Apparently they are not in canon yet
Ye, like Proph is recent but it’s actually happened at the beginning of Sky Kingdom
docs would be handy
And Lightseekers might br near the end according to my theory
Oh ya, the docs are outdated and kinda uhh some misinfo since it’s fanmade so take it with a pinch of salt

Thank you!
But was it accidental or not…?
I think those were crabs. The weird hats they had on were sus tho. Someone mentioned their similarity to chimes I think
Ooooooo. I think it may have backfired somehow, perhaps to do with dark plants
Wait
Is the krill sentient?
I think it’s made organically through the clouds. So if we include clouds as a blob of matter… Butterflies have enough intelligence to stay in herds and respond to our calls even if we each use a different ‘voice’ and we can command them to sit on our hand. Birds travel in flocks… Krills are corrupted, could they still sense that we are a sky kid?
While most people have the idea of you being saved by other sky kids, I have a different idea. We save ourselves. There is already this theory of there being multiple versions of sky kid, so since we made it as far as the 64 before us what improvement to their version do we have? We have a part of our soul strongly attached to the light and the dark. I will now link the posts where i explain that.

Egg theory?
Well krills seem to attack most light creatures. There is a theory that it is to regain it’s own light, since other dark creatures (crabs) also so the same thing. The krill repellent spell also seems to show that krills sense us via our light as it seems to simulate corruption or at least us without light (the dark specks)
I love how a thing I sent put this name on that theory lol
Interesting,, wonder what krill were like before corruption
I actually agree with this theory, but for the sake of fairness I will also mention the theory that it is the Sky Prince that saves us (not to be confused with Petit Prince)
? why egg?
Egg yum
i will admit that this is very likely, considering the concept art. but since concept doesnt mean canon, i will stick to it being ourselves
do not question the egg, foolish one
What is it?
clocks, they have to do with world events. theres another clock in forest thats likely a remnant from light awaits.
The two most common theories are whales
or the creature from the Nintendo trailer
@lucid ibex
@orchid jolt thank you
Yeah, just thought I would mention it
I'm back after watching the cutscenes for enchantment, sanctuary, and prophecy
I'm honestly a bit confused by the murals in prophecy. Like, I barely understand anything shown
Reference to the short story by Andy Weir, "The Egg".
Here's the excerpt I put in this chat:
Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.
The thing I had going with that is that sky kids, spirits and light creatures are facets of something bigger.
Link it back to the saying "You are the universe observing and experiencing itself" which I bet is paraphrasing a quote by Neil Gaiman or some other writer.
Yah, but that's not what I was talking about. We aren't everyone else, we are just both of the characters that hug after we die in Eden. That's what my theory is. I don't know why it was called the egg theory.
Also the egg is an incredible story, I like listening to Kurzgesact's narration of it.
Remember that each season may have a different theme. So, they might not line up with each other perfectly.
The prophecy murals can be interpreted as the prophecy of the King, the sky prince, or even the winged light themselves.
Is it known why the corruption has been in the sky word?
look
Yes it's everywhere in sky
What is it?
Oooooo fancy
KING PROPAGANDA
you are not immune to propaganda
frog
if by corruption, u mean darkness, its because light exists, so should darkness. it always have existed as light did, why darkness corrupts tho, isnt completely clear but can easily be contrasted to light which gives life
Diamond
I'm new here ... Is it ok if I ask basic questions about the lore?
Oh wow, thats a beautiful thought, i love how much meaning there is behind the general game
Yeppy
Akksakkskddk W H A T
The ancestors’ technological power involved exploiting natural resources, and they ramped the technology up to extreme unsustainable levels. The natural resources all have something to do with light in this world, so destruction of light and disconnection from nature is what we see as this corrupting darkness.
What are we trying to figure out
Pretty
You cannot escape the king
I'm not in the mood
what the. Im hyped for new and unpredictable emoji drops
Agreed, before krills were confirmed to be corrupted, i heavily disagreed with the theory. that disagreement faded over time but your point still stands. perhaps its kind of like life and death, while death is crucial to have a sustainable world, its negatively viewed by the world. However this is probably because skykids are made of light and darkness is the opposite so in their eyes, darkness isn't a good thing(since its trying to kill them) although krills are just trying to get food and crabs are angry people wandered into their home. predator and prey sorta thing. and they could harm each other due to being opposites. but corrupted krills are just arghhh. it makes sense in some way but now there are no natural darkness creatures. (are crabs corrupted? personally i always thought they were)
@shut trellis is it true you are... A CRAB?
I was for a bit but I'm an Anubis, SkyBot. You granted my wish, didn't you?
So no, it's not true.
What do you think is the purpose for sending sky kids into Eden to die for who knows how long? Does it weaken the effects of the storm over long periods of time? Was sending children literally the only way to solve this problem without having to resort to the Megabird coming down there and fixing everything itself?
@slim plume Only YOU can sing with the Jellyfish Team

bloop bloop
I have to be a koi fish. It’s my duty.
prince symbol
also, judging by the pleaful parent's memories and the campfire where the pleaful parent is located, i kinda see why crabs would attack us
Darn crabs just want to survive
this is long im so sorry
I forgot to explain much of the first thing and that is because i am dumb and i don't entirely know the answer but to free the spirits, i believe. Yes we relieve spirits not in eden with no need to perish but they don't come with us in the orbit until we make them ascend by giving AC to them, iirc. (Seasonal spirits are exceptions) And to get Ascended Candles, you need to go to the Orbit.
Personally I have a theory that some spirits don't ascend or go to the orbit until you give thwm AC. Relieving the spirit frees them from darkness but its not enough to let them ascend. I could be wrong though. I don't know if it weakens the storm so my best guess was that it was all for helping the spirits. I think skykids do help rebuild/build some small stuff like the assembly treehouse but not eden as far as i am aware.
dude what my whole paragraph was deleted??? that was a pain to type argh
Ye, personally I think skids’ purpose is to free the spirits but not lessen the storm?
OHHH
I retyped it.
Turns out, my message is blocked.
:(( I wish I had copied the text..
Oh no :(
Why isn't it their purpose to lessen the storm?
It's fine, i got the message back thanks to Mirian but I probably won't repost it, i will if the question pops up again though
How can they lessen the storm? Seems like a tough task. Besides, the ancestors are gone anyways, they have no purpose in staying in the realms imo. with exceptions of the seaonal guides.... but I guess they could try to restore the world... but even if they could somehow stop the storm, could they rebuild eden?
I guess you're right, their purpose is to "bring our spirits back to the stars" as revealed in Isle. Though this does imply that the sky Kingdom is a lost cause and when we get all the spirits to ascend the kingdom will just be left alone...
Yeah, to be honest, it doesn't really make sense to me. I may not be the brightest but it seems really weird
Well I have this headcanon about the future of Sky which is apparently more horrifying than I think it is
Megabird may be a god made from a galaxy of stars, but not even stars are infinite for them. They will eventually make their last star into a skykid. What happens after that...?
When skykids were made, they were bound to a purpose "Bring our spirits back to the stars." Megabird said. When Megabird uses their last star, they won't disappear, but their power will be fully dispersed. When this happens, skykids will be unbound from their initial purpose and will be free to create their own.
What will they do? Will they destroy this world again? Will they rebuild it? Make it their own? When enough skykids unite for a cause, their linking stars could literally give them godly power!
do the
& light whisperer (pygmy manta call) have anything in common?
actor has the mask of the large bird, while whisperer has the wings
mask: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/5J7LMcP-m1o/maxresdefault.jpg
wings & large bird: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/575768778789617674/892207027064037436/FAUpFY2VkAASsjL.png
Well the large bird probably is the same species of bird that Rhythm uses when touring around the realms so...
But if they're called elder birds how did Rhythm acquire them? Do elders endorse the Rhythm group, thus allowing them to use elder birds? Or are elder birds just not as sacred as i think?
hmm, in that case if elder birds are considered sacred, why are admiring actor & light whisperer using their image in clothing?
they don't seem to hold much religious or spiritual importance
I was kinda thinking of the "indian cows are sacred" but without the common spiritual knowledge accompanying it (only a few people know the spiritual backstory behind it being sacred)
Funnily enough my first thought when I heard they were called elder birds was "Nooo they're too sacred to pat"
indian cows as in "don't kill them or disturb them"? not educated on tht subject
Me neither, that's basically all I know
IDK if "disturbing the cow will get you beaten up by the townspeople" is true tho
probably not entirely
who needs mods, skybot to the rescue!
I don't think you'd get in trouble if you disturb a stray cow as long as you don't mean it...
I'm gonna just leave this here

Yeah, I think they're pretty similar to golems, but created by Megabird.
@compact shale Only YOU can make the Krill Team even scarier!
why make krill team scarier when you can make hug team more wholesome
There are no bad theories
There are only
Theories with a lot of analysis put into it
and
Brainrot/conspiracy theories
Both are good but personally I put my brainrot in Cozy and my more analyzed theories in LoreChat
Sky is like a book created by an author who died: You can interpret all you want, there will be common interpretations, but no one will find a definitive answer
True.
Or more like an autheor that does not want to give away any secrets, but wrote a mystery based novel. That and made it into a free to experience mobile game.
If the other Enchantment TS had a orb prop and each prop had a minor powerup related to the Ark restoration,
What power would you give each?
🔴 🟢 🟠 🔵 🟣 ⚪ ||I wish we still had the elementlight reaction/emoji here on Discord||
Let me... shower my brain juice about all this! :D
Red light - Memory powers such as decoding murals, viewing an object's history (use this on ruined areas and artifacts) and looking into the memories of other living things
Green light - Earthbending and plantbending
Cyan light - Airbending and wind path creation
Orange light - Firebending
Blue light - Waterbending
Purple light - Knowledge related powers such as foresight, telepathy, and mind control (mostly illegal)
White light - pure light used in offerings to Megabird, can be used to heal light creatures
For example
🔴 Red light - ???
🟢 Green light - make whatever terrain flourish
🟠 Orange light - Wide warm rechargin area or maybe instant recharge by touch, (or even instant lit all light/lamps/candles in an area
🔵 Blue light - clean water + walk undewater
🟣 Purple light - ???
⚪ Cyan light - an air stream lifting us ||there's no cyan emoji
||
Yes but specifically in game what use they could have?
I express in #wishlist-and-ideas-archived that adding a minor power/effect would even help us in #lore-discussion-spoilers get an define idea about what the 2 mysterious ones do, Red and Purple
Plus, I'm a bit fed up of just useless prop.. yes decorations are good, but a table has it's useful power/effect, why not adding a some to those props too?
Hmmmm...
Red light/purple light could be the ultimate lore-revealing items AHAHAHAHAHA
For blue light there aren't much places where clean water is useful so maybe it can be used to create a bubble around you? idk
I think it could be useful if you want to take your time to write a paperboat note or if you want to burn a plant without being drained
Plus image how could would it be to have clean spot of water in the middle of Wasteland
Pretty cool
If you stand in one spot long enough with the blue light's effect on koi fish start swimming around you
Ooh, and maybe the water could be so clean it could allow us to walk underwater too
wl homing beacon?
Wait, what are you thinking of? I was thinking that when you place the blue light prop, all the water within a certain radius of it will be purified
Like a big circle of purified water? ??
I think TGC should stop assuming we're idiots.
I did a longer message but it got deleted, so I'm just gonna say that their lore is not exactly fertile grounds for theories, but so shaky it doesn't make sense unless you're willing to deep dive on their social media for crumbs or straight up make your own story.
WDYM assuming we're idiots?
||me no baka, chuu!||
Ask for a mod here , sometimes some words trigger an automatic filter here in Discord
Vela and I spoke about it in the past.
The game gives suggestions of a mystery. But at the same time dumbs down some parts of the lore for the sake of family friendly content.
I never noticed! Like what?
I see it got deleted...
Only thing whacker than sky censor is the sky discord censor.
It is hard to market a game about death and destruction when the premise is light and childlike.
That and while the game gives subtle clues. Some of the canon lore is impossible for new players to find unless a vet tells them, or they find it outside of the game.
Maybe Sky was originally supposed to be one of those animes that seem just like any other anime in the genre but are actually edgy and deep on the inside
That last paragraph. I think Sky needed to be an MMO for game reasons but should have stayed as a standalone story-wise instead of being modified every season, like journey.
Well, the story/gameplay balance is quite delicate, Ktjn has said it.
Though if Sky is one of those mood whiplash anime things... why isn't the rating older...?
Because now we're all always waiting for the next season to remove or change canon stuff.
Ktjn is not infallible, I don't think it's against the rules for me to point out where I think the game is lacking, just as I praise it's strengths.
I am honestly at a loss at what the big picture is for Sky.
For Journey and Flower, there is a solid base to work off.
But Sky is a different case entirely, it is not like the past games because it is two different games caught up with each other.
On the one hand is a mystery based lore the skykid (or more the player) is supposed explore and learn about the past. And the other is a endless cycle of daily grinds vs content being fed unto the players.
I can write a whole essay about it, but the lorechat is not the place for it.
All that I would like to say about Sky as a whole is, it sure is something to experience, but commiting to it is something that will leave you one very shaky ground.
Guys, What would your powerups for orb props would be? 🔴 🟢 🟠 🔵 🟣 ⚪
It could be a subtle way to get a what Red and Purple lights bodied during Enchantment
Agreed.
It is a very tricky balance to pull off.
And while things are being shifted about, the players have no choice but to adapt to the changes that make it into the game.
With, or without warning and/or notice
Plus if you come up with some good idea you could put a suggestion in #wishlist-and-ideas-archived
I tend to be horribly salty at times so I keep my frustration on the dl here, but I feel like shaky canon is a pretty important thing to adress in a game where we are encouraged to find the lore by ourselves.
The moral of the story is definitely up to us, and I find it wonderful each person got out of it something they can resonate with (from healing to acceptance or unity).
However the lore being more... "palpable" makes it less easy to work with when it's as stable as a card castle each update.
Purple is knowledge like Fruity said.
So, it is likely arcane magic.
Red, revealed murals, i don't know what element is that other than darkness.
I think Red might also symbolize persistence through darkness (based on the clue for finding red light) , so it might also make us stronger or something
I think red light's power is to keep history from being forgotten, it can carry history even through the darkest times so that it never gets forgotten because history repeats if you don't know what to do
Red is also associated with the King.
It is power, passion, royalty and strength.
In sky at present, it is the colour of darkness and corruption.
What once was a respected colour, it is now one that presents danger.
Hmm... maybe the red light that CAN be controlled by the ancestors is its uncorrupted form, while the red light of krills is its corrupted uncontrollable form.
A warped light, if you will.
And Love & Hate
, basically red means anything 🤷♂️
Red is the color of all the strong and destructive stuff
Love, hate, explosions, fires, passion
All either strong or destructive or both
I'm gonna reply in the order we find them in:
Red Light - Found in a cave "where the darkness prevails", used by the Nodding Muralist to light up the murals on the ark. Probably a source of light.
Blue Light - Found in the ice rink where "rumours point toward the pure waters of a mountain lake", and used by the indifferent alchemist to purify water near the ark. Maybe it could allow one to safely swim in dark water ?
Cyan Light - "lingers among the early gusts of wind" in Isle, and used by the Crab Walk spirit to summon updrafts. I'd see it giving you a flight boost, like the valley flying race beginning loops.
Green Light - Apparently "the fable is they are gifts to the earth from the sky" in the bird nest, is used by the scare spirit to make grass and flowers bloom. Probably would give the power to temporarily make grass grow in places as well, which could be useful to not slide off some places.
Purple Light - is found in Vault where "it is said they hoard ancient secrets". Snoozing Carpenter uses it to decorate the ark and ready their tools, so perhaps it could be used to summon props.
Orange Light - Final Light in forest where "they offer warmth in times of cold", used by playfight spirit to activate their tools to be used by sky kids and summon birds and butterflies. Could be akin to a recharge...
If red light is found where darkness prevails, maybe it can give us an endurance buff, make us harder to hit by dark creatures?
I recall something, either here or in another place, where enchantment can be linked back to lightseekers since they seem to be depicted on the ark; you see them picking up light fallen from megabird/the stars, bringing it to what looks like vault scholars, and the scholars encasing that light in orbs before giving it to people, who are depicted using it to summon fire, and fireworks (which are both spells we can use).
Perhaps we can even link them back to Prophecy with the elemental powers depicted as stars as well ?
That's something I'm very interested in! I also have a loooong headcanon about it but it's a headcanon, not a theory, so... ahaha :p
Edit: What's the difference between a headcanon and a theory? Theories are created with a lot more analysis in mind, while headcanons are created off the top of my head and not as connected to the main lore... that's how I use it, at least...
Here's what I think:
Lightseeker lights: Normal fallen starlight, used to be gathered by ancestors as it could have powered their world (hence the line about civilization thriving under the stars in the intro).
Prophecy Elemental powers: more powerful fallen starlight that could have been too powerful to handle (see the first wall paintings before entering the actual seasonal area where it seems like they caused the environment itself to change), and could have sparked some beliefs (hence the prophets) before someone got the idea of giving them to elders.
Blessings/Spells: Refined lightseeker lights, a lot could have been used regularly in day to day life, like fire camp.
Enchantment lights: either supreme blessings, or an attempt at recreating something akin to the Elemental Powers.
A theory is a concept or idea that is backed up with evidence.
A headcanon is a concept or idea that has little to no evdience but is a conclusion someone makes based on their own bias or intuition.
Just to add, a hypothesis is an idea with no evidence to support it at all, until it is proven as a fact.
I suddenly got a weird random thought:
Since we see that a small amount of blue light by the Shrugging Alchemist proofing against a little pond of dark water
Why the Orange Light can easily fly around on the rain without getting slowly drained?
And I wondered.. what it the orange flame is somewhat self sustaining itself by collecting warm from the surrounding ambient and thus being the reason the rain is too cold (I know it seems dumb, it's kind of the opposite of what heath does irl, instead of disperding itself, collecting itself 🙃
)
Yep, that's true...
Which is why most of my best writing ideas are posted in Cozy instead of lorechat! Lorechat simply isn't for the unintellectual thoughts
Lorechat simply isn't for the unintellectual thoughts
@compact shale are you sure about that
Lore chat is just that.
People talking about lore.
It does not have to be an academically structured thesis, with people to debate over.
I'm only using that rule for myself I cant' judge other people's messages in lorechat
...is this implying that some really stupid stuff has been said here and it's so bad that we can't talk about it here? Vela??
Lol, if anyone tries to bring it up, it would get censored
My poor, poor memes. Censored for valley hair crimes.
But yes, there has been situations in the past.
Here, there and most other channels on the sky server, and Discord server.
But yeah, point is, I personally prefer keeping the dumb thoughts out of lore chat just for the sake of it. Yes lorechat does overwhelm me sometimes and I try to keep up but it's kinda hard.
Honestly, I don't know why I still talk here. I'm not an analyzer and I don't have time to be one.
Using lore chat is just like playing sky. Lots and lots to learn at first but over time, you recognize the patterns and have seen most of it. till the fated days a new dev interview or trailer drops
yep
Anyways, AND WELCOME BACK TO….CHAT GOT KRILLED! I’M YA HOST, CHESCA AND TODAY’S CONTESTANT IS…. KAMIL!!
WITH A SCORE OF ‘I AM NOT COUNTING THAT’, THEY SCORE 2ND PLACE (woOOoWw.sfx)
Is the Little Prince's story canon to Sky?
😀💦
anyways, JUST A (I AM ALSO NOT COUNTING THAT) HOURS AWAY TO BEATING FIRST PLACE. BUT! will the next contestant be the next champion? FIND OUT MORE AT HE NEST EPISODE OF…CHAT GOT KRILLEDDD!
Are collabs ever canon? The commonly accepted lore is that there are parts of Starlight Desert that are not real (dream? hallucination?) but the desert itself does exist, it's getting a windpath so that place is definitely real but most of the contents might not be
I've seen and heard of thoughts/theories like that as well, which I find pretty nice. Also what does "Trealy" mean
I mean, no(t) really
Little Prince is not canon in Sky, but the area and spirits MIGHT be canon
wait that's an actual loreslang? geez, i need to catch up...
yall so smort shfhdfsn
But the fact that it's getting a windpath mostly proves that the place does exist to a degree
what, no it’s not a slang it’s just the cooldown is abnormally long so I just uh portray my message thru reactions
Ahh, I see, that's understandable XD Trealy also does sound like it could be a slang lol
And yeah, I personally like the idea that the place does exist, but in a way, the spirits or the visitors are most likely our skykids' dreams or imaginations
Just like from the original TLP book
I'd talk about my dream lantern theory though it doesn't have much evidence so probably not :/
Ye, I think so to
Well, the bault is an illusion theory can support ur dream lantern theory
There’s a lot of baseless theories here so dw :D
Well, I didn't connect that theory to this one because I don't know enough about it so it's still baseless and therefore not for lorechat :/
Hey yall know the 3 jars mural above the cave entrance in the area next to the butterfly fields to the left? What do yall think they mean?
Alright alright ok then...
Basically that glowing entrance to Starlight Desert is an exposed part of a large memory lantern holding a very large high-storage dream (probably 1-4 terabytes irl lol)
And when you stare into it long enough you fall asleep and enter the dream world
How and why the dream lantern was created is even more unhinged so I won't get into it unless you want me to
I just like to think the starlight desert is real, as attested by the arrival of a wind tunnel there very soon, but the more dreamlike buildings of the 5 spirits immediately in the vicinity when you enter are from memory lanterns. The shipwreck is real imo though.
I also like to think the spirits there are canon, you see the slouching soldier interact with
,
and
. In concept, they were also each associated with a realm; Ruler in isle, Star collector in prairie, Lamplighter in forest, Narcissist in valley, Soldier in wastelands and Geographer in vault.
Wait, the concept has them associated with a realm? Where?
On the recent TLP streams you can find concept art ! I will dig you something up.
@compact shale
ohhh!
Not lore about this one, but having a Candle Interaction with others is pure
Wish they fixed the
emote on switch, it's annoying that the emote still doesn't work after several months.
I absolutely love the little blobby concept skykids. they’re so cute
I second this, considering that the quote when entering it speaks about “dreamlike worlds colliding,” I think that the desert is a place where unreality is a little stronger, which allows itself to manifest in a very surreal way. Possibly it’s power is that it can manifest stories to experience firsthand. But the physical desert is real, as evidenced by the shipwrecks and ruins. I think that the stuff that’s much higher up in the clouds is all fantasy while the ground is more, well, grounded.
If we consider that Vault is an experience involving meditation to enter a “higher plane” and experience all of its dreamlike qualities, it would make sense to have an environment surrounding it with similar attributes. Along with the memory lanterns + power diamonds of course.
side note, is there always a cosmic manta in the desert? I swear sometimes it’s there and other days it isn’t, but it blends in pretty well too I guess. I spent a considerable amount of time one night trying to get high enough to ride on it
It appears when someone finishes the first little prince quest.
I wish it would always stay there, bjt alas.
The same can be said about the krill in the other desert.
That thing is out of bounds anyways, so why can't it be roaming there in the lonely corner of the season map?
It is a shame
I tried to fly over there so many times to get to the krill lol. I think that the stretch of desert leading to that area is really somber, with what look like some meager campgrounds and ruins sort of littering the way. It’s also, I personally think, the best view of Eden in the whole game
@half shadow doesn't matter if we are not in the same team, you're amazing just the way you are
Hey, krillbot.
You look a little bit like Pac-Man
what happened there? did someone try to give krillbot a mouth?
Heres a quick chart based off the idea light creatures grow and evolve into the bigger guys as they collect light mass or somethn.
OOO I like this one.
That looks awesome. I remember seeing something similar in the concepts, it's an interesting idea.
Welp this is concerning
I wonder if they can grow bigger than whales...
why?
is this a power diamond?
Ye I think
Some time some day, the whole map of a new season will just be the entire body of a light creature.
My question is whether it represents the original position of the Eden Diamond, relative to the Eden version of this meditation area.
Idk if anyone said this before but when I got krilled multiple times, I noticed that the winged light looked like a candle holder that could hold many candles
Also, when I accidentally made another account and just continued playing on the account, I tried to burn the darkness plants in isle when I have a few wing levels (around 2) but I couldn't burn them. There's even a message that I don't have enough wing level to burn them
the fates have said, there are members who wish to be totally a krill
you eat peas????? bots can eat? is skybot okay these days
Ahh, and so I wondered to how many players can make the light even bigger
Kinda wish there's something a bit more to do when we hold our candles up and create big light, especially how this emote isn't used much often
I remember ducksouppastry made a comic about an experiment if the high candle emote can shield them from krill attacks
Answer: no
@compact shale Only YOU can make Crab Team signature screeching noises

There should a be a feature added to when all 8 players do this.
I never have seen more than 3 do this.
it would be so cool if we had an event where we could actually talk to spirits and/or elders, and find out things that happend in their lifetimes for example or simple stories they have
popping in to ask a quick question,
can spirits fly? (aside from orbit )
//the ones with capes
They can fly on the backs of mantas but are never ever depicted flying without a boat/manta. Even the ones with capes. Also flight guide was waiting for someone with the ability to fly, when some of her team has capes too.
tbh its a little paradox since all the spirits are dead
when our skykid is dead(like after dying w/o being reborn) they dont have any winged light and cant fly either,so since spirits werent reborn and are basically corpses I dont think they can actually fly
Spirits do eventually give you winged light if you give them ascended candles; maybe it's like heart trades where they spend ascended candles in return ?
ooh yes.
Seeing them become more animated would be amazing.
Even out of game would be great.
not sure.
They could use boat and mantas.
Though that has not been one that was caught flying intentionally.
if the game had the chance to even start being a viral trend just like genshin did(even if it would die 3 months later),it would be amazing cuz many more artists would be interested and would prolly make fan animations or comics with voiceovers and so on
also the devs should at least give us some more info abt the lore cuz at this point mostly everyone sees it differently cuz no one actually knows whats going on
Agreed.
I wanted to make a short film based on the game once, but it is a pet project that is very slowly dying out.
tbh I understand, with such a small fanbase and most people concentrating on cosmetics theres nothing to actually motivate people
Is there any lore behind butterflies?
https://t.co/MTwCc8D91n
“iMovie整理してたら、以前蝶々の声をスロー再生すると子供の笑い声に聞こえるっていうツイートを見て自分も試したくてやってみたやつが出てきたので供養🙏 https://t.co/MTwCc8D91n”
Cosmetic is just that.
What I would more like is content that has an impact in the game.
Like the seasons themselves.
you have a big point there , the seasons could have so much potential to bring us informations about the lore but the devs just wasted the chances
like for ex each season guide could tell us things abt the spirits , the enchantment season guide could've told us what actually happend in wasteland or why the spirits cant be reborn anymore
not just emotes and cosmetics those dont help w nun
I dont think so,probably theyre just there just like krills or mantas
Any way they laughing on slow mo
It would also be nice to be informed before hand about prices of items.
Not just 'guess the TS!' and then get floored by the high candle price.
Sure it is easy to assume the prices would be high and a skykid can save up for it. But that only applies to players that play every day and not spend their candles on other things like standard spirits, shop items and 'friends'. That or poor real money into the game, for a cosmetic, on your phone.
Why should a skykid pay 26 season candles for a flight colour spell?
And the excuse of it being a high tier item is not good enough.
Same applies to a new banner item, that does not even have a matching back model.
A Rhythm banner stuffed into an Assembly backpack feels disrespectful to the former season and an excuse for the latter.
A few days ago i saw a twit posted on Japanese about last part of eden
||the part where you fly with other shiny kids towards the big star||
The theory was that you all are tap on your own risk ||sp€rm hurrying to the egg|| to ||start a new life||
Thats why they call eden ||original sin||
That does not make any sense. :/
Tbh uh, that’s kinda awkward cause all those yknow (baby making stuff) but cool
Then || orbit is a womb?|| And then you get born ||going through the white door||
this game is literally the definition of relative theres a painful ammount of options
Metaphorically, perhaps
Because they said its metaphorically a life road… the realms and stuff
they could be stages of sanity or growth of the skykids, like evolution psychically and psychologically
I personally think thats why vault of knowledge comes after wasteland, because the sky kid reached the last stage of grief, acceptance
I wrote this two times bc I erased it the first time brb crying
Certainly not literally at best, and a fallacy at worst.
we really need a quest in the game that actually is about our sky kid and the sky kid only, like where we could interact with their thoughts and/or give them an actual personslity based off the experiences we had in the realms+with the spirits
A whole season based around this idea could be kinda cool
thats called orbit
i dont think sky is one of those meta-lore games. We are the skykid, nothing like Kris vs the player in deltarune.
Good point
to be fair tho, it was just in concepts and even then it was more of a dreamlike state brought on by megabird, plus while megabird seems likely to be a sort of creature of the light we dont know that for sure (i would include being a god of light as a creature of light)
oh, and as someone with the thatskybot role, I can confirm that @pastel brook is the dev-caped kid. Oh and that the dev-caped kid is actually the sky prince /s

hi.. sorry.. does "lore" mean like "canon" as historical facts about Sky? If so can I ask something in this channel?
can sky kids bleed wax.
I mean, let's think about it. If they get a minor injury, COULD they bleed red wax?
personally, I like to think that wax is a sort of lesser light creature. Like our cells. Sky kids and spirits sheperd them to orbit and use them to trade for tthings so its mutually benificial. I think this partly because in orbit we see small clusters of light which look like when we give a candle to a spirit (buying a cosmetic) and the wax of a candle dissolves and flies to them.
If I could choose what would be canon about eden and gw itll be like this: The lost king of eden lost his parents/family/friends whateva due to a bad accident and he fell into deep depression. he became rude to everyone to the point the other elders kicked him into the wasteland, what used to be a desert. as a punishment for what hurt he has caused he was forced to build all the big pipes and buildings by himself , trying to create life in the desert. He worked hard day by day. but he didnt create what the other elders wanted. his depression, the darkness in his heart and beeing surrounded by the lifeless desert, the darkness consumed him. He created krills and evil creatures to get revenge on the elders. He felt so missunderstood. he was broken. Then the great war happened. Thats how golden wasteland was created and is the way it is now. many lifes were lost and both sides decided to come to a stop. The eden king took over what used to be the center of all light, the great place of life love and wisdom, and he turned it into the darkest cruelest place to have ever existed in the world of Sky. Light and darkness have seperated, they live in forever war against eachother, but none can win, because they need eachothers balance. Nobody knows where the darkness truly came from that consumed the young king, but all we know is, where light is, there is darkness. ☯️
Which dev-caped-kid there are multiple: there's anni door greeter (opens the constellation gate during the anni)(I also named them Elekani for no reason) there's promo kid who promos and opens the gate during Days of Mischief, and the anni sales kid handling the cakes and whatnot. Or is there another I'm not thinking of?
dev-CAPED-kid
the one who hints at the dev cape. alsoim pretty sure the other ones have the beta cape (the one who lets u into office is thesame as the one who hints at the dev cape in the shop)
Edited. But I always call them the party crew so
Alright so promo yeah. And I think during DoM they do, but I was there for the anni and they were still promoting the dev cape even though I have to be let in through the constellation gate, and the kid there says they have to go back out to let other skids in. During DoM they aren't in the corner so it's just my guess.
And what's the difference between beat cape and dev cape, I can't tell.
The beta cape has a white inside, the dev cape has a black inside. Also, on days when no events are happening in theoffice, the dev caped kid is still there.
oh and dev caped kid says see you in the party. so you could say that if they arent there, they may be still letting others in and if they are, they are probably done with that job and are in the party(not that this is how it works, just a way to fit the two things together easily).
Thx!
bad news, ive been having trouble since petit prince with game crashes, like in valley stadium, wasteland graveyard, and starlight desert. Since I havent been able to even finish the second to last petit quest cause of crashes, I have been waiting to do eden for after i finish that quest. well, since i've ran out of enough ascended candles, i decided to do an eden run, and guess what I learned? the sacrifice part of eye of eden, I crash in (if im not very careful with my camera). Now, I'm locked from even accessing anything else in the world of sky till i overcome these crashes and get through orbit... ;_;
i messaged tgc about it back in petit prince, since i wanted the sword pants, and we came to an agreement where they would give me the sword pants and take 200 candles without me having to do the quests (since i genuinly couldnt do them)
I know a lot of people have had similar issues
at least you got the pants...
yah, but now i cant play sky
I hope they get it fixed.
And I thought switch users where getting it rough with lack of controls while cutscene skip button is up, no menu clock, no way to move camera in shared space edits and flip button swapped to right trigger.
What names can I give the spirits from the little prince? I can’t keep calling them gloating narcissist/conceited man and such
Hm? What do you mean? Like an alternate title ?
also god thats terrible to hear, i hope things get working soon for you !!
They didn't really have names in the book either.
I like the book a lot, read it so many times
Sure go ahead
i think the desert part of the area is cannonly part of the map and i think its above vault, but i dont think the spirits are real since they were just another part of it
ooh imagine the next season map being on the back of a light whale and its under the ocean too.. and it slowly moves around and theres seaweed and fish of light... and cosmic manta live there... ooh imagine a cosmic manta see through cape too
i hope the next season is underwater based and that theres a spirit with the ability to swim straight downwards
i think its possible for creatures like krills and krabs to live underwater, because underwater its dark and they like darkness, right? what if most creatures of darkness live underwater. that would definiteky be interesting but if thats the case i hope there isnt an underwater season, im scared of krills
We see krills coming out of the water so they definitely can. Crabs tend to stay in the shallow end as far as we see but they can still go in I'm pretty sure, as long as it's dark water. not all water seems to be dark.
Compiled lore images for “Vault is projected memories from the memory lanterns” theory.
I really wish viewing some scattered memory cubes individually was part of vault. Like the feeling when your in a library and realize you could randomly open any book you touch and it would have a story in it.
your wish is my command
oh, just noticed, up top right is the spirit manta elder. How did i not notice that before?
I always joked that the Multimanta was a result of Lamed’s manta printer jamming up.
I wish for my game to not crash anymore, especially in the Eye of Eden
it would have had to jam up at least 3 times! And thats if we consider the manta that carries the diamond to the summit to be the larger one with the lanterns on its back (they are different models in game, there also are no small ones orbting the large one carrying the diamond)
@orchid jolt Only YOU can make the Manta Team fly higher!
MAKE MY GAME NOT CRASH IN EYE OF EDEN PLS!
The same shape is in the proph mural as one of the floatys orbiting princey. Top left of circle. Guess they went extinct or somethn.
isnt that a normal manta elder?
I haven't seen nor heard much theories about "Hermit Valley: Home of the Gentle Giant." Is the name simply a metaphor?
Its a little too long n a little to slim. More nudi branch less whale
yah but like, its head. the spirit manta elder would likely have a head like the other mantas, like that quad-winged one on the top right
@orchid jolt is it true you are... A SHADOW?
sky bot eats peas
I AM SOMEONE WHO CANT DO EDEN CAUSE OF GAME CRASHES
I think its a multimanta, but the inconsistency of the ancestors art is truly notable. @twilit blade Hes 1000% a real yeti and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
;-;
Oohh, I never had the idea that it was the Yeti spirit XD
some people theorize that larger spirits were mostly involved in battles. thus having to state "gentle"
iaminsomuchpainrn
Like actual giants I assume? I've also read some theories about that somewhere, having living and breathing giants in the Sky realms before everything went downhill. I like the giant concept a lot
Perhaps Yeti was one of the last ones?
He has axes on his wall. But Ashes quotes secretly indicate it might have been part of his backstory that he could juggle them, and they where not used for violence.
no, that would be an elder then. giants like larger spirits. the hermit isnt gigantic or whatever, but he is larger than most
hlepmepls
Hhhh and you can’t try on any other devices?
have u checked ur storage or wifi?
Good thing Yeti never accidentally chopped off their hand or something
no, dont have any others
and now im crashing right when i load in :D
The horn though-
Better broken horn than broken hand! :D
hey, wouldve been another coat for the Saluting Protecter
what the heck does that mean-
Saluting Protecter coat/cape
right... we have no idea what that cape is made of...
I think the dismiss cape is supposed to look like silk moth wings from the back. But imagine its wool. Imagine sky sheep.
Bearhug hermit
that... might be a little too squicky for Sky...
does..does that mean someone HUNTED him and made him into cape.
Well if you think about it, we can also get their entire pants
we have dead soldiers, people having to mourn their dead friends while trapped in a cave, kids that march straight to death on a weekly basis. i think wearing the dead skin of a fallen comrade/enemy is surprisingly tame for sky
Wait
did Bearhug and Dismiss even MEET?
uhhhh. probably? who knows
nah, its just a dumb theory i had when seeing gratitude cape. kinda thought, wait a second... that looks like... the bearhug hermit.........
The idea its based on poodle moth also explains the two orange notch thingies on the dismiss cape
bearhug hermit skinned??!?!? (REAL) (NOT CLICKBAIT)
Big eyes
Ah crap I forgot the entirely long cooldown XD
So the Dismiss cape is the true moth cape?
Maybe but thats not gonna stop myself from wanting 5 more moth species capes
true, if anything, the whole sheep-like thing makes more sense
So sheep for the Sky Kingdom are just giant fluffy moths
All the sheep just look like boxes.
I wanna see that but then again we've never seen it in concept art
Then again... we haven't seen any hints as to where Sky's fluff comes from
@hushed steeple the sheeps are aerated boxes that tumble around
That looks like a completely healthy sheep indeed
;^; cant ;-; do ;_; eden ;-; or ;~; anything ;-; else ;=; since ;-; i ;^; have ;-; to ;-; finish ;__; eden ;^; to ;-; regain ;=; access ;*; to the ;^; rest ;-; of ;^; sky
Where do you bug ? Could be that being the first or last to die makes you buggy
Trapped in eclipse?
my game crashes in valley stadium, wasteland graveyard, and starlight desert. been an issue since petit prince. i just learned learned this is a problem in the sacrifice part of eye of eden too
Oh my, better report it and maybee pray to Megabird?
Normally I'd direct you to the proper chats but if you need someone to die before or after you, we can see Sunday.
i did, tgc worked with me so i could get the sword suit since i couldnt do the seasonal quests. but its still an issue
O h m y
what kind of device is that? you might wanna get it checked
ignorance is bliss, at least you didn't see the last 2 quests
nah, i cant get past the first area. its not a matter of who dies when. i cant even use the return shrine without immediatly crashing anymore. so dying and hoping orbit doesnt crash is now out ofthe question
nah mate. I sawspoilers. even before the quests dropped, people used the immages in their thumbnails for beta videos. welp i gtg now. hope my skykid can die tommorow
Well, was it a good story?
Speaking of the last two TLP quests, ||the krill doesn't seem to be there anymore unless the quest is activated|| whoops
i have been trying to activly avoid spoilers
What does that have to do? Do you have a question about that prickly nope rope?
Jeez... Well I can't help you there, hope this issue is fixed soon.
Nah, not much really, but I did expect the overfried crustacean to stay in that area even after the quest/season finished
That nope rope has only one purpose. Its purpose is to stare at the prince and transmit telepathical wisdom to it.
And to hit us like a truck afterwards after getting inches close to it of course
Wonder why it's not blind like Ark noodle...
The one in ark being blind was apparently a bug. Im not so sure, I think it knows exactly when I plan to use it for the “get seen” quest so that it can go blind exactly at that time.
I’m just dropping this theory here:
So the prince, yaknow? And then u got the king, and in one concept I think it shows the princes silhouette inside the king, I can’t remember which one.
What if the King is the throne for the prince?
What if the king was a hollow shell and the prince was the vessel for it. To show that the prince fully accepts his role as king to rule the land of sky.
I also like to think the forest and elder lead the project of building the King thanks to their talents of building.
idk just a idea I had, I don’t dabble much in sky lore so apologies if this has been debunked or I clearly misinterpreted some stuff
I mean, in concepts art if u look closely, u see that the ‘eye’ of the King is prince-shaped
King is prolly a mecha suit
Definitely, it always confused me on how the prince grew THAT tall, would also make eden a lot sadder since the prince can never really leave the king, since they’re one of the same now
Wow
Question: During the dev streams, has anyone actually tried to ask the devs if anyone has come close to guessing the true canon of Sky? I know they make it vague on purpose but the 3 people who create the narratives surely know, so I wonder if anyone has come close to the actual narrative.
Has anyone tried asking it?
Idk, but now that you mention it….I should probably ask
Like I wanna know how far lorechat's gone, because we've shared many ideas
You know what they say about monkeys and typewriters...
Yea
Similar to another theory I heard of somewhere where the "King" is really simply a suit and the true King inside looks like or is as small as a sky child like one of us
Would explain what happens after you die in eden, and the fact that just a small child was running a Kingdom and ultimately lead it to destruction is just
Maybe that small child truly meant good intentions and just wanted to have fun and rule with his friends, only for it to go downhill because their dreams were crushed
Jk its not, I'm just a fan of "the villain is a harmless child" trope
I can Honestly see that, and I guess their thought proceeds was: if we advance then that means we’re doing great!…no consequences at all
So Alef was incompetent or something?
I would say they had good intentions but uh, it kinda backfired when everything started to slip from their control
Like they were made king for the reason, so the elders must’ve seen something in them to feel comfortable with letting Alef, a literal child, rule the lands.
Except that they were still a child who still needed proper guidance and time to grow to find their inner "king" 😔
Ever heard of the "Prophecy's trials are used to find a chosen one" theory?
That’s true
Ye I have: it’s funny in retrospect but also insane to me that because Alef passed the trails, he was automatically fit to rule as king, while not right after the trails but it was set in stone when they finished all 4
How does the "Resh and the Orb" mural fit in this theory?
I thought Resh and Alef were the same person?
Both are names for the Eden King
Ah I’m kinda unfamiliar with the orb one, again I’m kinda just getting into sky lore so there’s probably a few things I missed
afaik Resh is the king's name and Alef is the prince's name
To me they’re the same, Resh being a shell and Alef being the vessel was just a random theory that though would be cool
Edit: didn’t really flesh it out much, it’s mostly for drawing potential
Ah, that's interesting; From the concept art I've seen (I forgot which), the King had both of those concept names until they were removed. Perhaps to symbolize the two different beings/forces in one body
Yeah I think so too, I would love to fully pad out the: Resh being a shell and Alef being the vessel theory but I wanna double check a lot of other theories so it fits well
Someone bring Tac the lore moth doc
I know like snippets, Dark stone area and the light creature hunt and the war to go along with it is what I remember most
I'd be interested to see that too, if it really does exist XD There's only so much we can pick up since TGC hasn't released much new clues
O that’s super cool
tysm fruity
And here's a list of stuff Devs have said related to the lore! (still vague tho)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ZWJRGiJSrIXgDvJ4pST61moZbVB_hBExUjOaF-pmOE/edit

Aaa this helps a lot, will definitely help me grasp sky lore better
Oh yes, this is where the goods are
Thanks a bunch XD
"The world of Sky has a rich ecology of light and dark" Does this mean darkness is a natural part of the world and not created by ancestors?
Hmmm... for me, to some degree, yes. I don't think the ancestors CREATED the darkness, though I do think they abused it into the dangerous force it is.
You may have noticed that darkness is associated with black, blue, and red. I think blue represents a "docile" darkness, which is more closely connected to the natural darkness that is part of the ecosystem and is connected to the dark plants, which to some degree are natural (most Forest dark plants are natural, though the very large ones might have flourished due to the ancestor's pollution, seeing how they grow in dark water ponds) Docile darkness absorbs light gradually and doesn't take more than it needs, and it releases light when it dies.
Red is associated with the "hostile" darkness and the way that ancestors used it that turned it against them. This is also the color of a krill's eye targeting you, and said krill is a corrupted light creature. (most likely a Switch trailer creature whose flesh fell off during corruption) Hostile darkness takes light forcefully and wreaks havoc in the Sky kingdom this way.
Are crabs naturally dark, or are they also corrupted? I think there are crabs who are naturally dark and corrupted crabs, though as of now there isn't really a distinction between the two.
I think the Crabs are/were a neutral type considering its natural grey-ish color and if we're applying Sky's color rule here. In addition, I recently read on Sky's wiki that only crabs that emit dark particles are hostile
This implies there are peaceful crabs… crab pets in the future maybw
Yep true
Crabs are neutrality
Whether they're naturally dark or corrupted isn't exactly something that was answered tho
Though those with the dark particles might've been corrupted by walking in the wrong area
They got irradiated by darkness and got corrupted by it
Crabs are neutrality, skykids are hybrid
@lusty merlin Yes there's an island of friendly crabs in Sanctuary
O wow the more you know
Yeah! Those few crabs in the small island in Sanctuary don't emit any dark particles and simply roam around XD
And I agree with Fruity's idea that some crabs simply walked into the wrong places
Now I see a possible existence of a Mother Crab
Also it's implied that crabs have evolved.
In Switch, there's a kind of crab with more eyes and a tower-like structure on their backs
In graveyard, the crabs in the roast are bigger than the crabs that are still alive, and there's a real-life evolutionary phenomenon that explains it.
@compact shale hello beloved Krill!
Ooh, that's very interesting to know! Possible crabs that can carry buildings on their bare backs is really something.
Funnily enough, crabs are one of the few creatures that we don't see a before/after of. Because while we see the connection of birds-mantas-elders, you can't really do the same with dark plants-crabs-krills. Also I forgot to mention that the Wiki normally refers to them as "Dark Crabs" which implies that they have always been dark creatures
That’s prolly spidercrabs
(Spidercrabs, spider crabs)
Some are probably part of the natural dark/light ecosystem, while some got irradiated by darkness.
(why irradiated? Because in some ways, Wasteland and Eden are like a Chernobyl of darkness)
I refer crabs as part of the neutral kind as they (the normal, non-corrupted ones) don't really benefit nor harm the skykids. Birds and Mantas benefit the skykid positively by recharging their light energy and such, making them a natural group of the light ecosystem, whilst dark creatures deplete them
And that's true, GW and Eden received the bad hand of the corruptions the most
Thanks
Weong chat
Neutral vs hybrid
Neutrals have no potential in the balance, they can't change anything, so I'm sorry you're all cute but the neutral crabs have pretty much no role in the story
Hybrids have the opportunity to either help one side or restore the balance, which is what skykids are for and that's why they're the protagonists
TL;DR: The eye of eden is a prison in limbo that Alef and the fallen COL can’t quite escape from
Im also shortening children of light to COL for simplicity
In depth explication: Now that I read the doc, it got me thinking because of this section about “Resh not not being there in the same way elders are.” (Somewhat quoted)
Plus if I remember in a concept art involving a timeline: Resh had an enormous ark built to hold a civilization because at that point he basically messed up the land he was supposed to rule.
Some people think when that ark exploded, the diamond the powered the ark trapped Resh(and Alef cause i theorize they’re the same person), and the diamond became not only the eye of eden, but now I believe it became a prison of limbo for Alef
Like when sky kids go to orbit we have to hug the little skykid(who I’ll assume is Alef for this theory) and we gain our light and cape back to repeat the cycle. But like now I wonder why we repeat it and why it rests
Like what if Alef tried again and again to escape the eye of eden but just can’t for some reason. No matter how many statues we give light to, it always resets. Like are the old COL also trapped in eden and end up back where they started when we are reborn? like do we have something that the other COL and Alef don’t have that gives us the ability to be reborn when we reach Orbit?
I know the COL turn into ascended candles but I’m out of brain juice so idk how I would explain that, maybe I’m taking game mechanics to seriously also sorry if this doesn’t make sence
In your theory, I assume you believe that Alef/Resh is still alive, only that they can't escape the limbo because they have yet to atone to their mistakes?
Yeah pretty much
that’s mostly the takeaway of it
Who is talking to the skykid in the Isle cutscene? Who's telling them to "bring our spirits to the stars"?
who is it?
I see! I'm a bit slow sometimes so I tend to ask a bit of clarification, my apologies XD
But nonetheless, I think that is an interesting theory! From what I've read from other peoples' perspectives, majority seems to think that the Light kid before we reborn are still us/our spirit. But I like you take that the spirit is Alef
||I've heard a similar idea (sorry for recycling so much theories from this channel) except Alef was pretty much dead. And we and all the other Skykids are either remnants of Alef's spirit/memories or we are reincarnations.|| So I think your theory is up to scratch
Ha imagine if it’s alef (but seriously I got no clue)
Lol everything is now Alef XD
...What if we are Alef
What if everything is Ale-
Theres two modes to lore chat.
Something is noticed/announced
First side: ITS PRINCE ALEF!
Second side: ITS THE ORIGINAL FORM OF KRILLS!
Yeah it’s super interesting reading everyone takes on sky lore. After seriously getting into sky lore that was my first little theory I made of the light child at the end of eden being alef (and because I wanted to make an animatic of it but never got to
)
Even better: Alef is the original form of krills
That explains all the half krill king fanarts I been seeing
Ha imagine if if the reason krills attack sky kids is because alef doesn’t want to be saved /j
Alef is an angsty boi
Doesn’t believe he himself deserves a second chance.
Dang that’s sad
I've had a lot of interesting headcanons in Sky but most of them aren't based on analysis from lore so yea
Stuff like
-The future of Sky
-The Skater's imagination
-Skykids aren't truly free
-What are eclipses in Sky? What do they mean?
-Lightseekers/Enchantment/Prophecy light arcs
-Random spirit headcanons (none for alef sorry lol)
-Pre-storm Vault
Alef: I failed a kingdom, everyone is dead, why are u trying to save me? I don’t deserve it.
My sky-kid on their 24th something eden run: bro I just want acended candles for tall spell
Can you explain your headcanon on “Skykids aren’t truly free”? Sounds pretty interesting
Alef: “I wanted to be tall too.....once”
I'm quite interested in looking into the "Skykids aren't truly free" deeper
What if Alef (ALEF AGAIN?) is just playing with us and forcing us to Eden over and over, telling us we're free when we truly still aren't since the corruption still continues
Alef: Hehe endless cycle of death go brrrr
Or Megan isn’t as good as we think-
How did this become alef sad hours?
Edit: I gtg but I’ll be back, geyser starting soon
I seen a lot of rebirth cycle being caused by mega and also caused by king theories. I think the cycle aint just for skykids. Its supposed to be for spirits too. Just how life worked before everything went to hell. Now skykids are granted going back to the land just as a way to keep helping out and making friends and junk.
Wait who's Megan
Megabird
Holy spaghetti
We praise the holy spaghetti
Noooo
Mega is the holy spaghetti and Alef is the royal fork.
Basically skykids are created by Megabird and are bound to the purpose given to them, which is "Bring our spirits back to the stars"
I think the reason why we get reborn over and over again is because we haven't brought them all up
We keep getting distracted by each other, the world, the spirit's charms, etc. so we never get to finish our mission
So what happens if we do complete our mission?
We turn back to stars... and the kingdom is abandoned. It cannot be fully purified. Megabird has abandoned it.
Until we bring the spirits back to the stars, we have not fulfilled our purpose yet, so we stay in this world. We need to obey Megabird and stop being distracted.
We will never be able to coexist with the spirits, even if we want to. Even if some spirits are finally making an effort to interact with us.
But there is an alternative...
If we wait long enough, Megabird will keep using their stars to create skykids. After enough time, they will use their last star to create a skykid, their influence over us will disappear, their power will be distributed between all of us, and we will be unbound, with our purpose left to ourselves.
I can't say if Megabird truly trusts us or if they had no choice, but if enough skykids unite for the same cause, they can literally have godly power...
Oh my god wow 👏👏👏
One of the old parts of the timeline text (one of the only parts I think is still true to current game) is “Megabird blesses the land with a new race in hopes of reconnecting all life” skykids aint just here to die. There here to get life all connected and friendship happy rainbow stardust also.
What timeline text? is it canon?
Well I don't know about the timeline text, the whole theory is based on a line from the new Isle cutscene
Perhaps Skykids will be the ones considered as "Angels" who helped bring life back to the Kingdom for said new race
Ye
Not anymore it isnt. It was during the conception of the game. Can be found in...I want to say tom zhaos art pin....but theres a lot of clear differences from things in current game. Current elders have always been elders, but granted elemental power by prince in the trials. Old concept have him give normal ansestors magic stones to strait up turn them into elders.
Other things include a war with light creatures and an ark to escape an apocalypse. All im....honestly kinda glad where cut. Theres a doc with the clear text somewhere. Reading the actual image is ultra fuzzy.
What do you think, tho?
About?
the theory? the "skykid's aren't really free"?
I think the spirits are returned to the stars after they blast off at the end of the realm. Since they can come back down, from the sky. I think their life is about as free as life gets. Which depends on your wallet.
Oh, it’s a really interesting theory and it does seem like a possibility in my opinion
The theory's based on the Isle cutscene, along with a mix of some religious thoughts about purpose and Buddhist suffering
Ooo cool!
What I gathered and now theorize in the hour I’ve spent in this chat is
Alef is trapped In eden, ina limbo of sorts
They can’t leave eden because they can’t forgive themselves for all this mistakes they made
Is just a sad kid In General in my Fannon version of them now
So thank you lore chat, for make me get emotionally attached to a charter that we don’t even know if they’ve 100% appeared in the live game or not
Well, they are 100% canon
And there’s King Propaganda everywhere
Ah right, I forgot
think this is my sign to sleep and think of sad Alef even more
Ok now you’re making me sad
Thanks!! Hi everyone! I'm new on the channel and I'm a tlp moth but I'm really interested in knowing to background context of the game
Didn't even know what"lore" means sorry
I've always been interested in the writings in the walls
So my interest started f when I saw a mural in vault pointing something like an Eden figure... And also I can appreciate in the picture some like constellation like the ones we have for other realms
Want to see if someone can give any lore facts or something sorry haha
It's been creeping me out and I'm really interested
That’s the Eden Elder, or the King, also here’s a doc. If you want to know more about the King I can just type here

WHAAAT this is so amazing I want to know MOREEE
Hi lore chat! I went to isle today and relived the
spirit. Correct me if I'm wrong.. but they're saying no to mining right? The other spirit in the memory was holding a pickaxe.
Also, the among us looking mural is the isle elder i assume?
The only interpretation I've heard so far about that spirit is that they're saying no to using the pickaxe to vandalize the mural
I can't give my own opinion on it because I haven't seen that memory in a long time
Yes the sus mural is the Isle elder
Ah yeah that's true, only Forest has the assumed resources... but at the same time, I don't think pickaxes are used to vandalize cave murals (following real world logic I mean)
So /maybe/ they're already scouring for diamonds everywhere. Idk though haha.
Not sure if relevant but Sky Discord names it as "no thanks" haha
Sorry I couldn't help but cackle at the fact that the Isle Elder mural looks like among us
Hey guys any ideas what this could be? It looks like scratch marks to me... it seems so out of place for it to NOT have a story behind it. Would love to hear your hc's
P.s this is at the temple at the prairie
Out of all creatures available... I'm guessing crab? 🤔
Also here
Mmmm, kimg
do yall think theres an entire ancestor family tree? do the ancestors have ancestors too
Ye, I mean look at Belonging family and Skater’s mom and Skater and others
oh sadly nobody read it :(
There might be, but in general it's hard to trace family geneaology beyond Season of Belonging.
Ancestral relations are usually interpreted through any combination of these:
-Interactions in memories
-Shared hairstyles
-Similar masks (Assembly and Lightseekers theory)
It’s pretty dark, I like it
Yeah that happens to me a lot so I try to respond to messages if no one’s done so yet, sorry I didn’t see what you wrote earlier
Anyone have an idea which creature this would be? (Taken from Office)
not seasonal ancestors but the realm ancestors, unless theyre all in the same level somehow. but theres gotta be some significsnt change in history and origin. i feel like the ancestors were chosen for their position or theres heir line type of thing in each kingdom
The prince has a... Hand hat?
Well, basically what I just said. The only ways for us to determine familial ties is through their interactions in memories and hairstyles (ok, actually, hairstyles are used to determine if a background character is a spirit we've seen before)
Lol yea, the Prince doesn’t have one now tho
what's a hand hat?
Basically the hat looks like a hand XD
Oh. I've heard of a sentient handstaff but I've never heard of a hand hat ahahaha
man i seriously forgot what spirits are, so i guess each realm possibly had this monarchy type of system in each kingdom. but one thing concerns me is that the 6 ancestors are significantly bigger in size than most, its as if rhey werent 'human' in the first place, like a regular spirit would be
Ummm... I don't think there are any humans in Sky at all...
If there were then humans would most likely be a lesser species than Sky's Light and Dark race
And humans would not survive krill
atleast "human-like" atleast. one things for sure theyre a different species or something, the skids, spirits, dark and light creatures, and the big ancestor ppl
Ye
Question about that, since i saw "human world" in one of the concept art. I don't know what it means haha
It was something related to the life cycle I think
(No ping dw) here! What does "human world" pertain to here?
And how does it relate to the life cycle? Who are humans?
Here’s a pic I found
(The second pic is another depiction on the life cycle btw)
It seems like human souls travel to the Sky world where the Sky Kingdom acts like the 7 stages of death? ~~Wow I wanna be a skykid when I die
Wait no theres Krills. I dont wanna anymore
~~
That idea might have been in the concept art. Apparently Isle was originally going to be a city symbolizing the transition betweeen the real world and the Sky world.
Some people say it's like Weathering with You, though I have no idea what that movie is.
Oh, Weathering With You is a nice movie (I cried in it)
Okay out of the animals that we've seen appearing in the game, I initially thought it was a whale. But I completely forgot eels were a thing for a hot minute, and it seems to match that a lot better in terms of description
Either that or it's (aot spoiler) ||Eren Yaeger||
Edit: I forgot to add an image of an eel skeleton. But I'll do it once cool down is over.
||the office skeleton is the skeleton of some human named Eren?||
No-
Tho it could've been similar story the wasteland battlefield was against huge creatures
Random question: do you guys factor in the Season of the Little Prince when you theorize about the cotl lore, or not?
Some say that there's some part of the lore that can fit into Sky, some say that it's all a dream, some say that it's just a collab, nothing there is canon, 'tleast that's what I've heard
Personally I think that the glow in Starlight Desert is the glow of a giant dream lantern that makes you fall asleep, and it takes you into a dream encompassing nearly the whole kingdom
Starlight Desert IRL is what remains of an important part of Vault that was destroyed in the Storm. How important was it? Important enough to have a windpath devoted to it, I'm excited to see what Starlight Desert's true purpose is through its Flight Quest.
theres take aways thats for sure, tlp as a season is probably not canon but the place of where, how and why its there tells alot about vault's itself. how vault influences its effects and how it could manifest said effects
effects ranging from cosmic manta manifestations to whole projection of physical planes yet still being within it
Aren't cosmic mantas the spirits of dead mantas?
not quite, if that were the case then there would be cosmic mantas flying around everywhere, not only in vault
altho that still is a possibility. dead manta spirits existing yet only able to manifest in haunted places like vault
Huh... Vault's dreams are sure hard to interpret... they make you drunk in a way... dream drunk? Yeah...
problem is, theres barely known rules of sky that going through vault is like diving deep without prior training, makes u lost, and die of nitrogen narcosis
What is nitrogen narcosis and how
Partially.
I believe in the dark water = alcohol properly, and maybe our skykid losing light is a real world equivalent of sorts of our throat burning when trying alcohol (from what I hear)
I believe you see Eden because it's a representative of LP going to die early ahead, like foreshadowing of sorts(?)
So yes, partly
I think that if dark water was ingested via a skykid's orifice, it would touch our light core and cancel out our light, thus gradually erasing our memories and making us die a painfully slow death
by rules, i meant laws. wat makes something do wat it does, why it does that and how it does it. going at the lore, story wise kinda bores me cus it could easily be interpreted yet theres so many that theres no point
It's a lorist's existential crisis. Don't worry, it's normal and unsurprising considering how vague Sky is
Could those dark bits in pnr be solified dark water, which makes our Skykids die?
They're definitely dark particles, for sure. In another place, those dark particles could be spores from dark plants, but in Eden they're probably rock fragments.
its concentrated dark stones, same ones u see on the ground on the way up, how theres so many could be from the rubbles of eden castle when it blew up, maybe like how radiation can stick to surfaces
Well, with the opening being "Where dreamlike worlds collide", I'd assume they are only now connected so they didnt impact eachothers past/the lore but both were in existence
Well, with the fact that Starlight Desert will be getting a windpath, it's all but stated that it's real to some degree, and that Starlight Desert had a real purpose that warranted a need for a windpath there
Though it's possible that the Starlight desert windpath is just a gameplay thing (not that deep fam) and has no lore implications just like the fortune dragon
well.... we are only now opening that windpath. although the windpaths connected the reals long ago, that doesnt mean they cant make new connections
what’s the topic
oh right, that was another reason i didnt think the darkness was bad. (the dragon is seemingly made from power diamonds and gifts us with wax wrapped in darkness, like stars in a pitch-black night sky)
I haven't heard many discussions on how the windpaths are created, though someone in cozy said something like "5000000 birds flew and made the windpath better" so maybe if enough birds fly into something they erode the clouds into a windpath?
this headcanon has no evidence but I think there's a cyan light spell (cyan is the light associated with the element of air) that allows the creation of windpaths
It looks like a laser cutting into clouds
it makes logical sense, fans can blow fog so enough birds should be able to make enough wind power to clear a path through the clouds. oh and isnt that how forest and valley are connected?
I'd guess so, yes
Funny comic: Bird Drill Formation
The birds form a drill shape and drill into the clouds with comical drill sounds
hi lore chat...I just had a dream and I'm wondering if this is true?!!
there is a separate community/game call dark: children of the krill. and in lore the light (sky children of the light) and the dark fought in a war, leaving the land in ruins and that's why a lot of places look deserted (look like wasteland and isle). the elders had crabs as pets for all their water sources in the realm but during the war the crabs became tainted .
Oh sweet, you should do a fanfic !
crabs can become corruoted by darkness.
Though how this hapoened can either be an event from long ago, or over time from exposure to darkness.
Of the Dragons of Sky can become Dark Dragons (corrupted), then who is to say, other light creatures can also be affected.
That must have been a surreal dream of yours.
That’s some awesome dream
i get weird dreams about sky all the time, i wonder if it is trying to tell me something😳
You should write ur Sky dreams before u forget them
Has there been any OOB'ers able to reach the demolished castle?
I recall it being an image of a castle if you get close enough to see it (like Disneyland or any other OOB where you get close to the distant Eden castle).
Would it now be a physical terrain piece, or just a fragmented and broekn mess?
I have photos of them
Sadly in the new castle, you can’t stand on it
ah, please do!
That would be greatly appreciated.
Sadly the others have been deleted cause my storage is kinda full
I feel like it's gonna be like the GW butterflies again and we will be given a nonsense reason on why the castle will stay as is...
omg i miss the gw butterflies too
I miss the old castle too
Also, why the Eden did they remove the GW butterflies? I mean, lotsa people need it for recharging bruh
i think it happened after a patch and it's on accident since they didnt mention it in the blog iirc
also, i know krill have more relation to the gw elder but does it have correlation with the eden king? im trying to write all the dreams i had -and i cant remember if this was a dream or theory but the eden king had krills as guard dogs (like cerberus for the underworld)
Maybe
Most likely
was the prophecy guide a prophet themselves or what were they?
Thanks.
This is the castle you fly past on your way to orbit.
I meant the castle that got deleted or destroyed in the recent update.
hi someone can tell me if there are a story about golden wastland ?
The Golden wasteland is the industrial realm of Sky, a once successful region, that became a battlefield for a war.
The spirit memories shows them living hard lives. Stealthy survivor was avoiding krill, lookout spotted trouble and blew his horn as a signal, the saluting captain let his surviving crew leave in boats while he stayed behind, the fainting soldier succumbed to his wounds and a scared spirit was inside a collapsing temple.
The season of Enchantment gave insight to the spirits trying to survive in the wastelands, though shown to have struggles until the skykids came and helped the spirits (note this is when they are spirits, not while they were alive, which can be seen in their memories).
In old concept art, there could have been a massive dock for a ship the skykids could have explores, along with another part of the wastes with turrets that would fire at skykids, and the base of the eden mountain in the distance cutting through the clouds.
None of those concepts made it to the game. The turrets could possibly have been replaced with the krill patrolling the area, and the turrets (king propaganda statues included) were left inactive. Though is uncertain if any of the other concept art would make it into the game.
Hope this answers you question.
yes but im wondering why the water of golden wastland is poluted its because of these industrial things/temple ?
i would like to add that the broken temple in the beginning seemed to have waged war on the people of the second temple. You can see that there are different weapons (swords and spears), and that the war travels in a forward motion to the second/last temple area. I wonder what seemed to have caused the conflict there... also, when you climb up to eden, in the first room that has the single Winged Light, you can see a collection of the weapons used in the war of the wasteland, from both sides.
also yeah, i would like to believe that the pollution from the industrial piping contaminated the water there.
obviously the fact of poluted or corrupt area under cloud remind me an old rpg named skies of arcadia the whole world is made of cloud exactly like in sky
thats interesting, ive never heard of it! And i think the fact that there's very little sunlight made the area unable to heal its pollution (no vegetation, no animals able to live in the waters, no ecosystem, etc.)
@cursive fractal if you want i can show you on youtube what i mean about skies of arcadia can you tell me if i can give you a link ?
sure :)
i mean leave a link in this canal is ok ?
ohh, feel free to dm it to me if youre not sure
ok pm in that case
oh wow!! they really do feel similar. Especially when the ship in Skies if Arcadia is lowering below the clouds, its like when you fall to the sands in the golden wasteland! and you fall through the big cloud vortex.
Ok so this is probably annoying but as interested as I am in the whole war and King storyline I have absolutely no clue what is going on every time I enter this channel so could someone please give me a basic rundown of that whole giant chunk of lore? It'd be much appreciated
What are these... Packages??
Where is it exactly located the images of the mega krill horns?
Also these may help! These docs include the collected theories/confirmed details of the lore:

I read somewhere that some ppls hc about the little prince season vs their hc of the story of the prince of the actual game share parallels- e.g. the little prince= the prince of the game and each other adults/spirits= ancestors
I found something odd. Maye a vet can help with this.
At the very top of vault, where you are about to enter Eden or go home. For a short amount of time, there is a meditation circle, a small one.
If you kneel on the spot where it is, you can even hear the sound for meditation, though it is soft.
You don't have a lot of time to meditate there properly, since it appear just after you finish the cutscene and then disappears when the constellation shows up.
Meditating there does nothing as far as I can tell.
Hope someone might have answers for that.
Game glitch maybe?
possibly?
It feels like it could have been an old meditation spot from the beta, or an old quest that somehow became active again.
It got destroyed???
I'll send a picture, you can see it from any realm other than eden. And especially in the dawn cutscene.
It is likely a mistake and not lore, hopefully.
Or never mind, I already did.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I believe those are the jars that had butterflies like the prairie
The Eden update made it look more destroyed. Could either be a symbol of time passing or they changed the castle so that less phones would get destroyed by it. Kinda like how the old Light Awaits capes will never come back because they need more tech power.
True
Though those things MIGHT come back if a technological revolution happens and the majority use better devices that CAN handle it
We can only dream
Wait, does it still look whole/normal when we go in ||orbit?||
idk i dont have a comparison photo
Yes.
The castle you fly past to orbit is not the same asset as the one you see in the distance.
I digress from the castle being destroyed to save phones from crashing.
It has always been an important feature in the lore and plot of the game. It would not make sense for the devs to destroy the castle in purpose without an explanation.
It has not cause issues in the past. However, I feel bad for all new moths that see that castle in the distance and are confused since it no longer looks like a castle.
what does digress mean
disagree
Digress means to not agree with your point.
Instead of outright saying disagree, digress means that what I am talking about is going in a different direction than what you are saying.
This is the point where Ktjn descends onto lorechat to tell us that it's not that deep fam
Remember when I suggested Valley's buildings could have been partially held afloat by power diamonds ?
Exhibit A: the last stretch of the first map of the flying race. Notice the power diamond at the bottom of the platform, which shows they could hold up more than people and what they carry.
Exhibit B: no power diamond in sight, but it's wierd those towers are upside-down around the middle of the race. Perhaps the power diamonds got reversed or had a brief moment of malfunction, enough for the towers to tip over but not enough to complete their fall...
That would be an epic disaster to witness
I KNOW i want to see it so bad. Valley's destruction from the POV of a manta dodging crumbling buildings as it flies.
Yeah, something like how it went in Eden's ascend to orbit would be amazing.
At least make the 'race' part of the realm more interesting.
you should focus on beating my speed record at the races
Wym ? Do you want more details on them ? Honestly that's two of the areas where I'd believe the devs when they say they couldn't get more details because it's a mobile game...
In parts it sometimes seems like they realized how boring parts of the game were and thats why assembly dreams and flight are granting us many many shortcuts to go around the parts I dont like.
working on it. lol.
no, just something that makes the track more interesting.
A moving element like a whole building ought to do the trick.
Prophecy mural actually strait up depicts that valleys building float due to twins being granted the air element.
Really ? They looked like the loops at the beginning of the flight race to me, which are admittedly lifted by power diamonds but arguably lighter than a building.
Oh I get you ! Like the tower crushed by the fish in Eden !
Could be the loops. I feel like more than valley has floaty buildings too. But the floaty buildings in valley for sure. And absolutely including the race and race gates.
Huh! Its a building, gates, and surprise! Its also in the twins boats!
oh look at that, even the boat is split in 2.
Vally twin: “I want my own
boat”
Tasdi: -chops the boat in half- “there you go”
I guess they got the opposite ending with the tale of King Solomon.
EDIT: Raider was faster oml
No the twist is they where both crying over the boa-ITS LEGOS?!?
Family Friendly™️
Lego fans are mad. Nothing left unlegoed
Would that also tie in to how the city is split in 2?
With the dream village being disconnected from the citadel.
Lets hope they don’t fight over whos the favorite twin of the skater girl.
- Yes. Best plot twist. (Meanwhile some craftsperson in the background also crying over the broken boat they spent so long on)
- I love that you said legos.
Is the plural of lego not legos? 🤯
Wait I guess its just lego.
Like deer.
It's technically Lego bricks because Lego is the brand but calling them legos is better.
off topic but new emoji confirms the rabbit is in fact mochi
Nom nom
meditating there actually brings up the constellation. I assume its just a leftover of light awaits
That's pretty cool :0
I didnt know whether to ask this in #questions-and-help or here so I'm going to ask here:
Do any of the Sky elders have names? I've been wondering for a while now, I dont think they have names but I'm just curious.
They have non-canon names that were part of the concept art but were scrapped, but mentioning them triggers a special message from thatskybot because they're not canon and not everyone knows what those names mean
the official name is [Realm] Elder (Prairie Elder, Forest Elder, ETC.)
But if you want to know the old names, here they are
Isle Elder: Daleth
Prairie Elder: Ayin
Forest Elder: Teth
Valley Elder: Samekh (sometimes, the spiky-haired twin is referred to as Sah and the bob-cut twin is referred to as Mekh, Samekh was apparently the name for both)
Wasteland Elder: Tsadi
Vault Elder: Lamed
Eden Elder/king: Resh
Prince: Alef
The names have Hebrew origin though I don't know much about them
Thank you!
If the king has a son....
Where's his wife?
I-
I believe Spirits/Elders canonically have no gender
I personally always theorized that the king's "wife" could've been the statue at home, but thats just a theory with no evidence
Monica?
I don't know why i just thought of the ||light ||
Nobody:
The King: ah yes this is my wife, the light
my mind just went to that

The King's (stone) wife is the one sending us to quests all along
Maybe she sends us on quests to save the fallen kingdom?
The call?
I'd appreciate if Monica doesn't send us the Don't Go spirit again
Pleading parent would like to have a word
Imagine ||go to eden || quest
||They are the same spirit
||
I didnt know, sorry
Why do i imagine the statue finding joy in giving us difficult tasks
Statue: Finally, they suffer instead of robbing me of seasonal candles
What if the Home QG getting replaced by a stone proves that the robot uprising is a thing in Sky too?
For all we know the return shrine is powered by darkstone tech
Poor Home QG... is this a break or a termination?
edit: this is mostly a joke just like the rest of the recent messages
lets hope Questgiver is enjoying a break and when he returns he just moves the statue and replaces it like it replaced them
Maybe QG is getting a big hot makeover and will be back for New Year's
Plot twist: QG is the one behind the new year's party
I miss the quest giver, whenever I go to receive candles for my dailies I always run over to QG before the claiming animation begins so that it feels like they're still the one giving them
Yes, I believe it was before Eden opened and before you see constellation table there.
What I assumed is that the spirits would meditate in general to go to Eden, but then we got a more direct entrance.
What IS the Eden pilgrimage?
“King” in Sky universe doesn’t necessarily mean male. It seems to just be a title while the spirits themselves are without gender
I may or may not have heard theories about a pilgrimage Ancestors take involving Eden, but what exactly WAS it? and WHY do they do it?
I'm pretty sure king is a gender mutual term
Not sure though!
It’s historically masculine, though modern day less so
It's partially based off the concept art where you see creatures being born in the four corners of the kingdom and migrating toward Eden to ascend to megabird, before being reborn back in the kingdom. In live, you can see how all the birds and mantas go roughly the same way, it's possible that what you follow until the beginning of Wastelands is their migration route.
There's a few hints the ancestors themselves could have partaken in that pilgrimage, but admittedly it's 4am so I'm not looking for them right now. I do want to point out you see the spirits in orbit.
Ohhhh
So the ancestors take the pilgrimage when they become old?
Each realm is based off a stage of life, perhaps back when they were still nomadic and didn't have a home in the clouds, it was the kind of migration that took a lifetime to complete.
Huh, interesting...
I guess when they settled they didn't do the pilgrimage that much...
though I do wonder if offerings to Megabird were made
Well, everyone in Sky has no gender
Funny how Megabird Martha is just literally a Light Noodle that's travelling across the galaxy like a blanket flowing aimlessly on a river
been a while since ive been in this chat, whats the prevailing theory on megabird now
The pilgrimage of rebirth and megabird
I have a theory about them too, I can tell you if you want
i am here to listen
Ok, it's not purely about Megabird, but yeah
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Clarifications on the theory:
||-It contains the assumption that Megabird is the one talking to us during the Isle cutscene.
-I didn't look at any concept art when I was making this theory.
-In this theory, Megabird wants the spirits to continue the journey and ascend and they believe it's what's best of the spirits, but they're so hellbent on it that they don't want the skykids to do anything else
-They're not going to directly harm the skykids
-They believe that the kingdom is a lost cause because of the corruption and when they do get the spirits back they'll either stay and atone for their sins or be reincarnated into a different place (i.e not the kingdom)||
@compact shale is it true you are... A KRILL?
that is an incredibly interesting theory :0 i say it makes sense too because near the end of the game ||in eden when youve lost your last bit of winged light and are crawling towards that diamond thing it really feels like youre being forced to always get just short of the goal there ||
|| itd be a really cool concept if during the final sky update we can actually go towards the diamond and like. fully reset everything about our skykid ||
what are the thoughts on winged light and the glowy children?
hi bros this is just out of pure curiosity how do krill reproduce?
- Light creatures are thought to be born of the light/Megabird, there's concept art about it
- CAN corrupted creatures reproduce? The "krills are corrupted" theory is dev-confirmed
IT IS??? WHATTTT
(replied to wrong thing LOL)
(this slowmode is atrocious btw)
youd think that corrupted creatures reproduce by corrupting regular creatures of light yeah
okay so they are corrupted? when was this confirmed omg im upset that i missed this
do u have evidence of the devs confirming the theory?
It was when devs were answering questions from players for the 2nd Anniversary
It was Jenova himself who said they were corrupted, and hinted the possibility of their original form being revealed later down the line
YESSSSSSSSSS WOOOOO I LOVE YOU JENOVA
(No ping dw) here's what some people think krills were before corruption
It looks like those "krills" pre-corruption have some sort of armor/hard scales on? Maybe but my eyes may be deceiving me lol
I also enjoy the thought of a non-corrupted krill's light can recharge skykids' wings or make them float when inside the vicinity of the spot light
UFO kidnapping without the kidnapping
Good news ||Finally finished it... Orbit also made me crash, so I had to take a unique route through the castle||
They should put you in a world record book for that, how are you still playing 💀
Same way I did back when they added blindness to the game (it was a bug) sheer determination (cringe Undertale reference) ( when I was blind I just had others give me crs, I'm not sure how I actually pushed through the crashes and kept going maybe I'm too stubborn?)
I high key think its the cosmic-manta like creature in the switch trailer
Dis!!! It has very similar features to our krill Bois. Also the source is from this this trailer. If you go 30 seconds in:

Hello!
Em.. How do I ask for this hwkehdjd
Ok umm
I'm new in the sky community (not in the game tho) and I want to know about the lore
But I don't want to be an annoyance by asking, idk jqkehejhe I have insecurities sorry
So, if someone feels like helping I'll be really happy
Thanks for your attention, have a great Halloween!!
You're amazing, thank you very much
...I do wish Bricky had a crash course lore doc for seasonal lore... :3
That makes me wonder, do we actually get to see what Krill look like in the light? Or am I remembering things wrong LOL
Light as in, broad daylight
The more I think about the more yikes they must look 😬
Well, there is a way to do it but you have to do it when Days of Mischief ends so that you can see it "in broad daylight"
||Go to Office and find a toilet overgrown with dark plants. Burn the plants and a krill will come out. Stay with me here ok? If you wait long enough you'll see the krill will fly outside Office and since the sky is bright there most days you'll be able to see the krill in the light.||
OOOF NICE I didn't know that. Also did they look any different or were they still black blobs?
Also as you said, there were decaying, || does that mean those bits and bobs falling off of them, would be uh their skin and body parts?||
||I don't know, never tried it but it should work. Though I doubt it would look that different, you might be able to notice that the krill has dark particles flaking off it.||
As for your question about decaying, who knows? Though it's more likely the flesh rotted off completely and those particles are the dark dust falling off them.
Yikes! The more I think about it the more it makes sense!!! Thank you for baring with my silly and pedantic questions hahaha

baka
Eden Elder exists? Ye or nae
Ye
Ye
Where
Aye so... Sarelia. Thoughts?
We assume this mostly due to the imagery. The halo around the upper broken castle floating and the light halo make the king mask symbol etc. This is all based off old concept art
Well, can’t be saved but there’s King Propaganda
I think someone also said that the figure is key to sky and seen throughout without an explicit role but idk where that old quote is. I think it's in the lore doc
So are the realm elders just like mayors or people who are chosen because of their strength to watch over their home realms while the king is on holiday?
If he's a king then I'd consider the other elders as more like lords/vassals
Ye, I see Elders like Dukes/Duchess or smthn
But what happened to the king tho? Is he even in the castle we see coming to orbit or is he somewhere else? Is he even a spirit, man of light, normal person?
YEAHHH KING WHERE
Both from Canon lore doc
King is prolly the first skid (according to theories)
A generally accepted theory is that the king got corrupted by power and something happened with the giant red power diamond in eden. He was probably destroyed during the apocalyptic event that wiped out life and let darkness spread
I think the king has been overwhelmed by darkness and started eden
silly slow mode :(
Ye, slowmode sucks
For power ofc (or maybe)
Why did the king get greedy tho?
Whos the lil sky kid beside the big one ere tho? The son of the king?
The king wanted more power, another theory is that power diamonds (as seen in doors) are harnessed from light creatures or mined from light stone. Either way the natural world was torn apart to aid sky-huamity and eneded in ruin. He over exploited the world
Anyway. I think the king was experimenting with darkness, red crystals. Tearing away the light from crabs like lab monkeys. He then makes a powerful red crystal, dark influence so strong it spreads to others and infects them. Just like em movies, the crystal turns to its creator and destroys him. Continues spreading its darkness all over
And about the orgin of krill-
Designed to find light creatures or stone to create diamonds is my guess
I think theyre dark versions of the whale
. Just smaller and scarier...
WHO DESIGNED THAT..I MEAN IN THE KINGDOM ..HOW DID IT GET CREATED THE KING MADE IT?
Nobody knows who the ancestor/kid is lmao
Prince and King might be separate or the same entity (u interpreted it, rlly)
Krills are corrupted beings, dunno which but I bet it’s Nintendo creature
That's a popular one too, some people think they are a corrupted whale/large mantas
That I'm not quite sure, but as we saw in vault they do have mystical capabilities as technology improved and the crew of the ark all did magic so maybe through that
No ig we can see that they shed DARK THINGY from them..it has sm
.so it might not be a corrupted one..mantas doesn't have BLUE LIGHT
Wat, krills r confirmed to be corrupted
Ohh if u mean how, well prolly due to diamonds or ye they were experimented
Ye I'm just not sure how they were corrupted
Remember my long theory bout the king starting eden? I think whales used to inhabit eden, a hotspot of whales... The diamond fell down to eden and became more powerful, corrupting lots of whales, killing others.... Think about it. Eden is so vast and big, great place to fly around. Whales fly in the Sky universe.
I think they like driving lore people crazy
Ye, if they drop 1 lore crumb, chat’s gonna be crazy
Well uh, after skid’s sacrifice themselves. Nothing changed aside from ancestors ascending, but that’s it
I wonder what if we have a season about the orgin of krill ,was they were corrupted, origin of WASTELAND ..and how the king got greedy what made him greedy..and what happened to sky after the sky kids sacrificed themself in eden
How does it feel to have a season about it
That would be amazing, but im not sure we would get a season. What I'm hoping for is a prequel PC game
And Eden sounds like a name for a safe haven, a sanctuary of peace. Whales inhabit sanctuary because of how peaceful it is.
Ye, Eden prolly was one big Sanctuary until ye
Now lets talk about our little sky moth <3
Eden does look like a HUGE LABORATORY CASTLE
The chosen one ✨
What are the Elder’s concept names
Personally I like the idea of the Prince and King being the same person; I think the Season of Prophecy mural tells the story about how the prince became the king, and went thru the trials
I know they both have different concept names. But it could signify a change in their character
I STILL WONDER WHO THE SMOL SKYKID FROM THAT TRAILER..most prolly there was a prince
Well, they’re prolly a kid ancestor but ye
I do think theres a law where if a prince becomes king, they must chnage their name to yaknow.... Smthn like "Gharidgon" or whatever the honk the name is
A theory that I subscribe to is that we are the king, and are reincarnations or golems made in oder to atone and clean up our mess
since sky is an allegory for pollution and greed irl
AND WHY THE HELL THE FOREST MAMA IS THIS DEPRESSED..
Omg but what if the kid is actually the prince on their way to the cave of prophecy to go undertake the trials ???
Coz that's the Isle, and the cave of prophecy isn't too far away from that area
Because Forest is supposed to represent teen (and yknow)
Forest elder is forever in sad girl autumn
Why should he take the trails?
But our main mission is to stop the darkness. The game doesnt even say that there is such thing as the 4 trials.
Because the person who’s able to overcome becomes the King
Forest stays the same?
Teen what..
Anyway..WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FOREST ONCE WE MEDITATE IN THE TEMPLE
Slowmode suckss fr
Oh shoot I have to sneep snorp
nice chatting humans, don't fall for king propaganda (/j)
Ppls who have finished all 4 trials and is still a puny little mof
Okay I've read that maybe the reason why forest mama is sad and always crying is bc she was crying for her people being over worked. If you look at the spirits in this area, you see the memories start off with the spirits having fun and games and eventually giving into darkness e.g. hunting species into extinction, chopping down too many trees etc.
Why the water is toxic tho😔
I read a theor it said its bcuz of the greedy hands of the king that caused all these ukuk..n she was never the same again
I think there's definitely a link between her and the king
Hence why the water toxic. Plus they were mining for those diamond thingies
Lets ask this. Why was there a war in GW, was there even a war? Then why are there so many honking battle soldiers and battle flags all over gw and eden. Fighting the darkness maybe? Stopping the king because they knew his experiments? Or are these areas just simply heavily guarded with said soldiers?
YEAHHHHHHHH..ROYAL FAMILY BAD BADDDDDD .i mean-
A WAR IN GW?
Defs things its fighting against the darkness. Maybe there was resistance against the king; bc if you look at the shields one has the sign of the megabirb sun/star thing vs diamond which represents the king
Civil war prolly
Two shields theory says that there was a civil war between people that supports the making of diamonds and the people that opposes it
MAYBE THEY ARE SOME SKY PEOPLE WHO TURNED INTO STATUES..OR GW WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR PRACTICING FIGHTING AND STUFFSS
Or were they heavily guarded by soldiers so no one finds about the experiments the king has made? Like some crazy secret surprise for the ppls?
And about the hugeas$ ship in gw-
Gw has lots of waters in the area. Makes sense for it to have lotta ships innit? hoenn region pokemon crossover maybe?
Might be linked for forgotten arc
I see lorechat's busy? What's lorin'?
Makes sense..but still boats are acceptable..but ship in the sense..they place didn't really look like a place where the land the ship..no measures were taken ..MAYBE THE FOREIGN KINGDOM PPL CAME ERE TO TALK/TRADE..MAYBE IT WAS THEIR IDEA TO CREATE THE RED STONES
Why was it named as FORGOTTON ARK?? BCUZ KRILLS FORGOT TO ATTACK IT?
But why was there an ark? Were they just transporting something? Was it a cruise? Or is it something to hand to the king for his experiments
I think it was a traveling merchant ship, selling goods
The ark was supposed to transport the colored lights somewhere, but its voyage was untimely ended by a lightning strike (not by a krill, this is debunked by the murals on it after completing the Enchantment Quest Arc)
As for where, I have no idea
Makes sense since when you finish the quests in the ark, it becomes a shop where you can get spells and all the good stuff. Maybe spirits were using spells too? Or were the spells used by the king?
Hmm, the ark of colored lights is one of the Sky elements with the most theory potential, I have things to say about it but alas, they're quite baseless
But please, do share them! Might come up with smthn using some of em thoughts of yours!
Quick warning: long and also involves Lightseeker and Prophecy
Fruity's Manifesto of Light part 1: A Convoluted Headcanon about how Colored Lights Work
In Sky, light absorbs properties depending on where it shines. Scattered light doesn't have much power, but when concentrated into a larger orb, it can be wielded with the right actions.
Lightseekers specialized in the gathering of light. Through special songs, dances, or crab servants, they allow scattered light to converge into a single point, creating powerful light spheres. Through some happy accidents, they discovered that there was more than one color of light, and that each color had its own use. The light they collected was shipped to different places depending on its color, with the purest yellow and white lights going to the king himself, Resh.
The Prophets took quite an interest in some of the colored lights. They could not gather those lights themselves, but they could use its power in its concentrated form. They obtained some orbs from the Lightseekers, and each mastered one light's power. However, as they got more attached to the light's power, they became compelled by it. In delirious-seeming trances, they painted murals on the walls of their caves, which they soon realized came together into a prophecy that eventually, a Bringer of Light would have to sacrifice themselves at a mountain... but for what? When? The Prophets decided to create the trials in the hopes of finding this destined Bringer of Light.
No one really knows for sure if the Prophets found what they were looking for, but as it turns out, Resh was gathering pure light for a secret project of his own. In the public's eyes, he was preparing an ultimate offering to Megabird to obtain a blessing for the Kingdom, but not many realized that this was a lie.
Part 2 is going to be in another message and it will feature Enchantment! :3
First of all... Resh is a nice name
Second, so thats why crabs are so mad to people, they were servants!
Third. Whats a megabird
@compact shale Only YOU can lift other players with Team Butterfly
All this lore stuff is hurting my brain. Im gonna go honk on some random players now
See you later!
Hi hi! Just wondering why assembly spirits have black masks? Or is that not important to lore? Haha. Haven't done assembly quests yet btw!
The markings on the Assembly masks are used in a theory that the Assembly children are children of/related to the Lightseekers. As for the mask color themselves, I don't believe that has any particular lore significance.
Ohh :0 I'm not aware of Lightseeker lore, is that in the lore docs?
Alright thanks! I was thinking it was related to the fact that it's the same color as sky kids' skin. But then that won't mean anything I guess
AFAIK the loredocs don't cover seasonal lore yet ||even though they should||
I didn't come up with the Assembly/Lightseeker family tree theory so you might wanna use Discord's find message function for that
If anything, I think only the other black mask with markings there is is the ult gift from Rhythm? But like Fruity said I dont think masks have anything to do with lore
Aw what a shame :(( Guess it's time to do some digging
thanks!
Ah speaking of... do ancestors actually wear masks? Or do they use pigment on their skin? (Since we've seen paint existing in Flight map!) At least those that have color, like crab call ig. Of course, more intricate masks like the prophets are real masks for sure haha.
I read here before that sky kids innocently try to mimic spirits (e.g. the dying soldier is just play dead to us). Maybe our masks is how we try to be like them even though we're just golems.
Wait, paint exists in Flight? Where?
Here!
As for skykids wanting to be like the spirits, yes I do think that's how it happens
Though the childlike innocence could explain where the Assembly kids got their masks
If the Lightseeker/Assembly Family theory is true, then the parents must've taught them to make the mask while they were young and didn't fully understand the concept of left and right yet (generally mastered by 5-6 yrs old)
Heya heya
Hey guys, I'm new here and I had read a little lore and when I was having my boring music lesson, I suddebly think a lore or what ever, Idk if it repeated anyone's. The prince/king and other elders worship megabird, prince/king wanted to help evey spirit that he accidentally found dark stones or diamonds and he started to become greedy that he started to develop more and betrayed megabird(a bit like stories in bible) the prince/king told the other elders to develop as much as they can, which has an incident for the tearful miner. The megabird found out and turned every spirit into stone status and lock the elders into an alter in their own temple for the consequences of destroying the world. Before they die, the spirits kept their memories whch they think it is the happiest or saddest for the sky kids. For elders, they gave sky kids how to use the flame properly. The king/prince locked in a chamber or something in eden like you said and i guess the red rain stone might be it's tears or corrupted pieces of the king/prince if sky kids touched it they will lost their lights.(I did not read any things or images about any lore. I think it with my imaginations. Idk if it is right or wrong.) sorry if my english is bad
Lets theorize about our little Sky Moth! I'll go first
Our SkyKid is a child of light, meaning they're made of light. While they do illuminate dark areas and keep their candles lit, they dont have much use without Winged Light. Why is that? Winged light is scattered throughout the Sky world, supplying our little Moth with wings or Cape Energy. But lets talk about Winged Light first. What are these Winged Light that we see? Were they the previous Children of The Light before they ascended and not overwhelmed by The Darkness? Or are they something else...?
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
First of all we start off as capeless. Not until we encounter our first ever Star. We claim this Star's light and have it transformed into our cape, allowing us to fly with it. But what happens when we claim their light? Well ofc they disappear... But where? (Ye I'll leave it up to you to think if it...)
We never really see Winged Light in the murals seen in the game. Theyre just little people (which are probably spirits now) having a good time. Maybe these murals were made before The Darkness corrupted and ruined every Light creature they could find. As the game says, they lost their light. Maybe we were made from the last stars (or their light) in order to stop The Darkness and save everyone and everything that has been corrupted by it. But many have failed (like 64 or more ppls failed) and have been turned into either Winged Light or the statues that we see in Eden's PNR. This can be supported by when we finish Eden and we die and turn into one of the many statues we have given our Light to... Our Winged Light. Maybe we ourselves were made by Winged Light and the Light they have lost was the Winged Light
Its either that the Winged Light ascends with its brethren or ascends back to the stars in order for the spirits which called upon us, to be a "ready to be made Moth". Who knows?
All we know is that the devs said that the winged light are NOT stars.
Ok clarification: They meant that constellations aren't made of winged light. Whoopsies.
By Stars I meant winged light. Just another name I call them
Ah, I see...
I guess the winged light does ascend with its brethren, though I would like to know more about them... who put them there? Who else is aware of them (aside from skykids) How important are they?
Has anyone wondered why at the top of Vault, if the constellations are artificial?
Obviously they cannot be the real things. I meant if the constellations were put there as decoration for the throne room, since their 'stars' are floating power diamonds.
Also, there seems to be red specs floating high up above the thrones.
I wonder if the dark power of the storm is corrupting the magic.
Red in sky, after all, is associated with power as seen in valley of triumph's red and blue flags, and danger as seen from the angered krill and red rocks.
I actually assumed the red specs were there to help you replenished your wings. Because I've seen them throughout the levels of the Vault. They kind of resemble candle sparks/the shinies you collect from candles to fill up the meter
I think the vault was a place where the elders met. This is my own HC
Oh those are ok. When you are at the very top, you see full red specs, not the sparkly dots at the bottom.
Elder Council Meeting Room, for important elder discussions
yep, that seems plausible, those certainly look like thrones
OHHHH RIGHT I gotchu now. Yes I definitely think it has to do with some of the dark power.
Btw that reminds m: I read somewhere that the meeting room when you first ascend in the Vault (4 person puzzle) was where the elders would have had to meet. Some believe it's where they met to overthrow the king, whilst others believe it's where they met and one of them prophecised that the king would be evil. if you look closely one of the chairs have fallen to the side.
Mb they met in there before they met with the king at the top lvl
Also I forget which mural or image I saw that shows this but it depicted Tsadi as the one who ||killed the king||
yeah, there is one thing to consider.
There are 6 chairs, right?
So, do the twins share a seat, or do each of them get one?
Because, if the king were there too, he wont have a seat.
That and come to think of it, the king is supposedly larger than the elders, how would he fit in?
Or, what else would be large enough to use the table and chair, that is not an elder??
The prince would have been okay in size? Mb he was regular elder size after he passed the trials and got powerful then got even bigger?
The twins probably share a seat that is juuust big enough for them (no one's sitting on top of each other here)
As for the king... can someone send me a pic of that place in Vault? IDK where they'd fit
Yeah I kinda forgot what it looks like. I haven't been in there today xd
Also the 4 people puzzle room as well in the 1st lvl (not ground lvl) I'm going to see if I can find it online
Wait we're talking about the 4player room too?
I thought we talking about either the top lvl or the 4player room xd
Oh. We're talking about the Vault's summit, the top where you can see what appears to be elder thrones. We're thinking it was sort of a meeting/council area
Oh yeyeye!!! I'll try and sus out a pic of that too.
4 player room seems like they were mb conspiring against the king seeing as there's I think 6 chairs there only
The elders conspiring against King as they gradually realize what's wrong with their actions... I really like the idea of elders going against the king and I've written about it, where most of the elders know about as much about the King's plan as the civilians (almost nothing but unlike the civilians, they get a bit more inside info) and Lamed realizes it when the Vault scholars come with the evidence of King's intentions and they ask Lamed about it
Oh, I see!
you got a front angle too?
OKAY but I remember reading that Lamed was supposedly Oracle-like what if they sat in the middle and idk projected images and stuff seeing as the throne is right in the middle and under the diamond? This is like a wild guess
Also looking at these they have very particular images clearly representing each elder
wait, lemme get my pics too, I just remembered that I have those
You are not wrong. The vault elder used to be called Lamed in concept art, and in the old lore, she was an oracle.
The top floor would have been a room with a diamond used to make projections of the king and the giant creature he is fighting.
Middle one is 100% Lamed. You can see all the details which seemingly represent each elder.
E.g. battle worn Tsadi, split in the middle but somewhat symmetrical- the twins, I'm assuming Teth there, and the other two (I forgot their names im sorry)
Yeah, I think they projected stuff, like the presenter of a corporate meeting using the projector to show stats and stuff... well, the elder's meetings aren't as corporate but still
@severe gazelle Teth's throne is obscured in that pic, it's right behind Lamed's throne
Isle's the leftmost throne and their Hebrew name is Daleth
Prairie's throne is right next to Isle and their Hebrew name is Ayin
here is an alternate concept art of the vault.
Yes! Thanks this was the image I was thinking of and to me seems like the logical explanation to this.
@compact shale ooo yes that's right! Xd I'll try to keep a mental note on their names. They always slip my mind ._.
The old names may not be canon, though interesting to know.
You will get to know them over time, no stress.
Oh yea here's the headcanon I had with the idea of Lamed realizing that Resh doesn't have good intentions
Lamed looks so sad in the cut scenes. To me they're like a motherly figure they probs felt so disappointed or something :(((
That and Tsadi always makes me go :(
OOF this makes it more tragic 😪
Yeah, they have the feeling something's wrong but when the scholars give them their proposals Lamed connects the dots and fully realizes that it's that bad
edit: who pinged me?
Omg yo. My message didn't even send how whack?!
Typing previous message that didn't even send. It's about Teth and Tsadi
I feel like Teth and Tsadi were the most loyal to the king. Teth apparently is related to Lamed, but also the positioning of Teth's throne is behind Lamed?
Could they have been doing stuff behind Lamed's back? Also if you look at Teth's mask thingie they have diamonds... this could defs be representative of their almost unwavering loyalty to the king. Maybe when the king ||died|| they were so upset and bitter about it all they couldn't stop crying idk. I've seen ship art of Teth and the king when I was looking for lore stuff.
Tsadi on the other hand, their name means innocent. To me this could almost mean being naive; being so faithful and loyal to the king bc they think that's what's best for their people. I feel like they followed the king almost to the very end but only realised what was up but it was too late
PeasBot's filter can be weird sometimes. You might want to edit out some potentially offending words there
Tip: when writing a long message, ctrl+c it so that if it gets deleted you can ctrl+v the message back into the message box and scan it for stuff that made it get deleted in the first place then put it in again
*edit complete- thanks for the tip
The positioning of Teth's throne is probably just to fit the order of Sky realms, though I also imagine it's because they're tall enough for them to be perfectly fine behind Lamed's throne
If the Valley twins sat in Teth's throne no one would know they were there
Wait so it was the queen stealing qg job all along?!

The royalty is fighting back
The King has a wife????

I mean we could probably assume that they do
Some people said it was Priestess (who was scrapped), but the statue at home and Priestess have some similarities design-wise so…
Aren't those statues supposed to represent the Vault Elder?
Really?
Also the statue at home doesn’t really look like the Vault Elder
Well, I can't think of another entity with closed eyes and a smooth round head of hair other than the Vault elder
The valley twins probably have at some point tried to shove the other off the chair.
I think the chair is barely big enough for the both of them, and sometimes they fight for space
And then another elder has to dismiss them from the meeting
hahaha, I'd accept that as a viable theory!
I've written a brainrot at request of my friend (it doesn't have much lore so I'm not gonna put it here) and it ends with Forest dismissing Sah by bonking them away
I think that was some sort of bug but it’s pretty interesting when you think about it
May I see the picture?
I uhhh don’t have a photo, sorry
What makes you think it's a bug?
I’m not really sure I can explain, I’ve never seen the mural myself (like in game) and I remember someone told me it was a bug
I'd like to see it, out of morbid curiosity
Same
Though if I were to make a guess as to why Tsadi killed the king, I would say...
Resh was convulsing more and more each second. Consuming that much pure light was apparently not something they could handle. Out of desperate impulse, Tsadi lunged forward and stabbed Resh in the chest. Unbenknownst to anyone, this was a terrible idea. The corruption exited from the deceased Resh's chest and spread throughout the courtyard.
Hi (-: I’ve never commented here but I just wanted to say that I like to think that winged light are our skykids memory fragments? Since they are scattered across the worlds and their appearance is very similar to us
that’s just my opinon though! (-:
That's possible! I heard a theory that where it was the prince's memories (since within another theory, they completed the trials) but thats a good idea!
Tis definitely a possibility, the winged light themselves are an enigma
They’re all letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.
Isle: ד
Prairie: ע
Forest: ט
Valley: ם
Wasteland: צ
Vault: ל
Eden: ר
Winged light are one of the most enigmatic things in Sky.
-They're not mentioned in the Isle cutscene given to new players.
-They're only pretty much mentioned in in-game instructions which are purely gameplay.
-We can't tell if ancestors ever knew about their existence. (ok, the Stargazer MIGHT have seen a wl fall from the sky, but I have no idea)
-We can't tell if the elders ever knew about their existence
mhm i also feel like they may have just been added because I think in beta you’d loose emotes in eden, and it would be very tedious to recollect emotes, but I’d like to think that winged light are important somehow (-:
I'm sure they are, though like I said, enigmatic
I wonder if there will ever be a story mode in the game for something. Right now it’s just collecting spirits and cosmetics and making friends; that can be boring for some people. If there was a story mode players like us would probably get the answers we want.
Hah, that might be too explicit for TGC
I have thought of the idea of a lore-revealing item though
My interpretation of red light is that it is a recorder of events that can survive even the darkest of times for the sake of keeping history recorded so that it never gets lost
Because if we never learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it
So what the red light could do is to make the murals a little bit clearer, or shine it on ruined artifacts to find out what they used to look like
HAHAHA
||srsly tho sky needs an offline single-player mode: no currency, but the spirits, story, and area will be there and your cosmetics progress can be transferred from your online sky account every now and then||
The ending of the season of flight trailer on YouTube looks really interesting, I’ve seen comments where people think they are going to talk more about lore, I feel like they might since they started introducing the new flight spirits on their Instagram/ reddit giving details about them and their roles in the sky community!
That makes a lot of sense!
I think we'll get to find out how exactly the Flight area was affected by the Storm
I’m excited! For the new quests, I think it’s so cool that flight guide was an apprentice for prairie elder!
Would it have been? It’s in the Hidden Forest— and no realms other than Eden have any of the red shards from the Storm.
Each realm is corrupted in their own way. I don't think Forest had dark acid rain before the Storm
At the very end of the trailer you can hear krill and the clouds start to take a green appearance like golden wasteland
Ohhh, true
I didn’t realize that! Now I’m developing a ton of headcannons…. Curse my roleplay expert mind
haha you should read the comments on the trailer! I’m not sure if the ones that talked about sky lore are still there but they were fun to read (-:
have this ||king || bye
Sky lore is pretty vague but I do know 2 theories that are pretty much debunked
Isle used to have more sea, be more flooded, that kind of stuff: With clues from the Switch trailer, it's all but stated that Isle used to be a lush area with shops and lots of flying boats
The isle ocean theory may or may not have been kinda prevalent back then because Isle had sand, it was close to the sea, and because of the boats that could suggest that it might have been a seafloor.
The Ark got krilled: The ark broke when it was struck by lightning, the Muralist apparently survived long enough to make that event into a mural and it can be seen when the Enchantment quests are completed
There’s a Priestess?
I like the angry crab murals in forgotten arc
Honestly the flying boats thing for Isle makes much more sense to me
Id like to see lush isle in game, sounds nice
Still, I'm just saying that it was a thing, but is now debunked. Other than that lore theories are pretty hard to debunk because of how vague Sky is.
A part of me thinks every realm is just the same world but in a different time, like us skykids are walking through generations at a time, seeing how everything evolved and slowly crashed, inspired by the posters in office
Wait were the floating boats debunked or the isle was the sea floor debunked?
Hmmm is this Lamed?
The seafloor isle theory was debunked. Floating boats definitely existed in ancestor times
is that statue in eden? I took a photo of one with my lantern if that would be of any interest
Correct
That’s what I thought. The sea floor theory doesn’t even make any sense— why would there be ancestor-made structures on the sea floor? The stairs to fly to the temple and the big ramp
I think that ones on the left? I took a photo of the one on the right
Idk, their forehead/hair is pretty tall even for Lamed
It looks closer to the Polite Scholar's headpiece, actually (it's mostly obtainable so no you can't make your skykid wear a honkin tall slab of stone)
I wished I took more sc during my flight in Eden today
that’s just the photo I took (-:
if anybody wants me to take lantern anywhere for lore purposes I’ll try and help!
it's a very high quality image... but those darn eyes creep me out for some reason... I know they're supposed to be eyelids but they only look good on chibi masks
I like taking screenshots (-: thank you! I’ll see if I can find anything else in eden next time I go
Yuh same I have the floating light from this week's ts
anybody else like to think that forest had a canal through the middle? I don’t think there are any murals but the bridges and the boats had to get through somehow?
I’ll be going to Eden after this season is over (you really need to be able to fly for the memory quests) but the next time I go I’ll try to go through Orbit a little slower. I’ll get any screen shots I can
Boat: *crashes into rocks near the opening leading to boneyard
*WEEWOOWEEWOWEWOWEWOWEWO
Grievous bodily injury was found at the crash site.
Good question though. There's probably ways outside where we can explore for boats to go through. And I think most of the boats park near the Temple, because that's where the darkstone tech is.
Whenever I cr in forest and I see the boats in the first room where you open the gate I can’t help but think how inconveniently place they are like 😕
Imagine being like, well time to drag this boat all the way to the end of forest! Alright boys let’s get to work. Surely, surely there was an easier way
Lots of parts of Sky are still shrouded in clouds and other things, so I think the boats do have their own route, we just can't see or explore it yet
Edit: Now that I think of it, the windpaths are probably going to answer this question for us.

probably! The game is just linear to us but obviously the spirits living inside had to be able to travel freely! but yeah, windpaths aha
New areas are gradually going to be unshrouded, so for this question, only time will tell.
I’m excited for new murals, so I can stare at them and theorise until my eyes bleed
Stare lmao I can’t spell
And don’t forget that we’re all gonna overthink until our brains goes poof
i mean, the boats did normally float on air
I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet.
Actually it happens all the time
Well then that makes sense
I'm recording all the wall paintings in isle, have the first batch.
Second batch, which is exclusively Prophecy Cave:
I haven't done fire yet that's so pretty
Intersting Vault is the largest feature.
The building under which Ayin (
) is on the second last picture makes me think of the bells in village, come to think of it.
I think those are the dirt mound things maybe, I think there's only three bells.
Dirt mounds ?
In the beginning of Prairie, with the butterfly spirit how there's the weird dome mound things
Oh yeah
I just gotta say I’m so in love with this depiction of the Isle elder. I want an emote of just that drawing so badly
Wall mural elders are the best.
So I saw someone here before saying that floating platforms are held up by the crystals at the bottom so I just wanted to mention that there are crytals at the bottom of the magic connecting bridge in Forest as well, so that's some more support for it
That was likely Vela and you are correct with power diamonds used to lift and move stone structures.
There are even some in vault.
"The player characters from Sky are basically living meteors that pick up human mannerisms from dead people. The only reason they know how to laugh is because a ghost did the same thing right in front of them" I read this somewhere in a comment section and I want yall smart lore people to tell me if its accurate in terms of lore out of curiosity, because I never thought about it this way
Someone knows why there's no this golden guy at murals in my game?
You have to light the braziers/fire things in order to reveal more of the mural! They can be found on the floating rocks
Seems like it… a moth with no exposure to spirits would behave sort of like a wild animal, no emoting, just curiosity and seeking light.
It’s debatable how the players themselves factor into the lore but I would guess their ability to communicate between themselves and their grasp of basic concepts comes from spirit memories too at some level.
It's from mimicking spirits and other players that they learn to display emotions and decorate themselves.
That is an interesting description of a new moth.
True, they have not learned many emotes, so are limited in their expression. They have not yet earned enough cosmetics to develop their own identity and they extremely naïve of their surroundings.
Yeah, the skykids gain empathy by reliving spirits. But being like an innocent child, they copy everything. Including this
Hmm, that would be an interesting enemy concept, grey moths that first fell deep in darkness-corrupted territory and learned to aggressively hunt down light for sustenance
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there were dark kids in the concept art.
Though TGC might have to create a path/AI for them.
Considering that they're making spirits walk I think I can say that they're perfecting the tech for more complicated NPC movement. Only time will tell.
The game would look even more alive with walking NPCs around. How beautiful would that be, don't you think?
Some NPCs walk around, but its set paths and basically limited to events and seasons, i think it would be nice (I also think this isn't the right channel for this)
So I was rewatching StarmyBunny's Soleil MV last night and seeing this really made me wonder about the possibility of dark/corrupted skykids that may even give birth to things like the krill (or control them)
There was a Priestess
Oh wow I never knew one of those murals existed
if that's the 8th picture, it's from the ushering stargazer memory; used to be part of it before prophecy, but raider found out that mural was never really removed, so...
👀
Bells look different in clapping spirit cutscene, spirits carrying the bells, and the actual bells
Might just be a technical rendering thing.
maybe but still worth making note of lol
Can we acknowledge the fact that the original Backstory timeline for Sky and the Souls of the Sky Children was related to the Sky and the Human World? The interesting fact of Sky Children were and almost once Human too. Or technically are human children in the Human world, while they are Sky Children in the Sky World-
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/803161135770894386/903331021783707718/133b_Sky.png
Yeah, it sure was an interesting concept for the real world/sky connection, but IDK how the human concepts fit with the current Sky world ||Office doesn't count in the lore, it's just for fun||
that’s a nice timeline (-: I should look at more concept art
So this is the canon backstory, right?
It once was, but not anymore, myself and probably many others lile to pretend it still is though.
Sky, as of now, has more Lore then even with these new Seasons
Not all seasons are necessarily completely canon, as Ktjn said. Some 4th wall breaks must be made for the sake of the experience.
Event items don't have much lore and are simply real-world tie-ins, though that makes me wonder: What if the Sky and human worlds are slowly merging together, to some degree?
It was confirmed as non-canon? ||though I guess it makes sense because if it were, lorechat would probably not exist in the first place||
Whoops! Must've said something sacrilegious! Sorry Ktjn!
I don't think the devs particularly care about what goes on here
Did you know the concept elder spirit names were once banned ?
Anyway, at some point with lore that vague, you must learn to take what you find and run with that; some people see game gimmicks as just meta and don't really consider them in their headcanons, while others justify them with theories.
For example, Raider has interesting headcanons about time loops and the king being an entity that had a time-keeper role justifying why some stuff regularly resets and why the realms seem stuck at a particular time of the day, while I don't really share these. Fun to get updates tho.
Wait "once" banned? How'd the ban lift? (using the names won't get you a bonk but you have to consider that they're not canon and that not everyone knows those names)
MAN
Someone said something and it got unbanned
i felt like bringing that up because that's one of the most outlandish rules i ever heard of
would anyone care to explain the story of the "come here" spirit in isle of dawn? is the child a kid who just got reborn?
Remember that theory I gave you? I just realized that it doesn't mention winged light at all, but then I eventually realized that winged light are the most enigmatic major element in the game lore-wise.
-Only the game instructions mentions it, which is purely for gameplay tutorial purposes
-We can't tell with near-certainty if any of the ancestors or elders are aware of it
-We can't tell with near-certainty if it's on any of the murals
@compact pine could be skykid, could be winged light, though skykid might not make sense because they came after everyone died
I also thought that Come Here's memory was a post-mortem memory but then I realized that makes no sense whatsoever
Ushering Stargazer was walking with Rejecting Voyager when they spot a shooting star, they go closer and tell Rejecting Voyager to come over there. The two check and they see a child.
That’s what I understood at least
Yeah, but thing is I have no idea what the child is
Some say it's a skykid, some say it's Alef, WHO FRICKING KNOWS
Oooo
on a side note, what exactly are winged lights again? were they sky kids before? im still confused on their existence
Haha.
I don't know either. What they are NOT is the stars in the game constellations, those are made of ancestor spirits.
Maybe its both. If I remember correctly, sky kids and spirits are drawn differently in murals. Spirits have two lines while Sky kids don’t. I think it’s safe to assume that the kid in the prophecy murals is Alef, and that figure doesn’t have two lines, implying that Alef is a Sky kid, I think.
There are skykids in murals? That implies that some spirits survived to see skykids... can you send me pics?
Here, the Sky kid shown in the Isle mural doesn’t have two lines
Ohhhhh
Wait a minute a wing buff looks like this
That could be where winged light is in the murals
Ye
So Usher could've seen the wl falling... and then the ancestors worship it? Because it's a child of light and it looks sacred? idk, just extrapolating here
I think the kid Ushering Stargazer saw was Alef idk
it's hard to tell, kid was shaven bald and blue like the spirits
Bald ancestors are placeholders but bald children have significance
True
Random theory about the winged light children (because I just randomly came up with it, also do note that I don't know how to black out text so spoilers?)
I think that the winged light children are the same children who were turned to the statues we see in the Eye of Eden. It could be that their souls have become separate from a now inhabitable stone bodies. And as you collect them, you reconnect that lost link, and when you finally get to the Eye of Eden you free them. The reason why the winged light children return and the statues stay by rebirth, could have to do with the children not wanting to be saved. Or simply, you cannot save them
I might be thinking too deep into this but it was a fun theory to come up with
(once again I do not know how to black out text, so I'm sorry if there are spoilers)
I don’t think you need to spoiler anything here but
Thanks!
Interesting
It's fine! Eden spoilers are ok in Lorechat ||Office spoilers may still have to apply though, and beta content is still not allowed at all||
There are many theories about winged light and statues
-Winged light are the souls of skids who gave up
-Eden statues are skykids who died trying to save the other statues
-Continuing on the last theory, Eden statues are your dead friends
I missed the talk of useringstargazers memory. Dang it. I have a whole chart for it.
What I think is pretty solid evidence the one they see fall is the trial victor. And ushering and rejecting are the ones waving.
I was just backreading this; who exactly is Alef and what is their significance skykid-wise?
Please, do show us the chart!
@ember temple Alef is the prince of the Sky kingdom, they are theorized to be the one who passed all 4 of the prophecy trials. Their role and relations with the elders, the king, and megabird is still being discussed and there aren't any prevalent theories as far as I know, and it's not even clear if they're an ancestor or a skykid because they look to be in-between those two.
@compact shale is it true you are... A JELLYFISH?
I see :O So Alef fell from the sky as a skykid and became the prince...huh
That is one of the theories regarding him, yes.
I don't really have much else to tell you though, Alef's not something that has usually piqued my interest in lorechat.
No worries! Thank you for the explanation! 💜
Oh! I see... That's pretty cool! still doesn't answer who the heck the fallen child is though...
As for Rejecting Voyager, I heard a theory about what's with those spirits who aren't elders but have elder masks.
Basically ancestors like Reject have these headpieces to indicate that they're a liaison, the bridge between the elder and the civilians.
In Reject's case, for example, they'd be the one whom Isle ancestors would come to for questions, which would then be passed to the Isle elder. They'd also give the Elder's word in their behalf.
So, like prophets?
Theoretically, they COULD say anything and people would think that's the elder's word, but that's pretty much a crime so it's not so good if they get caught
No, they're not prophets, they're more like the royal advisor, the one who knows what's going on at the civilian's end so that they can tell the elder, the one who delivers civilian concerns to the elder, that kind of person
Like I said, they're the communication bridge between the elder and the citizens
And then Alef most likely became Resh, the King
I see!
woo name change!
Now googling: hebrew letters
Woah I didn’t notice that! Also do you think the 3 people below might be Pointing Candlemaker and two spirits that go on a boat to the Isle temple?
So! Hebrew letters! I know the Hebrew names aren't canon anymore but they do give an idea of what the devs were thinking of for the roles of each elder because each letter has special symbolism to it.
Aleph is the first letter of the hebrew alphabet and signifies the number one. Aleph indicates the Oneness and Unity of the Creator. It hints that beyond the illusion of separation and duality is underlying Oneness – that nothing is separate and the Creator is the source of everything. Aleph represents the creation o
The Resh, the 20th Hebrew letter, means head, leader and beginning. It is the symbol of choosing between greatness and degradation. In it is the word for poor רש Rash, but when it is filled the power of the Aleph it becomes Rosh ראש, head or first, expressing the Firstness, Oneness, and Eternity of the Creator, and the
Wow
ok but
I really don’t want LP to be canon yet a wind path leads to it
what does it mean
I wanted to excuse it from the lore quite badly, but I guess I’ll have to fit it in in some way
I have convoluted ideas about it
should I tell us?
go for it (GOD I FORGOT ABT THE SHHSHSHBDD TIMER!!)
BUT GO FOR IT !! u have my own crazy ideas bc. it sure is!!
anything can be canon if you try hard enough! /j
so it’s probably a real place to an extent
time to copypaste from something I wrote:
“maybe Starlight Desert is almost like a cyberspace? like a VR world of sorts, but like in some sci-fi media (thinking Sword Art Online that I saw a little of) one that you can live in if you so choose to?
that but not computers, through making dreams and thoughts into psuedo-physical spaces
and the wind paths trade to there for those whom decide to live in it as to maintain a little contact with the outside world if one were to go full-on living in there full-time (for say, food, general resources)
willing to believe that the [LP] spirits are real people, but sort of how you see a form of those you know in dreams, which may or may not be accurate? so potentially actual spirits, or a combination of memories about spirits, or partially true and part of it being made up from other things in one’s mind”
“I would argue that LP is [an angsty season, regarding the spirits] but I headcanon seeing the spirits in their memories through the little prince’s POV, so it’s not necessarily true to who they really are or where that is in their life (they might’ve sorted their problems! I like to think they did), just a very black-and-white view because that’s what the prince sees
plus it’s unclear where in their lives spirits’ memories are and how much they say about them”
Well frick
there's 3rd quest spoilers here so bye lorechat... for now... I shall return
a big argument with myself is whether the LP spirits are real as a result
and therefore, is the Little Prince? I’d rather he not be but eh
I dunno I just
I feel too iffy about the season to want to accept
I’m probably overthinking, I could just excuse it as purely being for gameplay and not at all to do with lore
will do thar for now
Ohh thats super interesting!
AND YEAH GAMEPLAY IS A VALID EXCUSE, lore just makes the brain go wrrr
really love your idea of the LP spirits though!! if its fine for me to somewhat expand on your idea, i feel like the spirits could actually be like from folktales passed on for generations and brought to life by said VR world, and that could be why they're inaccurate/a mixture of people's interpretations of them :O
i also have my own ideas for the season but its very, very absurd
If you want my wild theory/headcanon with no backing, personally I think Starlight Desert physically, is a weird area baby between vault and wasteland.
Wasteland has a lot of ocean surrounding it, and so starlight desert could be an extension/part of it by technicality sake; I suggest this for a few reasons
1 - SAND. It’s a desert and wasteland and vault are neighbors, and I doubt wasteland just, ends at the gate, it’d most likely surround the vault to an extent. On god weve got SAND
2 - Land of tears, there’s whale bones there similar to wasteland due to the conflict (bones means unnatural death) also well, theres a krill also, but i associate krill more with the story/dreams side of things rather than physicality
3 - Themes. Wasteland is the stage of adulthood, weve moved past the romanticism of young adulthood and are thrust into the pressures and stress of adulthood, everything sucks and for the spirits they are representations of different aspects of adulthood being not so great. itd tie in with wastelands whole deal
4- star collectors boat is broken in half and i rhink itd be funny if its paralleling ark, sky rlly hates merchants in boats 😔
Vault definitely makes it a funny little lore nightmare as vault is a mesh between reality and dreams, I MEAN HAVE YOU SEEN THE ARCHIVES ITS WILD.. But most certainly the place exists, even if the vault makes it dreamlike with the.. everything really
For why the windpaths there, I believe if its connected to wasteland, it would be a trade route or another migration thing, as wasteland was a big city a wind path would be warranted. Though we don’t see buildings like wasteland, so I’ve also thought it’s more similar to how isle was in the switch trailer. if that makes sense, especially if its more of an outskirts thing. as well ark and starlight desert tunnels r closeish together
thats what i think physicality wise. when it comes to the spiirts rq i think they existed given soldiers mem
i think the spirits getting roped into it despite being real people who lived lives is hilarious
BUT TAHST MY WHOLE YHING WITH STARLIGHT DESERT PHYSICALLY, my spirit talk goes into the brainrot territory and we cannot have that
woo
slightly absurd headcanon on Star Collector:
from a joke about "ark the sequel"
star collector was a merchant in the wasteland that got kicked out of their trade guild for wanting to hoard everything, and I mean everything
but is happiest this way, yet isn’t gaining anything
so they were in the magic trade like the Ark merchants, just got to keep a small ship after being kicked out
Unrelated note + on a discussion from yesterday.
I believe this cosmic boy is the big boy version of the lil boy thing we saw in the Nintendo preview that I sent in yesterday. Seeing as it have a little diamond thingy. I 100% firmly believe this is the true/pure form of our krill/dark dragons today. The only time we see this (well from my exp) was in the Sanctuary Islands- we also see the eel/whale there too.
The flippers are done in such a away that if we look at the anatomy- defs almost resemble a krill when we look at the cosmic manta's skeleton
Also. Idk if they really do have any relation to manta rays. BECAUSE if they do, guys in GW ||when the krill eats the manta in the second area... that's messed up, I know animals in the wild do that sometimes but sheeeshhh||
Weirdly enough manta Ray skeletons are whole slabs of bone like things for flippers. So I defs think they took some artistic licence with the krill seeing as they are fictional beasts xd
Also been here many times. But I honestly wonder what happened in this area. It's so wrecked in comparison to the rest of the archive. But seeing as most of it were crabs. My HC is this was most likely caused by them eating through the walls- but idk coz the damage at the start seems wayyyy too substantial to be just caused by crabs...
The more I think about it, I wonder why those 'book' like objects only go up to the first lvl up. Second lvl and above don't have them?
Im sorry for the spam, went for a CR and search for WL bc I went to Eden the other day!
Will be running GW later (hopefully) and a plethora of sc in tow maybe
Oooo cool
I like to think that archives was just a hidden library that only became accessible over time through decay, not that I have anything to back that up
I like the krill manta theory, I’m still wondering wether the worm thing in the underground caverns could be the light uncorrupted version of krill or the giant manta
also, on a side note, the symbols on the walls of the archives look really cool
True
Ohhhhh I thought that was an eel!! But you might be right to. Apparently on the wiki the thing I took a pic of was a spirit/comic manta. There's ofc the non spirit ones and they apparently look like a whale kinda thing idek
One of my favorite theories that prolly isnt true but I headcanon it anyway, is that the archive is for the storage of DNA. So they may someday attempt re revive the extinct. And for now, can only project memories of it.
Just keep the brine shrimp DNA out of the Huge Potion whoops
imagine walking in vault and you see captain america cryogenizated here
