For the angst? Or cause a purpose is mentioned? I like to think inhabiting the land after saving the stars is PART of their propose. But you gotta follow your heart voice.
And then the ancestors taught us emotions and tainted us alllllllllll
In theory, skykids exist to free spirits and help the world so once whatever their goal is has been reached, skykids do not have a purpose and therefore are no longer needed, i guess. accept not really, since it may take a while and they could be stuffed into the ecosystem by then
I like to think that after that point megabird deletes them from the world and re-assimilates them into themselves. No I'm not joking, I'm just weirdly pessimistic.
I think skykids (the real ones, those without the control of us humans) only copy the "emotions" of other spirits but doesn't actually understand them. Some may even continue without emotions as it may be unnecessary to them
Wait, so like mutiny but with... Clay children
Personal theory is that skykids got ancestorish bodies, light creatureish colors and flight. These where the ingredients chosen to make the perfect little saviors. But megabird accidently added an extra ingredient, CHEMICAL ELDER.
Speaking of skykids and their flight power; Do you think a skykid and its cape is one and the same? Or are they two separate things that one can survive with without staying together
To further elaborate; Our capes aren't sentient, but are they physically/spiritually a part of us?
Why would a cape be... alive?
I think its a cape they get from ancestors, but then they fill it with their blood light so they can move and emote with it.
Like how freshly emerged moths must pump their wings out
They are different imo. Since it is from winged light and not normal light(krills can't eat winged light, only normal light i think). but similar. but uh actually i don't know, maybe they have the cape in them but can't use it until winged light comes
Say, a skykid's cape was forcefully taken off of them without their consent. What are the possibilities of that?
Poor babies would not be able to fly.
The bloodlight would prolly slip back to them though.
Can someone do that? Maybe the cape is physically attached to them. (This is probably not true just rambling stuff out) I think i just contradicted my original message
I remember a discussion about if their base clothes are part of their physical body or not. I think a dev swooped in and said “prolly not”
That's good, idea rambles are good food for the brain
I have a similar theory of the cape being "attached" to the skykids which was why I asked. Since its technically like a vessel for all the wl we collect before we give them out to the statues, meaning we always need to be "carrying" that vessel on our backs
Do they have clothes on in eden? yes its an odd question but i think they do nevermind
i meant post death
I mean at the skykids' most "bare" form, they kinda do I think(?) Which is the same when we turn into shiny bois.
(Image borrowed from #eden-spoilers)
Maybe that could be just for the game but if accounted lore wise, that means that their clothes are made of stone(?) and that its physically attached to them. but that doesn't work since they can change their clothing. nevermind nevermind. i guess they could change physical appearance anyway
This is going back to an earlier discussion but I think skykids do have emotions since they can make friends- they could do so without emotions but it still seems off then.
They won't be sure what the emotes mean but perhaps they could sense their feelings or the spirits would tell them.
When you compare them to hiveminds like insects/robots/robotic insects, it's a bit easier to see why they still work with other people (outside of game mechanics) in order to progress and fulfill their common goals in Eden
Yeah but it still feels weird, iirc, skykids can do high fives or hug friends without anyone telling them they can. unless theres a hug spirit i forgot about.
You're right, it is pretty weird.
That is true
Perhaps that's their starting point of learning how emotions work! Tho it could also be a game mechanic to please the players
Its kind of unsettling to think about skykids being born with no clear emotions though. maybe they have emotions but don't know how to show them. i think they will be scared of krills, for one. unless they just know its not safe. i always though that how the player felt reflected how our skykid felt. the wonder in isle and prairie, the fear in eden and wasteland.
I mean, a galactic god can do pretty much anything, why can't they create a species without emotions? (also there's a theory that skykids are golems, those things aren't usually born with emotions and are the servant of their creator)
My headcanon is sorta that capes are spiritually connected to the sky kid, however the reason they can change their cape is because if they take it off and put a different one on, the new one is now the one that's connected. Same with clothes and other things
True, it would be beneficial so skykids wouldn't stop doing their job and rebel. But still unsettling.
Hahahaha, want an entire theory about pretty much everything you just said?
Personally I think its because only a logical-operated-only creatures will be able to finish the jobs quickly and not getting distracted with forming relationships. But since we, humans who naturally have emotions, are the ones who play them, there's a reason we also get distracted with friends
im scared now but ok
When Sky's lore starting to become darker than you thought XD
Eitherway, the game was made to relax on and make friends, however we don't fully know if it's the same way if we only focus on its lore aspects
Also random but why does Megabird sound like a Pokemon
This makes sense. However I just had a thought, lets say that the king is a skykid. Did he have emotions? Or did the megabird change how they were wired after the big problems?
I don't know pal... I really need to go to bed
Alright, good night and sneep snorp! 🛏️
Just adding a few cents of thought I think it's more of the former; The King having emotions which could be a factor of what led the Kingdom into doom and such. However that brings the question of why didn't Megabird just create a singular emotionless skykid to rule after the fall of the Kingdom? Why send an entire new race of skykids?
Nvm I forgot the horde of skykids were sent to clean stuff up
Im too tired to answer anymore questions here after like an hour of lore-ing
Lol
Okay, so, I feel like I should probably share my insights into Skylore here. Constellations were created by the king - when the ancestors died, the king made a way for their spirits to exist in the sky, as stars. They can ascend and descend back to their gravestones. If the gravestone is broken, there maybe isn't a way for the spirit to ascend. King put elders in charge of spirits ascension. Now, the king: I have wondered if he burst into pieces and was spread across the realm (as children of light), OR if we, the skykids, are his "offspring". I have been studying this stuff a while. I have seen concept art though that shows after we die, the king is the golden child we hug, and both he and the skykid ascend
I also don't believe the king is truly bad. I think it's possible he was sickened by how the elders and ancestors used the powers he gave them, which could have made him angry, hence the storm
One thing I haven't figured out is the children of light/winged light. The ones in eden are clearly exhausted. Idk what the heck they are, drives me crazy
There's definitely some connection between children of light, skykids, and the king
My headcanon is that winged lights are sky kids that failed to fully ascend somehow, however that is just a headcanon
I think we ARE the same species. But there's clearly a separation between us and the winged lights. (Also just found out the winged lights actually SPEAK at the beginning of the game, so that's useful. They didn't talk when I started
(Found out a few days ago I mean, they say a lot of important things at the beginning)
Are you talking about the 'narrator'at the start of the game? Such as the text telling you to "bring the spirits back up" or something along those lines?
There's two "voices" at the beginning. One is the spirits, the other is the winged light. The spirits thing says the stuff about "with the stars united, our light was infinite". But then there is more text that I saw on my newish moth account. Here's the text (sorry if it's hard to read)
"Draw near, so we may start you on the journey" is what got me
I’m scared on how organized it is
My brother asked if I'm a serial killer when he saw my papers. Also there have been many more drawings. Idk how many times I have drawn the murals...
me wondering what titan is typing OvO
Yeah, I think over 5 minutes. This is gonna be DEEP
ohh interesting, i didn’t know there was a prince
part 1
this would make a good story ngl, you should write it
oh no, they’re still typing
I might tbh, part 3 coming soon 🙃
you should tbh, and what part 3
I have tried drawing a few comics, but never finished because I found problems 😕 I think the ideas there are something though. One king had a mask like the one we see everywhere, one had one shaped like a sparkle
Or...what if two people kinda formed ONE king. If the diamond turned sideways and combined with a sparkle. Idk if I'm making sense
Oh. Also Idk if this character still has relevance to lore, but I desperately want it to
Mmm, fusion
I'm currently writing a story about my interpretation of everything that happened before the fall of the kingdom
I could share my comics here if you want. I don't remember now what my problems were. I'll go dig for them XD
Maybe I'll wait until Titan is done
I'm going to wait till Titan is done then share my interpretations
Yayyyy lorrrreeee
That was long
Ikr, my hand are dead rn 😪
Well that's my thought on what happend for the stars to fall , anyone else
HEY MARIE YOUR TURN
RIP Titan_'s hands
Ik
We should make a doc about our headcanons on the fall lmao
Since this 1 min cooldown and the word limit in discord ykniw
Alot of hand are dying today ig
My hands are actually dying less than usual. I often draw all day. Instead I'm using my phone more than my pencil
I ma good storyteller I think, but I'm so bad at drawring it's not even funny.
I’m the opposite, bad at storytelling but decent at drawing lmao
So I think that there were three children directly created from the megabird known as it's children, (also using FANON names so do mind that-) Firstborn Alef, the Divine light, Secondborn Resh, the Sacred Dark, and the thirdborn (who is not named) who brought balance between them all. They were the first to fall from the heavens. Alef and Resh created the land and the thirdborn brought the creatures to it, mantas, birds, all creatures big and small were created. Then the megabird brought the spirits. Alef and Resh guided them with the help of the thirdborn. But soon all three children disappeared. The Prophets taught their students in the ways of these prophecys that they created and were left. Soon all of their students were dead, none passed the trials. So each prophet offered the Prophet of Balance (the guide for the season of prophecy) and they summoned Alef once more, he was the only child to return as Resh awaited his return in the shadows and the thirdborn having returned to the megabird.
Alef had continued to lead the prophets and lead the spirits, slowly the other two children returned and helped with that. Alef and Resh ventured out into the land and stumbled across the hidden forest that had not yet been discovered. Alef had accidentally killed Resh while they were playing in the woods and then formed the dark stones. Of which Alef brought back to the prophets and they refined them. Allowing for a new age of innovation and the spirits beginning to settle they needed leaders, so Alef chose three elders, a Ferryman, a Craftsman and a Judge. Soon Alef was crowned King. and so he lead them like one. Yet darkness spread across the land so the elders had a ship built so they coould flee, yet it crashed and only the Isle Elder survived. Soon then we had the elders we now. The elders had tried to stop the spread of the darkness yet failed when the king became curropt. Having taken a blessing from the megabird, his mother, he sought to bring back his fallen brother. And they became one, Corrupt King.
The spirits turned to nothing but dust, few spirits who's light was strong turned to stone. And then came the sky children, fallen stars who were given a second chance by the megabird. They were meant to bring peace, bring back balance that the thirdborn had failed to keep.
and I'm done
First comic I made (part one. Discord can't handle all at once)
I love the art :>
What sthe megabird??????
In concept arts, the deity of Sky
Big bird
I also call it the Fire, not like fire like the flame but as a title
Ohh ok
I consider the megabird to actually be more of a process than a deity! But the megabird is the process by which we are reborn basically. She carries us when we die
hehe, mega(n)birb fried chicken
tbh, I see megabirb as a galaxy (but yknow how ancient civilization worship the stars? Ye, so they got the idea of megabirb being a god yatta yat. But I also like the megabirb is a deity)
This is like a storyboard
This could be a good first episode if you animate it
Maybe ethe megabird, in the case of my story, are the stars fulfilling the prince's dying prayers.
I think I found something wrong after this part, I can't find a continuation image. So ONTO NEXT COMIC THAT I DIDN'T FINISH. (First, notes: I thought maybe the elders used to be creatures in the actual story, at the time I made this, because of concept art)
Oooooo nice
Well I'm gonna go write some stories about a superhero universe I made so goodbye for like 10 mins, until I get bored
Mk, cya later
I might share the full detailed version of this when its done
because I'm actually writing this into a book
Oh dear some papers are sideways in the pictures I took. Also, I have bad handwriting at 21 years old, very sorry XD
I cant even read my own handwriting
I thankfully can read mine, but I always forget other people may be unable to 😔
same, because they’re all curves
Ok I got bored
Wb
I kinda fell in love with my prince character. He's just too adorable
Every Prince is adorable
Le petit prince tho 💞
Alef is superior
He is and will always be superior
facts
and if you disagree, you don’t exist anymore (/hj)
King deserves more respect 😤
true but alef is still superior
All princes are equal
Oh wait I thought they were actually the same person. I thought we were comparing him to the other elders (though prairie elder is also the best tbh. He loves his pots)
Lmao
(I think Resh and Alef are the same person but Alef is before he got ‘reborn’ as King)
Oh I forgot about who exactly Resh was. It's so hard to keep track of everything
It’s okay
How do I have 2k screenshot xD
I'm mostly avoiding the elder names because I think I read something about not using them here?
For awhile the bot would respond every single time they where said “to avoid confusion” and boy howdy did not using them cause a lot of confusion.
Ohhh. So now we can use them?
To avoid confusion
And then the revolution 2.0 happened and ye, no more banning of concept elder names
Precious old grandpa Daleth, granny Lamed, Workaholic Teth, big strong Tsadi, teddybear giant Ayin, aerodynamic bickerers Samekh, and secret hidden, ever important Alef/Resh
Megan at the background
(Not concept name but fanon nickname for Megabirb)
Prairie elder is superior to every other elder and nobody can change my mind
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT
He make butterfly with magic of squish
Factual
Very proud of the ceramics he made for butterflies
Politely ask butterfly to go into pot
And his candle offering thing is on top of a gigantic pot, by the way. I didn't notice for a while, but WOW GOOD JOB AYIN
Ayo, no posting fanart wih or without credit
Idk whose it is tho
Anyways
Whats the most lore dense realm?
Balley, GW and Edne
Yep, Isle
Isle if we cheat and include prophecy
Gw and forest imho
There's a lot of options. I think we can rule out prairie and valley though
Is it just me or does the Vault Elder remind me of a sweet old grandmother (I know none of the elders have genders but still-)
I have a sort of short fanfic I'm working on doe where the prairie elder is the protector of sky creatures which the elder of fores captures to create power diamonds (because according to them the pieces of Eden diamond that the king gave the elders wouldn't be enough to keep the Kingdom prosperous so they decided to start making more, against the others' wishes)
It probably isn't fair to compare how much lore is in each realm, seeing as all of them build off of each other to build a story
Tru
So the elders at the ending of every realm are actually ghosts?
Oh, I missed the part about elders being dead in that theory. In some concept art, the elders ARE shown as being spirits
Oh ok, neat
Nope, they’re in limbo (between life and death)
How can you tell?
Spirits were once shown as more ghost like, I can find a picture of it. Used to have no legs
Ooh no legs spirits actually look quite cool, I wonder how they would look like in-game 🤔
It looks kinda like they are dripping, like an inkcap mushroom! I want THOSE spirits!
Tom Zhao is my hero by the way. He worked for TGC, made lots of BRILLIANT concept art for the game *he didn't make all the concept art here, just wanted to mention him
The concept art for the elders is very interesting, on the second last image I was always confused by the spirits besides them, but reading the concept art map of valley in one of the acts it says that before the valley race the headstones you see in the walls are there to represent chosen ancestors (since there are more then 6 in total) so, the spirits on the left side of the concept art and in game wear masks that come from elders, perhaps they were messengers from the elders to the common people.
Could make sense?
ALSO concept art refers to megabird as a bird of light, Haah I find it funny how we just say megabird though, true Megan is sure a megabird
The second to last, it appears as if the Corrupt King is a castle. Maybe he infact is the castle we pass in the rebirth process, just a broken shell at that point
maybe he is the mountain of the Eye of Eden, and that giant red crystal is his core, his heart
Maybe that's why we see the King everywhere, he is the Holy Land where we go to ascend
Heres eden castle unbroken from LA
a prediction on what eden would've looked like just before darkness took over
woah, so the king got his castle remodeled, cool.
Wait, so the castle is no longer a floating island?
Maybe it broke off the actual castle and became an island idk
This is from light awaits so his castle was a rockin complete castle THEN got blasted into the sky in current.
So that is a the old castle.

more so, the bot itself caused MORE confusion by reacting
wait really?
10 pm theories with no evidence and are highly unlikely that I just think are cool:
Valley twins were originally one person but a krill hit them when they were in wasteland,,,, and they spilt
Samekh:”Darkdragons? Ppft I bet I can take one on!”
Like 20 minuites later
:”k that was a mistake.”
:”😐”
HAHAHAHA
Like I think it be so in character aswell cuz Tsadi probably said they’re dangerous and Samekh took it as a challange💀
HAHehhhahhdhfsd
Valley would have had a priesstess before the twins.
Also, vault used to have a royal design (crown and dress). But there was alos once a concept for a shaman, or an oracle.
Ooo that’s cool! it kinda makes me wonder now if the statues in eden are supposed to represent the vault elder, similar design and all and vault being before eden
Yeah, those things... but there is a question.
why do you need so many vault elder statues?
TLDR: Eden was Vault elders domain before alef came along, and vault elder was in charge of watching over and marking sure light creatures finished they’re cycle
More explained:In my theory for the sky timeline I believe alef/resh are the youngest elder, thus when they landed in the sky world there probably wasn’t any other realms to give to them, well except eden. Who I theorize might have been vaults domain before alef landed
Being where the cycle happens and all that I guess before alef came along, Vault was in charge of of it, thus the statues being used as guides in a way imo
Huh, I guess that explains why Vault would have manta DNA code (I read this attempt to decode the Vault text and DNA is one of the theories related to it)
Oo that could explain a lot tbh
And eden was originally blue in the beta version so I think it would tie into more with vaults aesthetic. Maybe eden was Alefs gift of when they were crowned king (since I think alef/resh are the same person)
That does make sense
(man I wonder what it's like to extract DNA) Open up, lil' manta! Open uuuup! *swabs the inside of their mouth
What if the Eden elder is arrogant because Eden seem to have the best technology and that's why the other elders don't get along with them. And one day there's a conflict and that leads to war.
Eden takes over the war with their technology. Other elders can't bare loosing more people, and they're planning something.
The Forest elder made this mutant called krill by ||killing|| a giant manta and turning it into a living weapon. They sent some to Eden and krills destroy it. They sent the rest to golden wasteland to end the war. At first it worked just fine but then the krill started to get out of their control.
Ooo I like this theory, the forest elder doing more harm than good because they want to war to just end is kinda sad too
Yeah, but that explain the bones in boneyard and vault's fifth floor.
Ah that’s true
Krills are corrupted light creatures and it's not a machine nor a weapon
Oof I forgot that was the case
But if sky was set in a alternative universe it would be a cool storyline
Most of my headcanons are better suited for alternative universes, don't worry, it can happen to any of us
Yeah your right, I literally made an entire fannon storyline for Alef/Resh from the moment they landed in sky word to being trapped in eden
I actually wonder how "golden" Golden Wasteland truly was before corruption, assuning it truly held onto its label
A head-cannon that plays into this cuz this will make no sense without knowing this: when a star falls, they are given a “phrase”, Elders and skykid have this to give them a purpose in their existence, its vague enough to not limit them and lets them explore it; Alef’s phrase is:”Learn”
Note: I see Resh as a shell, representing Alef’s throne and crown for becoming king. A dark stone robot powered by Alef to say the least. And I put a bit of beta lore into this convo
ANYWAYS: Teth is the overseer of building Resh. Resh marks not only the beginning of a new era, but when Alef steps up to be crowned king. They will swear absolute loyalty to the kingdom, Alef can't leave Resh even if they wanted to. When the concept was explained to Lamed, only one thought manifested into to bitter words.
"You're creating a prision for Alef."
"Creating a prison?" Teth echoed Lamed's statement.
"Yes, I am. And If Alef want's to truly learn what it means to become a king, they must know they can not falter when the choice is made. Going off topic, but do you know something that surprises me, Lamed?
That out of all the elders: you are the opposed to Alef’s crowning, is it because your afraid of giving eden to them since you would have lost your the meaning of your phrase?
“…Excuse me?”
“If we are taking your phrase: “goad” as literal; you guide the light, much as Daleth, you are a shepherd in the cycle, but instead of the beginning you lead the end. And when Alef is crowned; you will lose that role, lose sight of your phrase… Now isn’t that horrifying, Lamed?”
“If you think I am so insecure of letting a child rule a sacred land that wasn’t even mine to begin with, then do you take me for a fool?! Even so, I am a oracle of mega birds word—“
“A oracle who hasn’t received word from megabird! I came here to show my progress on Resh and get helpful feedback in return, not blatant insults to my work!”
“…Then I suggest consulting the other elder’s Teth, leave.”
MMM GUESS WHO WAS WRITING ALEF LORE AND GOT CARRIED AWAY AND WROTE THIS?MEE
, also I wrote this on mobile so I’m srry if formatting is wonky
Don't remember who posted it but they were able to find side by side comparison to buildings found in GW to other buildings in different realms
Seeing as there's SO much, PLUS the fact some of the structures are spread so far on either side of each area of the GW I can only imagine how BIG these buildings were
So this was in ascent. Make of it what you will, but isn't this the throne thingie from the Vault? Or do you guys think that there's an entire throne thing in Eden which is separate to the throne room thing in the Vault
Also don't know about yall but I think it's interesting that the imagery of this is different- usually the Elders are depicted? But in this image it's just the king. Surrounded by what looks like Home
Also i truly believe that the King's symbol/emblem is a diamond
It's not entirely clear here…
Is this the door to the second part of Eden? Because that gate looks like the Isle of Dawn temple gate
Yeah unfortunately the quality went down when I tried cropping it. Yes it is the second part of Eden
Aaa I have a collection of pics from Eden but I'd have to dig them out
But yeah, there are lots of parallels between the realms and Eden itself
Also! I find it super interesting that since the king seems to be using diamonds as their symbol. Why is there a sun symbol? The last time this shield was around was in the Battlefield at the GW.
Also noting the massive swords in the wall...
Maybe there was a war going on, sun vs the other symbol that I can’t remember
, maybe the sun army managed to push towards eden and set up camp before whatever changed eden got to them
What's a sun army?
Omg true! Yes, I think King= Diamond, resistance/megabird(?)= Sun
@compact shale if you look at the GW Battlefield there's two distinct shields, one with Sun and another with Diamond, I personally theorise that perhaps the Sun people were against the king and were revolting against him?
Ahh that explains it! I knew there were sun shield’s but couldn’t remember the other one, the other shield being diamond explains ALOT
hmm, rebellion against the king... I'd like to know more about it!
The images above are also similar to the depictions on the door that you open in isle temple!
also interesting note, isle elder isn’t present on the eden door at home, there are only 5 elder masks on the door, none include isle.
poor him, must’ve not gotten invited to the party? jk but in all seriousness I think he isn’t there to help further represent the rebirth cycle, would be strange if life and death were both together huh?
Also, in sky maps, isle is seperate from the others, pushed far away and back from everything, not even connected, so in a way, makes sense isle doesn’t make his lovely appearance on the eden gate
Also, off topic, anybody happen to know any sources to find the elder prarie and valley pin quotes?
Okay I've read again on Tumblr that people Theorise that there was a falling out with the Isle elder and the other elders, e.g. Isle Elder was the first to be suspicious about The King's motifs and the first to notice the King's greed. Maybe that's why?
There's a theory about Isle being the sin of envy. could it be that he's envious of the other elders because he doesn't get to be there with them? They're separate?
that’s interesting! lmao time to screenshot to add to the googledoc
Maybe bc they think that he's too old to be elder and lead, and they're tryna slowly demote him?
Omg no not them ganging up on my pal isle, he’s my favourite
People say its either Isle Elder or Lamed who are the first to be suspicious with the King's motifs and greed
I mean tbh that's the whole point of being an elder
An ELDER
Someone who has seen everything and is not young anymore
Hi
I mean, Lamed smort
Big brain ahaha
Wait what if they eventually started getting more and more tense, and went to war with each other between the realms. The light creatures felt it and their joy and happiness was gone, making them into dark dragons and krebs.
Also there was a shortage of water and spirits started taking water from the krebs, which is why they're always found near water to protecc it from the spirits
For a while I thought they were extracting water from the crabs
like that was what i read from ur message lol
I think defs had something to do with that maybe.
My HC is that
the explosion or the catalytic event that happened in Eden which turned those creatures into dark creatures. I think it was @tidal valve who pointed out that light creatures that die unnatural deaths leave behind skeletons? We only see said skeletons in the forest (hunting animals to extinction), GW and Vault.
I Theorise GW has those bones due to dealing the brunt of the damage caused by Eden OR the war waged against the two sides.
The Vault skeletons are a bit more complex- they appear to be left there on purpose/like a shrine? Perhaps it was a beloved animal that meant a lot to someone?
Or maybe part of an experiment?
That is also plausible, again with the Battlefield weapons used there seemed to point to flying enemies/ this may be the fact both sides of the war had those big boy whales (the light version of krill).
Or maybe the King unleashed the Krill experiments on the opposing army? Who knows
If it was a beloved animal then who did it belong to? The vault elder?
Maybe krill-related experiments, but not experiments on CREATING krill (they are confirmed to be corrupted light creatures, they aren't artificial machines like the Journey Guardians)
Maybe they were trying to figure out what the krill were and how to disable/purify them
I was going to make a krill joke, but it wasn’t funny lol
maybe! I feel like the bones there r just for the dreamlike reality, also I think each area reflects a realm/ story of sky, the bones could be a way of expressing that I mean, it is vault of knowledge
My theory instead is that during the cataclysm the elders created a containment field around Eden to avoid thedestruction to spread into other realms, but in order to complete that barrier the Eden Door should have been sealed from the outside and since he was the oldest and wisest he decided to shield the little exit with his powers while the others had to seal the door to avoid the corruction spreading (sort of like Gandalf "you shall not pass)
This is why he arrive in his temple cutscene from broken AND also broken
@severe gazelle @compact shale
Interesting
each floor definitely seems to reflect a bit the 7 realms
Floor 1 has sands like in Isle
Floor 2 idk 😅
Floor 3 has trees and rock gazebo like in Forest
Floor 4 has floating buildings reminding Valley
Floor 5 has just giant bones, reminding of Wasteland
Floor 6 (before elevator stops) has the full knowledge of the 6 realms constellation
Floor 7-ish (stopped elevator) floating diamond reach the altars of the 6 Elders which is the same as the (maybe) real one in Eden Castle
(Note: real one because if you happend to OOB there the sizes of those Elders tombs are way bigger than those in the dreamlike floor 6-7)
Maybe the whole concept of using the elevator bringing that diamond crystal and lighting it could have a parallel with what Elders and King/Prince/Chosen One did during the creation of the Giant Red Power Diamon in Eden
Do you think maybe they chose the isle elder because he’s the one that basically caused the whole destruction by “raising” the Chosen One
Idk why Discord copied my previous comment
I don't think so, I'd like to think it was selfless act
Btw we have not really a proof that the chosen one was raised in Isle, if you ask me, I think he could have been raised in any realm
Perhaps. I mean he WAS found in the Isle by the ponytail spirit xd
are you saying a dragon needs these "dragon like features" you assume a dragon needs?
not all dragons need wings, breathe fire or what do you think.
krills are alike dragons. they fly, they are powerful and they are the "dragons" of sky. that's my opinion
Krills dont fly, and fire doesnt last underwater. So idk what youre getting to
Oh wait that does sound cool
A water snake— no, wait.. an AIR snake
Chinese dragons don’t have wings just like the krills
Say the prince was a skykid
were there other skykids at that time?
I reckon the prince was the first and last?
My HC is that our sky Kids are actually broken up fragments of the original Prince- because he was super powerful AND really big as the King.
And as the Devs have mentioned the King isn't around anymore
I would say no, I mean I like the idea of skids appearing before the fall but I prefer the ‘skids appear after the fall’
in wasteland, there is a battlefield in front of the temple.
There you can see the round shields with the light symbol on it (what Tac called, the Sun army) along with spears.
The other side was a diamond shield with blades.
That is it, thanks. 👍
Any sign from next ts?
Sooo, uh... it just clicked that there are two red lights from enchantment. Both seem to work for the daily quest and probably for the one from the questgiver
i wonder, are there other enchantment lights with duplicates?
I checked some guides and it's only the red light that has two locations!
No hints yet. Watch out for any announcement in #news or some hints at #general-sky-discussion
fascinating
Additional details from the wiki (https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Season_of_Enchantment#Red_Light_.28Week_1.29)
Players are told that the Spirits long for Red Light, and that it is found ‘where darkness prevails’. Upon returning the Light, the Nodding Muralist uses it to illuminate the murals they painted on the ark.
I wonder why red light is special
also the orange/yellow light is orange in game, yellow on the artwork, and the item we can get from the spirit is yellow. This is probably just something overlooked but its odd. The item looks more like a lightseekers light rather than the orange one in game
Yes! Like the ones in the cave at Isle!! Haha. Although it also looks like the colored orbs in spell shop
So yeah, probably overlooked...
Someone posted here before about what they thought the differences was with all the Light in the game (lightseekers, enchantment, prophecy etc) not sure how to find it though // if it's relevant.
Interesting how red lights are found in locations where both have large shipwrecks and with a lone krill in the area.
Idk if I have the energy to read all of the comments since I was last here, BUT I forgot an important thing I had in mind. What if eden is actually a memory that we just replay over and over? ALSO. When you start the game, home is stormy, so I want to know if there's a past, present, and future to the game, and we just shift from one to another
There's definitely some stuff about the past, seeing as the game is based around memories, but the puzzle is figuring out which is which
I'd like to see that light chart too... or whatever it was
Why do krills like tearing down ships? Do they work for the king so that no one can come in or out of the planet?
@coarse dragon
They are after the light.
They could have sensed the light energy onboard.
That is one theory. Another theory is the storm was so rough, the flying ships were struck down, or lost power while mid air.
Guys, I have a theory and hear me out here...
Sky kids are blind.
There are so many evidence bits.
Like the fact that their eyes are closed under the mask. (ik that doesn't necessarily mean that they are blind)
And that if you go close to an object, your character will touch it automatically.
And that our honk could maybe be echolocation to find spirits and other beings??
I have that theory too! Well, a version of that.
Ooh what's your version?
They are blind without the masks and can only sense the amount of Light or corruption around them (like when you close your eyes and turn towards a lamp or something), the masks give them better sight by using Light.
Edit: I explain maskless as an invisible mask.
yep that works haha
I don't think that they can see, but they could be able to sense light around them
ok I was thinking, if the little prince area was cannon (which i don’t think it’s cannon because it’s a collaboration event) then the story would’ve had to take place before darkness fell because it’s the only area in sky (except orbit) where there are stars in the sky
Leaking darkness??? What does this suggest about the Ark
That its part of wasteland where they dump their dark. Guess even the prettiest of wasteland is still a wasteland
Mhm, maybe before hidden forest?
Actually, I was thinking of something else. Vault is below Eden, while wasteland is beside it. Maybe the darkness from Eden swept downhill to Wasteland, while Vault was untouched? I have a drawing I made at school, if this helps.
Also, here's my theory on the shipwreck: A cargo ship was wrecked by a beach, spilling oil into the water. A whale in the polluted water was corrupted into a krill, and the Saluting Captain was trying to help everyone else. I know that the krill existed when the Saluting Captain was helping others, because the last memory sequence shows him looking precisely at a section of the bow of the ship, where the krill's path runs through.
wasteland is the worst affected realm in sky, right after Eden. Although eden has no dark plants, candles or spirits.
The dark wind blowing in from forgotten ark, might be a warning of something bad coming later in the season.
Do you guys think that the Season of Enchanment happened AFTER the fall? Seeing as krill already existed AND this is assuming there was probably darkness leaking from that area?
Also do you think the other shipwreck was a ship which accompanied the one at the forgotten ark?- coz im pretty sure the mural had a second boat.
There is a huge storm going into Wasteland, so yes, it probably happened after. Plus, why would the indifferent alchemist need to purify water if at the time it was already purified?
thanks, and, i agree with that, of course for me with the exception of the prince. besides it does make more sense, skykids have a bigger purpose now.
Exactly- I wonder if we will get to see other seasons that shows us how people tried to survive after the fall. Coz there's no way the seasons would be in chronolgical order LOL
Yes and no. I believe the world started corrupting before the big storm so it could have happened before. But it could have happened post-storm.
I think the Little Prince's story must be some sort of parallel to Sky's story/the Prince's (later King's) story.
Like I could see some similarities in the adults that form the part of the story

I think geologically speaking it would seen to make sense it happened that way
it was flourishing land
Wasteland was some military base, ||Eden|| was the capitol.
what’s the topic?
Definitely not. Going with what these guys said- and I think it was on its way to ruin maybe but even then both were flourishing Realms. Plus their names suggest some sort of wealth e.g. golden? Maybe it was called the golden city? And Eden, is supposed to be some sort of paradise
But in present times both don't appear that way...
wasteland? I don't know. but definitely had factories. and bases. eden? kinda the main place to stay in so like, great halls and fancy and buildings
Idk who said that krill don't attack spirit memories, it was a while ago, but take this:
Damn, u didn’t loose any WLs
Wasteland has architectural similarities to Valley, and valley was veryy decorated with gold
YES! THIS! plus that one krill area, clearly has similarities to a temple. There's a lot of golden motifs around. I shone my little light to see the structures better, as far as I could tell there were blueish motifs. But the main structures are black. Perhaps the paint rubbed off over time or the darkness took over
Also @rigid mural slayyyy xd
I mean, they used to be one (Golden Valley) so there’s that
The first krill area looks like a clone of the Forest temple...
crabs can also do that, it was an issue when reliving pleaful parent, crabs kept knocking the spirit out while i was carrying the light to it
i wish there were spirits in eden except for our dead acquaintances souls and statutes
On the same note, it's kinda suggested these structures at the valley were MASSIVE.
I think someone did say that the gw must have been part of the Valley
Since the social area's left over structure kinda resembles motifs found there
If they put spirits in Eden, it would distract players from the objective. It's also the reason why there are no side areas in Eden.
I would love a season in Eden too much
True, but at least a spirit statue or something would be great.
Valley but ground
For some reason I look at Graveyard and it screams "Pier" at me. Fyi, krills are corrupted whales.
I have already seen drawings of this style, rarely passing in the artists' room
Valley but less fun
Lmaoooo
What if it was a beach valley or something seeing as there's lots of water
nothing is official, the krills may have been a creature of light that we have never seen so far
If there was a season in eden it would deprive from the OG purpose.... but unless theres a small cave on the side for the season.. TLP's final quest already made us go to eden so
concept art is better in general (but our phone couldn’t hand it so :( )
jenova chen once said that we will have to wait in time for the truth about krills, their origin, and what they looked like before to arrive.
That was me, it is not easy to set it up, but it is possible.
warzone military base beach valley
Personally, the Bintendo switch creature
Defs Nintendo switch creature
Its an adult version of that at least
ah yes bintendo but agreed. or manta or something haha
maybe, yes or no, we will have the truth one day or another on this^^
Plus in the Vault when you go to the wasteland level there's a massive comic/adult version of the little one from the switch version. I don't think they put it there as a coincidence
🇧intendo
in the Nintendo switch sky trailer there was a creature at the beginning. chesca posted it above
Ooooo
imagine that many species of creature of light have disappeared
them for example too

well. ancestors aren't made of light but at least ancestors did. and probably that manta shrimp
ye, which sucks because damn it would be interesting
don't worry over time we will be more ^^
now, a question which I dont think really has an answer to, but, are there any other realms in sky? seems like a small world. yeah theres probably other underwater places but.. would there be other creatures there? like how spirits have animal masks despite them not being in game? could be not made of light or darkness?
Underwater
for me at the very beginning, the world was a continent, the celestial world did not exist before the arrival of the ancients. the continent was submerged with time, that is why the celestial world was created
this is what I understand when I watch the teaser switch, the ancestors all go to the celestial world because the continent is doomed to disappear
it wasn't a festival, they were getting ready to join their new kingdom
I thought it was a marketplace haha
true but actually, nevermind, it doesn't really look like a market but i could be wrong
actually idk at this point
Prince
prince
I believe so, probably whatever the valley elders were doing with their sticks
It dosent look like a mantis shrimp though.
Perhaps I can imagine all the unused concept areas are places that got wrecked at some point guess that does not work for the ones involving cities, but im gonna say it does anywho
I have heard krale and now mantis shrimp, light krill, ect I have been calling it mantatee. Watch as it gets a real name soonish.
what the
See? One eye compaired to two bibbily bobbily eyes
Wait are yall just now learning of mantis shrimp and their trippy look?
They can punch the arm off a crab.
I had never even heard of a mantis shrimp before.
They have....fins?
Then again I been looking at exclusively the concept art version because I like its horns better.
Fins aint legs less’n you a mudskipper
im sorry but that creature looks like a weird mix of random creatures
Oh back fin. Thats like the most common shape for sky creatures back fin though.
It actually has layered neck plates like a krill does too. Prolly to further connect them except they messed up and I wish they added the horns
Its mean! Its cruel! I can be dramatic as I long that light creatures deserve cool ram horns also!
horns on jellyfish?
I don't even know which way is it's head
next season mission: restore isle of dawn to it's former glory
Jellys would get little antenna instead
what a huge mission. we'd need all of the skykids helping

i mean, i guess
the king/prince = trial champion dude, conqueror of elements
and some other stuff
Yall inspired. I drew one up real quick
I think that this creature, the plates that it is wearing are armour, you if look closely you can see interlacing sections and buckles
I feel like there are other realms in sky, season of flight has shown that wind paths are made by migratory light creatures, and since the storm it can be assumed that many light creatures died, therefore frequently used wind paths where then no longer in use restricting areas and realms once more.
in contrast though, some places where revealed though after decades of decay from lack of maintence like the vault archives
The head is dark like a sanctuary whale, And it has yellow trim. I think that part is organic. Either a hole is drilled in the “tusk” or the buckle is attached to nothing
I think somebody here posted a theory that manta/ light creatures became corrupted by wearing power diamond armour
I like the horns
SAME. I think they are ✨elegant✨
Y e s
Are krills corrupted mantas?
Yeah
Oooh that makes sense
I suppose. People were thinking it was the Nintendo switch trailer creature as shown above.
which is probably a manta or subspecies of a manta. (plus the whole light evolution concept thingy)
That means I might be in trouble 0-0
You know, it's now weird(er) to think about that krill eating the manta...
A corrupted manta, eating a manta 🤭
._.
Wait, if that is a subspecies of manta, does that mean that there are different species of light creatures 0-0 that’s awesome!
okay. anyways. i mean, yes? and no. i don't know, really. there is the whole light evolution theory/concept where butterflies becomes birds, then mantas, or something like that. eventually into whales. but at the same time, fish could also evolve into whales.. maybe? so yeah probably.
Sorta like
Ones the whale of sanctuary, whom some call “elder light creature” or “elder manta” and one is the coelacanth whom is sometimes called “whale”.
Sanctuary whale is only in sanctuary, canth is seen in forest cavern, wasteland flying entrance cloud sea, eden ect.
Ooh, lol I was just about to ask where to find them
And to find the sanctuary whale you have to complet- actually from your pfp it looks like you sorta already know.
Yeah lol
oh yeah thats really cool. the evolution is cool, but confusing as well
Opinions: which whale is better
If the canth actually had patterns, I would like it better. But the ones in game are just pure white aside from their sculls, they look like they lack something. I like swimming out to the sanctuary whale and have it dive at you. Its fun to see it up close.
I think the elder manta is better because it can probably fly just like it’s previous forms plus it can swim, give light and over all is probably really strong judging from its size
canth have tiny feathers uwu and apprently when they are energised they shimmer (they also eat flames)
The whale canth is believed to be a neutral creature right? And I like how they attack buildings to save the few light left in their world.
Isn’t that like eating yourself?
Yeah....but I think all that was just concept art. They look so cool in concept. Like bioluminescent deep sea creatures.
well they are light creatures, and we also are a hybrid of light, we both use flame our own healing/ flying purposes
That’s true
Canth is a light creature. Prolly helped fight against darkness in wasteland during the war considering Tsadi’s mask is based off them.
We’re do Sky kids fit on this evolution web?
A hybrid of ancestor and light creature. Maybe a hint of elder too.
Canth?
sky children came after the stars fell, we are made as a hybrid of light/ ancestors, I’d say our evolution doesn’t change much, just extra wedges on our capes
(I like to think a part of our souls after we ascend become winged light, since it was said somewhere that they are imprints of sky children)
Oooo I like the sound of that 🤩
Short for coelacanth
Oh
Wait does that mean that Sky kids are related to ancestors, elders AND light creatures?
Well by hybrid its like....a creational hybrid. Mega prolly took the concept for ancestors and light creatures for skykids. Not like.....ancestors and creatures actually like......um....getting together..
In irl a coelacanth is a jawed fish which was found in Africa, I forgot why it was important but I know it was related to human evolution
I don’t think we are related, since elders and skykids are different, I just like to think in a way we are all connected through the megabird rebirth cycle and through our light
They where thought to be extinct for a long time, they are ancient fishes. So rediscovering them was a big deal.
Or maybe you just play animal crossing
I wouldn’t be surprised if the flowers were created by the megabird, seems like it makes everything on the sky planet
when you walk through flowers in sky, they glow a brighter colour when you pass by them
perhaps they are just hollow and our light just emits of from them
or, maybe they are filled by some sort of passive light that needs a source in order to charge?
I’m thinking to much into this... they are just.... flowers...
Sky lore is so deep that we’re talking about the flowers now
I wish there was more concept art maps posted for isle, like man, I want to see all the concept art LIKE give me the concept art to even like, the grass or whatever I want ANSWERS
I wanna know if the ancestors in different realms answer to the elders or if they just do anything, IS IT A MONARCHY OR WHAT???!
Its a Kingdom for a reason.
I think it was probably a monarchy because y’know, the King
Yeah but isn’t the king gone?
So is everyone else
That’s sad
Its totally ok because now all the dead people get to babysit 10,000,000 new star babies
Especially the moths who just flail around and honk at people 🤣, imagine waking up from death and seeing a kid honk at you
random but
after going to gen-chat and sharing a bit of lore, i've somewhat forgotten that not everyone will be interested or know much about the lore(not a bad thing just not used to it).
Sometimes I talk about it to in game friends. Baha.
But like a cliffnotes version
they probably do follow their elders, but they mainly listen to the king i would say
Ungrateful peeps in gen chat 👀, we are sharing our knowledge with them
I don't really have any friends that are interested in the lore. If I do, i don't talk with them or they have stopped playing.
I have 1 friend in Sky who likes lore 😔
I like how you reacted to your own message haha
I needed that hug 😅
talking about Sky lore will make me happy even if it frustrates me or almost blows up my brain sometimes 😄
That’s so true, no matter how complicated or complex it becomes I always try to simplify it to wrap my brain around it lol
OH SHOOT
I JUST REALIZED
THE PRINCE'S HEAD IS THE LOADSTONE (or whatever its actual name is, one sec lemme look it up)
OK ITS CALLED A KEYSTONE
https://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_stone_at_the_top_of_an_arch_called
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_(architecture)#:~:text=A keystone (or capstone) is,or vault to bear weight.
remember the idea that the Prince was just a child who was suddenly thrust into their position of power?
and that its only natural for them to crumble under that immense pressure?
well, a keystone bears the entire arch's weight, or pressure
and without it the arch crumbles
having pushed the poor prince to a title to large for even the elders to bear, let alone a child, the kingdom doomed themselves. The prince, the poor young prince, could not handle the immense pressure and crumbled under its weight. Without the watchful eye they had created, the spirits and elders fell from grace and found themselves lying among the shattered remains of a broken kingdom.
A keystone (or capstone) is the wedge-shaped stone at the apex of a masonry arch or typically round-shaped one at the apex of a vault. In both cases it is the final piece placed during construction and locks all the stones into position, allowing the arch or vault to bear weight. In arches and vaults (such as quasi-domes) keystones are often e...
All this because they didn’t know how to raise a child
Yeah :/
To be honest. If only they didn't send the prince to the trials. If only they'd raised him like how a normal child or any other child should be raised. Unless they sent the other children to trials too, then, that would be messed up.
Now I wonder if they did send other children to the trials too to test them and discarded them when they didn’t pass
But then ‘King’ wouldn’t exists and if ‘King’ didn’t exists then skids wouldn’t exist (prolly)
tbh, the memories of the prophets does suggest all of that. they trained the children for the trials only for them all to die (evidenced by the murals) and one glowing child to make it
I don't remember how the prophets' memories looked like. I don't recall children in them but I could be wrong. I think the trials are a life or death thing. maybe not. maybe even a mental challenge. but i doubt it.
oh now that happy ameoba said that uh ouch
Can you show the murals? I didn’t know that
as the ruination of the kingdom probably wouldnt have occured, we wouldnt be needed
I am. Questioning things. I stand by what I say, that is some messed up stuff. Are they allowed to choose if they will participate in a trial or do they get forced to?
Also this means the base spirits we see participated in the trials and died via that…
If they choose to, not as messed up but messed up enough for allowing them to do those trials. If they don't, well, no explanation needed to know that's terrible.
@ember temple also @shut trellis here are the murals and the ones depicting the presumed corpses (the kids lying down) if you relive the prophecy memories, youll see the students
Interesting…so the kid gathered the lights and then what? It seems the air one went to Eden?
tbh i have no clue, but i do kjnow that my child brain would be like "I KNEW I WAS THE CHOSEN ONE"-probvably not like that but something like it.
same, but i'd be too scared to attempt the trials.
nah, supposedly the glowing kid may have gifted them to certain elders (water maybe to forest toi help with forest fires-its a theory some have). The glowing kid then went to eden like us or that may depict us
But when we do them and fail we don’t die; we just get sent back to a checkpoint
On top of that the trials seem to take place in a separate space if it makes sense, like a mental simulation
So do the spirits really die when failing a trial? Or do they just get disqualified
For me, I think that the spirits just fainted and not actually die
that is for us, the ones who could make it where the 64 before us couldnt. the ones so deeply tied to both the light and the darkness that we could save ourselves (ill link my whole theory explaining this in a minute)
Edit: Heres the link: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Was it actually 64 others who attempted the trials?
Thats a good point.
First, maybe because of the fact that we are skykids that we don't die. But second, yeah that makes sense. my friend mentioned it once. my only problem is air, which represents balance. how does that work mentally? mental balance? but otherwise, we do meditate so i guess it could work.
there are atleast 64 statues we can save in sacrifice (there are others we cant save befpre pnr but thats not what im focusing on)
Wait but those are in Eden, not in the trials
I mean, we easily slip there (at least i do).
also, yes they are not in the trials but it shows us that we are different from all who came before us, they dont follow our rules and we dont follow theirs
I thought they get either injured/fainted/died. I also thought that since Skykids suffer no penalty for falling, they don’t get any elemental powers when they complete the Trials.
Where are my 350 hearts?
Oh, I forgot
Where are my 400 hearta

350? thats alotta hearts

ohhhhhh
Well, Baudshaw owes me that amount of hearts
ya gotta remove the spaces in between the emogies lol

ah that accursed line of the final krill, i have no idea what causes that. it doesnt seem to be the emogi exactly it seems to have something to do with the position of the message. all of em have lines but that one gets bigger for some reason
Why do skykids and spirits wear masks?
Eyeball beams
same thing for spirits too?
I REMEMBERED ANOTHER THING I NOTICED. WITH THE SALUTE EMOTE, THERE'S BIRDS. WASTELAND HAD BIRDS
Yeah. But they kinda perished due to y'know...
Either that or they flew somewhere else safer. Most likely both, some died, some moved.
Yeah, they probably are very much dead. But still a sign of what kind of life was found there! Elder creatures, probably butterflies (though TGC removed them), and birbs
And mantas
Wasteland could have been as heavily populated as any other area until chaos started to erupt.
Technically its still populated but the creatures are all dark. With a few exceptions like that manta that dies repeatedly.
when spirits die like us , they turn to black rock (travelling spirits and stuff are black rock)
Wait. Is Sky lore telling humans not to polute? Not to harm the ecosystem? Ancestors did just that and boom, ulimate mass destruction.
you mean the darkness balls blast from the geyser in the Sanctuary>?
It means not to use all your creatures made of red fabric-oops, I mean light.
Well, that and the many factories + pipes.
Yeah, Sky has two sides; advancement at the risk of corruption, or not advancing but not destroying the world
Edit - dark stones/artificial stars/power diamonds are at the heart of the darkness
To be honest isn't that somewhat of the real world? But yeah.
And selfishness/greed
For those who don't know what the dark stone is, they're usually (maybe always? Can't remember, it's late) found in the form of kinda roundish, diamondish gold things with dark holes in the top. They're also a type of battery, stronger than flame but dangerous. You can find them by sanctuary geyser, shipwreck (crab fields), forest temple,, I think little prince geyser, maybe other places that I can't think of
Wake up it's time for Elder angst
https://twitter.com/ArsenicAcid1/status/1457672590269431809?s=20
Geez for these types, I always take a bet on which of the twins dies. It a common angst fanart, but the style of this one is stellar.
Mekh: you're overrated anyway smaccs Sah's mask off
ok ok skkds jokes aside we could only guess what kind of relationship do they have when they were still present
Probably sibling-like
Too tired for real sentences but had thoughts didn't want to forget, will return to this tomorrow, goodnight
Isle - pure discovery, blank slate, ocean flood, (boats)
Prairie - discovery to curiosity, (boats)
Forest - curiosity to invention, invention to convenience, (boats!)
Valley - recreational surrounded by residential, convenience to luxury, luxury to complacency (spirit olympics)(center, height)(who is cheering?), (boats!!!)
Wasteland - industrial leading to military base (war fuels invention) guarding (hoarding?) knowledge in Vault, (boats everywhere!!!)
Vault - academia, cultural archives (filled with knowledge now unreachable) (indecipherable language/inaccessible tech), boxes breaking, memory leaked, reality to Eden
Eden - capital, (invention to greed, greed to corruption, corruption to fear, fear to destruction)
Wow
Mmm boats
Interestingly enough it might not be the case but I shone a little light on some structures at the GW all black. Perhaps it was infused with light
Also kinda related to lore but also a meme concept:
Krills be like

Yeah they go down with you sorta when you go through that whirl pool.
If you observe the path of winds I realised that, what if the leaked darkness is corrupted birds/what is left of those birds that flew into the swirly thing
Are you talking about those spiky black things?
also, gw has a butterfly, but they’ve seemed to disappear last update
tgc said: no more butterfly bonk
if skykids copy what spirits do, and the prince is a skykid, that means the prince's bad actions were copied/told to be done after all
/j but plausible
according to others, tgc decided not to bring em back
you mean the child who was thrust into a position of power and was unableto handle the immense pressure placed upon them?
That is a real shame.
They were so nice.
i know...
? im gonna need a picture
I really want to know what the golden wasteland was before, though this topic might’ve been already talked about before
Oh there were butterflies and birds in gw? Are there pictures?
Wait the birds are gone?! The clump of dark plants at the top of the skeleton, in wasteland, would release a batch of butterflies, it was very useful and mysterious.
There's just a funny lil shell!
Yea I noticed the shell there too
Around 27:08 https://youtu.be/gRQZNxEhxGE
The birds are just heard in one of the spirit cutscenes, when you relive the captain's memories

I’ve not been on this chat much lately so pls reply (with a ping) some interesting theories you have seen or made recently
No but this is what I think happened since children can be majorly influenced
yep. precisely
Balls
what do balls have to do with lore?
unless you're talking about light orbs or that sphere the prince had in a mural but..
interesting first message in a very interesting channel
Well, they're more symbolic in the game
Well, circles are. But their motifs are a lot more subtle than Diamonds
Yeah, true.
Stars are also a pretty big thing in Sky.
Not really lore but I just want to talk about my headcanon of king, can I do that?
Sure
Okay so my headcanon does not make any sense btw but I headcanon that King was the first moth or the first sky kid and that megabird made king the villain on purpose, and when king realized that they just accepted because afterall megabird will do anything to sabotage his happiness they have ever had
Just that, again it makes no sense
Did you see mine?
👀 I like this one
I can probably share my theories, this time I'll try to include more info
If all the stars fell in sky, why are there still stars in the sky in some areas?
The "stars" refers to the elders! They're the primary stars I think. In an old intro it shows 6 stars falling
ohhhhhh, thats really interesting! I'n the switch trailer it shows all the stars falling but maybe that was just for artistic purposes
Oh, I don't remember that! Though now that I think about it...in a way they all fell. The spirits' lights got lost
So, I think my theory might help a bit maybe
My friend brought up that maybe instead of all the stars returning being dependent on just your character might be fault, maybe all the sky kids collectivly helping the stars return (maybe by going to ||eden||) is why stars are there even when u first begin the game. Just a theory but its still cool
I really like that elder theory a lot !!
At the beginning, the winged light speak. They say "the spirits here have long awaited you...and your light". Then there's the spirits voice when you light all the candles.
When you go out of the cave, it says "draw near so we can start you on the journey". Collect the wl, "now you're ready! The temple calls you". Then when you get to the first barrier. "The skies used to be connected by the spirits. Elders let the spirits ascend in temples. Their light is lost now. Go find their light" (VERY approximate retelling)
I think maybe the prince created the constellations (prophecy murals), and put the elders in charge of ascending the spirits. I think the spirits can descend through the gravestones, but if the gravestone breaks, then their light is forever lost. The constellations hold the spirits lights
(Also....pots with rotting darkness in them become crabs 🤫)
OH HERE'S A WEIRD THING I BELIEVE. There's some wind stuff in a cave in sanctuary, in the wind paths at the enchantment entry, I think other spots. I think they are FISH. Not wind. FISHIES.
... those things are actually from light awaits, meant to symbolize the wind. There are already fish in game
But, believe what you wish to believe, we know basically nothing anyway tbh
what you just said sums up the entire lore chat and sky lore itself.
imagine if the word propaganda gets censored someday
anyways this probably isn't lore related but why is the pity room called, well, the pity room?
oh no
possibly
should i reshare my gigantic paragraphs of my headcanon of the past of sky
its long but it would be funny
hopefully won't be censored haha but we never know...
i will re share my gigantic lore theory, expect a massive text wall
mods if it gets censored/muted i'll understand
I was thinking about places where you can exit/enter through multiple spots and you would still end up in the same place. I've already heard a theory that Vault is just a dream, so what if places like that library on the right at the beginning of Vault or Shipwreck are like... ghastly apparitions or just extensions of the spirits that reside there but aren't real? because I doesn't really make sense that you enter through one place and exit out another but still end up in the same spot lol. The library tunnel place was made for the Season of Belonging grandpa, so maybe it's just part of a memory of his. And maybe the shipwreck is just a memory of the captain. spooky ghost ship?
well, it may not be blocked because of the length, but its possible you have words in there that will be censored. theres some stuff i didnt know were when i typed long stuff, but lets hope.
TEXT WALL INCOMING (The slowmode is gonna make me take some time to send it since it exceeds discord text limit like 4-5 times lmao)
huge emphasis that this is my personal theory and shouldn't be considered canon, there are possible mistakes and continuity errors, any feedback and opinion will be praised
it is unknown which species the old spirits are so to avoid confusion the old civilization will be referred as "spirit kind"
about a many many centuries ago the old spirits lived and populated the former realms, it is known in fact (by switch trailer) that multiple realms exist prior to isle of dawn, centuries before any form of government could exist the old spirits lived divided into different tribes/groups, conflict existed but it was on a small level, as the population levels increased the tensions amongst this groups grew and grew forcing them to settle who would be the ruler of the realms leading to the trials of prophecy as each leader of this tribes/groups competed to prove who was the strongest, after the trial of fire the leader of the tribe of the valley (valley of triumph) rose as victorious becoming the ruler of the spirit kind, the kingdom was born and centered around the valley (becoming the capital) as decades passed new discoveries were made and the population grew with this kingdom becoming the greatest power in the known world leading to mass migration from far away realms to this lands, the kingdom began to rapidly invest into areas of investigation and knowledge, the vault was created as a way of preserving the history and discoveries of the spirit kind, one of this essential discoveries was diamond technology, by canalizing energy into a dark-stone the power introduced would be doubled becoming a sort of generator of energy which powered things from fancy doors to the new built floating ships which revolutionized transportation and infrastructure.
despite how beneficial the revolution was to the kingdom's economy and society the pollution which was produced became a large issue yet it was ignored not only by the king himself but by its staff which lead to the destruction of the environment near the industrial sector (golden wasteland) alongside this the social inequality of the kingdom aggravated with thousands working on the factories to increase the dark-stone diamond production, this lead to massive social issues with workers demanding better conditions/rights and with opponents of the government criticizing the not stopping pollution of the world, this lead to massive internal and social division which would spark what is known as the kingdom's civil war
the greatest symbol of strength of the kingdom was the eden diamond, which worked as the greatest powerhouse of the kingdom, being built at the peak of the kingdom's golden age located at the top of the vault and king's palace, it was no doubt a show off of strength and power
despite the existence of such powerful artifact rebel groups began to form which were actively against the actions of the empire, at an unknown date this rebel groups began hostile strikes against the kingdom's trade routes, striking and destroying hundreds of cargo ships, the war begun and the realms of isle, prairie and forest quickly fell into rebel control many members of the kingdom's army switched sides and began to aid the rebels, in a matter of days the king's forces were struggling to keep control over the capital at valley, being greatly outnumbered the king's forces retreated to the industrial sector and began mounting a massive defensive perimeter around the vault's entrance and GW's greatest factory, what went later was a process of stalemate.
I don't know what the ship, is sorry haha. But, yeah vault is an illusion. More like a memory than a dream, in my opinion(of course im prolly wrong. also i didn't give the answer to your question in the first place).
during this period both sides began to deploy weaponry with the intentions of breaking the halt, the kingdom's forces began to deploy krills, beings of pure darkness which attacked the rebel armies which usually used mantas and whales as main transport and weapons, despite the high casualties the rebel armies managed to break the stalemate which lead to the battle of golden wasteland, the land was bombed by the rebel armies leading to many deaths of civilians, this bombings also halted the cargo of valuable darkstone gems (shipwreck) after being defeated the kingdom's forces entered the vault and began a evacuation to the top of the mountain, the vault priests by this point have broken off the kingdom's government and began to fight a third force with the goal of protecting the knowledge, the vault skirmish begun with both rebel armies and king's forces trying to breach through the vault, the priests which were skilled benders managed to repel both armies for long periods of time, enough time for the king and its forces to entrench themselves at the top of the mountain where they planned to weaponize the eden diamond and turn the tides of the war
the battle of eden was about to begin
in the meantime the rebels installed a new government around valley, after some months of close quarters combat in the vault the rebel armies were ready to launch a new offensive against the king's forces, the battle was brutal and during the battle the eden diamond's capabilities on war were proven as extremely effective but as the diamond's power was shifted more and more to a destructive mode it began to grew out of control and the technicians were unable to keep the power of the diamond at bay.
I meant the ship full of crabs with saluting captain (I think that's their name) and crab whisperer
in what can be known as "the greatest catastrophe" the diamond began to outburst tremendous amounts of energy which lead to the deaths of most if not all combatants at eden, not only eden was affected and the storm of both darkstone gems and debris engulfed the realms, the rebel government attempted to save as many civilians as possible but with the storm lasting centuries the efforts were in vain, only the ones at the most remote areas (underground caverns, far away places) were able to survive the cataclysm, after the storm calmed down and became stable the realms of sky began to be engulfed by clouds, clouds charged with energy from the diamond itself, which engulfed both destroyed areas and areas with survivors, this marked the start of the end of the spirit kind as time passed less children were born and the species began to dwindle in numbers, the children of the survivors began to explain the tales of doom, death and glory of the past, as time passed on the first children of the light fell from the skies towards isle of dawn, this marks the end of the spirit era, giving start to the skykid era.
and here we are today, studying and walking through the remains of a once glorious kingdom, may the tragedies of the past teach the skykids to build a better future.
that is all, thanks
this would be a great story to tell at like a campfire to moths
any feedback and opinion will be praised!!!
my theory tries to be as realistic as possible to the known events inside sky, it ignores the possible thoughts that certain areas are illusions and dreams, and of course ignores some seasonal content
no, i don't think that its a ghost ship. just my opinion though. one random reason is that its already destroyed. in the vault "memory" it was brighter, nicer. yeah broken in a way but still nicer. at the end of vault after meditating, vault looks broken, the diamond fallen, dust, etc, etc. and its doubtful that the krill and the crabs that can knock out winged light are just a memory. in vault, the mantas are called memory mantas so it makes a little bit more sense? not entirely but... thats my two cents
yeah the dark creatures make it feel more like present-times and the floating rocks in vault seem more unreal
ngl im not a true believer of the vault being a dream idea, i mean we have evidence of the existence of portal technology, confirmed to be used both by skykids and spirits.
meaning that the fact we warp and teleport in vault could be explained as complex use of portal technology and possible use of non euclidian geometry during the construction of the vault.
non euclidian?
basically a type of geometry which kind of defies what we consider standard
i am reading your paragraphs right now
i used to not believe stuff like corrupted krills (well that became canon, sheesh) and the dream vault theory but now, ehhh
for me the vault has always been a place i consider to be greatly anomalous, an evident use of magic, high technology and bending (ye, spirits can bend things xD) make the vault what it is known today
its geometry, the way space is shown to us which seems to be both seemingly infinite but at the same time finite, its a non euclidian place, which defies what we consider "normal"
for me the vault feels like this (non euclidian room)
lmao, Lunar be like "ye i'll give feedback but please i need some time to read xD)
"after the trial of fire the leader of the tribe of the valley (valley of triumph) rose as victorious becoming the ruler of the spirit kind, the kingdom was born and centered around the valley (becoming the capital)"
I have a question about this part, it was the capital?
oh ye I don't know a lot about what is 'common knowledge' in this chat but what you wrote has a lot of honestly interesting ideas!
yep, valley is confirmed to be the capital of whichever civilization stood before skykids
Also, I really liked the theory! Of course there were stuff I agreed with and stuff I didn't. But overall it makes sense ^^
I just call them ancestors lol
lmao ty any things that u disagree i'll be more than welcome to hear, always up for some friendly lore debate xD
so this isnt a disagreement, just another question, im aware governments are needed but sky has one? and one that disagreed with the king?
i think sky had a monarchy, an absolute monarch (they wouldnt place imposing statues in wasteland for nothing, neither be shown a big dude with a crown in vault elder cutscene)
and as any government there are times in which people rise in anger and i think the monarchy that rules over the realms grew corrupt and more ambicious to power (like absolute monarchies suffered great revolutions in our world)
but ye in sky we had a diamond of mass destruction xD
i hope it makes sense xD
OHH WAIT, was the government on the side of the king or the other side?
@jade river
government was side of king
okay, sorry, i misunderstood. thanks!
I just think they kinda look like fish from concept art. Some things I know are unlikely, but I still hope...
About vault: I think it IS a dream or memory. When you are brought to eden from vault, it's a very chilling pull back to vault in a way. The room looks like main big room in vault, but darker, with the diamond destroyed. It snaps back to reality; it's time to finish the task, the elders gave you one last piece of information in their death. Now to get back to reality *information, not advice
Agreed. Although, I have a question. Are the elders there in the cutscenes? Even if in a different world, are they really there? or is it a memory or something?
I really don't know. I think it could be the king's memory, when he was a prince perhaps that is how they showed him his path. But it's all really confusing rn, I spoke way too much Chinese today and my brain burned XD
I remember something saying that the elders in the cutscenes are "beyond time and space" or something to that effect
Oh, just occurred to me...the elder cutscene locations become more clear as time goes on I think. Isle and prairie, pretty empty landscape. Forest you can see the machine. And after that the cutscene locations seem more stable, except maybe vault
Yeah, I have thought of that too, before. Since why would the forest elder be making a diamond now? But at the same time, isn't the isle elder's mask broken in the cutscene? why would it be broken in the past ;-;
Maybe it was broken because when he closed Eden from the outside the force shattered it
yeah
but uh im just gonna say this real quick, yall think the king drank some resize potions before? they got themselves a whole suit, but did they try resizes first? or did those not exist
Maybe resize potions are made from the kings sweat lool
When we relieve a spirit then go to the temple it lights up the spirit on you constellation
For us skykids, resizes are probably some hot potion that heats up our clay bodies and randomly squishes or stretches them for a random amount of time to resize us, how about ancestors tho? Is it like skele-gro for them or something? Do ancestors even USE resizes?
Maybe one day I can be a real Skykid!
Hey lore chat
What are we talking about?
Nothing in particular, Lorechat's been asleep for some time
Would you like to start a topic?
Well, I was in class till now
But my day is nowhere near over
Just wanted to greet everyone because I haven't been here in a while
aight I see
Elders are actually made from charcoal and jade, i don’t think those materials stretch very well lmao
Wait do elders use resize potions?
wait what?
oh that's cool. why would they make resizes if they couldn't change size though? so the only thing i could thimk of is using it for the king. or they attempted to use them, but failed.
*pause button
If the elders are made of charcoal, does that mean they're flammable as hell? *holds candle menacingly
where'd this information come from? yeah i believe you but feel like I'm missing out on stuff
Is charcoal flammable lmao I should probably know that.
I mean they snatch our light in the cutscenes sooo if they get burnt, it’s their fault
Concept art, lots and lots of concept art https://tomzhao.com idk if that’ll link but there’s a whole website of their art, sadly, not every single bit of concept art is included it’s just a portfolio
oh yeah, elders, stop stealing our life source
/j
and thanks!
I’ve told myself that if I wake up 2 hours before my shift at work I can work on my sky lore google doc (-,: will I wake up 2 hours before... idk...
Edit: why did I reply, I need to sleep lmao it’s late eyes no working
Good night! Its cool that you're making a doc, good luck. Also, if you do wake up early, remember to still get a good amount of sleep
Heya lore chat! What's new?
Also have a good night! Like the person above me said, if you do plan on up getting up early remember to get plenty rest.
I worship Tom Zhao. He also shows how some machines work, or used to work. There's pictures of creatures in cages ;-;
Why do the trials look so monochromatic?
Maybe just to make your eyes drawn to the main goal, the green in earth trial, the flames in fire.
Where is there green in Earth trial
Base of the final shrine, it's moss
Oh yeah
I don't like Earth Trial so I don't go in there much so it's unsurprising I missed it
Fire is
I just started thinking, this season seems to be teaching us how the ancestors harnessed light creatures to travel and power their works, and why flame and light was so important.
So... Fan theory Lore dump time!
The first quest, we had to deliver candles to each of the 4 spirits, who placed them at the arch shrines on the 4 islands, and the central island has a load of candles around it.
The third quest showed that collecting back the chimes, the wind only blows the chimes when the candles below them are lit.
This could be similar to how in our world, fire causes light and heat, and that disparity of heat causes wind. That wind opens the paths between the realms, along with ringing the chimes, which we have seen before in prairies bell towers, and forests broken bridge, ringing chimes calls to light creatures, which this young society uses to drag their boats (2nd quest).
Whereas by the time of the height of society in Valley, downfall in Wasteland, and memories in Vault, power diamonds are used to power everything, rather than using light creatures.
As an extension, by harnessing this power into diamonds, as we saw the elders did, that caused a disparity in heat, but also in light, as the brighter the light, the darker the shadows seem.
So as more power diamonds were created, the disparity of heat and light grew larger, until the cataclysm of Eden.
I don't know if this was all meant by TGC, but I love this kind of indirect storytelling through elements of gameplay.
Cool!
Is the top of the temple you see in wasteland the top of the vault that goes to|| eden?||
No need to spoiler here since this whole chat is a spoiler but ye
Oh man the concept art is crazy I love this
is the mountain that eden is on just covered in the clouds of wasteland so cant see it behind the temple?
ig so
Man lore chat has been too crazy
also kind of quiet
makes sense, that's what I've always thought
not surprising
anyways, where are my 400 hearts
400 now? lmao
yep
True
Didn’t you drop the charges like 2 months ago?
No?
Oh- okay then
Yes
I’m sad because I’ve been thinking of the elders so in gonna share that sadness
Since the elders are in a place that’s beyond space and time (I think) and based on what Ive seen In their Cutscenes, the elders are conscious and aware. So like when they passed and I came to this conclusion I can only image how alone they must’ve felt yaknow? The twins had each other at-least but other than that, practically alone. And I also OOB to the twins arena for fun and noticed like crumbling bridge behind the starlight memorial, which is never shown in the live cutscens so like who knows what happened to that. Could’ve been the aftermath for a fight for all I know.
I know vault has them all together at the end but maybe they couldn’t even see each-other since the diamond the vault elder needed to use had to have light, which it didn’t have before us. But yeah the elders were probably trapped in their little realms for megan knows how long, and just suffering in your own loneliness with nobody else with you is kinda😬 (again, atleast the twins had each other)
Has there been an explanation as to how and why Sky kids can move some of the rocks in the Vault with telekinesis? Why don't they use this power for something else like flicking away crabs?
And why is it only those rocks specifically, and not anything else?
ive only heard of this recently, what is the Mega Bird?
お
Think of the god of the sky world, its shown in murals in isle and the lake around the office and even concept art! Even the flight guide symbol closely resembled megabird in concept art
Edit: if your in orbit and face your camera straight up you can see a silhouette of them, and see them again in the credits, hope this helped
there’s a lot more they do but that’s the introduction to them
AGH I SHOULDA LOOKED UP WHEN I WAS IN ORBIT
i did the the bird in the credit but it didnt click then that it was a bird
Do you think that Krills are deaf (they don't respond to loudly honking Skykids) or is that just a game mechanic?
Me neither
I thought it was cool lookin scenery
I mean since I theorize they’re corrupted light creatures maybe they lost they’re hearing? Though I’m glad krills don’t respond to honking…SEESH that would be nightmarish if u accidentally honk
It would also be highly prone to skykid trolling tbh
Also welcome Megan, the Megabird, who is a raw uncooked egg yolk that floats in the sky
Hehe yes
thats a great description XD
also can anyone come up with a reason as to why Sky kids, who are reborn every time they die, have ancestor SPIRITS??? Like...how did their ancestors die?
I think many like to think skykids are a different species entirely from spirits, the game never said they were OUR ancestors after all
(I think
)
Yeah this was the only theory I could come up with.
Well simple is good, I sure don’t want to think of an in depth analysis as to why some things are the way they are in sky
Spirits look pretty much exactly like sky kids but... why are they so huge? XD guess that must be the one difference between their species?
That could be it, idk how much you know about the concept art lore but there’s this figure called the prince (who’s cannoncily in sky that one of the devs said) and they were a skykid to!
Tiny little fella compared to the elders, and they ruled the land
Oh actually there was one other theory I had. It was that maybe reincarnation didn't exist back then or wasn't possible. Like maybe something was blocking the reborn portal? Or it didn't exist or was destroyed???
Wait what is the prince though? I've only seen him once in concept art.
Edit: Lmao I can't wait to hear everything you know
By the way eden is now and how we are reborn when we reach orbit, yeah somthing definitely happened to block eden and clog the reincarnation cycle
Edit: oh boy when this cooldown ends do I have a lot to tell abt the prince
2nd edit: pain
3rd edit: k that’s it, splitting it into parts
The message disappeared 🥲
The prince/alef was a sky kid just like us, they fell from the sky which you can see in the Isle of dawn spirit’s memories, ushering stargazer. Kid learned alot and eventually tried they’re luck in the prophecy trails, and whoever beats the trails becomes king of the land (according to a prophecy.)
(mssg is getting deleted so this is getting splitted, might take awhile to get the whole thing ;-;)
Okay no worries! I'm really interested so I'll be patient~
While many lives were lost trying to beat them, the prince beats them and is eventually crowned king, who is called resh. A lot of ppl theorize if they’re the same person or different beings but I’d like to think they’re one person, anyways a lot of stuff happens under Resh’s rule: discovering dark stone (those blue diamonds we light up to power things) and a Civil war because of light creature’s being slayed. Gotta get that light somehow, light creatures and many people didn’t link that. The wasteland battlefield is a perfect expaple of it: one shield has the sun (light) the other had a diamond (dark stone/king)
This is actually a pretty nice question although I have no answers ready for it
Annnd that entire war somehow made resh end up practically destroying spirit kind, and practically making them instinct, then us skykids came along with the goal to “return the spirits to the stars” as the into said
This is what I and a lot of other theorists believe but feel free to sprinkle ur own little theories
(and with that I’m finailly done
)
Same oof
I mean it’s dark stone, and light is needed to power dark stone so maybe that’s why it’s only those little stones instead of normal rocks
Wait if sky kids came afterwards, then how is aleph, or resh, a skykid???
Many believe they were the first,
That would be cool...but then who were the lives lost trying to beat the trials? XD Other spirits?
My personal theory on that is that Alef was the First skykid made by Megan, testing out how one certain powerful species can handle emotion and moral. Then us millions of skykids came originally without emotion only thoughts, proceeding to only copy the emotions that spirits have
Alas this theory is very loose and unfinished
That’s where it delves into full theory zone, for me: I think since resh was hunting light creatures into near Extinction, an uprising happened. Spirits that opposed resh and wanted to save the light creatures teamed up aginst resh’s army, probably also lead by
again, what I like abt sky lore is how cazy you can go with theories
Also Aleph is clearly a letter from the hebrew alphabet and Resh also sounds kinda like hebrew? So I just googled it and this is what google had to say: Resh as an abbreviation can stand for Rabbi (or Rav, Rebbe, Rabban, Rabbenu, and other similar constructions). Resh may be found after a person's name on a gravestone to indicate that the person had been a Rabbi or to indicate the other use of Rav, as a generic term for a teacher or a personal spiritual guide.
EDIT: Wait nevermind it's actually also the last letter in the hebrew alphabet thats so cool.
Oo that’s cool!
And also a lil funfact: Alef/Resh and all the other elders names are from the Hebrew alphabet! Which was found in old concept art
Edit: gotta find the copy pata list hold on
Wait the other elders have NAMES?! PLEASE TELL ME
Also do you think TS are canon in lore? I just imagine them to be like "oh hey kid, how's saving the world going? anyways here i got you a lantern souvenir"
Edit: ay Tac I got the list need help? Oh yay
: Daleth
: Ayin
: Teth
: Sahmek (yes both of them are named that)
:Tsadi
: Lamed
I had to edit it cuz the emotes were going crazy :)
And there’s are in concept art so they’re not official, but a lot of us use the names to help give the elders names. So consider this fannon stuff
Here u go! ^
WHy they not give valley elders separate names XD Doesn't that get confusing?
I've seen people speculate it to be Sah and Mekh, for separate twins
A joke theory I have is to why: Sahmek tried fighting a krill and got uh, krilled, and they split
Basically this convo (I’m starting to like it more and more even if this one is a joke
)
Well identical twins do technically start off as the same person until they divide, and I think no other sky kid has any family relation to another member.... So this could very well be true?
Maybe not the krill thing but the splitting thing.
Many think when they fell from the sky their star just split, and u got two of em, most reasonable imo
I saw a Tumblr post that went into the meanings of all the names, it was pretty cool.
Daleth means "door"
Ayin means "eye"
Teth means "clay"
Sahmek means "near"
Tsadi means "righteous/innocent"
Lamed means "study!" (A command)
Alef means "champion" (it's a good luck symbol)
Resh means "champion" as well (but it's used negatively, as if someone cheated)
Anyway, the person who wrote about it went into more detail, but that's the basics!
Damn thats amazing how much thoughts was put into that and how well it aligns with the lore.
Mmm as someone who uses the meaning of the elder names to weave a giant headcannon in my sky lore ty for this
I can dm you the link to the post if you want?
Me tooooo pls
I love how detailed it is but it's also funny to me how Teth is just. Clay
Also was trying to think of a scientific explanation for sky kids, and since they fall from the sky like stars, I was thinking maybe they're made of plasma, like stars? So I was watching videos about plasma and I still barely understand it.
I can turn on the brain of a English teacher and analyze so deep into it but I wont
Edit: Mm plasma
Well clay is often used as an example of how moldable someone is, how you can easily leave an impression on something or somebody that is like clay. So maybe thats what they were thinking. A person who can adapt and mold themselves.
Also, did you know you can make plasma but cutting a grape in half and putting it in the microwave?
Brb gonna make a skykid cone to life
(jkjk)
Sky is still part fiction, so I'm not sure if applying much real life logic will let one see clear; Although instead of plasma, they are light
So your research still proves trustworthy ! (Sorry if my English is weird btw, I'm afraid I may misword stuff since it's not my main language)
Why can't they be both plasma and light? Literally, a lightbulb, which is light, is plasma.
Yes that’s true, I literally theorize megabird weaved a skykids form together and their core is in the centre, little glowly circle part on our chest (also ur English is great so no worries!)
Edit: and hey if they’re made of plasma and light it’s the best of both worlds
I once theorised that skykids might be the children of the Megabird-
Helium can be turned into plasma and sky kids are really lightweight and floaty, so maybe they're partially helium based?
O that can definitely work, mother of all children
Edit: u think that’s why skykids can change their voices? By creating a certain amount of helium?
😮 That would make so much sense.
I think mainly because we haven't been shown (yet) any proof of plasma substances existing in the Sky world, so I'm not completely sure yet, but that is an interesting thought!
Now I really like this theory
Edit: love how we’re communicating though emotes because of this cooldown
But....but stars are made of plasma? Even if they don't mention plasma at all... maybe their "Light" is really what humans call Plasma.
Perhaps so! That information would actually do good for me as well, as I've always thought how interesting it would be to see skykids bleed liquid-like light substance
(don't ask why i thought of them bleeding, its for au purposes
)
O also I shared this little theory about the elders earlier but it’s mostly kinda sad
cuz I suddenly rememberd it
Edit: Or like rays of light and they crack, I think that would be cool!
I communicate in emotes a lot anyway 😅
Light like substance, or maybe ichor? Since ichor is the blood of immortals, and skykids are technically immortal, it makes sense.
Also I have this made up theory that Sky was once connected to the human world (since that was planned in early development but scrapped) and something happened so they had to cut the connection, leaving behind office, which was why office is kept in vault behind a barrier (knowledge about humans is forbidden) and thats why oreo is known as the "Secret" of the prairie.
I thought that too! However I believe ichor was mainly blood of the gods, last I read? Because of its gold color. And one would definitely call a skykid a god but even these little chaotic gods worship noodle bird god
Ooo that could explain the office’s location! And Oreos existence instead of being just a fun Easter egg
Edit: Yo I’m writing abt fanfiction too let’s goo
Yep this is definitely going in my fanfiction now.
Gods, and immortals, actually. Since in greek mythology, the giants also bled ichor, though they weren't technically gods
Yes, maybe the sky kids kidnapped him and hid him so that Vault elder wouldn't lock him up in office where they couldn't reach XD I can definitely see a group of kids doing that for a puppy.
Interesting!! There's also been speculations of giants existing before skykids came
Skykid:”may you rest peacefully and live a joyous life in this cloudy fields.”
Oreo:
To me, spirits ARE the giants LMAO like even the children spirits are twice the size of a sky kid like how.
That's making sense too-
No no, giants bigger than spirits also! It was a small theory used previously in this chat although I'm not sure which word to use to search back on
I mean resh is huge in concept art they’re almost double the height of
I mighttt have a photo but I gotta dig
Wait but if sky kids are immortal and Oreo is a normal dog doesn't that mean at some point he will DIE?!?! OH NO. Unless they feed him their ichor blood to try and make him immortal? XD This is getting dark...
Oreo dog=god?
Edit: found a image
XD Maybe Oreo created the megabird
This reminds me of a joke. What do you call somebody who is agnostic, dyslexic, and an insomniac? Answer: ||Somebody who lies awake at night wondering if there is a dog.||
Anyways there’s resh, and lets remember that
is probably like 4 of that tiny skykid’s in the corner stacked on top of them… compared that to resh
(Ignore the statue that’s king propaganda
)
Holy cannoli.... I've seen this before, but never truly comprehended the massive height difference XD
Resh is a big boy indeed
He's an absolute UNIT
Ah this is being me back to how I think alef and resh are the same person
I’m honestly proud on what I came up with
So liiiike if the megabird created all light creatures.... then where is it now? What is it doing? Why does it never show up in game? Is it...dead? Or hidden?
Edit: I'd love to hear ur theories tac
It’s chilling way up in the sky so I’d say it’s hidden, if your in orbit and point your camera straight up u can auctally see them
Also hehe yes alef/resh lore time
THIS concept art sparked my deep routed love for Alef/resh
U see alef on the left and resh in the middle, but o? What’s that in the middle of Resh’s head? A child prahaps
I theorize when Alef’s coronation was being prapared Teth
was in charge of building “Resh” A gaint vessel made of dark stone to act as not only Alef’s crown, but also there throne. Resh was built to not only symbolize the start of a new area, but to also make alef more Intimidating
(I got more)
Adding to the "Alef's Mechsuit" theory huh?
LMAOOOO Mechsuit XD Whats wrong with the theory that he just grew up though?
Angst for Alef :)
If you zoom into the star of the King you can see a silhouette of a person
Many of us think its the Prince LOL
what’s the topic
Resh is Alef in a mechsuit theory
Here’s the thing, once alef is in resh they can’t leave. As to show they’re sworn loyalty to the kingdom and to show alef is committed to taking the role of the king.
Hehe corrupt king time: you know that huge diamond in eden? In early concept ark there was this ark (not the forgotten ark) but think of it like the nohas ark of sky. Resh had it built for some reason.
Anyways, probably because of the civil way I assume Resh’s army grey too weak so they tried to flee, keyword tried.
The ark was ambushed, and uh somehow they overpowered the diamond which lead to a huge explosion. Turning eden on how it is today (my theory). And because of resh, alef was protected form the explosion, as if they had armour but came with a cost.
You know that glowing child we hold hands and hug with when we acend?
Yeah, I see that as alef :)
Edit: hehehe I get to share my alef angst
Mmm, alef angst
And I also theorize when the elders passed they were trapped in a realm, like a prison, they can move and walk ect, but can’t leave, pair that to being alone (twins excluded)
And hey atleast the elders had scenery. Alef got nothing
probably was alone for Megan knows how long and trust me, loneliness can eat u alive when ur alone with ur own thoughts. ESPECIALLY when you have all the time in the world to look back at ur mistakes
But if they're trapped in other realms, how does our sky kid enter?
I assume though the statues, since we interact with them that way, thus the cutscenes
And we perish in eden so I guess that’s how we would get to alef
Idk I'd like to believe the elders aren't dead or trapped, and they live like one big happy family taking care of all the sky kids XD
God I think of that too, but my need to make things sad prevents me
Edit: Also realized I strayed from the resh mechasuit theory a wee bit to much
Buuuuut if that theory were true, personally I'd prefer to be trapped in vault cause I could just read all day lolololol
Yeah, I feel like
has the most freedom out of any of the elders, they have something to DO atleast
But yeah alef makes me sad so I made their backstory sad, cuz for me at the end on the day:
Alef was a kid who yes, made really bad choices (light creature hunting to near extinction, which are NEEDED for the cycle), but we’re influenced by the elders and just wanted to be a good king. (They we’re not
) Was a good kid, not so much as a good ruler
I would continue but it’s like uhhh 2 am where I am and I think I’ve said my peace
was rlly good talking abt sky lore with u Jade, I rlly enjoyed it! Have a good rest of ur morning and night!
Guys I’ve made my first low quality sky meme!
Maybe send it in #sky-memes ?
But this is a lore meme and possible spoilers? I thought it would be better to send here...
Ehh, idk actualy-
That is a good one, @hasty ocean
There are thoeries about the king and the prince that can match this meme.
Alef and Resh are the same person (someone who has grown up)
Alef and Resh ruling over the kingdom together (but fighting to see who is on charge)
And so on.
Can someone tell me which language this is based on?
(ping turned off) Nevermind, just found out it's Hebrew
Basically this too
They could be brothers tho
but Idk just a thought
Well at least they're not exactly the same. That would've been embarrassing XD
um…excuse me, where’s the next season’s sneak peak or spoilers?
some on youtube, others are twitter.
i mean, no official sneak peaks? even in beta?
not sure. Perhaps the folks on the beta-spoilers channel knows.
okay thank you )
What if alef and resh were brothers? And since you said they were fighting to see who rules eden maybe resh got rid off alef removing every history of him like he wasn't even there, like he didn't exist somehow, but that's just a theory who knows
'big brother is watching'
adding that to the king propaganda catchphrases
As if it wasn't already on the list XD
eyh i wondered what the candle the skykids use to connect with each other come from?
is it coming from their body? like something they can summon?
is it the source of their energy?
Theory about what crabs are before they became the dark little pebbles in our shoe.
-
They were regular pebbles that got caught in people's shoes before they got corrupted by the darkness.
-
They were Light Crabs
-
They were randomly materialized from thin air
-
They were other sort of Light creature before they got wiped out from the darkness and their species later went extinct and there only existed crabs
-
They were from another realm (possibly another realm after Eden when entering the big crystal thingy)
I think #5 is the best explanation
i think because they're the only land creature they got corrupted by the water, (the water and rain does drain your energy)
or they come from the same place as the kryll
Polluted water does seem like a plausible explanation
yeah that black goo from wasteland, it had to play a role
Theres a theory that krills are corrupted mantas, They got corrupted by the diamond armor. CREDITS: The artist Kamilico#9885
Don’t forget to credit the original artist
I don’t know who made it but I think someone in this channel did, they did amazing work
Kamilico#9885
The fact that there is a gap between the darkness (GW and Eden). Makes me wonder on how they expelled away the darkness (or even if any got there anyway. and if so how?)
What gap
Diamond plated Manta looks both cute and brave. Like its going to protect me from that man standing in the corner of my house, watching me
Facts 😂
Like how in GW theres like a ton of dark stuff influenced strongly by Eden and after that theres the Vault where its calm, melancholy, peaceful. After Vault is just straight up evil and scary again. To put it simply GW is dark and scary, Vault suddenly has no darkness and is thriving with Light, Eden is scary x2
This is the reason why there’s a gap
Oooooh
Yeah, Titan_s story was pretty interesting
I have a new headcanon now
@upbeat tiger @hexed coral These docs might help you catch up to common lore terms and that kind of stuff
This document has basic terminologies and basic info about core game lore to help new peeps get up to speed https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit

I wonder
- Why is the prince/king's face not in Eden, but others? Did the others "lead", instead of the Prince?
- Could the prince be ruling at a young age and never really "growing", which could lead to overworking (they placed responsibility on him) and it just made him take rash decisions?
(of course this is probably stupid, so hh)
Yeah #2 makes sense, he was just born, thrown into the trials, then when he succeeded, the elders (I think) made him king, So he was probably having mental breakdowns 5 times a day
Who? Prenc?
Yeah
What would the winged lights be, exactly?
Are they artefacts? Living star lights? Souls?
Yes, Prencles Potato chips /j
Oof, souls would make it pretty dark
I think they’re souls of all of the king’s subjects when he nearly destroyed the planet
not necessarily.
If they are souls, they are souls that were never alive, souls that are pure.
They give their light to the skykid to help them fly farther, be stronger and protect their own souls.
That's a rlly nice theory
Yeah
It still feels like there is vital piece missing.
Winged light (formerly known as stars) have very little information about them in the game.
The only interactions I can see would be winged light interactions are the memory of the ushering stargazer, and the winged light you find in the void under home and in the final area in eden.
This could mean they are pieces of the corrupt king, though what makes it difficult to support this idea, is the colour symbolism in the game.
Orange/yellow is the colour of light (flame), which is holy and associated with the Megabrid.
Blue is the colour for the ancestors and their diamond technology.
Red is the colour of corruption and darkness. It is the opposite of light and a danger for light creatures.
If the king is associated with the colour red, then he is the opposite of the orange/golden colour of the winged light.
I used to think black represented corruption-
And how did the king even get corrupted
Both in the old lore, and the current lore suggests that the king relied too much on the darkstone (power diamond) technology and that drain his light and corrupted him.
The old lore told about an explosion that could also have corrupted beings caught in it (like the krill for example), though I have not found enough in game evidence to support this fact other than the state of eden and the absence of the king.
What if the winged lights were the first creation of Sky kids gone wrong
So I guess, the king was kinda messed up?
Like, failed experiments?
Gods, this cooldown
Yeah lol
some specific colored cape belongs on certain places though I wanted the know the origin of the default brown capes the skykids have
Just wanted to bring up again: the winged light speak at the beginning of the game now! So they have a conscience of some kind, but it isn't enough info to know WHAT they are for sure
Wait wait wait
How do we know it's the winged light that's speaking at the start, and not Megabird or the king or something?
In a way, you can say it is a gift from the winged light or Megabird.
The default skykid hair and cape is unique to the skykid as there (as far as I know) are no other characters meant to have these cosmetics.
oh hmm
When you see the first winged light, they say "draw near so we can start you on the journey". So I'd assume it's the winged light speaking. THOUGH. Perhaps the winged lights are the megabird's way of connecting the world?
The winged light, skykid, king, and megabird are closely related
Wait where does it say that? I don't remember seeing it?
When you start the game, it's a new intro thing! I don't know when it was added *only new players can see it
They are linked, yes.
But how and why?
The skykids are to find spirits to save. Since the season spirits count too, this means us players are stuck on the ever shifting cliff-hanger until the game gets an update.
It feels like we are stuck on this slow moving glacier and have to wait to see what happens next. All while doing daily grinds for more cosmetics and/or unlocking friendship features.
frick
I played before the intro update so I don't know what the retcons are or whatever
WHERE'S THE OLD INTRO VS NEW INTRO DOC FOR GOODNESS SAKE
I typed on my own personal thing all the intros...I didn't update it with the most recent things. But the lore has changed since the old ones, so you gotta pick out pieces *I can send transcripts for old ones
you can look at youtube videos to see the new intro.
That or use another device to make a dummy account.
- In the darkness, lays a kingdom covered in clouds where, from ages long past, dwelt the spirits of light.
Back then, light and dark lived in harmony, but as time went by, a kingdom prospered and had fallen.
The prophecy promised its children would return to restore the light.
For those were the days of the winged travelers...
May I ask if this was a translation from a different language in the game, or if this is an old version of the intro text?
- A place once flourished with the river of light...
...until we brought it to ruin
...but then you all arrived.
Our poor people.
Trapped in darkness.
We must free them.
I watched old videos and simply copied the text exactly as it was in the intros!
HOW OLD IS THAT VIDEO
- You awake on a distant shore, away from your family...
Maybe here you can find a new home.
Follow the bell, find your way home.
I didn't write down the dates, but I'm sure I can dig up the videos today! *actually lemme get my laptop and just post video links **there's a lotta intros
Wow... the intro has changed a lot... wonder what's with all the retconning
Okay, this doesn't have an intro really, but I wanna show yall the king statue. I have watched this many times, I love that statues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQjP_KRBEoU
Hmmm... the old intros might be retconned, for current lore focusing on the current intro might be best...
Though that does make me wonder what the reasons for the retcons are
"River of light" could refer to the huge light creature migration from all corners of the kingdom towards Eden, sometimes birds do look like rivers too.
Imma post intro video links in order of when they came! I will try to fit all of them
Intro also says “we as spirits” so intro narrator prolly a spirit.
Which spirit, though?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4sdw6beFeo&list=PLKh97ggSLvdxTgYWBAUO7V_Zd4d0Yc1Ad, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaKM34evKF4&list=PLKh97ggSLvdxTgYWBAUO7V_Zd4d0Yc1Ad&index=22, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZBePGk6UqY&list=PLKh97ggSLvdxTgYWBAUO7V_Zd4d0Yc1Ad&index=29, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dNShWJ0jiY, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ICnt_pT_ro
I think there's two voices at the beginning now, one is the winged light another is a spirit. The spirit only talks through candles, the winged light speaks outside of the candles
These are the links I found, Idk if I got them all?
I can also transcribe it all, so we can see them side by side
Wait a minute
In the new intro, it says "As spirits, we soon became many... creating our home here in the clouds."
Wait... so did they ever have solid bodies or not? Is the Sky kingdom some sort of lower heaven/purgatory?
I wonder if there was a waiting list to be ascended after they died, and until they could be ascended, they just chilled in the clouds as spirits XD
Intro transcriptions:
March 2018 - In the darkness, lays a kingdom covered in clouds where, from ages long past, dwelt the spirits of light. Back then light and dark lived in harmony, but as time went by, a kingdom prospered and had fallen. The prophecy promised its children would return to restore the light. For those were the days of the winged travelers...
May 2018 - A place once flourished with the river of light... ...until we brought it to ruin. ...but then you all arrived. I almost lost hope light would return... Our poor people. Trapped in darkness. We must free them.
September 2018 - You awake on a distant shore, away from your family... Maybe here you can find a new home. --> For as long as stars have fallen, the ancestors shepherded light skyward. That was...until the great storm. Now, they await you in their distant temples... ...eager for your help in returning the light. Journey to their lands and recover their light. Together we will replenish the stars.
2019 - With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came, and the stars fell...Together the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds. If only they had listened... A long time has passed. Now, I call to you. Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home.
2021 - The spirits of this realm have long awaited your arrival... ...and your light. "With the stars united, our light was infinite... ...and together, we lived in harmony. As spirits, we soon became many...creating our home here in the clouds. But darkness came and the stars fell... ...and with their light we faded away. A long time has passed. Now we call to you. Go forth, child. Return our spirits to the stars." Draw near, so we may start you on the journey... At last, child...you are ready. Begin by answering the temple's call. --> Spirits once lit the skies and connected our realms... ...in temples, our elders would usher them skyward. But now...their light is lost. Awaken the spirits still lost in this realm to proceed. --> Other Elders wait in distant temples to be awakened. Restore them, child, and we will wait for you in the light.
Alright, that's a lot...
Now for the questions:
Are the Light Awaits intros still canon? Maybe we should ask next livestream.
What is "home"? (2019 intro)
Did the spirits ever have bodies? The Switch trailer seems to imply so, but the intros always refer to them as "spirits" even in the parts that are supposed to describe pre-storm times.
Speaking of which, how significant IS the Switch trailer to the main canon?
I think the devs have said before that the lore has been changing, though I think it becomes more solid as time goes on
I think there could still be relevance in the old intros, but I also don't think we can use all the information in them to be fact
Oh, an evolving lore, eh? Hm.
Can any contradictions be found within any of the intros?
I'm not sure. I think other people will have to chime in, I can't actually find any contradiction
I also typed out the original backstory, if anyone wants that. But I think the devs confirmed that the original story isn't the current story
Yeah, that's true. We've got questions for the next livestream, huh?
What is "home"? (2019 intro)
There's contradicts, yes. But visible contradictions Canon lore wise? That's hard to find since canon lore is still vague. There's contradictions to some therories imo, even rather plausible ones. but idk any real contradictions.
I am constantly running into contradictions when I theory, really frustrates me XD
ive heard something about natural krills though, which contradicts the corrupted krill thing.
From whom?
Here's the original backstory, it's a little hard to read https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5cf9836e9d1c5200018df596/1582059389689-8VVFCJVTZVFNN20KLTL6/133b_Sky.jpg?format=2500w
To be honest, I don't remember haha. So the natural krill could have been just a theory.
Nah, I think the "corrupted krill thing" is more explicit. And it was said by a dev too!
I can send a transcription of the story, will have to be in multiple parts to get it all here
Yeah it is. Pretty much canon now. Personally i preferred natural krills in the past I just heard it once.
Hey lore veterans just a question
How do you send off a theory that is now dead because of new info?
I'm not really sure what you mean by that
wait just outta curiosity, what counts as a lore veteran? im not one, but
Like
As we learn about new info we realize how bad some of our old theories were
How do you send them off (rest in peace old theory) ?
Oh, I like to think of those theories as still existing as their own spin-off story kinda. There's a lot of old Sky concepts that I find beautiful and want to keep even though they aren't really true to the lore c:
Ah I understand that
But I mean bad theories created by us sky fans
How would you metaphorically bury them? 🔨
There's beauty in all the theories. As TGC said, the interpretation is up to the individual. There is no right answer (though I keep trying to find the right answer)
Personally I'd incorporate a bit of them into a new theory. Or i'd just ignore them and occasionally bring them up
There's probably some truth to so-called "bad" theories. There's not really a way to conclusively prove things wrong in Sky if you ask me
There is one thing tho.
The Forgotten Ark didn't crash because they got ran over by a krill. It got broken by a lightning strike.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I still think the wind is flying fish even though they probably aren't...and there's a character I desperately cling to in hope that they exist even though I don't think they CAN exist...
I think the ship could have been destroyed by both, there's a lot of symbolism in the game. The storm could partially be led by krills
Krill Zeus bringing on the lightning /j
Yup, that's it, there's a Krill Zeus responsible for all the pain! Mystery SOLVED! 😄 No more wondering how death comes, it's because of the almighty Krill Zeus
Now I have to draw Krill Zeus
I have a few things to say about this. Some questions, some opinions and statements. But first, thanks for posting this.
-so this shows that we are all the Megabird, at least in the old version. An entity made of everyone.
-so the prince came first. why was he chosen to be prince in this, though?
-something in sky has a gendered pronoun now
(the megabird is referenced with her)
-who is the shaman ancestor with the prince?
-in one of the pictures, the prince is still short lol
-so in this, the king and the prince are the same.
-the King is in the storm.
-Isle elder is the ferryman
-Even in this corrupt light creatures existed.
-an ark? the castle?(yes i know, old lore)
-A war between light creatures and ancestors
Hey, what do you peeps think would make more sense for the prince to have? The newish enchantment light or the new belonging memory cube?
what does this question mean?
Oh, here's something about the elders! Ferryman/gatekeeper - isle | Builder - prairie | shaman - forest/vault? | Warrior - wasteland
It means I like dressing up like alef/resh before they became the king
WAIT theres a what? oh gosh i gotta check out sky now uh um what does the memory cube look like? like the vault cubes?
I think the light ORB since they could be a skykid. And plus the mural
Ah... I guess the light orb? there is that one mural of Resh and their light orb :p
HEY I DO THAT TOOOO. It's fun to dress as the prince
well, the enchantment one we now have is only one of the lights.
It's not even one of the colored lights. It's just a default yellow light. I think it should work. :D
the light is a ball, the memory cube is like the ones in vault on the shelves
OH YESSS USE ORB. KING HOLDS ORB IN VAULT CONSTELLATION!
well the thing is,its supposed to be the orange light but for some reason its yellow. for some reason that light seems to be inconsitstent. heres a message from when i was talking about this before
Now my prince cosplay is incomplete. I didn't buy orb ;-;
dear goodness that is low-quality
transcript pls?
ok, heres the first part
Second
Yeah that is pretty odd
why does it have the fire symbol if it's not orange?
I guess TGC wanted to make a catch-all light orb?
Idk but that might not be a good idea, we deserve all them colors
i think it was meant to just be the orange one as it has the fire symbol on the item in our emote gallery thing. also third/final one
Maybe try bringing it up as a bug report and see what happens? (actually no don't try that)
or we can sit here and wait for Ktjn to bless us with holy wisdom
Hey Ktjn we have soup
send it here, don’t @ anyone
alright, whose willing @ ktjin? Im sure not going to
Edit: this was a joke btw
🥣🍲 mmmm yummy soup
Yeah I also noticed how the orb resembles the one in the lightseekers cave instead of like. An enchantment orb
It’s funky but I guess establishes more ties between those two seasonal groups GJFHDDH
can-can someone else do it?for some dumb reason i dont want to...
OH the yellow one as an item looks similar to wax right? imagine if it was orange. maybe they decided to make it yellow so it could be bettwe distinguished from wax? still, this is an unsatisfactory reason for me
Not even 3-chevron wax is as big as the orb
Not even halfway
i know, thats part of why its an unsatisfactory reason, but it is still a reason nonetheless
edit: possible reason
All we can do is put it in #live-feedback and hope Ktjn descends with the holy wisdom
Yep
My theroy is they are actually dark creatures, but not aggresive like krills. Kids need light as krills do, but they don´r kill other creatures. This explains why we can stand on dark plants.
can someone else send the message please? for some dumb reason i dont want to... sry
Sky kids are part light and part dark afaik. There's a concept art here somewhere on the origins of sky kids....
OOO
here! #lore-discussion-spoilers message but wait this is probably a different topic
this is more of origin. But there have been several discussions on what exactly are skykids that I can't find at the moment
idk much about this therory but also, in the pity room, there is a darker child and a light child. i saw it as our clay body and light soul though haha
Thankss
If I may share an intriguing pic from concept art of eden... https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5cf9836e9d1c5200018df596/1582059705583-W9JC94G6XGLKW9WOS9XV/203_Sky.jpg?format=750w
And a disturbing image of how the machines might have worked https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5cf9836e9d1c5200018df596/1582059532423-0ZYP1WZIWP05MBWNIJE0/157_Sky.jpg?format=1000w

OKAY I NEED SOME HELP. I wanna know why vault is IN wasteland...literally connected to wasteland's temple
So that wasteland can protect Bault ig
Those are fantastic notes!
Please, please say these can be added to a lore doc. 🙏
🇵 🇮 🇳 🇵 🇱 🇪 🇦 🇸 🇪 📌
The switch promotion video (the animation) shows how much detail TGC has put into the world and the lore. The animation is able to show it much better than the game because of the limitations for the game.
we let them die a silent and slow death.
In the lore chat, folks usually talk about what is relevant at the moment.
Lore-kids though would likely keep a doc of these theories. though if one of them ends up dead, then that info would either be archived, or just erased.
I am not sure, that is what I assume is the case.
They both share the same name since originally there was only 1 valley elder, the elders only have names in concept art so it was probably an idea that was scraped so no need to rename them
I like to think vault is underground, within the eden mountain, there are no windows, and it’s a vertical structure that goes up, at the end you start at edens enterance
Today i see a person move with expression like crab, meditation but she don't use the hand glitch
A person have idea of how she did
Idk where put question
wait is this concept art?
Isn't there another concept art that shows GW is found below Eden which is why it's the most affected realm out of all of them? Plus, it makes more sense than that concept art imo because then, the Hidden Forest should have gotten just as affected as GW if they really are found near Eden
Something I'm curious about, why is there cheering in the valley races? There aren't THAT many spirits are there? ESPECIALLY not that many that aren't trapped by darkness.
Maybe we skykids imagine it? I could see it happening, like without music or the crowd cheers the races would be pretty dull, not saying skykids don’t know the cheering is fake but I’d say they’re have creative imagination’s
Maybe the sounds heard by the spirits who ARE there are part of the memory as well. They don't remember who's cheering, but they remember what it sounds like
Oo that could explain in aswell
Makes sense, both of those make sense.
I was thinking about how capes were a satus symbol in spirit kind, well more like it was seen as a luxury item few can afford.
Like isle has none, prarie has one cape (yellow) but it’s very cheap. Then you got the other realms and boy, they’re really expensive. Getting their 2 purple cape is 90 hearts, and that color is usually reserved for high class people in the real world. And the tier 2 blue cape in vault is 60 hearts.
like getting pigments around 100 years ago to dye things was hard, ESPECIALLY purple and blue. (Don’t get me started on the tier 2 pink cape)
Doesn’t help in the sky world that there doesn’t seem to be to many things to even dye stuff with, which makes me wonder how some capes gte the color they have
Idk this was just a idea I have, I feel like the ones that have capes with worked super hard to get and and they cherish it. Or they were just rich and could afford it… -cough- pink cape spirit-
Also Since the purple cape spirit seem to be a hunter (they had a bow and arrow in their memories) I wondered if they slayed light creatures and exchanged them for whatever currency spirits used. Like light creatures were hunted and farmed for dark stone afterall. Idk how the others got their capes tho
Maybe the cape is a symbol of them having a lot of kills
-Stares at pink cape guy-
Ok lol that's probably not the case
I think the cape is for ambush from above
Like the hunter could jump off and glide and kill something mid-air
Oo yeah that would probably help
Also maybee if some spirits had an important job or were part of a important group. -like flight guide and the dark blue cape spirit: praying acolyte. An acolyte is someone in a religious group that takes care of smaller tasks. Maybe they were gifted the capes to show their status.
I’d say capes that fall into the green/yellow family are easier to make cuz there’s a lot of greens/yellows pigments in sky… not much pink/blue
Flight Guide doesn't have a cape tho...
Ah sorry I meant flight guide as in the all the spirits
like light whisper and lively navigatior
I forgot that’s their name and that it’s not not used to describe the flight spirits
Anyways Out of what materials the capes are even made of I don’t know… and frankly I don’t wanna find out for the spirits that have fluffy capes
I've heard one theory
Let's just say it's best not to hear it
The skin of crabs
Ohh yea
I always thought the capes were made out of materials like cotton and silk
Seriously, i think they’re mostly made of light- to have a physical material make up the clothes of millions of skykids would be preposterous
I agree with this. And since light is a spectrum and can be pretty much any color, it makes sense that dye isn't necessary.
Also, it makes a good reason to why they don’t have shadows
TRUE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS. Although other creatures of light in sky do have shadows kind of...
They could have a physical body. Like how skykids are made of clay.
I think their bodies are constructed of stardust/a large amount of carbon (like human beings) and their souls are plasma/light.
Yeah, thats possible
I like the idea of clay though! They really do seem like that kind of material. Their masks also always seemed like clay to me. Also reminds me of golemns
Yeah! It's possible that skykid's are Megabird's golems! I even have a theory about how we're not truly free~
I'd love to hear that theory 0-0
I had a theory that sky kids are blind ( coz they stretch arms to the nearest obstacle and use honking to navigate). But now I think it's wrong. Because sky kids automatically turn their head to nearby person and also can "see" emotions that spirit is showing. But I still think they use echolocation to navigate and "see" further
Agreed. Honking does show them where players are as well as kinda sense out objects. And plus they need to be able to feel the emotions the spirits show or else they wouldnt know what emotes mean what. (im still dubious about that last part though..)
and in he game it says (at least roughly) ‘when you honk, The Light will show you the way’ or smthn like that
Yeahh it does. Skykids are pretty cool creature ngl.
Do you think learning emotions is a side effect of freeing the spirits?
Perhaps. Its a good theory but I don't use it personally. I just think that they do have emotions, they just don't know how to express them. Honking was the only way.
Huh, I think honking is an echolocation thing, like skykids are bats, they can see but not that well
And if skykids are like golems they probably aren't born with emotions either
y'all I think I found something potentially big
What?
Where are my 400 hearts
In native american mythology, there is a creature called a thunderbird. I have some rlly good quotes from a website... "There are many stories that tell of the Thunderbird in Native American legends, which make the creature appear to be one of the key deities in their beliefs."
"The Thunderbird is known to have harsh punishments for people who have done wrong and is even said to have turned an entire village to stone for their wrongdoings. " Idk why this reminds me of the stone sky kids in Eden
Genshin lore?
Oh cool, darn you genshin I gotta touch some grass now goodbye
I feel like this points to megabird 👀 It is said to be large enough to hold a killer whale in its talons as if it were a fish...
There was a native american tribe called the Arapahoes, and they were called "the sky people" or "the blue cloud men" by neighbouring tribes, they wore feathers and blue bird motifs on their clothing
and their symbol was the thunderbird
It's just rlly crazy all this stuff I'm finding feels like the new flight season, we could get some rlly big answers maybe about megabird if we dig into this "The Thunderbird was known to give life by nurturing the lifeforms on Earth and giving them the necessary rains to survive."
I feel like sky kids are native american now haha basically I'm getting the feeling that we can discover how megabird was respected and interacted with by the spirits in sky by looking at the thunderbird myths in comparison with the evidence we have in-game
im psyched haha (it all feels very real now.... because I have Arapahoe ancestry and I just so happen to be into Sky cotl haha)
That’s awesome
And pretty cool if megabirb is like thunderbirb
I do agree that Sky kids most likely have some sort of sixth sense, aided by in game features like icons and visible sound, but from the sky kid's perspective those things aren't really there, they sense it somehow and I love the echolocation idea
they both sound very powerful hehe
Yes and considering thunder and fire and light are usually connected (in stories) yknow
yeeeee it's so exciting
"This legendary bird is symbolic of things like life, truth and energy. It is considered a powerful sign of destiny."
"Other, more peace-keeping tribes viewed Thunderbird meaning as a supreme Nature Spirit and a solar animal. Its eyes were said to be made from the sun, and upon waking in the morning, the Thunderbird issued the dawning day. Alternatively, when Thunderbird retired at night, its sleepily closing eyes marked the solar dusk."
now I want to learn Arapahoe’s culture
hi lore chat
hellu lol we are talking about native american birb myths and how they could connect to megabirb
opinions on this man?
YOU BEAT ME TO IT
"Thunderbird is known as the Skyamsen, and is the dominating force of all natural activity." Don't mind me just spewing quotes from articles haha
Huhhh... this is pretty interesting
Our lord and saviour the King
Tsurumi Island lore
hehe
lol
For a second I wasn't sure if I accidentally clicked on another server
When we relive spirits, there is a stone orb with their soul or something. Probably made of darkness but the megabird is like punishing them perhaps
that's interesting I hadn't thought of it that way
megabird punishing them for what?
For destroying the world with darkness I guess. For corrupting it with darkness and harming light creatures, etc. I don't really dig what I said, it was just a train of thought.
Oh. I thought the ancestors getting corrupted was a result of them corrupting the world and not something that megabird inflicted on them.
I think so too, but that was just a statement
but anything is possible. who knows, maybe the king directly vanquished them. or the light creatures destroyed them. (this is a joke, no.)
