Something makes me wonder: If that darkstone is stuck on the caves, how are they able to pull it out without any pickaxes or anything? There's a mural in the Reef that proves that ancestors did use pickaxes, but Commodore seems to pluck em out quite easily.

Is Commodore secretly extremely buff or is darkstone really weak?

Maybe Commodore is pulling out exposed Darkstone. Keep in mind, Commodore is picking them up near the water which would've softened and eroded the soil to the point that pulling darkstone out is possible. I haven't seen the mural yet but perhaps the reason why they're using pickaxes is the soil that's the darsktone is embedded in is still quite hard due to the lack of any water from softening the soil up

Hey Sky peeps ! Do you think it's possible for TGC to expand the map forever with seasonnal areas or they'll have to stop making new areas someday ?
I'm asking this because the main reason why I do love Sky is because of the exploration and everytime they are adding a new map I really really love exploring them or just chill there with my friends

I mean, it's possible, but it's likely they will eventually move on to other projects.

Personally, I look at that area's opening quote "Where dreamlike world's collide" and take that to mean that the starlight desert is a result of the worlds of sky and petit prince meeting or connecting. Like, they both did exist, just never had any impact on each other until now. Their past was written in separate books and their future is written in one.

I mean, there is no real answer to this, it's likely that not even they know the answer. They could continue to make seasons past the stories true completion. They could make a season of concepts, with an area full of pictures and entrances to previous builds of sky filled with bugs and strange glitches from days gone by. They could make a season of oobs, that revolves around chibi slides. There's no real limit to the possibilities of sky, but, in truth, not all that can be will be.

They always say they have a lot of new ideas to use. I can’t wrap my head around how the game is destined to get bigger and bigger. I worry a little about areas not getting player populated, a bit. Flight fixed a lot of that making tedious ones easier to visit.

i wouldnt want them to keep just adding on massive new maps until the file size implodes

id rather they start taking a break from seasons during fall and winter to make the actual journey to eden feel more and more like a stronger experience and not just something you can do in under 2-3 hours

they could easily do this as seasons (maps and the tiny amount of gameplay) aren't connected to the passes they sell anyways besides theme

id rather spirits, base-game and travelers, become more than cosmetic trees, offering usually individual but basic fetch quests on their own nodes, daily quests playing a larger role in the wax we gain because candle running is a stagnant connection to the realms, and them refining the moth's experience up to eden, and just how long it should take to get there and what the moth should do or see along the way

As for seasons, honestly, they will do what's profitable. I see some spots that might be destined to become season entrances (looking at the blue side in the coliseum) so we still got a while to go imo. Curious to see how the game will evolve, recently there has been complaints about having nothing to do besides candle runs so if the devs noticed, I wonder if they will add minigames.

On another note, do you think Saluting Protector is related in any way to Saluting Captain ? Maybe they're an (ex) soldier ? They're a protector, so maybe they were in charge of protecting the other gratitude spirits...

as i said before, seasons arent/(dont have to be) necessarily the highlight of profit, because profit (cosmetic purchases and passes) aren't even connected to the maps and gameplay they add in every 3 months

tbh i wish theyd just add to the actual game, more seasons doesn't do anything to lean the game away from CRs

also protector is a labor person, so it's prolly more like they guard things rather than be a warrior

yea, Flight ending just didn't make any sense, if you know what I mean.
so we have the Wasteland wind path spewing darkness for four weeks, enough so that within two weeks,the Wind Paths turn that infamous sickly green. rocks blow in and a zip stream manifests, so we can assume there's some harsh wind blowing in from the Wasteland path, and darkness plants start growing all over. but all we have to do is burn some dark plants and let the great manta smash the boulders then everything's fine? the darkness clears out? even if we assume there was a time skip between finishing the quest and the Wind Paths clearing, the Wasteland wind path is still open, presumably still spewing darkness cos we didn't do anything to it. plus the zip stream is still there but it's good now? why? what?

first half of 2021 went DREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAMMMMSSSassemblyPRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINCEAHHHHH

something ppl dont realize was that a big part of why they hated assembly was because it wasn't dreams, which shows how fantastic dreams was in all categories, not necessarily how bad assembly was

assembly isnt given enough credit tbh, the treehouse is a great map, the smaller treehouses was a lot more work than they needed to do, and the missions were fun and interesting (people dont like them cos they had to actually have friends lol)

assembly was a B- in cosmetics and a C in emotes tho (why cant we actually march around with the march emote TGC)(why does the bubbles have so much untapped potential)

I agree the was a hint of what the season was trying to go for, but then it did a quick skid towards, "toss that idea out the window and use this."

they gained humanoid shells, likely made of the earth around them, when they fell down into the world

they are sent to help the spirits relive their memories in order for the spirits to regain a connection to the Light and ascend again

they are able to take in imprints of the children of the light, called winged light in game, and with that they are able to take flight

they can also meditate, having very strong psychic powers that can influence the world around them and tap into the minds of others

because they're purpose is to save all the ancestors and return everyone back to the Light

As you all know, there are six great elders of sky. But in the past, there used to be seven. In the beginning, the seven great elders wielded great power, able to fight off the encroaching darkness. Their civilization of light thrived and they had many followers, what we now came to know as "Spirits."

These followers would offer their gratitude for keeping them safe from the darkness. The elders enjoyed many gifts, but above all, they loved spaghetti. The elder of Eden, Alef, had an especially strong taste for it, and would reward all those who offered him spaghetti with his Blessings.

However, as the number of followers grew, so too did the amount of spaghetti he would receive.

Alef continued to shower his Blessings upon his people, his power slowly wearing thin, until one day, the power of the spaghetti he had consumed finally overcame the strength of his body in its weakened state.

The spaghetti began to push itself out of his body, flowing out from every orifice and pore until Alef was no longer recognizable as the great revered elder. He soon became known as the "Flying Spaghetti Monster".

With his mental capacity damaged, he could no longer remember who he once was, and for what he had always sworn to use his powers. With the Alef's power no longer protecting Eden, the land quickly became overrun with darkness, and the land became a desolate waste where nothing could survive but creatures of the darkness.

The land of Eden went dark, and it's people corrupted. Krill showed up, thriving in the now dark lands, leaving the great cities in ruins.

The other elders quickly took charge and used what powers they had to stop the strengthened darkness from continuing to spread. With the last bit of their Light, they managed to build a great wall in the golden wasteland, stopping the darkness from spreading to the other realms.

But we did that once, twice, thrice already still we only get into a never ending loop

After using up their powers of Light, they retreated into their temples to rest, and they were slowly forgotten by their people. They stopped receiving gifts, and the faith slowly decayed.

Perhaps it was instinct, or maybe the great Light he had accumulated managed to manifest itself, but Alef, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, birthed life to a new being. The first child of light.

The child of light was born with a mission. To restore the light of the elders and bring back the faith of the spirits, bringing Light back to the realms.

The child would be sent through the realms, sharing its light with the great elders, restoring their powers little by little, before returning to its place of creation, the Gem of Eden, where Alef is trapped by the powers of darkness.

After reaching Alef, having shared some light with the elders, he sends them to orbit, to the Light, where they ascend and receive more Light to spread throughout the realms.

Patterns as far as I know are not textures - rather small models that move along with the Cape which makes them look like they are painted on the Cape. Same as the stars we see... They are not actually part of the Cape as in a texture painted on the Cape... Same with anything "painted" in the game.. All those murals, decorative patterns on walls.. Even the boat we travel has painted patterns that are actually not textures rather separate models of their own...

in Zhao's concept art, the Forest temple was supposed to be a factory where mantas were squished and grinded to complete the power diamond manufacturing process. while some of these structures are still in game, it's always been questionable whether the intent was still canon. in fact, at some point the debate here got so intense that there are certain phrases we can't say or we get censored. but some of us have been questioning whether the ancestors really did all that for their power diamonds. a lot of us have been thinking it would've been too dark for this "family friendly" game.

then season of Abyss goes live and it looks a lot like that process, albeit the exact details a bit different with the same end product. panic ensues.

someone suggested this could be a light creature nursery, which is probable due to the amount of light creatures present, yet the mantas in cages keep making distress calls and we know ancestors haven't treated light creatures the best in the past. are the mantas crying out because they are in cages or because they have been trapped in their for so long when they were supposed to be released? it looks like everyone left this place quickly and suddenly.

Yeah, it is weird that it doesn’t really have a visual equivalent in the area. My other idea was that it could be a massive drill jsut used to excavate everything but it seems weird that with all the themes of trapping mantas and doing whatever with them, a drill would be the symbol they chose to represent that. It could just be hidden in a spot we can’t explore yet, or we’ve managed to miss it because it’s pitch black in the really deep parts and when you’re exploring on a time limit it can be really difficult to find all the tiny stuff

It could be a really weird anchor shape, but considering we see what GW anchors look like in forgotten ark that doesn’t seem correct. From the spirit memories (and, you know, the fact they probably can’t hold their “breath” underwater as long as we can) I get the vibe that the abyss spirits probably didn’t know too much about the island they landed on, considering they only saw the surface level mining areas. So if it was a drill or manta drainer it seems odd they would know about it.

Also keep in mind that in the beta version the ship had a flag with the symbol on it as well. Not sure if that can help us with the canon anymore but it does make the whole situation weirder

We usually theorize King to be the glowy stick figure in the prophecy murals too. When he was a Prince. And that he eventually started using forbidden darkstone as a way to drive technology forward, but it consumed light and polluted the land, also corrupting himself. That at some point, (assuming elders cannot grow) he felt like he needed to become an adult, and constructed a false body (you can see a depiction of prince standing in kings face hole) and eventually mysteriously vanished from the kingdom all together also skykids suspiciously have the crown constellation for their friends

There was concept art of the specific spirit jobs and sky child was one of them so maybe ancestors were born with jobs already assigned to them, like it was their calling. And sky children have very special jobs. This would explain why there were almost none during the ancestors.

I think they could, some basic things that might prove this is the lack of detailed, almost as though they're watered down versions of manta, some notable details are the big wing flaps, the blanket tissue around the tail, and the lack of a second pair of wings since they're bigger and can fly solo, they also have a design around the eye not unlike the gold pots and bells. they would be a nice dark creature. they would be about the size of butterflies. since wax can fade away, they would be able to collect a peice of wax and hold onto it until we can come to collect it! Its for a fan-season showing a time/reality where the light overpowered the dark in its balance. it would contain some things showing some dangers of light (forest fire for forest) but also the peaceful calm contained in darkness.

what you are looking for is if biological evolution occurs, and to that, ash might have already answered that too, i'm not too keen on the parent-children characters and their appearances, but ash did confirm that there are parent-children.

if we look at their appearance, and we can confirm inheritance of phenotypical traits, than we can pretty much confirm biological evolution.

i think the flame goes out first cos it's more vulnerable given it sticks halfway out our chesthole. but if the flame goes out, we should die, yet we have winged light to sustain ourselves, that keeps us moving so we can find a light source to rekindle. we are also weaker when our flame is out even if we have winged light.

but if our flame went out while underwater, we'd be inert underwater unable to rekindle it, perhaps too weak to swim. so i think that's why they switch to losing wl first when drowning, because 1) it's light being forced out of us and 2) losing wl isn't as bad as flame going out and dying.

I think the flame is just a projection of our soul, not the actual soul itself. I think the reason why it goes to wl instead of flame when underwater is because our flame was screwed from the start and by the time the wl timer starts our flame was already gone.

Back to this, I have my theory the prophets are massive like this because of their proximity or even link to the elements they are associated with. It's possible the one could have been Isle Elder's disciple, but I wouldn't look at body type to justify this. After all, Flight QG and Prairie Elder have pretty different body types...

Maybe it's not just spirit memories inside the diamond, it's the entire spirit's consciousness. Maybe the spirit's consciousness was supposed to be able to move around freely, but for some reason (technical problems? ancestor sins?) they can't.

We can confirm based on the way that Golden Wasteland looks and also, just from some of the concept art (Tom Zhao for example,) that Golden Wasteland is a protective fortress. The high, thick walls, doors, and the fact that after the open areas of GW is a tight enclosed space, Vault, which leads to Eden. We can also confirm a war based on how the GW elder is fighting in the cutscene.

Fighting against.. What? It's never shown, so here's my take (also inspired by concept art but i'm gonna use game visuals too). The fortress is between the Creatures of Light and the ancestors. There are no living creatures after Golden Wasteland. spoilers ||In eden, on your way to Orbit, an Elder Light creature ( this one!) actually destroys a large building made by the ancestors, proving they're capable of destruction. ||

As we can all confirm via basic gameplay mechanics, the technology in Sky is a gem/stone that is powered by your Flame, meaning it eats flame, i.e. the Light. It also seems to glow a cyan-ish (mostly white) blue when powered. When you delve deeper into the game, we see this society of ancestors get more advanced, meaning their usage of this dark stone has gotten exponentially high, resulting in a reason that the colliding is between the Ancestors and the Light Creatures.

The krills sound mechanic, you can hear their joints rattling when they fly past you. They also hunger for light, only attacking you, and the manta in the entrance to the krill zone area thing. I'm saying that the krills existence is on purpose, a forced corruption via the dark stone as an attempt to make a defense against the creatures of light.

(also, just, a silly reason; the gw elder's hair looks like a krill. Spiky, segmented.)

Well, we can see that the people of Sky are not new to damaging the land. In Hidden forest, the trees are chopped down, and also according to the fanart, it's where the Dark Stone is discovered. We also know that, as you go through realms, the technology is more advanced. Pollution is a byproduct they did not intend but, maybe used?
