This is true, it just seems weird to be like “oh no… a slightly too high spot for me to climb up… I need to ride a manta for 4 seconds to get up there” when the citadel could’ve been designed to jsut not have that gap in the first place
Also, maybe there were wooden ladders but due to the high moisture of the clouds they just rotted away over time so they’re not visible anymore
One of the spirit memories you run halfway up the citadel so there are some spots you can climb. And those arrow slits are probably just little bridges
In this chat we respect handstanding thrillseeker for racing their friend up some stairs, only madlads do that for fun.
Yeah I just mean the ladders for these spots here
There's a comic with a headcanon that they were chasing them because of wig theft
And then them hand standing off a ledge
No one in the citadel has any fear of heights or death in general, if you put them in the wind path islands they would jump off immediately and somehow manage to die again. Reliving the handstand spirit fills me with anxiety because of how closely they do it to the edge
Probably them prepping for races. There are probably many risks to those races
Sometimes you relive a memory and think to yourself “no wonder you’re dead”
Also maybe they train mantas to catch them before they fall completely and that’s how the backflip champion managed to pull that off
Valley spirits are just Like That.
Maybe they were just friends with mantas like the flight spirits.
they'd work for an ancestor tho?
ur comparing while ur a chibi lol
Praying for life is a regular occurence among the crowd.
I love these daredevils so much, I want to challenge them.
who would win?
athletes who have trained all their lives for the sport
one immortal chibi
Me
I am not a chibi actually! I have the weasel mask although I am still pretty short so height comparisons are odd Now that I’m thinking abt it guardrails make the most sense
ur a very tiny height then lol
The mantas all think their ancestor friends are super dumb because they keep almost falling to their deaths on purpose.
Also jam… just like in real life 💔
Sky kids are beyond immortal especially chibis
While we’re on the topic of manta friends, do you think you could train them to do tricks like dogs?? I can’t see why you wouldn’t especially if you wanted to use them in races, they’d have to be trainable to some extent
Last interesting thing I noticed about citadel is that this sudden bridge drop off is probably not just a collapsed bridge and instead just a dock to hop on a manta or a boat. Adds to the theory of them riding mantas around
I stole this pic from @keen shore, thank you. (And sorry for ping pls don’t krill me)
The wall is built on top of snow- which means there’s probably ground. Which means that the citadel is most likely built in a hole, so the clouds maybe settled like fog.
Maybe that's a crater ?
Well yes, though they're probably more of Sky's horses.
if it's a hole in the ground, what if it's an underground building like the Vault? what we see is the top floor/roof
well mostly underground. can't tell cos cloud cover
Citadel could have used to float above this area, but when darkstone technology failed it fell down and made that crater, hence the damage to the building as well.
I could see certain parts of the valley city being underground considering it’s on top of a mountain and seeing vault ancestors had a history of liking to dig out places. Could also help as good places to store food
If it did float, why haven’t the orreries crashed down when the building crashed.
Sliding race has buildings in the cave part !
Also, @hushed steeple, maybe these were on a separate redstone circuit ? Or maybe they did crash but went back up as light was restored.
redstone??
Minecraft
huh
did not come here expecting to have minecraft redstone war flashbacks.
Red stone war???? I kinda wanna know
war against me and redstone. redstone won
You guys are cowards, minecraft is a good game.
I should build the citadel in Minecraft
never said it wasn't but redstone did kill my enjoyment of the game when i was trying to learn it

Will the mods get mad at us for speaking of other games..?
I have the same perception of red stone that I have of technology in general: Witchcraft
skykids get redstone, what crimes against nature will they commit
I bet you a heart at least one of the devs played minecraft.
Red stone flying machine so they never have to use their cape again
Red stone technically allows you to fly past barriers

so redstone is the answer to getting past the windwalls?
But red stone is dust so it might be blown away
Flying directly to space via red stone flying machine so we don’t have to worry about pesky things like fulfilling our purpose and going through Eden. As soon as we get there one of the spirits personally punts us back to earth
Can spirits even touch us, skykids??
they can hug us so yea
They can make it look like they're hugging us. But I think the reason why Megabird gave us solid bodies and didn't make us go in as Wl is because ancestors can't physically harm us as long as we're solid.
Given this information I’m almost disappointed one of the valley spirits didnt try to drop kick us off the top of the citadel just to see what would happen
THEY ARE KIND SALEM
hmmmmmmm
they are kind but have you ever drop kicked your friends into the abyss for the funsies?
It lasts up until you mention that you can fly and falling doesn’t kill you, and then you immediately regret it.
a n g s t
👉👈.
which part? the "looks like we're hugging" part or the "solid so that ancestors can't harm us" part?
They seem to be able to high-five us pretty well so… maybe??? I still have a hard time believing they can actually touch us though honestly
Kids love being thrown, I bet sky kids wouldn't even think deeply about someone picking them up and throwing them; they are immune to fall damage.
i mean, skykids prob are impervious to pain for the most part, so even if the spirits wanted to hurt the skykids, those efforts would be futile.
Fall damage, what about fire damage.
Yeah they’d come back and ask you to do it again
i see no reason ancestors would punt a skid, fruity
If a spirit tried to hurt a sky kid, I think the other spirits would probably make them regret it.
Oh that reminds me of the days when we hit a wall and lost our flame
make flying challenging again tgc
Beat me at the flying race if you're so tough !
oof someone got beaned
Hint: ||just fly really far up and the wind will push you forward||
In denial of death, want to stay because of some ulterior motive, frick Megabird, you're sus, etc.
this reminds me of something I was daydreaming about when swinging.
spirit pirates: oh no, we're surrounded by angry skykids, what now?
captain: I got an idea. does something to the mini power diamond then throws it at field of skykids
power diamond: explodes
skykids:
Violent theories tonight.
The entire story would be a lot more heartbreaking if spirits with happy memories like the sightseeing parent got angry at you for saving them because while they were trapped they could pretend the tragedy never happened and could still stay with their kid, even if it was all just a memory
Oh my goodness...'
Don’t remind me that the sightseer’s ||child died|| and didn’t get a chance to be saved
im afraid i must point
p sure everyone die
~
o
But.. but the child
skykids die in Eden all the time but this child death gets you /hj
Even worse if you think of the theory that we only see the spirits which somehow got corrupted and were forced to remain on the ground while the rest of them ascended normally, their kid had to go to the afterlife with no idea where their parent was or what happened to them
SKY ANGST WOO
This is why happy memories are actually worse than sad ones in this game
But tearful lightminer’s scene is quite sad too.. just saying
Ascended Child Spirit: Megabirdy, where's my dada?
Megabird: Oh, my sweet summer child...
Ending 2:
Ascended Child Spirit: Megabirdy, where's my dada?
Megabird: Your dada's playing hide-and-seek. Wanna play and go find them?
ACS: *nods
Megabird: *reincarnates them as a skykid
Ascended Child Spirit: Megabird, can I see my baba?
Megabird: here you go! spits out baba's spirit from the hivemind.
At least you know you’re actually helping them, though. Like they’re probably grateful to be out of that mess and be able to see their friends again
About the spirits moving on.. they are supposed to move through human then sky worlds then go to mega bird, right? Does that cycle repeat?
I'm watching you, @hushed steeple
The human world's involvement in Sky was a concept. We don't know how much of it remains. Not much, I'd think, judging by what we have now
skybot warning you cos you're too close to the truth
“I’m watching you….”
Warning: Intruder Alert
If the human world concept was true then I wish to be a skykid when I grow up
If the cycle of reincarnation was ever really a thing it probably got horribly messed up after the disaster and now no longer exists
could be restored, but by chance it still occurs. skykids get reborn
Because we haven't ascended everyone yet. Not even the concept timeline knows what happens after we save everyone.
but it still occurs to some capacity. all we know is that skykids get reborn
Oh yeah, I meant that spirits probably don’t get reborn as skids if that makes sense
I know, but it was explored as a possibility once.
As to why, Megabird is probably punishing them for their sins in Orbit.
Though it would be heartbreaking to reunite with your trapped friend, but your friend wouldn't know it was you.
well you wouldn't know it was your friend
I have this question that has been lingering in my head for so long, why are the tower peaks so different from the rest of civilization??
That depends if Megabird extracts our memories in orbit or not. It's still heartbreaking to the audience. Who knows.
What did the boogie kid do to be punished in this way???? (Or is it just like “you’re an ancestor so you suck automatically” situation)
Well you know how Eve ate the wrong fruit so now she's punished and so are all her generations of children? That.
The real question is, does Megabird think this is a moral decision, does it want to make an example out of them so skykids won’t do the same thing, or is it more of an instinctual being and just has a deep hatred/fear of ancestors in general
ive always believed it doesnt exist anymore whatsoever
We don't even know if the ancestors were deliberately sent down or not. Idk what to tell you pal.
True, the purpose of my post was basically meant to say the punishment idea has some interesting implications (I feel like I use those last two words too much)
Unrelated side note, what is everyone’s awful and cursed theory ideas? Mine is that elders are actually normal human size (~6ft/2m) and spirits and skykids are just tiny
Well compare the skykids to office bean bags, they are about two bean bags tall at normal size.
rubs hands together. angst. this is where i come in
Bean bags are about as standardized as bananas
Either I’m tired but what do you mean as “standardized”?
Standardized means they have a standard height
I don't think bean bags have standardized height
they might
fruity and i have talked about it a bit, but under the pretense of my 'research folder' theories
if the Light is just an ambiguous mass of energy, then pieces of that light that fall away, end up just being pieces of light again that just blend in with the mass once more, just winged... things, swimming forever
theoretically, with the above theory in mind, if they are just a drop of water evaporating back into the cloud, they could possibly be one of the drops of water that falls back down to earth and is charactarized as a skychild
to explain why we see the spirits still characterized even inside Orbit, I still headcanon the path in Orbit to the gate is all just in our own Mindspace, and that that path is just basically, our Skykid's "interpretation of heaven", if you will
that's why the spirits are there
I can definitely see that. I don’t have any evidence for why they wouldn’t be, it’s just hard for me to accept if that makes sense? Something about spirits becoming skykids just feels weird to me. I think it’s because I think of them as completely separate entities…
I just wish we were given more info/personality so that it would be easier to tell
you never will get more info 😌
and that's your/ur-skykid's personal view, that makes it sound so weird to think about
i like that
even you being weirded out by it is hypothetically canon, i love asserting the player projection theory into this process
cos it is weird
skykids petrified in Eden are in an unconscious frozen limbo, their souls trapped in the casing of their darkened bodies unable to ascend. to free them, they need winged light, in which the winged light awakens them and becomes theirs, hence the white unlit skykid in the pity room that's always the same height as you. but in doing so, the skykid that gave up their own winged light is now petrified in Eden in the same state. so another skykid has to sacrifice themself to save them then another one has to save them and it's a futile cycle.
Valley elder(s) have some serious identity issues. are they one or two? Megabird made the Valley elder(s) like that™️ or punished them to be like that™️ (i'm writing a cosmic horror fic about it) as a reminder that They have ultimate dominion over the world and can and will mess you up if you stray from their goodwill. of course, the Valley elder(s) cover everything up with humor. they focus on entertaining other people so they don't think about themselves
It's futile in-game. I assume that if a beefy 200-wl skykid comes in, they might be able to reach the diamond and... Idk what to do with it but maybe they can deactivate the storm or something and survive with maybe one wl left and go back home.
Lore like this is why I hate thinking of Megabird as the more human/calculating deity the intro seems to suggest instead of purely instinctual because once you start thinking about things more than surface level, especially with the endless skykid death cycle, it does NOT feel benevolent
~~also when you’re done can you share the fic? I am curious ~~
i still dont believe in the death cycle theory personally completely out of bias because i think it sounds angsty
sorry for always putting it down fruity
…What if skykids are the ones being punished instead of the spirits trapped in orbit?
that's just what makes sense to me. it's not really angst for angst, that's where my thought processes concluded
Another way to end the death cycle is to have a skykid sacrifice their existence for the ability to save anyone and everyone
It worked for Madoka
i don't think skykids were supposed to try to stop the Eden storm. either Megabird didn't intend to for them to die there and just kept sending more skykids to brute force a solution or whatever is in Eden isn't their mission.
I think the king is there but the king is "beyond saving." is Megabird aware of that?
if you oob and try to walk there with the invincibility glitch, it actually takes 2 hours, so no, you'd need like 8000 wl

@frigid tinsel yeah no its logical enough i certainly admit that which is why i said im only against it due to bias
Okay I see
But then again the one we hold in the limbo when we get petrified could be the one who sacrificed their existence in the world to save anyone and everyone
I’m not entirely sure, if our only purpose is to save the king especially with them being prophesized to rule everything and whatnot it would be a really interesting “favoritism” angle like… why ARE they so important?
What are your ideas for our mission if it’s not to try and stop the storm?
maybe it's not quite favoritism, but rather Megabird wants the skykids to save everyone, king included. They just didn't expect saving the king, if possible, to be such an ordeal
I hope we’re able to save them someday,
it would be really cool for lore
Whom is this "king"? I just got to the sever today despite playing for years lol
I think Lamed would put milk before cereals in their bowl.
so that implies it's the prince?
hmm, maybe so, but only if the mp-is-canon theory is dead, which would be really sad (and stupid) because mp was canon in the og plan
otherwise, it's just your own soul or something, cos that'd make more sense
Its an important character from the concepts of Sky, and is confirmed to exist in the current game, but sort of left to interpretation.
The King is supposed to be the monarch of the fallen kingdom, also theorized to be the Elder of Eden. But there's a chance they're not actually an Elder, just the leader and Eden happened to be where they reside.
Its theorized "King" is just the grown up version of "Prince", another charactr also confirmed to still exist in the current lore, but the biggest hints of their existence is Stargazer's memories in Isle and Prophecy
OwO
The King is the monarch of Sky. He is probably the figure in the Prophecy murals (the one that completes the trials) and is associated with power diamonds. Also there are a bunch of King statues/symbols in the game which just proves how important he is to the story
I have more pics of him if you want
it's also likely that the king was a skykid, assuming they're the Chosen One
That is very interesting :3
Indeed, the king is a very good character
The skykid in Stargazer's memories are theorized to be the Prince, as they're only skykid shown to have been born directly in Isle when everyone else was born at home
We don't know if he's good or not tho
Why would sacrificing existence imply the Prince?
I think in-universe it could be any of us whether there are lots of us or 8 of us canonically.
True, but still
maybe i just misread ur message lol
i just didnt know anything about someone "who sacrificed their existence in the world to save anyone and everyone"
actually everyone is born in Isle now instead of Home since the latest intro update.
Sky kids. That means us. Ancestors are born into Isle at first
What
all newborn skykids land in Isle, on the shore just outside the cave
How do they find out about home?
But that Sky kid was different. Was literally born into the center of Isle instead of being born before the cave
Yes
We were born at the start of isle might be game mechanic for guiding us 💀
Rlly....
first death after dying in Eden, you land in Home. I think that's when canonically skykids gain access to it or via the portal on the top of Vault if they don't go to Eden right away.
@thin dirge well yea i know, Chosen One landed in the middle of Isle
also in the og plan for the game after all your other friends cinematically die (they would just server split but are alive in their game?) and you get the flame to the core of the King, the King is revealed to just be a kid, runs to you and drags you to the beam of light for you to both ascend, and then in the beam of light you are reunited with all of your fellow players you started the level with
thats just what i was referencing as a possibility
i still think it would make a great ending for a final final season of sky even now, that the longer the game's been out the further we get to the crystal, and the more we see the ominous colossus looming behind it in the background...
So they just don’t know that Home exists until after they die??
oh wow thats a sharp hekin theory @_@
Hm... Idk if the king and prince are different people but...
If the Prince did sacrifice themselves so we all could be saved, then maybe that's why we can't save him.
oh they changed it back???
during prophecy didnt they make it so we start in Home for some reason?
yea. that or the portal at the top of the Vault after the elder cutscene. that's what one of my sky OCs did. they were scared of Eden so they ran through the portal.
idk where ur getting the sacrifice so we can all be saved thing, where is that from :v
i think it was mid-summer they changed it so newborn skykids land in Isle. I mean, I did and I first joined Sky in early August.
okay that's great, that reaffirms the Homespace being a Mindspace theory
you and your mindscape
I had a theory the reason why we cant save the Prince is because they're already saved
Those kids... If they came before us, why are they all going towards the diamond? If there's no one else there when they came, why wpuld they go there in the first place...?
The idea that even if one skykid save all the petrified kids in Eden, there will still be at least one statue that needs to be saved, unless there's an entity that can save any petrified skykids.
that one skykid would have to be very powerful
its definitely possible
hmm
the giant crystal powers the ascension beam of light into orbit (in concept art anyways)
maybe the prince had to rupture it to begin the process but was consumed by the explosion being point-blank
Jam did say you'd need 8000 wl to get to the diamond

vaporized
ohhhh that makes sense, that'd be a beautiful ending to the final season too
and yes @thin dirge , back when the invincibility glitch existed it took 2 full hours of walking to get to the crystal
almost as bad as the journey to the eden model above wasteland social
Yeah, imagine if it ended with a skykid coming forward and becoming something that could end the death cycle lmao
I can tell you, moths nowadays spawn in Home when starting the game@tulip aspen
Since when? /gen
I ask cos
oh my
your hair is stunning
thanks, I'm proud of my 'fro
I like how well-conditioned it is
TGC sure has some good head and shoulders
Dried in pure sunlight
Maybe its Maybelline
Do you guys know the name of those huge trees in hidden forest , l just want to know.
trees.
petrified trees?
Petrified trees not a bad name for huge trees
sky: trees of the light
This trees have no leafs at all it's just the bark and the trunk , when I played the game for the first time I thought that the trees have leafs on top
According to the concept art, the way the trees are arranged represents teenage isolation.
Wow, thanks for the info, also are you ready for the next season Fruity?
Good question.
I hope you are.👀
:D
I got curious and started looking up trees.
a black ash may be an option.
if we offered some black ash tree on an altar, will Ash come down?
XD worth a shot!
WHAT
WHO LIETH TO MOI /j
i KNEW it
MAKE THEM GO BACK TGC
Wh3y
I hope in future tgc will make a season that have puzzles that we need to solve in order to complete quest like season of prophecy except it's not trails but puzzles that require team work.
I think they should also add more lore in that type of season which have puzzles or trails
What kind of cursed photo is That??
puzzles that use crabs to press buttons
Was Hidden Forest an economic place formerly?
@compact shale indeed
@dawn reef I think it was a economic place.
Hidden forest was used for lumbering and also for mining and hunting.
They were gathering recourses for the kingdom and also worked on technology
@tardy whale indeed, it was a very important place for the development of the kingdom of sky.
If Ancestors used to collect lumber, where do they use the wood apart from bonfires? Most of the structures in Sky seem to be made of stone and a lot metals, to be honest
Idk, maybe houses or parts of boats, and mostly fire
Yes they used wood for fire and to build parts for boats
i dont know if anyone posted here before, but in a Season of Flight interview done by NetEase in 2021, there is a part where artist Yui explains how the windpaths links to all realm with a small recent Sky Kingdom map
you can find the picture through this link to the interview page:
interview released on 2021-10-13
https://sky.163.com/news/strategy/20211013/29298_978351.html
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @final mist. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
i toned the colour a bit brighter
this maybe the most recent official map (season of flight) , but i dont recall this illustration being released on Sky's official English posts yet?
WHY 8000 THO
IDK ASK JAM
I have to remember the lore of Sky lol, long time since I last checked everything
Eden spoilers
Has anyone noticed a change in ||dark room after the eye of Eden||?
The blue glow is now gone, which makes a small and interesting difference.
Gone?
Oh ye, I saw that in beta before update came to live.
But I assumed its a bug cause in some places, there's darker lighting for some reason
yup, it made the scene a bit more high contrast. Since the blue and gold are the only colours on that black and white scene. (gold is the beam that appears later on).
Hmm, not sure if its a bug cause iirc while that was in beta, some places were also more saturated than usual like the sunset at Home. But eh, I havent really checked if that made it there to Live. I dont play beta, I just lurked a lot in the beta chats
So this is the official map of the kingdom?
Can't be sure... :(
Hmmmm right
Hello
I Will give u guys a spoiler
New map "THE ABYSS"? I guess that was the name anyway
Here the new map
https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSeX2j2q1/
spoiler tag?
And jumping the gun a bit?
New season is tommorow, chill 😂
Geez, pal, pal!

Yes, this was given to NetEase( company that runs the China server) in a season of flight design interview by TGC staffs.
Should i spoil more
NO NO NO NO
Alr
If it is not in live, then it is forbidden.
You can spoil all you like in the beta channel.
Ok
good thing I made that encanto meme
It was given to NetEase as design concept content by TGC staff, so it is offical materials, just this particular illustration was not released on any English posts from what i rmb
U can find the map in the Flight interview link here
I didn't realize it until you said it
the song stucks in my mind again
TGC: What is happening?!
Lorechat: WefoundsometablesApparentlywebreathenowOurlightisfadingAndnowwe'reallDOOMED!!
I hath been summoned by encanto
I don't know if anybody else has noticed or if anything's been said here, but do you guys think this represents the broken mask of one of the Valley elders...?
what
I just noticed it was broken, but only on one side
since when does a valley elder have a broken face
also crunchy image, cannot see it broken
The pillar not the masks, haha
OH
but where the broken masks
Well not pillar, the accents? I dunno
One theory comes to mind that the kingdom in Valley might not be united.
Where one half is either broken or neither side wants to work together.
There is the citadel (high society) and the dream village (low society) after all.
:0 woah, I need to study my lore--
nope it's just the "dont talk about beta you lorediots" meme
lorediots?
Not flattered but the neme, but curious.
Is it not loreidiots?
The valley has a pattern of twinned buildings having one side broken
Sorry for the low quality, but here's what I saw on one of their masks from a photo- might be wrong about it being a crack tho because it doesn't look that much like a crack rather than a line indent? still could be tho, I'd need better graphics on the pic to see
They tripped and hit a table.
if you try to peek into the hair, you might get to see a smaller spike/horn on the mask for the
elder
PFFFT-
and then the table exploded from the sheer force of their head
Completely forgot if it was Alasdair, Kamilico or someone else, but I recall it being pointed out the twins hairs do a vague
symbol when superposed, like when they start a cutscene with one in front of the other.
It was Ameoba.
I wonder if anyone can make a theory that connects flight and valley elders, it just looks like a big coincidence to me but anything is possible
If a bird is unable to fly, it is taken to the Valley Elders, who use it as a baseball and fling it so hard they start flying. Yay.
In the Light Awaits cutscene, they summon birds.
The birds must be pressured to fly early on so they wont be used as baseballs
Good morning lore chat, what’s the topic?
Considering Valley incarnates emancipation after teenagehood, it wouldn't surprise me if for birds, it meant fledging
There are birds flying around the coliseum, ifrc. Evn if so, I am not sure if the birds are visible in the cutscene.
Not the live one no; you do see them when you head to the oob afterwards tho
I wonder, does the dream skate scene take place in a different coliseum?
I assume so to avoid overlap with the usual (day) version.
Would that mean, there is a second OOB for the dream coliseum?
And if so, is it in the same area the elder one exists in?
The elder one doesn’t have an ice rink. But probably-yes there is a different coliseum just for that scene.
Considering the elder oob is on this map because the altar is here, I would wager that dreams oob should be sought from the collosseum rink map
Excuse me, does anyone know where I can find spoilers for the upcoming Ts? 👀
Not here, that I can tell you. Afaik there are none yet anyway, besides Earth Prophet being next.
Ok guys how to get in sky lore
XD
How do we break out of the coliseum then?
https://tenor.com/view/laurel-and-hardy-stan-laurel-oliver-hardy-escape-jail-gif-3575628
I've been trying that for a while
What exactly do you want ? An explanation of what the realms could have been ? A glossary ? Deep lore ?
Rocket: windwalls stop us from going beyond the coliseum borders; it seems they are higher than the reset height so it's a no-go if you seek the clouds beyond...
Chibi: the reset depth is really shallow, that and the wind is hard to cross to go below the coliseum into the clouds. No assets below but I didn't get a good look tbh.
I think I will need the help of someone that can table surf...
I remember that when you were in the dreams cutscene, you could play a music sheet and it would pause the scene allowing you to explore around. I don’t know if it still works tho.
Worth a try !
I’ll try in a bit, my phone needs to update sky
I think it is the first music sheet, if I’m not wrong
So yes- it does work
pog.
When the song ends, you can you quickly restart it?
Yes, just open the music sheet thingy again and it will replay
Can friends warp to you ? I should try that with a friend
On a side note, try using this wall to climb up since you can’t really fly at the bottom.
Also, throwback to the old coliseum
ah, the nostolgia.
There used to be a cutscene to show it off. But the problem is you skykid is flying in and likely going to bock their head on the platforms.
At least the clouds were there to keep you from losing your light upon hitting the walls that hard (old feature, no longer a thing).
Still think the old coliseum felt bigger, but it was a lot emptier back then.
Yeah, or if you’re sliding way back behind, you are still teleported.
I always took off, I dont recall the teleportation thing worked for me.
8/10 I was flying and was sure to crash into something while the camera had a bird's eye view of the show.
I only remember like, 2 times I successfully landed on the platform
Do you remember the candle cakes on the pillars around the platform?
Yeh, a lot of people say they were a pain to get but I found an easier way to get them so I didn't mind as much
Oh I hated that so much! It was so annoying to get up there and at the same time my friend would try and race me to the cake
uh idk if thi goes here bjt i naver noticed this emoji
before, is it like the mega bird
it's known as the elder bird
could be the megabird idk
Its usually depicted as a light creature. Unless you want to say the link to all souls/source of light has a part time job toting the rhythm troupe around.
That was added during the season of Flight.
It is an Elder bird. You can see it by checking the name of the emoji.
Here is the emojis that were added along side it (to my best knowledge, I might be wrong)

were here before

is there an official translation sheet for the sky language?
@thorn oasis, for this one?
no, for the language in the game
like, the meaning of each symbol and what letter or syllable it represents
Can you give an example?
Aside from the diamonds, and some symbolic references, I dont know of a written language in the game.
If it is the bells though, there is an image I can link to.
Idk about op but the bells letters interest me
the one in the vault's elder mask in specific

Found that
thank you!

still digging for one more, here is the rest so far.
HUH.
We love the confusing language of sky— that is if it exists
More language-related activities in sky would be lovely, or seeing spirits use more advanced technology such as knowledge projectors and—whatever language the sky kingdom uses 😀💦
I remember getting the last wing at the end of both races was always a nightmare because it meant you had to be faster than anyone else or do the race again
Otherwise, Woop! In the stage already
wait, wl (stars back then) was always something you can get.
even if you got it, someone else can still see it when they have not.
did you mean the bonus candle only went to the winner of a race? (unless I was wrong about that)
Well, they were already winged lights when I got in (since the Coliseum changed before dreams)
I'm talking about how someone reaching the end of the race teleported all of the other people in the server, but in the final slide there's a wing.
So if you wanted that wing, you had to be in first place or the teleportation wouldn't let you get it
oh that.
Yeah, that was timed, I believe.
When you are too slow, the race ends regards if you reached the end (as in got the wl).
That luckily changed to allow everyone to race at their own pace, though taking too long in the current game would make you lose your friends, because of server instances.
The problem was always being in servers with more people, haha. I remember that it was a lot more crowded back then, since we didn't have the Chevron system and races were a quick way to forge one candle in the day
I do miss ending the race sooner but I'm glad I don't need to stress over the WL anymore. Win some, lose some
fun fact, back in light awaits, the races were actually a thing.
I’ve heard about this and I’m a little mad that I never got to experience racing others. I wish it still existed as an optional thing, maybe similar to the hide&seek spirit
Depending on which side you stand, you are either the red or blue team. Your cape will change to the colour to show it.
Then when the race starts, your team will compete with the other team to get the most fragments. The fragments that time were blue butterflies
The team that got the most wins and the cutscene will show the flags change to the winning team's colours. There was even a podium or stone tablet that tallied up the scores.
To my knowledge, it was removed because it supposedly made the game too competitive. Perhaps the losing team would be too hurt, so the races were made with no winners, just everyone gets to finish the race.
Too bad, would have been a great opportunity for a "git gud" emote.
As if TGC could stop us from being competitive, it's more of a hassle but you can time yourself.
It's just wierd even the realm based on competition has to be downgraded like this... I wish they kept the cape color change at least, it would stimulate camaraderie with people you accidentally end up on the same side as.
I hope left side was blue cape, I always pick it.
We dont want competition, everyone is a winner

Litterally why do they have more lore than us, it's so frustrating. That and the really wierd way NetEase showed they can impact us...
Urf. Salt aside, today I noticed the spinning mentor bends over a bit when they walk. That and the dreams spirits all being retired teachers... maybe the quail-masked spirit also was physically old ?
It's so cute how the dreams dancer had to pull their arm, probably pleading the mentor to teach them how to ice skate.
I was wondering it they had a bad back. Which could be why the skater girl was after them when they walked off.
If so, then the spinning mentor either got hurt and cannot skate competitively anymore, or got scared to get back to skating, because they might get hurt again.

I noticed this too, and thought it was a really cute detail!
Side note does anyone have any thoughts on why the bear hug hermit is a hermit?
i thought he was a yeti?
but also i think because... bear hugs? soft fur makes bear hugs warm. nice and comfy tight hugs from big fluffy man. doesn't need lore. also i want him to- @#€#€€&-5--+++&-(((+-+_6+ and #-#€##€#€€&+)(+&+-& me
Sky kids need air now
What does this mean?
It means that we may or may not have a merry crisis
@keen shore We don't know if they're a different species (different biology from other ancestors) but an ancestor in generational terms, or if they're an ancestor who doesn't shave, or if that's really their clothes
New season in 8h and a few, how are we feeling, chat ?
aperture science
Hey quick question, do the huge and/or adult spells have a fixed or known height? I need to know this for science reasons
Eh? Hermit means someone who hides away from civilization. Its not a species.
anyone who says hes not a yeti is completely mistaken >:/
Is that a portal reference
No I was asking if they were a humanoid ancestor or a cryptid ancestor. Or if they don't shave. Or if that's just their clothes. It could be any of them. AAAAAAAASH
I really hope it’s not the first or second one because both imply that when we wear their cosmetics we’re wearing an imitation of their skin. The first makes me concerned or amused (I can’t decide) by peeking postman’s choice in crushes. The second one means that if the average ancestor never shaved they would just grow fur and I don’t know how to feel about that.
I’m rethinking it and although I doubt it I now hope it’s actual canon that the peeking postman literally just has a crush on Bigfoot
Or even, does the assembly torch item have a known height?
I still don't know how to feel about your shaving Theory
I really don't believe that we're supposed to think deep on that, on a completely other level from the fact that we're already not supposed to think about Sky anatomy
Mythical creatures and cryptids vary by franchise and media. This one has yetis as normal people.
I wish they didnt wuss out on the word
I hate the shaving idea because it’s so cursed and we don’t have the information to solidly disprove. We can assume by stuff like “isle spirits aren’t fuzzy and they probably didn’t have shaving tools” but what if they did
okay, so with my Theory on Sky children hair, the hair is just a projection of light
however, my theory is also say that the ancestors had a weaker light and therefore couldn't project as strongly, so that would have to imply that ancestor hair possibly might not be proper projections of light
their hair probably is much more solid and can't be changed on a whim as the sky kids can, which is why they probably aren't projections
however, maybe the light grafts their hair onto their forms
so that the strands of light coming out of them would harden and solidify just enough to become physical
I really still don't think that yetis fur is an actual part of their body
look at their mask and everything underneath it after all
I really do think that Yeti specifically is a suit, possibly a covering he needed to not freeze
I don’t know how I feel about ancestors working like us and projecting light and all. They seem too real/solid to do so if that makes sense, especially with the info they need to sleep, probably eat, can die from things that would Definitely not hurt us, and although polluted rain & water drains their light in spirit memories it doesn’t seem to hurt them beyond that. I feel like they were much closer to normal people than us, obviously with some differences, and we’re just weird
I mean, it basically is
there is the possibility that postman just really wanted to become friends with Yeti
either way I don't know or think that the ancestors would have any sort of higher romantic attraction to each other
we only think about that because we're biological after all
but I guess that's a controversial statement for me to make
idk I don't think skykids will ever understand romance but I think the ancestors had romance
Okay TRUE maybe they’re all aroace, I would like that :-) I am also aroace
There’s no real reason to fall in love with people when the sky just makes easy and convenient children for you!
That's a brand-new sentence!
After thinking about it I decided im anti mouth, as Jam put it
I think them needing to sleep is a lot more like kamis explanation of them needing to breathe, they do it and there shouldnt be any further reasoning needed why, that even if they are just shells with light they still need to sleep and breathe
that's the best way to explain it due to devs not caring about anatomy; we shouldnt care so much either
and sleeping is still very valid even then, as maybe the light cant overextend itself
and yeah there's no proof ancestors and skids eat lol
I have a headcanon that if you sleep directly on/near earth, your light will pull soil components into your clay shell and use it to repair injuries and reinforce your body
idk if Gran's dinner is canon but I like to think that ancestors have to eat
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/CheerfulMajesticDinosaur-size_restricted.gif
They eat like this ⬆️
my arguments are all very bias as i just dont like humanizing ancestors
Yeah, I’m just confused about the eating part. To be clear, I don’t think they’re purely biological, I think they’re just closer to it than we are. There isn’t any solid eating stuff but some stuff like the dumplings, the bird scare spirit trying to plant seeds, the alchemist trying to purify water (so they can drink it?) so on seems to vaguely hint that they do need to eat and drink, which is what throws me off.
even if it is canon we still don't eat it, yknow?
It’s like they expect us to assume they eat because they’re “people” so there’s never direct evidence that they do in order to prove it, because it would be obvious… does that make sense?
Side note, look at the size of this sword. Who is this even made for???
OH WHAT WAS IT
Ok Tsadi with an s (plural) is a no no word.
Do not dare speak of the Clones
well i think its better explained in the fact that it's just a human theme tgc portrays to us because it's relatable and cozy to us, rather than exemplifying what ancestors and skids do
when tgc does things and makes events they don't have the narrative (ancestors being nonhuman is likely solid narrative theme in the lore bible, due to it being exacerbated in the concepts) in mind, not [just] because they dont care, but also because an important part of their work is making the event/activity feel relatable or cozy to the player, rather than exemplify what skids and ancestors do
that's why i really dont think breathing and eating ever mattered as a disputable topic to tackle, and that we really shouldnt have to talk about it
but we're lorechat, so 😌
TRUE half my hobby is just over analyzing things
Idk. Maybe for a soldier wearing a Tsadi-size mechsuit? WHO KNOWS
Yeah anatomy is kinda....a nothing topic. They do whatever is familiar to players.
tsadi can carry it for sure, but again, giant spirits had to have existed

Yeah, it's not important to them. They're playing fast-and-loose with it.
that being said, they are shells of light that project forms and im right so accept it /j
Even some of the stairs in the sky world make me think of this fact because they even feel too big for the average ancestor. I’ll see if I can find an example but just in general…
Honestly you will never ever be surprised if you just assume they are just like human beings
The only hope of finding out the anatomy is to ask an old dev
they wouldnt know or care either
But im still gonna fight non-existent tooth and nail for skykids not having fingers and other digits.
Then how do they play instruments??
glad I've converted you to anti mouth
Hello, first timer in lorechat, it really feels like entering this theorist with a bunch of red strings club
While we’re on the topic of where things go on the biological->nonbiological spectrum how do you guys think light creatures work? Do they have animal behavior like being predators or prey, or are they just kinda there? Can you pet them? Do they need to be domesticated or will they just be your friend??? (I feel like domestication would be really difficult in this world because selective breeding is impossible]… They can obviously die so how does that work and what kills them?
- Krill were corrupted and not always in the ecosystem and judging how things went some mantas might have developed some evasive strategies, or they migrated or something, as for dark crabs idk what they eat
- Someday...
- Ancestors definitely domesticated them, we see some pull boats in Flight and one ancestor (Backflip) rides one like a showhorse
- Krill eat mantas. Darkness ig.
idk if this is spoiler:
YOu know when we like, die in sky we go back to orbit, the animals there also go back to orbit? I assume light animals act like animals but they need light to eat instead of well, food. They don't really exhibit predatory, only grow old and that's that. They can be tamed and stuff like the skid emote where they can attract a butterfly and the people in sky put them in jars. If anything, corrupted creatures are the ones that eat other light creatures like krills n stuff like fruity said
Apparently bones symbolize an unnatural death. Animals need to go to Orbit too but I don't know if it counts as dying for them, they don't seem to have an equivalent to the suffering we have in Eden
i assume each animal have their own timespan of life
I know the corrupted creatures eating light creatures is a weird new thing in the ecosystem, I’m just curious as to how it worked before then
Nasty rude suckers don’t have to get bashed open to fly to credits
i think it's like a lightbulb. Like i said before, have their own span of time, when the animals grow old, they just ascend and return back to a small tiny butterfly, same like a jellyfish cycle
yep, the animals and everything ascending to Orbit is what's known as the Cycle of Light theory: that animals are an extension of the giant mass of light that we see being a collective of children of the light in space
the light creatures are basically just the lifeblood of the Light, reaching out and touching all corners of the universe
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QeIMzNaPz-TzC8ZHrdUYTOZ99zObm1PYx65sejTyIfc/edit?usp=drivesdk
However, if we all work together, we can change this /j
yea they just fly up lol
If we try hard enough, we can ALL SUFFER EQUALLY.
Maybe not a great idea
I want the king to come back
Animals don't give a frick about rebirthing.
Unlike us.
Yeah I do wonder, can skids die aside of the obvious reason being sacrificing light in eden?
They can, in that case they get sent into a black pity room with a single winged light.
edit: you take the wl, then you are teleported to home.
I feel like animals do get reborn but instead of staying as the same soul in the same shape like we do, they just get recycled into the Greater God Mass and can be reborn as basically anything
Usually it’s birds because there’s so many of them but being a bird is super boring and everyone hates it. Hence, why all of them fly towards Eden to try again the first chance they get
I heard that the stage a manta is in is based on how many rebirths you've done. Idk if it's a theory, a dev statement, or a concept art idea.
Could make sense in our current lore given that every time we get reborn we gain more winged light. Maybe theirs is just a more obvious manifestation of that… though would have to wonder where they’re getting it from considering spirits give us ours
would say that spirits also have this ability to fly since they also have this winged capes. They're saving winged lights for powering probably
I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that spirits can’t fly, especially because then it would render your help in the whole wind paths storyline useless because all the spirits have winged/wing shaped capes
I think ancestors can glide along the right currents, but they can't fly with the degree of freedom/precision/control we have.
What if the vault cutscenes depicted apprentices with their elder
Would it mean...?
with the prairie mask ?
that looks so cute ❤️
Ayin: Great job carrying 500lb of butterflies, Flighty!
Flighty: *five... hundred...?
Ayin: Soon you'll be able to carry 1000lb of 'em like a feather~!
Flightly: one... thousand... OOF
How smart are the skids? They could relive memory and immediately learn the skill, while on some scenes it's implied spirits needs to learn that all of their lifetime before they could master it
Love the implication that the flight guide is extremely buff and we just don’t know it yet… ALSO I LOVE YOUR ARTSTYLE
Flight guide could have broken those giant rocks themselves, they just don't have wings.
what if skids are actually living in simulator and all the the emote (skill) are actually been given little by little because their body can't withstand all of them at once
what
hm
You know what would be depressing? If Sky ends with a scene of all the ancestors in the Sky, but then watching us getting taken over by darkness and petrified in the kingdom. Except unlike the ancestors, no one is coming to save us.
Couldn’t you say that anything is living in a simulation? It’s a theory that’s impossible to disprove unless outright stated, and that’s why I don’t like it
vela always had been a national treasure
You give me strenght my dude, tommorow we shall conquer the world.
oh no
Can I join please?
i mean skids were created for the purpose of saving the ancestors, so the familiarity to what the ancestors had become over time is a part of their design
its the reason why they look like them after all, and not some don't Lovecraftian angel
Also side note, was trying to get a good angle of the fortress in Wasteland’s battlefield because it seems like a simpler architecture to draw rather than jumping straight to the complexity of the Citadel from my beginning point at the first area of Wasteland. Was looking over the rubble and noticed something I’ve been thinking about for a while because I need to solve it to get an accurate reconstruct. So here there are tons of gaps in the walls (I fried the image to make them more visible) but there’s no rubble that we can find around them. So either those gaps were there in the first place, which is a strange design choice for a fortress, or something happened to the rubble. I think the second one is more likely (probably just fell under the water) but wanted to get a second opinion
I've always thought that area was more of a village town thing
seeing your art pop up in the calamity of lore chat is always a blessing <3
It's possible that where the supposed enemy penetrated the fortress by breaking down the side ,the over time ,everything got enveloped by sand and dark water
The art

i would comment on Sky beings anatomy but I am currently incapable of high-level thinking
你们好
I would say that the lore in sky is pretty hard to find but still there
有没有中国人
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @storm swan. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
And it isn't even that important to the game or devs. Unfortunately. AAAAAASH
Are there any Chinese?
Here’s my 3 second map idea of it as a defensive fortification in front of the vault entrance, I’ll be making a more detailed version of this later but I feel like it makes sense lore wise for vault to be defended that well. There’s even a gate at front and what I think are remnants of a watchtower along the sides
Is there anyone who can answer my doubts? The number of the test suit, how to do it?
what if we're all actually a robot that have been manufactured in the past that was meant for war, but that factory to produce us almost gotten destroyed because of the war and all the real people are ded
mmmmm, child soldiers
I mean, don't others think we're Megabird's janitors? Cleaning up the disaster, and getting reborn because we're not done yet
or we've been free for too long that we gain conscious
you're right in a way skykids are janitors. the thing is, we seem incapable of cleaning the big major source of darkness (Eden). feels like we're more ranchers if anything – finding and herding spirits, fending off darkness pests that go after the light cattle.
also we're not paid so skykids feel free to bum off whenever.
3 seconds
a thousand times better than my whiteboard sketches
though we probably shouldn't
skykids should unionize
there is a movie similar to my theory, it's called "9"
is it that movie about creepy robots?
Megabird: so you need to fix the ancestors' screw-ups and help send them to afterlife as well as figure out how to stop Eden from imploding. you will die many times and suffer along the way and watch your friends suffer but it's for a noble cause.
skykids: and what do we get out of it?
Megabird: pardon?
skykids: shouldn't we get a reward or benefits for doing this treacherous labor?
Megabird: the spirits will give you their clothing out of gratitude.
skykids: ...
I'm afraid your translator is making your question hard to understand 😅
did not expect that emoji to be so big, whoops
me: fine I'll accept your sad1stic quest as my reward
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
:)
My English is not very good.
I ONLY KNOW ABOUT IT FROM SABERSPARK DO YOU THINK I CAN ACTUALLY RENT AND WATCH IT
its on Netflix
9, coraline, klaus, and a few others are absolutely worth the netflix trial
YEAHHHHHH
AND HILDA
stealing coffee makers
Yeah and inside job, kipo, she-ra, etc. 💀
OMG OFC YES
I understand. Were you asking for game advice, or for help understanding the story ?
Ohhh I watch Saberspark too
Ohhhh man these ruins are frustrating to decipher. Here’s my “watchtower” although it’s hard to tell if it actually is one or one of the walls’ corners. I also don’t recognize the things in the second picture; I checked and they’re a different shape than the pillars holding up the fortress
Hey guys I have a question, do Skykids have diseases?l mean is it possible that they can get infected by a disease?
probably corrupted by darkness, but diseases? Maybe no, afaik we're being of light and we have no confirmation on biological makeup aside of that
WHAT
Today we suffer lore chat

:)
LETS DO IIIIIIT
@compact shale ready to go drown?
we ride at mid (reset)
Good question.
@tulip aspen best of luck guys you are going to have a hard time swimming
WAIT A MINUTE
DIDNT WE SAY WE WOULD SACRIFICE VELA
For why skids shows bubbles:
Been lurking in lorechat for a while, some brought up skids are basically flame light, therefore making bubbles from boiled water. They need air because well flames need air, but i don't know really
nahh, im good at things
---will lose at least 20 wl in the next week
I’m not afraid of the deep water or the scary monsters. What I am afraid of is getting distracted by small lore details and then drowning because I was a second too late to get to the surface
@keen shore do not worry you will not get drown.
Pros of reset being too late to stay up for it: I get a good night sleep & skip the server crashes that happen because everyone logs on at reset
reset for me is 3am. can't wait to wake up and watch this channel implode
it's 3PM for me, timezone is sometimes a blessing and a curse
9am for me. I could get a normal schedule and wake up at a reasonable time but lbr,,,
For me it's 1PM
It’s 3am for me as well if I’m doing math right. I can stay up until midnight but it’s too early to be awake then
You said you'd sacrifice yourself to get the lore resources for everyone.
Pay me
Also I said I would sacrifice my winged light, which I will, I just prefer to stay a simulacrum of diurnal 😛
i think lore chat should unionize
So true bestie 💅
Yo im gonna pull a skybot and say.
Go to sleep. Season will be there tomorrow. Go bed lil punks go bed. Im gonna snzzzz
the words, what do they m e a n
Isn’t it already unified?
debatable
Merry crisis
U’re too late
it was for the lore bible debacle
there's always a crisis in lore chat
Qhdhdbendnwnifyeben
Oh, luckily someone has “agreed” to fund it
Fellow lore chat people, it’s almost time
Who’s ready for some adventure on the high seas, and in the deep seas?!
y e s
Pls screen share it since my phone’s memory is unable to uhh handle Sky kekw
Oh nvm
RIP
nvm my phone (somehow) downloaded Sky
(Which is weird since it has genshin, cookie run)
Nicee
Your phone told you to play the new season 💀
ohhhooo I’m so excited for the next season (-,: reset in 30 mins right?
!seasonwhentellmebruh
I can sea it now. We must be only 30 minutes away!
not to be a pessimist, but 20 min until some of our headcanons are under serious threat
we either adapt them or change them entirely
stay strong
5 more minutes, i can smell suffering in the horizon
SALT
Wow i'm spoiled 💀
1 more min
i'm quite a new player around here and uh, this is my first season. Should I join immediately when it starts or should i hold back because server crashes?
ITS HERE
@stable veldt try to join, if it crashes then wait a bit

So the skylid absorbed the manta to learn how to dive?
Y’all are going there already but I have to wait for my friends 😭
Lore
oh boy we’re gonna have a feast
Was it a flooded mine? There seem to be mine carts in the area
Space manta hybird 5ing
is that a power diamond factory?
So its confirmed abt the manta and diamonds then?
Hmm, mantas in cages?
Ye lmao
right cracks knuckles
what’s the verdict on you-know-what
Im so happy the juice theory is correct
don't know. don't wanna try yet. still jittery.
👀 wake up new light creature dropped
Lmao
Having a good time, Jam?
Lobsters and baby whales!
HUEHEUEHEUEHEYEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHE
can we talk about the first part of this or
SUBANUTICA 2.0 LETS GOOO
LEVIATHAN WORM-KRILL???
Isnt this one of those gondola things from village of dreams
Ig so, I mean its a diamond factory so it produces ddiamond-related things???
ok
so what explains the diving
Consume the manta to dive, seems logical
/j
right
how do we justify this
Manta like becomes particles, fusing with us
magical skykid transformation
become amphibious
I HAVE NOT PRAYED TO THE MANTA YET AHAHAHAA
Secret tunnel ehe
ARGH.
it vaguely reminds me of Hollow Knight tbh
Please do not harm the merchandise.
Small theory about how treasure reef got flooded before we learn more about it
When eden explosion happened, it caused a tsunami that was sent to the treasure reef and flooded the area
I think that’s what happened
ok uh
i’m a bit sad about the manta thing
makes little sense with my current skykid headcanons
but tbh it feels like Hollow Knight so it makes sense
Trying to get a good shot
so what are the cages made of?
JOURNEY!?
king krill?
It looks like the wall from last season that would prevent us from accessing the other wind paths
While some believe the place might be a dark stone query, i think according from the murals it looks more like a light creature research lab, in short, it may be one of the first "buildings" that the spirits made to research about the usages of dark stone before putting it on everything
my friend suggest they could be using mantas as batteries for omething
But for... what?
MANTA JU-
NO
YES
NO I MEAN WHAT ARE THE MANTA POWER CELLS POWERING
probably the entire lab or some city, using it for some dark stone query or the research
I'm pretty sure there's a time where the spirits haven't use dark stone yet, in which they would capture light creatures as some sort of a power plant while that. With the discovery of darkstone, they slowly shift to that
Found their message
the caged mantas... I haven’t done any of the quests yet but... the light harvesting cages underwater? )-:
I don’t think they were making dark diamonds either, I think they caged the mantas as a way to store oxygen so they could continue mining underwater
Oh my god
Using mantas as oxygen givers is still messed up tho
My skykid is just chilling underwater as I skim through lorechat lol
still... the krill in anxious memory? looked very small (maybe just to fit in frame?) I’ve seen every light creature in sky except for jellyfish underwater
in the memory there’s a krill in the water, but I haven’t seen one in game yet, maybe the giant one at the very bottom? I’m too scared to go there yet though.
I like that we get to see the weapon technology being made, the harpoon gun is super interesting and I wonder if you can find them in other places in gw too? or just exclusive to the new season
Anyways! I’m going to go do the quest now
Gun
come to think of it, why do they have harpoons in the first place? To hunt krills? And harpoons are usually associated with water animals
not sure if the cosmetics have changed much since this was taken during beta, but I find it super interesting that there’s dark stone technology within the masks?
Harpoons might be there to gather resources like fish, in anxious memory they were looking for fish
but we also do see in a krill in their memory as well...
HELL YEAH NOW I CAN SAY MY THEORY
Wait this means they eat, obviously before their deaths but still
Also... where did u find this mural OWO
Gun ? Darkstone ? New island that used to be inhabited but became an area to explore for these scavengers (looters in french btw) ?
I think some ancestors may have survived the Eden disaster, but had to live in the ruins of their world until they too died off.
Also gun. Dude they had guns. Technology close enough to our 15th century ? Wild.
mhm I feel like it would make sense for it to be placed post eden disaster, there are krill? And dark stone technology as well as buildings, but I’d have to wait for the rest of the season to unfold to make any super major conclusions about where the season would fit in the timeline
I think it’s the giant creature that’s in another mural as well
We're all still figuring stuff out, don't expect essays an hour and a half in the season 😂
From this area
The giant creature at the very bottom I think... I haven’t gone there yet because SCARY
the place could have been abandoned at any point of time.... the place could have been abandoned and people would have thought to loot the area for goodies
just like how people irl would go to abandoned things (like a beached cruise ship for example) just to steal things
OMG what I have the larnten IOOHHH time to go to the deep dark...
Oh yeah, tons of diving looters in that one Italian ship that sunk. Irl it's disrespectful but in Sky it's funny to think of spirit criminals doing spirit crimes and risking spirit jail
They're also doing the equivalent of looting what looks like either a mine, a lab or nuclear waste, which is a real bad idea without the proper gear... the crew shares a braincell canon
Ok so I think there’s a invisible barrier? At least my friend couldn’t go any further down
Areas like these are usually guarded for this specific reason, so if they managed to get it, it means the mainland was at least too distracted to notice them going there and looting.
MURALS
THIS WAS A DIAMOND PRODUCTION FACTORY/ LIGHT CREATURE FARM
I feel like by the time our pirates got here, the previous people in this area who were mining or whatever had already left
Well scavenging does mean looking for leftovers or anything that left so definitely
ah heyo
i want and had a thought about krill and the ||Leviathan(aka big krill)||, so i don’t remember where but i head/saw theories about how they were man made. okay know if you seen and remember something from jurassic Park [sadly i don’t remembered which one] some one said they they are evolving so what if krill are the same
so meaning krill can well…have smol bebe krills
the murals have people inside the tower, it was probably drained from water while they were working and flooded after it being left behind...
Unless they really were harvesting light creatures for air
my theory is that an attack happened on the area causing the entire place to flood, and the people there evacuated and the scavengers took the chance to sneak in but they didn't know the importance of the area and the dark secrets it held.... they just wanted to steal the diamonds
I’m totally not overthinking this and how this can be giving a big freak you to the king hmmmm nooooo that would be dumbbbb
Cuz they didn’t have to draw the target a diamond
I like to think it was a diamond production factory and a light creature farm to gather i their light essence to make it possible to power said diamonds
We’ve seen light creature farming in action with the laugh emote form prarie, and forest elder holding tons of manta in their temple
And we NEED light to power diamonds sooooo
must be a power diamond manufacture unit, the giant tower
one things for sure i don't think they left on purpose, everything seems to be halted so suddenly, the minecarts are still filled with stone, along with some barges
there is a power diamond symbol, I think whatever happened, the power diamond creation awoke the krill
Disturbed the krills beauty sleep
Sucks the manta got stuck behind, wish we could save them somehow
True, guess time will tell what happens to their fate
Are you having a good time?
The king? 😳
Or they yknow…
its a tower
Wonder what the kings doing here though... tbh king theories confuse me so idk ANYTHING
A King tower
well anyway what if ||leviathan|| is somehow related krill and krill and just jr. and big boi is senior, mean that krills can get big. all aide this picture i have shown is ||leviathan|| inside on its mouth, when i looked at it i seen are teeth, so i want to bring this up what if ||leviathan|| is a carnivore
that means bringing this up again, if ||leviathan|| IS CLOSELY related to krill that means krill are carnivores
but wait there is more
I haven't explored thoroughly yet but I can definitely see some similarities with the king's silhouette and that tower symbol
I’m still stuck on this: I do feel like this was directed at the Reah, like why… draw the symbol as a diamond???? Not a circle??? Unless it’s just them using the king as target practice to release some pent up anger towards Resh, who would probably be not a good ruler if they hated him so much to use him as target practice
Or I’m overthinking
Hes there cause the people that operate the factory like him
We will never escape properganda
Imo targets just looked like that
Ahhhh I’m overthinking this theory then
if that’s the case
Probably is
now i go to graveyard, what is there? krill. but what is also there….? bones, a lot meaning krills must have eaten whatever creature it was because where are there so many in one area?

Will say, I remember tgc saying that they had a plan for to show how uncorrupted krill looked like, so I feel like maybe... the new guy.... could be it?
It didn’t click for me that krill in sky are carnivores after reading this theory…. I do not like it
The average krills are smaller compared to that so maybe it was eaten by something else
If the krill come from the creatures underwater, does that mean that there used to be oceans in gw?
I mean, remember (u can get diamonds from light creatures so uh, prolly the ancestors yknow did that to get diamonds then krill came)
Yea, it has access to large bodies of water afterall
true but there is the off chance that krills are scavengers closely acting like sharks
It’s just all corrupted water?
Could it be the sanctuary large large manta fish :0
So I found this while looking for megalodon, any lore to this?
Map
True, but there had to have been a time when it wasnt corrupted
more could be revealed in the next quests! Tried swimming all the way down and there was a barrier
yeyeye i agree, the whale or maybe the fish we see in both forest and beginning of wasteland
Worm Leviathan ehe
(ahha subnautica reference)
Diamond factory
I think they are extracting light from creatures to make dark stone/ diamond technology
There could be a big krill like creature deep under the main tower, it looks like a sacrifice ritual to me, but idk it's just me guessing and that might be too dark for sky
I mean... there are 2 manta cages

It looks kinda like a temple where maybe the megalodon lives under?
Does anyone remember if the small krill-like creature in the abyss spirit cutscene was white or black??
I wonder if this ocean area was man made though... quarries whenever built tend to make man made dams of water for their resources
White I think, but thats most likely because it was a memory (oh wait no it was black in the cutscene)
The krill was black in the cutscenes! It’s just lighter during the memory fragments but I wouldn’t count that in for lore just a design choice for the memory fragment shards
Does anyone remember if the small krill-like creature in the abyss spirit cutscene was white or black??
@grave glen it was just spirit coloured, so it’s uncertain if it means anything it was probably just a krill
There's a stone painting that shows it's man-made I think! The one on land
There's a stone painting that shows it's man-made I think! The one on land
@grave glen near two of the spirits theres a mural above land showing them with pickaxes and bringing crystals to the big tower i think
In one of the spirit cutscene there’s one holding a crystal sort of(?) might be dark stone?
Ahhh thanks that's what I was looking for haha, cuz of the memory fragments my own memory is confusing me lolll
to me it looks more like they’re studying? light creatures in some way
after all those are scholars in the mural
I feel like, the island might be entirely manmade, at the the underwater areas, just like how a quarrie would work
You need lots of water anyways for whatever they use quarries for
I mean, the caves could be sign that it might have been natural? But we won’t know unless we get a some lore treaties from ash and somebody asks
Can we talk about whether sky kids have organs or not
I mean considering that they need oxygen, they might have lungs
Well, fire needs oxygen so we're probably getting gradually extinguished...
and if water pressure affects us too, that's double suffering
Ooh I like this theory
lore gods i have a question as your average sky player
I agree
do the krills dislike mantas or is it just that one manta in wasteland?
Krill probably wanted to eat the light of that manta. Here's a MOTD about what krill do.
Apparently the krill are corrupted light creatures. But we don't know what they used to be. Maybe they devour light to try and purify themselves but it always fails...?
so theres a manta in wasteland that's just, chillin bc he's got no light
Damn Fruity is a lore god I never knew
UM NO IM JUST A REGULAR ARCHIVIST WHO HASN'T PRAYED TO MEGABIRD YET-
#JusticeForMantas
Wait it's conversion???? I thought those are offerings to the dragon underneath
Hey so off of this mural, they still seem to be mining crystals, so do we think they use the mantas to convert into crystals also??? Or just power them like how we have to use light to power the crystals in game as well, maybe the conversion table is how many crystals each creature type can power at once?
Dark stone mines?
Dark stone mines?
@neat flint cuz we all know how well those turn out :D
That looks like a side cut view of the mine.
I wonder if the sea creatures can swim under the island like in the mural, if the island is possibly a floating island?
Because if so, then I can theorise that the mining operation took so much dark stone, that the island could no longer float on the water surface and sank.
Or maybe it could be a temple? Because I looked at the surroundings and looked at the mural and they looked pretty similar to one another
The manta could be there to show the creatures are tying to find a path through the wasteland and the krill will pick them off. So, that one you see get krilled is there for story telling context.
Perhaps, I like the idea.
Maybe the later quests will let us explore the deeper sections.
There is a big door down there somewhere and there are gates that hold creatures and lead to more passage ways.
probably is, but also i really wanna doodle a manta gesturing to a krill which is like 10x it's size and going "this is my wife!"
oof, XD
Skitty x Wailord
Image 1: mantas are brought into the Chambers in what seems like trays/trolleys. The elders in each level seem to pose like they are offering something? And possibly the one in the bottom is an elevator (like in colosseum) used to go up and down the Chambers. May be they were feeding the large worm ElderKrill
Image2: water level in mural shows before flooding. Currently water level is where the green line is. We can see mantas were herded then possibly kept in columns filled with water(blue) and then we have 2 buttons in each column - juicing controls?
So they had a research lab and mining operation... Something like chernobyl happened I guess
would the praying figure represent intellectual ancestors?
AS in, it does not necessary mean they were praying, but instead were doing something else? It is a bit odd to only see praying intellectual ancestors and hardly any of them doing something else. All while the normal looking spirits ( I assume are workers) are seen in various poses (bending over, holding something, praising, running etc.).
Thr painter was prolly paid less and didn't do a good job or representing all actions properly 🤣
These 3 guys outside herding the mantas have something in their hand... A remote control? Something to lure mantas?
candles? o.o
wait, are those candles?
I don think there ever were candles in a mural before.
bells/candles.
Either way, neither one was ever shown in a mural before (to the best of my knowledge)
My quarrie theory I think is also supported by one of the murals, we see a staircase but the area isn’t flooded, there are stairs in game and minecarts, I think the water level was very low,
There are stairs and a giant building too, in order for that to have been accessible to had to be above ground
this is my take:
The area has multiple purposes.
- Mining and processing ores into diamonds
- Light creature farm/research lab
- Manufacturing power diamonds using light creatures; hence the different buildings in one area
I agree with the opinion that the timeline of the season is set after the flood. And I don't think the miners, scientists etc. even realized that there was a leviathan underneath the main factory. I noticed when trying to swim deeper to where the giant krill might be, that the floor seemed to have been broken, as if something huge charged through it. Maybe the leviathan did that, and caused the whole place to flood. Maybe it wanted to avenge its friends trapped by human hands.
Another theory that i have, (if the mural is not actually a conversion table), that they experimented on the light creatures to get bigger. Bigger means more light power. And one ended up becoming the leviathan, which is why they built the lowest floor.. to observe the leviathan. And to find the best way to use its light to power up diamonds. Kind of like the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World. Humans tampered with something they THINK they understand, only to end up facing the dire consequences.
lmao i just watched the trailer and it basically spoils quite some stuff about quests later on
they made a trailer? I thought they only had a teaser which was posted on their Instagram?
the one in news, idk if it's the one on instagram tho
it's released AFTER the season release
mhm I’ll go check it out!
Yeah
Also, I like to think that maybe we are taught to dive by absorbing the mantas memory?
I mean... I don’t think we were eating it lmao this is probably very obvious
Who thinks we're eating it?
Maybe the hungry krill in gw
tsk tsk
Megabird sends blessings in the form of manta /j
Or maybe we got a fragment of the manta's essence
we're part manta now we can now enter water
The spirit manta may the first spirit animal to officially exist in Sky. In light awaits, there were other spirit creatures that would bestow blessings.
Perhaps, instead of absorbing it, us skykids are given a blessing and now able to dive under the water in the same way most mantas can.
I wonder if any of the underwater creatures share any sort of biological differences then the ones that aren’t underwater
noooo why is all the fun discussion going on while I can’t
can we talk about this again later
I haven’t seen any of the manta in the new area rise to the surface, and all the manta in every other realm don’t touch the water rather using clouds to regain enegry maybe?
I really like this idea as season pass, the skykids slowly become stronger and learn new abilities.
It feels natural from a gameplay perspective as this shows character progression.
Any moth that joins the game now, may not be able to do the things an avid skykid can. But they can easily catch up by simply playing the game.
The seasons that I feel empower the skykid thus far are the following:
Enchantment - Access to spells aside from spirits and events.
Prophecy - If you try to do a trail out of order, a message appears that says your skykid is not strong enough. Meaning, the trails make the skykids stronger, even though the gameplay does not change much.
Assembly - Able to interact with spirits more (high-five, hug, etc.)
Little Prince - Introducing meta knowledge, where parrallels can be drawn between Sky and outside media, and have the Little Prince act as the linchpin to support it.
Flight - Take part in the spirit's stories, allowing skykids and spirits to form a stronger connection to the lore (again, not gameplay changing, but character development)
Abyss - Where the skykid gains a new ability that affects the gameplay in a major way.
Questions I’d love to have a solid answer to so far:
Are underwater and sky manta different species? / have different biology
Is the new area entirely manmade like a quarry/ why did the water level rise?
New season set before the collapse of golden wasteland/ eden or set during the discovery of dark diamond technology
You can, the discussion will never end, and older topics can always be brought back up.
Especially since this channel gets new members, which means the lore here is always going in a loop.
Messages will still be here when you come back! But if you need a recap on anything you think you missed feel free to pm me!!! <333
The mantas in sanctuary all come out of the water tbh
If you guys were to draw a map of where the new Abyss area is, where would you place the new area? I'm a bit puzzled since it's said that a bunch of scavengers found land that's "near" GW. Yet, GW has dark water for miles on end yet the new area has perfectly fine water
This is just one skykid's opinion, though I promise to stay objective here (meaning, I dont give bias and assumptions, unless they are stated as such).
The mantas in the Abyss area do look a bit different to the day and cosmic versions. That and I have not seen any rise out of the water, yet. So that might be easier to answer later on, as the season progresses.
The islands do have a lot of manmade structures, and little to no natural terrain. So, it is likely a mine, and possibly a place to observe the creatures closely.
As established in the rest of the game, the skykids are set in the present, the spirit memories are based (or at least adapted) from the past, and the future is uncertain until the skykids and spirits work together. So, the season are is currently sunken into the sea. While in the past, it used to be high and dry.
What contradicts the 'spirits are set in the past' statement is how the latest season have spirits that seem to be living in a time that is pretty close to the present. Such as these spirits are reacting and actively working with the skykids. As if they are presently alive.
Perhaps the time of the abyss spirits are the most recent, or there is something else at work here that allows the spirits to somehow keep 'living.'
Lmao they do, well guess I’m blind
Beta used to have the dock in the shipwreck area; if you look from there, you will see islands on the horizon
I would place it due east of the general area (using the temple as due north, as a reference). If not a bit more to the south, since the water is not polutted.
I like to think this season has spirits that survived the eden cataclysm or lived very soon before it
I feel like it would still be in the gw and valley region as the buildings are similar and it’s shown through murals that they have technology
Questions I’d love to have a solid answer to so far:
Are underwater and sky manta different species? / have different biology
Is the new area entirely manmade like a quarry/ why did the water level rise?
New season set before the collapse of golden wasteland/ eden or set during the discovery of dark diamond technology
@tidal valve
We’ve seen the whale from sanctuary island go above and below water, so it could be assumed all light creatures can do so, but maybe just to lesser or greater extents? (Hence skykids needing a blessing or something to dive and still not be able to do it without air)
Place seems to have been mined for crystals in some places, so at least some of it has been mined out, but i mean it still appears to be a natural archipelago
Timeline is probably set after, the crew is scavenging broken remains of the civilisation alongside you for said diamonds
I'm fed and rested, will go dive back into the depth. Wish me luck, I might lose wedges
The crystals in Abyss though. Could they be the darkstone that Ancestors used for their technology? Or at least an ingredient for the said stone
I think soo.. in the quest we get our stone from a pedestal inside a temple, those pedestals are seen in valley collesium which is filled with diamond technology
the gold trim does help make your case 👍
Your sacrifice is noble.
I haven't done the quests yet but I'm very excited to see this

They could be the raw material at the least.
Based on concept art, there was a refinery, so the dark stone might not have been always this potent.
I think soo.. in the quest we get our stone from a pedestal inside a temple, those pedestals are seen in valley collesium which is filled with diamond technology
@tidal valve have we seen raw crystals outside of one of the spirits to confirm what colour they are?
I still like to think maybe manta have evolved over time, and maybe certain realms of sky have different light creatures, bc speciation and separation can make a species become 2 seperate ones
Wow my English is terrible
there are shards in ||Eden||.
Some are red and can deal damage, and in one place, they could be blue and deal no damage.
Thy are blue! you can see them in the cutscenes, and it seems each of the spirits wear a diamond on their cape and their hair!
there are shards in ||Eden||.
Some are red and can deal damage, and in one place, they could be blue and deal no damage.
@nimble ingot my shaky knowledge was that red ones are unrefined and blue are refined and able to be used as power and ornaments safely,
what im talking about is in the abyss we see the spirit that climbs the tower is picking clearly uncut gems, but because it was a spirit memory I couldn’t be sure what colour they were intended to be,
so has anyone seen either red crystals in abyss, or unrefined/uncut looking blue ones anywhere?
Perhaps there is a connection with their diamond accessories to the diamond symbols of the shields in the battlefield of GW?

Maybe diamonds are considered as some sort of nationalistic symbol of the people who reside in GW so the fighters put them in their shields while the shields with the sun symbol represent fighters from Eden, the supposed most advanced city of Sky? Not to mention that The King/The Prince most likely resided there hence why Eden's "nationalistic symbol" is the Sun since The King/The Prince is always drawn with a sun-halo
Maybe! But i think the diamond symbols relate to some status symbol
Sorry if I digressed too far from the Abyss lore, I just wanted to share my theory
Mural upclose (converted to B/W for better visibility)

@floral grove ooh yeah i keep hearing about this king guy, i know that he’s supposed to be the one who built valley of triumph and stuff but what specific lore things about him does anyone here know of?
I heard one time that he's the one responsible for the destruction of the kingdom (him building the red diamond in EoE that went crazy). I also read from a tumblr post that he apparently went to war with the other Elders because of their incessant usage of Darkstone (ultimately, the creation of the red diamond) that wiped the entire kingdom out
Yes this! It helps differeate the different working classes
Labour (bell makers in prarie)
Warriors (soilder in gw)
Knowledge (vault priests!)
They all carry diamond like symbols that change depending on their jobs
Unrefined ones are there as you enter the underwater cave after getting manta juice power to dive
I think the manta gave a part of its essence to us. We're part manta now loolololol.
Man I'm getting serious goosebumps from all the lore. That's how good the game's lore is
There are also unrefined ones near that cave with abandoned mine trolley 🛒
The boat upclose
Ok so is there a difference between red stones and darkstones, do we know where they come from? Or how they are made exactly?
Don’t we see a statue like this in the beginning where we meditate to receive the mantas diving blessing?
And I also realised that this statue is also found in scantuary islands
Whale tail.
Oh it's a scrapped design of the king looking statue in the reef
Don’t we see a statue like this in the beginning where we meditate to receive the mantas diving blessing?
And I also realised that this statue is also found in scantuary islands
@tidal valve yes, a group of three of them, the mantas seem to like them honestly, in one of the sanctuary quests dont three biggish mantas come round and circle those statues and hang out there from then on?
Perhaps Redstone is Darkstone that contains too much impurities. I would say that the impurities in question are Dark Dust but that wouldn't make sense in my opinion as Dark Dust most likely came from Redstone itself
The crystal looks like the crystals on the frozen statue near the end of eden
Dark stones are thought to be harvested from mining maybe!
Some little edivencr says maybe from cutting the trees in forest
Then power diamonds are thought to be made from dark stone/ harvested light creature
A clearer version since discord seems to compress and we lose details
Dark stones are thought to be harvested from mining maybe!

@tidal valve ty all for educating me so much im newso i guess one last thing im caught up on is darkstones? Ive just never heard the term before, where is one?
Mostly concept art! I don’t think we really fully see a darkstone in-game maybe the red ones in eden?
I thought darkstones are the glowing stones found in floating ships? The same ones that we light with a candle to power the boats in Village of Dreams
Sorta offtopic but I like to think that those stones are just very powerful magnets on steroids
Wow this really looks like a quarry
I like to think of those more as diamond technology? I feel like darkstones are the ones they harvested that don’t have accessible power but when light in put inside them they become useable technology?

Wait what’s the last photo?
My brightness is on LOW
The unsaved statue in eden
Ugh that diagram looks so much like those blast furnaces
But instead of metals it has.. mantas
Mostly concept art! I don’t think we really fully see a darkstone in-game maybe the red ones in eden?
@tidal valve ok ok got it, so as i can gather-
- Blue stones, or power gems, used to power doors, boats, what have you, are mined (as we can see from this new season! As well as the light miner spirit) and refined to be used or placed in clothing
- Darkstones and redstones, possibly the same thing? Possibly one is refined into the other? Are also mined and used for (unknown purpose?)
Either way somewhere along these refining processes, or maybe just general handling of dark/redstones,
darkness water is produced, which corrupts light creatures into dark creatures
That’s just how I think of it! Obviously everything is up for interpretation and if you have another or seperate theory that’s totally valid!
Batteries? I can definitely see that. Now I like to think that solar-powered machinery is our real-world equivalent to Darkstone
The unsaved statue in eden
@neat flint oh! So perhaps blue crystals are preserved light that has been frozen into crystal form by the death of the original light creature?
Every time we light a blue gem was it once a manta or whale that died either at eden or by the civilisations hands,
this explains why their power is activated by using a skykids light, and why creatures are possibly held and used as both activation switches and sources of crystals themselves, and why these crystals are found everywhere underground,
as statues of dead light creatures are ground into dust from the eden storm and form the mountain over time
There are batteries in forest concept art and in-game, you can see them in forest temple! The diamond revolver type things that attach to the doors and turn gold? Or blue when you open them
uwu time for the sneep snorp, tomorrow I have to do online legal paperwork )-:
uwu time for the sneep snorp, tomorrow I have to do online legal paperwork )-:
@tidal valve oh noes :( have good sneep snorp
power diamond factory mine hypeee
Seeing the size of the power diamonds given in the quest & their ubiquitous appearance in a vaguely pirate setting... I think the smaller diamonds were used as currency.
that would make a lot of sense tbh
Oh my goodness... well, it's the best we've got!
How's everyone, Vela? Do you need something to cure your suffering?
I'm fine, biggest trouble is orienting myself to light stuff up. Seems there's a barrier to prevent you from going too deep, so now I'm chilling by light algae after exploring shallower depth. Nothing not mentioned in this chat I'm afraid, got some pics of the bottom (rocks, that's it) and that's about what I got to offer.
Thank you dayoooo! :D

That’s a big scratch
could be mr leviathan
Heavily edited image
Possibly long after the technology was mostly forgotten... Scavengers got good money flipping smaller crystals to the last of the forgers/smiths who could still use the diamonds? 🤔
Lets goooo worm leviathan
May be... Or may be they just exist and get attracted to light... May be the experiments with manta attracted many dark creatures... Including the the large Elder worm
So they had no other go but to feed it to keep it calm? When they ran out of mantas they fleed the place sealing it with water?
Does anyone have a timeline of the seasons with Abyss in it? I'm talking about the chronological order of the seasons lore-wise, not by their release dates
How did you get these? 👀
Took close up pics (used fall asleep emote to fall into the wall then use one handed mode to zoom in). Then cleaned up image in edit
Dude, that is excellent work!
🤝
I don't think there's a tgc approved timeline for the seasons actually, unless you're asking what others think?
Thank you so much!
||you're an archivist, Nomad!||
Abyss was prolly near the fall kekw
I was asking for people's theories. TGC approving lore stuff seem very unlikely
they rarely directly approve, though sometimes Ash comes in...
The murals keep telling me that this isn't the only season area
Ash our saviour 🙏
The fact that there's an ominous hole in the ground supports the idea that we're gonna have to go deeper
take the shovel
I think it is long after the fall. Given the time it took for water level to raise
Also assuming that the murals are accurate, the whole thing is built like a tower underwater, and we just scratched the surface
Does The Fall refer to the falling of stars or the fall of the kingdom?
Falling of entire civilization
Interesting. I've always thought that by the time the civilization fell, the Ancestors all went extinct. For there to be survivors despite The Fall sounds like a game changer for the lore
Detailed view of the top area of the lighouse
The blockage is opened 😳
Enchantment may have been survivors, though we're not sure.
oh hallo Flour, how’s being a dough
I think there is general consensus that there were multiple civilization that came.. And current sky kids are one of the newer ones.
Good hbu
its good, just lost one WL because of the damn manta cage ^^
Now that I think about it, it does make sense. A lot of the Seasonal Spirits have very distinct clothing. Clothing often reflects culture and culture exist within civilizations
idk if it's true or not but from what i know there are humans (now spirits) and sky kids
sky kids are (most likely) non organic life forms, hence why you see them crack in eden or why when they loose all light they turn grey, the hair and other things are illusions of sorts
Have you ever thought about it cronologically? I think it would be hard for all these civilizations to exist at the same time. I believe that the default spirits were first (which is supported by how the Daylight Prarie has ship builders, which could have moved in with the later seasons).
Honestly, no
. I don't know most of the past seasons very well except for Dreams and Flight which is why I'm wondering if someone has put the seasons in order in case there are connections to each season's stories
I hope at some point TGC gives more weight to lore... They could make our actions in a seasonal area affect other areas around the Sky world. Like restoring tunnels in flight path should have actually decreased the darkness and presence of more light creatures in Ark since we supposedly fixed a block in the plumbing system of winds across realms
That way they open up a lot of story arcs and possibly move towards a united story that applies across sky. Rather than bits and pieces of puzzles that in the name of being "open to interpretation" is mostly vague
was it just me who just had a very horrible feeling the moment the gate opened for the first quest?? i feel like we're going to keep on going deeper and getting more stones, unlocking more doors, and.. idk i feel like we might open a gate that should not be opened
I've glitched oob and can tell you you're 100% right
Usually people put pictorial warning for future generations to not do something... May be we will end up doing the exact thing they are trying to say in the murals
good thing mr leviathan passive :)
for now at least...
If we had access to Sky files or assets the first thing I wanna do is compare sizes of the whale to the leviathan. Wanna see if they can square up to a underwater kaiju battle
TGC tries to refrain from giving direct lore, they like to setup the world so that we sort of figure out our own stories for how the world works
I think it is also their excuse not to hire a proper writer I guess... I mean you can have stories open to interpretation... But keeping it too vague is frustrating(my opinion).
There's also a regular krill down there btw
Thought this big guy is very scary-
This deepWorm seems longer than whale in eden. But roughly same size(diameter?) as it
They definitely have writers who plan out the seasons considering how well put together the voiceless spirit stories are. Every character has a roll in the larger picture. Its a good way to make people more attatched to the story since you have to pay attention to the details if you want to figure it out
Question: why would something so deep underwater have so many small eyes?
To be viscerally terrifying
True. Irl sea animals would usually need big eyes in the deep parts of the sea
unless it's not natural
Tho the leviathan looks like it has eyes all over the top of its head, like its looking up
Pray-like-animals (those hunted by preditors) typically have eyes on the sides of their head. In deep water it could be useful to see more area. However, since they are on the top of it's head, it most likely hunts from deep below and rockets up to the surface
considering the first mural we get about the leviathan is it jumping out of the water, like a shark, that's prob the case
He is full from eating all the rest of the people who are not there
I'm not sure they have a dedicated writer. Unless you force logic and bend logic a lot and accept holes here and there... A lot is not coherent if you see them in detail.. At a very very high level it all seems coherent. I think for character design and other stuff they only need a vague story and vague conformity to world building I think.
Also it's weird that the leviathan of all things has mass. Unlike the krills which are just pitch black, this thing has a physical body and has shadows. If it's related to the krill then it should prob be made of darkness too right?
probably, but that also means it's not 100% a creature of darkness
The leviathan, idk if this is intentional, has a hitbox. You can actually touch it. It's got mass
Since we also have krills underwater... May be the deepWorm chose to swim in the depths for some reason
Well at least we know how the spirits died
Well krills are capable of swimming, as seen in the first krill appearances when they swim out of the goop
Now that Season of Abyss has started I can now legally ask what these murals are.
I say they are warnings for future generations to not repeat what caused a catastrophe in that area
Kinda contrasts with the whale, its light counterpart, who can fly
it's probably depictions on what each location functions as, the first one served as mineshaft for example
Second one looks like a container for mantas or a manta blender
What's the use of depicting it? Usually it will be knowledge that should not be lost so that either someone benefits from it or is warned by it
I think that the king krill is passive because we're just too insignificant for it to care. If I was massive and I wanted light I wouldn't go for a tiny speck I can barely see.
Little does it know I have 150+ shiny light fragments in me
The first cave mural, broken light house with scratch marks all point to a violent past. Possibly by Mr DarkWorm. Let's see how the story plays out.
My wife noticed it looks like the last mural it looks like they offer the creatures of light to the krill. And the krill make something they stack on the right. We also swam around and noticed some mantas trapped in well like cage things.
that big boi down below doesnt have claws does it? if so that makes it 10x more scary bc what caused this 😳
We haven't yet seen a proper flying creature like a dark bird 🐦... It would be awesome to see one
yeah! it seems like something big with talons or claws so that'd be a cool thing to see in future quests or seasons maybe 👀
the light creatures trapped in the air columns were pretty interesting.
but i ran out of air checking it out :/
Looks like we just... SCRATCHED the surface
from that first mural posted, it looks like they're mining ores/gems maybe, and transporting it to the lighthouse, so maybe whatever it is didn't like that or wanted it for itself
That's what I thought. There's also two buildings on the left, and whaddya know they look just like the ones that spirit used as it's harpoon range.
The new season cave drawings added a lot of ideas to what the civilization had, one drawing seems to be a temple of sorts…?
I think, they offered these gems and mantas to somethong because the one dreaming seems to imply that. It’s very odd to see mantas in some containment room and a lot of the people on said drawings are praying 🤔
HELLO I hope you're full of theories because I am
I did a chibi fall in the big tower to inspect what was going on and ended up drowning to get these pics but I regret nothing
If the first picture is a mechanism (it looks like one), what paper does that giant black thing play on it?
Where can you find that? :o
My guess is that there used to be an underwater civilization, or at least one that was in a valley.
They were going ham at the resources, as you could see in the murals. Another of my educated guesses is that they exploited nature to such a degree they built like an underground lab to cage in and study species from the area.
Not sure though if it looks as if the flood was caused by them, by the explosion of the Eden Eye or by something else
In the highest tower, chibi fall to enter, then swim down through all the areas until reaching the lowest point, and there's kind of an OOB that allows you to get out and see that thing
Hard to explain but it's neat. Careful with the drowning tho
Ohhhh
I love how we, Skykids technically made of stone and light, can drown.
if you want my thoughts, it seems like there might have been 2 groups here, the current treasure hunters, after the flood, and the previous civilization (which seems to have not been flooded originally since why build stairs and what looks like what used to be an elevator then?)
yeah, just found a mural that suggets the water level was lower.
Kinda solidifies the fact that the spirits may have returned after fleeing the fall of Sky, huh?
Kind of like to check for survivors or anything salvageable?
It’s the Lore channel; I love to talk about the lore with others! So of course I value anyone’s thoughts 😄
But yeah, it seems this entire season is going to focus on like… Indiana Jones’ing the ruins of the Atlantis-like civilization
like this is a mine and the far right is waves, or water, but every spot with ore now is flooded.
Hmmm… you think the Diamond exploding might’ve caused it?
As in debris fell into the ocean and created a tsunami? Or the explosion itself made an earthquake?
possibly but the crystals we pick up in the first quest look the same as the ones you light up in other realms (like hidden forest), so I'm not sure if they're that unstable :/
No but i mean the Eye of Eden. The Big Boi ™ that the King was using
oops, haha, sorry, I'm not that caught up on all the lore yet. I'm just looking in the abyss area.
Harpoons are in sky now. Hmm
memory krill
wait sorry that should probably be in #seasons-events-chat
lore chat so busy la sigh
Why the sigh, Jam?
can't read it all, and frankly don't wanna
Lmao
Darn, there’s a lot of lore moffs
learning curve moment
Lore chat being alive is weird, gonna take a break
good luck with lore moffs Jam lmao
see but they're talking about the timeline, and crystals, and the season and ancestors here in general
my stuff that I'd show people is about main themes mostly, so I'll just hide away
Just spam docs and the concept timeline and call it a day ig
nah, i wont write docs about this season until i finish it
the lorechat team frankly cant put our heads together when there's this much hype
there's too much of the same questions being asked over and over again
Yep
cough cough last quest of proph cough cough
But hey, this is better than that event since FOR S9ME REAOSN THERE’S NO SLOWMODE WHEN THERE’S LIKE 100 MESSAGES PER SECOND
got the shiny glitch, never noticed resh is holding something up there
its almost like... a place to insert something?
pls dont jinx it lol
blessed
and welcome back to Please Stay Krilled (totally didn’t rip-off of CGK)
shiny resh
the more I look at it they're not inserts at all, but the way the statue opens....
if the ones on the ground are supposed to be turrets, could those ones be cannons.....?
those look glorious
musing: ik they're al made out of stone and bricks, but perhaps the king statues/turrets were gilden/shiny back in the day cos the king was that vain
Well
they are only shiny in that pic because I got a weird visual glitch because it's not a new season if something doesn't break
Yea ik I was just musing
This is what it feels like to be deciphering the new murals
ah more lore wow
My conclusion (it doesn't have to be canon, this is just what I agree on what happened) from some of the murals in season of abyss.
Krills were mantas that were experiemneted on by hoomans uvu. There's a facility that kept mantas that's submerged in water.
Also mantas are immortals I think. The spirits that I found there were scavengers and they were all above water. That means they came from a time after the apocalypse. That means the manta survived the apocalypse, were even submerged in water, that probably took A LONG LONG time, even survived through the extinction of humans. Even then, they still survived and caged up. I suspect their immortality is what lead the people to experiment on them.
Question is what caused the apocalypse. If it is the emergence of krills that brought darkness with them, then that manta keeping facility is the site where the apocalypse began. Literal chills.
Fell free to rip my theory to shreds xD
There was a third mural of what I suspect is a krill, that looked very very similar to the creature on the bottom of the second picture but more uhh.. scarier? More deformed? with teeth and shrimpy legs
The picture on the second showed that mantas were getting weirder.. more uh fins? I think to me it looks like the mantas were "evolving" the more you go down the levels until you see the thing at the bottom.
First picture it definitely looked like a lab to me. See how people were around the cages mantas, looking at it? Isn't that a movie perfect picture of a science lab? XD
They "experiment" is connected to the tower. See how the mantas go in from the left and there is no way out except to go up the tower.
I think there's a creature here that is related to King. It looks like a concept art
I really think you're onto something here. They seem to get bigger with more "fins" the further it goes down, so it would make sense if the big creature all the way down was a manta originally (or is related to them). They kind of remind me of the big cosmic manta in Vault. I think the manta's kept in the facility thing could all have been captured from nature. We see different kinds (/stages) of manta in Sanctuary (and Tom Zhao's concept art).
I think it's nice how they show that they can create more powerdiamonds with the bigger creatures (at least, that's that I think they mean). Maybe the biggest creature at the bottom was an experiment to make a more powerful source? Or it could have been a big boi they captured. Maybe it was even there in the water before the facility was built (it seems to be outside the building together with some fish)
This season seems to be full of lore and I'm loving it
I feel like the big creature in that second mural is depicted in a way that's very similar to the manta's, with the shape of it's flappy things in the front
Exactly!
Can't get a good pic on my phone, but reminds me of this
That looks similar!
You're right! It does resemble ||leviathan|| pretty closely! ||with the eyes, jaw, little thingies and shape||
The mantas make me so sad
There was a creature that chased around the fisherman spirit but the third mural, like the one from Arabax, showed something much MUCH bigger.
I also glitched oob, but I will refrain from giving potential season spoilers
Hehe I appreciate that
I could be toooootally wrong but it is so fun to think the "lab" is where the apocalypse began. Historical site that began our sky journey.
what is that
YESSS. If nothing else, it has to be directly related to doomsday...I mean. Seems to me like the creation of krill

Wingdings
Yep! That's my conclusion too!
Okay but to be honest, these new murals feel like the most clear out of all the murals we got so for
This season gives me Journey vibes. It's so terrible and wonderful
Jesus that's awesome
I didn’t make it, my friend did and I didn’t know what it says
Is it from sky?
I’m getting ||ABZÛ|| vibes from this season
so were they using mantas as a source of energy or something? i’m just discovering all the new murals finally owo .. i wonder if we’ll free them at some point
No. I mean, I know now
#sky-memes message
Who are we if not saviors xD
here. sorry for the potato quality
What is wingdings?
a font that makes the text look like that
Oh. I need to send another concept art. I'm sad again ☹️ I just realized something
sorry for awful picture but any idea on who is the dune sandworm looking creature in the beginning? lol
rage
To me it looks like krill lol
It could be another species of krill
it looks like three krill stuck together
i don’t think it looks like krill at all … it’s kinda scarier lol
Maybe they were trying to weaponize Mantas?
King krill?
I'm not sure if I see this place as the only start of the apocalypse, but it could definitely be the place where krill were created (since Krill are also only in Wasteland and Eden). I think the pollution was a thing that slowly started happening everywhere and maybe the big diamond in Eden blew up.
But this new area seems to be where krill originated from and they definitely made diamonds there, so they contributed to the apocalypse in any case. Maybe this wasn't the only place where they mined those materials. It could have also been that right here they made a new kind of powerdiamond. From the Forrest temple door I thought diamonds were made from wood and lightcreatures, so maybe the rocks they mined here are more powerful (and dangerous). This rock could also be the same material as the red rocks in Eden but idk
There was a war in ancient times that destroy the world of Sky
Creature that resembles it https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5cf9836e9d1c5200018df596/1582059679982-LA1B7UD6JYG99COWDM9A/194_Sky.jpg?format=1000w and...this...https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5cf9836e9d1c5200018df596/1582059532423-0ZYP1WZIWP05MBWNIJE0/157_Sky.jpg?format=1000w
I'm a lore noob 👀
i don’t think weaponizing anything is happening the lore lessons seem to be more about new technology and pollution and greed/obliviousness to the pursuit of new technology
Where is that creature from?
I have seen pictures of a big creature, so that's probably what this depicts. I kinda like to think of this as a warning maybe for future visitors, since it's at the entrance too and it's a little exaggerated (?)
i wonder if since they aren’t red maybe they’re a refined version of the rocks and mantas and light can purify them or something to use
What do you mean? The small windows?
Tomzhao.com, Tom Zhao was a concept artist for Sky. He is my hero. The creator of life. Mightier than the Megabird (not mightier than Jenova Chen, of course)
the refinery concept art just made me go
Wait a minute.. what about the big long creature that smashes through building when ascend to uh..... Forgot the name, heaven?
Edit: after we die in eden
YESSS 👇
I think the blue rocks we see underwater at those little mine carts could be the raw material and the red rocks in Eden could be a corrupted version? Maybe overcharged?
OH. Hold on, there's another thing about creatures in cages. In valley art
ohh i like that, it makes some more sense
Yea, most of us agree that the red stones in Eden that actively suck out light is corrupted darkstone. The blue diamond shaped gems are either refined darkstone or power diamonds
Big boie
very large
Wow amazeballs
Sorry, can you remove this? I don't want to spoil anything for people. Or hide it anyway
Oh sorry I forgot to spoiler tag it
Oh spoiler pic thingy?
Wait wait wait! There is this one new creature, the thin eel-ish thingy in the new area? It looks a lot like a whale to me. It's even got the thing where it's a creature that neither gives nor takes light! Maybe they're related in some way
No problem! I also found some writing near there tho. I think these pics do belong here, just hidden
it reminds me of an olm
