maybe it would have made the parralel with krills too obvious ?
Is that a bad thing? Now the horns are assumed to be complete add-ons made of darkness. Hhh let light creatures have beautiful rams horns too!
I like to think the horns are like, added on at first for the creature's comfort with the harness and all (i know it would be impractical irl but tbh we have flying whales in this game) but they later on got weaponized in that wasteland war. Maybe that also explains why krills are never found earlier than the Golden Wastelands...
Added on? Genetically modified? I can imagine one of these stabbing through its enemies.
nah just...
(this is a turkish ottoman horse helmet)
could be that the elder spirit manta in vault was indeed representing these possibly extinct greater manta mounts
Hehe. False horns are an odd way to make steering them easier.
I guess I can still headcanon that the one in the trailer is a juvenile or maybe some types have smaller horns like sheeps. If worse comes to worse and we never get a mantatee with beautiful horns, I guess I could settle for one just wearing horns instead. Siiigh.
decided to illustrate that with a honky paint doodle but you get my point
Maybe they had darkstone armor and the eden cataclysm corrupted them even worse than the crabs because of this.
Thats some stellar art. Im still holding out for mantatees with organic horns though.
Maybe not this big but it makes them so unique.
Now that is an interesting detail.
So that may be the Sky Prince, or a winged light (or both???)
Usering Stargazers memory used to be just her going on a walk and nothing happening if I remember right. It was updated and changed along with Pointer (who used to just go in a circle and look at murals and did not make candles or have a family) during season of prophecy. I personally think the identity of the trial victor is revealed in the season pendant itself. But thats up to whoever to decide themselves.
Ushering startgazer used to show a mural, which thankfully still appears during the memory, except the spirit no longer goes to it.
Pointing Pilgrim -I mean- CandleMaker, used to explore a cave, study the murals and point to the temple, now it is his child that is the pilgrim and him making candles.
The season of prophecy could be a way to give more context to the spirits involved. Perhaps the season was showing how someone that completes the trail becomes enlightened (literally) with power. Power that the elders took notice and supported or were a part of at least.
This could be the sky prince, though I lack the evidence in my notes to support that concept.
I am more so hoping that there would be more ingame info about these shiny bois, or anything TGC is willing to give info to confirm.
Theres a few proofs for it being prince. The pendant, the idea he gives the elders some kind of item like the old timeline. That he seems to be atop eden once or twice. All of that im sure somehow can be dismissed somehow. As for glowboys.....I feel almost completely confident that.......no one at TGC currently has a solid and confirmed answer.
Alright.
I see what you mean and agree with that.
That is a valid and credible point, all that it needs to be official, is TGC spilling the beans.
does anyone still have a screenshot of the prev ts's items? im analyzing something and i need it
you mean the items added to them?
Yes pls, especially that orb thing's image
i may either be on to something or just completely lost
Perhaps if there is not screenshots, you can take a look at the wiki, or youtube videos some players made.
The only one I have is the season of rhythm banner stuffed in an assembly backpack.
Ah okay I'll go see if i can find something there, thanks
what are these symbols in their hands? anyone have any ideas?
Looks like the symbol when you’re trying to find where you’re supposed to go. Maybe it’s a direction?
Ancestors role was to “Shepard” the light to the temples so it could be flung back up to the stars. I guess that mural is a literal depiction.
Those are likely stars they are taking to the temple as offerings?
That or balls of light.
Where did you get that ?
hmmmmmmmm
This is found in dawn.
It is on the side of the cliff to the right. Not the one you fly to the temple from.
I honestly forgot. I do remember it used the word “Shepard light” and I don’t think it was about skykids. Uhhhh. Hmm.
also who is this supposed to represent?
the elder of dawn.
There is a similar one in the cave of prophecies.
thought so
Yeah, the proph one has his little horns from the boat hat.
no, i meant the claim but i misread anyway
oh the shepherd part, hmmm... let me look something up.
Looks like shepherd is mentioned in isle’s pin poem.....but I don’t think that was it.
ok, I think the shepherd mention is either the system for players to help each other, which is unrelated.
Another shepherd mention could be in eden, where you 'return the light to the fallen,' if I recall correctly.
Also, while looking at old videos for proof, it weird to see parts of the realms look different, and I dont mean what is added.
For example, when you reach the butterfly fields in prairie, the used to be an arch at the start, but now it is just a pair stones.
The arch was probably removed to make it easier for players to land and not bonk against them.
But wouldn't it be better to have the wind not force players to land there? I get why they did that for new players, that way you can check out the area before running all willy nilly around it, but still. I vaguely remember crashing into it and did not notice it missing since watching old videos.
"Dawn breaks with stars fallen,
Ferries stir to distant calls.
Shepherd us home back upwards,
A herald awakes to heed us all.
"Dear children, no hope was lost
We saw of your return to us."
The elder opens up the skies,
And together again, we fly. ”
–Elder of the Isle Pin Poem
For reference
Apparently the pin could teleport the player and friends holding their hands to the OOB of the elder's temple.
If that is true, that is cool.
O. Thats about skykids. Hmmm. Maybe it was the mega rebirth chart mixed with that isle pillar mural? I could have sworn there was something said somewhere but im turning a blank. “Ancestors shepherded light” and I have no idea where I got it.
Same here, still wracking though the old videos.
I think it was from light awaits when you come to aviary for the first time, thought i vaguely recall it was the elders and not the ancestors
I know the conversation has passed this but, the little stars that they are holding also show up in prairie village! on the docks between each island, I only just noticed that
ooo I'll take a look later
eyo, TGC is live on youtube. just a heads up
oohhh ty!
Quick question, do you think the prophecy spirits & quest giver were alive when Alef faced the trails or no? Or can we see it it either way?
It is likely the case the ancestors were alive during their memories.
That’s tru, figuring out if they were alive when alef showed up is the problem, cuz if they were alive from that time then they’re old
They probably were
how long they live
frick
It was short and they were showing off the latest season quest, and asked ktjn questions
what was asked?
mostly how they are, what food they like, casual high jinx.
did anyone speak ktjn's name?
what did they say
Nothing I noticed would be lore hints, just a casual interview for Ktjin
i mean how do the devs say Ktjn
Have any of the livestreams had any actual info in them aside from flight being barely based on the aviary?
Talented Builder gives really good hugs.
Im gonna be in hot water if I say thats not valuable information. So instead I’ll say it was already easily guessable.
I've been wondering what's Isle doing here
Oh, that's the eel constellation from light awaits ! Isle is similar but different
Oh!! My bad
But that's interesting how they kept a bit of Light Awaits in live
I believe the other constellations that looked like that in prairie had turtles come out
it was kinda pronouced like kitchen? except with a more harsh k at the beginning, but they said that any pronunciation was valid ha
I pronounce it as ‘kay-tee-jin’ lmao
Turtles? Where?
in the beta! there’s a full play through on YouTube, I’ll see if I can find it and link the time stamp?
Briefly in beta these got activated. You had to collect light shards in the area. It didn't show us any constellation animals but it did give us a candle as a reward
can we bring it back...? please...?
edit: wait a minute is this another valley race
More like a collect light shard spirit quest but you had to pick them up instead of just passing through them
wdym pick it up? like a carry spirit but weirder?
So you know how we picked up the candles in Flight quest 1, it was that kind of mechanic
Ohhhh, I see
Do the skyways from this season tell us the geographic locations of each realm relative to Eden? Like do the realms surround Eden in a sort of spiral progressively getting closer or are the realms in a sort of jagged line to Eden?
That’s interesting… I wonder if anyone else has thought of that yet
Yeah I always wondered how a rough world map would look like. Especially if the Vault would ever be on it.
Apparently theres an official chinese sky lore map.....that people are picking apart for for reasons I already forgot. Something about what realms connect to where?
Honestly I think the prollem with any sky map is that it would become outdated within just a few seasons.
True
The locations themselves don't make sense tbh, Valley alone has jarring details that make mapping difficult.
Can you send it here? I wanna see... out of morbid curiosity
To me it seems like the realms are just awkwardly squeezed together since that's how easily we travel from one realm to another when we reach the end of the current realm
I think most of Sky is being obscured by clouds and we're only able to traverse through what's been uncovered. We don't have enough sheer birdpower to clear out the clouds and explore outside the fog layers.
@compact shale exactly when you go to orbit just after making eye of eden if take a look under you during the fly in space you can see the world of covered of cloud like the majority of the realms
Only time or sheer birdpower can clear the clouds, and we have neither.
Sheer Birdpower: The force that creates natural wind paths. Wind paths are created by the wingpower of migratory birds, as evidenced by the hole between the end of Forest and the start of Valley, along with some Flight wind path-opening cutscenes.
Yeah, speaking of that transition, the tunnel from Forest to Valley looks a lot like a natural wind tunnel (since there are no windvanes).
The transition from prairie to forest is also a bit wierd; unlike the other temples where you exit through doors, Prairie has you fly up through a crack on the ceiling. You can even see a remnant of light awaits where flying up instead of walking through the threshold lets you see two benches, a broken boat and a way ahead resembling the forest entrance that actually leads you to the social area, though from there you see the back of the prairie temple so that last bit may not be canon.
I find it strange the social area of forest - and ancestor graves - are closer to prairie than their own realm; perhaps they mostly lived in prairie but worked in forest.
The realm is pretty wierd and fascinating in its specificities; neither the entrance to it nor the exit seem like they were intentionally meant to be used as such, yet it's full of shortcuts to itself and other realms (with the treehouses, multiple ways you can take to reach the end and the wind paths).
I feel like this realm might have ironically been more remote, much like you don't really want to live near a factory unless you work there.
Also someone correct me if I'm wrong but in the Valley flying race, there's like a black kinda thing draped over the buildings. I think it's a dead krill? The rest of it is like supposedly covered by clouds.
But I may be wrong. I'll need to retake that again for screenshot purposes
Wait where? Flying race? Sorry lmao can’t read
Valley of Triumph
There was a triangle like head structure thing draped over a building which was sagged down
also, so sorry to but in, does anybody happen to have a chart of the concept art names for the elders, I forgot to screenshot it when they were mentioned before
This?

Was it close to he beginning of race? Because oob there is really easy
HMM I think so??
Either that or u flew past it in passing and if you were really looking you would see it and go hmm?
Like there's a part in that race where most of it is cloud and it forces you to go down if that makes sense
Omg thank you sm!
With all the floating buildings at the top? that spot is quite easy to oob I’ll see if I can go there tomorrow!
Yayy Ty. I have a few stuff to do before I get to sleep. Hopefully I can get on the game and double check! Will tag you if I can find it :")
Ok!! good plan! I’m not really sure what I’m looking for but I like walking around and exploring in sky anyways!
It kinda looks like this? I'm sorry for the horrid diagram. I'm on my phone rn HAHAh
I was w my partner I wanted to go back and look but yeah he linked up with me and it was getting late so I couldn't go back
No no don’t worry! I’ll try my best (-: I feel like most likely it could be another structure lost inbetween or one of those things where the clouds clip out and u can see a giant gap, but maybe not! Still exciting to go look
I found some cool sky backstory photo comparisons of golden wasteland/ valley and forest on douyin I kinda wanna post but ahhh idk if it’s already been discussed and it’s old news
Omg do it!!! I'm sure people here would appreciate it regardless
Also!! Just remembered a theory I read on Tumblr ages ago about the GW that actually could make sense. Probs someone mentioned this already but~
If the Elder spirit manta things had armour or something hence why they have horns it would make so much sense with said theory because; if you notice in the battle ground area there's a lot of spears as weapons.
This person pointed out that this would mean the people fighting were also fighting airborne enemies.... so if these spirit cosmic mantas or whatever you wanna call them were armoured it would make sense why there were krill just vibing at the wasteland since they got corrupted over time
I mean same still goes if they eventually grew horns and stuff.
The enemy who were fighting against the army with these manta things had to also use weapons against them. Or maybe both armies had these big boys
They were posted by maozhazha803 originally but some got recreated one Instagram
ok sorry I’m taking a while to respond I’m not good at reading ❤️ but I think I saw some concept art of dark creatures that would fit in because I was trying to find if there were any creatures that matched with the giant skeletons in gw
Omg these are awesome. I didn't realise that!! I kinda knew they looked familiar but I couldn't place my finger on why.
No worries!!! No need to rush :") thank you for taking the time to read my brain rot and headcannons xd
Also! I do remember someone mentioning them being some sort of turtle hybrid or whale something- though I might have remembered that wrong LOL
They look kinda cute but also kind a scary xd
The spider one no thanks xd
Some of my fav concept art tbh, the sludge dark creatures look so scary imagine a shape shifting sticky enemy, reminds me a lot of the waste water
The whale one looks really cool!!! Kinda reminds me of no face from Spirited Away xd
the spider one reminds me a little of the crabs, maybe there’s a giant crab out there haha, ooh spirited away!
@tidal valve hello beloved Jellyfish!
I also do love that Lynx-cat like one it looks like a baddie and I love it
I know! Also,,,, at the very top left there’s a creature climbing some kind of wall, the patterns remind me of the archives in vault
The tiny notes on the right kill me AHH wish I could read it
Omg yes!!
So found this on the wiki- apparently whales still exist??
Tbf I thought they were eels
That makes me wonder. What happened to that MASSIVE one then at the wasteland??
OMG TRUE zzz
Tuna king

I call it Tuna King since there’s a whale in Sanc and does not look like it so
yeah! I call them worms though, I guess they are whales? I feel like a whale would be more like the giant creature you can’t get to in scantuady islands, but I never joined sky online community until now so I’ve been calling everything the wrong names lol
Like those pics, I did see it in passing, makes me wonder is it a corrupted version? Or a non corrupted version. Does that mean there's a bigger baddie out there in the GW that actually EATS the krill and something we should actually fear more than those angy krill
I mean irl whales do eat krill
There actually is a worm dude in eden! You can see them smash through a wall during orbit lmao, sturdy worm, I’m pretty sure they are light creatures
OMG yes I completely forgot about it HAHAHAAHHA I literally went through Eden so many time yet I forget every time
(-,: lmao when I went through eden first time I was very scared of the worm,
I’ve tried flying around and exploring the buildings around orbit for lore stuff but I mean, I never really expected much bc no point decorating something you can barely even access without IMMENSE difficulty
Hey! What lore's shiftin rn?
I think some OOB are allright, I know there's one for Orbit.
I'm trying to complete the map of Valley but am stumped on the village placement; from the social area you don't see the end of the tunnel, but from the other side you see the social area. Starlight desert has the same problem too, and both have a fade to black transition.
Gonna put the village next to the coliseum/theater since we see it immediately nearby...
The races are difficult to map too; no idea how to transcribe that the flying race looks shorter than it is because we're mostly diving down a mountain ? I'm afraid altitude lines would make everything look clunky...
worm dude.
I have never thought the whale would be compared to a worm, lol.
Reminder that not everything is going to be loaded in when it should be.
Hi lore chat! Sorry to barge in but what's the angry spirit holding? Is it a power diamond?
And I never understood why the spirit is angry
probably because it's heavy?
Looked like a toy to me.
true, there is still that annoying glitch that causes part of the level to unload. I assume this trick was meant to be done behind the scenes and help with device's running the game with culling parts of the level the player would not see or be near, so does not have to load in, but this now happens even if you are right there and can see it happening
idk something that needs to be delivered? They're called Pouty PORTER for a reason
That's on the devs, I think I'm going to be more liberal with my mapping...
He was supposed to be holding a ball.
Most spirits with their props have this texture issue.
You can see this with the vault spirit with his chair.
You dont have to be exact.
Since the levels are rarely, if at all, loaded in together, there is a chance some levels would not line up properly when they are rendered in as a whole.
So, I think because of that messing up you mapping, you can use some artistic liberties.
Besides, I dont think there was ever a realistic mapped drawing of sky.
Honestly Pouty Porter puzzles me, they have a ball then suddenly they don't, and they teach us the stomp emote. Did it just pop or fall somewhere they can't reach ?
...wait, that reminds me a LOT of the days of summer beach ball.
Ok, I had to see an old video to be sure. (links can be given if asked)
The interesting yhing about this porter is in the beta, he used to be trying to lift a boat off the ground, but couldn't and was upset.
While this memory changed, his old animation for that memory stayed.
The current version of the pouty porter memory is him carrying a ball through a tunnel.
The ball was either heavy, or it got stuck, but he now tries to pick that up and gets upset because the ball is stuck.
Knowing what his old memory was, makes the current one look worse in comparison for lore and context.
Especially given the name, Porter, means someone that carries items, or transports them.
The current memory is unclear why he is carrying a ball, and why he is upset about it getting stuck in the ground.
His ball was in the game before the season of Sancturary, so the ball is likely not a beach ball. Or he had one and the skykid could not have access to it, untill later on.
Porter carrying a boat is so much better and funnier (because he's inside a tunnel) why do they change dumb stuff like that smh
I dont know why, but I do know is being able to see what the game used to look like is the best kind of lore I can get.
It feels like dumpster diving for answers since the game will not tell us, and some of these changes are hardly announced.
'we changed this spirit memory'
Why?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
On a serious and honest note, I am sure there was a reason, and the could be a lot in Sky that can be polished and improved upon. But since these don't have as a high priority as a new season, bug fixing, seasonal events and so on. Those little details get overlooked, as far as I can tell, unfortunately.
I think they should slow down on seasons, maybe reinstall ones where they don't have to make an entire new map, so that they get more time to fix and refine stuff; a lot of stuff is coded and in the game but unused for some reason like that invisible boat you showed me.
Your dumpster diving illustration p much describes what we do tbh
Since I got my hands on the beta videos, I am very grateful for the people that posted them.
Otherwise there would not be any other way to see the history of the game.
Just to add to the comparing spirit memories statement.
Overall, some memories did get nice improvements, like the crying light miner did not have the cave in fragments to explain why she was crying in a cave.
It is mostly a series of hits and misses.
I do full heartedly agree with your suggestion that the devs can consider breaking away from new seasons, and have a look at what they already added to the game and see what they can go back to. Almost like a revision of the past and the present.
The invisible boat under the left island in Prairie, for example, would be a much welcomed change!
It does not have to be running all the time, and that could also help the giant mantas be forced to fly a bit higher in the village.
They got a whole lot of space above the village, and seeing them flounder about in the clouds make them more of an obstacle than an opportunity to ride them to the temple. Especially given how they yeet skykids in the air sometimes, and would make it more interactable in the game to flying around them in the air, instead of over them since they fly so low.
Does anyone remember when Voluntary was trying to figure out why the windpath of Starlight is a thing?
Well, I meant to refer to not everything being in an area that you should be able to see. Like in the pot area of starlight desert, none of the landmarks are there.
I meant more like, some things like how in the pot area of starlight desert, none of the other landmarks are there (if you look out the cracks, your not normally angled to see the landmarks even if they were there, but u can chibi fall to see the area without landmarks.
As in while the game loads up the inside of the pot, you glitch out to see what the game would not load in.
That is what is supposed to happen when culling parts of a level you are not supposed to see.
I wonder though if the levels would actually fit together if one were to render the whole realm.
oh, i was thinking you meant unloading assets while not in view so when you turn around fast enough you can see some before they load in for a second
That would still be understandable.
I know at times in sanctuary island, the cave from the waterfall to the ladder section with the winged light would sometimes unload while I am about to head inside, it seems like it is still solid, just invisible.
Same thing happens while on your way in the cave or out of the cave, the braziers would unload in plain view.
:: I wonder though if the levels would actually fit together if one were to render the whole realm.
(^How do i do the thing where it looks like im including a section of the message?)
well, imean either it would work correctly or things would overlap lol. of course the entrances to each area would have to be tweaked a bit (like extended) but you could say that the loading skips part of a walk through a cave.

Random headcannon that barely has any info to back this up: I noticed the elder names have meanings, like valley twins can mean: “to support”
and Alef being: “learn” (if I’m correct.) many of the names have multiple meanings, you get the point
Anyways I head cannon fallen-stars are embedded with a phrase/word that shapes who they are, feel like Megan did it to give them a purpose in their creation. And sky kids phrase would be “Return the Spirits to the stars” ect.
Just a cool concept I thought of, could be completely ignoring other lore stuff I’m not aware of (plus all the info about about the elder names is stuff I got from here so I could be completely off with the meanings
)
That is a lovely idea.
I believe in Journey, TGC something like that with the idea. With the icons that your player character takes, as well as that you see throughout the game (scarf, gravestones, temples, in the fluid like energy of the tower, on all of the cloth creatures, and even in the snow in Apotheosis), these would have been called Logos.
Logos means word from God.
While the logos in Journey seemed to be used as a symbol in the game for the history and the identity of the ancients, in Sky, a logo might have a different use and meaning.
Even though there is little to no writing in Sky, there are symbols. These symbols are simpler than than that in Journey, but may hold just as complex meaning.
The idea of an elder in Sky, could be as you said in your head canon, have a meaning that depends on the context.
Thank you for sharing your head canon, it may have some relation to the lore in general. And better yet, give other folks ideas and share their own headcanons. 🙂
that’s really cute i like that, I’m pretty sure it is part of tgc’s plan to make every skykid a little different, such as height ratio for everybody is not always the same but actually randomly generated (not that it’s very visible though) so the idea that megabird would try to give each skykid their own phrase or purpose during creation would totally fit into tgc’s ideas of making each skykid unique (-:
maybe that’s what Megan is singing to us in the beginning of the game (I think I read somewhere there was a theory that the singing is the game came from megabird?)
@tidal valve hello beloved Shadow!
Just thought of this at the top of my head, just a small idea that winged light are skykid memory fragments
it’s just like how at the beginning of the game when you start after you get created by the megabird (was that how the lore went?) the only thing you have or remember is the child call, the icon of the call is in very similar appearance to the winged light we see around sky
so kinda like how, a piece of you will always remain even after rebirth/ being born? or like an identity marker so that you are drawn or know that you need to collect them intuitively so that you can grow stronger to fulfill your purpose?
typing this out doesn’t make it sound as smart as how it did in my brain whoops, just a small idea nothing concrete of course (-:
In terms of lore, could krillkids technically be possible 🤔
corrupted skykids?
It is possible given there is concept art for it.
I'm waiting too and nothing
ok, here is the concept art.
My theory is that winged light is a fragment of light/power.
It is used to make skykids more resilient (make them tougher) and fly higher.
I like to think that if skykids are hybrids of ancestors and light creatures, they would be able to know where to migrate towards (the call), and have a soul (that allows them to be reborn). This soul can be seen when you die in eden. A blue sprite usually represent a soul for the ancestors, so a skykid having a blue sprite after their bodies perish is their soul staying behind long enough to be with their friends.
Now, we do see the ancestors spirits with a ball of darkness in them. I think that is what prevents them from passing on, because the darkness has corrupted their souls, though not enough to do more damage to them. At least that is what I can tell.
If a skykid has a soul, then a soul can be corrupted, which may be what this concept art is showing.
Alternatively, the corrupted skykid concept art may have been reworked into the game as the statues in eden. The ones with the blue shards sticking out of them.

Wasn’t there a curse on the king’s crown
possibly....
If I recall correctly, it was either mention in the old lore timeline, or in the chinese translation of the old lore.
Old timeline, definitely. I don’t recall if it happened on its own or if the elders did it though.
found it.
5th panel from the right, the one with the dark king walking and holding his weapon
Kinda ironic eden crown was primarily worn by ha- uhhh certain folks who could find it then.
I kinda feel bad for the Prince. If you slowly piece things together from this timeline and the realms, including Prince's exact location in Eden, youll realize they were actually trying to fix things
I may be dead wrong about this, I think the crown would have been the ultimate reward for completing all of the constellations (as in unlock all elder hairs).
So, it may have been the ultimate of ultimate rewards, which was the sky prince's crown.
But, like Kamilico said, some malicious players got the item dishonestly. And because of that at the time, it was recognised for the wring reasons. A sign of a dishonourable player.
Which is a real shame.
Again, I may be completely wrong about this because this was in beta (before my time) and not well know information.
I think it was already removed when those players found it. Idk the real reason why they were removed
I agree. It was prolly a 100% reward. And I love it. I wish it was kept. But that goes for half of the beta content too.
I like to imagine at the very end he realized he messed up, and nothing could be done, and there is nowhere to go but P.O.N.R
found the video, it was the Eden Crown

Perhaps, but the timing of events like them getting cursed by the dark stones and their exact location implies they did try to fix things, but it went wrong.
Have you ever wondered why the Prince happened to be in the upper most peak of Eden, in the EXACT point of ascension to Megabird? They got cursed by the dark stones, but why did the Prince happen to be there of all places?
Hey wait, they didn't find dark stone in the forest, they found it in forestS
Also elder creatures and their armies ? Do you think there were ancestors that could communicate with them ? After all, we do have the creature whisperers...
I just figured each get a realm, and Prince got the highest point because he won the trials and became ruler.
This is the concept timeline tho, not the current one
Do we have any reason to assume that isn't still the story of Sky?
In the old lore, that would be a possibility.
I haven't found anyone able to communicate with the elder creatures though, given how rare they are and how difficult it is to get close to them.
Bah. Having a war with talking light creatures. Would be like every generic fantasy novel ever.
In concept timeline Im sure he still ruled the holy, highest point because it was the holy highest point.
You don't have to understand what the creatures say or even comprehend them to get that they are in danger and if they fall, they take civilization with them.
Also, there's something else that the realms symbolize, that you'll realize when looking in the concept timelines. The progression of the kingdom and the age of the Prince actually goes in line with the realms. We know the realms represent progress civilisation and age of life, but it actually represented a specific one. The realms represents the progress in Sky's timeline.
But in that concept timeline, there's one missing. Which was Vault, representing old age, and actually represents what happened after the kingdom's fall, and leaving behind knowledge for the next generations. But also note, it goes UP to Eden.
This stage of the Prince's life wasnt actually described at all in the timeline. But if we were to go by what we do in that realm, going up to Eden, reflecting on what happened in the Kingdom, you'll realize this part of the timeline was AFTER the Ark's fall and everyone's dead. Which explains why it wasnt in the timeline, and its a part of the timeline where the Prince went UP to the Eden mountain and reflecting what had happened in their life
Vault in the old lore used to represent a post apocalyptic setting, so this was the last chapter of the kingdom.
And by my understanding the last part of the game, along with eden and orbit, that was under development, until the global release came up and changed the lore.
why did the global release change the lore?
I think thats still the case
Because phones. The lore is so great and awesome, our phones wouldnt be able to handle it at all. In other words, technical issues
Ohhhhhhhh
Sky could've ended because of exploding phones. got it.
Also, HAS ANYONE ASKED THE MODS TO DELETE THE SLOWMODE??????
ITS STILL HERE
Not sure.
By the time of the global release, the plot of sky changed.
This might have been caused by how android devices worked differently form iphone, which lead to the standard capes to lose their patterns, otherwise some devices would not be able to render them.
Or, it could have been for other reasons since the beta ended and there would be many more players joining the game.
Perhaps the veterans from beta would know more about it, if not the staff.
I’m sure at some point
Wait wait wait
The old cape design had lore?
ITS BEEN MORE THAN 3 MONTHS

Admit it it, the mods have forgotten this place
Oh my Megabird... really?
Honestly just looking through the beta prairie images, its how I imagine prairie should look in some ways. Theres a lot I like better about pre-release as well as a hellton more I hate way more than current. But man. Theres just so much to say “why did they change that?” To. I really do hope all of it was due to limitations and not someone liking a different idea better.
Its been here for ages. I remember putting this slowmode up out of the hype lore chat had for something I can't remember now.
At this point, Im gonna end up pinging someone out of spite of this unnecessary slowmode
When you start the game for the first time, your cape used to be as blank as they currently are.
In the beta, the more times you complete your journey through eden, there would be details added to the cape.
This is similar to Journey capes, as this helped indicate players that are new to the game, vs players that have experience in the game, because their capes would be full of patterns.
I’d recommend asking in #contact-the-mods about the slowmode if you’d like it changed or want to know why.
Last I remember the slowmode was because people spamming random, repeating, non-lore. I agreed it was annoying. If it was because it was hyping up, for actual lore, well thats just misjudged. Lore needs hype.
yeah, I heard it wasn't good for phones, so they removed it.
Do you think we still need a way to distinguish new players from experienced players?
surely the mod gods have not forsaken us lore skykids...
A 1 min long slowmode on an already somewhat dead chat definitely helps. Also, I think this slowmode may have scared off some skykids from here
Apparently they said something along the lines of those old capes taking up the same power as if you where carrying the entirety of prairie rock upon your back. Due to using actual changing textures. Dunno how normy current capes work but they prolly find ways to cheat with textures.
I think the cosmetics give you a good idea.
If you know what to look for, usually the ultimate rewards of older seasons (owl hair, deer mask, etc) are good giveaways.
Otherwise, it is not always obvious to tell a true veteran from a new player.
Aside from their behaviour, manners, cosmetics and experience of the game.
Ohhhh... but do you think we still need an indicator that's as obvious as the Journey one?
Bro people already complain about there being a “cosmetic hierarchy”. The upgraded stars do a nice job. New folks prolly aint gonna be rockin 10 or 11 flaps.
But it's easy to knock some wings off and look more incompetent than you actually are?
True. Shall we forever ban the existence of fake moths?
Not always, you dont need a vet to open a door, or help you with spirits.
As far as the game is concerned, a good player is one that helps friends and strangers, grinds every day, pays money for season passes, and needs to be given a tutorial all the time, even if they have been playing for a year.
Please do not take what I just said seriously.
It would be nice to have other ways to identify vets, but the cosmetics and behaviour are the best things to look at.
Some people can be natural at acting like moths due to wacky phones causing them to bumb into things all the time
Like how I was
Ye I hate sky on mobile I’m a switch player now only issue is typing to others
due to server deleting my comment, I refuse to retype it.
I saw your message.
You can look at #looking-for-group-live if you like.
Alternatively, you can see who you run into in sky.
Know you are welcome on the lore discussion channel
Theres lil problems with switch control (trick button, shared space camera) but it feels so good compared to phone. I used to struggle not touching the ground when coming from prairie hub to prairie rock. Now its ez to just keep flying and never even get blown near the ground.
Curious, how do you spin in the air?
Do you flick the analogue stick?
For Switch, hold R while in glide mode and moving in any direction
Skykid names are 4-8 letters that are a consonant/vowel or vowel/consonant pattern!
I headcanon since that skykids take after ancestors a lot, that they picked up their naming conventions too :]
The game assigns a random name.
This name is not related to the skykid you meet, so it is just a name for the sake of the game mechanic of tracking friends, otherwise the game wont know what to put in your friend constellation.
This may suggest that skykids give their own names to their friends, while the friend has the option to give their preferred names.
Sometimes I wish there was a way I could see what people have named me before, because I only ever use randomized names myself
That would be very interesting.
I wont judge them if anyone gave a random name or something silly.
Would save the trouble of tracking down every player and asking them names, which they might not want to give for whatever reason.
I’ve only ever told people what to name me two times, usually because I don’t typically like opening up the chat function so I don’t have it unlocked for a vast majority of my friends. I like to think I’ve been given some either silly chosen names or funny randomized ones
Imagine there is a secret area in the game where your skykid would find forbidden knowledge.
The catch is, they have to trade in winged light to earn it.
For example, you would trade 5 winged light to see what other players named you for a short amount of time, so your friend constellation would show you names of what others called you. You can tap on the names to see who it was.
Or drop winged light in a well to ask questions. But be careful of what you ask, as the well might turn dark and a dangerous creature appears instead.
Why does Forest get all the shortcut tunnels? /hj
It is the season area that has the wind tunnels, forest shares two, which is the entrance at the start of the realm, and the underground caves.
Whoops I mean I was just wondering why we have 2 seasons with shortcut tunnels that are both in Forest, as a joke, not serious.
My bad.
What if seasons that take place in the same realm have a similar function or something
I think we should wait a bit longer then come back to this. We've only had 2 seasons in the same realm so far.
Yea
Also for some reason, all the seasonal areas are located on the right, except the Starlight Desert
Starlight Desert is indeed an odd one out. After all, it doesn't even fully exist.
Mhm
I'm guessing it was just part of the bird migration path and nothing else. After all, like I said, windpaths are most likely created with sheer birdpower.
Sorry for the sudden wall of text, just wanted to clarify something that was touched on here earlier
The slowmode was permanently increased here because of a few reasons, but mainly to ensure the channel remains on-topic and discussions stay thoughtful. People that spend a lot of time here might remember it would increase and decrease at first until we found a balance, based on channel activity and member feedback.
I understand the urge to shout about your favorite piece of lore, and discussing theories can be a lot of fun, but given the size of the server and some history here we want the channel to remain slow-paced— this gives everyone a chance to read the chat and think about what they are typing before hitting send. More personal discussions or other activities that can't take place here at the moment are still encouraged to occur elsewhere, like group DMs or fan-servers (while we don't allow them to be advertised within the server)
To echo what Harbin said, please feel free to send feedback on our #contact-the-mods channel whether you agree with what I said or not. Contacting us does not mean it will be changed, but moderators and staff do read and consider all messages, and the server is always growing and changing with the community's needs. I also read all of this channel nearly every single day myself, for moderation and personal purposes, so it's definitely not forgotten. We just have to think what's best for the whole server and take everyone's views into consideration
Oh
Lore chat is the rebellious child of sky server, for seeking out the forbidden.
What forbidden? There's forbidden lore?
Elder concept art names at one point. That sure was a ride. And apparently a lot of livestreams where not saved. But also anything from the-
I understand I also used to have that same problem when I was a lore moff we were discussing lore about the eden explosion and I typed a text wall so it was long after I pressed send ,everyone was already on a new topic ,so I guess the slow mode is good
Why are livestreams forbidden?
Not forbidden. Just lost.
The Proud Victor's spirit memories prove that ancestors are just as subject to broken ice physics as skykids are (infinite sliding yeeyee)
That is a good observation.
Thanks Mirian.
This channel, and the server, sure does have a lot of history.
Noticed it a while ago ...
I wonder... Could it be there was once any similar concept which didn't make into the game?
Hey lore chat! Does anyone know what this is? (Found at the forgotten ark)
That's a trebuchet -- there's a functioning one in Wasteland's graveyard too, but you need two players to use it (one to sit down on the actual launch pad, and the other to actually spring the launch mechanism)
What were they trying to launch? Boulders? Soldiers? Hot flaming oil?
Ok I didn't consider the ark could have been for war. And if they were carrying this......
Well, good thing skykids don't suffer fall damage
No, but the one in the graveyard may lead to a krill hit if you are unlucky.
☄️

Question! Is there any lore or theories surrounding the home statues in Forest(the third area, right before the temple) and Wasteland's Battlefield? They are somewhat shaped like mantas....?
Photos pls
This is the one in battlefield, and there is one in forest too, give me a sec and ill send a photo
Some different perspectives to see the shape of it better—
Birb
Prolly meant to represent megabirb which is Sky’s deity in concept arts
Added a new King to king comp.
Those are the old home shrines during the beta.
These resemble birds, so would likely represent megabird.
There is one more of these, though it does not work like a home shrine. Instead, it is a tiny candle holder next to the catapult in the graveyard part of the golden wasteland.
Hi folks, what's up?
shhh
I've always found it interesting how the king is immortalized throughout the world of Sky, it makes me question if maybe he was seen as some sort of god, or a Devine being of sorts
Who is the king
I never got to see who the king is it was idek when I have ever even met such a king
The King was featured in Concept art but never made it to the game
Thinking abt how Alef probably had a coronation when they were crowned king (If you agree with Alef and Resh being one in the same) and how extra it probably was since if I remember correctly: they were crowned in valley
So lots of presentation because the twins saw it as a competition on who can make the whole ceremony look cooler.just think it would be a cool fanon event
Like think of the beta twin cutscene if you want a general idea of what it was probably like
Can anyone explain this big anchor that I have only just noticed. Like does it have lore
I think your bud star ghost! ghost gave a good answer
It's a bird statue from Light Awaits. Don't have any theories on it tho, other than what they already said.
It’s probably based after megabird, as the people of sky (according to concepts) used to worship it.
Travelling merchants irl used to carry weaponry to protect themselves, it's probably something like that. They did end up crashing right? Maybe they got brought down by bandits :o
The Ark was brought down by a lightning strike. One of its murals proves it.
Does the 8-player door in Praire count?
Prolly carried weapons to trade (battlefield wasteland)
Are the spells canon by skylore actually? Because some of them might have been really handy, even till now for the skykids
Why exactly would they paint/etch (what even is those murals) their own doom onto the ship? Like you don’t see people putting pictures of sinking boats on the side of their yachts
idk, cause they just did it out of boredom ig
Art makes events come true
Because they survived and don't want to forget it for whatever reason?
Ohh so they painted it AFTER they crashed and not BEFORE? I got confused you see I thought that when you got the different lights in enchantment you were restoring but you’re actually adding magic that wasn’t there before I have a whole new perspective now thanks
I mean, why would they paint the accident before the accident
That’s my question!
Ye, lightseekers (give spells if I remembered)
The Forbidden Cheeseballs
I always adored those three lightcheese balls
Yes, I think team Enchantment survived but died of starvation (they had a farm that couldn't last)
Nah I got that I was just confused with what exactly skykids had to do with it. Basically, whether or not they were restoring it to what it looked like before or renovating it, so to speak
Oof that's dark
Omg right! Thanks for explaining xd
Aaah ok thanks. I have a hard yime interpreting most of the murals
I don't think any of the spirits died in peace at this point
Renovation maybe? And restoring the colored lights? Yeah.
even dreams girl
She eventually broke her legs after skating too much jk
Yeti is the true hero of Dreams. If they didn't catch Dream Skater, their dream would've ended before it started and the season wouldn't happen
What if they all died and the quests we’re doing are like, fulfilling their wishes
I honestly thought this
Maybe all the spirits had a final wish before their deaths.
Enchantment: To unlock the full potential of the colored lights
Prophecy: To find the chosen one who shall pass all 4 trials
Dreams: To skate with a partner (I think that Dream Skater performed before they died, but they were always solo performances and they wanted a friend to perform with but died before they could)
Assembly: To finish repairing the treehouse (the stars fell before they could finish repairing it)
Flight: To keep the Wind Paths running (all the quests so far seem like maintenance you'd have to do every now and then even if the Wind Paths were functioning)
Well, Proph wouldn’t make sense since there’s a King
I agree with this excluding proph!!!
I would go with ‘Skater girl died before they got to peform’ because angst
Doesn't the end of the shared performance thank you for reliving how the dream came true or something though?
Yeah, maybe not proph... unless... they realized that the King was bad and wished for a new one AHAHAHA
King Propaganda is watching you.
throwback 2 the prairie skull
I think that being able to perform was only part of the dream. I think the other half might've been having a friend to perform with. By performing with them, you help them fulfill the second half of the dream.
Well the season quests always say "Fulfill the request of this Ancestor Spirit" or was it "wish" instead of request?
So i guess it holds merit that we're making their dream/wish come true
I find Assembly one's sad; Just some kids trying to have fun and build a happy treehouse but died before they got to finish.
I think the Prophecy's wish is to have more people survive the trials?
I glimpsed the future, and with this potion you will fulfill your wish to.... become a crab!
Wait... at the start of Assembly the guide finds a ruined treehouse, they aren't building it from scratch
My headcanon is that before the season Marching Adventurer accidentally set the old treehouse on fire
that's just a headcanon tho, not a theory
Oooh, I haven't replayed their memories for a while
Marching, you little arsonist
My personal interpretation was always that the group split up to find the perfect treehouse location [hence the scattered treehouses] and ended up going out in the rain before they could all compare results and pick the best one.
You're not just assembling a treehouse, you're reassembling the friend group
wdym going out in the rain? They died of the alleged rain disease that their parents always tell them about?
Oh sorry, their light went out, I could have phrased that better.
Splashing around in the streams probably didn't help.
Do... you think the Assembly kids are skykids?
Ancestors and skykids are usually thought to be different species, and ancestors aren't usually thought to have lightcores like we do
I had read that on reddit, but even if they can't get ill, lose lights, etc, they could obviously pass in non darkness related ways, judging by some of the spirits we see.
It just seemed dark to say, "a buncha kids died in the woods after getting split up" on a sky server lol
Nah, we go pretty dark in lorechat, as long as we don't provide pictures of the squicky parts or talk about nsfw it's fine
Ayeaye
Ah yes Children of the Dark
Spirits/Ancestors do have lightcores! Its easier to see in art, so them losing their light/getting drained of light is a possibility/attributed to their death
ive drawn too many spirits i know theyve got orb
The high-res skid from the trailer
So beautiful
Also is that looking like Juggler's mask faded out or something older?
Whoah! Those spirits look so uncanny now... eeargh...
I don't think the dark water=alcohol theory is canon (collab-only) because if ancestors have lightcores then they can die in all the ways skykids can and if they ingested dark water they would die much faster than an actual alcoholic
I feel like taking a little dark water would be way stronger than alcohol, if we ever saw it outside of desert.
Yeah, I think they mentioned drinking it in SoTLP because TGC couldn't think of a better allegory. Light Bloom Mushroom Extract wasn't gonna cut it.
If you think about it, dark water, in terms of irl, is most likely water that's been infested with trash and bacteria and dirt all over. So drinking that would be def fatal and even more so than alcohol
Personal theory forest tried to use the water element to power the dark power diamonds. Polluted rain was the result.
Just randomly thinking of wasteland skykids living off from alcohol
I imagine masks have similar designs and markings! (theres a lot of masks with two triangles) so while rhythm masks may have the triangles painted or something, this one could just have them engraved, or it could be older too!
And I imagine dark water not to be alcohol exactly, but rather a substitute for it
sorry i take ages to type its the nervousness i need to get a good grade in lore /lh
cheerios 🍻
I'm a switch player, trust me that wasn't slow typing.
mother, i quench for the w i n e
“The only reason we survived in this wasteland so long is because the water is booze”
Hello, I would like to present the "Would you like to go through hell" challenge for Lorechat!
Use this to analyze Sky! :D
https://schools.mabankisd.net/page/open/12658/0/SIFT Method of Literary Analysis.pdf
I see paragraphs, I quit
"BACK IN MY DAYS THIS PLACE HAD OCEANS OF PURE WATER! WE HAD TO GO THROUGH MANY STEPS JUST TO MAKE A BOTTLE OF BOOZE."
idk anymore my brain died

This is gonna take a while to read-
LOL I used to do literary analysis at school I loved it that's probs why my over analysing brain lives for the lore
analysis of themes and such is always fun if ur in the mood and is like. lore chat, ive talked abt sky and its use of colours way too much AHDHHFG
But it's now formatted. So now it's a hell challenge.
i just realized i came here to talk about something else but i forgot
OMg true. Currently hoping I can do some analysis on the music/musical motifs used throughout the different releases
Hoping to do that during summer holidays tho coz I have too much stuff irl
OOOO MUSICS FUN, good luck with that!!
Okay guys, off-topic
NOW GO SKY TOPIC BEFORE THE MODS
AAAAAAA
I'll try :")
Idk if they have a scores of the bg music online, but I definitely noticed some themes. I wonder if they represent the King or something
okay i remembered why i came here
im sometimes a detail freak when it comes to making small stuff for some AUs and im having a bit of trouble with worldbuilding-
but first i just wanna make some food and herbs for possible Sky AUs, dunno. YET I DON'T HAVE ANY CONCEPTS FOR ITS DESIGNS DUE TO MY PROCRASTINATION.
UPDATE: JUST REALIZED U SAID SCORES I MAY BE STUPID
tho that reminds me i was listening to the story thus far and it reminded me of another sky song i jsut cant remember which one, but granted its the scene with all the elders i think its. possible/important, so i should probably figure that out
also i think the song names are really interesting too
YOOOO thats so cool
hi hi
Welcome to Lorechat!
The person who shared the video says they're an oldtimer and the location there was accesible in an older version of Eden [I had heard many maps were way different in the oast, but I haven't seen many videos yet, so that was really cool] I would say that puts it on par with the development stuff we never see in game, maybe relevant, maybe discarded.
Welcome!
@lunar folio ooohhh oki that's fair enough. Definitely going to do more digging it's v interesting stuff
Hm, has anyone tried comparing the elders with the Ars Goetia? (aka, the 72 demons)
Why those?
I don't know, it seems convenient.
I mean, there are kinda signs of Christianity in the game and in the lore, who knows? Maybe we'd find something.
what if one of the elders is based on the demonic paimon /j
Hm, I just checked the description and I don't think either of the Elders fit.
But, I did check President Morax and seems to resemble closely to the vault elder, he teaches astronomy and all other liberal sciences etc.
Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(also the demonic paimon thing was a joke)
what else?
I'm checking.. But I might also have one for Duke Barbatos.
Barbatos is a Duke in Hell, he has four trumpets which can summon four kings, leads men by the hidden treasures hidden by the enchantments of magicians and tell the future.
(though unlikely) he may be closely resembled to the Prairie Elder-
idunno... Prairie never seeemed like a commander to me...
True, he seemed to be more of a pacifist and a creator.
Ye, tho their concept names are from Hebrew letters which has meanings
Like, Daleth means door, Alef/Resh means leader or smthn
Good day, Door Elder
Oh? I actually may have found something that might be closely related to the Forest Elder.
The Demon Furfur, an earl / count of hell, is capable of creating violent storms and teach divine secrets. Though it does miss the architectual skill of the Forest Elder.
Oh yeah
The concept elder names aren't canon anymore but they sure do help us determine what their personalities are
Yep
H, brain ded-
F
Support eachother prolly
Prolly after or during the fall they became unbalanced and compete :(
So "Samekh" means to support
Support what?
edit: Daww
y they fight tho?
OH! I FOUND SOMETHING THAT POSSIBLY MATCHES A SPIRIT IN THE SEASON OF RHYTHM-
Decarabia, a great Marquis of Hell values all the properties of herbs and precious stones. And he can transform into a bird to sing and fly for his conjurer, sometimes acting as his animal familiar.
So the Valley elders we see in the cutscene
That isn't their true selves?
waht, no
I mean during (or after) the fall they prolly became unbalanced (due to corruption? No idea)
Ye ig, since the elders prolly got trapped in limbo when diamond explode
So are the Valley elders in the cutscene the post-fall Elders?
So is the fanart of them having sibling rivalry a flanderization or somethign?
That may be the case, though it does kind of remind me The War against heaven-
Something like Lucifer rebelling against God itself and descending with rebellious angels. Though, it does remind me of the Seven Archons in Genshin Impact.
Just a theory: It's possible that, before the elders descended into the world they were in heaven. Then, something happened which caused seven of them descending into hell. They managed to thrive, but the stars eventually vanished. It's possible that the stars vanishing could be symbolic like the angels descending into hell-
Seven deadly sins theory
So like each elder had a sin that caused them to descend to the Sky world?
Maybe.
Though what would Isle's sin be?
It could be..
Isle: Sloth
Prairie: Gluttony
Forest: Envy
Valley: Pride
Vault's: ??
What's the sins of the other elders?
Maybe the reason we return back to the world of sky is because we are still impure, It's possible that we are the sins, the scum that needs to be demolished in order to be truly pure to return to "Heaven."
ELDERS AND THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS UNNAMED EDEN ELDER AND THE SIN OF PRIDE (Likely candidates- the Prince, the King) Really it’s easy to see why this one is Pride- and arguably a combination of all sins if you choose to see it that way, seeing as Pride itself is the Original Sin. You could see this...
WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT-
BECAUSE I AM ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED ON IT
evil laughter intensifies
Nice!
But going back to my point-
The flame we receive from the Elders is their way of forgiveness, maybe they want to return to Heaven but they are binded into the world because of theirs sins.
I think Forest Elder might've USED to be lust
Remember what it said in their concept art? They were originally gonna trap and (might get deleted) your skykid
Which is why the realms are on loop, because of their sins we are forced to live in an eternal loop. To die forever, to lose forever, to suffer forever.
No matter how many times we are reborn, we are the descendants of those who sinned and there is no other way we could free ourselves from the same chains that bind the elders.
@icy spruce that be scary though
and kinda sus for her...
YEAH PROLLY SINCE CONCEPT ELDER UH YE
Lmao, that doc is old
Ah yes, the pains of samsara. Should probably add the sinful elders to my "skykids are tools" theory
Hm, you know how we receive the flames from the elders?
What if we reject it?..
i mean, u can reject it by not doing the elder cutscenes
So that means nothing happens lmao
/j
Then you're evil IG. all this stuff makes me wanna update my "skykids are tools/means to an end theory" because i didnt include a lot of stuff
That just made me feel bad-
And god, my mind is processing alot of stuff.
What if the Vault of Knowledge contained false knowledge?
Damn
I mean, the infrastructure of Vault is an illusion because the true Vault got destroyed, but why would the knowledge also be fabricated?
Because there was no knowledge in the first place
idk where i was going with this- I just said it because i felt like it
But it is also possible, the "knowledge" in the vault of knowledge could be false. Or it doesn't include their descension into hell because if the scholars found out, the seven elders reputation would be tainted. (even though it is in the eyes of heaven, they thrived in "hell")
So, if we can communicate through elders with the white candles / offerings, then we can ask them about their descension

Interesting, this would be a cool story
and so many fandoms
Huh, interesting...
It would certainly make for an interesting AU!
Now to update my theory which may or may not become my lore life's work
H
But I get why they chose to defy their god, they were restricted of their Freedom. Freedom of speech, actions etc. (you get the idea.)
Then this forms another question, why are only a few spirits present in the realm of sky? It's possible they too received the "hellfire" / "blessing" of the elders because they were acknowledged by them at the cost for rewinding a memory. But only ascending through orbit but then also descending with the sky kid.
Skykids as a means to an end: A theory by Fruity
Skykids are golems created by Megabird and are bound to the purpose given to them, which is "Bring our spirits back to the stars"
Skykids are born without emotions and are only made for one purpose: To ascend the ancestors and elders who cannot ascend due to the corruption blocking Megabird's light beam to them.
We have free will, but that's only because while Megabird can see everything, they can't control everything.
Lighting up spirits and following them was part of our job. But an unintended consequence of that was that as we relived more and more spirits, we learned emotions. In Megabird's eyes, this is tainting us now.
I think the reason why we get reborn over and over again is because we haven't brought them all up.
We keep getting distracted by each other, the world, the spirit's charms, etc. so we never get to finish our mission
So what happens if we do complete our mission?
We turn back to stars... and the kingdom is abandoned. It cannot be fully purified. Megabird has abandoned it.
Until we bring the spirits back to the stars, we have not fulfilled our purpose yet, so we stay in this world. We need to obey Megabird and stop being distracted.
We will never be able to coexist with the spirits, even if we want to. Even if some spirits are finally making an effort to interact with us.
Megabird only wishes for everyone's ascension so that they can atone. Nothing else.
But there is an alternative...
If we wait long enough, Megabird will keep using their stars to create skykids. After enough time, they will use their last star to create a skykid, their influence over us will disappear, their power will be distributed between all of us, and we will be unbound, with our purpose left to ourselves.
I can't say if Megabird truly trusts us or if they had no choice, but if enough skykids unite for the same cause, they can literally have godly power...
long paragraph moment
Mmmm, lore wall
Interesting
Hm, you know how in the concepts it mentions that the megabird comes along in the world of sky to pick up the sky kid-
Well, in theory. I don't think the Megabird isn't truly making them ascend but more so, deliver to be inspected upon the eyes of the angels and god themselves. So Megabird returns the sky kid to the world until they can achieve the Heavenly Principles they expect to truly become an angel.
At a cost for sacrificing emotions and freedom. For a world of purity is to be pure itself, nothing that distracts you from what God desires.
Though, I did have a previous theory of the elders being Seven Stars.
We weren't built like other creatures created by Megabird. We were supposed to be pure, free of those things. However, learning emotions from the Ancestors tainted us. We've fallen into the trap as well...
Damn, to sacrifice empathy for nothing-
My previous theory:
`The Seven Realms are a sector / system and we drift off to that place, and also a stage of our star life.
Isle - Our Beginning, we start as a smol start and venture out.
Daylight - We consume smaller stars and grow
Forest - We begin to cool down
Valley - We eventually heat up again.
Wasteland - This is our dangerous trial, there are stars bigger than us which is the krill and crabs. Crabs is also a danger we face, let’s say they are mini black holes or small stars.
Vault - We become a neutron star
Eden - We finally die, giving birth to sky kids / new stars and also become them as fragments and it repeats.`
(p.s, this is really old before I observed christian lore)
In my theory, Megabird just wants to evacuate everyone then abandon the kingdom. They believe it is a lost cause. In this theory, we're their servants who unknowingly have been disobeying.
Hm, what if the Megabird also defied God?
I mean, it is trying to escort demons out of hell.
What if Megabirb is the god of sky
Are there any bigger gods?
I think Megabird's trying to get them ascended... so that they can atone them (which may or may not mean torture for the poor ancestors)
I'm not sure about that. But I'm just assuming that there is a force beyond the bird itself.
And-
I think the Megabird is hell itself and the God is slowly killing it to eliminate the scum completely
Ah- Why would megabird be hell?
Tbh, I see megabirb as the galaxy Sky is in (but yknow how old civilizations worship galaxies? Ye)
@icy spruce Only YOU can scare moths in the Fire Trial with Team Shadow

You know how during the credits we see thousands of lifeless planets, then at the end we see a bird like figure.
I mean, I think I had the picture and when I saw it the head was already gone
So uh, that's sorta my explanation of why the Megabird is hell itself- (I'll ad more detail)
The life lesson is
Obey your god or else you suffer forever
AREN’T I A JELLYFISH WHAT???
God, Christianity is biased-
actually, now the more I think about it, It looks more like a biblically accurate angel-
Nice
But at the like end end, it's a candle-
imagine that thing saying "Be not afraid"
i just imagined the millions of sky kids saying that across the megabird itself in a menacing choir-like voice-
be not afraid
when i die and can go back in time to meet other people-
i want to ask the authors of the bible on why the hell they made the angels look like a rupaul drag race wedding ring
i mean- look at it.
do you think a child is gonna be like: I pRAise tHEE-
How would you feel if you realized that you were never meant to have emotions?
Anyone have a good
joke?
i'd rather have emotions than have none-
and i wonder why they made that concept in Christianity-
GET RESH’D
what concept
Can’t stop thinking of this, if the rhythm guide is no longer here (unlike the other guides, e.g sanctuary, flight) then where are they in this pic?
this looks like the concept art prince after he died
also @compact shale i have no idea what i'm saying i'm just overthinking
They're the bird? /hj
@compact shale hello beloved Manta!
maybe
No I mean maybe they can transform into a bird?
That’s true, interesting theory
i mean, it's kinda obvious.
Look at the hair and compare it at the bird, it has some distinct features to compare with
Because that means that they’re also in the season of flight!
So if we wait for a few thousand years we become gods, pretty good deal 👍
(I heard someone say Megabird might be a supercluster, so if every last star is used in that supercluster, and the power gets distributed, then we’ll get practically nothing 😔)
just because the rhythm guide can transform into the bird doesn't mean it's the guide itself.
It's possible that the guide has the ability to transform into one. The bird we see on the picture is just, a bird-
I see, thats true as well
Yeah
if we wait a few thousand years we finally get control of our own fate!
Oh hello Rhythm Guide! Also can I have your hair-
Hello
yes
Yay
The murals on the ark do seem to depict ancestors using them ! Two summon fireworks while one summons a campfire
You know what sounds illegal? Ancestors taking size change potions
I recall the devs saying sky kids wouldn't grow into elders but they didn't say anything about ancestors... though feel free to tell me if I got it wrong.
When you buy from their friendship tree, spirits do seem to pull candles from their chest like we do.
Feel like yall can appreciate this meme LOL
Me at 3 am suddenly having a new idea
our parents when they catch us not doing homework
RAGE! RAGE! ANGER! WRATH!
every edgy skykid / crab
I mean, if u follow the ‘King is the first skid’ well…
AH i just wanted to correct the lightcore thing, I do believe they’re completely seperate, being different time frames, but may have similarities, hence why they’re called ancestors and we’re called descendants (at least in concept art)
tho iirc also ur correct on that quote WA
Maybe their lightcores are built different idk ¯_(ツ)_/¯
As far as I know those are easter eggs, back in Sky Light Awaits there was Aviary instead of our HomeSpace
Imho those birds statues were just from there
Listening to the OST whilst studying. If I recalled correctly, this piece is played when you meet the Elder of GW.
Hmm the fact it's titled that makes me go hmm 🤔
I wonder if it's in referral to Sky Prince or im reading into it too far.
I dont think it's a coincidence- maybe it's already mentioned here though
Seeing as the other pieces have some relation to what's happening
I believe they have the soundtrack posted on YouTube and spotifiy!
Yeah! I mean as in sheet music haha
oohhhh there’s probably something out there that turned it into sheet music, I know that the hidden rain rainforest is
so thats the theory channel
I like how forest elder theme is called the invention, and how the theme for when you open the game is called first breath
I absolutely adore the Vault music. As a musician myself (tmi I know) I just love everything about it. And how heartfelt it feels. And the fact one of my most favourite pieces is called "For those who have come before" it makes so much sense from a contextual perspective
I love the titles they have to the songs! fit so well with the story! I find it quite difficult to listen to the entire soundtrack though since it has a lot of high notes and I get headaches from basically everything (-,:
edit: musician very cool, I used to play trombone, okay ahhh off topic
I agree! I play the flute so :") trombone is super cool! @tidal valve
Anyways, back on topic, does anyone know where this tunnel leads? It's in the Vault, inside the 4 person puzzle. I went to the end of the long corridor only to find closed doors

There should be lanterns you light which will open a pair of doors at the bottom of the path
It’s for a spirit “
”
if you come in from the top you can't light up the lanterns
since they're on the other side
wait this isn't questions-and-help lol
is there any distinction between the usual candles we see VS the dark blue candles for the first flight quest?
I was trying to replay the memory to see again what they say about the blue candles but I can’t replay any of them.
They don't say anything, just tell you to bring them to the spirits.
do they have any specific purpose? the color theory says tht the blue tones represent darkness, but wht are the flight spirits using them for>
Honestly I think the visual difference is just for gameplay mechanics reasons, but I like to think as a headcanon that different candle wax colors have different meanings in Ancestor culture
i feel like krills are more of a dead gods but like like we have the “children pf the light “ ok so maybe they were adults that didn’t like the idea of snot ruling the people of the light so they turned evil and when they died they turned into krills
that why i think they hate the children of the light
What is this photo of?
Hi hi, it's a biblically accurate angel
FYI angels that look like plain humanoids are also technically biblically accurate.
if we assume tht all life is from megabird, with the "one is all, all is one" theory, we can look to Gnosticism for an interpretation
In Gnostic understanding, the fall occurred as the result of physical creation. In keeping with the "oneness" of the eternal God, Gnostics promoted the idea of androgyny or the union of gender. After the fall, the logos, the pre-existent Christ, came to earth in human appearance to teach humanity how to return to this original androgyny and reunite with God. According to them, God sent Christ to restore the original cosmos. As the divine spark within humans had fallen asleep, it did not remember its origins. Humans had to be awakened to the presence of this piece of god within them; a concept mirroring Zen Buddhism.
source: https://www.worldhistory.org/Gnosticism/
Ooo,
actually, a lot of interesting parallels can be seen between popular sky interpretations & Gnosticism
like with the demiurge, thinking it was the "true god", creating an imperfect physical realm & thus suffering
as opposed to the true god (megabird)
The Gnostics promoted a higher God of pure essence and love as the being the true God over the creator God.
And some of the stuff are quite similar with Christianity
I did make a theory about Elders descending from "Heaven", which is like The War of Heaven (the one where Lucifer defied god)
so... the wind paths connect all realms, but considering tht they connect to remote locations, they aren't used for any commercial or commerce purposes
is there any discussion on wht the wind path spirit group's purpose is, as well as the paths themselves?
I haven't done the quest yet... But if I had to assume, the wind path's are solely for the creatures themselves as the remote locations are probably sanctuaries
They are referred to as the old kingdom's pathways (paraphrasing), so I beg to disagree.
As for fallen unity, there's some interesting hindu concepts if you're into religion ! They got a concept for the universe as a whole but I forgot the name.
Ivenevertypedherebeforehh
I have a question and idk if I spoiler mark but like,
||my friend and I looked at these in office, where can I find them so I can read that pixel text? I’m curious...||
no need to spoiler
not sure, wish you could read it too 😦 I did find the guy who drew those concept art pieces on the wall in ||office|| and they have a website you can check out for more stuff https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1 will say, it’s way to laggy on my phone though to actually load
Wait, what mural?
Hi!! Where does exactly is the mega krill horns in Gw? Is it in the ark or sunken boat? Because I couldn't find them
I’m pretty sure you can find them stabbed through the boat where crab call is, I have a lantern and I can go back a take some photos later in the day if you’d like?
Oh that'd be really nice! Thanks!
@orchid jolt
Thx
megakrkills, which is a theory currently, can be found in shipwreck.
You will see dark jagged spikes stuck in the back of the ship, near the meditation shrine.
What's this figure like at the bottom of the vault elevator
The spikes raider was talking about in the message I'm replying to (provided by raider too lol)
not really sure but a lot of symbols in sky tend to repeat, you can find them on the archive walls and on the bells in prairie
I tried looking for clear office poster. None are readable. I thought I saw a clear one posted once. Im pretty sure its just what was said in the gnosom sky presentation
One of them mentions the Forest Elder baiting the children to be eaten or something-
super off topic from what we’re talking about rn but I remember somebody asking for the Chinese sky map and I found it
But that symbol, it looks like the King in sky, it's in the concept art and looks very
similar...
Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet:
also some other maps, of prairie, village of dreams? and forest ❤️ sorry in advance for the photo spam
The enchantment elements?
I feel like those are the basic elements that the sorcery in Sky uses
Wait, wasn't there a boat that needed to be salvaged in Underground Forest? That SHOULD indicate that windpath was somehow used by the Flight ancestors as well... but for what?
I wonder, how do the bells manage to halt the rain in the Hidden Forest?
I like how in the Chinese map (the first one) vault is underneath eden, but I also like how in the maps made by tom zhao that all of realms are above the storm and golden wasteland isn’t which is why it’s so dark and gloomy
edit: also I’ve managed to read a little of the blurred text in the valley map (it’s not village of dreams whoops) and the text is actually really interesting, I’ll try and write it down in my notes first then copy paste here so you can all save the effort and eye strain
In the day story it mentions of defeating a dragon
I can't wait to clap a krill
1: arrive in sunset fly with creatures
Fire era statues echo last remains of migration
flying, creature gameplay, cloud surfing
2: fly along graceful mountain regions creatures leaving you as you turn the corners
Any flame here is decorative, creatures are scared away by kings symbol
Flying creature gameplay, cloud surfing
MEETING THE GODDESS
3: enter temple gate, summoning ancestors
The twins used to lead ceremonial speckle that honoured the kings victories in the dark stone era
Activation to summon ancestors
4: exiting ceremonial race, hit air targets and avoid obstacles mechanical creatures and boats join you in parade “temp needs further exploration from act and design”
celebration of the ancients victory over creatures and emancipation of fire worship, race obstacles represent a story of creatures attacking and the ancients using dark stone to defend themselves leading to victory
flying, surfing, dodging obstacles, hitting air targets
5: fly beneath mosuments of ancestors, fireworks
ancestors who rose to divine statues are honoured, more than 6 statues suggest chosen ancestors
celebratory rewards, flying through fireworks
6: turn a corner to reveal breathtaking vista of amphitheater with storm in background
amphitheater was original site of the kings coronation, finish line is where you make an offering to honour the king
Free flying, last stretch of race, creatures
7: fly into amphitheater and receive your rewards connect with ancestors and open the way to dusk (golden wasteland)
twin ancestor cinematic, giant king statue reopens gate to capital
Give/ receive candle, offer flame to king statue to open door
8: exit stage towards dusk and see underside of city beneath clouds
Cages of creature bones in the tunnel to show the extent of disconnection with the ancients
slower flying, downward descent
Oh sweet! ok, now that I’ve read the entire valley one the blurred text isn’t super hard to read anymore (wow is me eating carrots finally leading to something) anyways I’ll transcribe it below for, convenience sake
omg I just found out the prophecy icon is the king of eden head
So so far I know that the prophecy were all about how eden king was born, so this season must be about the king of eden? also why did TGC remove king of eden?
ngl i wanted the blak blob to come i think its cute
maybe the krills or the eden elder destroyed the buildings? maybe the other structures had decayed through out before sky kids (us) were born? in the third picture isle seems really nice but the isle now is sand, maybe some sand storm came and destroyed isle?
maybe thats why gw has catapults to fling the stars back to the sky???
The mental image of flinging stars back up in the sky with catapults ends me.
Reminds me of that story about yeeting starfish into the sea
okay finished writing the text from the prairie map 🙂 idk if this’ll be that useful to anybody but here u go
day story layout
childhood - play - wonder - fear - courage
FINISH THE THRESHOLD CROSSING
1: arrive in sky world on cliff edge, courageous leap
establishing shot, abandoned fire era temples, flame is crucial to world as resource
learn to guide
ANIMAL FAMILIAR
2: meet playful creatures in migration
Ancients build food/ water stops for creatures
fine ancient market or supply storage
creature interactions, pick ups, updrift tutorial
(handwritten text, alter, markets)
ROAD OF TRIALS 1
3: carefree flying go to temple
bird of light wind statues, temple shows history of old capital
advance with updraft, fly/ spin/ hold-hands
(handwritten text boat moar)
EXPLORE BEAUTIFUL RUINS
4: the old capital was built for wind travel and included rest station, boat repair, and coexistence with creatures
bond connect with others, flying creatures
(handwritten text, creature scantuary)
ROAD OF TRIALS 2
5: explore second temple, broken dark stone enterance absorbs your flame
newer dark stone technology, ancient village
dark stone drain, use updraft 2
DRAGON BATTLE
6: broken wind statues create gusts
builder ancestor supported the migrations but he’s disconnected and asleep
light creature in windy area
DEFEAT DRAGON
7: connect with wind summon ancestor
cinematic ancestor awakening, and fixes wind light statues
ancestor awakening
ENTER BELLY OF THE WHALE (forest?)
8: ancestor helps move heavy wind statue, fly into rain
giant updraft controlled giant bird statue
giant updraft leads you to other areas
"Defeat dragon"
We were gonna be so much buffer back then
that’s what I’m thinking? But this map I’m pretty sure includes a lot of concept area, most of those areas aren’t there anymore except for 1: threshold crossing 2: animal familiar maybe 4? And 7? I’d assume
so uh just in case you dont know prophecy lore, I think that eden elder came as a normal child like in this photo (not mine) and he completes all 4 trials and becomes eden elder? the last one loks like eden elder
I saw that picture when it was posted and agree with it, yes.
Usher: ai yo this child fell from the sky
Reject: lets present it to Daleth
Daleth: lets see if it can survive the trials

Me: you're not gonna ask if it's ok??? Srsly??
O wow we got all our students killed in these trials. Whats that? A prophecy baby just fell from the sky? We haven’t tried one of those before...
I made that photo. Im happy its in use. I debated adding a picture of Pointer and his family next to the three figures under Rejecter and Stargazer, since I do agree, I think thats them.
Is it indicated that they do indeed die? Like actual actual deathy death?
Unconfirmed if thats how the students met their fate, but NSW trailer confirms ancestors did have physical bodies, that they have no longer. And like. It would be a little awkward if sideways bodies in water and dark mazes where just sleeping...
haha... I remember when Cozy thought that the students in the Prophet's memories were childhood versions of some of the base spirits
Really does prove that cozy sometimes becomes tinfoil lorechat /hj
I will admit that I have participated in it
I still hear “Pointers daughter is Skater girl because they have the same hair” regardless of the different mums. The thing about lore is some of the stuff takes a lot of looking into details and other times looking into some details causes contradictions. Its fun though.
Oh yeah. That's pretty funny. There's also "Ushering Stargazer is Skater girl"
Ok I made that up just now but hairlogic allows it
Ah the study of hairlogic. A noble cause.
I bet TGC will get tired of hairlogic then introduce a stylist spirit to prove that ancestors do, in fact, use hair gel or something
BAHA! That’d be amazing.
hi sorry to butt in but I remember somebody mentioned that they thought spirits couldn’t ascend because they were corrupted or something, I found some concept art to back that up, sorry if it’s something that’s already been seen before aaH
Yeah, that's commonly agreed on. Do send the concept art tho! 👀
Lol
the text is blurry, but I find it interesting that it’s called a cleansing ritual
Ohhhh, interesting!
"hello i am a skykid and i help people by flying around them and setting them on fire"
sky: children of arson
O! There was a-kinda....uhhh....tentacle....octopus......dark..... bug.....slime thing on the backs of corrupted spirits before you freed them during some early stages of light awaits.
That’s terrifying, glad and also slightly sad that we don’t see it anymore
Oh yeah, remember when one of the concept dark creatures was like no-face but bigger?
It slips away when you melted the spirits outta their dark crust.
Yeah! Reminds me a little of the gw water, it may have lived inside there? I mean good hiding spot since the creature also looked like dark sludge
He juggled them :]
There’s also a staff in the Prairie sewer or whatever it’s called
Nah. Thats just a theory based off the axes, which Ash said where not for violence. Also hints about all the spirits being past mentors. Retired people of skill. And that one of the dreams spirits can juggle, and may be even more skilled than juggler. Its just the 2 and 2 I take to say YETI MAN JUGGLES AXES AND STAFFS. (And explains the broken pots I guess)
Someone said it could explain their broken horn. I guess better broken horn than hand.
Yea, the one in the bird caves
That's the Eel constellation from light awaits I think.
French flavor text for hermit valley hints they were an artist.
This place
omg hit a massive gold mine, in concept art of the building in valley where houses in that were meant to represent class systems
also in concept art, realm doors featured mural of the megabird, which slowly from hidden forest morphs to become the symbol of the king
bad quality because I’m on my computer aah
also, concept art of the realm doors, the symbol of the megabird on top slowly forms to become the symbol of the king
how official is it?
I have some high definition information pictures.
I really like the plot of the old version.
yes
I was right ??? A good chunk of the city was held aloft by darkstone ??? shdhshdshjssm
don’t talk to me I’m emotional,,, imagine the valley in its glory days,,,
oooo naisu
The ancestors died because of the development of those black stones.
🧐
What are we discussing?
From the details, in order to fight for the stone, the ancestors were divided into two factions and had a war.🧐
You mean the stone in Eden?
it makes sense why they wanted the stone, its an entire creation that powers the entirety of Eden
Maybe GW elder themselves are half corrupted and therefore they just are kind of fighting themselves mentally as that goes on?
But I don't really know if this is true so feel free to ignore this
yes
I have a timetable.
The GW elder was half-corrupted in concept art and they would find hope in the skykids then sacrifice themselves so that the skykids could move on
That's-
I now respect the elder even more than I do (at least in the concept but still)
On addition, you know those home statues on birds?
Homespace could symbolise safety and being present somewhere else under Megabird's care (which is the home). It's blocked by Wind Barriers because it's not really on land, but gives an illusion, the portals being a shortcut they created without it actually existing in the sky world (known stuff ig).
So when it's there in Forest and GW, they're also the only places that has danger (minus Eden. But you need to go there because of the final ascension, so MB chose to not have their statues there, especially at PNR).
And they assumed Skykids are inexperienced when they go to the realms before Eden so offers support.
Now, I wonder, are
there still mushroom circles and rainforest
rainbows?I haven't seen it for a long time.
It's an egg.
Mushroom circles happen in the last 15 minutes of every hour, and rainbows happen in the brook at 5am and 5pm California time !
Thank you
Our version has been deleted for a long time.
And the space station in the office.
What do you mean ? Are you using the chinese version ?
Oh no
It slowly disappeared in the update of the version.😖
gah
that's pretty bad
(is it true that you guys have kizuna hair there?)
What is that?kizuna
Mushroom circles?? :O
...oh, I see (they're a vtuber)
Did you guys still have Season of the Little Prince or not?
ban ai?
No, we started the new season on October 14.
Ohhhh, you guys skipped a season?
No, but our little prince's season lasts a dozen days longer than the international zone.🧐
On October 13, we ended the little prince season.
wait a minute...
You guys don't have off-season periods???
no
That must be pretty sad :(
Alright, let's stop here before the mods bonk us all. Back to lore, archivists~~
Two hours, to be exact.😂
What do we talk about
I... I have no idea.
Hmmm
Son of Light
What is that?
sky children😂It was forced by the translator just now.
Ohh, also is the lore different in the Chinese version?
That isn't Chinese-exclusive lore tho?
Isn’t that concept art?
I don't know, but here are some old versions of the settings I found.
it's concept art. :0
The story and development of the Sky Kingdom is always interesting, so I collected a lot.
Same
Keep in mind they're using a translator, their words being awkward might not be their fault.
Anyway yeah, pretty exciting to see the difference between our servers lol
Ye
i cant believe ive seen this popup so many times but never registered the king symbol next to light, wild
Also another bit, from todays final TLP behind the scenes on twitter, the place we go towards in orbit when we ascend was described as “The center of the universe”, idk what to make of it but someone might be able to take that and run with it
Wow that’s pretty interesting
Can you share the twitter link, please.
If that is true. That would be interesting to know.
In real life, there may nit be a "centre of the universe," but in Sky, if Megabird is the centre. That would further enforce the Megabird is Sky's god theory.
And the "Megabird as a supergalaxy" theory as well. A god that is a galaxy? HOW POWERFUL AND-
basically brighter than sky kids combined with old glow spell and white cape and stronger than people who are masters at flying
but way beyond that
Concluding our Season of The Little Prince mini series—
Sky's Creative Director @JenovaChen and Art Director @CecilKimLA1 share behind-the-scenes insights about last season's story and cast of characters. 🦊
‼️ Heads up! This video may spoil discovery of #thatskygame's ending. https://t.co/18HAm7ULQk
813
Thank you.
Ok, that can be confirmed as canon, because that was ThatGameCompany's twitter account, and that was a staff member from the game.
Cecil Kim, the art director.
Also, the fact that the skykid fills the role of the fox in sky is so cute.
I thought the skykid was acting as the pilot, since they can fly and the quests more or less lined up with the interactions of the pilot with the little prince.
Perhaps, similar to the fox, the little prince befriended the pilot.
So ergo, the little prince befriended the skykids.
ooo
Same about the pilot thing. Though that begs the question... WHO THE HECK IS THE PILOT HERE NOW????
The mantas
or the elders
i haven't watched / read it yet-
I am still convinced that the skykids are acting as the pilot.
The book is told from his perspective and the quests follow the story beats of the book.
Even though the skykid never meets the fox, the little prince resolves this with talking about the fox. So even though we dont actaully see him with the fox, the little prince at least acknowledging it and talking about it helps with this, that and the plush helps too.
I assume the reason why the fox itself did not make it into the game as an animal is how sky has very little animal species.
Including a fox might be a bit much, even if it would only be the one for the season.
That and the little prince in the season never mentioned the pilot.
So, this is either because the Prince has not been to earth yet, or the sky version of the story suggest that us meeting the little prince by a broken boat (sky's flying vechile), then learns that he lost his way to, we spend time playing with him and exploring the world, we sit by a well with him, see him with a krill (which can represent the snake of the book), and then the skykids witness the death of the little prince.
Like the pilot, try as we might, we cannot stop the little prince and we dont know for sure if he ever made it back to his rose.
All that we do know, like the pilot in the book, is that we can believe he made it and we can hear his laughter among the stars.
Actually, we do know. The very last scene at the end of the season clearly shows TLP with his rose.
this is interesting-
Scales? (This goes for all capes afaik)
does this game have a bunch of symbolism?
Or feathers
Birb of feesh? That is the question
I also noticed that, there was concept art that the capes had like extra wing extensions
Concept art by Tom Zhao suggest that skykid capes (theorywise) are made of a light (both by weight and literal light) material.
That has a recharge texture similar to that of bird feathera, and/or scales.
Is there a reason why the latest season outfits do not have a chest light?
I dont recall any other outfit ever do that.
Idk, maybe TGC's trying something new
or maybe the floofiness of the outfits are too thick for our chest light to shine through.
Actually if you look closely, there should be a chest light, small and bright, in the middle of the outfit.
hmm.. I'll have a close look.
Fruity may be right about the clothing being thick enough to cover up the light, since these are wintery clothes.
But the light might not be gone entirely.
They do tho ? Tinkering chimesmith outfit might hide it with the apron, and light whisperer hides it with the baggy cloth but from the right angle you can see it.
The light is an oval that is part of the skykid, thick enough clothes do hide it. The sword pants do that too with some poses.
That is interesting.
So a skykid's body has a light on the chest which is part of their bodies.
Though it make sesne given that is where they show their candles.
Now the ligh on their foreheads do not show up on skme masks, including the maskless look.
This might still go down to cosmetics of the game, though I prefer seeing a skykid without a foread light.
Perhaps it is not the skykids themselves with this 'third eye' light, but instead a part of the masks that the skykid can light up.
The basic masks (except maskless) all have a light. Maybe it's a religious or status thing ?
Some masks have a yellow diamond instead that can be either carved in (belonging masks) or drawn on (enchantment and flight masks, the latter being visibly unavailable).
Lightseekers notably don't have any kind of diamond on their forehead despite the basic mask shape and the light theme...
I remember that one livestream where Cecil kinda just makes up answers as he goes and gets stuck on a bit of his improve. It was funny.

Oh oh.....
Can you tell me which livestream it was?
The one where hes drawin big Ayin takin a stroll. He goes on “uhhhh krills are uh.....they represent balance...between....light and darkness” something like that. He begins waxing poetic
Thats prolly it. Only time for doodle. No time to actually check continuity.
Ah.
Thank you.
I'll have a look at it.
Perhaps the questions threw him off because he was focused on the drawig and did not expect certain questions to come up?
Either way, Maybe he slipped some lore bits while answering questions.
(darn it slowmode. sorry for deleting the message)
I want to see the stream too but for Ayin taking a stroll.
Yooooo what I went to the office and I didn't see this time line at all
Don't krill represent crushing debt because Wasteland represents middle age? /hj
Heres some things I completely forgot. A rekindled mystery or two.
Perhaps, a beta lynx cat Teth?
If you squint
Hey so this channel seems to be the best one for asking questions about the game even if it's just about the controls or whatever. So why does this appear when you move the movement button thing? It's the same eye as the one that appears when you honk and signals people you lit up or when someone else makes a deep honk
Whenever I get that, I just come up with something like it signals other people that you're there
That or a ghost is behind you
you could try asking in #questions-and-help , I'm sure the devs will be happy to answer.
Okay idk if yall think there's a deeper meaning to these glyphs/symbols from the Vault they appear in other realms. Including this picture I took in the Valley
But in the vault some of these symbols become black as you ascend levels I think.
I saw some concept art that mentioned that those diamond symbols are meant to represent the ancestors/ elders!
I really want to know what all of the symbols in sky mean, weather they came up with them on their own or it was it inspired by different cultures!
Going on with the symbols on the pedestal, would make sense that it reflects the elders as in concept art of the valley map it mentions that the whole race is about the fight of the dark stone era and light creatures, and that the light that you collect in the race is some sort of offering to the king, so collecting the light on the pedestal with the elder symbols on it really goes in with the theme
(also another interesting concept art fact) apprently the bones left behind light creatures are made from charcoal, they only leave behind bones if they die an unnatural death (dark stones? Corruption?) and elders are made from charcoal and jade
If you think about it, it's also reminiscent of the symbol on our sky kid's chest. And then we also have a diamond on our forehead.
Now that you mention it; our sky kid's diamonds are green. Yet somehow the other dark stone thingies/diamonds found throughout sky are blue.... and ofc at Eden, ||it's red||
Yoooo what that's really interesting.
Hmm I wonder what those symbols were doing in the vault then?
I haven't seen those notes in particular yet
Wait I'm confused. Can you point where the green is?
Not sure, that what I’ve been thinking
The charcoal bones thing makes so much, since they ARE light creatures and after a flame dies out your left with charcoal, who I didn’t peice that together before, idk?
The one on the chest is green? Or mb that's only in ||Eden when we run out of wl||
Okay but there's uhh light/sparkles at the "bottom" of the levels which helps you recharge? Idk would you define that as light perhaps?
YES! it makes a lot of sense. But the fact there's that much bones scattered throughout the realms makes me wonder what causes their deaths e.g. the one in the bridge area of the forest? Maybe that particular creature was hunted? (Seeing as the theme of that final area appears to be deforestation and hunting other animals to the point of extinction). I forget if there's any bones at the prairie- wait ||ofc there's some for Oreo||
And also, it seems a bit odd to me there's bones at the Vault. But seeing as there's a mass grave-like area at the bottom level at the 4 people puzzle, maybe those bones were brought there? Seeing as there's candles around the bones. Kinda like a shrine?
Ah I see
Going back, why is that symbol plastered everywhere right? If it's like a label, say, "humans", why would they need to place it everywhere... sky kids are made by Megabird though so that means that symbol is something given to us by the deity (probably).
all of these theories are so interesting, can TGC please give us an answer one day with the same amount of creativity
if they ever do decide to make a cannon storyline underneath all of the cool stuff
hello
What are all the names of the elders?
Elder Concept Art Names by @/Fruity from the FBI Void#8290
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Who one earth is the eden elder king and Prince?!
Maybe this will help? (Sorry I'm not very informed about Sky lore
)
Lore Moth Document https://docs.google.com/document/d/18B1-SKG3toG0oH0VhOWC5o-cG9u0STAN92QvmbhTDto/edit
There's info on the King and Prince here
Oof, links dont work for me at the moment. But I do appreciate it!

Only links that work in discord right now are discord links.
Gotta get this fixed
"Who’s the King?
The King is the presumed monarch of the Sky Kingdom. He is important to the lore, and is in game, just not in the way you’d expect. The little information about him comes from the concept arts and devs, so there’s lots of room for your personal headcanons. It is commonly accepted that the King is the Eden Elder. The Eden Elder is « not around to be saved anymore ».
Who’s the Prince?
The Prince is canon, it’s up to us how he affects the lore. In the concepts, he played many pivotal roles throughout the lore, I suggest reading them to find your favourite. We do not know if the Prince and King are separate or the same, that’s for you to decide! The Prince is also considered the Eden Elder at times.
« Prince and the King kind of exists, but we leave that up to you to interpret their roles in the lore »
-Dev Reika"

Sorry about the formatting

This answers it well enough. Thanks!
Okay okay I've had some time to think.
This is my own personal theory, but I think our skykids are actually what remains of the King who isn't "around anymore". Maybe at the last moment before they disappeared the king is remorseful for the greed and whatnot, that maybe to atone for that Megabird helped them by making life out of what remained of the King; e.g. Sky Kids to help fulfull the wishes that the dead spirits had. And to shepherd them back to the Sky. And also to hopefully reawaken the Elders too and help them reunite them again.
I say this bc, Sky Kids have Diamond symbols. To me I think this symbol is very much associated with the king. As there's two Sun-like or Star-like symbols. Which is think represents the prince (I think the King and the Prince are the same person, Prince is a younger version, who after undertaking the trials ascends and becomes super powerful and ends up becoming the King who becomes too greedy for power and becomes corrupt) the Megabird
Also if you've seen the Battlefield at GW, you'll see that there's two distinct sides on the shields with two symbols, a diamond or a sun/star symbol. Personally I feel like the diamond represents the king and the sun represents resistance against the king, perhaps Megabird/those who are in favour of saving the light creatures
!!!ALSO!!! The constellation that represents your friends in Sky is the crown, isn't this what used to represent the Eden constellation???
Not sure if you've been to Eden yet but ||its assumed that the final area, Eden, was where the King/final Elder resided. Due to some accident long ago, which many believed was because the King became corrupted, it caused for that kingdom to fall||
Also I'm pre sure someone mentioned previously about the similarities of the GW to other realms of the game e.g. how the first Krill area resembles a temple.
Okay with that being said, what if the hypothetical war's enemy was able to take the first temple, and had the residents of the GW under siege causing them to fall back to each territory of the GW until the final battle e.g. the Battlefield, which made them take shelter in the Temple as a result?
That sounds very plausible
hello
So like, the ruins was his castle in that area was his castle?
Indeed
Many of us collectively believe that to be the case
I feel like he may have felt great regret upon his departure, which would than cause his realm to be in disarray. Eden being his corruption, the turbulent ruins being his regret.
Yep, that definitely makes sense!
is it gone?
HAHAh im not sure maybe im just blind. I'll definitely double check
The Sky Kingdom’s monarch. He is a very interesting character and is referenced multiple times. Not much is known about him but I’m pretty sure he was responsible for the Kingdom’s technological advancements, as well as other things. Many people say he’s the child in Ushering Stargazer’s memories and the figure in the Prophecy murals. The others already explained the rest so here’s some pics
Many think that the king and prince are the same people but others think they're separate entities
Yes
P.s. this is what I was referring to in the vault- as seen there the glyphs are blackened somehow, the other parts of the platform have the glyphs are grey-ish in colour
My bad, the broken Diamond I ‘saw’ was a result of shaky camera movement and misinterpretation of the two wall decors. I’ve tried to fly back to the ‘diamond’ but there were none. Sorry to any confusion and lost winged light
can you send screenshots? I’ve tried flying up before but there’s an invisible barrier
Im just gonna say it. The ||plane|| just shows that our skykids are massive!
Thx
Looks like the thing we sometimes see on the elders. On the wasteland elders cape I think there's one. The vault elder oob should let you see it (the one with all the elders)
Different but similar
my brain is gonna explode, I just read someone’s theory on skykids being blind (when you’re maskless, the eyes are still closed) and using honks as echolocation. And when you’re standing near objects, your skykid automatically reaches out to FEEL IT
Welcome the Skylore where your brain explode 25/8
Echolocating Skykids is now my favorite theory. I beat the fire trial by echolocation lmao
I've had a similar theory, but only the fact that the masks most skykids wear is to help them see, (they're eyes are most likely open under the mask) but they still cant see very well. Which leads to another theory, the fact that Skykids are most likely awaiting to be reborn/born in their sleep, which after Eden it seems like a dream
oof. that means they are huge
OOOO I like this theory! Well done!
Thanks :>
np. hehe
The poster.. was this old prairie?
More like concept art of prairie. It existed for a short time but changed.
Not only that, but you can see obstacles using big call
Nah, aviary. Turned into prairie social space
The idea for aviary morphed into the wind paths that we now have
Do we know why the stars fell?
Greed
What do oyu mean by that?
At the very beginning of the game, I believe it mentioned the people of the realms becoming so prosperous(I assume, in end, greedy, like how I heard the King became) and it started a war which caused the stars to fall.
If I remember correctly, I could be completely Wrong.
Whose the king
This guy!
He's... not around anymore.
It is believed so
If you scroll up to the post that I just sent you about the king, there's a conversation we have about it
The intro has been updated many times to be fair.
The current cave story tells of the ancestors prospering and becoming numerous thanks to the stars, building their homes in the clouds then growing weaker when the stars fell.
Well darn…. They just can't keep their stories straight can they.
Now my question is did they start a war because the stars fell or did they start a war and then the stars fell?
In strict game canon, we have no idea.
Tbh what ithink happened, is that a wizard who could create some sort of dark magic, created the kills and crabs from there light forms, to confront the King in his place ein eden. The Elders tried to protect the king but they died. When he confronted the king, he cursed the land to be filled with darkness, as he kills the king. However, before he can plunge other realems into darkness, the children come to the Kings rescue, altimateally finishing the wizard, as they become states from the darkness. The castle code ebeen the anchor for all the stars, naf when it was destroyed by the darkness, the starts fell. And the reason civilisation never removed was because the stars were there hope and biggest energy source.
However we know from dev interviews (i really should watch those streams myself huh) that the stars that fell were the elders.
My theory is that the war happened after their arrival, specifically Tsadi's (golden wastes elder). We see Tsadi taking/being given the power of Fire from the caves of Prophecies by that golden prodigy on the murals, then seemingly using it to erect towers or strenghten soldiers (see the last mural).
And the children oyu sav eprom eden, ar ethe children who saved the world from ultimately being filled with darkness. They might be have also been there because they were starving and begging the Kings help, but his light transferred to them, making the children be able to defeat the dark wizard
Oh damn
I think wherever the Elders originally were, they were powering the world of the ancestors (my theory is that it was through offerings of light since most of the surviving technology is powered by you offering your candle). But with their fall, they were weakened enough for society to feel the effects, hence why they latched onto the power diamonds that could absorb/contain light and give off more energy, effectively making more with less... at a cost.
There's... interesting concept art as to how diamonds are made and how they could have corrupted the world of Sky, but within the game there's no real answer so I'd take that with a grain of salt.
Also, with your idea of the elders falling and people latching into power diamonds as an energy source makes a lot of sense, if you look at concept art for forest the temple is called a quarry and the machine you see in that room has handwritten notes that say that it was used to create stars.
I was always super confused by them needing to create artifial stars, but if the elders were the stars that fell, it would make sense that they’d try and create more
Forest tagline is “find the ancient source of power” or something. Power diamonds fit that bill.
I’m making a sky lore/ theory’s google doc for my sister with pictures and diagrams because she’s a very visual learner and finds it really difficult to read walls of text
so if anybody has an theories they want to add to it that you think my sister would enjoy feel free to reply or dm me your theories! (-:
psa. I hope this isn’t making it seem I don’t appriacte the google doc we already have ❤️ I think it’s great I just wanted to make something for my sister that’s all!
Google doc is nice but it apparently has lots of details that were written in misleading ways or just straight up invented, it's nbd to want to make another.
I'm currently a bit too busy to redo all the research to make a new one but...
Some of the streams the lore doc takes as sources are strait up gone or listed as different streams. And the only hints the wording is different is what mods said. I really wish those where archived, the only hint they existed now being differently worded quotes. I really think collecting all important text is impossible now. I stick with concept art.
quick question: what exactly are spirits? like are they fallen sky kids? or the people who were there before the stars fell?
Oh ok! I’ll try my best with the doc, I’m not super well versed with sky lore but I can always make changes based on feedback!
I’d assume that spirits were just the community that live in sky, I like to think the only reason we see them within the different realms is because their soul cannot pass on since they are corrupted, just my guess though
some concept art to back up the corrupted spirits idea! also when you look at a spirit there is a dark orb stuck inside each of them, and you as the player melt that orb and relive their memories so they can pass on!
i always imagined that the spirits were indebted to the elder of the realm they’re stuck in
or perhaps… the elders aren’t letting them pass because the spirits need to teach the new generation of sky kids to pass on to ||orbit||
that’s an interesting take!
something with spirits have to do with the whole ||orbit|| thing, because those ending scenes seem like all the creatures of light are fleeing
Interesting observation: in the first three realms, you can backtrack (if you go back when entering the prairie and forest social spaces, you can access the previous levels).
Valley does not let you go back to forest through the cloud tunnel you came from because of a wind wall, but the wastelands social area lets you fly back up to the valley temple if you backtrack. Of course, you can't really fly back up the tornado you fall through to access the actual realm...
Vault also does not let you backtrack.
Make of that what you will, perhaps it could fit a theory that also explains why the realm portals in home are separated, with a set where everything is connected and another that's not really connected (perhaps the wastelands social area is part of valley, and the actual wastelands are down below).
wasteland social area and wasteland in general is actually a part of valley! if you look at the concept art map of valley it states that golden wasteland is actually the part of valley that lies underneath the clouds from edens storm, which is why your unable to see eden in gw! also added a comparison screenshot
I also like to think that the reason you can’t back track in vault is because vault is actually within the mountain of eden (shown through Chinese sky map), also makes sense as if gw is below the storm there has to be an elavated system to get above the storm to actually enter through eden.
vault is an area that is entirely basically, a gigantic elavator, there are no windows or natural light, so it being built inside the mountain could be true.
(image take note of vaults position within the map)
also, in sky light awaits the position of vault is also underground, and underneath the doorway leading towards eden
Oh yeah ! I love this and saw that yeah, I was separating the two as levels per se, but I do agree both realms were actually one big city (Maybe different districts ? Kinda like Brooklyn and Manhattan aren't the same but they are both part of NYC) !
It also fits with how I see the entrance to Valley as an almost addicting emancipation from the gloominess of Forest, and then... crossing the exit to the temple, you fall. Like midlife crisis and reminiscing your twenties. But I digress. This could also be the ugly side of the city that pays the price of all the smokes and mirrors previously seen.
At first I dismissed that theory since it would mean one realm got 2 (or even 3) elders, but then I remembered that the song that plays somewhere in GW, either elder cutscene or GW broken temple, is called "A tale of two Heroes". Perhaps the twins were the "face" of that city, and Tsadi was the guy working behind the scenes.
i also recall reading the elders are met in places significant to them ? not sure, but if it's true, then the kingdom would have been more homogeneous than i expected
It is shown in concept art and in a Japanese livestream that valley encompasses different social classes within the realm! I’m not really sure how New York and mantattion works I’m not American but I’m assuming that’s what you mean?
I like to think golden wasteland is just there to show the aftermath of the destruction that left behind with the dark stone era! and how community started to slowly stray away from the ideas behind the prarie society
Maybe Golden Wasteland was once known as the Golden City, which could've been home to much richer citizens, while the Valley consisted of middle class? Then Daylight Prarie, hidden Forest and the Isle could've been rural areas (from the Nintendo trailer we can assume that the Isle of Dawn was simply a camp site for nomads)
(Obviously this would've been when everyone started to settle)
also, ‘the fall’ that you mention is very much intended! it’s described in one of the notes attached to the valley map, and how it connects to the feeling of the areas and the actual lore and progression behind the valley races!
Would make sense of golden wasteland being home to the higher class! there is concept art of golden wasteland before the storm which mentions the kings arc
Also the fact that its called the Golden Wasteland, gold is normally associated with wealth (or perfection if you are an alchemist like me)
also, just came across my mind! there are lots of king symbols within golden wasteland, the pillars of the broken fortress through the distance have the shillotute/ appearance (I cant spell sorry!) of the king, as well as the gw temple which also shares a similar likeness as well
The King seems to be imortalized throughout the world of Sky, it seems as if they were seen as a god of some sort, maybe seen as the true voice of the megabird?
that is true! there are king symbols throughout the world of sky, but I find that the symbols are much larger more distinguiable in golden wasteland then anywhere else, also the king being a truer voice of the megabird does make sense as in concept art of the realm doors the megabird symbol depicted slowly morphs into the kings symbol
as well as in valley race maps in concept art, there are written notes on how to king helped stop fire worship (fire which was granted by megabird)
Fire, AS IN DARK SOULS!? AS IN THE ETERNAL FLAME!?
(i'm so sorry I couldn't help myself)
that’s ok I don’t mind, not that I understand what you mean haha
ktjn's clones are watching
I thought that you can't backtrack from forest either?
Actually you can ! First off, it is tedious but you can fly back up from the entrance to the social area. From there, you can walk back into the prairie temple, just walk back into the broken bit of the temple you come from when you go from prairie to forest.
What if the krills are actually guardians that used to protect the Golden City from invaders
actually! In the sky timeline those krill were actually once light creatures who tried to protect themselves as a race and the sky world from corruption! but they also became destroyed during the process
🤩
I found an incrediablly interesting google doc about concept art from the elders, makes so much sense as Tom zhao concept art of the elder masks allowing animal transformations confused me to no end but, I found a link explaining all that (bear with me I’m trying to write the google doc word for word since I can’t copy paste)
docs.google.com/document/d/1qCXI82o4VoEmQDL2eBRIw7u7dRHEMMplpIRaUvyGTWg/edit
should be the link, hopefully, I can’t copy paste so I just typed it out lmao
edit: )-: not the link GOD WHAT EVEN is the difference between capital i and l
Lol
I would love to see that. Dudes turning into critters has always been a kinda theory but theres concept art of it?!
omg so, cant send the link but it was attached to a tumblr post so I’ll link that instead? It’s the last link in the page, called the elders concept names sky-lore.tumblr.com/post/646315193656311808?is_related_post=1
PLEASE WORK I SWEAR
OMG OK SO guess I’ll have to downalod discord on my computer pray for me I’m a grandma inhabiting the body of an 18 year old I have no idea to do anything technology
Lol 😂
http://sky-lore.tumblr.com/post/646315193656311808?is_related_post=1
Is it this?
You probably should have placed http:// before the link you sent for discord to recognize it
I've decided that I want to start looking more into Sky lore
Anyone got any places to start, whether it's another blog, a post, or a website? Anything would be helpful! :)
YESOMG THANK U
I don’t understand technolgy thank u!! <3333333333
http://docs.google.com/document/d/1qCXI82o4VoEmQDL2eBRIw7u7dRHEMMplpIRaUvyGTWg/edit
And here's the other one you sent c:
how people understand discord is beyond me, thank you so much!
I already have some concept art of the elder transformations but I never knew thats who they were? Cat lady is forest! very sassy suits her well
And the spider is meant to be golden wasteland! Elders were bosses initially in the game that you had to defeat! And further along they would sooner become more like their human? Selves
O. Its just the anim-elders. They where first designed as boss fights before they became more humany as they developed in the game. (This is my fanart)
on the google doc is mentions that vault elder was a crow! Since crows tie into intelligence, man I’d love a sky game with bosses though, I wonder how the game was like initially and all the cuts they had to make for mobile
The doc didnt open for myself
Oh no! Not even on the through the tumblr linked post?
Which one? Is it in the elder one? All of those are links to imigur pages or livestreams?
Should be in this link, should be last linked thing! its called elder concept names
Thats the one I clicked. Mostly stuff I seen in this chat before, but, maybe I skipped over the crow part. I’ll look again. I know isle was a vulture.
I’ve just been doing some digging since I’m making a google doc for my sister with pictures and diagrams (-:
Ohhhhh. The doc calls her “crowlike” its not on the actual twitter post. Ohhhh. Okokok got it. The feathery gettup was pretty cool.
This reminds me of some Sky OC's I created who were supposed to be spirit animals too...this is really interesting!
Late but the doc link didn't work for me too. This one should work: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1qCXl82o4VoEmQDL2eBRlw7u7dRHEMMplplRaUvyGTWg/mobilebasic (I'm on mobile)
Great fanart!!! I'd pay if they made DLCs for boss fights for Sky
Goodness that would be amazing.
You know how the Valley of Triumph looks like the richest of all the realms, what if they took the remaining gold from Golden Wasteland and Eden when they were falling apart
not sure if i should be asking this but i have a theory that the elders can change their body size?
Like they can change their body to a skykid's size?
Not canonically. But I mean they can get glowy with some light. If you really want small elders nothing says they 100% cant.
alrite ty!
I’ve started writing the google doc with pictures! let me know if you’d like to see it while I finish each chapter, so far I’m gathering info for isle! I’m excluding elders at the moment as I want to put them all together in a seperate chapter (-:
does anyone know what this statue is supposed to be of in orbit? at first i thought it was just another king statue but the head shape is much different from the other king statues in gw and such
figured i’d ask here
Looks like the statue of some scholar. Some of those scholarly headpieces are taller than Lamed's hair. (no your skykid can't get a full-sized one unfortunately)
Are the elders dead?
yesn’t, limbo
Honestly who fricking knows
good question tho
Lamed?
I just said that their headpiece is taller than Lamed's hair.
who is lamed
Bault elder
Conceot name
Vault elder concept name
ahh ok ty, i didn’t know the elders had names
They're names from the concept art, they're noncanon now but they do have meanings and they probably say somethign about their personality and role
YESSSS I thought I remembered the wrong thing
Okay ngl 1st option is so cool!! But I guess they went with option 2 which is still cool
Woah- it makes me think that the world is slowly moving towards Eden?
Would love to see this more up close woah
I remember reading that Valley was a prosperous city with both rich and poorer regions so that might be the case; the GW being the poorer region
Honestly I agree with you too! I think geologically speaking, GW is is quite close to Eden per say- I think the fact the Vault was under the mountain makes it safe from said destruction so GW would have gotten the brunt of the dmg
So what are the scholars roles?
Yoooo there's text in Vault?? (Ironic I ask that but that's so cool)
They definitely would have had taken notes of history and stuff and also notes on genetic stuff of light creatures.
Also they perhaps helped the king with Eden related stuff ||especially the red diamond|| seeing as how close the Vault is to Eden
Sorry for the spam
Whats the red diamond????
Sky elders bosses would be a cool side of the game.
Reminds me of the game, shadow of the colossus.
Though, for Sky, it would have been cool to have these boss fights, but the idea would not to hurt or fight them, but instead of either taming them or just surviving the encounter to progress with the story.
The red diamond in Eden is a very large and corrupted power diamond.
These used to act like batteries, storing light energy to power vehicles, structures and mechanisms.
The one in Eden is fractured and seemingly calls down a storm and hail of red rocks.
There may be a possibility of this being a king/prince statue.
You can see a halo carving behind him, that may suggest this figure is glowing. That and it is holding a diamond to his chest.
The statue does resemble a scholar ancestor, though it would be very odd to have so many ginormous statues of an ancestor. Normally a giant statue in sky may represent an elder, even though it does not perfectly match the elder it represents.
There’s also one in Eden that’s broken
Is the Forgotten Ark the same ark this document is talking about?
If you want to know all of their names then here:
Daleth - Isle Elder
Ayin - Prairie Elder
Teth - Forest Elder
Samekh - Valley Elders (they share a name)
Tsadi - Wasteland Elder
Lamed - Vault Elder
Resh - King
Alef - Prince
Ok
I've always thout that when everything started to fall out of balance the krill rose up from the sea and attacked, feeding off light
It would make sense
Not sure.
The name may be give a strong reference to it.
Though the ark of the old lore was describe to be like a city or a castle on a sky ship.
The current lore of the forgotten ark, based on the in game information alone, was a great ship that sailed though the clouds as a part of the fleet of other sky boats.
The ark was carrying 6 glowing orbs, which was lost when the forgotten art crashed in the storm and krill attack. (there is a krill horn hidden in the hull of the ship to suggest this).
I am not sure if the enchantment spirits were part of the original crew, or they happened upon it in their own journey.
Hope this helps.
Thank you 🙏 🤩
*I personally think that all the creatures we see in the world of Sky rose up from the sea
The mantas and other creatures like it rose because of the light, the krill rose because of the imbalance in light and dark*
Agreed.
I wonder if other creatures can also be born in the clouds, or from nests (eggs).
The birds nest area in the Daylight Prairie, we can assume based off the name alone that maybe that's like a nesting grounds or even a nursery for newborn mantas and birds
That and the literal Easter eggs in hidden forest's boneyard.
What about krills, is it possible they can grow out of eggs too?
Well I'm pretty sure by now that krills are corrupted light creatures so in a way, yes, in another way, no
Oh ok good to know
Of course I could be wrong
Do you think the other Sky ships got pulled into the storm? And if the enchantment spirits weren’t the original crew then what happened to the originals?
I don’t think so
I like to think so.
There are other smaller boats that are beached near the entrance, and the spirits are stranded there because of the krill and no other way back.
The mural on the ship shows the ark being struck down by a krill and/or storm.
The ship could have lost its power after a strike of lightning (head canon), and crashed.
There is even a krill horn (or a dark sharp and jagged piece inside the ship.
Do you think that the spirits that are scattered around the realms are travelers from the sky ships? And they died from crash landing? The forgotten ark is pretty big so imagine 6 of them full of people, I think that’s enough to hold most of the spirits in the Sky world
I've always wondered why there are only 97 spirits (37 base game, 60 seasonal spirits) for such a big kingdom, maybe some of them ascended yet were never reborn?
Reborn?
In Eden, you die and then are reborn again, we can assume that the spirits used to ascend similarly and then were reborn
Oooh yeah
Maybe it was easier back then or something idk
but there was a light pillar and the spirits pilgrimaged to it or something?
Maybe a light once guided the spirits now that light has been destroyed because of Eden?
Or maybe the ancestors couldn't ascend because corruption trapped their spirits to the ground?
Which is why some spirits remain! They were trapped in stone, while the other spirits simply just died and are not being permited to be reborn
I believe that krills were once whales (light creatures) which ties into them coming from the sea and being corrupted. But what if the whales used to be guides for the spirits but since they all got corrupted the spirits who died later had no way to be reborn.
they aren't able to ascend due to the darkness inside them trapping them, rooting them to the ground.
That makes sense because every spirit you meet is always trapped inside of this rock covering
mhm
I still think that krills are corrupted whales
Profaned beings, if you will
Thoust profaned beings hast sinneth
Profraned CAPITIAL!?
(I keep making dark souls references, I'm sorry)
hahahaha dw i recently learned what profaned means and couldnt help but use it
But yes all spirits are profaned beings and we are helping them become un-profaned by setting them on fire with our holy light :D
Lol
Also I cant help but notice, Sky and Dark Souls have similar stories to tell
An eternal flame
Corruption (Hollowing)
Its just something I noticed
I don't think any of the normal spirits are "bad" or did anything worth punishing - I think it was just the king or whatever that was terrible and the rest were collateral damage because he messed up so badly
Facts
Could be... that's also a possibility... yeah, pretty plausible
(is cutting trees a sin?)
Everything is Gwyn's the King's fault
(once again I apologize for the dark souls reference)
it's actually the MOST plausible. because in Eden, sky kids are immensely innocent (in lore at least.... looking at you, chibis who ignore helping people with doors) and they still get petrified/corrupted and stuck in those statues until someone breaks them out too. So it's not about being punished. just collateral damage.
Yeah, true that.
There's a theory about hugging the king in the void.
Is Eden the new underworld for punished souls even though the souls might have been collateral damage
Idunno... it's the place of sacrifice that ensures that there will always be at least one poor bloke who still needs saving because no one can escape past a certain point
i don't know what kind of place to call it
Sounds like a dungeon
I don't think it was always that way though...
(hehe hellfire dungeon)
my first thought was painful ouchy heck land.
But "The Cursed Grounds" sounds much cooler.
oof ouch my bones
Yeah, yesterday we were talking about how Eden was the wealthiest kingdom until the ark used to much power and started to destroy things, we also talked about how the Golden Wasteland might have been the Golden City which would have been second wealthiest
Is The Cursed Grounds where we have to give our light to the spirits?
Those eden statues are the ancestor's statues?
I have a deep question. Who created the light creatures? Did they just evolve from the animals that were already existing or something?
Megabird?
Megabird I would say. Also if I recall correctly, Sky light creatures are made of light atoms/particles or something
Photons?
Maybe those spirits in Eden who were collateral damage were actually a rebellion fighting against the King
It's probable. I feel like some spirits like the king (or were forced to build statues) but there were going to be rebels. There always are.
hahahaha the king propagandists are gonna come for you
but srsly I have imagined it
like I've imagined that most of the Vault scholars would be anti-king because they eventually realized his true motives and yada yada that sort of thing
Exactly
im a king propagandist so watch out
They were all going to realize eventually that the King had his own agenda
cough cough but anyways, since we wee talking about his true motives what are his true motives
To become godlike? I've thought about that mural of him with a large light orb that he was trying to consume it so that he could become a light god like Megabird was? But then it backfired?
That makes sense, I always thought of them as a skykid who, ultimately, appears very large in king form. (mechanical suit theory thingy) so they always wanted to be bigger than they really ever were
oh the mechsuit thing? Hahahaha... you're gonna have to explain that more, I wasn't rlly listening to lorechat at thattime
So apparently the king is actually a prince in a mechasuit making him look bigger
If you look at the kings head, you can see the sillouhette of the prince
I don't know much about the whole mechsuit thing but I personally thought that since in the concepts, the drawing of the king had a small, humanoid shaped being at the top, that was the king. A little prince(pun intended) in a big suit, basically. Plus, in old eden concepts, after you get through the whole eden king ordeal, a tiny prince is there who is in the shape of a skykid
ough... man lil guy's gone through a lot...
SWING YOU SINNER!
Can you see the shape of the prince on the king’s head? It’s up above
I do hqve a question for the prince though... why the HECK is that suit so big??? its like 20x his size
maybe more tbh
He’s a little extra 😂
who built it
🍵
His minions probably
How did he even gain his status though? Does he come from a royal blood line?
what fricking minions
@coarse dragon they survived all 4 trials so they became the chosen one, idk what the king stans say about that
I am a king stan unless you mean in game stans
same theory though
He could have forced people to build it for him or he might have had some loyal subjects who were smart enough or dumb enough to follow him
I understand why he wants to be bigger but like that much bigger is extra haha.
I wonder how people(aka ancestors) thought thought about having a ruler that is smaller than the average how ever old child size was. Since assembly kiddos were taller than skykids(and assuming the prince was the same size).
maybe they thought he was easy to assassinate or something. not that anyone wanted to...
in all seriousness though they probably didn't take him too seriously
We’re assembly kids a special type of Sky kid? Is that why there were taller?
No, they were normal ancestors (spirit) kids. ancestors are naturally taller than skykids
Assassinate?? You know, that seems probable the more you get into the story. They could have tooken him seriously though since he was the conquerer of elements and did some havoc in the sky world
There's a theory that the king is the child that fell from the sky in Ushering Stargazer (ponytail spirit)'s memory. And then Reject and Usher sent the kid to the Isle elder, who sent them to the trials.
...yes, because this is totally standard procedure to finding children in unusual places. Orphanages just don't exist around here, sorry.
Dang
though imagine you were literally just birthed from the sky and now some old dude's making you go through the wraths of the elements (drowning in ice-cold water, falling to your death, falling to your death again but with wind, and getting strangled by shadow worms)
I believe so but not everyone will think the same thing. In eden concepts... welp i can't find it but the prince is there along with other glowy kids and they hold your hand. also what fruity said.
Must be fun being the chosen one/Avatar
No wonder the prince went crazy
Actually, with the skykid theory, he is the shooting star. Hence ushering stargazer memory
Oooh
And he came from the orbit, I guess.
You know, that could be pretty funny and/or plausible
they have no idea what to do with their power and the fact that they got tortured at such a young age so they do some crazy hecc
Ah yes angsty king theories lets goo
I think that's a suit thing. Though it probably just wheeled around like a giant throne or something.
Skykids are already powerful enough. They can respawn
That’s stupid, imagine making your subjects build this gigantic machine and all it does is move his throne, I would have thrown something at that mech
Skykids are true gamers
It's too beefy. It is pebble-proof.
I remember seeing the king hold a spear once. Although that could have been fanart? Not sure. I feel like there is more use to the suit though. Problem is that in game, the king doesn't make a physical appearance.
If you think about it, this is all Daleth’s fault
Technically, yes. Raise a child the right way old man!
They've lived for too long that they've forgotten how to take care of children who fall from the sky :(
It’s because they’re crumbling
Random but for some weird reason I compared the sky king and king Tutankhamun once for no specific reason. yes, it was a weird comparison im not saying they are alike or that king tut went corrupt
don't ask
It makes sense that you compared them tho, they were both young rulers that had lots of subjects to take care of and a lot of messed up things happened in there lives. And eventually both of them suffered a horrible ending. I’m assuming something bad happened to the king, I don’t really know
Yeah. Thanks and uh well SOP was kinda Egyptian themed? Which was centered around the king as well
So the Sky Prince teaches us not to rush adulthood and cherish our childhood?
Yes
As well as to tell adults to not force children to become adults too soon
What’s SOP?
Oh welp, that's something I can relate to realistically in this game at least
As well as for other people :D
Or, perhaps, don’t be ashamed of your childhood either. Don’t worry about acting like an adult, only children wish to act like adults. Sky Prince wanted to look adult when he became king, possibly being trapped as a child forever.
I glimpsed the future, and with this potion you will fulfill your wish to.... become a crab!
Season of Prophecy
Oh ok
Ahh chat is getting a tad emotional now, but there's nothing wrong with that
Tbh, there should be a while tv series with how much lore sky has
There's a few main sides to lore chat; king/prince stuff, angst, talking about how dark lore is and complaining about how the lore is vague, and concept stuff.
But most of it is king. Just the king.
Then theres like, looking 50 layers to deep on how mantas or skykids or elevators or whatever functions.
Are there different types of lore? Because I saw someone say Old Lore and Current Lore
Concept lore is pretty different from Live game lore.
Concept lore, Sky awaits stuff, and current sky lore.
What’s the difference?
Concept art lore is pretty much the current lore, but they went through 2 or 3 more concepts before settling on what we have now. So. Theres like 2 or so concept continuity’s.
Old lore is not canon. Current lore is canon. Although old lore can give hints to current lore. Like most of existing theories are purely based on concept lore.
So that’s why there old lore? Because it’s an old concept lore?
In one concept the Prince gave magical stones to ancestors to TURN them into elders. Ancestors got in a war with light creatures. And they made a noahs ark to escape the end of the world but critters blew it up and got corrupted in the process.
Is that current or old lore?
That is... interesting to say the least.
While dark creatures are prolly still corrupted due to the QnA livestream, Elders have now, always been elders, and the prince gave them ELEMENTAL powers with the elements in prophecy. Theres no war with light creatures, but vault was still filled with memories to give to the hope of the future generation.
well. lore chat was active for a nice bit.
Also theres a part about Megabird blessing the land with a new race to reconnect all life. I think that part is still in current lore honestly.
Yeah. Also I have a question, is the Megabird an entity with a single soul or an entity made of many beings in the orbit, like a galaxy?
Ohhh... I see. I've had a weird thought that we aren't built like any creature that exists before and we're built like golems because we aren't meant to stay in the kingdom forever.
@shut trellis An entity who can split itself into many entities, each with its own free will... at least, that's my interpretation
Dunno. Prolly like, the swirling combination of all souls, but some concepts mention its sentient. Might be a galaxy or something. Its never clarified. Its just the soul-recycle plant perhaps.
Does a none have a screenshot of the red diamond in eden?
Skykids being build like races before was actually part of the concept art. They are meant to take a bit from ancestors and a bit from light creatures to be sorta.....hybridish.
Physically, they are similar to ancestors. But they are made of light, so yeah
#eden-spoilers have some
Its technically like the storage for lore channel
I guess that's part of their "reconnect all life" purpose... why is my inner voice suspecting that we're not meant to be permanent?
