Dead theories always have the opportunity to rise as fanfictions!
totally not me trying to perform necromancy on the deceased Distraction Theory
So true!
hiding the horribly stitched together Krills are Natural theory
I need to stay up tonight and see all the pinned content lol
There was a different intro???????
My headcanon is that the castle that's in the Eden storm and just before orbit was the place where the Elders resided before Eden was destroyed (image for why this theory might be true)
A comparison:
2019 vs 2021 intro
2019 - With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came, and the stars fell...Together the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds. If only they had listened... A long time has passed. Now, I call to you. Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home.
2021 - The spirits of this realm have long awaited your arrival... ...and your light. "With the stars united, our light was infinite... ...and together, we lived in harmony. As spirits, we soon became many...creating our home here in the clouds. But darkness came and the stars fell... ...and with their light we faded away. A long time has passed. Now we call to you. Go forth, child. Return our spirits to the stars." Draw near, so we may start you on the journey... At last, child...you are ready. Begin by answering the temple's call. --> Spirits once lit the skies and connected our realms... ...in temples, our elders would usher them skyward. But now...their light is lost. Awaken the spirits still lost in this realm to proceed. --> Other Elders wait in distant temples to be awakened. Restore them, child, and we will wait for you in the light.
but i dont LIKE fanfictions

you... do??
the "stars falling" AFTER/during the world ending event makes no sense to me, but id love to hear your take
That's going to be a problem... I'm sure your theory is far from being forgotten, however...
That being said, if the old intro does get deemed as non-canon, I hope you'll eventually find acceptance in the new one and build a new civilization I mean analysis out of it
yes
the new one is actually kinda just thrown together at narrative's will last fall, so I've never trusted it, some specific parts are complete nonsense
i still refuse to believe narrative team didn't just throw whatever together and just have went with that for almost a whole year now
tbf (not really, a job to write is a job to write) Dreams was in production back then; which is still THE most beautifully written and staged season||, but flight may come close to beating it as we reach flight's climax, it's looking pretty dramatic||
so maybe they were just too busy with dreams(?)
Hehehehe, I just realized... this is eventually going to make you into a lore rebel. Not that there's anything wrong with it.
i hate it with all my heart and soul

if being a lore rebel means wishing an entire team with the job titles of "narrative" put more sense into their work, and especially upholding previous work to the same standard as the new, then yeah
ig im a lore rebel
especially when the highest compliment to them is "oh wow, they actually put a compelling story in it for once, that one time"
Not sure if you already knew this, but the Narrative Team only has about 3 people. Out of about 50 members in TGC. Hm.

Now that's what I call impressive in my beady little eyes
for some reason I see this channel as Game theory: sky edition
my message
"tbf that still holds them to a high medium of a standard because when a team is smaller there's a lot more creative freedom to put actual passion into the work, if it was much larger there'd have to be greenlighting processes that lock down/out a lot of concepts from ever seeing the light of day
i didnt know it was three but i assumed it was 4 or 5 anyways"
now that i think about it from when counting the staff before, yeah, its literally just the narrative director and two side people, who also operate in other departments lol
I mean
It kinda is
Though not everyone has THAT kind of game theory dedication
The old intro tells briefly of Elder lore that pre-dates Sky entirely. Probably confusing for kids
The people who write full on essays talking about this games lore deserve a medal
a job is still a job fruity
writing jobs take a bulk of being able to cut it
the only reason you should slip up during production is if you HAD a concept you've bern going forward with, but due to other parts of the game production not being able to make their part in time, you have to make a quick softer and easier to code/design version of your big beautiful story
and yes, that happens... a LOT in game/media development, id know
but still, if saying "oh well at least dreams was actually compelling" is all we have out of 2 years of production /:
I request to sticky this. My headcanon about them calling themselves spirits is that they can't remember what they really were until you relive their memories.
I second the stickying part. Though that's assuming that the spirits are the ones talking. It's not something everyone assumes.
so Megabird uses the Royal We
Well, that's the alternate assumption.
megabird seems to just be a personification of the entity tho
when we ascend we see thousands of beings of Light swimming thru the Sky
how did belonging end btw guys
i still need some old skid to gib da deets
hii
you guys think this is intentional
that’s the Prophecy water symbol
same goes for orange (and green?) lights
it would make sense, but I’m not dealing well with possibly losing these to time
orange you glad I didn't say
it’s hurting the sentimental value but uh
it provides an interesting link
Could be
they’ve had these symbols for ages. they can’t just do this
I am taking it personally tbh
I was wondering about a link - so then what are red and purple for
it would explain stuff tbh
wait where are the Proph murals on which lights went to where
are the Ark murals updated?
I’ll go take a trip to both quickly
Hi Voluntary, long time no see
Wait do the other “Collect [Colour] Light” quests have different symbols?
I think the Prophecy mural just showed 4 lights or elements idk
If I remember correctly:
Water went to Forest
Earth went to Prairie
Air went to Valley
Fire went to Wasteland
Tbh, my interpretation of the old intro is messy, since my interpretation was that the old Intro told the events not in exact chronological order
The first section mentioning how elders fell was actually the same exact event as the "If only they listened" part, just told the latter told it with more context as to what happened before
perhaps Ark’s trade was for the lights - the light trade got messed up, however
dunno if the ones that ended up in places due to the crash are to do with where they got mistakenly transported - let me check
uh
red - nod - wasteland
blue - shrug - valley
cyan - crab walk - isle
green - scare - prairie
purple - snooze - vault
orange - playfight - forest
Oh they have different symbols
so where do red and purple play into this?
nod is a muralist, potentially also historian, red light uncovers the truth (red light as knowledge/history?)
purple? I’m even less sure, snooze is a carpenter and makes the structures appear
but day turns to night, and vault representing night
Hmmmmm
You actually see the purple light get used in Season of Sanctuary, it gets used to restore the bells.
So I would assume purple light creates structure from memory. Red probs create murals from memory
thinking of diamonds being the ancestor symbol
red is history/knowledge
purple as restoration + structure(?) - technology, perhaps
Ooh, that could be it.
Red as history (or memory), purple as technology
but anyway this seems to prove Enchantment and Prophecy lights as the same, which I was salty about at first (losing some insignia of my season) but now very excited
I dont think they're quite the same. I always viewed Enchantment lights being artificial, with the green, blue, cyan and orange lights being mere copies of the og Prophecy lights. I think they just used Prophecy symbols because they're the TRUE symbols of those natural lights
Or, an alternate possibility is that they are indeed the natural lights like Prophecy, which is why they used the Prophecy symbols, but they're not the same ones from Enchantment, as these were found naturally in the realm, not the same ones we got for Enchantment quests
:0 I never realised that-
Oh yeah, someone in #seasons-events-chat pointed out a prop with the Enchantment orange light symbol got changed to the Prophecy one.
The Prophecy symbols are probs the true symbol of the four natural lights rather than Enchantment
for reference
Maybe prophecy elements can't be used normally because they held a big amount of energy so they extract the elements into lights that are weaker for multiple use
maybe the symbols on the Ark (that Nod painted) are symbols for the lights amongst the light scholars/sorcerers? the Prophecy ones as the actual ones
I changed a bit of my interpretation of the diff colored lights from Prophecy after the Nintendo reveal. I think these lights were used to give life and light to the realms (which was why Isles is more greener in the past)
That makes sense
the fact that we see Nod in their memory paint them supports this - the symbols exist in-universe, not just as an in-game thing
idk I just saw the dailies today and had an idea explosion
do the light symbols have any correlation with real-world alchemy?
Idk, Ill check
Enchantment’s green light symbol is the one for air iirc
These?
How can red and purple light be obtainabled
I'm wondering if there's a thing called as fusing lights
red is both near the crop fields in ark, & floating around in the battleship
either
- separate from the main four
- artificial, man-made
- fusion
Rejecting Voyager isn't yellow eventho I ascended them
So either the yellow-tinge-applies-to-all is wrong, or that's not reject
I had to bypass that explicit error so I had to hhh
@harsh pecan I know, I did it before hh
BRUH EXPLICIT CONTENT FOR PROOF IS KRILLING ME
Now Im wondering, why is the red light in two places? Or is it just so people wont have to go to Ark
Also spirits turn yellow when you the unlock ascended candle thing so maybe thats why
Prob. a bug
Ohhh I see
I think we also should dedicate this chat to updating the sky cotl tvtropes page, bc it's looking pretty bare. doesn't even have a characters tab irrc
According to my statistics, the Sky kids who sleep at least 8 hours a day are more likely to be... you won't believe it, less sleepy, amazing, right?
yes, add all the spirits
Ok here, but maybe it's a bug
(Proof that I ascended lies in my mask)
The what page?
In an ark quest cutscene, there's a part where the cyan light is splitted from one into three lights
so maybe the same happens to red light
wait you might be onto something
tvtropes is a site dedicated to finding common tropes in media
sky has it's own page on there, but it's pretty neglected last time I checked
Can I have a link?
(pfft prophecy and enchantment questgivers wondering what I’m doing racing back and forth between them)
time for a trip back to the ark I guess
I personally think it’s a subform of alchemy, combining natural elements (Prophecy) with natural lights (Lightseekers) to forge colored lights, which can be used for multitude of purposes
Enchantments & Lightseekers have been working together for generations to study & experiment with colored lights
Ooooh
U think maybe it got retconned ?
I heard from someone it was actually done just so that players could just pass by it, instead of having to go to the Ark just for daily quests. This may have been a beta feedback thing from players
Oki
It has always been in multiple locations from the start, not due to feedback
No, I mean, when the Season was still in beta, so this was before it was released in Live. Tho this part is mostly a guess, tho I think I may have heard it
No, I was in Enchantment beta, it has always been that way predating the live release
However, it is true, multiple locations gives the option to skip the Ark on quest day
ooo I like that idea
Ohhh, ok
went and noted the number for every light - how many they end up as:
🖌️ 1
💧 1
🌬️ 3
🪴 1
🔹 3
🔥 1
seems to depend on their effect
cyan’s was for the whole range of the area and thus needed more
purple was for multiple targets
the rest work differently I guess
so lightseekers worked with enchantment crew and other scholar-sorcerers
lightseekers potentially linking to prophecy more so with distribution of the natural four
Yeah, basically Enchant guide was a 4th generation alchemist/scholar before his passing from the crash
I think I’ll call them alchemist-scholars too for consistency - subset of light scholars
and the Enchantment crew also as traders
French translation still uses 2019 intro, @tulip aspen it's still canon, just not in english. Yet.
After watching Isle cutscene I realized...spirits ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY. I mean they didn't live in sky world and died. But they died and only then started to live in sky world. At least Russian version text saying so
and by ascending spirits we just make them more "alive". Here's a proof:
(not ascended spirit-picture 1; ascended spirit looks more like sky kid, I mean more colorful and alive - picture 2)
I thought the “we as spirits soon became many” meant they where always spirits, NSW trailer smashy smashed that idea.
alchemy :D
I think “spirit“ is equivalent to “soul” in Sky. The ancestors, creatures and Elders are immortal spirits/souls in a mortal body. When the life of their bodies was almost over, they went to the holy land (aka the mountain) and died. Their spirits/souls then traveled to Megabird by light. I’m not sure whether they became stars until they were reborn or they gifted something like their knowledge from their last life to Megabird and were reborn afterwards.
Creatures evolved into a new, better body after being reborn, eventually turning into Elder creatures. I’m not sure if the same thing happened to our Elders. They might have been normal ancestors in past lives aswell.
After the ancestors and Elders (except Ferryman) disconnected from Megabird and stopped giving their souls to Megabird to be reborn, Megabird lost its power. Oh maybe the ancestors‘ bodies became immortal by fueling it with dark material/lots of light? That would explain why the king wanted to build an enormous power diamond (to keep himself/his body alive).
oh wow lolol, that's exactly the opposite of what it is to me
thats funny lol
hmm, id believe they were just diff lights entirely with no actual connection or importance over one another
HOLY COW
THAT REVOLUTIONIZES SO MUCH
okay okay okay
guys
if voyager (a priest of the elder) wasnt hired for / a part of the prophet's dubious kidnapping operation like stargazer was, and it was just a lookalike..... THEN THE ELDERS MAY HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED WITH THE TRIALS AT ALL!!!!!
😔
it either got retcon which is highly unlikely or the more realistic approach (that they'd cover up by retconning og anyway) which would be that they kind of just slapped the second intro together
oh wow
tysm for the tidbit
GO TEAM
IM REALLY EXCITED

see that's what I mean, all of you moths that joined us after the second intro came into the game are just indefinitely confused and I kind of am perpetually irritated at TGC FOR THAT
I joined in prophecy :/
Just gotta keep up with all the ever changing intros. Lore is liquid. I would not be surprised if they kept changing their minds.
What makes you think that each elder could only have one priest? Priests IRL have pretty specific uniforms, and if 2 of them are wearing the same uniform, they'd most likely be distinguished by their face. Sky doesn't exactly have distinctive faces...
speaking of distinctive faces uhhh
tempted to bring up my more refined blinking headcanon (of all things)
just wanting to send it to here
barely relevant but if anyone’s curious
here it is
the forehead diamond likely has something to do with this, very much
kind of a weird idea because next thing you know they could design a mask that completely debunks this
this isn’t meant to be a long-standing idea, it’s just a way to think about it while I feel really torn about how much sense it makes and in what way
Ok so someone I know took me to office and into the space station. I did the spirit and stuffs. What’s the lore of this? Do people know how the “ going on a walk “ guy got there and if this changes the game at all? This is my first time in office so I don’t know anything.
yes, it changed during prophecy lol
i wouldnt be "surprised" either, but as far as we know they have no concrete 'story' whatsoever, and imo it absolutely shows in the new intro
prob not a good idea to bring up ‘mask theory’ after all
sorry
yeah i was thinking about that too for the past hours......
it could be a less devoted priest who is secretly going against the elder's wishes and helping the prophets instate a king, or maybe yes the elders could still be tied to the trials
either way it's still a step into more CANON possibilities, which is amazing
as a nice little side tidbit it also shows our faithful voyager boi would never kidnap children with stargazer, which makes me happy
What was Eden supposed to represent?
office is completely non canon, and the 'spirits' in there just represent the actual staff/developers of the game
A holy place at the summit of the mountain top.
either way @compact shale , I said "may have" because yes it's only a possibility, but the fact that possibility exists is AMAZING
it could help reinforce the theme of the war of magic/tradition vs. technology/power
if the prophets were going behind the elder's backs that could change everything
Could you explain this whole prophets thing?
i highly recommend you find them in game first (but im sure you'll just re-ask and someone will tell you anyways la sigh)
Return to the Isle of Dawn. North beyond the winged light at the Eastern Cave, low in the clouds, there will an entrance to a massive cave. Enter there and find the Head Prophet, who will show you an ancient tradition...
Oh yeah i remember playing the trials
oh okay lol
the dude in the trials that gives you the quest is the prophet xD
ill tell you the full story now then @strange plume
the prophets could see glimpses of the future, and saw that they were supposed to anoint a king through the power of trials
so they made the trials, a series of tests that happen in your mind
children of the light fall towards the isle of dawn, and the prophets seem to have sent Ushering Stargazer to bring the children to the trials, to have them tested
we dont know how many failed, but we can see that many DID fail, and when they did they became incapacitated somehow, and possibly even died...
eventually, a child of the light finally defeated all four trials, and was crowned king/(or)prince
this is all we know for sure, through the memories of the Ushering Stargazer, and through the paintings on the walls in the cave of prophecy
Interesting
We're not allowed to talk about beta stuff here.
omg really? I thought the "spoiler" thing included beta (?) So sorry hehe, but my theory is kindy interesting should.. should i delete my message or?...
It's just that someone told there was no such thing as big krill :(
Yeah, you're going to have to delete. The lore channel isn't a beta channel, so you can't talk about it here.
I just did, but will you remember me?:(
It could relate to the whale in sanctuary, or the memory large spirit manta in vault, so I'd go with that for now
When I joined it was the old intro with prince surrounded by the realm constellations. Stargazers memory changed during prophecy but the first version I saw she was just walking around with no falling starchildren. I WAS SO CONFUSED WHEN I SAW PICTURES OF THE FALLEN CHILD IN HER MEMORY IN LORECHAT BACK THEN I DIDNT KNOW IT HAD UPDATED. A lot of people lament the changed intro but the intro has never been stable. Theres like 15 in LA. One had the skykids looking for their ‘family’
Did they change proud stance spirit ? I don't recall them having music or the child playing in the snoe
What's the "forbidden knowledge" in Vault? I don't see anything out of the ordinary there apart from the huge space light creatures
Well, one "forbidden" part of the Vault is actually the Archives, the place where you meet Mr Wise Stance
When it was first added, it was described to be "Strictly forbidden, no one should go there"
i didnt know it changed either lolol
does the secret nintendo switch area actually exist in the kingdom or is it a non canon thing like the office
I think for the context of lore, it's probably considered to be just an unofficial easter egg area like the office and the asteroid jacket area (which was basically like the staging area for the cutscenes that TGC decided to let people go there and explore with the cape if they wanted)
It looked like they were close tho, interesting that Usher wouldn't have known (or at least it looked like that for me)
So um what's the story of the wasteland i can see the progression and the kingdom they built more over on the eye of eden. Better yet on the valley of triumpht. What was it before darkness came soon after the collapse of this great empire? Why is there are pipes and steals? it feels like there more likely advanced civilization as a whole. Is it some kind of the experimental failure to gain more light? Why theres krills? Why there crabs ? Not gonna lie there cute🤭. I know we have to reborn again and save those lost spirits i can see there previous lives how they cooperate how they expressed, feel emotion as we are, too. We have a part from it. But, it doesn't make sense how this Darkness came from and we have to go in the ||pnr|| region. Do guys have a theory about this? I loved to hear your opinions aswell
Getting Light from mantas maybe, or that it could involve creature's death. Maybe it could be said to people like prairie elder that "For reaching the holy gates, you need to give some Mantas at <so and so date>...we promise those Mantas won't die." or smth
The Vault (forest floor) has those Memory Lanterns which makes us stick to it...could it indicate that Forest has equipments which can attract Light creatures when gotten too close? Or?
Hey guys, I'm kinda new in lore. Can somebody explain, what is the Megabird?
Megabird is the god of Sky and is most likely the one that sent us to the Sky kingdom, they can be seen in Orbit
Wait really? Man poor prince..
Is there an explanation for the sheer abundance of those kid statues that we save found in PNR
It's implied that those are other skykids, we turn into a similar one after all.
The question now is, how long have those statues been there?
I see but how did they all end up there? I'm pretty sure there was a point where there was only one unfortunate Sky kid that got turned to stone in PNR. If that's the case, what caused several more Sky kids to go there to end up becoming the statues that we save?
There was a concept where the King was the "Final Boss" of Eden and we needed to survive their attacks and give light to the core at the bottom of the diamond, presumably to save him.
Maybe the first skykid who tried became a statue, and then a chain reaction started?
I'd say they're our former versions (Skykids) who died in order to save the spirits that had already ascended (like Salute
spirit with the graveyards near them)
Yeah, I think there was a bit more to that, but that's what I'm talking about
There is, though that would turn the chat into a gallery, lol
Maybe you could be sent to #screenshots-and-videos and then linking the post to it?
then again, maybe not
They're not in-game screenshots, so no.
I guessed in the end, took some time to process it hh
That's plausible. Could it also be possible that several sky kids (for whatever reason) where already there when red stone thingy started going haywire and killed them off? Because if so, then I believe it would make sense as to why so many other statues are there because they're most likely other Sky Kids trying to save the statues before inevitably turning into statues themselves (exactly what we do in PNR)
Futile cycle, indeed... unless there is something that can break it?
With the power of love and friendship It'll probably be something that we'll see as the game's story evolves
I dont think they are the same as our sky kids...
While we do turn into a statue exactly like them, there's this subtle, but significant difference that seperates us.
We glow golden immediately when we turn into a statue, while they glow blue.
May not seem like a significant difference, but when you actually return to PNR and you already saved some previously before reset, you'll see the ones you saved previously glow yellow, indicating they're already saved by you and no longer need a winged light.
But us? We're immediately glowing GOLD from the MOMENT WE TURN INTO A STATUE. There's also the Dark Room, and after the embrace of the other kid, we ascend. No winged light involved here, just ourselves.
The major difference between our Skid and the other Statued Skids in PNR? We dont need saving. We break out and ascend ourselves
That's a good point... but WHY do WE specifically have that power? What has set us apart from everyone else?
Interesting observation. If they really are a separate species then I wonder what they are
cough Prince=Our Sky Kid Theory cough
Gold could suggest the connection to the megabird.
Perhaps the spirit alone is not strong enough to break out of the statue, but a skykid that shares a connection to the light of megabird could help the spirits break out and ascend.
So gold means that they've been saved. Got it.
Yeah, but what about the other skids? Theyre not glowing gold like us when they're statued, they're blue. And remember we have no Winged Light like them, they needed Winged Light unlike us because its they're light/life force. We were actually borrowing the winged light from them
I like to think that the reason why Sky Kids have that power is because they're the destined saviours of the fallen kingdom. Think of it like that one popular saviour figure from Christianity who possesses extraordinary powers and miracles and has helped many souls ascend to paradise
So basically... The Chosen One?
Still sounds like the Prince. (Sky Prince, not the other guy)
Yeah but not in the same definition as The Chose One of the trials
I actually had a headcanon about why those kids were there
They were actually trying to save the Prince and sacrificed for it. We're the Prince reborn and returning their lights to them.
Thats what the devs meant by how in PNR "there's nothing left to save" (interpretation)
I think they only said "the King's not here to be saved" but not "nothing"
The statues give a subtle blue glow inside of them, if I recall correctly.
Us skykids give winged light to them to save them. Only the statues you saved would break. I may be able to investigate that idea with a test. By saving certain statues and watching a cutscene, it should result in only the statues I interacted with would break, while the ones I left alone stay behind.
It is uncertain whether the statue kids and the winged light are the same beings.
Actually, thats not the exact words, someone pointed out it out. The exact words were actually
"There used to be an Eden Elder. But now, there's nothing left to save".
Tho, I do headcanon the the Eden Elder and the Prince are the same people, but at the same time, different. Like uh, Anakin and Darth Vader (thats the best comparison I have at the moment)
Same person, different egos
Actually, they are, the Winged Lights actually belonged to the Fallen Sky Kids in Eden. Its in the very description of PNR when you enter.
The desc says "Return the light of the Fallen."
So I got Eden pictures from my recent run again
The very descriptipn of PNR from the very beginning confirmed the Winged Light was never yours, but were actually from the Fallen Skids in Eden and were scattered everywhere in the realms. However, we dont know who these kids were and what they were doing in Eden in the first place. (And towards the Diamond. Why in the world were they trying to go towards the Diamond of Inevitable Doom?)
I'll have a look when going to Eden later today, I thought the title said, "return the light **to **the fallen."
I thought that as well until I saw the actual description. I checked several videos and the descruption was the same
- My game crashes at this screen; does anyone know what this is?

- Love the light and dark duality

- This gate looks so much like Eden entrance gate

The rest are all attempts at capturing the swirling storm column
For number 1, I think it might be a bug
Whoah ah got it
So the fallen skids are winged light
At least to me that sounds better than "Alef's soul fragments"
That one sounded a little too horcrux-y for my liking
Yeah, you could say those Winged Lights could probably the equivalent of our Skid's flame for the other Skids.
Yea itll be weird if his soul got split like a 100+ times
Jesus?
JESUS TAKE THE WHEEEHEEEEL
TAKE IT FROM MY HAAAAAAAAAANDS
Yea, and now some people blame him for the fall of the Kingdom :(
Ye :(
thabks for spreading King propaganda
Yeah, I kinda disliked this notion from the very beginning. I swear this was just so prominent in the previous year with King=Bad, when its much more complex than that
Wait
King Propaganda is only a year old?
Well, I was here only since last year, which was how I know... I swear, the negative views of the King was pretty prominent by ppl here by the time I joined
But now that I think about it, the King was only confirmed to be canon since July of last year by Ash, about a month before I joined the community. And Prince was then later confirmed to be canon by Reika few months later right before Prophecy came out in Live.
Oohhh, alright. Thank you!
Ikr
Yeah. I didn't explicitly said his name just to be safe since he's quite a religious figure and saying his name while discussing the lore of a fictional world seems off to me
Oh yea youre right
||hi||
Hi
Is the lone kid we hug the Prince, or a winged light kid?
It may resemble a winged light, however the one you meet in eden moves and hugs the skykid, which none of the winged light do.
There was someone that had a look at the game files and noticed the soundtrack for that scene was title King Hug.
So, it could be the Sky Prince, or a fragment of the king, or something else.
There is still plenty of debate about it.
And, about the kid/kids who wave to us in Orbit and then beam upwards to the stars, are these winged light, and not the one we hug in Eden?
Those are the fallen you save from the statues in eden. You see them break out of the statues after your skykid perishes and ascend with you to Orbit.
Winged light, that we see outside of the point of no return in the Eye of Eden do not have capes.
It might just be our inner light
Ah. They also don’t reflect your kid’s height. The one who we hug in Eden does.
Agreed. Whoever is in the void (I am staying neutral for the time being), would always match your height.
This can be proven with height changing spells (temporary or permanent) and chibi mask.
Also remember, you fall into the dark room when you turn into a statue, and our soul is presumably stuck in there. So I like to think the dark room was actually our mindscape, or the deepest part of it. The kid we hug is ourselves.
Hey guys
What yall think of Wasteland's dark creature war?
I just realized idk much about it
omg
thats what i thought too, and you inner light (your last light) helps gives you enough force to break through the curse and take flight
Hi
Halloo
Yeah, same. I couldn't dislike the King for some odd reason eventhough I haven't seen them, really just felt like they grew up too fast and got everyone killed as a result
not really
we really can't know one way or the other lol, literally the ONLY story we have on the prince/king is of the Chosen One of the trials
people can say whatever they want about the king imo, because literally ANYthing you guess about him is just still far too deep down the headcanon rabbithole
Yes hello I would love to learn more about the Lore of Sky. Where do I start?
You will embark on a journey that will be impossible to escape. Theories, rabbit holes, and assumptions will surround you, which have caused many to fall into insanity (including me). Are you sure about this?
btw, @nimble ingot @compact shale , direct quote implying spirits/ancestors ARE 'stars' but winged light isnt, lore wise
Stop everything I have a headcanon
hmmm...
So the old name for wl being stars mean that it is no longer canon.
Hella. That sounds like a wonderful journey
So we know that the spirits and the statues in Eden are not the same. Why?
Spirits can't fly. They can drift, but they can't fly.
And the statues actually burst out of their rock encasing, take off, flap their capes much like a Skykid does, and actually fly towards Orbit. You can see them fly alongside you when you're collecting candle wax from the spirits.
I think the statues are closer to the Skykids than to the spirits. Their form is the same and they actually use their capes for controlled flying – altitude, speed, and direction.
If the WL that we feed to the statues are "imprints of the COL" and Skykids are actual "COL"
It seems to imply to me that there was a generation before us who tried to rescue the land, but met the same fate as the rest of the land.
pardon? im not sure what you mean...
In the past. Winged light were once called stars.
The name was changed later on to Winged Light.
Even the devs had nicknamed them 'shiny boi'. Then the devs mentioned they should no longer use that nickname in streams.
If that qoute you shared can be sources to confirm which dev said it and when. Then the name star for winged light is no longer a canon name.

Food for thought
Finally, as promised. A map of Valley. I am never doing this again.
Please note I had to warp some areas so they fit, and disregarded Eden’s direction in the sliding race because it didn’t make sense.
my interpretation of the dark room is similar to yours, in that it's some form of a mindscape or liminal zone of the soul encased in darkness. The kid we hug is winged light given to our petrified form by another skykid and, because it is now ours, it mirrors us. Given that winged light are "imprints of children of the light" it readily accepts whatever new skykid it belongs to and reawakens our flame. Any additional winged light simply amplifies our flame, making us more powerful and granting us with flight. But after dying in Eden, it's purpose is to revive us.
GUYS GUYS IT'S IT-
I don’t think so, I think rhythm birb is
What does that emoji depict?
It says “elder bird”
Well yeah, but who says that the one in the Trailer is not an elder bird too?
Personally it looks pretty similar, the only difference I find is the krill-like light. It also looks like both were used to transport things and persons
I have a question for people, has anyone figired out what krills could have looked like before the corruption in wasteland?
the elder bird from rhythm is too small to be the Light Dragon
many assume it's the Light Dragon from the Nintendo Trailer (some pics of it were conveniently posted above by aerial kreb there)
Light Dragon isn't the creature from the trailer's confirmed name tho, and recently many people have been pushing back against the accepted imagery and saying it cant be that easy; and there's not enough proof
idk why people wouldnt want that creature to be the Light Dragon
prolly doesn't fit with their headcanons smh
Yeah the dev confirmation of the krill being corrupted as opposed to natural internally hurt a bunch of peeps
But for me it's all I've ever known
I do as well, it's very convenient to have the exact same light
Bird has 2 eyes. Feathers. Not only does the mantatee thing have 1 eye, it also has the ridges on its neck. And and and, it had whopping bull ram horns in the storyboard. (Top left)
krill has horns.....
Exactly.
THAT'S THE FULL BODY????
BRUH ITS LITERALLY THE KRILL
HOW DO PEOPLE DENY THIS
IT'S WINGS EVEN MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A GIANT SHRIMP
maybe the one in the trailer had it's horns clipped
When it became corrupted into the krill we know, its skin and flesh fell off. At least that seems to be the case, as from what seems to be going on with it.
exactly!!!
last time i brought it up everyone was saying we "couldnt be sure", but LOOK AT THIS

huh, I always thought the krill were mechanical.
NINTENDO CREATURE IS KRILL THEORY GANGGG
sadly, the krills r natural/machines are uhhh looks at their graves
yes
Yesss
THE NECROTIZING DARKNESS
FRUITY, DON’T REVEAL YOU’VE BEEN PRACTICING NECROMANCY
NO IT'S NOT MY FAULT
shhhh, the mods could be near us
anyways, let’s try to revive krills r machine/natural theory later
what does the "if only they had listened" intale?
Jam? Still there?
Should prolly clarify I drew that mantatee/lightkrill thing based off the trailer + storyboard one :/
Heyy does somebody know when will the next ts appears?

The Traveling Spirit is here and will be in Home until <t:1638172800:F> (leaves <t:1638172800:R>)
You can read how Traveling Spirits work here: http://bit.ly/TravelingSpirits```
who is the figure standing here?
probably the king
ive known about it for a month now, and we havent even been good friends for that long xD
where is that at?
but yeah whenever the Light is shown on the golden character's head, it's the Royalty
whenever the Light is shown as wings behind them, it's the Child of the Light
its in the opening cutscene
the old intro, anyway that’s prollt King/Prince
We're... friends...?
what
Sorry had a mind blip
Um
What are your thoughts on the Wasteland Creature War? Asking for a friend
is that a theory or something that happened
Theory
yknow, TST
What's TST?
Two Shield Theory
explain pls?
Someone made an analysis of the intro, idk if I have the link tho
In wasteland theres two types of shields you can find scattered, round sun shields and diamond shields. The theory is they are the two sides that fought each other, (possibly for pro and anti power diamond) as near the end you find a spear through a diamond(?) shield.
Wait does that mean the King/Prince existed before the stars fell into the Sky Kingdom?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
The answer for everything is why the stars fell. It would reveal if King made the stars fall or if he fell because they where already falling.
Hmmm
oh yeah
@compact shale
I've always believed in the TST theory, and have always been confident there was SOME kind of civil war within the kingdom
who was part of each side, however, is so ridiculously unclear (just like the details of the Royalty) that I don't care to think about who fought who
all I acknowledge is
- there were two sides fighting and
- there was a clear theme of magic/tradition vs. advancement/power, and while each side may have USED magic and tech, each side seems to have wanted less of one of these things to be present
and we do know the Sky/Elders don't want the ancestors to stay on Earth, but the ancestors, as a kingdom, do want to stay, so I think the war may be heavily influenced by that, and the idea of the power diamonds
Maybe he had a connection to the elders before the stars fall, but that connection was lost. When he came to the Sky kingdom, he did all of those stuff (Prophecy Murals) and regained that connection idk
Thank you!
I think ancestors where supposed to live full lives on ‘earth’ and just be connected spiritually so that when they die they return full of light.....I don’t think anyone one was rushing them to die faster or anything like that.
It was a cycle so they could return to the kindgom and fill up again.
imagine if forest elder was bonking the old people of their reign and saying "DIE FASTER"
in the old intro the stars fell before everything happened, and made it sound like the "stars" were indeed the ancestors (or the Elders as some like to believe)
in the new intro, it says "the stars fell" AFTER the kingdom was built, which implies it WAS the apocalyptic event that ruined the kingdom??
i have been rebelling against the second intro tho and am convinced they just put that line wherever they wanted and didnt even know what they were doing when they rewrote it, and just out together whatever with little thought in it
i dont think so just because it says the only reason the ancestors/ancientCotL came/come to Earth at all was because 'the darkness separated the Stars from the Sky, and the Stars fell to Earth'
The ancestors coming to Earth was never intended by the Sky
It does not want them to stay
Yea the first and second intros contradict eachother
Maybe the stars are the elders and all the dead people in line to be reborn. So theres still people in the kingdom while more people can fall. I still don’t know if the elders fell first though. Since its their job to launch spirit, if they fell then before that they had to be able to send spirits up FROM orbit
well the second intro is the current intro, so that's more relevant and that's what we got to work with
I don’t think it wants them staying AFTER they die. But their job is not to die. The skykids where sent because the spirits where trapped on land AFTER they already died.
I think living a full and connected life is HOW they fill with light.
Yeah
When it comes to canon stuff , the PRESENT version usually overrides stuff in PAST versions
We always talked about the old intro maybe being out of order though. Since some of us thought the stars falling was the destructive event.
Owch. I hope you had that saved
Saw someones post just get deleted
i mean yeah id have to throw in the towel and just call it a lazy action of them by my lonesomes la sigh
I should compile the old intros from Tara videos sometimes......but im sure I would miss some. Hhh
I think someone already compiled the intros
If they did I want to re read the ‘find your family’ one

i think that too
it's the only way they can ascend, to just live happily appreciating their people, but they are also tasked by the elders to remember the reason they live is to gain the beautiful life and energy to become enlightened and ascend
i dont think they have an "end" of their lives tho, they arent biological
they prolly just ascend when they are ready, almost like a retirement
Im saving this post
To the stars we came from, and to the stars we shall return. I've thought of an alternate future in a point of time where all of Megabird's fragments are in the kingdom. (I believe that creating a skykid uses one of Megabird's stars and that Megabird doesn't have infinite amount of stars)
same lmao
this is golden
tbh tho doesnt add that much new detail for me
@compact shale
mm
tbh "we shall return to our home the stars" is a lot simple to me than your take, urs is very detailed lolol
i still dont think the sky sent anyone down on purpose except the elders and us
also AAAAA THE CENSOR
Not sure what take you're thinking of but if you're thinking of the distraction theory it's dead
Though imagine an alternate timeline where we skykids make the kingdom our own and rebuild it for our own purposes
Its perfect proof of skylore still being in development and changeable though.
that is my working idea. the skykids are "the descendants." it used to the ancestors' kingdom, but they're all dead now. skykids shuffle them out to the afterlife and make their own home here.
hold on I had a larger explanation typed out in another server
wym? nah, when it says "to the stars we came from, and to the stars we shall return", id like to think that's the spirits and the Sky in unison
the spirits, now being dead, have given up on their kingdom and accepted they need to come home
they just need to return to the stars
and those who followed the Elder's wishes and sought enlightenment had always said that
tbf in that example it changed once every 3 months, because Sky was still in early development
its not in early development anymore fam
they cant do this and still pretend they care about making a beautiful story
I'm starting to think that the skykids' purpose isn't restoration but rather recovery.
I just finished all the quests for the forgotten ark and I'll show screenshots but this is place is so beautiful. Of course, all of Sky is beautiful. But I've found the wasteland only picturesque in a morbid way with its desolation and horror. The forgotten ark fit that theme well until you start doing the quests.
I started the quests expecting to find answers to what happened to the ark or why the Golden Wasteland is such a barren hellscape. The first quest reveals some lore encoded in those hieroglyphs I'm starting to despise for their obscurity, but maybe that's the point. Maybe that's not what we're supposed to be so focused on, drawing conclusions about and from the past. Because as you start completing the quests, life starts returning to the ark. The water turns blue and bears fish, flowers and grass grow, sunlight breaks through the clouds, birds and butterflies populate the area. The spirits even begin decorating the place.
The ark remains broken and upturned in the sand, even it's oars flap uselessly in the newfangled wind. The past failed. The ancient civilization fell. The skykids were sent to rescue those who perished in those final days so they can ascend to Orbit. When we go to Orbit, we are instead reborn and sent back to the ground.
Perhaps us skykids inherited this land from our ancestors. Perhaps we are meant to learn from their mistakes – not rebuild them, not to restore their peoples to their former glory, but create a future for ourselves in the ruin. To make the ruins less desolate, to construct our own civilization full of that glee and excitement that comes from childhood. Of course that childhood innocence won't last and it shouldn't. In naïveté will the sins that toppled the ancestors plague this new era. We are to grow up, be cautious, yet nevertheless succeed and want that success to flourish.
Ohhh
I mean I WANT to believe that we CAN make a new civilization but I don't know if we will ever be able to... or if we should...
I use "restoration" to mean to return to how something originally was. I use "recovery" to mean to improve after deteriorating in some way but does not inherently mean back to its original state.
A way to see this difference is in response to a natural disaster. After a town is devastated by a storm, humans coalesce to rebuild so people can go back to their homes. Individuals claim their boundaries and laws & deeds assert the validity of their properties. They call the town by the same name. That's restoration.
A forest fire leaves the region barren. Seedlings sprout from the nutrient-rich ash. Rains hydrate the earth. A new generation of animals nest in the new flora. You would not be able to find the exact same paths and hideaways of the old forest like the structured roads of a town, but you can forge new ones in the forest. That's recovery.
yeah ive never likedpreferred the Inheritance Theory
I've always thought if we were ever to be unbound from our original purpose we'd rebuild the kingdom and integrate the spirits into our society
(if you can't tell this is a feverdream)
hello
YOU
hi Red Cape
care to elaborate?
we belong to the Sky
the fault of the ancestors is that they stayed in this world at all
if we tried to make a kingdom we would end up becoming just as corrupt as they had
Someday, this place will be abandoned... but for now, we still have spirits to free... new places to find them will be uncovered, but for now, they are covered by the clouds
Mm. I think living in the world is still part of it. Living in the world and making it a home again isnt really mutually exclusive to someday returning to the stars. Both.
exactly. can skykids not have multiple purposes? also, with all the cloud cover, they will be here for a long time waiting for the storm to recede. What else are they supposed to do in the time being? If anything, they've already made a civilization
What civilization?
as we agreed, becoming wise is a part of having the power to ascend
that's why they have to live in this world
living in this world is beautiful and part of their journey is appreciating it and their loved ones in it, but in the end they must return Home
How do we know that being wise is part of it? Is it because getting enough winged light for ascension requires you to explore the realms? What ARE winged light?
Well thats pretty much just the inevitability of death so yep.
the one we play as now. it's not as structured as a kingdom – if anything, I'd say the skykids live in an anarchy. but it's their world now, that and all the light creatures and remaining spirits we usher on but sometimes return (see: Granny).
No, pretty sure Gran's still here because there's something we need to do for them to agree to ascend us. (Ascending someone without consent isn't a good idea)
If an ancestor WERE to return, wouldn't they have a different body?
when i say ascension, i mean what the SPIRITS/ANCESTORS need to ascend, not us
Oh
So we DON'T need that stuff then :/
I was thinking, what if krill are a recreation of the switch creature instead of a corruption?
could she not be here out of the kindness of her own heart? Season of Belonging has long since passed, whatever she needed to ascend must've be satisfied long ago (which was gathering her family again).
tbf, we canonically live all their most important memories
thru them, we become more enlightened than all of them, because we are all of their lessons combined
that's what makes us so strong as we wait for more clouds to give way and continue our journey
Doubtful...
If the spirits WERE to come back they'd probably be in a different body... and not spirits
yeah, they'd just be reincarnated at skykids to help more spirits ascend
The what
Don't they stay in the ascension hall to give us buff
Also I don't think they can control when they get reborn either
why would they have to be in a different body and not simply just descending for a visit? at the end of their dinners, Granny goes back up. Surely with the same ease they could go back down
who is granny?
Isn't that how reincarnation works?
who says they have to be reincarnated?
Isn't that part of the cycle tho?
ancestors surely had a knack for breaking the cycle. Disregarding the whole power diamonds fiasco, again, Granny is still here and keeps coming back.
You'd think by now the Sky would prevent them from pulling that again.
idk how to feel about the wing buff thing
it seems more like the memory of who they were as ancestors are giving you their Light; giving you the power that becoming enlightened gave them
They prolly arent actually there in your ascension hall / Limbo, yknow?
idk if that makes sense but yeah
not spirits?
would but can it?
still, I'd imagine that coming down to feed the skykids and coming back when done would be harmless enough
(sorry for the ping, my hands are frozen)
I mean, a force that handles the LITERAL CYCLE OF LIFE has to force back control every now and then
It might be harmless in the eyes of a child but for the Sky there isn't telling what THAT could lead to
this is the assuming the "Sky" doesn't have control over the situation. even if Granny always intended to come back, we hear the bells toll and they leave. they may come down on their own volition, but perhaps the Sky could force them back up after a certain period of time if it has as much control as assumed.
Hm, I see.
Makes me wonder what Granny did to get this kind of deal in the first place because not gonna lie it sounds cool.
he is slightly right
the Sky never interfered when the ancestors originally came to Earth, nor when they started killing each other
the only instance i can remember is a theory of mine that the Sky was (COULD HAVE BEEN) the one who fractured the Eye of Eden, to punish everyone for all the pain they were causing
Don't ask why but Granny wanting to return every now and then sounds like a power you could get by making a deal with the devil
i won't ask why fruity
but
that sounds awfully like youd know what a deal with the devil would be like 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀
could the Sky/Megabird/god whatever just be a benevolent & conscious force that, since it makes the rules, is able to bend its own rules to maintain its ethics? Could Granny have offered the idea or even be offered to carry out the idea?
Gran's ability seems more like a privilege than a right... I think there's something more to them that we don't know yet
Was all of the industrial/mechanical stuff in Eden built after the downfall?
i'd imagine before since it's implied that industrial stuff caused the downfall (manufacturing power diamonds)
Is the industrial stuff the cause of darkness?
most likely, ye
I think there was always light and dark in the world, but the industrial stuff did bring out their greed and need for power that corrupted them even further
There were dark crabs in the switch trailer so they may have existed for a while. I think light and dark had always been around cause you can’t have one without the other
But yes, most likely the conquest for power and magic spurred the darkness to grow as a result, or maybe because the spirits weren’t able to maintain it?
Speaking of the switch trailer, is the kid that we see a child of light? They look quite like one but I dont think it would make sense?
Good question.
not necessarily
we dont even really know what darkness/corruption is as a force in Sky's world
we know ||(IF IM RIGHT ABOUT FIRST INTRO BEING RIGHT)|| it struck the spirits from the Sky creating ancestors; humanlike Beings
we know it corrupts creatures and traps the souls of the ancestor's spirits
we know it pours indefinitely out of the fracture in the Eye of Eden, which seems to be the largest most powerful power diamond in the world
see but the fact that it has occasionally attacked the Sky throughout the millenniums, makes it sound like it's alive, like it's evil, but all other evidence makes it seem to be just some awful non-entity happenstance that comes out of the Eye of Eden like the world's worst battery acid
this is why i am so determined to prove ancestors grow up from ancient Children of the Light, and lose their connection to the Sky, while gaining a connection to their humanity
@signal spire
ty
“Sky” could be the god/demiurge oh the Sky world, often likened to “Megabird”, or the world/universe itself.
What's a demiurge?
Creator diety
this is my official direct answer lolol
"i think its more beautiful being mystical and impossible to understand
it keeps a godly and reverent atmosphere to it
The Sky has many names
Megabird, The Stars, The Light
I'd like to think that The Sky is just everything
everything in this universe belongs to the sky, to the dust that forms stars, stars like us
that's the vibe the ending gives me, anyways
i see all creatures, all spirits and life becoming children of the sky, and how all of them are just more stars in the sky, all a part of something greater"
Megabird is just the personification of the Sky
Maybe someday it'll be confirmed it is indeed a real entity that rules over the Sky
Who knows....
pantheism intensifies
Can spirit talk through
you're using a lot of big words magic man
pantheism is believing that everything that composes reality is divine/god thus divinity is within reality itself and every single thing.
this is different from panentheism, which is the belief that the divine/god is in everything but that doesn't necessarily make everything it's in divine
mm
its more like my belief is that every LIVING creature of Light makes up the divine reality of the Sky
the darkness and corruption, and the Earth, aren't really connected to the Sky, but we can see that the darkness affects the Light, and that the Light can create/replicate the elements of the Earth (the skychild is also able to use the Light to burn away the darkness covering everything)
So yes
I guess you could say I've invented a religion for a videogame
Psst psst psst. I added a few more Megabirds to my megabird comp
The megacomp of megabird
Wait the Flight symbol is a megabird too?
More like a noticed similarity. I added the spinners in before flight ever used it as a pendant. The spinners where in concept art too. It looks like the pointed swoopy form.
which makes a lot of sense
and it makes a lot of sense that they'd show the birds (and what they represent) in the drawings on the walls
the birds/spinners actively forever fly out and up towards Orbit, like an inverted stream
everything flows towards the Sky
everything leads back to the Light, in the end
the creatures, the flow of life and everything that comes with it
the spirits may have had their days on Earth, but in the end have to come home
and most importantly, to the original gameplay of Sky,
our journey ends up There
it al begins and ends with that stream of light, and that current rushing back home is represented by the birds
Im so interested in the story but I have no idea what the lore canonly is, would someone care to explain it to me?
Im not sure, you can find clue from murals/cutscene
There isn't that much canon lore, most of the things we say here are theories/headcanons, but this document contains most of the canon lore tidbits TGC has provided

Skybrah's fun fact of the day: 8 hours of sneep snorp a day keeps Dark Dragons away
thank you sm!!
realizing skykids are psychopomps.
psychopomps are entities whose job is to ferry the deceased from the living world to the afterlife.
yes, Isle elder is also a psychopomp, but the skykids are definitely more involved than the elder is
i mention this cos psychopomp is a fun word
Wow
||maybe the krill were another being before turning into krills? i heard the upclose sfx and i heard faint 'what is happening' 'im trapped' voices and maybe they were sky kids unlucky enough to die before eden? idk|| idk if i should spoiler this or not but its scary so eh
Spirits could also be said to be "eidolons"
what do you think
Krills being corrupted was confirmed in a dev Q&A as for what they looked like before, I think he said “time will tell” currently its a popular theory that they are the creature in the nintendo trailer, as the storyboard had them with massive horns and they have a single glowing eye.
can you show me?
here's a semi canon take of mine
(the concreteness of it may get erased someday soon if the devs retcon some major details)
they looked so beautiful 😭 what if they could speak english?
That would be a mindblowing twist!
damn @compact shale, i wont be able to be around in here for a few days, maybe longer......
i cant do the fifth quest right away; I haven't even done the fourth, so once reset hits i gotta mute this chat till my cousin finally gets online and plays with me
hmm, that depends on your usage of the word cos the classically Greek eidola are phantom images of the person, not necessarily the person themselves (although that's very very debatable), whereas popular culture just took it as "cool word for ghost" and ran off with a variety of interpretations.
on one hand, you could say eidolon could be the umbrella term for ghost of any sort or you could get really specific with it and say it's a specific thing. I lean on the "it's a specific thing" camp mostly cos i'm one of those darned popular culture writers who's been using it for my original WIPs
arguably, spirit memories are eidola while the spirit themself isn't necessarily.
(ah yes, infodumping about spirituality, can you tell i studied this?)
Fascinating, and yes
damn Walt Whitman, he got the plural wrong
also realizing that winged light are eidola. or children of light – the humanoid shape winged light has before skykids snatch them up? those are eidola.
OOoohohhhhhh, interesting
fancy words lol :D
hmm, getting me thinking.
If winged light are "imprints of the children of the light" then they are not necessarily their own thing. Well, they are. However if they're "imprints" it means that they retain memory to some capacity. Could they have the memory of other skykids? Given that winged light changes hands a lot, they could retain memories from a lot of skykids. What would that entail for the skykid currently holding it?
of course "imprint" could just be the shape, hence the shape of what they look like before they're collected.
i'm getting the quote "imprints of the children of light" from the wiki: https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Winged_Light_(Children_of_Light)
There's a theory that those winged lights are the skykids who died in Eden (the statues)
Eidolons sound cooler, change my mind
I heard that theory. I don't think they are the skykids whole selves but rather a part of them that was flung out by the storm after death while their physical bodies remains petrified in Eden. perhaps they're specifically the part that powers them, given that returning winged light to the statues revives them thus allowing them to ascend and the more the skykid has, the more their cape power increases. which would mean there would have to be third part of a skychild that pairs up with the winged light and is brought out of Eden to Orbit.
technically the plural is eidola but english grammar rules are inconsistent so /shrug
damn walt whitman
Has anyone talked about the “sky kids are blind” theory?
a lot... about a week ago
mostly disproven because chibis look up to taller spirits and skykids... literally (their head moves)
But people also say that the masks help them see so it'd still make sense
Ah I've heard
Ohhh I didn’t know that
I never seen this concept arts before.
rather than a what?
theres worse concept art lol
yergh...
That's a krill right ?
C9NCEPT KRILL YESS. I call them leeches lmao
Leeches with teeth
I call them "No-Face but bigger"
anyone done with the latest quest? i expected more from it haha
same
Imagine if those were krills
WHAT IF THE DISASTER HAPPENS AGAIN, THEY GOT NO PROTECTION
That's already the final quest so it won't happen again
I'd say mostly no. Instead, they partly give their buffs to help the sky kid (who I believe is the King/Prince) to travel forward and seek out spirits to help.
does anyone know which spirits appear in the final quest cutscene? also do they appear gold if you ascended them
iirc they're not gold and Rally surely appeared, need to see them again hhhhh
Sanctuary: Butterfly cape and manta suit
Forest: Chibi and lumberjack
That's all I could actually see
Hi folks, how is the latest, and last quest of the season?
I havent done it yet
||where is Martha
||
||Lost||
Hell world. We might never see her again...
Hey everyone. After finishing the final quest, go to the chimesmith island and step on the unfinished wind vane on the table.
Click on the button popping up and fly around.
||A goodbye song ?||
I feel a little behind on lore, who is ||martha?|| im assuming a spoiler character
For those who did not do the final quest, avoid this spoiler:
||Rest in Peace Elder Bird, may you live on in fan art.
In all honestly, why on earth would the season of Flight have a teaser for a bird, have references to the bird leading up to the final quest. But then dissapoint players with just adding mantas? A manta is the most common creature in sky, right after crabs, paper birds, and jellyfish.
The second last quest even had a eden theme playing, a green sky and hints about krill in the area. What happened to those!? Were the krill hints only good for building hype to a manta?
I am sure the devs worked hard on the season and are working hard on the next. Though the elder bird being teased and then not added is a let down,||
Me too
Same although im very glad it wasnt as intense as tlp's final quest cnjxjx
ye, the last quest is kinda disappointing
Teases birds, ||only adds new birds in quests as fragments||
Builds tension about krill for a month, ||No krill, just dark plants (that are buggy).||
I dont know if id say im disappointed, i think my brain just got carried away in the wait but i can see how ppl would want more for it, its a valid reaction! Im sure the devs worked as hard as they could
What work ?
What happened to the creature that was hinted throughout the whole Season of Flight?
Ok I admit I'm being dramatic, because I still love this season to bits, but I stand my ground the ending was severely underwhelming given the buildup.
Most of the serotonin was gotten from seeing Apologetic Lumberjack on a boat.
same, season is pretty cool
still sad about Martha birb
The season of Red Herrings was good, until the ending ruined the tension it was building up over the 70 days, and all of that because there were no
and
in the season area.
And no, the twitter art and memory fragments do not count.
SEASON OF RED HERRINGS???? kwkwkwkwk
Jffjjfshhssh thats good
Since the devs said this season is gonna have lasting effects iirc i wonder if its setting up to have big bird later? Although maybe not
The quests are just-
Probably meant the wind paths. Like, the tunnels.
but ye, it’s like: Hey! Your [fav. actor] is gonna be in this movie!!!!!!! movie comes out and no signs of the actor
also, what happened to the dark manta
sky lore enthusiasts begging for crumbs
Biggest mistake when adding Martha into promotional art which made us being overwhelmed
It definitely feels a little strange to go from something big like tlp's finale to this but this is only my second season so i dont really know what to expect ^^' I'll leave that to the lore experts
I am a little sad we never saw big bird
Then the film director defends with saying the actor was in the film.
But only for less than a second and way back in the background.
Begs for lore crumbs, gets paper confetti.
I hongy, where the lore crumbs-
tgc: [very innocently] what lore crumbs?
The lore crumbs you promised at the end of the trailer-
Sorry skykid, your lore is in the next season. 🍄 🏰
tgc: oh that! well it’s actually uhh— [proceeds to gives candles] noone needs to know that
That's what they say with every season, it feels like
What sort of lore would you guys like to see in a future season? Im rlly new to the lore side of things so other than basic stuff i dont know much
tgc: oh the info from the promotional art? They're just for fun and not canon
Me want lore crumbs!
*Shoves candles away
Gib lore crumbs
King lore and The Fall lore pls (and maybe Megabirb lore)
please
||Tgc: oh king, he can no longer be saved. So how about new season with random lore crumbs (actually nothing)? ||
I sulk the game as long as they have not added the elder bird ...
Oo i definitely wanna know about the king! And megabird! I get keeping the story intentionally vague but,,please,,,its a shame for good concepts to not be expanded on a little at least!
light awaits lore. But not in the game (it would be ruined by the grind and marketing)
But instead either as a animated feature, or in a book.
In that format, it could be marketed and generate profit, but not taint the content with IAP and marketing shenanigans,
A short comic of sky could be rlly cool i think!
Remember when some of us thought the prophecy guide in promotional art was prince?
we did?
The only lore crumb I got:
i did
damn
Lunberjack 👍
Weeee
How is your cutscene so buggy it doesn't do our chill king justice, compare with mine
WAIT NVM THE HAT AND CAPE ARE THE SAME SHADE
Why do they come out the forest tunnel tho
The waterfall behind:
My brain is small and I am not very smart
Rallying Thrillseeker shows up again :0
Wait, why is there another boat behind lumberjack and pioneer then ???
Maybe its cause more spirits use the Wind Paths too??? Idk
Imagine what a traffic jam would be like.
Looks like a purple cape, maybe it's dismayed hunter ? I gotta get my recording, maybe pausing a bit later gives us a better view
Nah, it's red. Thought the only red-caped spirit from forest I can think of is Hairtousle teen, so teens driving boats canon ??? Or Hairtousle being an older teen canon lol.
They're alone too
I mean- it makes sense
.........
Theres no big bird
Im pretty disappointed, why all the forshadowing?
I don’t think TGC can decide whether spirits used to be living ancestors who died and left spirits, or whether they are just spirits, period, who still reside in the Sky world. These quests made it feel like we’re helping them right now, not a spirit memory.
But if I try to go hang out with seasonal spirits, they aren’t exactly there, just a spirit memory to revisit.
I wonder if they cut some unfinished content, especially with the Light Whisperer and big bird.
I mean where i live you have to be 15 in order to drive
So, two things, the large horned mantas of sanctuary are 100% canon (along with the peaceful crabs, there are two in the wasteland idle wax area) and mantas can breath (at least some do, wether they NEED to remains to be seen.
Good point... @ Ktjn#8721 Where is the big bird (I want to ping them but I know I can't...)

That would have made so much sense story wise to be a climax. And what is really frustrating is WHY DID THEY HINT IT SO MUCH. INCLUDE IT IN ARTS, ADD ITS EMOTE RIGHT NOW. they should have not hinted at things not to be added!
Glad I’m not alone with being disappointed with the last season’s cutscenes. The boats went by so quickly that i couldn’t catch which spirits where on them.
I wanted to see a large sprite bird not just a manta… Hopefully, next season will give us more lore
It glitch out on me and I couldn’t record the cut scene
Can you reply the memory?
Ok like
The lore behind the king where you have to hug him as a sign of forgiveness and its suppose to be like
Forgiveness in yourself i heard but
I hate hugging the king
I dont want to forgive him for destroying the sky world by his greed
It annoys me to hug him and Im glad I can do expression to interrupt the hug emote for him so he just hugs himself and its like "yes hug yourself you lonely jerk"
on last comment on the last quest of the season.
And not meaning to disrespect the developers for the work put into the season.
It feels like that something went awry with development of the season and then the bird was cancelled somehow.
In all honestly, the finally of the season feels a lot like a mediocre refresh of a daily quest where you save mantas.
RIP Elder Bird.
you think there's any reason the mantas in the switch trailer are going towards eden?
I asked beta chat. I hope its ok to say now that its not beta anymore. They said it was never in the thing to begin with. Maybe it was cut in planning.
Was the elder bird originally in the beta cutscene?
In Season of rythme there was a big bird thingy
TGC cant not put the big bird in the ending of two seasons. Each ending should be unique that why we dont see the big bird in season of flying
Then why is it in promo art
I'm pretty sure, originally, Eden used to be the point of rebirth for every creature in the kingdom. It was a place void of corruption and that's why the animals would go there
Until the king polluted it and made it all go big boom
things other than skykids can be reborn?
Yes, all light creatures, however the journey there was never as perilous as it is in modern day Sky
Im confused
, wouldn't spirits not be, you know, spirits if they can be reborn?
I expect way more angst from this game than it's willing to give
though tbf that pained manta cry broke my heart
Thats what I asked them. It was not. It was only in artworks just as it ended up.
wonder how darkness plants end up catching light creatures. do seeds of darkness land on the creatures and grow on them, weighing them down? or do darkness plants just grow wherever and if a light creature gets too close, it becomes entangled in it?
I think that it's if they get too close to a place of darkness, like how near the end of forest, underneath the bridge there is a manta surrounded in darkness. Maybe it touched the water and darkness started to grow around it? We may never know
Or another example, (eden spoilers) ||when we die at the end we're covered in darkness so maybe the mantas were dying bc of the darkness and eventually got stuck in darkness plants||
But that bird is not accessible anyway. The cutscene is not repayable and as far as new players are concerned it does not exist.
Idk if this is the best place to put this but I FOUND MY FIRST OOB AN ITS SUPER PRETTY 💞
thank you, for clarifying
Little theory about the kids on eden is coming tomorrow ||maybe||
Okok, idk if this makes any sense but it seems legit to me....I was like, chatting with my friend...and they gave this awesome theory on skykids...so like...skykids don't have a gender and are born from falling stars...I bet this could be an epic theory with more evidence and stuff!
I know theres some lore discussion regarding the King, and i saw that some of the previous comments touched on the burnt out skykid at the end of Eden / beginning of Orbit being them, and hugging them as a sign of forgiveness and such--
I have this hc that the skykids are pieces of light that fell when the King's flame burnt out, similar to how your winged light drops when youre hit by a Krill or a red rock. And also that, slowly, through each rebirth, someday your light will be strong enough to reign as the next Elder of Eden. Kind of Andy Weir "The Egg"-esque. Ive got a whole bunch of pieces that i think point to it/back it up, but mainly--- the other Elders bow to you at the end of the Vault, just before Eden, almost like they know you're on your way to return to your throne
That makes a lot of sense to me! I had a similar thought but i wasnt sure how to put it into words
Yeah! Its really fun to explore. It makes sense as to why your friends constellation- full of other skykids- is the crown, too. And why you get your 'spark' back, so to say, after you hug The King, as you are one and the same.
And the golden figure in the Cave of Prophecies is implied to be you (to me at least) and those seem pretty implicative to me.
I also wanted to ask-- Does anyone have any theories as to why the Isle of Dawn Elder isnt on the Eden gate?
What if he saw the prince as a threat of sorts? I heard there was a relationship between the prince and the elder.
Ive seen some theories that the Dawn Elder used to be the King's advisor, disagreed with their decisions, and was ousted, hence why their mask is broken and their Isle is so small and... well... nearly uninhabited
But there were a lot of tents in the Nintendo trailer and it was bigger
I have a theory that isle is a place of rest for those on a pilgrimage to Eden.
isle elder actually raised the king
lemme pull up the info card from one of the streams
Oooh! I would love that!
Im very new to interacting with the community, so I havent many resources (ive saved some of the links earlier in the chat, but im only so fast haha)
king/prince is referred to as One here btw 👀 ngl its p funky and could b a reason why we don’t see the isle elders mask on the eden gate
they didn’t wanna lock away their son in eden </3
Just out of curiosity is there more of these 🌝
Ohhhh thats so sad I love that so much TTuTT
Im really fascinated at how so many different hc's have come from this game and then comparing them to what we have from the staff, and to see just how wide the impressions are
Wait so…the other Elders came after the Isle Elder? Also this is really interesting
Isle Elder creates sky kids
??
sadly we didn’t get any more of these in the presentation it was shown in ( can’t remember if it was the gdc or gnomon one) 😔
O o f. Someday maybe
wait speaking of the king/prince actually can i offer y’all a scrap of concept art
This all started with me being obsessed with the crabs, then finding the friendly crabs and then feeling bad for the darkness-ified crabs, and then worrying about the skykid you hug (the King, before i knew of the King lol), and now im over here sad xD
((Its a good sad xD))
4 me it started w being interested in the elders and it all spiraled from there and now im sitting here wringing out the game like a towel for the lore
Murals go brr
random theory: the sky citizens are all creatures made from stone, with some sort of internal light candle keeping them alive. its why ur eyes glow. they need so much help flying everywhere is because they drop like rocks. its why u turn to stone when ur out of light, its because without it you are nothing but a statue, same goes for other citizens. idk random thoughts
this concept tsadi (wasteland elder) lives rent free in my head
love how they had the spider theme
I couldn't quite copy the message link since im on mobile, but I shared the sketches for the project im working on on #sky-fanart-sketches-and-art-chat as to why i was asking about the Dawn Elder and the gate haha
Do any other kingdoms exist outside of the sky kingdom?
I love spider theme Tsadi it even is still in the later designs. Im just so happy hes not a human arm actual mutant spider anymore
We get some spider with the Season of Prophecy haha
I like the smaller design of this mask though. A lot of prophecy mask look suspiciously like concept art
Im very happy they got to use it in some way! Its kind of fun to see how it grows too
I still got a list of concept cosmetics I would scream if I saw
//are there concept Krill cosmetics cause ive seen some fan ones and i would yell
Nopey. Lots of stuff with pointy ear horn things though
Ooooooooh i will take it xD
this geezer is so rectangular
T mask
I want these pants and masks aaaaa
Maybe…
I have a dark theory.
What if the light children are from earth- yk you could already guess what I’m gonna say, so ima leave it here
Are you saying they yknow….and got transported to the Sky Kingdom?
What happened to them..
There’s actually a concept art about the life cycle and I think it mentioned that souls pass through Earth and then Sky, probs not canon anymore but I like your theory, it’s pretty dark
Yeh! There has to be SOME way we take are form into a humanoid kid
Maybe it’s because Megan made skids resemble spirits idk
😭 when I read Megan I thought of Megan Thee Stallion in sky
Lol
Anyways, I also like to think in ||orbit|| when it says ||”you are about to be reborn” it’s giving the skykid another chance in the human realm before returning back to sky realm||
If they pick the human realm do they just wake up in Earth?
Maybe, and they get to restart life all over again, it’s like a cycle
I see
I did the last quest yesterday and...
More than feeling happy, I think I truly registered what the QGs felt--to never join their folks again.
Also, I think that the dark manta was manta half transitioning to the Krill or something, and I didn't ever expect it to help us hh (I was thinking it could be more like us knocking it out and healing it after)
Or maybe the dark manta was a bug after all
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
it's elaborately planned and--and no, I refuse to accept that
I wonder if they’ll ever implement the minor instances of modern day stuff we say in the concept art
I would love a season of uh...hhhh.......inheritance. Like uncovering a secret city that was completely modern but left incomplete or something. Like it would be the hight of their tech, but so close to their downfall that it was never finished.
I’m also talking about the stuff you see in Tom zhao’s work
I love and adore that one bus stop with the fishes yes yes yes
By helping them with their errands, you were able to help them heal from the regret of them being unable to protect the Wind Paths in the past. With this final wish fulfilled, they finally agree to ascend. Your mission is now a little bit closer to completion.
Hopefully that wasn’t a bug-
why
Yea imagine thinking you can finally ascend with your friends or family, but now you’re just stuck in a fallen kingdom with kids
If it isn't a bug, it will prob. appear now 💀
Bahaha. I need switch to come back online so I can go find this legendary dark manta and also apparently a small plane?
Plane? PLANE?!
Been seeing photos of it scattered about. Tiny little plane. Somewhere oob in flight map.
If you find it tell where it is I want to visit too.
The little plane would be drifting above the flight paths' cloud canopy/ceiling. I believe there's a hole somewhere in the clouds that lets you fly above and get to the top where the plane is. (Noobmode on youtube's done a video on it before, I think?)
I'll ink this drawings to be clearer later but anyway...
Aw all used to see eden kids and maybe you noticed that they have different capes, their capes looking like belonging capes but I'm sure they are different... Those Skykids could be a skykids lived in the realms before long time, their world was more peaceful than now, but they are stronger than our skykids, they could have a swords or spears and they have a good relation with the creatures more than us, also their capes have no stars on the back... Coz their light was stronger than they need a stars even
Ah yes, the mysterious hypothetical first generation of Skykids...
Here is the inked drawing
Tell me your thoughts about the theory guys
What's the theory regarding the anatomical nature of skykids?
Bred 🍞.
what
No I really want to know
Just as a reference point
In case something causes lorechat to implode
Aha I honestly have no idea, not on lore chat often xD what do you think?
Well as far as I've heard
-we are made of clay/porcelain
-we are hollow, there is light inside of us
-the masks could be hiding something
-we're not organic
(lore veterans help me please)
We are not made of clay/porcelain. If we were, then we would uhh shatter everytime we bump into smthn /hj
Augmented clay/porcelain. Augmented with what? With light.
the new intro says that the spirits fell after the kingdom was created. So like, what did they fall from and to?
wait what, can anyone send me the new intro cause I forgot. anyways, imo they fell from orbit
the old intro said that they fell from orbit, but it was swapped to after the kingdom was built in the new one.
This is indeed very confusing. There is a fellow lorechat member who would agree, but they're not here right now.
I think skykids are made of a rocks from star... When the story said : "wake up child", and that part we fall from the sky... We are not made of light for sure coz we have a shadow (unlike our capes which don't have a shadow coz it is a light)
I would like to hear more theories about skykids and first generation of skykids
I feel boring of hearing alot about eden king... If you have a theories please tell me
I like to think wl are skykid fragments (-: I’m too tired to explain why though I’m going to snep snorp
I want to also casually mention the whale
breaking the Valley-like wall, which I assume to be a part of Eden...it's like those creatures also metaphorically caused damage to the skyworld.
Also, very contrasting idea: can darkness be supplied to old darkstones to make realms look more appealing (darkness came from storing butterflies in pots--those butterflies were used to be treated in medical areas) and after there were too many light creatures (by too many, I don't mean types but the population), so they created the modern darkstones that run by Light to bring balance?
I think that too... Like each winged light we find carries a memories for a skykid who lived in the past!
I used to think about that, coz I wanna draw something about that hehe
Is that what do you mean?
I used to think that the whale break the wall to show that they got freedom from eden darkness or something like that
All hail the king
Was there a set amount of time before skids came to the sky after Eden started?
Timelines are strange
Oh yes. Prenc who became the keng later on
late to the question.
Skykids could be like golems, but over time, develop a soul that allows the skykid to be reborn.
g-g-golems??
Sorta-crack-headcanon: What if the statues we save in Eden are previous Skykids who ended up in the pity room before they reached Eden?
yup. like the greek myth.
Or even a spin off of Pinnochio.
A puppet that is determined to become a real child.
A headcanon (a hypothesis) that what if skykids can become real children, they can bring the past back to life.
Could be...
I have a few sky ocs
not necessarily reborn, but able to ascend, same as the ancestors, who clearly need to do something mentally life changing for themselves in order to ascend
the Sky or the darkness splitting the Sky is what makes Stars fall as new Beings (be reborn)
the *chosen one
canonically, we dont truly know yet if the chosen one who defeated the trials is the king/prince
Silence fiend, have you not heard of the holy trinity?
Resh (king)
Alef (prince) chosen one
Darkness came, and then the stars fell.
While skykids can keep some of the darkness at bay, they need help to drive back the darkness. Both spirits and light creatures were seen helping skykids during the season of flight, and enchantment shows this.
The skykids best ability is to give light back to the fallen, and help spirits ascend. And after each run through eden, the skykid can be reborn and return to the world to keep doing their work.
skykids and ancestors are actually just Children of the Light, beings of pure Light, but somehow, they gained these shells that seem to be made from the Earth itself, when they fell down to this world
inside, they are still beings of pure Light, but now they have these clay-like outer exteriors, that give them a more physical form
It's like Christianity but so much cooler
Holy Spirit
/
Father ---- Son
So, in Sky terms, it could be:
Megabird
/
Resh ----- Alef
I will cry and force others to cry if you compare the Megabird to the almighty King
the skykid will be reborn every time it dies anyways raiden, but only with the power of the wisdom gained from helping the spirits, the magical strength of the Elders, and the Light we've gained from winged light, can we Ascend
we can't ascend without all of that, but we are reborn at the Sky's whim the moment we walk through those pearly gates
The king feels more like a fatherly figure than a spirit.
Besides, would a holy spirit bring darkness to the world through corruption?
The king's role in sky is (for the most part) unknown, so any interpretation of them could be possibility! However, it doesn't seem like the King and the Megabird were on the best terms to me atleast based on the limited concept art I've seen of the game.
True that there is very little evidence of the king himself, let alone with the megabird.
The only image I know in the game is the water mural that surrounds the portal to Office. Which depicts a human figure with a glowing head, holding an orb and riding a boat; and the megabird is circling on the other side.
it doesn't??
yeah we know literally nothing about megabird lmao, unless you have something?
Isn't that the image that's in the water at the secret door?
Slightly related I just noticed how much Megan looks like a tree
You can see what may be megabird in Orbit and after the end credits
in that image or in general
also, the poor designers lmao
they cant make anything vaguely shaped like a giant bird without the lore people going AK ELDBLFBDF ITS RKLRN IT'S BITD MEGABIRF
- in that image
- why else would the ancestors draw a giant bird, if it's not Megan?
Elder bird?
Well there's this image from the end of the game! Although to be fair it may very well not be the Megabird the narrator at the beginning of the game may or may not also be Megabird depending on your interpretation
sometimes pretty things exist to look pretty, rather than create a sense of consistent plot, fam
actually
that's literally everything in this entire game lol
it's all just meant to look pretty and catch your eye enough that you stay and buy things, without actually ever needing to face giving weight to anything put into the game
remember kids, TGC doesn't care about the story (as much) :D
more like tgc wants to keep the story vague for players to make up their own lore. But forget that players will do that no matter what and prefers having the canon lore to work off, instead of pieces of vague lore.
they say that the story being vague is intentional raiden, and it is, but the mechanical purpose is the one i just spoke of; they use the explanation you have there as an excuse vehicle for Sky's mobile game purposes
I meant in-universe
Noted.
Thanks Tam
"this is my official direct answer lolol
Who knows....
pantheism is believing that everything that composes reality is divine/god thus divinity is within reality itself and every single thing.
this is different from panentheism, which is the belief that the divine/god is in everything
its more like my belief is that every LIVING creature of Light makes up the divine reality of the Sky
the darkness and corruption, and the Earth, aren't really connected to the Sky, but we can see that the darkness affects the Light, and that the Light can create/replicate the elements of the Earth (the skychild is also able to use the Light to burn away the darkness covering everything)"
--my take
That's a pretty good answer! I honestly like that one a lot more then my original interpretation
oh well im not trying to force my ideas on anyone lolol, it's just nice for all of us to share
Hold on why do I feel like I've seen this somewhere in sky before?
(the image i mean)
its in the entrance to Office
here is a screenshot of it:
I thought to share the concept art instead, since the head of the human figure is hidden.
Now, this could be unintentional, though I like to think the game is actively hiding the king. Either to delay giving lore about him for later in the game, or make it clear someone is trying to erase his existence.
what's your interpretation speaking of lol
I feel like sky will reveal some lore parts sooner or later, flight has so much information in comparison to other seasons, not to mention the fact that they introduced the spirits and that flight guide was an apprentence for prairie elder, which is information that we’ve never been given before
Elders could’ve all or maybe trained apprentices
I haven’t done to new quest yet since I’m going to be busy for the next three days but I’m feeling like the next quest will also have important lore segments, but also,
How I’ve managed to dodge spoilers? I don’t know
God speed, bud.
If you want to, please do share your thoughts after you done them.
Chibi slide
Can spirits be reborn?
not as far as I know, no.
Spirits needed to be helped/saved, then guided to orbit/ traded with to unlock a wing buff to become an ascended spirit.
An ascended spirit can be seen in Orbit, though they are never seen approaching or passing through the portal.
Spirits may still appear in the world after they are saved, though this might be because they want to help the skykids before passing on (a head canon)
that isn't much actual lore though that's just new story
what I mean is that it doesn't feel any blanks or answer any questions we already had it's just like oh yeah by the way here's a new character when we haven't even finished explaining the other one
Hm, why would they take a pilgrimage to eden then?
we dont know, but i assume that when they ascend they become Stars in the Sky again; just blank Children of the Light, and CotL may be sent back down to the world by the Sky to help with the CotL's mission of freeing all spirits of the kingdom
Before becoming spirits, possibly to see the king or achieve a goal of reaching the top of the mountain. Which would be similar to real life pilgrimages.
As spirits, possibly to help ascend to Orbit as we see them along the way while the skykid ascend themselves to orbit.
before becoming spirits, i dont think there's any solid evidence of the spirits having a larger goal of a pilgrimage towards Eden, just towards any of the temples, because those temples are where they can ascend
as spirits, they are still ascended at their Elder's temples, but we can see them ascending with us in the gateway to the Sky right before Orbit
This last quest kind of prove one of my theory
That we can get wax from a darkplant only if it has killed/absorbed a big amount of light liveforce
So It could mean that in each dark plant we burn we saves many lost souls
That, or the quest made the plants unable to drop wax, since the rocks were temporary, and so were the plants.
Even if the dark plant were to drop wax, it would encourage skykids to repeat all of the season quests (or the last 2 ones at least) to get the wax every day.
Frankly, I would prefer the other dark plant model that appeared in the cutscene. Because it was still a dark plant, and one the skykids would recognise can be burned, but wont get wax. This type of burning plant part of the quest is just too similar to a normal interaction in forest (saving mantas from dark plants), which feels too simple for a final quest of the season. 😦
in the game trailer they say that dark plants take your light away, so maybe these plants just want to consume light so that they aren’t in darkness anymore? That’s kinda my idea on krill as well
I kind of liked instead. It seems to implied they were someone able to repel the propagation of dark spores to the other realms (after all WindPaths is connected to all of them)
Yes of course that could be just a game mechanism as you said, but I think the only other place where dakrpplant get a similar example is in 1st Assembly Quest , where I think the darkness was able not to drain lightforce from living beings but rather the emotional bond with objects ( shield us to see their memory)
Plus the fact there's Spirits on boats in the end of the quest gives me the idea that they were able to repel that disaster pretty quick (and we only relive it) saving the wild live and allowing the whole SkyKingdom to mantain their windpaths network after the Eden Cataclysm
Apologetic Lumberjack and HnS Pioneer were golden-colored in my cutscene since I ascended them, so my opinion is that the final cutscene is present day and not a flashback.
Dark plants tend to grow in places that is not in direct sunlight (with some exceptions), and places associated with negative energy/moments in time.
For instance, the light miner memory is full of sorrow, so there are plenty of plants growing in it.
The mantas caught in the plants could be related to the hunter possibly shooting them down. The only evidence to support this is mantas exist in nearly every realm (including cosmic mantas), are a large creature that is easy to spot and attract, and a possible source of food for spirits (given the ancestors eat crabs, so could eat other creatures).
The plants trapping light creatures could be the game's way to suggest the plants can catch and attempt to take the light of creatures, similar to a Venus fly trap, except the game does not show how the plants are holding on to the creatures.
I agree with what you said, the plants not only grow in places where it can drain the light from creatures "but rather the emotional bond with objects."
Perhaps that could be a reason to why emotions are so important in the game.
Us skykids start out with not emotions, but can quickly learn from spirit memories to develop a personality and an identity of our own.
We spend time with the spirits to improve on the emotes we got from the memory alone (the level 2 emotes and above), and develop a friendship with the spirit to the extend they would allow us to pass through spirit gates, and even give an extra winged light (wing buff) for our next lives.
During, light awaits, skykids would gather and carry emotes. When they get hurt, skykids would lose emotes instead. This could have been the game's way of showing how important emotes are to skykids, it is the emotions they carry that the skykids cherish. Though since it could be tedious to reclaim spirit memories and would make spirit memories limited for the sake of recollection, the winged light were likely implemented to fill in that role, though possibly not replace the role of emotes.
I like your idea, though am not sure how far to take this theory of emotes being very important to the plot.
I don't think being ascended can be counted as a clue, butthat could be one way of seeing it.
IMHO take in mind that sometimes the spirits seemed to live together in the same time even ages ago!
Between all spirits in Skater Girls there were some spirit from Rhythm (not sure if ther was the Duck pianist or simply the Juggler, but if it was the latter they first one were implied to lived the same era) or the mix of regular spirits + seasonal spirits in Yeti's memory and the "skate competition" of in Valley Ice Rink (where the same spirit over the Ice Rink, where she s a mother with the kid, is together with the Gratitude Fox Mask)
My main interpretation is that somehow, even if Wasteland was a mess after the Eden Cataclysm, the 6 Realms kept their "ordinary" life. Till they maybe realized the Darkness took a toll on their "when we were united" interconnection.
Then something slowly derailed (maybe natural death but without being able to fully become spirits and connect with each other)
Btw, congrats for this wonderful masterpiece

I'm not sure I quite understand your theory, a seasonal spirit interacting with a sedentary one or one from another season may not mean all spirits lived at the same time; it's possible cheerful spectator, bearhug hermit and leaping dancer did live around the same era, but the possibility of spirits coming from different eras doesn't disprove that.
Wait it's in the present?!
I'm assuming that since the spirits couldn't have been ascended before the player (=whoever recorded that cutscene) arrived.
Oh
I was thinking those weren't actually the spirits, they were Flight's memories of the spirits
In the case of my "Last Wish" theory, what happened to the Flight spirits was that in the past, they weren't able to protect the paths and died due to the darkness in them. But by doing the quests with them, we can help them do what they wish they did, and with this they get fully resolved and they can ascend.
Ok random theory ‘bout the dark creatures that I’ve definitely said before about the dark dragons.
So! How did the dark creatures become dark?
Let’s start with the dark dragons. I think they starved, continuously krilling the sky children out of desperation. After all; the two realms we ever see them in are the Golden Wasteland and the Eye of Eden. We see many large skeletons in the graveyard, and Eden just explains itself. There’s barely anything alive there other than the dark creature crabs, and the SKYKIDS. They could have also turned dark due to the other theory I have for the crabs.
So the crabs. They’re EVERYWHERE. Every realm. (Except Isle, I believe?)
But just think of EXACTLY where they are. In Prairie, they’re in a cave in the Sanctuary, in Forest, they’re in the hide-and-seek-spirit cave and the temple, in Valley, they’re in the maze in the temple, (sparkler spirit location) in Wasteland, they’re.. well.. everywhere.. in Vault, they’re in the purple light belonging area, (wise stance spirit) and in Eden, they’re everywhere. REALLY think about this now. Where are they? In caves. In buildings. ANYWHERE with a roof, blocking them from the sunlight. (Except for wasteland kind of, but in the enchantment quests we very clearly bring actual sun into the area, cyan light I believe? So the wasteland may be permanently dark. Possibly same for Eden.) And the 2 crabs we see in direct sunlight, in sanctuary, are docile. They don’t attack you. So they may have gotten corrupted from lack of sunlight! (And yes, you can flip them and pick ‘em up, but I think that’s mostly for laughs haha)
Well you made it to the end of my theory, so, hello.
Dark crab vampires :0
thats an amazing thing to point out
cos there are hostile crabs in sanct, but only in the dark
however, you're saying the Light Dragons starved and began eating everything and everyone alive??

I.. guess?? Dang I didn’t think of it like that..
If it makes anyone feel better it could also be the other theory
Wow I like your theory
oh yeah guys i have a new observation
id want it to be an actual argument to the clayshell theory but its kiiiinda a stretch so please give your thoughts folks
When we slide on ice, we SCRAPE against it
Like, hard
It wouldn't/shouldn't work like that, unless our bodies are literally made of concrete
It can't be argued that it's our boots or anything; canonically, we all look like moths until otherwise, so that means we're barefoot, and bare feet would not scrape the ice like that
In conclusion, we have to be made of some kind of malleable rock
And that rock would be somewhat augmented with light/magic so that we can be a bit more flexible when we need to
Possibly from the Megabird?
Makes sense
enchanted would be the word ill use
@rugged jackal from the Light in general ye, but imo I dont think we're directly tied to the Sky when we fall down as if we're some kind of puppets
I think we are our own Stars/CotL, with our own Earthen vessels
Our own earthen vessels?
Do I not exist???
hEh????
noooo lol im saying we are our own beings lol
we were born by the Sky's will to save the spirits, but it doesn't directly control us or what we do
otherwise we'd focus a lot more on our mission instead of vibing 97% of the time lolol
Oh boi existential crisis
OHHH ok that makes sense
but yeah the main reason this is a stretch is because it's just a tiny little game detail
(after all that's what ill be saying over and over again to everyone in the winter during the next lorechaos, right fruity? @_@)
existential crisis has been averted
I agree that we are like charcoal
Charcoal? Isn't that extremely flammable?! That doesn't seem like a good idea for a being who desires to commit arson every day
A being who desires to commit arson everyday??

I mean, yes
Hello everyone!
I‘m entirely new to the sky lore and community and just read smth about the kind and the war and some player that got extremly close to the core in eden and i have googled all night but i cant find the entire story
To be fair no one actually truly knows the entire story due to how vague it is
Yeah i figured! But theres a therory that gets really close right?
can't really determine what's "really close" to canon when canon is really vague
What i mean by that is what people interpreted into the pieces we get of walls, the buildings, ancestor storys etc
People can create different stories but none of them can be definitively proven true
there are definitely cohesive theories that spell out a whole story based on the evidence present
Yes thats what i mean
Is there like a famous headcanon patched history? I saw people reference certain key words a lot
That would be very nice!
henlo i am here too
There really isn’t much truly, definitively canon, you kind of just make up your headcanon as you go. None of them are really the same.
You can start from a lot of places. Good luck lore moff
Thank you!:)
hahahaha the link is censored
Lololol
bird cloud
Maybe it's because that Tumblr has datamined lore idk
@boreal bane who made that ic?
Do you want to know about the King?
Well I know I do
I know nothing about that
tgc just posted this on their twitter https://www.thatskygame.com/news/the-art-of-season-of-flight-and-a-challenge-for-sky-photographers
ah it does, end me
the old concepts say the elders are charcoal but i think its more symbolic and metaphorical than literal
they could be made from anything but ✨magic✨ prevents its natural properties from impeding it in negative ways
I've been working on a project where I analyze the intro and only acknowledge what's actually concrete I can make out of it
I'm trying to prove my take is canon so it's still very controversial
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sNuL12VgxIoRl57s-bkYFiAg1a7D42n8WvsaiPNyzI4/edit?usp=drivesdk
This is exactly what i was looking for !!!!
no one knows anything about the king tho
He’s basically a character that is mentioned and referenced multiple times (like the Prophecy murals) He was most likely related to diamond technology and other technological advancements. His concept name is Resh and the concept name of the Prince is Alef (The Prince is probably the figure we see after we die in Eden). I can type some more if you want
thing is, no one can prove anything is canon without it being canon
I heard the soundtrack when we hug the child after we die in eden is called King.hug
But lord its sure is fun to speculate
illegal content
I dont know i just saw it in a twitter comment section :0
Forest elder: *yanks your light offering
Forest elder:
🔨
The concept art for the season is so cool
Nice they putting the concept art
Without world map
Why the slow mod longer and longer
I like to imagine all the wonderful and cool things they cut they had to cut because of limitations even though they try to hide it by saying “we went in a different direction”. But I giant cloud crystal bird, seems obviously too ambitious.
Please type more! This makes so much sense
some things from concept art or removed content I imagine in-universe tho some things in-game aren't in-universe.
writer brain
It looks so beautifulll
So pretty!!
if this got implemented, I wonder what would the staff do, maybe control the diamonds
I like the storm entrance. and that yellow tunnel thing. AND THE GIANT CLOUD CRYSTAL BIRD. But im happy they didnt go with the race hoops. Looks like another boring flight race.
they said it would be to point and direct stuff
Yeah recycled Assembly Quest 6.
What are the diamonds again?
tbh, the hoops would fit more to Flight than Assembly
Yeah, from what I can tell I don't think the Assembly kids were doing much flying with those hoops either. We've only seen them interact with one ONCE and that interaction is... Daydream using it as a floating swing. ARgh.
assembly spirits prob thought of that idea after meeting the skykids. some fun just for them as a thanks
Im overall happy with this season. I think the cosmetics are some of the best ever. I think the addition of shortcuts is something drastically needed. I even liked the last quest well enough. But the biggest hit is lack of all the themes the season was based around to begin with like birds and creatures. The bird is in the final quest in my hearts version at least
So... what were they using it for BEFORE we came?
they weren't using it cos it wasn't a thing. they didn't think of it back then cos there prob weren't any skykids and if there were, there either wasn't a lot of them or they couldn't fly
How could it NOT be a thing before we came? I thought they built it before?
Idk if there are a lot of things to say, but a lot of people claim he was responsible for the kingdom’s fall, barely anything is confirmed tho. Oh yea btw the kid in Ushering Stargazer’s memories might’ve been the Prince
assembly spirits used skykids' help to assemble a treehouse then and there, so either they didn't make a treehouse before becoming spirits or they did but it fell apart over time before the skykids showed up to the point it wasn't a treehouse anymore.
Ye
I think it's the second one. There are treehouse ruins at the start of the season :U
Really??
Did you participate in Assembly?
And Pothat looks at his pendant and to the banner as if his pendant and the banner are related. As if he knows who owned it before.
When none of that was ever touched on again we kinda just heaved a collective sigh.
Yep
Ohhh I remember now I read that wrong sorry
An owner? There was a former owner?
Yeppy. You restore the treehouse. It has a banner on it with Guides logo. He realizes its the same so hes prolly not the one who put it there.
The theory is it might have been his parents or something, maybe the lighseekers as kids, if you believe the lightseeker/assembly mask theory.
from the blog post
The Flight Guide outfit was envisioned as ornate in reflection of their status leading their group, originally carrying a staff they carry to help guide their flock of creatures through the Wind Paths
I like the Flight spirit concepts without masks
Oh darnnnn
I don't think we'll touch on the story again tho, TGC's lore for Assembly is finished... the bags will not tell us anything
I think we just got spoiled off of dreams to assume every season was going to have some kind of climax in its finally
In the big scheme of things, Assembly isn't that important sadly
Dreams and Sanctuary were so good because I could spend my entire play session in those areas and not move on
I can care about small individual focused stories as well as massive revelations......but theres not really.....any revelation? Not even for small individual things.
My feeling is that the story of Season of Flight may have been stripped to the bare bones at a late stage
Just the bones... for lorechat... nothing meaty... just like the krill... just bones of their majestic former light forms...
Thats what it feels like. I liked seeing the boats come in. And that it had old spirits. And that boats now fly around. But even beta chat says elder bird was never included in the quest. It might have been cut even before testing.

How do seasons affect lorechat? They can...
- Make us starve (no lore, such as Assembly)
- Feed us well (lots of lore, such as Prophecy)
- Give us morsels (bits of lore, such as Flight)
- Cause lore chat to explode (conflicting entity, such as TLP)
Ash do you have wisdom?
mate was ready with the questions
Hmm (flips through list)
Random question: What is real and what isn't in the Season of the Little Prince?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m nitpicking and loved the season. I had awesome moments with friends in game, just enjoying the moment and the view, and leading them into the paths.
Yeah. Its limitations! Right? Right! Right? R-...right? Im happy for shortcuts and I don’t think theres a single lackluster cosmetic but man. Why tease the elder bird then? Hhh.
Oh, no worries! me peeking in wasnt in response to your comments (and youre totally welcome to have the thoughts you did!)
I still need to find that ittybitty plane
The art is amazing, and everyone I meet is dressed to the nines now. I think we are all sad it’s over because it was so good but those moments were brief.
we do of course always work with limitations with seasons just due to it being a tiny team (I think flight seasons core team was about....4-6 dedicated devs incl myself and then about 10-12 or so other devs who helped out at various points in the season!)
ASH IS HERE???? SH*** oh shoot, i forgot like all of the questions i wanted to ask them now that they're here....
You should list them down next time. :D
I just want to imagine the light krill mantatee things with their lovely massive horns they had in the storyboard. Light creatures need cool horns too!
omg the concept art for SoF is STUNNING gonna think of lore now lmao
I'm sorry for teasing the elder bird in light whispers artwork 😅 If it makes you feel better-I headcanon that LW interacts with most light creatures including the elder bird!
I REFUSE
so even though it didnt show up in the season quests, you can headcanon with me that LW and the EB interact off camera
I guess, I do wonder if giant crystal cloud creatures are a common reoccurrence in the concept artist, since there was also that massive deer in the beginning.
is ok! also, i remembered a couple of questions i had. (at least one lol) in the world of sky, is darkness inherently bad while light is inherently good or is it more of a yin-yang type deal where a balance of them is needed?
Edit: no need to answer if you dont want to/dont know. you can just say you wont reveal that
Hmm, well you cant have light without dark, and dark cannot exist without the concept of light..so take that as you will! I think the introduction of darkness in sky is a little nuanced though and comes into play with the history of the realms, elders, and ancestors
oh nice i love nuance
i forgot the definition of nuance somehow. i need a minute to look it up
vocab time with ash
Baha! I remember Cecil coming up with the answers on the spot like “krill represent balance” before it was revealed they are corrupted. I theorize destruction of light creates darkness, but also vice versa. So they can still beat each other up in cool monster battles.
this was not helpful. ok, well i ask cause i had collecting reasons for why i think darkness isnt auto-bad. should i share them?
Joke question: Can we trust you?
Real question: What is canon to Sky's world and what isn't in the Season of the Little Prince?
nyooans
You can trust me....sometimes
One thing that really worked in Dreams was that we followed that dancer who wasn’t one of the seasonal spirits nor the guide. This middle character made for increased cohesion between the other characters.
hello Ash, we crave for lore crumbs
please, we’ve been starving
well, starlight dessert's opening kinda tells us that the two realms likley had no interacted with eachother till that point. they are only colliding now. "where dreamlike worlds collide". they both existed just without impact to eachother previously
at least, thats what i think
Next season teaser when
Wait can devs actually give lore? Are they forbidden?
Also I believe the best way to interpret Little prince is from your own POV. Whether it be an actual thing that happens in skys world, a meditative dream experience, or an imaginary friend...just like how when you read a story, your takeaway from it may be different from someone elses. Since little prince is at its core a story, i think the same could hold true here
well i cant spill ALL the lore beans
but i can give a bean or two
sometimes

i remember there being a leak of a "season of limeracy" or something before tlp came out. was that something?
nope
limenarcy isnt even a word 😄
so this is a great disclaimer to not always trust unofficial sources
Amoeba more vocab time BAHA
i forgot what the word was but i was making an estimate thing. i remember making jokes about a season of lemonade and a season of literacy
Season of 🍋
as long as lore crumb
yeah the rumored season title wasnt anything! it was just a rumor someone made up
It is now a word associated with all things forbidden. Okay...
What are skykids made of?
good question
Oh I thought this was the translation of the Vault mask
Is the Yeti a retired Axe juggler?
i can't even think of questions, i just froze up that ash is here
so instead, i'll take this as another opportunity to thank you for all the amazing art!!!

I SPELL MY NAME WRONG ON PURPOSE! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? IM A SMALL MICROBE!
im not even sure
limerence is a word, a nice one at that
Are Yeti and Postman a canon couple
disclaimer that i havent been working at tgc since the beginning, only the past 2 years so theres some stuff i havent looked into
Limerence is a state of mind which results from romantic or non-romantic feelings for another person and typically includes obsessive thoughts and fantasies and a desire to form or maintain a relationship with the object of love and have one's feelings reciprocated. Limerence can also be defined as an involuntary state of intense desire.
i wish i could find the video, cause the image in the background looked really cool for a vault thing. it looked grassy but in a floating area like vault.... even if it was fake and stuff, i think it looked neat but i didnt screenshot it and cant find it
it probably got deleted.
best not to give more attention to those faked rumor videos than theyre due, else we'll have people storming TGC's gate asking why we arent making a season of limeracy like we promised
Nice :] I knew he was very talented
Ash, I have a question. The original idea of expanding on Eden was scrapped for this season, but will we actually get more insight about what happened in there / how it was?
it's my first time here in lore chat
i understand that. just wish i had the background photo...
I visited Eden for the first time in a few months and I think the ascent past the floaty castle used to have birds as well, but this time I saw only mantas. It was nice though. The area is so polished now.
the eden tie in was actually INCREDIBLY early in the season development process, while we were in our "blue sky" concepting period! essentially at that point we knew we wanted a season themed about flight...but where it took place and what the story was was still a big mystery
so we were brainstorming a lot
A long while ago Ash also mentioned there was something left unnoticed about the coelacanth/whale. It still burns my mind.
there still is an eden tie in in a way though, because the migration of light is a big element of the Flight season, the spirits duties, purpose of the windpaths, and also the reason why the spirits migrated to that location and why they have the chimes
is there a chance for the tutorial bird to come back to the tree root in forest?
youre somewhat asking the wrong person there cause i dont really put in any 3d elements into the game BUT
i suppose if you're wearing the bird friend from light whisperer, and are in forest.....yes 😉
hmm, are light creatures attracted to certain sounds? hence why bells and chimes summon them?
That's pretty much what Chimesmith's teaser sheet says so yes
was there ever a forest fire in sky?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
The diamond on the main island from the concept art is dope!
I read the chimes are what calls the light creatures and they're the ones who open the wind paths. Guess it makes sense considering what happens in Sanctuary, in the Forest boneyard, and in the villages. I'm still curious though because
I wanna see more of Eden in a future
crossed fingers
You also summon mantas and birds in prairie village with bells, as well as in the sanctuary season quests 😄
yea, that's what I was thinking of.
plus the eden soundtrack! very spooky haha
theres a reason why these spirits used chimes instead of bells though
Bells represent rebirth yeah?
Heard in isle and orbit
but ill let you guys ruminate on the reason why for awhile and hold onto those lore beans 😉
What's the difference between a chime and a bell? Sorry, English isn't my first language and I don't remember
Chimes are smoler?
Not asking but I think the reason is to monitor the wind health
chimes have a specific sound whereas bells can manifest in a variety of ways thus tend to create a rang of pitches
Ah, I can see the confusion if english isnt first language! No worries. So bells can chime-which is maybe why youre confused. but when i speak of chimes, i specifically mean windchimes!
I thought so too, since chimes are smol enough to dance with the wind \o/
and bells i mean those big golden things that spin in prairie village
A wind chime is hanging and rings in the wind. The bells are activated by some way that’s not wind.
ohh wind chimes!! yeah my head was like "but don't bells chime?"

(sorry that we are kinda bombarding you lol)
BEFORE I LOSE THE CHANCE I SHALL SHARE MY MOST STUPIDEST THEORY WITH A DEV!
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Maybe the bells got crab infested like the ones in Switch trailer
skybot wishes that they were a real skykid
Ohhh, that's cool! Alright... are skykids inefficient at their mission?
Hey Ash, if you're still here. Can I ask you a question👉👈
WAIT, GET RESH’D
actually skykids were very important in helping the flight spirits out! everyone was stranded due to time breaking things down, until the skykids showed up and were able to restore the windpaths and the connections within them
the theory is that skybot is the dev-caped kid who is actually the sky prince from concept art. i know the last part is most definitly false especially as office isnt canon but yeah, dumb theory :D
I lowkey think the kid that shows us to the office is the skybot :<
What do you think of this? (a theory about why we do seasonal quests) #lore-discussion-spoilers message
oh that reminds me, why is the mural around the office portal semi covered up so that the prince's head isnt seen? is that on purpose or like unintended?
probably a bug if anything
y'all, writing for something. Is Isle
== Ushering Stargazer or?
I saw Ash here and I thought it was genchat or something
Now it clicks. So our quests were in our life time, not just revisiting spirit memories.
ahh so now the timeline kind of makes sense. I thought for sure seasons happened in the past. But it might probably a mix of both and they're just showing us what happened.... You know what nevermind, I'm still confused
what? sky has bugs? im sure youre surprised to know
but yeah feel free to submit a bug report about it 😛
Oh, btw! I thought Flight was an older season or memory, but the Rallying Thrillseekers was partying hard
Does that mean it's not as old?
Flight season is a mix of both the past and the present 😄
some seasons lean more towards showing just the past, but in this case its kinda an equal mix
the actions you did to help the wind paths take place in your skykids time
can spirits descend to the world even after ascending?
wait the timeline isn't linear???
OK NEXT QUESTION TO ASK! there are 6 statues i call the lost souls. the catapult statue in wasteland and the 5 statues before pnr (two covered in blue crystals and 3 clean ones that can shatter when you get near them) are these all just statues or spirits/skykids/beings petrified like us when we die in eden?
honestly im not sure they were all added before my time 😭
i started playing the game and they were already there
D:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
welp, ok then, thx anyway! :D
wah this is perfect thank you for the lore bread 🍞

I felt like I was dreaming when playing the final quest. Bravo and well done. It was a perfect use of the wind paths space.
Dunno how involved in mural planning you are, but the krill in prophecy mural, was it corrupted before the sky prince began overusing darkstone?
you guys are illuminating all the questions i still need to ask older devs here LOL
my favorite piece of wax is the one that the catapult statue's small bird shrine gives you!
the murals are all done by another dev!
I wanna get into the lore more. There are some in the pings that I can check out right?
Hello again lorechat
i was also more of a supporting role in prophecy, it was led by a different concept artist
is it okay if I Resh’d lore chat again
evil laughter
My take on the Flight's timelines is that the darkness invaded in the past, but the Spirits weren't able to save the paths. By helping them save the paths in the present time, we help them fulfill their last wish which allows them to be ascended.
i did test the air trial about 15 times tho before it hit beta. witness my pain
Wow
Where did the supposed elder of Eden got their name? Resh?
It's a hebrew letter
Why do I sense a flight 2.0 or smth similar
Concept name
how do melting plants and smashing rocks help clear up the wind paths if the Wasteland wind path is still open and spewing darkness?
literal pain
thank you for your sacrifice
GET RESH’D (or King)
Also, Resh is the concept name of King (we use it for fun)
Thats from concept art. As far as I know Tom himself might have named them after the hebrew alphabet.
ok, so the home/return/shared space shrines. first off, the return shrines glow with scales when you use them, (like us when we charge or meditating monastatic's rock pillar thing), but two are already glowing with crystals, sanctuary's and ark's. did someone come before us and use them or something?
Why prince is named Alef but king is named Resh while they're the same person imo
in-universe rebranding
Name change ig
oh hi Fruity
didn't know you were a lore enthusiast
“My name is too cute I want it to strike fear”
Guys I think Ash's bean-giving session is over
and the shared space one, it's face seems damaged/not there at all. is there a reason for this?
They could be the same, or they could be different, depending on the headcanon.
thank you Ash for your presence
I can’t believe I actually got a question answered
Thanks for your answer to the questions and the suffering in Prophecy!
thanks Ash!
you make amazing art
thank you ash for your presence!
Maybe because now they have got promoted into a King or something
Ash is back 👀
is PostYeti canon?
pls, this is like a very important question
Gratitude is never a bad thing uwu

I think the elder names people have gotten from concept art were a super duper early idea, but it was discarded so theyre not canon and havent been for a few years as far as i know. internally we just refer to the elders as "prairie elder" "dawn elder" etc. sorry we're boring 😄
infact i dont even know what most of those early concept names are and to which elder theyre supposed to refer to 😭
thats how old they are haha
now that your back, [cracks knuckles], i have a stupid question. is it possible to get a "skybot annoyer" role or something?
Would you like lorechat to educate you?
Another question: How close are we skykids to fulfilling our ultimate mission/purpose?
I hope this gets answered
lore people are very thirsty for lore beans that they study every single drawing in concept arts

i mean, technically they are from before christianity in the real world
do you guys have any more flight questions
no, but is PostYeti canon pls
Chance for beans? Head empty.
HAHA ive been there with other fandoms, i relate. i also love toms stuff too!! unfortunately i joined after he left tgc
i wish i couldve picked his brain!
What happened to the giant dark manta? at least I don't remember seeing it after the quest...
Pssst psst psst. I know your not allowed to say.......but......art book...someday?
um um i kinda thought there would be a krill in flight because of the trailer! and i also heard a krill's roar....
yes. how do i reactivate the night mode there? and why could i never get close to the GIANT dark plants there
? and finally, is there a reason why our birb friend that follows us is slightly darker than the other 3D birbs?
Is Tom Zhao still in TGC?
Oh wait I do have one question which is kinda Flight
When you go to the cave of prophecies, you cross a portal, but you can also make it there through the wind paths. So, is it really on isle or not? Are those portals crossing time and dimensions? (Other than giving us shortcuts?)
... Will we get more shortcuts in the future?
Is it supposed to be geographically above Hidden Forest at high altitude?
No, he left tgc a few years ago. I think at least 3+?
Hes off doing other cool things im sure!
helo lore chat
Is PostYeti canon?
I can tell you that the geography of the sky world was something we definitely thought about A Lot....However in the wind paths we do take some liberties due to game design. no one wants to be flying in a cloud tunnel for 5 minutes straight just to get to isle or something
it was the normal giant manta's 3D model i think. you can find a similar thing behind the starting building for the flying race
but they do connect geographically with each location!
I'll leave it up to you but i wont say no to your headcanon
ascends
OMG IT GOT ANSWERED WOOOHOOO
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
not sure if you saw the message since we are all bombarding u at once
lore map makers where you at
I know that place has a wind path for the sake of gameplay but... is Starlight Desert real?
YEAHHHH POSTYETI
I think the birb friend that follows you is actually.....another bug (but a really nice one!!!) or a sneaky dev who added it in, but i wouldnt think too deeply on its color tbh
(if you ask the other devs about the "6 lost souls" i wish to know about it if possible)
wait i need a cursed elder fact
They mean the giant manta! The one that breaks the rock. It's darker, even when you relive the quest. Is it intentional?
Will the wind paths get an update if there are new seasonal areas?
NO ONE BETTER REMOVE IT! I LOVE IT TO MUCH
I suppose its real in some form just because the wind paths do connect to it geographically! Now whether it actually looks like that in reality or if its an illusion created by the vault temple, thats up to you 👀
Haha vault temples real confirmed >:)
were there only five ancestors managing the wind paths during the sky kingdom's reign or were there more staffing it that just aren't present here?
i meant the actual small bird. i think you had a bug? I couldnt find that manta after the quest
I think the darker color is due to the atmospheric effects of the area when the wind paths are corrupted in darkness! the manta is a good friendly manta. maybe one you've seen before, in another time....?
Cursed elder fact, por favor
