know: ||after you meet with Elder Lamed, you are taken back to the ground floor but something is off. All the flames are out and a new path appears
The Gateway to EDEN
PS: this was my personal observation and didn’t want to break any rules||
is it the ground floor? I always sort of imagined it as the top floor
....or is Vault just a projection...
if you look closely, you can see the specific parts of that main chamber
after the Vault Elder cutscene, you're in the top floor. wouldn't make sense to go up and up the elevator only to leave the same way you came. also the top floor doesn't resemble the bottom floor.
also you can see the top of the Vault just before the Eden gate.
was gonna say, the bottom floor do be kinda massive compared to the final room
IDK ¯_(ツ)_/¯
is that the same structure we see in the first part of eden? just behind the door?
I was either very tired or looking for some way to contribute to the lore
maybe both
honey no i appreciate it dw, im in a vault lore mood now
//sorry the pet name is a habit, hope that doesnt bother you
im curious to know what lorechat has figured out for Vault? I remember there being a theory that it was all a projection-
and what about that final room, anyway? Why is the elevator broken after that?
that's the Vault, the place you just left if you went to Eden after the Vault Elder's cutscene
ohh now that you mention it yeah- it has the same arch structures on the inside too
@static meteor You're fine. In fact, you made my day!
@frigid tinsel ... terrifying
worth noting that most of the Vault is underground in the Eden mountain, so that image if just the top floor that pokes out
my personal take on vault is that it was manifested out of purple light and is almost… I guess the closest thing to describe it as is a tangible illusion? As time goes on and the illusion decays, so does the vault, hence why it looks so Weird. There’s still stuff under it in this plane of reality that slowly gets revealed as it decays, kinda like when you’re drawing something digitally and have different layers that you erase and turn off at will.
My conceptual layers for Vault include:
- bottom layer. An empty cylindrical cave reaching to Eden’s peak. Basically just the terrain.
- middle layer. Held vault’s original appearance; all the architecture here is half destroyed and crumbled by time. In some places the cave is collapsed entirely. The last room before Eden, the one after the cutscene, is on this layer.
- top layer. Is a decaying memory of what vault used to look like, remanifested into reality. Unfortunately, due to the unreliable nature of memories and time, more and more holes are poked in this reality to reveal the crumbling architecture beneath and the bare terrain.
There are some extra notes here. For example I consider starlight desert to follow this rule without the middle layer - it’s basically the top layer directly transposed onto the bottom, following the same rules of gradual decay. I also believe that another place in Sky, the forgotten ark, has two layers of reality in the same way - the bottom which contains the terrain and wreckage, and the top, created by purple light, which contains the tents and spell shops.
Is this a really weird way of looking at it? Probably. But it’s cool as hell, it makes logical sense, and it makes my life easier, so I’m sticking with it
The vault do be funky, but it also gives gender, and it’s my person favourite
Isn't the building in the battlefield and the building in that photo are different I mean if you go back to the isle temple you can see that their is a tall building after the one in the battlefield maybe both this building are connected with a underground tunnel way?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
That tall building is the vault tower
the Wasteland Elder temple is basically the entrance of the Vault
And I always thought that we are inside the same building lol
that's pretty much all it is at this point. wasteland opening text reads "Beyond the barren wastes, the Vault of Knowledge awaits." nothing of note left there besides what lies beyond
Yeah
this neat little architectural detail has fun implications as to why that is, in terms of how the elders function and all,
Wasteland 🤝 Isle
Largely forgotten about or seen as unimportant, even disliked by a large majority of the players, but still the best realms (I am not biased at all I swear)
I love isle it's so peaceful and tranquil
are you me. wasteland was my favorite realm for a long time before it got surpassed by isle
Wasteland unimportant? who says that? sheesh
The isle is such a calming but melancholy realm. Very pretty
wasteland haters simply need to git gud (for legal reasons this is a joke)
maybe… >:3
I don’t hate the wasteland, I like the sound track just. It scares me. The bonfire is cool, fun memories of a friend trying to sacrifice a crab to the krills there
always been the type to fall in love with areas that just kind of suck. places in games that no one in-universe would want to be. I used 2 have another really good example but I forgot a year ago 😔
krill dodging really gets the adrenaline going
Not as in the fanbase’s perception of it, but with the ingame flavor text we mentioned above. The realm doesn’t get a description sentence that doesn’t revolve around another realm entirely, and the Wasteland temple is basically the equivalent of living in your friend’s basement
@keen shore LMAO
I have a strong like towards Eden, so eerily pretty
@rapid arrow so you also like Eden?
tbf the Wasteland is a wasteland. there's not much to it – whatever was there was wiped out. but it is important in showing us just how bad things got for the kingdom and has evidence of war, something we hadn't seen up until then.
eden is mean to me but I like the vibes
also pspspsps I made a flavor text compilation here if anyone wants 2 see all of them, it's where i'm copy-pasting from: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Yeah. I saw the green clouds first flying in as a moth and just went- something went horribly wrong here huh-
Wasteland is not just a wasteland… it is my home 💛
- live laugh love style sign found in some wasteland spirit’s house or something idk
- me as a moth
my favorite bit of flavor text trivia is that it looks like tgc decided to start using periods all the time for the new areas starting with season of assembly
Wow, what a strange disaster revolving around massive clouds of toxic green gas. I really hope isle elder didn’t have anything to do with it!
Crab Whisperer prob had one only cos it was the one bit of decoration they found that could liven up the mood no matter how cheesy
@rigid mural see I’m not the only one who deserves cheesings
I'd eat the cheese
The wasteland is most definitely a warm cool. It’s like humid but it’s still chilly? Feverish
Alasdair I am definitely not sending you a bouquet of flowers
UNFAIR
He doesn't like pollen.
SHSJAKFJDJAKAL I REALIZED THE MOMENT BEFORE YOU SENT THAT MESSAGE
as if I haven't been chugging allergy medication for the past two weeks
I just refuse to have allergies, git gud
was prepared to be like this cat angry over my unfair treatment
Size is accurate at least.
you’re correct but I don’t know how to feel about it
not against giving CW allergies in the fic
How
They probably ate dirt as a kid and still do
the mere possibility of live laugh lough wasteland signs is killing me
I was outside for 70% of my childhood and I still have hayfever, you never know
I drank puddle water when I was a kid? And when I do get sick it hurts. Barely get sick but when I do oh god
I don't wanna once again deviate from lore so I'm just gonna say:
While sunset is the romantic waning of sunlight, dusk is usually when parents want their children indoors and people start being rightfully a bit more wary outside; perhaps this could be another reason why the midlife crisis realm is so menacing
Dirt makes up 75% of their diet and the other 25% is cheese
Goodnight lore chat 💙
we do, literally, go indoors after Wasteland. in fact, we're chased in there by the krill the temple gate opening summons, like monsters coming out after dark.
Am once again faced with the unfortunate knowledge that my favorite realms are baby realm and midlife crises realm 💔
meanwhile those reflect all my favorite characters, dunno how 2 feel about that
babies going through a midlife crisis
TLP moths realizing that it’s possible for spirits from that season to arrive as ts
we don't know that yet–
⬆️ an example
tlp moths in chat I am looking directly at you
Salem, that's a pretty loaded attempt at a dig considering your season's spirits all came as TS by now.
Same for Spade
i feel so attacked right now /j
yeah, and? they look nice
yeah because I’m not a BABY like you all are that’s why . my skykid pays SKYKID TAXES and has a skykid job and
my skykid is having a midlife crisis. take that
does running around meowing at Forest Elder count as a job?
hello there
yes it does and I am getting paid for it thank you very much /j
Can you guys tell me some lore?
that's a broad topic. what in particular are you interested in?
wasteland, i like krills
wasteland theory Dusk elder did nothing wrong (do not take this seriously)
who's dusk elder again, the wasteland elder?
krills have been confirmed to be corrupted light creatures. what they were before corruption remains up to debate
what if they're sky kids who accepted a deal from the devil hmmm 👀 (jk I got no evidence)
while we don’t have any confirmed un-corrupted krill look at this silly creature getting up to mischief in the switch trailer. similar, yes?

that's a big spooder
those r fins. like manta but longer
I think you could grill that creature to create a tasty and appetizing meal.
I think I could attack you in broad daylight that is a FRIEND
Not anymore. Now he is a fried! :-)
fred
Salem thinks light tastes sweet, they're a krill
they r all gone anyways :(
IM NOT
augh, the beast is demonic in nature. very icky, no good
I'm with Spade on that one, attacking Salem in my dreams.
Psychic damage.
krill can send emails, I have no doubt they can wear a façade of a kitty
vela's aoe attack deals large amounts of psychic damage be very careful
witch hunting …
i am imprisoning you in a laundry basket
I have experienced it it tastes like cheese
Smh all Salem wanted was just to grill
YOU GET IT
yea grill a light creature
Yeah, it looks tasty, I'd want to grill the weird spider too... If I didn't have entomophobia
All I wanted to do… was have a little taste… and now I am the villain…
do y’all know what spiders look like cuz that is not it
another krill spotted
I literally can't look at real spiders for that long, those things are terrifying
maybe I will eat u alalsdair
I'm not edible
Everything is edible if you bite hard enough
That’s What They All Say…. And they all taste like bananas
how did you get early access to Fruit ts
the reason gloat hasn’t appeared as ts yet is because I ate them sorry everyone
I'm also not a fruit
ok alaspear
heresy
oh shoot that reminds me. throwing e/em at Fruit
See look how cute I am how could you possibly believe I am a murderous beast like the krill
oh I thought this was you
ok that might be a more accurate representation of me. unfortunately it does not help to prove my point
Seeing this conversation gave me the idea for a funny headcanon
What if Wasteland went to war because Dusk and Sunset couldn't stop name-calling each other
Like it started as some silly lighthearted thing but it just kept escalating to unbelievable heights
Like Dusk called one of the Sunsets "Dora the explorer" once and it triggered a domino effect that ended up in war
I imagine they would’ve had some tension due to the darkness pollution power diamond production caused, which harmed the people they were supposed to protect, yet the luxurity of Valley was dependent on darkstone tech, so
it just keeps getting worse because they keep making fun of each others defensive formations and weapons
Dusk: the stairs in your citadel aren’t even sized for the people, how are they supposed to navigate it?
Sunset: it’s for us so we get a good look of our atillery shooting your butt.
Everything was fine until Sunset crossed the line by calling Dusk's spear "lame"
That's the one event that triggered the war
justified tbh. you can’t just go after a guys spear like that. uncalled for
birds in sky are so interesting,, like why do they fly in that specific formation in forest 2nd area? why are there so many?
They’re on a journey, migration
Heheheh, you always ask for me to lead Wasteland because you're scraed of getting krilled, then I start messing around with krills :P
Hi everyone! Just got into the sky lore and was wondering what you guys have come to a conclusion or gotten confirmed?
Literally nothing, another than power diamonds are made out of light creatures
Oh dear
I just got my ‘non’ mask and realized that the skids eyes are closed. It reminded me of the mask discussion last night and wondered if anyone had a theory over why sky kids don’t have open eyes without a mask?
oh my god youre right
well,, sky kids are fallen stars right..? so they shouldnt biologically need eyes to see.. so maybe they just have masks so that spirits wont be frightened by them
I’ve drawn this (imagine the tears and eyes are glowing
Yeah they are just light, but I found it fascinating that the eyes glow in masks
OOOOH, i love that - it’s so sad but cool
I personally think that light like stuff would leak out and it would hurt a bit
It's discussion, it's basically just game theory but for Sky :)
wooly manta reminds you to drink water lore chat!
bless the wooly manta
Well so far my conclusion is that the pollution from wasteland affects other realms and that pollution is what causes the crabs to be aggressive and the mantas to become krills. ||I developed this theory from the friendly crabs in office and the far island on sanctuary and had it confirmed with the release of the final quest of abyss||
Indifferent alchemist when
We do not know. Lorechat is not the place for TS discussion like this
Sorry but this is the first thing I looked at upon waking up, thank you for bird vid.
I’m so tired that I swore you just said
“My concoction to pollute the wasteland—“
Instead of
“My conclusion is that the pollution from wasteland..”
In other news
Do we have theories about the lightseeker cave in isle?
Probably someone does I just haven’t heard about it much
Also I vote that when sky kids masks are off: their eyes physically cannot handle the light and they blind everyone within a 5 mile radius and cause mass radiation
They are coming to mob Teth? /j
I know it's dev doodles, but i believe in elder bird variants
It includes 2 spirits of the Dawn realm, one of them is seemingly affected by the darkess (based on the dark plant growing on the rejecting voyager at the very last fragment)
The cave also has a boat that is carrying glowing orbs.
If this is to represent the Ark, then Dawn could have a more important role to play in the history of Sky, than at first glance.
Especially when considering that this tiny boat can be seen in Day as a miniature.
I wonder if this could be a reference to the Forgotten Ark?

Source.
I believe in elder bird...
Thank you for posting the source.
They also got beer.
Ah yes, implications that under age drinking is just fine in sky
Must be root beer
Oh god don’t let the sky kids get their hands on that-
Let alone sugar
This implies sky kids can drink to begin with
The 3rd possibility is that the skids aren't actually children, which frankly, is hilarious
Chibi sky kid scolding an ancestor for calling them a baby when they are practically their grandmother
You see a chibi with a beer tankard and it turns out they're like 67 or something
Real talk, do you think being reborn 'stunts their growth' in a way? If our skids remember everything but are reborn into a new body, are we certain they aren't actually adults in tiny child bodies (their behavior is childish but also, maybe regression based trauma?)
Laughing Lightcatcher in the second and third pic lmao
I’ve sort of seen the rebirth as sky kids in the same body they had before. Sort of like the gift of spirits giving us winged light after ascending them, we get our original forms back
Sort of like why when we ascend and get our cape back we’re wearing the same outfit/hair/etc before we even get the new body
I like to think skykids are ageless due to the cycle of death and rebirth, there's just an experience curve.
Wait, is one of the skids in the drinking pic riding piggy back on another one? The two in the middle
Someone dragged the moth along— they should know better
New solution to the pollution in wasteland:
Fill the water with those expanding sponges that turn into little animal shapes
It’ll probably cause more problems but worth a shot
Also do we know what light seekers did?
It seems sort of like a hobby for them considering they’re all over the place and do other things (like twirling being in a band-)
What kind of light were they searching for and why??
Was it explained during the season?

Living for the massive character development of the lightseekers
Really love trees according to days of nature
Piggyback and twirling
Crab whisperer doesn’t like kids-
Twirling is in a band
It's possible that it's the other way around and Twirling Champion is in a band as a hobby, since out of them all only Mellow Musician has something close a typical avian mask for entertainers !
As for the lights, it's still unclear, but they were often likened to the "stars" we see on some murals in the Isle of Dawn, and what we see the Laughing Lightcatcher gather with another spirit in their memory !
I wonder if it’s a common thing to need to search for these lights
If we assume they couldn’t open certain doors or activate the power diamonds and things that we do with our candles, maybe it’s how they powered their society
Like the boats in dreams village
Maybe enchantment are a more professional version of this too learning how to use light for other magic besides powering boats, doors, etc.
Salem thinks the Enchantment crew was from the Isle.
I bet they’re from the same place the light they used is from
So purple light, vault
Orange, forest
Etc. etc.
maybe they didn’t all know each other and just studied these kinds of things on their own until ✨poof✨ a discovery of a new magic
How many mishaps do you think the enchantment crew had with those lights-
I doubt someone could do what they did with them first try
I need Salem to explain this, I believe they were from gw since the cosmetics look like form people from the desert but since isle is a desert too that also can make sense
That can be a valid option due to the mural in the ark show some people in fling boat getting together different lights so maybe they all went to gw and then they try to go to eden and fail (or other place idk) or maybe they started from isle and picking up people
We should also remember during the ancestors time isle wasnt a desert! We’ve seen images of a green and colorful isle from the release trailer
Though I do wonder if that implies golden wasteland wasn’t one
I think it could have been depending on if valley was always snowy and if not, what it looked like before
Yeah maybe gw looks like an oasis in middle of the desert but I like to think it used to have desert
It could have also been somewhat like sanctuary considering it’s surrounded by water on all sides
Well but that included the name couldn’t be golden wasteland so , did it have another name?
I think so.
Golden wasteland is someone dark and greenish. Different than what I’d consider gold
I bet the place was sunny and filled with golden sand or maybe just very abundant with life and materials and the ‘golden’ part really refers to wealth and abundance rather than color
That’s make a lot of sense it should be call now toxic green wastelands
Definitely
It could be a play on words if the golden part did refer to abundance of materials, life, and light
Especially now that’s it’s corrupted and overrun with darkness, nothing left
It was a glittering sanctuary of gold and now it’s a wasteland of pollution and dark dragons
Ooh. Speaking of the different realms
What’s cool I’ve noticed is that from isle going to prairie, you’re already up in the clouds to get to the temple
And then you get to a floating prairie, which people have questioned about it really being in the sky
I’d like to say it is since to get to forest, on the ground (probably)
The temple in the sky drops back down through the clouds to get to the forest below It, no longer floating islands
Basically I think the entirety of prairie is floating besides the sanctuary
Sanctuary is another area you need to drop below to the actual ground/sea level
always thought of it once being the jewel of the realms, so to speak. we know that valley and wasteland used to be one (or at least connected) as an area known as Golden Valley. So the realm after valley is the “once-golden wasteland” basically
oh hey, you know what we know has the ability to make things float? the cyan prophecy light
Ooh
Do you think flight guide got access to it-
I think that it's possible the altitude in the realms reflects the mood curve in concept art ! It's low in Isle, higher in Prairie, lower in Forest, highest in Valley, lowest in the Wasteland and climbs back up in Vault.
In Eden it's a bit special since it drops while you climb the mountain, but it's probably to contrast with the ascension.
my thinking is, either some of the earliest ancestors had access to the prophecy lights and used them to shape the realms (in this case creating floating islands) or, since the prophecy lights are pretty much the elements, areas with a higher concentration of a specific type of light are shaped to its power. and the cyan enchantment light appears in the clouds right before the prairie social area.
oh wait actually maybe clouds and cyan light are connected, a lot of areas with floating islands also have clouds. granted tgc often uses clouds to hide their random assets but maybe?
can’t believe prairie gets to benefit from the effects of 2 enchantment lights smh
You know what’s cool about flight guide being a past apprentice to prairie guide?
What it shows about the ability to keep levitating islands like prairie and the wind paths
In the birds nest of prairie there’s constantly wind below and around (pushes you up if you go down too far)
While the wind path main island also has wind but more aggressively
Both have islands with small holes/caves but the wind paths islands have more meaning the wind flowing through them is likely a big part of what holds those islands in the air.
Of course, flight guide being an apprentice would mean they’re a bit weaker so of course they’d have a more powerful force to hold their island up too
The other thing is the ones held up by clouds like butterfly fields and the temple
We see it in the wind paths too with the islands throughout the clouds or the entrances to different seasonal areas
The difference being how the wind path islands are surrounded almost entirely in order to be held up. There’s also many more clouds in somewhat spastic patterns
This also shows the flight guide being somewhat weaker but shows what it takes to do that sort of thing again
It leads to the question of:
What if other elders had apprentices? What could they learn and do? What would we learn isn’t a natural element of other realms?
Could valley elder apprentices learn to make formations similar to those in the flying races with all the cloud tunnels and boosts?
Would a forest elder apprentice be able to do things with weather?
Also my bad for a wild rant about the wind paths-
holes in the island makes me wonder if there would be creatures that would burrow through them.
While it is possible for a tunnel of wind would eventually erode through rock, the way some paths twist and turn in the larger islands may suggest a creature's path and not a path of least resistance.
Floating islands had to be able to do so for a reason.
I like to think that natural dark stone in the islands are what makes them float.
What gave the idea is how refined dark stone can hold up entire buildings, and the material supposedly come naturally from the ground.
Perhaps if there is enough dark stone in a piece of earth, and the area where the dark stone is loose enough to be dislodged, it can float.
That is although just a headcanon for now, as I have no solid evidence to support this (as in no visible dark stones in the islands), other than just proposing the idea.
didn't it used to be connected to valley? thus giving it the name Golden Valley?
Yup
The tweet itself: https://twitter.com/thatskygame/status/1283925628371099648
Wasteland and Valley share similar architecture styles
So that makes Village of Dreams, Golden Valley and the Golden Wasteland have been always a desert with no gold or something?
What do you think the biome was like?
Like I said I think it used to be just a desert, maybe some places have more plant and green like forgotten ark but due to the pollution and war they died
Btw is there somewhere some concept art of gw?
Well just based on my own region with high mountains leading down. It was definitely a warmer climate, so probably it was an area with orchards and such. But yeah I bet it was sunny and a nice climate.
Maybe a Mediterranean like climate
No. The Wasteland was not always a wasteland. This pic from the teaser for the upcoming animation showed as much. The pollution and possibly the Eden calamity ruined it.
Also Valley of Triumph as we know today are in the mountains. Due to the high elevation, they are covered in snow. That’s just how mountaintops are — not deserts.
I was finally able to go to the final area in Wasteland without getting gut punched remembering that pic. Welp, back to trying not to cry for me
I wonder if it got renamed to Golden Wasteland legitimately, or if only the skids call it that. Like, the spirits get called stuff like 'mellow musician' instead of their name, which may imply it's the skids assigning them random traits they see/odd nickname conventions
Sky Theory:
The reason the spirits and the Elders don't have official names is because that game company is lazy.
I mean, we did have concept names for Elders, so it's not like they're too lazy to come up with names at all.
But seriously, concept stuff shows skids with names like 'brave bud' 'princess puff' and 'tiny trick', it'd be interesting if the spirit names really were just an example of skid culture
Odd way to spell stubbornly, aggressively vague
lol, skids calling season guides 'guides' because they've been diagnosed with mom friend
I like to think the spirits have the same names you see in the random name generator for friends
it seems the devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent: Isle – Dawn Prairie – Day or Daylight Forest – Rain Valley – Sunset Wasteland – Dusk Vault – Night
Whether these are their actual names or not are debatable. Worth noting that said names are derived from the “time of day” model the realms were developed on.
More headcanon but I like to think these are the Elders’ true names, given based on the time of day they were born / their stars landed upon the world since the Elders are fallen stars
Performance Guide: Welcome to the Village Thea-
Skid: -points- Mom friend
Performance Guide: Excuse me?
Okay I'll stop now
Yeah, actual time of day names are the closest we currently have to canon. I'm never sure which to use honestly
I would hate to be the Elder called “late afternoon”.
'Late Afternoon is late' 'you don't say'
It’s just a tiny awkward little area between Valley and Wasteland.
Wouldn't it be between prairie and rain?
Probably. But I like the idea of it being the field of clouds before the hurricane but after the drop.
“So what am I the elder of?”
“You get some clouds and occasional pillars. Enjoy.”
I love the time of day names but also they’re incredibly frustrating sometimes. why does dawn not align with dusk. why does day not align with night. why make the distinction between sunset and dusk but not between sunrise and dawn. why is forest elder not named after a time of day
I understand the actual logic but my parallels…
/lh
everything is shifted slightly to the left
Forest Elder is sort of named after a time of day. Or rather, a lack of time of day. You can never tell what time it is when it rains. It obscures some of the signs, much like how forest makes it easy to get lost (especially in concept, that forest was so cool)
for Forest Elder, I imagine they were born during a rainstorm, which can obscure the time of day – hence Rain.
also dawn is the beginning of the day while night is considered the end of the day, so I can see the parallel there. granted none of my other parallels make that sort of sense neither.
Dawn – Night
Day – Dusk (unless Day is really Daylight in which case dusk is the end of the daylight).
Rain – Sunset (yea, I'm with you there too, bud).
granted I think of the parallels not in accordance to the time of day but rather their skillsets – both Dawn and Night are spiritual leaders, Day and Dusk dealt with relationships between nature and people, Rain and Sunset encourage craft.
Considering it's called Day_light_ Prairie, I think the elder really is the daylight elder rather than just 'day' but daylight is a mouthful in comparison
I think these names come from the original realm names in light awaits? not sure if prairie was called day or daylight back then but I’m leaning towards Day
The names are from concept development where the realms were modeled off times of day and states of life, but devs seem to refer to the realms by the times of day names. See the Days of Bloom trailer refers to Forest as Rain
I think elder forest name would be lunch cuz it’s the time between the daylight and the sunset L U N C H
the best time
definitive proof that there are no british people in sky. we don’t have a teatime realm
wait is that the crab umbrella pic representing rain? Yes
"Rain" being "teenage" works so well.
It's so very emo. But also the forest elder implications
-_-
I am British

ok and?
Apparently there is one british person in sky. Only one.
Mean-
The British died with everyone else in the calamity.
Cosmos is the only known survivor. The ultimate survivalist
Hehehe
That makes him His Majesty, King Cosmos I of England.
BOW DOWN, or I am owed all your life savings of candles, seasonal candles, hearts, ascended candles ANDDDD all your cosmetics that I don't own
As well as the wing buffs, imma steal them:)
yup, sounds British
However I do not have tea
purple bloom tea set
there’s only one thing we can do. get the help of the natural enemy of the british. Where is The Little Prince
Did you mean my birth realm? 🤔
you're a tlp moth?
What would you name a elder born in a solar eclipse????
18th Aug '21 at 1am
Also
All Hail Cosmos, King of all the 7 realms!
You can have all my abyss cosmetics beside the ult cape
Plus all my chimesmith stuff
The elder gets the totally sick name of 'Eclipse' and they're either more popular than valley or everyone is upset they're not as cool as their namesake
a brit born during the french season. wild
They take over eden after the king gets corrupted cause they are cooler than krill and can tame them
I did Flight to current so far along with most the TS between Jelly onwards :)
Anything before then is nice xD
Fine you can have my grandma fluffy feast cape
TLP moth too
TLP moths unite
Abyss Moths still moths
Unite under our leader
@trim yoke
(Sorry for ping, accident)
I mean times of the day is better than just being called 7:00 in the morning
Personal belief: the king came down during the like 5 seconds every few years that aren’t in a day…
so the elders had no idea what to call him and so they just were like “prince” and that was it
the true eclipse elder was the king all along
Actually scrap my idea this is better
EDIT: like 10000x better
I thought it was what you were saying tbh. Or are you talking about leap year math?
Leap year math…
EDIT: The eclipse elder was the toppled chair in vault… they ran eden before the king but then the king exiled them so he could have eden to himself
I think it's something like 'every year has an extra 6 hours' and that's why leap year is every 4 years. 6 x 4 is the 24 needed for another day. It's not that leap year is an extra day, we're catching up on all the time we ignored all at once.
Plus a few seconds I think… like every other decade there is like 1-7 seconds I think…
But I could be wrong
Lemme check
Yep every hundred year there is an extra 1.5 milliseconds which adds up over time so that you can get and extra second sometimes
Like on June 30 2012
The king shows up for a few seconds every few years to honk at the other elders and poofs
okay, it's time for bed for me. This was fun tho
Never mind I forgot what I was going to add
Sorry
lol, no harm no foul
I may end up drawing a little concept for that because it sounds awesome
is there a list of canon names in sky? like which spirits have which names?
We could divide the hours of the day by 6 elders, which means each gets 4 hours. There's similar symbolism with the chinese zodiac where each animal gets to represent some hours per day I think.
Dawn: 4am-8am
Day: 8am-12pm
Rain (noon): 12pm-4pm
Sunset: 4pm-8pm
Dusk: 8pm-12am
Night: 12am-4am
I looked it up, and it seems that the word dusk "is the period of twilight between complete darkness and sunrise (or sunset)." and "dawn refers to morning, while dusk refers only to the evening twilight."
Pretty blurry imo.
I don’t know why but when you put Rain at noon the first thing I thought of was that if it weren’t for the rainclouds and trees, the shadows there would be the shortest
Yes, dusk has connotations with darkness
It's twilight basically
Eden could be a manifestation of the saying "it's always darkest before dawn"
I get that seems farfetched but I think they're the same/extensions of the same region of the sky world
I actually think something similar!
why? Well if you examine golden wasteland, the 2nd area with the first krill literally is probably the forest temple.
There's a similar door mechanism that leads to graveyard, which I think is the area after forest but polluted and dead because of the overexploitation of it
Oh yeah! both of those areas are darkstone refineries, treasure reef is one as well
well they're all times of the day, different parts that compose the whole
Okay, also yk the oil/water, what if that was due to flooding + pollution from the refineries in forest? It rained a lot, but the reason It doesn't rain in gw is because of the cloud holes due to pollution
sky is an allegory for corruption and climate change I rest my case
All three of them have a star symbol scattered around (similar to
but not quite the same) that get more common closer to the mechanisms and make me think that that sumbol is basically just a “this is a refinery” sign. I’ll grab a pic for you hold on
This one! You’ve probably seen it at the forest temple, just because it’s the least destroyed out of the three and therefore the most obvious one. It’s also around the path leading up to the temple, in the second area of Wasteland near the wheel mechanism (although it’s a struggle to find it without the glow spell)… and in Treasure Reef on the pedestal atop the lighthouse. There’s also a bit of concept art which demonstrates how refineries work I’ll grab it for you
These
YEAH THOSE I COUDONT FIND IT WHERE DID HOU GET IT
thanks you for not brushing off my theory guys!!! Also wow information!!!!
I have another theory
Vault is yet another further extension of valley, a grand library of knowledge commissioned by the king
YEAHHHH I have evidences for it and it makes me happy so. I would love to get it confirmed as a fact that they were designed as being from Isle, but it’ll probably just be left up to interpretation 💔
Oh well, it is canon in my heart
Salem, I agree with you!
folds neatly and places into sky lore box
what other theories do we have lore chat I love hearing these
I think Flight isn’t in league with any of the elders but is hiding away and protecting light creature migration paths and giving them an alternative to going through Forest, where they’re more likely to be caught for darkstone production
Yeah!! I have always kinda thought this on some level. Like the entirety of valley through vault is just one giant city around Eden. In early concept art there was a city called “golden valley” which is heavily implied to be wasteland+valley, but I can’t remember if Vault is included as well or if it’s just kinda there and more associated with Eden
omggg this is making me so happy aaaaww but yeah I love this idea
Flight!! I was just thinking about flight!! And about how it ties into the realm themes and whatnot
Considering the entrance is near hidden forest, this makes a lot of sense!
mad I skipped it
I love Flight. Technically I was born in TLP but I was a very disoriented moth and Flight was my first real season. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Honestly speaking, even though I joined at the tail end of assembly, abyss is my first real season (what about tlp and flight? I was on hiatus)
Flight was introduced to make Forest even more accurate to how adolescence is. This is because when you become a teenager you get two choices of what to become:
- Emo furry. cries a lot. Obsessed with cool rocks
- Awesome person who likes birds and would beat up environmental polluters
/j
Flight is about passion, this is why all the spirits are bird nerds
While we know the wind paths were Flight guide’s idea for a “more harmonious future”, they were Prairie Elder’s apprentice. The wind paths are stationed in Forest though, which might’ve put it under Forest Elder’s jurisdiction, though it’s entrance is very close to the back of Prairie Elder temple. If perhaps Prairie Elder disliked what Forest Elder was doing to light creatures, then could the Wind Paths be a way of subtly opposing Forest Elder and the cruetly neccesitated by power diamond production?
@formal skiff’s absolute best season to start
and THIS is why I love isle and prairie, they're so funky
giggling at the idea of flight guide putting a sign on the entrance that just says “BETTER FOREST”
it's no coincidence that Flight has you going up from the social space instead of down to the rest of the forest. The realm heights tie into the emotional highs/lows of the stages of life
- forest elder can control water
- clouds are made out of water
do you think the wind path’s forest entrance is so shrouded in clouds and hidden away out of pure spite
I know you're joking but I think the clouds in sky might be more tied to cyan light
Years are added onto my life thinking about rivalries with Forest Elder cos Forest Elder is seldom overt
Clouds are made with water vapor. Maybe with cyan light one could indirectly control where clouds go by moving them with wind but more likely one could directly control clouds, perhaps in how they form, with blue light.
yeah I know how clouds work, I just noticed recently that a lot of areas with floating islands have clouds right next to them, and that cyan light shows up among the clouds behind the isle temple
Ye, either they and Day agreed, or in a darker version, they discovered that Day was knowingly shuttering light creatures to their doom and stopped associating with them
I agree, it can lead to hilariously funny scenarios. especially because I feel like they are the most likely elder to get annoyed at you and have motivation to do things in the first place
did you know that they were friends in earlier concepts of the game
every time I remember forest’s concept personality I have to struggle to hold it together
Teth: pspspspsps I have candles
Concept Ayin also was noted for occasionally carrying an umbrella (like teth), holding the keys to teth's realm, and being drunk (oh hey, also like concept teth)
your honor they're friends
the only inaccuracy in this message is that you would be the one pssspsssing to summon them (cat)
Friends who had a falling out over power diamond production
I really Hope this general concept is still canon. Maybe not both of them being constantly drunk but as a one time event at least, just because imagining forest drinking refinery water out of curiosity and getting drunk by accident then being embarrassed about it for the rest of their life kills me everytime
circle
wake up dad :(
me that one time the game was breaking and it took 5 minutes to get the meditation spot to work and I started getting legitimately sad about it
Day: I’ll tell Sunset about the dark water incident—
Rain: no
Day: —unless you let my apprentice set up their Wind Paths idea in your realm.
Rain:
the only possible way you could have made my scenario funnier is by making everyone else use it as blackmail, congratulations, I laughed so hard I snorted
Used a reaction image cos I couldn’t think of a word
it's a wonderful image
theory - You see the return shrine? Well these are also in Eden and they're a source of light to recharge
That's got me thinking, is this some sort of importanr figure? The queen, maybe?
Skykid or the king, who might’ve been a proto-skykid
It bears some resemblance to the Vault Elder, now that I think of it. But it could’ve been a generic figure
I think it's a skykid yeah
That's cool, actually
however the idea that there could have been a sky royal that cared for a proto skykid/ skykid would be interesting
can someone throw me isle theories I'm bored and I need lore fuel
I have this image comparing the skykid statue in prairie to the homespace statue
I see, interesting, thank you!
oh and since you mentioned isle theories, there’s this one theory that the prophecy murals depicting the elders with light on the walls are much older than the ones on the ceiling, based on their depictions (yes i do make a lot of these)
see in the first mural set, the elders are all relatively the same size, only a bit taller than their realm spirits, and have the two lines on their chests that all depictions of ancestors have. but in the second set, they're taller, and drawn with way less ancestor , possibly showing that they grew in power but also became less connected to the people of their realms
oooh interesting

Maybe the two lines are meant to represent the mountain-like patterns in the clothes of ancestors, which represent that they're tied to the ground, incapable of natural flight
maybe due to the Ascension of protoskykid aka the king?
Doubling down on this:
Maybe with the power of the lights, the elders transcended the physical realm becoming no longer tied to the physical ground, and that's the origin of their cutscenes dimensions
yooooo that's so cool I like that
They banished themselves to the shadow realm to obtain more power
Alternatively, they are tied down into their physical statue, hence we see a memory of them?
I'm not too sure about my take
Hmmm... Maybe. Or maybe it's not really a memory of them that we see, and the cutscene just repeats every time because it's a game (I make games, I would know)
I do think of the Elders as interdimensional travelers, hence why they have their own pocket dimensions and can be seen in Orbit. They likely used to be able to traverse the Sky world but something cut them off
fun fact their statues are referred to in patch notes as husks
oooooh funky, a husk of their former power
I wonder if the music has lore. Have we tried getting lore from music?
Thought the petrified spirits were referred to ask husks, not the Elder statues
My HC is that both orbit and the pocket dimensions exist in the same plane, it's like a sort of dream/mind realm
My theory is that the Elders either banished themselves to it...
OR!
that they are confined to that alternate realm because, much like the ancestors, they're sort of dead, but as we already know death doesn't work the same for all light creatures
oh yeah I missed that we were talking about the elders. whoops
I'd like to think that skykids are the purest fragments of the king and his former power
Since light can refract into countless colours, maybe that could be why there are so many skykids? We are all refracted light, light from the king?
This is what I believe too, the skids are fragments of the King, and that's why the King has "an active role in the story of Sky"
I thought the King was part of the storm in Eden
Although they can’t coexist, both theories have evidence and are valid.
