I mean, I know it’s a joke, but the consequence is that TGC staff might drop into lore chat, give us red herring lore, and leave while we dissect their words until nothing is left.
Explodes thats too big brain for me
Ty for the help btw
im gonna go do dailies and work on that thing now byebye!
Big brained take: not even the dev statements should stop you from doing whatever with sky lore. Go wild. Headcanon Rallying Thrillseeker as gay. Do crimes.
Headcanon??? Rallying thrillseeker is literally the Days of Rainbow guide its already canon

You dropped this 👑
oh boy talking about the vault again aren't we
Hatsune miku canon in sky lore (it’s what the skykids listen to on their headphones)
King absorbing everything with a gender they can find in a vain effort to stop the genderapocakypse
if anyone still around for me to drop something i just thought about vault being projection:
those multiple smaller lanterns that we lit up makes the projections "dreamlike" because it's the combination of many minds. It's what probably makes thing go crazy go wild
OH THATS SUCH A NEAT IDEA what if. all the book lanterns you can see on level 2 contribute to it as well
wait i thought granny was the king? huh?
this will be combined with my theory (or, "headcanon") that with the rise of vault level, we get to access even more "forbidden" knowledge. Things form common knowledge (such as praire-isle) to basically war and vault is getting higher and higher. Whoever can meditate the longest can reach "HQ" which is the island above.
And of course we know like, spirits can't meditate as well as skids if i remember correctly. Only the "wisest" or enlightened can do it
Hot take: Vault is real, but each floor distorts your mind to believe it’s a dream.
atheist skykid speaking
This is the reason why the king wears a mask and got very tall suddenly and out of nowhere. Granny killed and replaced them and has been controlling the entire realm in order to force the concept of gender on everyone. No one knows this but granny, and the king who is being unrightfully punished for her crimes
Granny’s the king, Hatsune Mimi’s the king, the child of prophecy is the king, you’re the king! Are there any other king’s I should know about???
I am the king, i'm reinforcing gender currency and furry forest elder
This is a really neat theory! My only counterpoint to it is (I believe) the archives near the purple light area are supposed to be hidden and mostly off limits, and they’re on the first floor
maybe it's a forbidden knowledge but still like accessible to public if they ask nicely to the vault people? Example how to create theoretical darkstone bombs or research papers. They gotta have special safekeepings for it, probably for education purposes
I love this headcanon and it gave me the mental image of a skykid begging a spirit to teach them how to make darkstone bombs, which I also love
"Pleaaaasee elder! Can I access the off-limits area?"
"You're still butterfly-grade! Why would you need papers for making darkstone bombs?"
"...research"
first a skykid gotta know what a bomb is. also forbidden knowledge in the Vault. good thing they can't read.
they're aware with colloseum fireworks, it wouldn't be far fetched if they knew about rockets and big booms
all they know is that big booms cause bright color light, not destruction
Cannoneer, in spite of all the scholars in vault, managed to@meditate to the highest layer.
Through sheer will alone, they managed to get to the top to find out how to invent their harpoon gun.
“Okay… hear me out, what if we put fireworks inside a small container that you could throw in a specific direction to make them go where you wanted”
[spirit sweating nervously]
I had to edit that because it was a typo and they are not allowed to curse around the children
Actually false. Cannoneer was mysteriously born with knowledge of how to create and use harpoon gun. Instead, they got all the way to the top and is now the reason why the wasteland elder throne is cracked
How foolish of me, this is the correct canon lore.
when you see a great opportunity for a joke but you know you'll get mega beaned for it
Cannonneer literally took over GW and by sheer will alone they have become the new king
Submit joke into beaning machine.
Always though
Vault was really lame for something thats supposed to be a dream!
jk im team hologram
But really, even if its memories instead, seeing real historic moments clash with each other and get mixed together due to their projections all going off at once.....well thats an idea I can drift off too....
but also sounds like a landscape engineers nightmare
I’m still of the mind that Vault exists to record the memories of Ancestors and Skykids who were about to be reborn. The elevator projects the memories of each individual for them to see, and once they reach the top the ascend to orbit via Eden to be reborn, and their memories are stored in vault.
Yeah its a memory library. Thats what it was supposed to be conceptually
Vault is full of memory cubes
A memory library actually working as a memory library in game would have been so cool
The best part? The Cannoneer’s memories are somewhere in Vault.
Beginning to wonder if the storage and protection of memories in vault is at all an explanation for the existence of spirit memories
NEURON ACTIVATION
If memory cubes are hidden in every realm somewhere oob
The alternative, that memory cubes use soul based technology sounds kinda cool but potentially morbid too
I actually hold a theory that spirit memories are analogous to winged light. if winged light is the manifestation of skykids' imprint on the Sky world, then could spirit memories be the manifestation of the ancestors' imprint on the Sky world? so they're not necessarily the spirits' memories but rather the Sky world's memories of the ancestors.
Stuff that the spirit did not see appears in memories, so that checks out.
Like angler n the krilly
Okay, so get this. Darkstone absorbs light. Memory cubes are made of darkstone.
Spirits store memory as light. When their bodies turned to darkstone, they became body-shaped memory cubes.
But I could make a likely reason against it too.
Since Lightminers graves keep moving
they're also in third person. our memories are in first-person unless they've been reconstructed don't get me started on the physiology of memories it's too much and too late at night
Could it be I ran out? Well.
Its not that deep
:]
Your sin is unforgivable.
so ancestor bodies become darkstone like dinosaurs millions-year-old algae become oil?
So here’s the answer to that: spirits absorb light as memory, so their memories are 3D. Their bodies literally remember because it’s akin to darkstone.
powering your civilization with ages-old corpses
Isn’t … isn’t that what we do
Edit I am late to mentioning this lol
Exactly. Where do you think the GW sludge came from?
They don’t need oil since they use light as energy.
good question
I should be sleeping but I just had this thought; the gratitude troupe may not celebrate new year like we do, but perhaps their job is to spread good luck and blessings, maybe they are hired to perform in some rituals (such as renewal ones like new cycles and spring equinoxes, or perhaps a change like weddings).
This is more a headcanon than a theory but perhaps the animal masks are all of different species (instead of birds like in Rythm) because they specialize in different types of rituals/good luck things, whatever.
Got a few crumbs from the names alone, Saluting Protector, which visited us recently, could have been hired for protection charms for example.
Greeting Shaman and Stretching Guru are less obvious, and I have no idea what the "drifter" in Sassy Drifter means.
their fireworks do not give me wax, so they are doing their job wrong
but I agree with your headcanon
They aren't pyrotechnicians !
The drifter part could be explained by — if your theory is right, then they’d travel from place to place performing rituals, so boom! drifter
I wonder if they could also be actors, if they were hired for celebrations...
Imagine some dummy rich Valley ancestors hiring troupes to play during stuff like... idk, diplomatic dinners ?
Maybe the protector ended up in the Golden Wastelands because even in times of war, people need entertainment.
I’m thinking over this and trying to find stuff to add, and while I do that, have a mental image:
“We’re having important guests over tonight… send in the furries”
They probably didn't have TV or the radio, better than sitting in awkward silence.
a lot of meetings in ancient times irl did hire performers to liven up the party. Roman emperors renown for that
Ya'll I really wanna ask about big evil danger dude in SoA. But I also don't wanna know. Halp.
Season of Abyss
The difference I see between Rythm and Gratitude is that the former looks posh and probably operates on high end stuff given they have a director, actors, a juggler and even a musician, so they're the guys a noble would probably hire to liven up a party.
Meanwhile, I see the Gratitude troupe traveling from village to village for public celebrations like festivals, though individuals could ask them a blessing or two.
I say Rythm spirits are posh because they're dressed up all fancy in matching pants. I bet they had fans or something, just look at Admiring Actor.
See, that’s the fun part. It’s not late anymore, it’s early! /j
This is a really cute idea, I wonder if gratitude spirits all traveled together or were just kind of friends/colleagues. I imagine them traveling around a lot to try and get every job they can
Why is this icon used for almost everything in sky?
some say it's the the symbol for the Chosen One/prince/king. personally I think it's just a symbol representing all skykids
Well, performers are better in groups. Perhaps they are all together during festivities, but separate when they are looking for jobs off-season. Kinda like mall santas not being hired year-round.
It can be representing the prophets, or the elements. Maybe it's representing the power a skykid has. I don't know
It’s also the symbol for the Light when you deep call to know which direction the temple is in, keep in mind. (I remember someone’s? headcanon a while back about constellations determining what job the spirits would have or whatever which would certainly explain why those specific ones were chosen as prophets. I mean, you can’t beat being part of a constellation representing god)
i say skykids cos it shows up almost everywhere skykids are associated with. Chosen One was a skykid, who was maybe the prince/king. perhaps the
symbol specifically refers to them, but other alterations of it pertain to skykids specifically, like the 11th wing symbol
you also have an iteration of
literally being the prince's face in concept art
Honestly I think it started representing the light and just got used fo symbolize things sort of related to it later on. The kings mask has it to show importance or connection, same with the prophets, and so on
It would make sense to connect yourself with Megabird to solidify the reasoning behind why you were chosen, kind of like a divine right to rule in a universe where the ruler might have actually been chosen
What about
?
I think those function as navigational waypoints. kinda just directional things
that symbol resembles concept art Megabird
It resembles Megabird in a really abstract way but I think the main inspiration is just direction pointers, although it does fit with fhe season lore that it can be interpreted as both :]
Goodnight brothers
I have the urge to design some sort of symbol or whatever for lore fanatics.
not quite sure where exactly this question should go, but it doesn’t quite fit into any of the other channels
does anyone know the lyrics for the end credits song? I feel like it may be japanese, I hear things like "sora" and "nikkou", meaning "sky" and "sunlight", kinda leading me to believe that it's not just nonsense sounds that happen to sound like japanese, but that actually might have meaning, as those words seem relevant
I don't know if that acronym can work... There was a Seaon of Assembly too
This server is too little for two SoAs
Don’t forget season of ahythm
I’ll see myself out
This inside joke...joy
No one expected this one... Nobody!
||And nobody can get it out
||
I heard that it's sung in the game's own language! Maybe it's inspired by Japanese? :o
That could be a nice touch, but If I Recall Correctly we don't have any concrete proof (by questioning devs now and then) about those lyrics
It would be really nice if we could ask Vincent Diamante or any other from the music department

I'll try to listen it closely next time (maybe it could be just full similar words from different languages
)
If I recall correctly, the song does not have any lyrics. Or the lyrics do not have a meaning at least.
Should I look up the source to be sure?
Before I forget, the other day an user uploaded in #screenshots-and-videos some of their Light Awaits memories and among their LA capes pattern ( 🇹 🇬 🇨 ,
) there was a video about Isle elder sending us to Prairie on a boat (hip hip Hurray for the Ferryman ♉)
So I spotted a lighted thing on those docks that reminds me of the object the Talended Builder put on the front of the boat!
Zoomed in
That's so cool! It does sound japanese- ish, and the game is full of japanese players lol
Please do, Smilez!!! It would be really cool!

Plus... There was a Whale Tail
right on rhe arriving of Aviary (did I say Prairie before? Maybe it was Aviary instead, idk 😅 )
Ok, that was the whale/big fish in the video.
Interestingly, there used to be a light dragon/eel (nicknames, I dont know the official name) before the whale was added.
The dawn realm did change a few times during development in Light Awaits.
Also, there are some other videos scattered on the internet, such as YouTube.
I wish there was a way to experience the old version in some way, aside from the videos (which I am grateful for).
Oo... LA had the most brilliant OOB glitch back then (I think around the Winter Season, first time "Rhythm" arrived) 🧡 💙 🔲 🔳
The cutscene that inspired me the theory Twins Made The Whirpool entering GW, to keep the darkness drained in there
Oooh! The open fins of the mantas existed back then too!
I gotta say the old cutscenes looked great.
I wonder what made them change them?
Was it because the stage was not meant to rise, or the elders were not meant to light up that much?
Not that there is much wrong with the current cutscene (aside from the blasted bug of the skykids not standing on the ground correctly), it is playful and competitive.
Though it did not really explain why did the elders smacked the flame into the air like that.
Technical issues.
Almost everything that changed in Sky from beta was because of technicalities. A few may have been changes due to make it fit the lore better or the lore has changed (the latter only possible if referring to beta before launch).
agreed. the cape pattern was supposedly another issue for certain devices.
I do wish the pattern could have been a reward for completing all of the elder constellations.
i wonder what is the relevance for only the GW Elder grave being cracked
It was a reference to the dark creatures attacking the temple, and the elder tried to protect it (or the skykids at least).
There was concept art that showed the elder was once considered to have become partially corrupted from fighting the darkness.
in a meta sense, ye, but why would it be cracked alone in Eden/Vault?
I noticed something actually about the GW elder and some context clues from the Battlefield area if you wanna hear
it may explain the cracks
please do, soiok. i'm always ready to learn more lore
^ Same by me. I'm bloated after cny fest and i gotta have some good lore
While I was running GW I got curious about discarded artillery, the shields. So I decided to get a good look at them. First is the shield near the entrance to Battlefield from Graveyard. Why would there be a spear through a shield unless there was conflict? Looking closer, there are two distinct shield types.
The first one is circular, with a sun emblem on it. With all our sky knowledge we can connect the sun to the light, the stars, thus forth Megabird or at least the side of this conflict that has to do with the light.
Additionally, the split Shield is the furthest from the temple, meaning the bearers of these shields came from the outside.
The second variant resembles the European Heater Shield shape from around the 14th century, with a diamond shape emblem on it. That same emblem appears all over the first wall of defense broken down, the Fort that the large plant in Battlefield is encased in. We can associate Diamonds with the technology of the ancestors and in a more deeper perspective, the King due to the presence of his symbol in this area.
We can assume that the GW elder must have been close to the king in terms of official relations, he governs the Fort that protects the Vault of Knowledge and the entrance to Eden. I'm going to make a guess the reason his grave is cracked is because the GW elder is a Traitor. The Shield found on his gravestone is a sun emblem Shield.
Images for comparison and proof
forgor this one but here's the diamond emblem on the Fort wall
TLDR possible ancestor rebellion lead by GW Elder
Ah, that, we call it the "Two Shields Theory". Personally I think it creates a far too complicated theory for something that has a simpler answer: they had multiple shield types.
The GW Elder is shown using the Heater Shield in the Vault of Knowledge mural and in the constellation the symbol is also the Heater Shield + Spear.
Further, the GW Elder has the Diamond symbol on his clothing, while simultaneously using the Sun Shield.

possibly! But knowing the distinct symbolism on them I wouldn't chalk it up to just a variety of artillery
I chalked up the Traitor thing from only the shield thing so there isn't much ground other than "He did it all secretly and only showed his alliance last minute" with no real proof
I do like the perspective that it might be a more obvious answer, and honestly considering how little ground I had other than "this shield is cracked 🤨" that just may be it

granted, there are other things that do go in for the civil war view. let me grab some potential "evidence" of it.

different colors really do imply two distinct groups
another thing against though, is how the entrance to the Vault is controlled by a simple crystal that any ancestor likely would be able to activate.
like this massive gate but the switch to open it is right in front of it.
||I'm saying this is "against", but it can also work as a "pro", although it confuse the battlefield a bit. the idea is that all of the GW walls and gates are to keep whatever is at the Vault /Eden locked, not the other way around||
could you link me to where you got that? I wanna see what other stuff they've got
Considering the open-interpretationness of sky's lore it's heavily reliant on symbolism, colours, etc
Oh right, I remembered the other thing!
the Catapults.
That's great that today's discussion is gw, I happened to have some interesting pictures I just took of the temple building. I'll post them in a bit
It's from Reika (you can see her in the staff list on the right heh) work: https://ryoshino.artstation.com/projects/N5Yb4d
thank u thank u
do you have photos of the eden catapult(s)?
also just want to note the soldier with a sword through them and the colour, of it
referencing the sheet above
sadly I don't, neither have I ever seen it LOL!
but I think Ash (Concept Artist) mentioned it, let me get her message. Maybe it was a joke that I misunderstood.

I misunderstood it.
But this is a worthwhile read!
This is the catapult from gw right?
Here are some of the pictures I took in gw today. I'm pretty convinced the big statues at the top of the temple were used as cannons based on the barrel in their chests. They're also powered by a crystal in the head of the king statues, and are connected to several pipes.
It's worth noting that only the three big statues at the temple roof seem to have the canon barrels, while the smaller statues on the ground lack them
first things first... 177 candles
After forging them I now have 195 lol. I've been trying to save up for a while
ah the cannon
here’s something interesting—at the top of valley coliseum, there’s this little hole?dent?thing that is the same shape and maybe size of the cannon but with nothing sticking out per my memory
I’ll head back for more pictures if any of you need them
In my mund each Elders has their way to let some souls/flames ascend
Isle gets shapes back and give Birds a path
Prairie help a soul into the shape of a butterflies and free all those butterflies
Forest uses a big rhombus/diamond to repair it and let that flame ascend like this
Valley has still enough energy to yeet them pretty straight forward
Wasteland got strength back (and I think there is a beam upwards with the spear)
Vault has a working rhombus/diamond and show you how to use it
After all each Elders create a connection back to their constellation / Orbit
Any idea about the whereabout of the mantas we freed?
#screenshots-and-videos message
Can they be spotted in OOB?
I had a DREAM about the freaking Big Devil Boy™️
the who
@boreal nebula drawing comparisons to IRL art, etc. can be a fascinating source of inspiration and theory, but art from all sources will still need to match this server's requirements of at least as much clothing as the characters wear in-game. This excludes a lot of inoffensive material, but is one of the only ways we can enforce a standard that keeps all content safe here
If you name a painter/painting then you can leave it to others to research if they choose to, and cropped portions may also be acceptable
Now I'm curious to what it was
by the way, @livid crypt . I will take the opportunity to mention this.
There is an impersonator of yours trying to advertise some services in Discord.
I received a friend request / DM from them.
maybe TGC might want to take legal action against the advertised service...

I sometimes see parallels between Art and Sky, like the fact we tilt the head to watch WL during collection, the golden sparkles reminds me of one famous painting about Danae and Zeus by Tiziano Vecellio, 1531 , when Zeus transfigured himself as Gold Rain (one of Zeus' many transfigurations 😅 )
it never occured me, but in Eden it is an Eclipse
there is a shinning light behind the moon
I suppose that is the glowing of Eden / Orbit
Like In Isle, of you take off from the ground on the right side of the map and try to reach the top of the "butterfly island" you can see the glowing of the WL inside the tunnel
Yup, that's an eclipse ^^
Sadly we don't know much more than that, or we could tell if the eclipse is in its beginning stages or its ending stages.
Like, if it were at its full, that definitely looks like a total solar eclipse. Metaphorically, darkness conquering light.
But if it's waning, then it's kind of like a metaphor for the light starting to make a comeback, slowly fighting back, making the darkness retreat.
This pathway looks like the spirits giving us our winted light in orbit
Its its sometjing someone build after they got ascended maybe
How is there no good youtube video about the eden cataclysm?
Big fan of this metaphor btw
mind if I ask you elaborate a bit?
Which eden cataclysm?
Hello lore chat! One thing i wanted to point out that i have discovered today! In crab fields, i noticed....there's a chance it could've used to be a boating dock or something? also i noticed the big wall, part of it, has what looks like either a huge gate, or a bridge...it makes me wonder if this area was actually a boating dock, the water possibly being higher? :o
I'm going to go investigate it more now, and report my findings! (apologies if i went off topic to whichever lore y'all are on! carry on!)
I had a similar idea in the works.
It does look like the docks may have had more water, which is where a waterborne boat would dock. Which is rare considering most ships can fly, expect for the one in the crab field (previously nicknamed as Shipwreck).
Oh that could explain the lower pipes
Looking closer at the gate, unsure if it's actually a gate cause it would have a splitting part in the middle, not seeing one though! so perps it could've been a bridge? it's a little difficult to tell when it's near pitch black lol
Well the theory is that something happend in eden which could be an error with diamond in the middle
also the 3 buildings/structures in the far distance in crab fields...i wanna explore those so badly x_x
also noticed on one of them...i saw a flashing light, which looks like the circle like you would sit in to activate something...i actually saw this in sanctuary islands too
Can’t believe I was asleep while everyone was talking about spears and catapults /hj
Side note I do wonder where the bluish tint on the diamond shields and swords comes from. I’m pretty sure the shields, spearheads, and blades at least are still some kind of stone just given on how the cracks look and their color/texture in general (although this could be wrong) and as far as I remember, the lighter color stone is pretty common in architecture and whatnot, but I don’t remember seeing the bluish kind anywhere. The only stone colors I’ve noticed is the light gray on the sun shield and a much darker, almost black gray tone
I'm going to start writing Sky fanfic, using the lore I know
How long should each chapter be? Asking more along the lines of, how long would an attention span last for the fanfiction of someone else? 1 minute?
It depends on the theme you are going for.
I swear it is not edgy, but: Void: Children of the Dark LOL
I will try and explore other lifeforms that might develop, like intelligent Dark life
ok.
How about this. We can dm each other, if you like.
I know about a group that also does fanfics, as well as another group that is interested in the lore of Sky.
That almost reminds me of an ongoing fantasy project I have, (world based off the layers of the ocean) I am now interested to read and see what overlaps with the lowest levels of mine
When i first started playing sky i was confused as to why there were suddenky pipes and other rather modern structures, like in eden these steel thingies you walk on to. It looks like some sort of factory-like thing? I dont know when i started playing i thought maybe it takes place in iur world somehow
The original designs for the statues in the concepts were there to function as defensive sentinels. It is likely the original function is there, but deactivated.
chapters can be as long or as short as you want it to be – it's your fic, it's your call. I usually just depend on the feel. if the chapter feels done, it's done.
though one way to do it is to consider chapters short stories within the larger story. end the chapter on a relevation or a cliffhanger or a resolution
In the time before time, void was all there was. But all things change, and much like an egg void cracked, revealing light. The Megabird was born of void, and in its vain grandeur it filled the expanses of the universe with its glory.
Void too felt this, and was given shale and thought for the first time. And it’s first thought was fear, as light filled all that was and burned it’s delicate form. It retreated, fleeing from the blazing triumph of the Megabird,
Farther and farther it fell, to deep and dark crevasses, where it nursed it wounds and nurtured its fear into anger and resentment. When the child of light was born, Void too birthed a child, one of darkness so concentrated no light would ever seat it again.
The child of Void lies in wait, growing and biding it’s time in a womb of darkness, waiting to rise up and claim it’s throne once again.
something something Hollow Knight
basically this LMAO
Hollow Knight is about aborted babies dipped in tar.
tbh there's some strong Hollow Knight vibes from Sky in general
or does Hollow Knight have Sky vibes
Sky has vibes
You’re missing the point. Both are the Dark Souls of their genre
I thought megaman was the dark souls of platformers
Vibes: Chillin’ in the Light.
nah that's Celeste
Have you played Megaman
Hollow Knight is the Super Mario of the Dark Souls of Playformers.
have you play Celeste?
Because I have played celeste and it does not even compare to megaman in the amount of absolute agony that it gave me.
I am going to settle this argument right now: Battletoads.
fair enough
I will say that that is a dope premise nonetheless
This is the plot to Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Just replaced child of void with Shadow, Void with Gerald Robot nik, sonic with Child of Light, and the Abyss with Space Ark.
The polluted geyser actually reminds me of the Gulf of Mexico where oil just naturally seeps out of the ocean floor
And great big tar balls wash up on the shore
Best game ever
It looks like we’re rivals now /j (It depends on where you’re posting the fanfiction to.)
Youtube lmao
because it makes it easier for people to consume it.
I will just have the text appear on screen with a voice reading it
Welp…. DnD (dungeons and dragons) is basically cannon in sky technically
elders dnd campaigns
Daylight and DarkDragons
Twins would be elf rouges I can just feel it in my bones💀👍
But Now I’m thinking what games are cannon in sky world? Like do all games exist but under a different name? Like chess or something
Omg Sky Uno
and ayin is the bard
Isle Elder doesn't understand the rulebook like a boomer
no,no no no twins would be bards
SKY UNO IMAGINE SPIRITS PLAYING IT ON THE GROUND AND JUST LIKE RAGING
Rouge bard mix?
I’m not to familiar with dnd so idk if multi class is a thing
Isle Eder would be a wizard
im pretty sure you can be two classes, iirc
Twins would +4 each other and everyone and also hide cards so they can win 💀
I feel like daleth would be the boomer but more like "I played the 1st edition and we didnt have any of this you youngins doesn't know what suffering is"
Vault Elder doesn't actually like to play DnD, but they just tag along to spend time with their friends.
Vault just watches from the sidelines
omg vault elder the DM
I feel like vault would be a great story teller soo
so it is, Vault Elder DMs
I wish Vault Elder DM'd me
I was waiting for someone to say that
Are TS Hints supposed to be canon? If so, then the entire lore flips on its head
It isn't lol. Ash said so eventually
Sometimes Ash says they’re canon, sometimes they’re not
They’re canon for alternate universes if that makes sense
Like they don’t have DND in their world but if they did they would totally be a cleric
No matter how clean the water is or with the presence of two light algae the crabs aren't peaceful and with dark spores on
why so many people have horns? where are they from?
Pay an exorbitant amount of money for them in Christmas! You have to wait another 10 months (I think)
Yeah, theese are Antlers from Days Of Feasts, the first horns introduced during December 2020 (and returned last Christmas too)
There are also Withered Antlers from Days of Mischief 2021 (Halloween). And both are IAPs (In App Purchases 💸 )
If we are lucky soon Yeti could return with his (little) horns (1,5 actually, one is broken) and their wondeful furr (which turns maskless eyebrows into white) ||I really wish everyone could afford this fascion, cause I feel there should be more free/advailable customizations in Sky
So I don't care if someone could lose their unique fabulous look||
I dont understand how this match with Earth Prophet as next TS
Maybe Sun could be a clue for Isle of Dawn
They’re an early riser
Welll... yeah, but this could suit almost anyone
Maybe.. just maybe, if said "TS always wakes up with the night" would be a nice hint for Bat / Air Prophet
Maybe the sun could be a sign of Isle of Dawn
Earth prophet second best spirit in the game
Me, who can't be up before 10am:
Mood
If I didn't read the #news first I would have thought of Yeti... He must have best morning view
While others inside a cave.. shouldn't even see the sun
Could be that they never wake up. Since, to the spirits inside the cave, the sun doesn't really rise into view
The cave has that big ol hole in it tho!
That’s something I’ve always disliked about MMOs. Someone has to stand out with their “unique look”.
Artificial rarity just hurts a community and encourages unsubstantiated superiority.
One day, @pastel brook, I will find you. On that day, through the scores of deities you worship and demons you summon, come heck or high water, I will erase you from the annals of history.
Not even a smudge mark of any mention of you on any page of any book, web forum, or the like, will be left.
Anyway, my comment was moths vs veterans, but censor any of the fluffy words I could have used instead, censor.
Enjoy your power while it lasts.
Moth skykids are literally peak chatacter design. I look at one and want to hold their hand and buy them a popsicle
Moth Skykid with 100+ WL is peak chad energy
TGC
can you please give us names and function of these ?

thatdoodlebot? More like thatdoodoobot hahaha.
I’m deeply sorry.
I noticed that some of them have engravings, but some do not.
You know, I’ve noticed that crabs tend to be near these golden containers. GW has a lot of these, and there’s and infestation of crabs.
This area also has crabs in it, and if you look at the crab murals in Forgotten Ark show that these vases were put into a cave, and crabs come out.
Do you think they hold crabs, or something that turns into crabs?
Yes that could be. I assume their primary role was as forms for the diamonds things.
Diamonds and crabs share similar textures. Light is power, and is used in the creation of life.
Do old, unused diamonds turn into living crabs?
I also suspect that crabs are a byproduct of ancestor tech
That’s what I call teamwork. As always, the real lore is the friends we made along the way.
We shall call this the Lazuli Underhill crab theory. Patent the paper, ship it.
Ah, do I love the Prophet themes. They’re ancient and melancholic, but Earth Prophet is somewhat lighthearted. I advise you to check them out!
I feel bad, since I haven’t completed Earth trial legitimately for a while now.
Speaking of which, I feel like there’s a leitmotif that’s shared between all the trial themes
https://youtu.be/EoduV7E_Rck at 8:40, 14:24, 22:42, and especially 27:15
There’s 2 long notes, then a brief pause, then 3 long notes. It’s interesting to see leitmotifs in such places!
You seem more like a Season of Prophecy Stan than a Season of Prince Stan.
That was my original name, before Prince came out… actually yeah, I’ll change it
Oh, I didn’t mean to imply anything. You don’t have to change it on my account, if that was your reasoning.
If not, by all means.
It’s strange to see lore vets like zippy, jan, and chesca go… but it’s inspiring to see a new generation of lore moffs become experts at this game’s lore.
Who is Jan?
i think i connected the dots
Oh wow that’s cool!
ACTUALLY THOUGH!
that's so interesting
and a nice parallel to the light being collected and put into the pots, then turning into butterflies
Momentarily misread days of love as days of lore and freaked out before realizing 😔
It’s ok 😔
Petition to make Days of Lore a thing
Also, how do you wake up that early???
10am is early???
they do have an interview with gratitude guide but the line about the boat IAP is sending me
i did not know that this channel existed
it is my new home

Hello!
simple! funny magic stone (which i call a darkstone)
and funny air vase thingimabob
This one?
this:
"Their eyes glittered when they heard that a new item coming to the in-game shop during the event will allow a player and their friend to chat while drifting gently across the water:"
in-game shop canon ???
Side note about the crabs because someone mentioned them earlier: the existence of non aggressive crabs in sanctuary and the fact that you can see the darkness flakes? on them as if they’re not a part of their original body implies that there was once normal crabs but most of them got corrupted somehow. (My logic here is that if they were corrupted naturally the darkness would already be inherent to them and not look like an add on)
Unless real money exists in Sky then I don’t think so
If in game shop is canon, is there a feature that allows conversion from irl money to spirit money and if so, what is the conversion ratio
HELP

That makes sense
Wait what if we can tell the conversion ratio by seeing how much the candle packs cost. Then we can do math and figure out how much buying a spirit cape would cost in irl money
Which irl currency are you talking about tho?
We can technically do the math for every currency we can think of. (This is just a suggestion, because the idea of actually doing said math is giving me a headache)
We can use a calculator
So uhhh is anyone here good at Math
To be honest it would be more of a joke calculation than anything canon, so I’m reluctant to put in that much effort for it
just see the price in dollar and do the conversion, no?
You would still have to do the math to convert it to other currencies, which can take a while depending on how many you want to add, and on a basic level choose which money -> candle conversion you’d base it off of because they’re probably cheaper per candle to buy in bulk.
Also keep in mind we still don’t know what spirit currency actually was genders are not a valid answer so the answer(s) wouldn’t have much functional use
What if we just pretended it was candles
I was about to say that the spirits could've used candles or wax as currency since that's what they ask from skykids aside from hearts (which they charge you in candles for)
That could just be a gameplay mechanic but it is possible
I mean, yeah it probably is just gameplay but it's not impossible
so what are those weird constellation drawings found on the floor of certain locations?
Omgf want is that
Where
they are basically everywhere, I just can't find pictures, but you can see it after the line of pikes.
it is the stone ground. it has a constellation drawn on it
Oh that one, maybe they’re for rituals or something ¯_(ツ)_/¯
https://youtu.be/4w4XgRftthQ here’s an example. However, it can be found in all the trials.
or just ask people in other countries, i can tell you a pack of 15 is 4.99 euros !
these are remnants from light awaits; this one in particular would trigger an eel "memory" that made you catch light and rewarded you with a candle !
ah that makes so much more sense. thanks, candle!
Daylight Prairie Temple has the bluish stone
hey does anyone know about the buildings in treasure reef (specifically the ones underwater)?
The murals depict some kind of factory
just realized the trials in the cave of prophecy exist to prepare you for the eye of eden
Oh? 👀
what interview where i would like to see it
thank you
Odd realization: this guy is the only spirit in the first two realms with a full face mask and also the first chronological appearance of the diamond-within-diamond symbol (the next spot I remember it being is in Forest temple as a small sign before the altar. Probably refers to the diamond holes in ships)
Wait a minute hold on
fabulous hair, salem.
but i thought they all used the diamond symbol
I am referring to the diamond within a diamond on their forehead and not the outer diamond by itself on their chest, if that makes sense
One has a smaller diamond inside but the other is empty. I tried to get a better picture of the inset diamond symbol here but the camera won’t turn much in spirit menus & if you force it to turn it just sends the spirit back up
I went to check, Rejecting Voyager also count, right
The King features this diamond-within-a-diamond motif frequently as well.
Also, in case anyone missed it: power diamonds turn into crabs if left alone long enough.
Somehow managed to miss their full face mask because they have another on top of it + the only way you can tell it’s there is because it’s paler than the other spirits’ faces. Interestingly, on the mask above the full one there’s also a diamond symbol in the middle of the forehead, although it’s smaller and not as obvious
I'm so dumb! I just realized Rejecting Voyager's headset is representative of a ship and not just horns lmao!
Yep! It’s also really common in latticework in the last three realms, but it’s much harder to find in the first two (can’t remember off the top of my head how common it is in forest, but I think it’s also hard to find. Probably just due to the area seemingly being used for industrial purposes so decorating it isn’t a huge concern)
The diamond here is probably just meant to show the diamonds inset into boats, although it’s weird that the bell maker doesn’t have that same boat shape but still has the diamond
From the wiki
Yeah you can just BARELY see the tiny dot in the middle thats supposed to be the inset diamond on their mask
So we know Ancestors had weak telepathic powers.
Perhaps charged Diamonds acted as focal points to amplify this? They might have used them to lift heavy things and to augment their strength for more demanding activities.
It would explain the forehead placement of the inlaid Diamond.
Interestingly enough, iirc prairie is where we start to see the very first signs of darkstone tech that we can use (I believe you have to light a double darkstone door to access a spirit)
Would definitely explain how the heavy stone boats managed to stay off the ground, I wonder if the issues started to arise when they tried to use other methods of powering it in order to lift heavier stuff instead of just using their minds
Found where the lore bible is. Anyone want to pick it up?
Side note, went to check the levitation theory and noticed that
spirit has a very obvious forehead diamond on their headpiece (I’m not really sure you can call it a mask anymore) while
spirit doesn’t have one at all
mask = forehead crystal?
That same spirit shows multiple Ancestors lifting a memory cube.
Darkstone could be very dense, or is volatile to the touch when charged (like a normal battery).
Second minor interesting thing I noticed was that the River of birds the isle elder makes for you gets sucked down into the wasteland whirlwind and you don’t see it again until the main entrance to the battlefield, where their shapes have changed from resembling a bird to much smaller … blobs? of light. You don’t see it at all after that
That might just be graphical optimization. The same birds appear again in Eden, back to full size.
Oh my god just noticed the sweat wiping guy has a pot shaped mask (with a diamond on it although that part is less of a revelation)
Where do they appear? When you’re flying to orbit? Because if it’s there only than that doesn’t prove much (considering you’re… well… dead and all)
oh my god they do! LMAO
boat and pot!
In the area before PNR. They’re pretty high up, but I’ve exploited that area of Eden enough times that I regularly pass by them.
The Forest guy has a Crystal shaped mask
boat, pot, crystal
We might be talking about the same thing, but
I’ll get some@pictures of the birds. Give me a bit of time.
I love how Forest Elder is the Chibi Elder too
that actually makes a lot of sense! Extracted light, given a corporeal form until it manifests. How interesting
It would be cool if it was supposed to be horns tho
Thank you for doing this!! I have never noticed the birds before
Also the idea of exploiting through eden to reach the end faster is hilarious and I don’t know why
you ever shaved half an hour off of an eden trip by oobing? Fun stuff
That method is so useful
It’s always fun to phase through a wall
“Man, this trip to dying and getting reborn is dragging on a bit. Maybe I should break the laws of physics to speed it up”
I don’t think you can OOB on Switch the same way
Lol
although both are using masks
all vanilla spirits so we can compare stuff if needed to
nvm what I said LMAO
i mistaken the beard for a mask
The two masked spirits in valley kind of remind me of the valley constellation although it isn’t a perfect comparison, probably because the actual shape would be really hard to actually make into a mask and not cover up everything
The wasteland mask that covers most of the face reminds me of the stone part that the giant coelacanth/whale/whatever people are calling it these days had on its face
You can. I’m on Switch, and the walls are as much a suggestion there as they are on mobile.
I’m trying to figure out what creature the smaller mask resembles most closely but I’m drawing a blank. Closest thing I can think of is the blind horned mantas from sanctuary but I don’t think that’s quite right
So all the talk of diamonds has me thinking: where are the spirits bearing the mark of the star?
The only place we find this are relating to the king, the skykids, and some shields.
All the spirits have the Diamond on their clothing and masks.
Also now that I’m looking at it the dreadlocks hairstyle makes it look like the spirit has cat ears
it is also all throughout Daylight Prairie decks
Golden Waste-Nyan
Hidd-nyan Forest.
Quick distinction:
Symbol of the light: diamond outside, this is the prophecy constellation symbol and you see it whenever you deep call
?? Symbol - might represent small lights laughing lightcatcher is gathering in spirit memory, or the sun. Pictured above and is present on prairie docks as well as the shields
It’s also shown in the intro animatic.
My boomer mind is confused by these emojis.
I’m trying to say “which one” (because, get it, sandwich)
it also appears in murals
Ah. Let me link it: https://youtu.be/VXnhn-s7UBw
YEAHH I believe an isle mural has them in boats carrying them back up to the temple
Yes yes
Might be a prophecy mural as well.
Prophecy child of light also displays this symbol very prominently when the child completes the trials.
You know the one, mural master.
I wonder if the circle variant is just a stylized version of the diamond variant, since iirc the diamond variant isn’t in any murals and it would be easier to draw
there is a very ominous message by Ash that haunts my every possible thought for the King which is, when she said the King is important to the lore and his actions influence the world, but not in the way we think.
It made me consider the Lapis theory once in which we were a fragment of the King. Etc.
And now, after rewatching the Intro, there is a very important quote: "If only they had listened" to whom?? ||the King||
That’s my thinking, too. You can’t really make floating statues, which you think would be possible in Sky
The central figure of the animatic is shown to unite the Elders, presumably in Orbit.
The King is Sky-Jesus LOL
"God Incarnate" that was killed by humans.
Ash message forces me to always try to think out of the norm of: "King bad"
inb4 the King is the mountain
this is also what made me consider Vault Elder = King too.
but Ash kinda denies that possibility with that message.
but Vault Elder's grave reflects the same position the Elders had around the King in orbit
Judging by the phrasing, the answer isn’t obvious, so I think we should tackle this question by listing every possible answer. I’ll begin
- they are right behind us at all times watching us and teleports away when we turn to look
- all the spirits are actually the king but in different masks which is why they are all the same height
They don’t look that similar tho
I mean this.
the Elder graves are also positioned in the same way around the Vault grave
They have the same height? wow
Ohhh
The King is the player
oh my god thanks to ash’s message it all makes sense
Wait like, us or the skykid
us, the humans outside the game lol
listen I need to wait for this video to render but once it’s finished I’ll type it all up. Chances are this is highly wrong but hey, it might be right.
Judging by the intro cutscene the circle / sun either represents spirits or elders (I’ve suspected the first one for ages but circumstantial evidence at best) and also I think it’s interesting how the kid (us? the king?) stays behind when all the other stars fall
So, further justification for the player sky kid being the King. The intro cinematic tells us that "when we were united, our light was infinite". What happens when we unite all the elders?
the game wasn't available on the switch and my phone can't run it, that's why i stayed behind
I am a big fan and a believer of the theory that we’re the king, but I’m doing my best not to be biased in that direction when I analyze evidence which is why it isn’t the first thing I mentioned)
I remember seeing an image of a Sky kid falling from Eden Crystal
in a mural... or in a dream LOL
||I don't know what reality is anymore||
It was probably a dream
video is done rendering, time to get typing
The elders is Voltron
Y e s
Exactly this. We're made of light. We've united the light. Fantastic reference, by the way.
I'm starting to think that the Elders began squabbling among themselves about what is most important. They split to guide the Ancestors in their own way, and this disparity broke the light. The King decided to descend to the world in a physical form, to live among the Ancestors and guide them once again.
Only Isle Elder was true to the King, and raised him in his physical form. As the King grew, he found himself more engrossed in guiding the people, and grew more distant from the Elders. The King domineered over the Elders to compensate, commanding them to obey. Soon, unable to unit the light as he once did, the King resorted to desperate measures.
He tried to absorb the light, gathering it to himself via darkstone. This backfired, and the King was absorbed into the diamond, his body broken and light split.
The king was irreparably broken, but a bit of himself still remained in his descendants: the skykids, born from his light falling back to the world. He called to them, pleading that the do what he could not: unite the Elders and the Light.
the problem with that view is how ludo narratively the game would then agree with the elders then.
because it makes sense up until Eye of Eden: you are collecting other sky kids (Winged Lights) and becoming whole again (united).
but the game actually makes your skykid give individuality to the dead sky kids again, breaking into many pieces and keeping it that way.
Alright, with Ash's comment I couldn't help but once again try to piece together the puzzle of Sky.
Starting off with the Isle of Dawn, you see a child fall from the sky. This kid doesn't look too different from us, and is roughly the same height as our concepted prince. Coincidentally, he also happened to appear after the ancestors took their foothold in the kingdom of sky. This ties into a few of my other theories, providing a clearer explanation to them as well.
Who is the first sky child and what are the winged lights? With the evidence gathered I have no choice but to assume the first skykid was the Prince. The prince himself was extremely powerful, and I was thinking, may not have even been an ancestor, rather a
manifestation of the light itself.
I theorized a while ago that the imprints of the first skykid were the winged light that we see, which also means I have a clearer explanation now. The lights are places the Prince explored, and highlight possible emotions, be it happiness, wonder, disgust, curiosity, anxiety, etcetera. The explanation for the copious amount of imprints in eden may have been the light manifesting anxiety and preparing it's successors for the journey ahead. It may have known that if it failed in the Eye, that all would be lost until we arrived, so it set out a few extra imprints to ensure our success.
The light knew that the ancestors would not listen, and try to use the light they'd harvested. The elders knew about the failed experiments in the Abyssal laboratory, and needed more time, but desperate times called for desperate measures. The now King, in a last ditch effort to stop the calamity, threw the light into the gargantuan diamond, inadvertently setting it on a course to run indefinitely, causing what would have been just a catastrophic explosion to be the great storm.
The light was shattered. The remains of the kingdom torn to shreds and scattered along the wind. What ancestors survived the explosion and lived out their remaining days were eventually entombed by the darkness, left to their solitude until we, the successors to the first, arrived. One person cannot save everyone, but we are many, we are the light, and we will complete what the prince started oh so many years ago.
of course, all of that is probably wrong. Yeah, it uses stuff Ash has said in the past, but to be quite honest, I've been proven wrong time and time again. In the end, it doesn't matter.
The joy of lore building isn't being right. If we find the answer, there's nothing left to do. The joy of lore building is to keep building answers based on small factoids, finding new answers to our old questions.
It's okay to be wrong. That means you're doing the right thing.
The uniting part isn't the collecting of children of light. The uniting is the completion of the constellations and understanding the Elders. When we glow, it's after we've lost all our light. We glow because we reconcile with the last Elder; ourselves. We accept our mistake, our misguided attempts, and that allows us to complete the unification.
The giving away of the light is a part of this. We save the lost skykids of Eden because we are not the King. We're giving away parts of ourself to save others, just like the King gave himself away to guide the Ancestors.
I think I have a solid grasp on what my interpretation of the prestorm lore is and then I try to actually think through it and immediately realize no. I don’t. It’s all just vibes
@keen shore
Here’s the Eden Birds:
Hello I'm back in lorechat
Thank you!! It’s interesting that most of them are shapeless blobs but some are still vaguely bird shaped
Also hello fruit!!
Nice to meet you. I'm Lapis. Care to know anything about the lore today, or do you have anything to share?
Nah, not really.
You think next quest we'll finally beat Cannoneer at the hunt?
We try, but then they shoot us mid quest
No. One can only hope Cannoneer doesn't turn their harpoon gun on us. Cannoneer is a powerful being, uncontrollable and hungry to hunt everything.
Cannoneer single-handedly defeated GW Elder in hand-to-hand compabat. With her harpoon gun.
Cannoneer's definitely a Sovereign of some sorts.
You want to know why Cannoneer has no throne or castle? The world is their castle, and everything is their throne.
It's their world. We're just living in it.
I once wheezed when Cannoneer punched me in the gut. I thanked them for the opportunity while gasping for breath.
Ever since they got introduced I have not been able to shake the idea of ancestors with guns from my head… imagine the lore if isle elder was allowed to shoot people
Sky: COTL but it's American
Oh my god can you imagine FPS sky
Sky: CoD
Season Of Noscope
I know we’re joking but I still am sad we never got a season where we were allowed to just like… chuck spears at things
New mechanic: PvP combat.
Hi, guess who it is........
It's you!
||It’s a me! Mario!||
Mario is canon.
ITS ME, and I'm back to bring more chaos to the spaghetti kingdom of sky.
can you imagine walking near the pipes in wasteland and hearing Mario’s voice coming from inside echoing around ominously
wa-hoo
hoo
hoo
hoo
hoo
You wanna know what's staring at you in Fire Trial? It's Mario. He's thirsting for your spaghetti.
You hear his taking damage noises and then everything goes quiet. You never hear his voice again and whenever you try to mention it to someone, they look at you like you’re crazy
Until… one day… you relive the wasteland elder cutscene… and he’s been replaced by Mario
"So long, gay bowser!"
"WAaaAHHHhHhhhHHHhhHH"
I can HEAR the Mario noises and it’s slaughtering me
Isn’t there at least one spirit located inside the GW pipes at some point
Crab Whisperer, who bears a striking resemblance to Pauline...
Suddenly, Mario is no longer in the gw elder cutscene. Confused you head into the vault of knowledge, only to find the wierd floating Mario head from Mario 64 has replaced the dark stone diamond controlling the lift. You must now live the rest of your vault days with him whispering random useless words into your ears.
In the distant background, you hear the SM64 start screen bg.
Whenever you take screenshots of the game… it appears as normal… but Mario’s wahooos still echo in the golden wasteland music
Every time you enter ||pnr|| peaches letter is read to you aloud.
Luigi replaces Prairie Elder. Nothing really changes. It's the only peace you get from the haunting wahoos echoing throughout the world of sky.
Mario is the reason why the forgotten ark mushrooms disappeared
L is real
And
MARIO WHYYYYYY, I WANTED THOSE FREE SCENTED CANDLES!!!!
toad removes his mushroom
The crabs were actually more spherical at some point, sort of like a globe with legs. They’re all flat because Mario tried to jump on top of them to kill them
THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SPIKE CREBS
You enter pnr. Instead of the normal Eden, you're in Peaches Castle. You put your light in the statues. Finally, you reach the last one. Suddenly, Mario shows up, and starts growing rapidly. He eats a fire flower, and starts burping up fire balls. Mario is the Eden Crystel.
I wish I had video or photo editing skills so I could edit Mario into the world of sky and post it with no context
Eventually, all of sky's graphics become that of Mario 64's.
The portals turn into paintings you have to enter
Ba-da ba Ba-da ba. ba
With sky becoming a nintendo game, do you think there's a way for skykids to end up in ssb
What would they do? Honk-pulverize their enemies away?
They are banned from the game due to being virtually unkillable
I do. Be right back.
It's all fun and games until you see a red spotlight around the moth approaching you
They can remove the candle from their chest and immediately begin to commit arson, burning the entire stage and everyone in it
Every time they lose their lives, they come back as a flaming ball of fire, causing everyone to be launched off the stage. Only few will survive this game of natural selection.
They can take another's hand and drop them off a cliff, if skids can survive it then Isabelle should be able to survive it to.
What even is their weapon though? Does their entire strategy revolve around psychological warfare
CONSISTENT HONKS UNTILL THEIR MINDS BREAK!!!!!
Imagine this being written into the official lore as what actually happened with the whole war thing
The war took over the entirety of ssb, thats why the worlds are so desolate and make no sense.
I'm hungry, but I don't know why.
But the question is… could they beat Mario
OH DEAR GOD
there is no god if that exists
I see nothing wrong with this. Completely child friendly.
Also, did you also break into TGC's office and steal some concepts as well?
Yup. Let me post some more.
All those debates about the nature of darkness were wrong. It’s just Mario
🅰️🅰️🅰️🅰️🅰️
Mario is the reason the King was corrupted.
Wait that actually brings up and interesting thought, what if the king got corrupted because of the trial of fire?
I just noticed the eyes…
What happens when the candles suddenly go out in home space at 12:00 am?
||(why do I hear The Toreadors March)||
Im not getting good vib-mg edsazqaqa
Uncanny Mr Incredible
that is fantastic
Its true modern art.
I want to sleep but when I close my eyes all I see is Mario
he is in your eyes
your skykid lives in your eyeballs
Found another one.
So when they want to go out they uhh….
these are like honest god unsettling I love them
greetings lorechat we were sorta discussing this in cozy but uh
how do yall interpret the Belonging family tree
like are Grandma and Wise Grandparent married or smth
or are Sparkler and Pleaful the married ones
if Confetti is Confetti Cousin which one of the two parents has a sibling who is a parent of Confetti
Hahaha. Belonging family invented gender.
because like
what if Grandma and Wise Grandparent are the parents of both Sparkler and Pleaful
they're not married, they're just siblings
it's not specified anywhere if they're married as far as I know please correct me if I'm wrong I did not play during Belonging
and like
Sparkler is the parent of Confetti and Pleaful is the parent of the other two, making Confetti a cousin to Boogie and Headpat
everyone gets matching capes because they're one big happy family
Not all families are made up of married couples and sired children. This is especially true of Ancestors, of which we don't know if marriage even exists as a concept, and what family units generally look like.
yea fair point
I would take it at face value. Gradma and wise Grandparent are the grandparents. Sparkler is a parent, pleaful parent is a parent. The children are the children.
You can think of the Abyss crew as another family unit of unrelated members.
Hold on, actually. Let me look up sparkler's memory. Pleaful doesn't give us much, since he's chasing after grabs.
And I haven't relived Boogie, confetti, or headpat in a while.
So, @slow portal , Sparkler parent seems to be teaching boogie and confetti the sparkler ability. At the very least, one of the two is the child of Sparkler, and judging by their names it's boogie. Since they have a similar cape to Headpat, the two are likely siblings, and we see Pleaful Parent with headpat, so it's likely they are headpat's parent.
It's likely that headpat and boogie are sparkler and pleaful's children, and they adopted confetti cousin. Wise grandparent and grandma are the grandparents, and grandma is likely the matriarch of the family.
i see
Headpat is the eldest, Confetti is likely second eldest, and boogie is the youngest.
And like I mentioned before, Belonging family is loaded.
personal family headcanon
put in as might be relevant to this
just what I think, no obligation to agree
So a question: anyone got a theory on why isle of dawn is so empty compared to the other realms?
Ohhyeah..
Somewhere it was even showed in concepct that {{ could be a sign in the "wheel of life" representing Megabird ... And someone even pointed out about the windvane
sharing that shape
How did I miss the last deduction?!

Even outside Treasure Reef?
Interesting... I always took for granted they were with engraving...
But If I am not mistaken those ready to be shipped in the hold of the shipwreck are engraved, so maybe one is refined and one is not.
If they trully are battery/condensators of energy, ~maybe they display the engraving when charged..
Perhaps a dumb idea... After all even the golden dynamo (turned on or off in Forest and Wasteland) or the bells have the engraving 😅
Unlike in shipwreck, in Reef they don't are very close to them, tho. And neather in Sanctuary...
If I recall ever since LA Old Beta the Shipwreck Area was actually called Crabs Farm
...so maybe it wasn't the Krills who sinked the ship /j
I see the more lighthearted is Fire Prophet
Highfives with the pupils and set a race with them (only to distract them and to get a head start and win 🏃♂️ 💨 )
😂
Your comment was inspiring you know, cause || Treehouse is "Your second home"

It's not much.. but it's warm and cozy

Anyone, feel free to fill the shelves.. they look abit empty.
And I mean the shelves, because I know someone could fill at least 50% of the screen with "king progaganda"
. Let's just try to add as many little things as possible

Even if this will probably become an inside meme😅
Lore would be expectations if we were literate in Sky language
... Which we are NOT
oooooh :0!
more jars then books

questo è italiano, è vero? o es español? Sometimes I mix the two in my head when reading.
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @late wasp. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
You are growing more unfunny by the second.
Here, let me try. “I think that español is a very flawed language. For example, most seasons start with “el” (like el otoño), except for spring, which starts with “la”. Whÿ âré all séâseons like this except for sprïñg?”
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @sharp lichen. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
Ooh, Baudshaw! You changed your name, eh?
Of course! Lapiz said that I talk too much about Prophecy, but you can’t blame me
HA
Italian, yes. Spanish doesn't seem so similar in my eyes, but then again, I guess it could fool strangers
belissimo! my gf is a Veneto Italian, so she would probably be mad at me for mixing it up with Spanish

Daaaamn to much lore…
Here, can anyone review these clips to make sure that they’re actually similar? I have a tendency to hear stuff when it’s not there: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqy3SJFBSoT8-xNVgb-0HtsoQ-Ne80dBZ
I’ll try and grab some pictures of the areas later to verify.
ayyy sup strega
Can’t believe I missed the skykids in Smash discussion
👁️ 👄 👁️

Lapis is our GW Elder.
You know how the GW Elder grave is in the entrance hall of the Vault?
And how he fought robot-like enemies.
Lapis will be our guardian fighting bots to maintain the sanctity of the lore.
it shall be revealed to us in time lmao
but rn only lapis is clear to me
I’m cat
My spear is my biting wit. My shield is memes.
It’s mildly effective, just like GW Elder.
Baby boy baby little baby baby light bulb man baby
The prince wears a stone star crown because just like a stone star, he isn’t too bright
Whats that say about skykids if they really are him divided into millions
i mean we are made out of rock
There’s a reason why moths run around bonking into walls and honking into the void.
Each of us get 1/2 a braincell
Somewhere in Zhao’s timeline it implies the king had a crown of darkstone or their crown was corrupted by darkstone something something.
Found it: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
i apologize everyone my brain imploded it was my bro’s turn to use the braincell and i forgot i didn’t have it
I mean.....putting a toxic substance on your head isn’t bright to begin with
Decides to wear a stone crown. Immediately regrets it, and gets neck and back problems.
No wonder the king messed up Eden. No one offered to make him a nice, light crown.
He had one, he just began going through his goth phase I guess
Prince was the first one to ever make a krillkid OC
The King: Brilliant tactician, pioneers black stone technology, advances civilization through sheer brilliance.
Also King: black crown, goth cape, crawling in my skin on repeat
The lore of Eye of Eden: "NO MOM GET OUT OF MY ROOM, I NEED SPACE, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND"
Alright but we can’t deny he’s got drip though
I would love to own his spiky goth mask
His darkstone crown made him go all wacky, it’s like lead poisoning
The cost of high fashion
Maybe the corrupted goth phase hahah
oooh like the mad hatter but less funny crazy more destructive crazy
in all honesty getting more info on the crown itself (or mask or whatever) would be amazing
i had a dream about it once
also has this been discussed before idk probably but those two, plus the crown mask thingiemabob, all look verry similar
and also the closet thing
symbol everywhere
mayhaps is like a banner of sorts?
Yeah! my idea is then the stone mask was modeled after the light symbol just to associate themselves with it and power more :3c
Speaking of Prophecy, I've noticed that there is a track called "Fulfillment." i did some research and realized that it plays when you complete the 4 trials. Does this mean that the prophecy was fulfilled, and we are the Chosen One?
Minor thing for character design. Do you think skykids could make the glowing golden light ink used to paint murals and use it as their equivalent of tattoo ink. I mean, it seems to stick to rock faces pretty well without washing off from the elements
It could be, but it also could just be a synonym of satisfaction given that we’ve completed them all
I don't think so, it seems to be mostly unique
There’s a lot of mixing of differing cultural inspirations but it’s not based on just one
it seems to be a mix. to me, there's some resemblances to indigenous Central and Southern American cultures. in Zhao's concepts, there's this image with monks but idk what monks these are
I think I read somewhere that there was a lot of Tibetan/around that area influence because of how airy/mountain-y everything is?
I forgot where I read it though so don't quote me on that
ive always loved the Fufillment track ;,,) it fills me with Good Satisfaction feeling
And I was sort of thinking that the trials were formerly completed by Alef/Resh, then now that they're spirits theyre completed by skykids
Oooh good idea :0 im not entirely sure but I bet the murals are at the very least light reactant since they only show up when someone walks by
Oh that makes a lot of sense. And yea, those are Tibetan monks — looking at pics now, they wear those colors and headdresses sometimes. I was thinking Southeast Asian
Image skykids giving themselves light tattoos or painting their masks, making their own murals, light painting the ground or walls like markers for games
thatd be adorable
little hopscotch markings in social spaces
but yeah that stuff is super durable, i mean its all the way underwater in Abyss and most likely untouched since the fall
Red Light allows for tattoo
YEAHHH that sounds so cute!! (the only reason I asked the question in the first place is because I have… a bit of an obsession with giving my characters body paint or tattoos because they’re a blast to design and always look really cool) Since the murals seem to need light to function and we’re basically filled with that, there would probably be no issues with the paint fading or going dim.
I could also see directional markers being painted on areas that are either really dim (to light them up for whoever walks by) or hard to navigate normally (I doubt you could bring paint into fire trial but it would be really cute to see glowing arrows on the ground). Imagine moths using paint to doodle messy drawings of mantas and birds everywhere
Someone said Doodle
But thats adorable to imagine! Aaw
Ooh question, do you think the murals would work if you brought a candle/darkstone filled with light near a mural? Work as in work for those who cant hold light (i dont think spirits can hold light?)
I think darkstone and corrupted darkstone can suck up the light in murals, erasing them, given that there's no murals in Eden
The candlemakers spirit memory shows them painting murals with candle wax, but those faded over time so I’m not sure
Also keep in mind the murals in treasure reef glow blue instead of yellow for unknown reasons
could be just different paint base used for those. though is it just the underwater murals? cos if so then perhaps it could be environmental lighting from the water.
ahh right, plus the light in the abyss is a bluish so its probably made w/ the same material
kinda reminds me of the old seasonal candles
Another thing I noticed about the murals is that they’re all painted using the same kind of brushstroke. There’s no handprints in them, which seem like the easiest way to render clouds and leaves if you can use them, and are definitely much more efficient than using tons of swirls to make the same shape. My headcanon is that the paint is toxic or painful (like can burn your skin) in some way so they had to use special tools for it hence the non varying strokes. (Side note, I think possible tools are shown in the candlemakers memory and left behind in the wind paths, although they could have just been used for the non glowing blue and orange paint)
Also, it’s not just the underwater murals. It could be connected to how wax glows blue
instead of orange now after touching water, and mean the areas it was in were either flooded at some point, or were just wet all the time from sea spray or a stray wave crashing over them once, though
Like if you wanted to draw a giant fluffy cloud, you would totally just dip your palm into the paint and do a bunch of handprints on top of each other to get it done in under a minute. I’m not the only one who thinks this, right? (Although, the idea that you can’t fingerpaint with it is a little disappointing)
wait a season of artistry which enabled a drawing feature in social spaces would be adorable
or like an artist themed one that showed us more about the murals and was more lore packed
I’d love the second one, but given some humans’ tendencies to draw inappropriate things everywhere and how difficult it would be to mod murals, I doubt the first one would be realistic 😔 (although I would immediately draw cats everywhere)
same i draw this specific cat constantly
I’ve mentioned this before but this spot in Eden has an optimal surface for a mural, but there isn’t. I think if there was one, the darkstone embedded in the walls could’ve sucked up all the light and erased it.
Something happened here and we’ll never know. I just get this great sense of loss here
Hello
Does anyone know any lore about the secret space in forest? Like... what is that place supposed to be? The green place i mean
wondering if the Gratitude spirits wearing orange is relevant to the ‘orange is sacred’
•oh god that place reminds me of the king krill thing
•i wanna explore so bad without the risk of getting krilled or hurt otherwise
•is that place like an observatory? or like a uhhhh one of the pipe things
Side note about the dark stone sucking up mural light: the only murals we can find in forest (which iirc has polluted rain) are under roofs or other shelters
also hi are we talking murals
nod time
Love nodding muralist, best enchantment spirit. I love how they ran out of story to draw on the ark and just started painting mantas instead
so considering the ench crew are travellers, maybe nod learnt the style of murals there
or it’s a further thing?
idk i think about this a lot
the glowy paint…painted with light? we see gold paint in wind paths

I want to see a mural sometime where someone horribly messed up what they’re trying to draw, tried to cross it out with paint and draw it again, so there’s a giant blob of paint in the middle of the mural
what if when painting you infuse the paint with light magic (red light?) and that’s why it’s glowing
nod’s been on the brain a lot. been recently thinking about their significance alone from painting that massive mural singlehandedly
OH GOOD POINT ABOUT THE TRAVEL THING, was wondering how the isle mural style found itself all the way there
maybe the crew came to
i’m going to call it CoLand from now on as a bad pun
have done so for a while but here for the first time
to bring their knowledge on light magic, that very much revolutionised it
thinking about the arab inspiration in their designs. maybe it’s similar to that; the science and tech from there had biiig influence elsewhere
WAIT THAT MAKES SENSE
Just tagging to see if anyone reply
Oh like… murals existed before but they only started to glow after light magic was introduced to the area?? Would explain why candlemaker murals aren’t visible anymore
wasn’t thinking that but ooooooooo
i’m not much use in lore chat. i only really ramble about specific topics i’m passionate about i think
(Would also explain why mural art style doesn’t evolve over time)
Also extremely specific lore topics are best ever so do not be shy about it
idea is ‘light magic existed before but ench crew revolutionised’
maybe wherever uh
coloured light land is
there were perhaps several crews of these that came to coland
i have a severe case of enchantment brainrot /hj
I’m going to say my idea about murals only glowing later is probably false unless prophecy cave got painted way later than we currently think it did
Also them revolutionizing it could make sense (assuming that the ench and prophecy lights are different) because we never see lights used in spells before that, also one of the murals makes it look like they had a hand in setting up the coliseum fireworks which are also accessible via spell
Enchantment is my second favorite season second only to prophecy so I am VERY much enjoying this discussion
notice how the enchantment light symbols have been merged with prophecy’s but nod’s murals maintain the old ones
i believe that those might be the sort of generic standardised symbols vs ones specific to the field of coloured light magic or summat
ENCHANTMENT PROPHECY LOVE SOLIDARITY
sorry for overtaking the channel with mural and light magic rambles
i mean you can tell i like enchantment and especially nod. they’re my icon
DO NOT APOLOGIZE, no one ever talks about murals and it makes me sad
though i’m sure it’s ok. lore chat tends to go on long discussions about hyper specific stuff
concerned about it being just us
MURALS ARE REALLY IMPORTANT TO THE LORE
the fact that we have a confirmed muralist is big, ok
i saw the gold paint in wind paths and went 👀👀👀
And the different symbols is a really good point + keep in mind that enchantment crew uses the lights regularly to make spells while the prophecy murals only shows elders using the lights once instead of constantly. Plus if you actually have to complete the trials to gain access to them most of the general population would know next to nothing about them. So it makes sense that the enchantment spirits would use weird symbols for them that no one else recognizes
Do you think they got less powerful but similar looking lights, that they created their own, or were allowed to borrow fragments of the originals to use in their magic??
willing to believe that maybe prophecy (coland) and enchantment (coloured light land) have similar lights, just discovered and used differently
coland using its symbols for the ench lights for the sake of a kinda
cultural equivalent thing mayhaps
attributing the standardised symbols for light magic study and practice to the closest comparisons due to not knowing what else to use
The idea that different kingdoms and cultures exist(ed) outside sky kingdom would explain a lot of the very obviously cultural differences in some seasonal clothes but would also imply that
- every other region is doing completely fine and is not affected by the disaster, decides not to question it, and just ignores us
Or - theyre all destroyed as well but nobody cares enough to help them out
about the random ‘orange is sacred’ thing i mentioned
it likely has different connotations from where grat gang is from
Prophecy ancestors prob existed before the kingdom became a kingdom. Enchantment ancestors seem to have existed nearer the end of the kingdom given the storm crashing their ship and the krill.
So I’m inclined to think Prophecy was the start of the ancestors’ light magic and it had developed over centuries to how it appears with the Enchantment spirits
ok new proposal
maybe ench symbols were more recent in usage (having come from elsewhere); the proph ones are used for the sake of having been in coland for longer
would explain the evolution of murals! needing an external source to appear (whether candles, proph qg’s drum) to being able to stay shining on their own
…but forest murals are golden so then what
Enchantment does seem to take place much later which opens up the boring answer of the symbols having just evolved over time (maybe enchantment spirits are from more futuristic isle)
I prefer “field-specific symbols”
nod painting them confirms they exist in-universe
I bring up Nod a lot in this topic
mainly for the “this proves the Ark murals actually exist in-universe and aren’t just for worldbuilding’s sake from devs because we see them paint them”
Wonder if the red and purple lights that aren’t from the prophecy trials existed originally and just didn’t get recorded beyond the murals of the elders each using one light once, OR were created later via alchemy and that’s why they’re the ones present in the last two realms
ok but the realm placement makes sense that way 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Mostly unrelated note. If we say that enchantment and abyss spirits are travelers from within other spots in the kingdom and not outside of it we have to figure out where they came from. (They could be from spots within the kingdom we haven’t discovered yet but again boring answer)
ok but
candle wax having become more orange and turning blue near water
this might be and prob is a stretch but I wonder if that has anything to do with the orange and blue lights
something something alchemy to infuse the flame and water respectively with light?
I WAS WONDERING THAT TOO but I couldn’t think of why it would be. Although I guess you could use it as evidence for some of the lights being possible to create instead of just all coming into existence randomly, the blue light is one of the original 4 so that implies all of them were artificially created
overthinking is the fun of it, skybot
let us have imagination
I can’t think of why they’d make the orange wax turns blue when near water change unless it was to make something make more sense lore wise, although whether that thing is “why abyss murals are blue” or to edit overarching light lore is a mystery
man I wish I was here for the start of Enchantment
joined very late into the season; wish I could’ve gotten involved in this while it was the new big thing
but we’re talking now
I joined right before it started then lost my original account 💔
though prophecy didn’t exist at the time so would be less basis
I can only imagine the chaos both seasons’ lore must have caused here… almost sad I hadn’t arrived to witness it
I wasn’t very active during Prophecy in lore
there were a lot of gatekeepers then too,, h
prophecy was a lovely time for many lore buffs nonetheless
Something about the urge to gatekeep lore that’s barely visible in the first place is both very confusing and oddly hilarious to me. Like what kind of person do you have to be in the first place where you’re THAT angry about other people knowing things
I am quite determined in my theories but don’t want to stop others’
me getting legit scared about blinking for one reason being it screwing up how I see skykids - but I have an overly detailed idea around that
This chat averages about 2 new people a month, why would you want to lessen that further
my little prince theory is a big can of worms
“starlight desert dream experiment” opens up way too much strange stuff in order to justify something I’m not fond of for many reasons
I will not elaborate right now, you can find many rambles in my message history if curious
Blinking is still very much odd to me and the idea of pulsating candles being the reason of heartbeats still doesn’t Feel right, but let’s be real. Skykid anatomy debates don’t get us much of anywhere especially with it being up in the air of how much their anatomy has actually been thought about in canon
the way I justify blinking is
uh
ancestor tech of mechanical eyelids to avoid anything getting in masks and in order to emote while maintaining tradition of wearing them (the masks are synced with their eyes, and kinda learn from the wearers) - skykid masks are the same models so have the same function, though it’s more automatic and based off spirits’ body language
this is what happens when a feature legitimately frightens me /gen
yeah. it actually scared me at first
i still don’t like it and never will - it brings too much emotion to characters that take pride in expressing through body language imo, and kinda breaks the immersion of these as beings unlike our world
and sometimes I forget it became a thing and flinch
so the theory comes from a means of coping but also generally cool
Ancestors seem to be much more biological than skykids so you could argue that the blinking is just them imitating the spirits because they think it’s how eyes are supposed to work in general and just want to be less scary to them. I mean, things staring at you and not blinking is a pretty common “scary” thing, so it would make sense, especially if the thing in question is also unable to die, does not breathe, and is able to rip their heart out at will, turn it into a candle, and set things on fire with it
I found the lifeless stares cute
though I guess it’s from the previous main hyperfixation being Hollow Knight
ok good point
thinking about it, skykids are pretty freaky
…I wonder if they could use light magic? They can def use magic but
I thought of the idea that “skykids are clay outsides with really hot insides, so you can technically use them to cook things” and have refused to give up on it without discovering irrefutable evidence that that is Not the case, partially because it’s cool, and partially because the idea of making pasta with a skykid is hilarious
a lot of how I see skykids is inspired by vessels; they remind me too much of them in too many ways
I mean the current theory on emotes with glowing parts (& some cosmetics) is that they can manifest bits of light outside themselves and use it to amplify their body language, which would be especially useful when you’re wearing a full face mask (with very little facial features under it) and can’t rely on facial expressions to tell emotion.
Given that idea, there is nothing that says skykids can’t pull some flame outside of themselves and do some neat magic shenanigans. They just choose not to
you think that spirits with beards wear sort of
half masks
wait nvm plead
silly idea: plead’s moustache is part of the mask
Okay good point how does their beard clip through their mask… do they have a slot in it specifically to pull the hair through
shrug’s going to need some patience for that
I REALLY hope this is not the case because it’s near the same level of cursed as “bear hug hermit is how ancestors normally look they just shave”
probably just ties into the "cosmetics are projections of light" theory
that sentence is awful. i lovehate it so much
Another awful idea! Ancestors and elders are the same height, but having to appear as spirits makes them shrink
“alchemist can you help us with light infusing quickly”
“not now I need to get my beard out of the mask”
We need a whole subcategory of ancestor anatomy theories that is just titled “Awful theories about hair”
commodore at least would have it easier
has more tangible shape to grab onto
I have one.
Its actually feathers
would explain the tie on shrug’s
@hushed steeple ………………….dismiss just has a feather/fur coat but out of donated spirit hair
Organic ancestor feather coat
Mantas are supposed to be extremely fluffy but the ancestors shaved them all like sheep to use their hair and make fake beards
this went from murals and coloured light and the light magic field to beards
Well, it’s an important and currently unsolvable question that is now going to bother me until we get an answer
I do wonder how the red and purple lights could have been created, though… I wish we got a tidbit on how that works
Also wonder if the lighseeker lights are connected at all (interesting side note, early concept art shows them as souls however unclear if this is still canon)
ooooo
thank you to nod for handcrafting a giant lore pile
thinking about that mural implying megabird to an extent
Interesting side note. Lightseeker lights glow yellowish which I’m pretty sure isn’t a listed enchantment color, something similar to them seems to be referenced in laughing lightcatcher memory, and they have the exact same coloring as winged lights and mural paint. Just something to think about
lightseekers pioneered glowing murals perhaps then
I just kinda assume enchantment crew made them to ease the light shortages. They where selling and delivering them when something lightning happened and they ended up having to use the orbs on themselves. They made them by bartering with lightseekers so that they could enchant them into elementals.
high-ten’s hat and hush’s cape are decorated with little light orbs; they can come in many sizes
or maybe those are decorative and not made out of the orbs
Imagine you had to win a glowing orb in an extremely difficult trial to better your realm and make it more livable, but it is extremely powerful so you keep anyone else from getting access to it. Then some strangers come along, figure out how to make smaller versions of them and refuse to tell anyone else how, make tons of money from selling them, and then immediately get smited and disappear
but why those two specifically? makes sense for shushing light scholar
would bring up polite scholar but I think they’re a gardener for perhaps some kind of zen garden in there
but that might just be one job
ok, but in telekinesis with particle effects, you see purple lights
those are def artifically created in the vault, but what for
my weird little prince theory ties into the desert being very purple from so much diluted purple light magic everywhere but that’s irrelevant
high-ten is a lightcatcher
which is a job in the general kingdom (see: laughing lightcatcher)
but those villagers were using a staff to hold it (firework staffs are def channeling light similarly!), why wasn’t high-ten and their colleague
hello fruitzie i’m on maximum ramble mode about murals and light magic
In old concept art with the Megabird, the artwork shows the Megabird taking up ascended souls (or awakened/enlightened souls) and then sending down new souls to start a new joruney of life in Sky.
Perhaps the lights in the realms are fragments of the lights that used to represent either a birth of a new creature, or a source of magic for the ancestors to gather and bring to the temples.
Light in the game is implied to be alive. Or at least represent life.
Symbolically, fire can be associated with spirits as it is a gaseous form that we can see and use to see in the dark. It is a temporary reaction that relies on oxygen, heat and a fuel source. If either element is taken out of the equation, the flame is sure to burn out.
Fire is also associate with passion and religion. It can be interpreted as a way of cleansing, thus making it holy.
On the other hand however, fire is unstable at times and can go out of control in a raging inferno. Flames are therefore also associate with death and evil, as with devastating disasters and the flames of Hell.
Applied to sky, there is an interesting parallel drawn between the holy flame of the Megabird, and the reddish colour of the corrupted darkstones.
Candles can easily contain a flame, making it a useful source of light. The candle can also represent a life.
Corrupted darkness although could be an forbidden combination, such as combining fire and earth, the warmth of a flame contained in a dark piece of rock.
Imagine if the lightseekers were trying to give your dead little light soul a proper send-off but on the way up the Valley twins use you as a cricket ball
Apologies for the rambling.
Salem's comment about the megabird, light orbs and darkstone had me thinking.
ok but the water removed from valley rink makes sense in terms of mechanics but “[blue light] points towards the pure waters of a mountain lake”
i guess the ice?? ice is frozen water???
Hmmm I wonder if TGC will rework the hint or rehydrate the lake
Unfortunately you need a new account to check the former
“pure waters of a mountain rink”?
no dw, any and all rambles are welcome
That is true.
Mountain water is known to be very clean and even thought to have healing properties due to it being so pure. Rain falling on mountains are 9/10 the cleanest as the air is colder, the mountains are high up and the air is much cleaner that high up.
I love how sky translated that into the game, especially with how it ties in well with the blueish colour in sky being that of the ancestors and the symbology of the colour. Although I am not upset of the ice rink's weird water to be fixed.
Perhaps they could have added a small body of water under the ide, to suggest the water drained away a bit. Or even add a pond of water somewhere else in the area (such as the side of the area that does not get used much). Just to reinstate the pure water detail from Season of enchantment.
going to go put that in feedback at some point; remind me
you’re welcome to too
I should give a bit of feedback too.
thanks. 🙂
i’m just a local enchantment enthusiast don’t mind me
What's not to love about powerful and cool lights?
the fact that we'll probably never learn to use them
To be fair, it’s possible that we are one of the (yellow) lights contained in a shell ourselves
Thinking about doing a color symbolism in sky doc after I finish the mural one, with charts of each color and what they’re present in & represent, because it would be a small but incredibly useful project
Side note, is the orange is a sacred color concept present in the game or is it mostly just in concept art?
Side note, is the orange is a sacred color concept present in the game or is it mostly just in concept art?
@keen shore well i mean, ||ascended candles|| are a pretty good indicator that even if not explicitly stated, orange implies some kind of holy or exalted property
Orange seems like the most important colour in the game.
The skykid's light colour is orange when not flying or hurt.
The wax is mostly orange with yellow and white accents, unless it is part of a theme like the fireworks for the dragon event, or underwater.
Orange is also the colour of the ascended candles (well mostly, since it appears reddish, white or even yellow in different lights).
The candle at the end of the credits is interesting, come to think of it. It is a red candle with an orange flame. Which is set in front of a dark blue sky.
According to the concept arts, yeah orange was supposed to be "sacred" and Scarce, that's why almost all designs (even prarie) does not include the colour orange in their world or spirits. This is to juxtapose the dark blue colour scheme, as it represents the sky kids' "holiness" as saviour of spirits.

🟠
Here we go
Also why the orange cape is the iap starter cape. Which is completely ironic because it means less people have it.
i guess you can excuse gratitude and enchantment as both of those groups came from elsewhere afaik
so different cultural context
Well, we've sort of been able to tell that the Gratitude spirits are a ceremonial troupe of some kind, but of WHAT?
I honestly wouldn't mind a rerun of Gratitude/Lightseekers/Rhythm if it meant we could get an actual story for them
performers and teachers
assuming from titles
Mhm
We don't get much after that tho
the figures at the entrance of the cave of prophecies look very familiar to the representation of the twins in the cave murals
idk what it is and don’t confirm this if I’m correct because I wanna be surprised but: I feel like so far, Abyss is shaking out to be a similarly Big Lore storyline like Prophecy, but it feels a bit more coherent?
I had a medical procedure today and I got benadryl so I might not be making sense
Well, the murals seem to imply so... maybe we'll see more in 2 weeks... AH HA HA
I forgot how much TIME you have to wait for the fourth and fifth quest
Hehehehehehheeheh
we've found some very evil thi n g s a a r rea ld yyy y yy
I've officially collected every single collectable Winged Light in the game, except for the reincarnation one. (23 more Winged Lights and I reach max level)
Sunday/Monday can't come sooner.
I am seriously debating whether I want to look at beta videos for the upcoming quests or wait to experience them myself because the wait is killing me.
Side note, if orange is still as sacred of a color as it was in concept art, chimesmith (and a good portion of flight spirits in general) has to be REALLY important. Probably just because they’re the one of the only ones able to make chimes and summon things
DON'T. I can give a minor spoiler: ||the murals don't even show how deep the lore revelations will be||
You’re tempting me EVEN MORE, why would you say that????
lmao! but it will be bittersweet, and we'll be left wanting for more. that's why it's best to take your time and experience it first hand.
we'll be discussing it for weeks.
wait we have to wait two weeks? I didn't even notice
See, that’s what I’m saying! Two weeks is way too long to wait (for me at least)
at least we get to rummage with the TS that already showed up
I half want to look up the videos just so I can cackle ominously at people trying to figure out the lore before the new quests drop and getting it wrong
To be fair, earth prophet is the second best spirit in game so, an equal trade
I'm happy Earth Sticker will be 15 candles!
(I got their cosmetics during season of prophecy I just want to say hi. Any spirit who likes spiders enough to have a mask based off them is instantly cool in my opinion)
don't worry, it's so out of a left field that we haven't discussed it at all.
AAND i couldn't think of anything on my own, i need you all in 2 weeks to break it down.
i legit think if i could rewind time, I would have not spoiled myself
Again. You can’t just say things like that and not expect me to want to look it up even more
I'm kinda hoping TGC will change things until then
PLOT TWIST: ||giant krill is wasteland elder’s fursona?!||
ik some think Homespace and the TS system isn't canon but I like to image Megabird chooses the order which spirits go back down for the skids but Earth Prophet was disgruntled they weren't the first in the new year so they jumped stunned the panflute warrior and jumped down their "back to earth" hole
I mean, they’re a prophet, if anyone can control the system at will…
Realization: main important colors to sky are shades of blue, white, and orange (color palette of aroace flag)
panflute warrior: mooooooom, Earth Prophet tied me up in spiderwebs and went down to the skids' Homespace, can you open another portal for me?
Megabird: what
Also, I'm satisfied with the meta lore that Salem and Alasdair are either Americans or insomniac.
We’re both.
both
The Europeans really are the bulk of the Vault
I’m texan yall
What if Sky gets an orphan hole?
orphan hole?
polishes harpoon gun not for long
Cannoneer is Texan?
Texan Cannoneer is a spinoff i never knew I wanted, but now I do
Is an orphan hole like a pit you banish all the orphans to, or is it something else I’m not getting?
I will say that harpoon fishing isn’t really a texan pastime but you do you
Yes basically
I remember the time when the intro said we were looking for our "family"
I guess we used to be orphans
Okay so then golden wasteland counts as the orphan hole. Mystery solved
this is cannoneer canon lore
Currently wondering what cosmetic most resembles cowboy hat
cannoneer canon
Didnt see the hand holding the gun very well in the right corner and thought it was a person with a gun for a head momentarily
apparently Days of Summer
i was around for Days of Summer but I don't remember that hat
Is that a bell pepper?!
That's Chill Sunbather's hat from Season of Sanctuary
@keen shore It's a golden crab
OHHH I COULDNT SEE IT THAT WELL. All the sanctuary spirits are Texan now, sorry guys :/
This was the hat from Days of Summer
not a good pic
ah nice!!!
I forgot Days of Summer exists-
Days of Summer hat (ft. moth me)
It’s so neat how the dreads (I think that’s the hair and not part of the hat) clip through it and make it look like there’s flowers on it
Summer hat + Confetti bow clip together pretty well too
Yea, that’s what I liked about that. The one clipping hair feature that didn’t look bad
…how did the conversation change from the plot of abyss to the likeliest spirit to be Texan to hats
Lol idk
That’s just lorechat
IT'S THE MAGIC OF LORECHAT
I got sick of cannoneer talk. But if shes texan I change my mind for fellow texan.
Yes I really want a cowboy hat
There’s more Texans??
(Disclaimer, am not Texan)
If Cannoneer aims their harpoon at you, what would you do?
Next thing you know we find out someone else whose active here is also Texan
Pull out another harpoon and aim it at them
be aimed at
run
I found more members of Krill’s family. If you have more, I will add them
dragon-like creature with a single red eye must be a popular monster design choice
Yes
Bonus points for lots of legs
And horns
And black
And red eye beam
we love giant dragon creatures with many legs and singular eyes
Whoever’s the oldest is probably the parent
by the way
forgot who asked this, but only today I noticed something
a bunch of krills will rush towards the open gate of the Vault after you open it with the crystal
so if you open the gate and wait, 3+ krills come from all sides towards the gate
👀
I mean....kinda? Different role but sorta.
Eternal krill
haha you're screwed
i dont play a wide range of videogame
I can basically call them journey-likes at this point....even though the others are all movement based
I thought this part was to add drama and make you run towards the gate faster, but now I’m wondering if there’s an actual lore implication behind that. I know the current main idea for vault lanterns is that they hold spirit memories, if that’s true, then vault would be like… a krill food (light) refrigerator
nah nah I shall offer the other form to stick to the "singular eye"
Mmmm light frige
wonder why they don't pull a Subnautica and just ram into the Vault until it tips over and breaks open
Maybe they can’t
Their horns would totally get stuck in the grate guarding vault. Also it’s possible that they were just inactive until you activated the Crystal
Is there a one eyed subnautica leviathan? They’d work
there's these guys from Fe, but they don't look like dragons (although they are spiky and dark)
I FORGOT FE YEAH IT TOTALLY FITS
Love how there are two distinct sides of the family: Goth and Skeleton
Fe spoiler: ||all furries||
We should make a family tree
I mean its an animal game :/
But I guess some do stand on 2 legs
dude they even got wierd floating ruins like in Sky. Fe is a good game (albeit the camera is kinda bad)
Yeah it totally counts as a journey like. Thank you for a new tasty addition to the list
All these similar games just take place in the other kingdoms outside of the sky one that we know nothing about but also got wrecked
idk what journey-like is but if that means frustratingly vague lore... xD
Wish abzu had a giant cycloptic creature. Its totally one too.
apparently TGC did lore better in Journey than in Sky and idk how true that is but I'm rather miffed about that
Honorary krill I think: subnautica chelicerate
Ooo maybe!
backreading that chat, the design for krill is psychologically sound. It’s primal. Loud noises, darkness, very large compared to us. It’s specifically designed to instill fear.
Yeah but its also pretty stripped down. Exact Same lore we got except the mantas are made of pants and the krills are made of robot
might be because all of journey's lore is within the game, while sky's lore is spread out across social media and discord, thus making gathering what we know so far tedious.
subnautica is actually an incredible example of this. The environmental ambience combined with the quips from your PDA give a feeling of terror.
what about the shadow leviathan?
if you want to design an undersea horror game, play Subnautica
Will check out fe for its cyclopses and I only saw the first subnautica so I gotta look at the sub zero one
i think GRIS has an eel going after you at some point too, if you want long dark ennemies in art games
I feel like horror isn’t the correct word. Horror refers to something grotesque, something you can hardly believe is real. Terror is when you know it’s there, you know that it’s somewhere around you, and that you will die. The unknown
Oo yeah gotta check out gris its art style fits too
me: checking if these games are on xbox game pass
Psychological Horror is an entirely different thing compared to normal horror though.
Aer has a thing that looks like king but not a thing that looks like krill. Slightly similar I guess?
Unrelated but interesting theory about the trials that I thought of last night and forgot until now. What if the trials are like one of the main ideas for how the vault works where instead of being the same for each person, they partially use your memories and personality to construct them. Would explain how they all rely on candle checkpoints for us (something ancestors most likely did not have access to)
Could also provide a neat explanation for how the king beat them so easily. They just got punted out of the sky, they have like 3 whole memories to construct challenges around so the trials became a piece of cake
oh right, there was one thing i noticed today while collecting WLs in Eden:
in that room with a WL in first portion of Eden there are Sun Round Shield AND Blue Swords.
another dent in the Two Shields / Civil War theory
Subnautica is one of my favorite game series hands down. I am a diehard subnautica fan it combines so many of my favorite tropes and is about all of my favorite things: the ocean, fish, marine biology, fish, sea monsters,
i've seen playthroughs, have it downloaded on my xbox, just don't have time rn and kinda scared
You can insert cheats to make you unkillable and to make all creatures docile around you!
cries in console
In my opinion the different symbols represent different ranks (sun is a special unit meant to guard Eden specifically while diamonds are just generic soldiers) but that makes the whole civil war idea less likely (although still possible) and, if the war wasn’t a civil war, what were they fighting
(they’re still able to be done!!)
Hmmmmm... this war thing is very imp;ortant. someday ash will be ready for this.
we need a season of war
Ooo
what? how?
Season of beat up everything (somehow I feel like this would take place in valley instead of wasteland…)
Season of beating up souls that are just trying to have a good funeral
Krill Simulator
YEAH I PLAYED THAT GAME WHILE WAITING FOR SKY TO COME OUT ON SWITCH LOL
imagine this is a stage whisper:
in the xbox one version you press RB + LB + X + A to bring up the dev console :)
oh those kinda of cheats, i thought you meant mods
nah, they’re straight up console commands!
HONK
I agree with rank
another observation I made is how you can only open the Vault gate from the outside
Meaning, it is people "outside" that can control what comes in and out of the Vault.
When we reach the Vault for the first time, everything inside is effectivelly locked.
My first “gaming” experience was playing a wii game called Endless Ocean, where you are a diver finding ocean animals and you go to a bunch of different biomes. I had really bad pneumonia at the time so it was all I was able to do. To this day I’m pretty sure my near fanatic, fever-driven obsession with that game permenately altered my brain chemistry and made my special interest in marine biology and the ocean in general skyrocket.
So needless to say when I saw Abyss promo I immediately zoomed to start playing Sky again LOL
The void keeps calling
Yooo I remember endless ocean. I played the sequel, and spent hours training the whales and porpoises you brefriended.
if a skykid were to try to fly to Treasure Reef rather than take the boat, would they survive?
Yoooo!! I loved the Sequel as well, played it to death even though the fact that sharks could HURT you in the second game was a lot to get used to when I was younger lol. I got huge nostalgia seeing the Treasure Reef ruins because they reminded me of the mediterranean ruins in that game
I think they'd get sucked into the Wasteland Cloud Vortex
Gosh, what a trip. I haven’t thought about Endless Ocean for a long time. Abzu really envokes those feelings as well, as you’re well aware.
And so the void keeps calling, like it's luring you in with a curse...
They could try and fly over the vortex, above the upper cloud layer. That might work to get to treasure reef.
just put your phone in airplane mode
This is really interesting because you’d think it would be the other way around. Maybe it’s an attempt to stop people from going into Eden and the heart of the disaster, so everyone from vault couldn’t leave afterwards and had to slowly live off their limited food and water stores until those ran out… (as there doesn’t seem to be much of any farms inside) and the praying acolyte was just the last one who survived
And then after that happened, no one could head through Eden and properly ascend, so everyone still alive had to live with the knowledge that after they died their spirit would just be stuck in the same place with no way to move on. Fun!
Doctor, the voices … they never stop.
Lol just put your phone in Do Not Disturb XD
Once again, Lore chat is solving the world’s problems. Today, mental illness. Tomorrow, who knows?
Yes!!! Abzu is another fave. I’ve been gunning for an Abzu tie in to Sky but didn’t think we’d get something like this, it’s great!
This isn’t even about Sky lore at this point
surprised a mod hasn't stepped in
Imagine finding the pyramid in the Abyss. One can dream.
I think we need to go
I feel bad for the acolyte. i really do. specially by how they are locked with a bunch of graves. this also explains why there are graves there, and why they are tending to them.
because they were the last one alive and created the ceremonial graves for the other spirits one by one. this idea makes a lot of sense, and I agree with you.
however Eden would still be accessible for people coming from the outside, what this shows is something else:
Eden Storm likely killed everyone in GW, so much so that there was nobody to open the Vault gate. People in the Vault escaped the hit of the Storm for the most part. I would imagine a couple spirits tried to reach the Vault but died in the process. Scout went the furthest.
Is Starlight Desert an exit from Vault?
Continuation of this: ark murals show a much taller figure who appears similar to vault elder in front of everyone and disappears after the crash.
Cursed conclusion: vault elder tried to leave and collect lights in a last ditch attempt to use them to grow food and keep everyone in vault alive, but died in the process and left everyone inside stranded with no knowledge of what happened
It's real since it links to Flight. but it's also Dream-like.
but I assume it is. Although not sure how useful it was for flightless ancestors.
I think the space where Starlight Desert is is real, but what we see inside isn't. All just a projection from that big lantern. (just a headcanon, but let's face it, TLP headcanons will probably stay as headcanons forever)
omg hi lore chat ^_^
ilove lore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOV THE RAINBOW 🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈 🏳️🌈

Thank you Springtrap from Five Nights At Freddy’s
No problem fish (tap my pfp to feed him)
It's gay. But pastel. And it flies.

rallying prideseeker, or as i like to call them, rallying gayseeker
rallying thrillseeker is a furry dressed as their mantasona and we love them for it
Gay furries canon

skykids, after being reborn, land in Home T-posing
On all levels except physical, Rallying Thrillseeker is a manta.
all the anti furry people can cry all they want but rallying thrillseeker is an icon

PFFFT WHHAHAHAHHA
this needs some taco bell sound effects
Even better: windows error sound
That's Fire Prophet
you mean Prophecy Guide? Fire Prophet spun like a beyblade, Prophecy Guide is the one who had to get no slip shoes
Fire prophet is the beyblade and the guide is the launcher
this is what lore chat does at 3 am.
guessing Prophecy Guide had some issues when Season of Prophecy first came out
finally
a 3am video that's somewhat wholesome
did the spirits have beyblades

hey does anybody want to read a thing I just typed up about how cool the Abyss crew’s outfits are and what they seem to be inspired by
I have a headcanon that Prophecy Guide can detach the halo from their mask and throw it like a chakram
I've been summoned
did i just summon people by asking if the spirits had beyblades??
I gotta infodump about the Abyss crew. I know we’ve said that their hairstyles are pretty viking-core which they are, but their outfits are actually VERY similar to vikings as well. The cloaks on Commodore and Boatswain match up pretty nicely with historical digs, as well as Boatswain’s hat which actually looks a lot like a typical headdress worn to protect against bad weather. Angler’s outfit is like textbook viking tunic, and while Canonneer’s is the most unique, their cloak is worn in the same off-the-shoulder style that was common back then. And even the Abyss Guide is wearing what looks to be a neck ring of gold, common necklace style amongst men and women, they also have a pair of oval broaches connected by colorfully beaded strands across their cape, which was very commonly worn by Viking women! Commodore actually also has a pair of broaches on their cape but without anything connecting them. The geometric patterns on all of the cloaks are also accurate to the viking clothing style which makes them fit really well with the diamond visual motifs.
Celtic spirits when. I want to rock flannel patterns
Cannoneer's cape seems to be partially made of dead fish. As in, the skin of some dead fish they killed.
Traditionally the connective broaches, aka tortoise broaches, would be worn to hold up the straps of an apron/smock dress type of clothing pretty much all women wore at the time. They looked like this!
they fought a krill with their own bare hands and won…
…so they say
Fish ily
Loooool
Please inform me on lore i am new to sky i loveSky
Which aspect of the lore would you like to know about first?
oh if only it were so simple
anything i love ksky
Well, there's a lot so you'll have to give a topic
I’ve been marinating on this thought for as long as I’ve first seem the Abyss guide and thinking about how their cloak looked really unique and cool in a way that felt familiar and it was cus of this LOL. I think this contextualizes a lot of the, and these aren’t my words or beliefs, “drab” cosmetic rewards for this season. They’re not very flashy because they’re based off of historical Scandinavian fashion! Which then adds to the fact that they’re all on a boat that appears to be based off of a Viking ship known as a knarr. It was a shorter kind of longship that they were famous for that was utilized specifically to carry cargo with their deeper hull. This makes sense why there’s a lot of space for containers on the Reef ship and why they were carrying so much stuff with such a small crew.
This has probably already been accepted as unofficial canon by now, it’s certainly what I first thought of, but I think it’s safe to say that the Abyss crew were cargo runners!
me for scale. anyways that’s all no more essays
ty for the essay!! it was a great read!
can’t believe this. went all the way up through vault getting mural pics but wasn’t able to get the elder cutscene murals fast enough 💔 they disappear after you’re done I was sure you could just sit there and look at them more closely
Oh this is so cool!! Adds to the theory that they would go around abandoned places raiding them (or maybe recovering what little artifacts they could)
Yeah def! and I feel like Cannoneer’s inclusion is a fun means of representing of that whole culture of pillage and looting for sure lol
Sort of related but whenever you get sucked into the wasteland whirlpool and face plant on the sand beneath it it’s really hard for me to keep myself from laughing
Also why are we saying the rallying thrill seeker is gay when the truth is. Every spirit is all equally gay
sometimes i like to just stay laying there facedown so when people spawn in they just see me splatted
you'd think the skids, over time, would get a better grip on landing and dealing with the whirl and yeet, but nope
I almost feel bad laughing but it kills me every time.
Also the fact that we can tpose before face planting when returning from Eden but cannot after golden wasteland whirlpool implies
- our skykid is faking being hurt after Eden and is completely capable of tposing directly after
- dying and being reborn is less painful than being whacked into wasteland sand
sometimes if I’m committed to just staying in the ground I’ll have people stand up and stare at my unmoving body and try to honk/light me. one time someone did the praying emote and just left
i know the t-posing thing is prob just game loading them in, but imagine if it's like they land, get their body manifesting in a t-pose, but the momentum of the rest of their being getting launched to the ground throws them down
I hate this but the evidence is undeniable
skykid reborn
faceplant
A graceful entrance interrupted by their own inertia
you can also see some funny loading in gimmicks with the Valley Elder(s) cutscene, the skid briefly slides into view onto the raised platform in the middle then poofs. you do have to start the in-game recording beforehand (how I got the t-posing faceplanting rebirth vid)
Imagine waking up and just hearing the current ts laughing, but they’re laughing too hard to explain why, and you remmeber nothing. This is why
i really like to imagine something like:
Skykid looking over Wasteland whirlwind for the 45th time: Alright alright this is gonna be the one I totally got this
cue inevitable face plant
nono thrillseeker is the gayest i think
Also quick question, does anyone think the archive symbols mean anything? Was able to identify the four diamonds one pretty quickly but I’m not sure on the rest, my other current idea is that horizontal lines on top of each other represent memory lantern shelves
they are a reference to journey
when we used "calls" a combination of symbols would appear
some of them appear in the archive
Bless you for using that hair it’s my most favorite and I never see people wearing it anymore
Thanks! I haven’t taken it off a single time since purchasing it lol
TGC: we couldn't make Sky a sequel to Journey because Sony owns the copyright.
also TGC:
for example, but yeah.
although the 4 diamonds are unique.
i believe they appear elsewhere too
👀
Wait, I may be wrong but I don’t think the specific symbol in that image appeared at all on the archive cubes?
not the specific, but the way journey worked is that your unique symbol would be 4 mini symbols used to create a larger symbol. these minor symbols could be set in any specific combination. some of which appear in the archive.
https://journey.fandom.com/wiki/Symbols ||Journey lore was wild||
Oh, thank you! That’s really neat :3c although, still doesn’t explain why the four diamonds are also present on the second level pull door…
yeah, 4 diamonds are likely unique. I think they appear in Forest Temple/Factory too.
being used to represent a recipe (2 trees + 2 butterfly jars = 1 crystal)
but also some other places with a symbology closer to the Vault. Just can't think of examples from the top of my head
I know the forest temple has a sign with the inset diamond symbol inside a square, although to my knowledge the 4x diamond symbol isn’t there unless I missed it
i mean at the gate of the temple.
I think it could be possible that the four diamonds were simply meant to represent areas where darkstone technology and power diamonds were utilized extensively
Sounds interesting
I could see this. I wonder if there’s supposed to be a four-diamond symbol in the factory area of GW (first area with krill) but I missed it or it got destroyed? + I wonder why it’s four diamonds specifically instead of just the inset diamond that seems to represent it usually
Nice name
Thank u i also go with Matzueroll silent "e"
Cool
I recently read 2 theories that I like
The first one represents life in all the different realms an the other was that all the realms represent earth
Can you elaborate?
I've been thinking that the one diamond with two half diamonds beside it (playing Sky so I'll get a pic later) on the structures in GW might represent the Elders of then-Golden Valley, being now-Wasteland Elder and the Valley Elder(s).
so perhaps the 4 diamonds represent all the Elders who were involved in or approved of power diamond manufacturing. what comes to mind are now-Wasteland, Valley Elder(s) (counting as one), and Forest. I'm not sure who the fourth would be – Vault maybe? Isle definitely wouldn't be and Prairie's stance is debatable.
thinking some more, Vault probably was more involved in or approved of the manufacturing. the elevator moves thanks to a power diamond and the ancestors in underwater mural in Treasure Reef look like they're wearing Vault masks.
Ohh that’s a good point! (I know what symbol you’re talking about, but good idea to get a pic just in case) The four diamonds on the door of a room with a giant elder sized meeting table on the middle of it definitely seems to imply something relating to that, and if they’re connected I would say the fourth elder is Vault just because it’s in their realm, so if they were opposed to it they wouldn’t be hosting a meeting with that symbol.
Although — hear me out — it might just represent unity of all the elders and realms in general, even though there are only four diamonds, because in that shape it resembles the
, they also resemble the forehead diamond we were talking about earlier that might help ancestors focus mental energy/levitate things (both of these seem important symbolically) and they all fit together perfectly. The one with the two cut off at the bottom that you’re talking about could be a result of the same symbol being cut off, a representation of just golden valley in general, or a continuation of the civil war idea because it’s split directly in half. This theory is supported by the meeting table inside having 6 chairs instead of just 4 (although, to be fair, isle elder seems to have been forgotten by that arrangement)
Less likely? Maybe. But worth considering
Sure
The first theory suggests that all the realms represent a stage of life
Isle of dawn represents birth where u start as a moth
Priare represents childhood where u start encountering more spirits and more difficulty where u need to make friends to progres
Hidden forest represents teenage years that represents the different mood spirits and the rain is a representation of sadness as a teen
Valley of triumph represents young adulthood when u finally start accomplish dreams that u had as a child
Wasteland represents adulthood with more experience comes more maturity and with that u start seeing all the problems that we are currently living like pollution as we can see pipes and grills everywhere
Vault: repesents calm as an elder u stood carrying about the problems an just want to live the rest of the life calm an peacefully
Eden repesents the last moments of life when u the player try to avoid all the frills but u arrived a the point that y will eventually lose every WL
Orbit represent rebirth where u come back to the earth once more and all the cycle repets
The Stages of Life theory is pretty much confirmed by concept art
Yeah! That’s not really a theory, it’s a fact at this point. Although to what extent the stages of life comparison goes to is unclear — as in whether it just represents a jumping off point for the design in general or almost every small detail (personally I go with the former as it’s less limiting)
literally just scrolled past my pics of the concept art in Office looking for the Wasteland building with the diamonds skbweukbisdlhbkjwaes
Oh then nvm
That same diamond lattice pattern is iirc on the ground floor in Vault if you can’t find it and need to take another picture. Pretty sure I spotted it today
Office concept art showing how the realms were based on stages of life
Trees of Teenage Isolation /j
Also it’s painted a LOT on wasteland building roofs, off the top of my head it’s on the broken temple and other building ruins scattered around the same area, plus on the front of the battlefield fortress
I have almost 5k Sky pics, I can't just be going around taking more pictures
You’re talking to someone who’s running out of storage space due to taking infinite mural pics trying to get the right angle
this is why you should get a google drive
i have Google Drive, it's for my writing and that's a mess
anyways I'm in Wasteland now cos i couldn't find it
Head to the broken temple, should be on the top of there (I only remember this from taking a bunch of reference screenshots)
i know of the one at the entrance of the broken temple, but I know I've seen it elsewhere
At the entrance of the broken temple (ft. my skykid)
Pretty sure it appears in valley’s citadel, battlefield fortress, assorted other wasteland buildings, and vault lattices as well but could be wrong on any of those
Also sorry if you already knew any of these, I’m just trying to list them all out
nah that's really helpful
Is it possible that your oxygen meter is actually just light? Why else would there be no meter when you're in shallow water? How do you recharge your breath from plants?
Yes I know it's been called "oxygen" in the tutorial but idk
WHAT TUTURIAL
Diving tutorial? Or maybe the prompt that tells you to recharge from plants for oxygen or whatever
It's "air" pal
Oh... Hm.
I think the consensus right now is that the flame inside us needs air/oxygen to function (yknow, like irl fire) so you’re pretty close to that!
As for the light thing...
So water extinguishes fire.
The water enters our orifices (chest and eyes) and gradually extinguishes us
The bubbles are light slowly noping out of us
Bubbles used to come out our chesthole in BETA but they changed it to come out of this... something... in our face (there's nothing there is it coming from a void or something)
TBH I think the breathing mechanic is just a ✨flavored✨ method of conserving Light speaking in lore terms. Which explains why finding blue light and going near light plants fully restores your meter. There’s no evidence that Skykids need to “breathe” the way humans do. Considering that the diving masks are quest rewards, I think it’s likely that the Ancestors DID need these things to breathe when diving down and possibly the Abyss crew crafted them for that purpose.
game: I see you on top of the Wasteland temple, let's server switch you into the krill zone
me: you did not
So that's why skykids have closed eyes huh... But I can see how that's logical, I actually quite like that
Yeah, I think the ancestors need those masks for breathing purposes.
Doesn't explain why they work for us, the masks don't cover any of our orifices
