hey so you know how our questgiver for this season is the Rose right
and the questgivers are usually spirits
so that would mean the Rose is a spirit
boi did the Rose die
:D Hey homies, does anyone have any theories or answers to have children of light are born. Are we fallen stars or are we truly just light that had manifested. We can "manipulate" fire aka our candles and withstand standing in full campfires. Although we fall from orbit it's not very clear that we could be stars considering we must collect stars throughout the game and we are called Children of Light
One time I saw forty FIVE sunsets!
Is that like, five sunsets multiplied by forty, or just 45 sunsets
Ohawo that would explain why it shines this way
I'm not a lore expert but stupid theory what if Megabird kind of drops light form their tail or however it is called and that's the light in Skykids
What if the little prince is the prince-
Maybe, tho most likely not since it’s a crossover
I dont believe so anyways but it was fun to think abt it
does anyone know if sky/ light awaits (presumably journey) had anything with wheels? or wheel mechanisms?
There are conveyers in Journey but I don't remember seeing wheels turning
i see, thank you for your reply!
The only thing I think we could infer is that the real Sky world probably also has a desert to the West
Oh woah!! I never noticed this mark on her.
She kinda looks like she’s been through a tussle of some sort.
I...uh..well...
I just realized the other day that the Rose is a Spirit. Also, the tales she tells us in the post-quest cutscenes shows her getting sicker and sicker. And from what the Little Prince has said, it seems that the season takes places canonically after the book...(I think)?
Which means
The Rose might be dead
Wow I just realized this the other day too!
Oh yes please! I’d love to have that link
I mean, I dunno...The Slouching Soldier’s memory features Spirits from other places in Sky (Backflipping Champion, Fainting Warrior, Saluting Captain): #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Personally, I think the season does have canon relevancy to Sky’s lore. I mean, the Little Prince is an alien visitor to Sky, so it’s not like he originated from Sky’s world. He’s just visiting.
And there can be explanations for why the LP Spirits are chilling in the Starlight Desert (Lamplighter has to be there to keep the lighthouse lit, the Scholar might be there to study alone as a self-exiled hermit, the Narcissist might be there since his arena is there or he preferred being in a place where he could hang out with only himself lol, and maybe the Slouching Soldier had been stationed there as an outpost. Merchant dude has a boat, he could’ve been there to make a quick stop but died there [his boat is capsized, isn’t it?]).
And the Rose, as mentioned, might be a Spirit since she’s dead
As the Elders can share visions with us, and Spirits have the power to show us their memories, it makes sense that she has the power to show us visions. Or perhaps we can say that the Skid is imagining this imagery as she tells us more of herself.
Aw heck, I’m suddenly realizing that she probably has tasked us to find the Prince as her last wish. Her spirit stuck around because she didn’t want to leave the Little Prince alone 🥺
Wait, I have a question
If we have the free the LP Spirits from being encased in stone, how in the world was the Little Prince able to talk to them? I’m assuming when we free the Spirits, the cutscenes of the LP meeting them shows the event that happened before we came along to free them. Were they not encased in stone until the LP recently came along?
It goes against my initial idea that every Spirit in the game got turned to stone at the same time due to a sudden explosive cataclysm. Perhaps this was rather a gradual process? Gosh, it’s be awful to be a Spirit living during the last days, seeing your friends slowly turn into stone until you do yourself
I always thought that the whole thing was just
When you start a quest or enter the Starlight Desert your skid falls asleep and enters a dream
Boom now you have a noncanon world to play in
Ha ha
/hj
Heh, that could be an explanation for it too :P
Though the question is, what makes the Skid conk out like that. Archive magic?
Me and other people were discussing the other day that the Starlight Desert might be affected by Archive magic —it leaks into the desert. Explains the dream manta flying around and some of the dreamlike imagery. Another proposed that the LP is indeed vision the desert, but his personality influenced how the magic affected the desert
Yeah... considering that the desert was probably "built" on top of archive remains (as far as the way I think of Vault as), the desert would very much likely have a little bit of Vault in it
I have an outrageous theory for the Starlight Desert's existence
The desert itself is made of overlapping/folded parts of the space-time fabric, which makes everything closer when ordinarily it would have been farther
Woah! Interesting theory!
You think this was due to magic leaking out accidental, or a purposeful experiment by the Archive Scholars?
And are you saying that the Desert does exist somewhere but is in fact far away?
Actually...
I think the sand is from the archive remains
The individual grown-up's asteroids are actually far away from each other and the Sky Kingdom but are brought closer by folds in space time
And yeah, maybe a bunch of archive scholars did it because they couldn't go to outer space, so they made outer space come to them
Hahahah
hi lore chat I need all your info on the prince king and their old kingdom
I've come here just to say corrupt king
The Prince is the King but controlling a Mecha
Mecha???
ok I’m confused
Mecha suit, and that’s a theory.
The canon info about Prince and King are that they’re both far from being saved. There are theories of King being the father of Prince or the grownup version of Prince. Prince/King is also prolly the golden child you see in the murals of Prophecy cave or the fallen fetus in
memory. Also, King/Prince are prolly one of the reason why Sky fell lmao
@icy spruce Draw me a crab!
@final bobcat idk, there’s no name for Sky. We just call it Sky Kingdom (fanon ig)
what would be a canon word for the land of sky? besides just that
Land of the Lustrous
jk jk
But I could come up with some fun names
The Kingdom of Starlight
The Kingdom in the Clouds
Celestial Kingdom...
Skiddom
But the Land of Sky is a nice and simple name for it
Oh, huh! Interesting theory!!
The Kingdom of Sky
Eh this works
No. Do not remind me of that anime. As much as I love angst, that one manga makes me feel p a in.
Woahhh the edit

If the edit you’re talking about is the artwork, thats a scrapped concept for the finale
personally, i think that the ppl breaking in entered from the explosion hole in the front- and they got far into the archives before anyone caught them or even knew they were there. i think that the vault elder dug that hole in the wall as a last ditch effort to stop them/surprise attack, and ended up fighting them (unsuccessfully), leaving the elder with her scars.
or maybe it was the other way around- the heist ppl dug the hole, and the elder needed to get in fast so they made the explosions, and perhaps got their scars from an explosion gone wrong?
Light explosions, just light explosions
light go brrr
also i just relived the one spirit memory that was in the archives and now i think it was the vault elder’s acolytes who did it
hey all, not sure if this has been discussed before but it's in regards to season of assembly. so at the end of eden before we go into eden, we see the old sky kingdom right? so i'm thinking that after it got destroyed everyone scattered as darkness took over. i'm thinking that the scouts are lost children trying to survive in what remains/the new current kingdom. does that make sense?
It could be possible.
Though it does look like the memories happened in different times, some are at later and more dire times than others.
Is season of the little prince canon in the lore of sky?
@boreal bane
That is unknown but we had a conversation about this starting here
@boreal bane
It is a collaboration, so most of the lore in that season may not apply to sky (ex. the little prince himself, the characters' traits etc), though there could be some overlap that could count as a theory/fanon (ex. the characters as spirits, what the little prince might share with the skykid as he learns more about the world).
So the lore in there would have to be taken with a grain of salt when included in the lore.
It should be. If the reason for the crossover is canonically explained, than it’s canon.
I honestly have a small theory that the kingdom of sky is actually called eden. Let's think for a second. The eden we go to is merely the EYE, or CENTER of eden. So logically, the kingdom surrounding it must be the rest of eden.
ooh yeah that would make total sense esp since some realms like isle and prairie show nature and peace, and other realms like forest and golden wasteland show the results of greed and corruption, which is basically what the garden of eden/adam and eve stuff was about
I ain't a religious person so I would have never guessed that, but yeah that makes sense too.
I don't believe in religion at all but my family is religious so I know some things so it makes sense ig
hello! super new to the lore channel! but ive been thinking abt how journey and sky could be part of the same universe!! theres some references (at least it seems like it) to journey in isle , and its probably really just an easter egg but theres some hooded figures in the doors at isle that kinda resemble the journey characters :0 probably a reach lmao but its cool to think about
Unfortunately;; Due to copyright reasons, Journey and Sky have no actual connections since Journey is owned by Sony but you can say that Sky may be inspired by Journey because of similar mechanics and concept.
Where did the Krill come from?
aww man! i didnt know that :(!!
The commonly agreed lore is that they are corrupted mantas/whales.
So they aren’t dark dragons then?
Alright then, better question what happened at the Eye of Eden and what does the corrupted king want?
Well that's up to your interpretation, but the corrupted whale theory is the default for now.
Okay then
Hmmmmm... my theory goes something like this...
One day, the King invited everyone to a ceremony on castle grounds.
He showed a ball of pure light that he had been accumulating for quite some time.
"The divine offering to Megabird has been finished, and I shall become the vessel for it! Behold my ultimate act of worship!"
The crowd was filled with cheering, but also... protest?
Most of the elders seemed to be in favor the idea, except for Vault, who had a troubled look on their face.
The crowd was silent in suspense...
The king took the ball of pure light and swallowed it.
*collective gasp
The king started to feel a throbbing pain...
"F-father? W-what's going on?!" Alef fearfully said, as he watched what was happening. He really didn't know much about his father's plan until now, but something didn't seem right...
The king screamed, and then...
Sorry to change topic but this is mostly a quick question that seemed appropriate for this channel I guess, I don't know if anyone has already looked into it or if this is just common knowledge. Granted I've only played the game for half a year at this point and maybe it's just left over from a previous season?
While going around doing CR with a friend, I noticed these rocks in both prairie and hidden forest. Both look the same in comparison.
In Daylight Prairie, Villages: on the island with the Waving Bellmaker, on the dock pointing to the entrance of bird's nest is a stone pillar/rock with two dots and a circle One dot on the top and the second dot located in the circle. It seems to resemble a clock with the dot in the 12 o clock position aligned with the top dot.
In Hidden forest, Forest brook, on the right highest place there is a fire pit that fast charges you with light. walking past the first tree, on the second tree there is the same rock with two dots and a circle. Also resembles a dial. the top dot is the same but the dot in the circle is positioned near the 6 o clock position. Might be more in more areas but I haven't found more as of right now
I'm not sure what these rocks are for and I want to look into it but decided to ask here if anyone knew or if it was just some seasonal event that was left behind. Thanks
Ah, that's not a lore thing. It's a clock specifying when a rainbow will appear in the area
Is there any place that gives more details about it? How it's read or the time it takes for it to change? etc.
Not sure about that one. Maybe #questions-and-help can help with that
Thank you!
There are currently three clocks known to be in the game. They're all Sky: Light Awaits relics that signify the arrival of something but only one is active to date.
The one in the middle Prairie Village island dock used to signify the arrival of a chat boat that isn't active anymore but its invisible OOB is quite popular to visit under the leftmost island (near the caves entrance, there are plenty of YouTube tutorials).
There's a popular rumor that it signifies the mushroom fairy ring in the 8 player island but that has no clock and has its own schedule (xx:50 to xx:00 of an hour, every last 10 minutes of an hour)
The one in the Forest Brook area near the campfire signifies a rainbow that appears during 5AM/PM PDT/PST. It is the only one working.
The last one is in the left side of the bridge (after the jellyfishes) of the entrance to the forest temple, I have not heard of its function (I personally think it used to signify when the mantas in the save a manta quest would appear back in Sky:LA since they used to only appear at a certain time) but it's also not active.
Thank you for the info! Me and my friends wondered why the rocks where there. I'll make sure to pass this along. Have a great day!
Okay my brain went wonky and I meant the entrance of the forest temple* the small bridge leading to the door after the jellyfishes, corrected it in the og message as well
What is the story of sky? The land before and currently since the stars fell
we need a channel for fan-theorization and stuff
i want to gush abt my fanseasons/events
You are free to send a suggestion in #contact-the-mods but I think such topics are free to be chat about in the general discussion channels
haha, i am writing a message in conctact-mods rn! i love this heckin game
Why do all the little prince spirits wear chains
maybe cause adults don’t feel free or something
Kids are chained by school
I wonder why this little sapling exists in wasteland
That’s from the Days of Bloom event! It’s one of the quest which is basically spend 30 seconds with the tiny tree lol
Ohhh
I remember how one person (forgot who though) pointed out how the candle came from the light of the Sky Kid’s chest light, I find out more proof! When putting it away, guess where the sky kid pats themself?
What if candles are like soul gems?
The resemblance is uncanny, so could it be that these skiilift boats represents how turtle were b fore disappearing?
Good eye, I pointed out too that detail, but guess you're referring to someone else, I said that months.. or even a yeat ago
there are 5 sprouts like this in the Realms, mostly around social area (or in this GW case pretty far away) and they grow into wonderful cherry saplings🌿
But the real wonder of Days Of Bloom was in Home 🌸
Interesting
So are the krill just skeletons of those big whales killed and taken over by darkness? Or are they machines like in journey?
/they SOUND clanky
They are corrupted light creatures, so not mechanical, and although it is up to debate on what creature they used to be, I personally don’t think they’re whales or an elder manta
Or bioengineered (like, purposely corrupted or the corruption is controlled somehow)
Someday I hope we melt a krill!
/oh yea, i wonder iff that's possible. see how many percent is flesh and how many is robot
Im mad we where this close to giant ram horns and they cut it! Cruel! Its not too late to hope at least some of them still have them! Much more unique creature this way!
/how much-- processing power does it need to render the whole thing
Oof- maybe thats why it was only in switch trailer. But c’mon if they can do giant manta and rhythm bird and party krill, I hope for ram horn mantatee.
Look what i found!
Where is this?
Most likely an OOB. Basically there's this distant island that can be seen from Home and when you table drive from Home long enough you can get there
This looks like the creature from the switch trailer
Thats right! It is! Apparently this was from the storyboard artist for the switch trailer. Im still lamenting the final version lacked the horns!
Because rams don't exist in Sky and TLP doesn't need ram.
whats this area tho
Just some desert
Or that arid web of rivers shown on switch trailer
That's where the starting cutscene took place, it's in the pins here
I think they meant like where the circled part is supposed to be in the Sky kingdom, because the temples for the realms are off to the right side, but that blank desert on the left I'm not sure
Maybe it represents what the world was like before the ancestors came here or something? Like before the stars fell or whatever?
You see now that makes sense
Oh that isn't a accurate map all of it is part of the animation. But in that desert looking place is where we fall innthe cutscene. I think it's isle since it's where we use to start in light awaits
Yeah I know it's just for the cutscene and not really accurate, but it's still a bit interesting just because it seems a bit out of place compared to the rest of it. But you're probably right about it being the desert in Isle
Something small headcanon:
the recharge spell is made of jellyfish excess glowing dust
Woah what??
they actually grow???
AHH I WONDERED IF THAT ISLAND WAS REACHABLE! Do you think it was cut out or if it will be added at some point?
me when i only just noticed that when you call down your friends' skykids there's a blue soul (like what you become when you die at the eden statues but follow another person still alive there) that appears coming down before the actual skykid is shown
this may not be that lore-y but i didn't know where to say it
Can understand you
It would be cool if krills could be purified
I WANT LORE LORE LORE LORE
We can go into the elemental significance of sky turtles, bats, spiders and lions.
I know about the first 3, but how do lions relate to fire?
hello lore chat. its been awhile
fire is a fierce, strong element which is a trait also associated with large cats such as tigers, lions etc
🦁also red mane
Lions represent strength more than the fire side of it. But their manes could be fire-ish. Or for Asian lion dogs, maybe the tails?
it's less about the animal itself and more the sort of associated traits they share really
I can’t really think of any real life animals that like to chill in fires though. Lions, prolly for their fiery and strong nature
Don’t forget how the emotes and animals connect. God, I love the prophets
Chest beating is more of a ape thing though....
it's also a sort of boasting/prideful sort of motion/action which fits well with the theme of lions
Roar emote when
True, can’t think of other ways to flex without flexing
roaring is less of a flex and more of an intimidation/scare tactic
Skykids learn to roar but because they are skykids they make squeaky noises
creb sound
so what's your idea on the spirit memories containing dark plants?
personally i feel like they probably symbolize negative feelings in the moment, or perhaps a hazy part of the memory
/cry spirit has a part where her friend got eaten by a dark plant
I had a dream that krill were sky children that were experimented on. No evidence to back that up but it's a nice fan canon.
In saluting captain’s spirit memory, we can see members of the ship leaving with life boats, but it is never explained where they went. It would be cool to see a season where we go to the place where those crew members went
There's a whole continent we haven't seen. We've only been on the peninsula.
Maybe that "whole continent" is outside the Sky kingdom altogether, which is why we don't get to see it
That moment when you realize and you actually realize how sad the backstory of your sky kid is, because of fact that he was forced to grow up quickly at such a young age in order to sustain him and his little sister made him forget also how to actually act like a kid—
headcannon: Valley elders are the “youngest” of the elders in a sense. They’re also the ones responsible for the crabs inside of the archives in vault lol
not sure if eden spoilers have to be tagged in this channel but i’ll do it anyway
||okok so eden statues, i feel like many have already mentioned this, but yk how when you die you become a statue essentially. and in the room, there’s another like you but bright. so that bright being is like another person giving their wing once you die. so that’s how you wake up. and when we go through eden, our goal is to give our wings. so basically, i think that’s how it’s like a cycle. everyone goes in to save the frozen ones, and will also become frozen in the process. but the originals, the very first who went in, what was it for? out of curiosity? perhaps sacrificial reasons to some higher being that may have been? i’m not the best at explaining things so i’m sorry if it’s hard to understand but it’s my take on what happens in eden. ||
||i think, all the statues you see were supposed to represent players and sky kids just like you who went in to give their wings and froze in the end. you become a statue, and the bright person you hug is supposed to represent another player, bringing you up and out. that’s why all those statues you see also break out, they’re the same as you, you and other people offered your wings and brought them up and out. this may be like an obvious concept to most so sorry if this kind of unsurprising to some but it just interests me||
No need to spoiler tag here
Judging from the switch trailer many years have passed till "now" so i wouldn't say that those kids are first ones.
The first skykids born after the fall might just be guided by elders to eden to save it.
why do crabs and krill have black particles? It happens when standing in water or when losing light. Does the black mean anything
The same black particles that spirit statues have crabs also have
@junior spire
Personally i think they are naturally formed just like there are holes in forest clouds too
Another theory was that there were a lot of boat traffic in wasteland so that's why there are so many holes
so that big orb you fly into before orbit is just a tiny part of megabird?
What happened to spirits that only appear in memories? (For example pointing candlemaker’s customers and confident sightseer’s child)
they died
I'm used to Eden anymore, but I'm afraid to go alone, because I'm afraid of losing wls going till the last part xD
It’s lore related, so ig not
They did in .... March, I think, right a couple of days after they were implemented in game
Sample of the sapling and the daily (bumbing 💓) mission of Days of Bloom
It seems it's the only thing I have left of those saplings🤷
At the top of the sky was an ocean called the Sea of Clouds. The Sea of Clouds divided the world above from the world below. From the world below, there was no way to tell that the Sea of Clouds was even there.
idk but imagine this in world of sky
Ohhhh how pretty
Do you think they will grow again around March next year?
Whats the lore behind daylight prairire? Like what did they do there, what are the bell things? I noticed theres wayyy more creatures of light there than any other realms, is there a reason for that?
are sky kids technically orphans.
Is winged light and Eden an allegory to the Christian idea of sacrifice or am I thinking too hard? I just watched this video and it hit too close to eden
https://youtu.be/SmhsSE1xA1g?t=6193
Also, can someone explain me the backstory of the our skykids?
whadda wanna know?
Skykids are a new race that the Megabird (which is either the sky god or a conglomeration of all souls in orbit currently, maybe both) created after one of the elders corrupted the land and caused the eden explosion....Then mysteriously vanished. Mega “blessed the land with a new race in hopes they will reconnect all souls” to megabird. But they are also made to reinhabit the land since all the people now are kinda dead. Free the dead people, be their friends, take their fashion, and continue where they left off. (And the occasional optional weekly violent death if you want to free your fellow skykids and have enough ac for more fashion)
Why dis kid named as king crab
Is king crab a little similar to this mask?
I know it's just concept art, just personally boring guessing
They kinda look like one tho
Crab shaped mask when
Those names are all based on how a player would name others. Maybe mr King Crab was playing with crabs when the theoretical player found them? Make a crab throne, and such.
My favorite is “youhere”
Great lore, may I have a look about the king crab
according to concept art and implications of the plots of the spirit memories there, it was a marketplace! or at least, many craftspeople worked there. ie: making bells, forging, smithing etc
Oooo thats cool, thank you!!
many theories say that the spirits whose memories you relive stayed behind voluntarily in order to allow their fellow spirits to move on and be reborn, as well as preserving the memories and culture for future generations. again, it’s just theory. but this also applies to the quest spirits (prophecy spirit, arc spirit) where you see the message “you have fulfilled a wish of this ancestor spirit” by reliving a certain memory.
I forgot to respond to your last question as well! so Daylight prairie is implied to represent childhood, it’s very sunny and full of life! the light creatures represent life and make it easier for your skykid to recharge as they go along, possibly representing the boundless energy of a child. the environment of prairie is also most accommodating for life: lots of sun, clear skies and pleasant weather, clear ponds and lush grass; no other realms have that! it’s a combination of multiple factors I believe
Ooohhh thank you so much!! That makes sense, thats rlly cool!
np!
No wonder, why many moths are there lol
In the Hebrew Bible, the constellations are considered God's heavenly host AKA actual beings that present to humans the signs of seasons, navigation, inspiration, etc. Also part of God's host where angels who fell, and corrupted humans and earth. Faery lore is also connected to fallen angels, and there is a lot of druid like stone structures (like two long upright stones and one going across at the top are druid portals) and those are all over sky. What if this is based on a post human apocalyptic world destroyed by evil fae/fallen angels?
thats really interesting :0
The opening cut scene.. "With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came, and the stars fell... Together, the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds. If only they had listened... A long time has passed. Now, I call to you. Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home.". The Bible def talks about a spiritual realm and that our realm is guided by spiritual principalities. They made their new home in the clouds so maybe it's not post human, but just another dimension. Because the secret area shows sign of humans. But I think considering the name Eye of Eden, they def took from biblical concepts. Although, I don't believe we ever get a redemption story for fallen angels in the biblical cannon.
according to concept art, there is a human realm and our realm in the sky. initial concepts involved a human city that could have been part of the game but was scrapped. it would’ve been a realm just like Prairie, Wasteland, etc. So it’s a parallel realm I believe. I think the portal placement for the ||Secret Area|| is intentional in that sense too
Now I’m realizing that a lot of those areas must be covered up by clouds now. We only get to see a little of the workshops and homes—the hills in the manta area are probably just the tips of large mountains (or bigger hills) that boasted lots of homes and businesses.
Secret area is far from canon. But the robot was a scrapped asset, he looks like old concepts, and the famous office poster. I adore the city rooftop and middle of lake city area to pieces. The idea that it was “leaving the real world and entering the world of sky”. In any cherrypicked versions I fantasize of, I admit.....I include that city lake rooftops as a hidden area in home.
I get shivers looking at it. I will combine it, redesign it, cherish it! The atmosphere is too good.
This picture is important by the simple fact I literally saw a statue BECAME DUST and they only left their leg….
Headcanon: in the kingdom of sky, its a tradition to light the candle on a bench or table before talking to a stranger
Are sky kid faces before purchasing any masks already a mask? Why must they have a mask on?
This is honestly a good question, by what can be tell, it’s mostly a sign that they hold light of some kind that a form of mimicking of the spirits and such. The frame of that is the body is able to hold in light on a dark substance that can also have said light projected on to it to form the overall look of the skykid that is not just the basic structure. The mask is included in this by the basic fact masks themselves usually are a sign of something in many parts of the kingdom as the Elders even wear them. These masks seem to be a resemblance to the People of the land and to fit the overall structure of the past people I think.
Also ANYONE HERE
Benches are prolly just a game mechanic
I know, its just a headcanon
Even though they Sky areas and structures was built stone age like, but the transportation in Sky and some functions shows that the humanity, citizens have great revolutionaries in technology. We can see their traditional yet revolutionary housings, villages.
I'm new here.
I found it really interesting how the only areas with 'industrial effects' (pollution, pipes, etc) are GW and Eden, which are the ones considered scary and dangerous. Especially being the only places with krill (excluding Sky Birthday Krill in the office)
are there any people with like their own hc reasonings towards that? I would love to hear
If you ask me, yeah, otherwise Idk why leaving the little sprouts
🤞
Probably not because real life stuff
hidden forest has pollution too! the toxic/acid rain, mining and cut down trees are also industrial effects
also personally i think it’s bc the resources/convenience of those locations were most abused and thus led to the most corruption
Ohh right! It slipped my mind since it was so easy to miss but now that you said it, that stands out to me.
corruption?
sorry I'm quite the moth when it comes to sky fan lore
and eden was mostly the epicenter of society and the dark crystals so the storm would logically be worse there
yeah things were corrupted/polluted as the spirit society used more of the resources in sky
Ooh inch resting,, would that have anything to do with Krills?
yeah krills used to not be evil (we can see this in the final mural in prophecy cave) but we don’t rlly know what exactly they used to do or be like
very very inch resting
do you know if there's any fan stuff I can read online or do I scavenge the depths of this channel
u can search this channel if u want but if u google sky cotl lore docs then u should get some results (:
I can’t wait to experience it for the first time!
Look at the pinned messages on this channel! It has a lot of lore Docs on there...Docs I haven’t even read in full yet myself lol.
If you need help finding the pinned messages, let me know 🙂
thanks!
Is there a reason why the rhythm spirits fly away on their bird instead of ascending into the sky just like all the other seasonal spirits in their season ending?
Was this an event that i missed? Wheres the spirit for this?
I would say that prairie was a storage/research area with a lot of rec places
Yes it’s the bloom event search it in yt
Ahh the Trees of bloom
Sip tea
The Tree that screams of pain
Origin of Skykids:
Skykids are made of a star in Megabird's body, which is a god constellation
The Megabird constellation has many stars, but when it uses all its stars to birth skykids, it loses control of the Sky kingdom and skykids will be permanently left to their own destinies until at least one skykid decides to return their star to the sky

Oh, that mask was the mask of the beta ver. Of forest elder, lemme grab some photos of them real quick
c-concept art forest elder??? 😳
CONCEPT FOREST ELDER MY BELOVED
Oh, and theres others, the top concept in this photo is my fav
i want that mask,,,,
Wow valley elders are so smol
Imagine if we had those masks like we get elder hair
I honestly want that mask
y-yes pls
i think that|| the child you meet after dying/alef the prince gives you your light back||
its what makes the most sense to me at least
Whats the story behind season of gratitude?
From what I remember there weren’t any story based seasons before enchant
Feel free to correct me
The first four seasons were kinda loose in that department ngl
i think lightseekers was about scholars and something to do with lights scattered across the realms, belonging was getting a family home for dinner and rhythm was finding the scattered members of the troupe? I have no idea about gratitude though
Gratitude I am just going to guess didn’t exactly give a story, just like ‘HEY, WE EXIST, FIND US.”
they were just happy to be there
you could say they were grateful
Just existing, like that one meme of them just suddenly appearing without any explanation and then disappearing like the Chads they were
Baobabs are what darkness plants are called?
comes to the realms of sky
adds shrines
refuses to elaborate further
leaves
I thought that it's default to think that anything blue colored is most likely dead
Actually yeah, I've seen it in their color palletes. Warm colors = blessed, Cool colors = cursed
I mean, the story is left purposely vague. But yeah, sometimes it's too vague.
And yes, I'm pretty sure the lack of closure in the game is intended because Sky:CoTL is just the beginning
It was a simple spirit in Home wearing a cape shaped like a cherry blossom🌸 and two hairtails tied with flowers and the Rhythms mask with the 2 down arrows (this was the only not unlockable cosmetics), plus a traditional asian short teatable on her back (the last one was IAP 💸 or at least a spell)
@dry ivy tagging you too
Hi guys.
Can anyone else confirm this? Otherwise it was a hiccup in the game.
In wasteland's battlefield area, you light up the diamond and the gate opens up.
While playing with a friend, we were messing around on the towers high above.
I went down to trigger the scene and watch krill, and my friend noticed the diamond up top turn red.
We could not get it to do it again due to server merges, and it we were tired.
Has anyone else managed to spot that big diamond flashing red?
I'll check it out when I get in the game
Thanks.
Why does it look like some sort of Lady Death lol
It’s funny how the elders looked more...primordial and stone agey, I guess?
Do you mean you’re tagging me so I can see the cherry blossom spirit?
Thanks! She looks so pretty
It’s also funny to learn that some of the early seasons that came before me were a little sparse on story, eh
From what I’ve seen from the concept art, Sky had more of this...ancient Stone Age Asia vibe? Sorta like the Last Airbender or something? It just has this different feel
The final designs have more of this...elegance to them. Like some LoTR elvish atmosphere kinda
once again I am trying to describe ineffable vibes and having a hard time of it lol
this looks sad, lore channel reduced to one person

This chat is very low comparate to one year ago, but there always have been moments of silence
One year ago, most of the times I wanted to share something there was either little partecipants or little attention in the crowd
Sooo, it this how a turtle looked like in Sky?
Or maybe closer to this? (Notice the resemblance
)
Woah they do look like turtles. I'd imagine they would have similar heads to the water prophet's mask.
True
Is it really that quiet? It seems pretty busy to me. I mean, we have moments of silence based on time zones, and people doing other things and the like.
But wow, it must of been really hopping at one point
Okay, seriously. I want to know why the cool down here is so long.
If our chat is a lot more quiet than the other chat rooms on here, I don’t think we need so long of a cool down
POV: You are the king and the prince got corrupted and took your trone. Is time for vengeance. Anyway who wants this on your PC
Okay, so I suppose this isn’t so much a lore thing as something I like to think represents the Sky lore well. It’s just too cool not to share. Let me know if you want me to remove this if this isn’t appropriate for the lore chat—I just thought my connecting the lyrics to the lore would interest you guys
I am a big fan of the musician, Cosmo Sheldrake. He’s this guy who makes really whimsical, unique music that I can’t compare to anything else. He takes a variety of noises from various places, from nature, animals, people, and things—bird calls, creaking doors, even a yodeler in one song!—and puts it together in music. It’s just sounds...so whimsical
I was listening to song of his the other day—“Mind of Rocks”—and the lyrics just reminded me of Sky for some reason, mainly of the Ancient’s past (with their poor decisions and poor thinking in abusing the land and its creatures). “Mind of Rocks” made me think of the stubborn mindset that might’ve brought them to such a bad end: and, well, they ironically get turned to stone.
“How the wise ones left / Surprised and disgusted” made me think of the Elders (though, they are also at fault for the bad state of things too)
It mentions a castle at many points, making me think of the iconic castle hanging in the air above the mountain
The sound clips of children laughing and the optimistic ending lyrics of “Let's cross over / Mix our hands / Let's grow stuff together” reminds me of the Sky Kids ushering in a hopeful future for the land of Sky, healing the land
I highly suggest giving it a listen—it’s really good

Anyway, thanks for coming to my musical TedTalk
すみません!日本人の方いらっしゃいませんか?💦
I'm sure there are, check the general chat and ask? This channel is more for lore discussion. I don't know enough Japanese to hold a conversation, but I know enough to understand your question.
There's alot Japanese people out here!!but we keep use English language here
That is from the book so most likely not canon
I mean… since we know about whurtles, it might be that there weren’t actually turtles, but because we only see the heads (on the boat and mask) we assume it is. So with whirtles we need to assume that turtle and whale refer to the same thing, although I might be taking this too seriously
Hello,
Have you guys ever wondering that skykid's core is something like a core from any stars? That's why the fire from candle that we always hold never been lit off except we're put it back in?
(Effect from having sleepless brain)
Ooooooo interesting…
And that could relate to friend constellations too
And we also have ability to absorp any kinds of light (example : shiny boi) so that we can be more stronger to make it be our energy to fly higher.
It's like the light itself in our sky kid's body been turned into an energy to make the pressure for the cape to flying higher
In conclusion, skykids are likely to be stars that the core itself has ability to absorp light to get bigger and stronger
It's a little dark but a friend of mine who is a big fan of lore in sky says that || graveyard in gw has turtle skulls and I think a shell||
Idk if that "helps" you much
If you check Duck Spirit location, there is one of those holes (the small one) which looks like the nose of a skull
I think the first 2 things in the graveyard look like a turtle shell and skull and the other looks like skull alone
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Follow the link to check the pictures I uploaded along time ago.
From what I could see the first "shell" we encounter in the boneyard (by sliding out from the broken temple) is hard to picture it as a skull only because they are set inside the sand with different angles
But I can picture/notice the same shape especially around that nose hole and from the vertical view
I can try to get some pictures of that but only if I remind it tomorrow

What if hide n seek pioneer was playing hide and seek right before the fall, the cave where her spirit is located might have been her hiding spot, but it got flooded and she drowned
Random not backed lore drop.
What if krills are multiple lost skykids molded together
imagine if eden was the original sky realm..
I remember seeing this area called ‘mental space’ somewhere official. Anyone remember where?
I think I saw that in a concept art collection
Its concept art, pieces can be seen on Tom Zhao’s site.......are......people posting it in fanart?
Uh oh
Sorry I accidentally typed fanart
😀 people are what- oh nvm
FOUND SOME UH CONCEPT ART I LIKE AND FIND INTERESTING
"Trapped souls/creature"... So following the corpse-plant theory, saying that darkness grows off of dead light creatures, the darkness can also tend to swallow the souls of those animals too?
Those versions do look more like....stomachs
Did someone say.. Corpse Plant Theory
Is PNR and Eden in general a hot place or a cold place? Seems like a place with extreme weather, but what sort?
light and warmth is more associated with good/not corruption here so id assume that it’s super cold with all those howling winds
Ok next question: Why are Eden rocks red and not blue?
the diamond at pnr is red and i personally think they’re like fragments of it
i find the harsh red a much more like. actively hostile than the muted blues of other dark related things in sky
Oooooooh...
Here’s the other part
yes I have all pieces of concept art saved to a single album
Omg yes! I was in forest the other day and come along/the moss came on and I was thinking the exact same thinng
Ahh! Hello fellow Cosmo fan!
Those two songs are perfect for the Forest, haha
cosmo is very underrated in my opinion haha
Yeah, but that’s also one of the reasons why I like him too hehe
Which song of his is your favorite?
Would anyone here be willing to talk about Alef/Resh? I’m horribly deprived of Eden elder content
birrthday suit
Ooh yeaaa! That one is so short but such a fun little ditty. 🎵
yess wbu?
I love the little gremlin noises in it
Hmm...that’s tough! I guess Come Along, as I love the mysterious, whimsical, slightly ominous vibes. It was what made me really fall in love with his music
Wiggle is also so infectious—it makes me feel like a kid again
Ahhhh, but I also like Egg and soldiers a lot. Its about food, as well as a warning against not thinking ahead in the Long run!
Uh… hello? Is this not the chat to discuss lore?
Hehe, sorry. We got sidetracked by music (I shared a song earlier that reminded me a lot of Sky’s lore). This indeed is the place to discuss deepest lore! Welcome
Okay, sorry
I’m just really deprived of Alef/Resh content and I wanted to talk about it here with others. It’s been forever since I checked on the server
No need to be sorry!
I love talking about the King/Prince!
Same, I just wish we knew more about him. He seems to be at the center of the rise and fall of the kingdom. Like, was he led by greed and power or was he influenced by others? Was the kingdom succeeding and advancing because of his own ideas or was that just a coincidence of timing with him coming into rule? Is it possible the cutscene of the ushering ancestor Alef appears in it as a fallen star found by them?
Join King Propaganda!
Is that an actual thing?
Y e s
Most of the people here are part of it, and if you like the King, you should definitely join. I can give you an invite link if you want
Heck Resh all my homies hate Resh
Why though?
Crappy ruler
Corrupted and evil

Explain how Megabird is way nicer
PLEASE LET ME JOIN I AM DEPRIVED OF ALEF/RESH CONTENT
Oki wait
Doesn’t throw lightning bolts at people
Lets us respawn when we die
Slick as heck design
It’s not letting me send the link
I am not immune to propaganda lol
Megabird’s design isn’t as good as the King’s design
Honestly, I like them both, but I definitely want to learn more about Resh than megabird. Deeper, spicier lore
Nice, I’m asking someone to invite you so just wait a moment
oh I think their DMs are closed
Huh? My dms are open
Hmmm

weird
It seems I am in fact immune to propaganda
Can you try to dm me
maybe discord’s just being a jerk again
It won’t let me message you… what…????
Check your dm permissions or whatever they’re called
I checked and yeah, anyone can message me
I’ll try to friend you so I can send it, is that fine with you?
But why can’t Megabirb save the spirits themselves? After all, they are prolly a deity. Why do they need children to do it instead of adults or smthng
c h i l d l a b o u r
Sips tea Hey want to hear about the Mega bird candle theory?
Also Mune can you give me that link, I just support the King on lazy level
Sure
Thanks
Sorry I haven’t been online recently, was farming. Anyways, where are my 175 hearts Baudshaw
Wow it’s still 175? I thought it was like 200 by now
For now

because adults are dumb, just ask the Little Prince he'll tell you all about it
What about the other adults? Those 6 are just a tiny percent
crapimrunningoutofmeganpropaganda
Megabird has no idea what is going on, they just exist as one giant star that accepts people into it and has form a lot of beings, living mostly and they can come back from the dead, as spirits but can’t remember or be aware of themselves since their light is sealed away.
hah

Sir would you like to hear about Megabird crimes?
Say it
Alright so
Abandoning Children
Allowing of their own kind to die unattended
Not acting or helping in any real way for many of their relatives
Causing massive destruction by the actions of doing of evil plans
Being a scammer
And more…
are the turrets supposed to be this flat
it's like someone cut through king with a 10000 degree knife
Wait, can I join?
Sure
Thanks!
Np

I have a headcannon that ties into that theory
There are 2 basic components that create a living.. person??
A soul and a body.
For skids, winged lights are the soul and their bodies are in Eden
Still haven't tied it to the game mechanism of how the freeing happens though
So basically, for an incorporeal being like Megabird to help the corporeal ones it's gonna need a physical body
Guess where skid light came from?
Besides, Megan's main problem right now is, I assume, the King. I always thought of the phrase said in the opening sequence of "Now bring our lost stars home." are both the Ancestor Spirits and other skids
We are the help
But there are still holes in the theory
Feel free to poke at them
Color theory
Red is a much more aggressive color while Blue is cool and passive. I mean, didn't Eden used to be blue? They probably used red because it conveyed their message more accurately
Yea, Old beta eden was blue
Oh for god sake why we have timer now-
hi everyone, im pretty new to the game and im very interested in Sky's general law with its no-word storytelling style. So, please anyone give me a brief look of what actually Sky is about? What happens after Eye Of Eden? Where are the lights that we sacrificed going? Will there be official spoilers/information in the future?
Because all i was given so far is we have to return the lights and do the "cycle" of the game. I know its the nature of a multiplayer game, but all the lore behind Sky is so interesting.
Because adults are odd, but gods are odder
Sky is about building friendships and helping spirits elevate
i dont recommend going in deep but basically; sky kingdom died, u help the lost spirits and elders ascend, and u ascend urself through eden, there ur given a choice of rebirth. the end
If your game crashes while in orbit, do you reappear in Home?
Where?
isnt that the islands in home?
Yes
Congrats, you found the original game intro (which we watched just the first time we logged in the game) located in a remote island at north of HomeSpqce, around the start of Assembly (iirc) devs changed the intro to be inside the first Isle Of Dawn tunnel
Wow, that's something new for a daily
Hope everyone could achieve it or found help to do it
L to you, candle farming is bad
?????
You know how they say God works in mysterious ways ✨
Maybe if it just swooped in and saved everyone, the Spirits and/or Skids would not learn something important or grow in some way?
Sky is about leaving an impression on others long after you leave, just as the npcs (spirits, ancestor elders, etc.) did
I don’t get you but since it’s been days I am increasing the hearts to 200. Where are my 200 hearts Baudshaw
Maybe Megabird isn’t a sentient thing at all, but more just a name for the massive swathe of souls/origin of life. Like the Force. Or a Galaxy.
Heh, or like the Transformers Allspark (not the Michael Bay cube version, the swirly afterlife one shown in Beastwars and stuff)
Just another sign of megabird being weak
(check my about me section)
we are all Megabird
Prolly
Though really the Spirits probably have the spark of the Megabird too. It’s probably the breath of life, in a sense
Fineeee, gather around the bonfire, I'm going to play a lullaby for you!
The lullaby never came
Is that so
sorry (ーー;)
Be careful from the next time !!
Same

Why is everyone askin for invites
Where are my 200 hearts
Maybe kind of an odd question. But I would like to learn more about the worm creatures from the trail of fire, because I want to make a drawing of them. These guys —>
What are they made of? Is there any lore?
=
💨💨💨

Maybe
Or they’re not real based by the ‘Trials are not real’ theory
Ooo that’s a cool theory if they’re not “real” what are they then?
I always thought we were reliving the trials through the prince / golden childs eyes in the mural.. almost like a dream
Ye, I also think its a dream thing since we meditate and then we somehow went to another place
Teleportation is not impossible in the sky universe
Can’t help you much but if you go to the second part of fire trial, there’s an area where you can safely watch them flying around! I like going there a lot
Thank you so much! I didn’t know this!
They come in a pair and one flies above, or one comes and arches up before going down
in the third part there’s a bridge where they pass under
I am a veteran worm watcher/j
Is it where the stairway goes to the end of the trail?
The first picture is the second stairway, not yet end of trial. The bridge is the end of trial stairway
Here is the bridge
sooooo simply put i am unable to get the trees?
if it takes place after the book, we know that the little prince ||is bitten by a rattlesnake||(spoiler alert for book), and the ending is up for interpretation ||with either the boy dying or somehow is revived on his home planet, so i think the sky season assumes the boy survives but the rose watches over him as he continues his journeys. like, directly after. less then days after.||
So does this mean the Prince is a Spirit too?? He seems pretty...corporeal
fan theories split in two from where the book ends. one ||the boy dies on the spot||, two ||the poison returned him home somehow||. the season is based off of the second ending i think
first ending theories focus on the pilot, while second ending theories focus on the boy (planes in sky CoNfIrMeD)
I like to think that he indeed returned home somehow
Wasn't the pilot crash landed and then reached a well in that desert?
||he was dying of thirst before some random rescued him.||
From the patch notes.."If a group leader shouts at crabs and flips them over for a quest, the other players holding hands in the group do not automatically receive quest credit without also shouting and flipping crabs over. This is currently working as intended. The forces of darkness demand that you shout at them to complete a quest."
Who are the forces of darkness that we are doing these quests for? Or that are "demanding" for us to do their bidding??
Just some added flavor to patch notes, nothing important
@high bison Y O U
YOU DARE DISRESPECT THE KING
FOR THIS HERSEY YOU SHALL BURN

unless I'm not allowed to do that anymore and in that case I'll just do nothing
How was daylight prairie destroyed?
|| is being reborn in Sky a result of another Sky child giving us light in the exact same way we did to others at Eden before the storm takes us? To us it might seem immediate, but I think that what we do for the children turned to stone at Eden is exactly what’s done to us, and is what allows us to be reborn. However, it seems instantaneous, like waking up from a coma. After freeing trapped spirits for so long, ours is freed by someone too. Is that how it works?||
Eden spoilers ^^^^^^
Could be...
|| That seems like the only viable explanation for why we’re giving light to Sky children. It might seem like we are always reborn immediately, but someone else giving you light seems like a logical push to allow you to do so ||
Maybe, we haven’t seen anyone teleport in Sky yet
portals in home?
Good point
I think a dev added that in there as a joke lol
Some people also like the theorize that the pilot simply hallucinated the Prince in the desert
And yeah, the Prince helped the pilot find a well!
Theory: the entrance to "Starlight Desert" is actually a large memory lamp that when you stare into it long enough, allows you to enter a hallucinated world where you can find the prince and do stuff with him
That’s a cool idea, but how though are we able to see the Prince outside of this lamp? (We see him all over the Sky world)
The entire Skyworld becomes a hallucination after gazing into it long enough
Not just where the lamp is
...Did you change your name to reference that weird recent quest glitch in the game? Hilarious 😆
This is some Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box-level theory here
I dunno, I find it more plausible that he’s real, but I can see what you mean tho!
This is what you get for talking to someone who drinks too much espresso (just kidding i dont drink coffee)
Me neither, but I can sure act like I drink caffeine lol
If it is a lamp, then I wonder why the Ancients made such a lamp in the first place
Did they have a Saint Exupery person in their universe who decided to write this “book”, but make it an immersive experience, hehe?
- Because someone had a weird dream and thought of sharing it
- Because the spirits who made it lost faith in Alef
Wait, why would they make the LP story because of their disillusionment with the king?
That's a joke
A Prince fix fic?
Haha, whoops. Leave to me to mangle a joke
I do have another theory though.
Tessellation Theory
The Starlight Desert is made of parts of the space-time fabric overlapping with each other, which is how 6 asteroids (the 6 grown up planets) that are usually far from each other and the Sky kingdom are much closer now.
Why would the spirits tesselate?
The Vault Scholars' attempts to travel to outer space failed, but they were able to find out how to manipulate the space-time fabric, so they essentially brought outer space to them.
Are the guides from holiday events (such as days of summer guide) spirits that died during the fall or are they just an event thing
We honestly don’t know since it seems they just come over the seasonal amount of time in real life and just go and come back when it’s seems
The spirits might have died during the fall
bald sorbet cookie. theres no clear way to tell whether a spirit died before, during or after the fall. but theoritically, spirits like SGs(season guide) and event guides like bloom spirit, likely died before the fall as they lack the conditions u have to do for regular spirits to be able to interact with them, which is to save them.
lol

Yeah that’s exactly what I thought
Though mayhaps being a Megan Follower is punishment enough
It may be a punishment, but Megan Supporters won’t feel like they’re being punished
Is it a blessing?
Maybe it’s kinda like Spirited Away
The veil between the spirit world and physical world is thin, and they can intermix! I
Eden statues
ACK I watched that movie as a kid

(I still have it on DVD I think)
I’ve always wondered who the statues represent
I think they're the Vault elder
It’s been said here many times they’re like the vault scholars
Makes sense
Hi

Hi!
what is dark water in a nutshell?
Water but dark
sewer water
Anyone notice that when viewed from above, the vault elevator somewhat resembles the king’s head? It may be a coincidence, but it is undoubtedly interesting
Prince wears a mech suit??
Ooh that's kinda interesting
Can you guys link me any and all documents and bigger theories I can gobble up. I want to dive headfirst into the rabbithole. No such thing as too much info, can't overwhelm me
where are my 200 hearts
Also, maybe cause if you look at one of King’s concept arts there’s a kid silhouette as the ‘eye’
cosmic manta in starlight desert suggests that the whole place is still within vault's influence. u never went outside of vault
Hello new Lore Moff!

Is the material of the cape a type of feathered wing or is it just a cloth that acts as a parachute? The cape goes up or down depending on the players arm position and if leaning in any direction, does that mean parts of the cape is connected to the actual body or is it just following body movements as cloth does
i wasn't sure of where to ask but since it's lore related ill ask here
so ive seen
is sah but
has two variations : mek / mekh, is there a reason for it having two variations?
They are two twins, so maybe its to differ from which twin you want (although its not very different)
Does anyone what caused daylight prairie to be destroyed
personal headcanon, each elder used to be maintaining their realms, either via blessing or other means (guiding spirits, taking care of light creatures, forging tools, etc).
Since the temples are no longer tended to, the regions began to show signs of ruin/neglect/corruption.
Since the ancestors are no longer living in the realms, or because the elder are no longer able to maintain their realms, the darkness is able to spread as the buildings are crumbling into ruins.
Say, I was reading through the patch notes (can't wait to see the next event and season 🙂 )
There was an interesting detail at the very end of the notes:
The forces of darkness demand that you shout at them to complete the quest.
This was part of a confirmation that it is not a bug that a skykid holding hands would not complete the daily quest of flipping crabs if the leader was the only one shouting at them. Meaning you have to do the shouting yourself to complete the quest, your friend cannot do it for you.
That aside, it is the "forces of darkness" part that got me thinking
Why would the daily quest be from forces of darkness rather than light?
Is it because the spirits are not yet ascended to orbit, thus making them not yet part of the light.
Or was it just a red herring from the devs?
Either way, it would be interesting if these daily quests are not part of the path that the megabird focuses on for the skykids.
Basically if they are from the Forces of Darkness, it mostly may just so to say that’s a way to just balance out the darkness of the land. Each day the darkness comes back from the grounds of the past and we clear them out for what light we give back to balance the world I guess.
possibly.
I never thought about how the daily quests tie into the lore.
since they afe mostly there to give players something to do every day to earn candles.
For skykids, it wouldn't be a suprise for them to make up tasks or chellenges among themselves. Though that would be more likely chalked up to their behaviour mixed with that of players than a critical lore fact that drives the whole plot.
What is important about candles in sky?
Other than being a light source and symbol for a skykid's life in the game, it is also an important symbol for the megabird's light.
While a candle can drive away darkness, it will eventually burn out. While one candle can barely light up a whole room, several candles put together would.
In reality, we typically use candles whenever we have no other light sources (for instance a power outage, or emergency). So it is a last resort in times of need, as well as one that people relied on for many years.
Is a skykid making candles important to the lore, or is it just a detail that ties them to the megabird and their role in the game as a small and temporary light source?
Candles seem to at least come in two types to say the least by what I seen, the White candles and the red candles. White candles represent many things in the game, but most people probably know the gift candles we give to each other to unlock more stuff to show expression and such. This can tie into the other smaller white candles that seem to reveal murals or play out events depending on how they’re were made. White candles mostly involve the expressions of others and activity of memories as well communicate from them, white candles are a limited power source that reveals and unlock expressions of some kind for the most part, like with the chat benches, Making friends and unlocking more friendship abilities, getting expressions from spirits and lighting small candles for murals and such
Red candles are more difficult to say since they are not exactly for anything except wax and such, but they at least be determined to involve with souls and power by the fact all Sky kids have one, and they are used to light up the world around them, providing power even for a brief time. Red candles are a reminder of the past to say of where spirits been to do actions and such or meeting and the wax that comes from it is a leftover light many had even in small amounts I guess and Candle cakes are just massive collections of these leftover remains of light that gather into on giant pillar of candles on the right times or just where many have been.
I honestly don’t know
you may be on to something there.
It is true that the colour of the candle has importance to the game.
White candles seem like a precious or cherished item. It is part of revealing murals, they are in the elder temples, skykids use white candles to grow friendships (with spirits and other skykids), they are part of chat benches and the overall currency of the game (3 candles for hearts, more candles for spells and used to replace candles at chat benches).
Red candles on the other hand seem to last a bit longer than white candles, they are seen throughout the world as we collect wax, we hold out red candles to light things (which also burns out eventually as the skykid holds it out long enough).
There are other types of candles such as seasonal candles, though they turn into white candles after a season. So they are likely a festive version of a white candles that are reserved to trade within the season.
There are the ascended candles too, though these are mentioned to be more valuable than normal candles (despite there being little use for them other than buying some spells, unlocking wing buffs and friendship levels). They are the hardest to collect in comparison to other candles as these are renewed once a week, yield the least amount of candles per run, and the skykid is required to sacrifice their winged light to obtain it.
Since they play a major role in the game mechanics, it is not unlikely for them to have some importance in the lore.
The most I could gather about candles in lore, are they are a currency among skykids, and possibly the ancestors (or have some importance to them), and the skykid is able to forge new cnadles from the wax of other candles. Which further supports them being not human based on them working with fire on a regular basis and able to keep them in their little bodies.
Hey @nimble ingot, did you get enough sneep snorp today?
Skybot your going to be send out flying again
what if the kids who don’t get stars back are the krills? think about it.
we do see in the concepts that the large dark creatures (which resemble krills) are actually souls trapped in the darkness, and that we could free them with candles by burning the darkness
how cool ! krills really are special creatures .
Maybe thats why they guard eden, cos they don't want you to become what they are?
i think they just want there light back. also it is more likely that the current krill are elder creatures like whales, or the large manta in sanctuary, or the thing that we see the ancestors ride in the switch promotion video that have been corrupted with darkness. WHAT IS THIS SLOWMODE
I have a question absihfe would it be possible for like the cores of spirits (the things we burn to revive their memories) to be somewhat related to the dark plants we burn too ?
They have a similar texture to that of dark plants, the leave wax like them too.
And I think they also count as burning dark plants in the quests (though may need to test it to be sure).
I figure thats like, the corruption that was trapping them from being free. Darkness crust they got caked in like ashes.
I noticed when we go to eden and fully recharge our capes (on the statues with no dark water) our skids emit ash particles
Haha- corpse plant theory flashbacks
Ups
Hi Baal
Hi Klee
Lol
anyone have the skychild chart
Eh? We were given a choice? How and when? ||There weren't any notifications showed up in orbit saying you are about to be reborn yes or nah like before the pnr||
Just don’t go to Eden lmao
/hj
I always thought of it as cloth, but something that is an extension of the Skid’s bodies. Playing Journey, it’s main character seemed to be made out of cloth—I imagine it as a cloth being containing light. Although I think Skids are made up different materials (maybe rock or clay or something), it’d make sense to me that “living cloth” made of or containing light stuff is a part of their biology.
Holy. Burrito. Theory
Oh hi Priest of Holy Burrito, been so long since I’ve last seen u
Wow, we have a priest?? Greetings, your burrito holiness.
I am not the Holy Burrito, but I do preach their gospel. Be blessed, my child
King still superior lol
What do you guys think the Skids are made of?
I imagine holding their hand would be like holding a nice cozy warm clay hand—it’s not harsh or too hard to the touch, but like holding the hand of a warm statue almost?
Or maybe it feels like fabric, like a doll’s hand
I think it would be like clay
Wait a second doesn’t water help clay to keep its form and stuff? Fire makes it brittle 🤔
What about their hair? Would it feel like human hair? I bet it feels really silky and fluffy though—it never gets dirty
All skykids are modeled after the Holy Burrito—with tortillas keeping them warm in flight, to the fact that water makes them soggy and powerless. Their hair is lettuce, their eyes beans, and rice peaks out of their belly buttons. They are reflective of the divine perfection.
Maybe its made out if light if u’re following the all cosmetics aee made out of light
Cool, skids are food. Tasty (/j)
Well maybe it’s magic clay
Or their biology includes water like ours
No wonder krills love to eat them
Fast food
All things make sense when considering the Holy Burrito Theory 😌
BEAN
Yea, I think a lot of their biology is made of light—they can change their form when given the power to do so (no need to cut hair or wait for it to grow! Just metamorphosis
Hmmm
So when hurt, their bodies turn dark since the light that warms their clay bodies as well as gives them features is at risk of poofing out
And I imagine their body temperature drops considerably too
Maybe their body warmth changes depending on how their feeling
The happier they are, the warmer they are
If sad or feeling unwell, their body temp drops
Why do our bodies never shatter, just become burnt-out shells of charcoal or someting?
Good question! Hmm...maybe it is not pure clay. It’s mixed with other things? Like maybe it’s light infused clay—it makes the material stronger. It’s like a cicada shell perhaps—the light leaves, so the “shell” hardens and loses color.
Because burritos never shatter, they just burn or get eaten or get remade (reborn).
Raw burritos
Hi lore chat
Though wait...do our souls get trapped in stone tho. We can’t go to Eden unless someone helps us..?
So maybe that means light doesn’t = soul like I originally thought...
Hello
Hullo!
Howdy
Hmmmmmmmmmm... it's commonly accepted that our light is our soul, but I guess even if we lose our light, we have to keep our memories SOMEHOW...
Maybe our memories are engraved into the insides of our body and then activated when we get light again? sorry if this sounds squeamish
Hmmm
Skids have a heartbeat
Do they have organs
Or maybe their inner light pulses like a heart. That core they pull candles out of is their light heart
If you took a skykid's core candle away from them and took it too far from them, would their body become inert? (inspired from Do Not Throw Souls)
Likely. That seems pretty nearly to be what happens in Eden
Okay, I have a question… what exactly happened to the Sky kingdom? Of course, something clearly went wrong near the Eye of Eden. But, what about the tranquil fields of the Daylight Prairie? Why are there trapped spirits there?
We have no idea, there’s no canon lore that said about the Fall
Tho there are theories about Eden exploded, pollution, war, etc.
In my headcanon daylight prairie probably suffered from storms
That seems plausible! In the region of the Forgotten Ark, we do find out that a storm containing krill wrecked it and another vessel
Basically ok, The cloak is just A collection of Winged light of around the realms
I am adding this to the note of the elements of Sky, since it also seen that Krill are among clouds and we only see them in dark brewing storms in drawings and hiding among the water.
Maybe
Hmm...maybe the candle isn’t their core. More like their core can make candles, perhaps?
Ohhh yeah I forgot about that. We skids are born with wings. Skids obviously do have the biology made for wings, but it must be gained by winged light
Hm! They can’t seem to just wander in direct sunny daylight huh
Dows direct sunlight hurt them? (Though obviously you still get sunlight even when it’s cloudy. Science.)
Well I think they collect around places of darkness and aren’t effected by sunlight, they just really like darkness and they don’t like beings of light since it disturbs the natural peace they are used to in where they may patrol, they actively don’t hunt Sky kids, only bothering when others are in their spaces. Like fog you could say, it settles for a time and just exists, it can be displayed by light, but not fully as it tries and feel the space as it passes by
So this makes krill different from the Journey guardians, who are merciless hunters
They are also robotic in nature, powered by cloth creatures. Krill seem to be creatures of their own, having a territorial instinct
It is quite eerie to think that the Journey Ancestors put a likeness of their own faces on their Guardians
A vestige of their power and choices, indeed
aren't krills corrupted versions of another creature? Like a whale?
Maybe. That’s one theory
I was just saying that krill seem to be animals vs the man made killer robots Journey Guardians are
I have fun comparing and contrasting the two games hehe
Though some theorize that krill maybe are robotic since their noises seem awfully machine like
I don’t know which is scarier: the sound of krills passing over you or the Guardian ominous noise in doing the same
However maybe they sound like, but perhaps it is more of an insect noise—the creaking of a giant cicada lol
I wonder if we can compare the two sounds: did TGC reuse assets or was inspired by the former in making the krill? Or made new sounds entirely?
Krill are known as Dark Dragons, they are dark by color and by nature seem to be from darkness, but doesn’t mean they are evil. Dragon by the several roots of the term mean a mythical like creature, something of a creation to say the least and it seems that Krills origins mostly came from darkness of kind. They probably can easily be rooted to legends for the past spirits, but actually just come from the the loosed element and it’s knowledge on Golden Wasteland and Eden since from the Fire Trial, it can be said that the Red eye Hazes are a lesser version of the Krill
Im happy, no darkness mosquitoes made it to final cut.
And I wonder what real life sounds TGC used to make the krill and guardian sounds
They do sound a little machine like, don’t they? Prominently scouring over spots of the game which have pipes and oily bits no less
I have a theory about the nature of darkness
Blue and red are both associated with darkness, but here is how to distunguish them
Blue is docile darkness/natural darkness
Since Sky has a duality theme, it can be assumed that at least SOME darkness is natural (dark plants in Forest)
Red is hostile darkness/corruption/unnatural darkness
Corruption is darkness created artificially by ancestors that went out of control and caused the Storm that plagues Sky. Red darkness is darkness that can attack you, make you lose wings. The fact that it's red (a warm color) implies that the creator of this darkness used to be part of the light (associated with warm colors and connection)
It sounds like stone plates kinda clacking together. But, also they have shrimpish plates that might clack together anywho.
Mosquitos???

Yeah I was thinking so
its kinda like a rock tumbler noise
Hang on I’ll go find the terrible dark mosquito
Oh wow!! I never thought about it like that
And it’d make sense that the ancients tried to use darkness and messed up rather than darkness being some evil thing in the first place
So this mean one thing, Krill are super Armored Monsters that are hard to Kill…. bruh I see why the Soldiers failed
It’s...It really is quite intimidating. When they hover over you, you feel like the kids stuck in the kitchen with the raptor in Jurassic Park
Grabs out holy shotgun
Murder that insect
This is going off the theory of the Krills being robotic.
Maybe the Krill were meant/created to be protectors since they are found patrolling certain areas.
The darkness corrupted them, so instead if them protecting people/skykids they attack them.
I more of the theory that the Krill's has more of an armor shell caused by darkness, hence why it sounds kinda robotic. It's similar to the crystals in Eden that drain sky kids' of light
i mean there is that one concept art of the dying/freed dark creature
it had a light inside it
Woah the turret seems really cool, and the terrible creature seems just uncanny enough to be terrifying
AGHH THE MOSQUITO VERSION IS MUCH WORSE

WOAH THEY ADDED SWITCH TRAILER CONCEPT ART TO PINS!!?!?
And that hoard of crabs pulling down the skid is horrifying
Edit: HORRIFYING. WHY WOULD IT BE GLORIOUS.
Yeah that one caught my attention too. It had this real...alien vibe to it that is different from the more Stranger Things mosquito lol
Like it could look pretty with its eye shut—it looks like a statue of the ancestors or something—and then the eye POPS OPEN
I mean they do make excellent patrols, notably near the kingdom’s heart
the concept art in question
I thought the first pic's caption was "hotdog"
the way you say that reminds me of BOTW guardian. still and then suddenly alive and out to kill you
Awww
It actually is quite pitiful looking dying. And such a tiny little light made this whole mass of darkness move, goodness
Mhm
Gosh darn it I feel bad for the little dude now
Hmm! That’s a good theory. Maybe robotic or more like controlled animals
Its the exact same thing as sonic. Free stupid cartoon animals from enemies.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Even if they were creatures of light, I still feel like they had some role of being protectors of some sorts.
Why would Krills patrol certain areas of certain maps? What was their purpose before the corruption?
I like that idea! But the question is—what did they protect the ancients from?
🎶Stack a caravan stack a caravan stack a caravan on its back, learn to care for it, learn to depend on it, your life is done if it should attack🎶
Maybe, if we are accepting darkness as part of the ecosystem, they regulated darkness, maintaining the balance. They eat dark plants or something??
I just want to say that Sky Light and darkness seems to have a duality of it just existing to allow the world to be alive in the parts that have more light creatures I guess, it can be overbearing as there is imbalance in the sources of the main lights for the kingdom, the elements lights that can be seen in Prophecy.
...is this a reference to something?
I like the idea of putting a caravan on a friendly krill’s back

Reference to nintendo trailer
Do you think the Eye of Eden was a power source, or some attempt at returning the fallen stars to the Light in orbit? Something bad happened, and it turned all the dark dragons (who maybe were supposed to balance out the light) against the Sky kingdom?
Maybe, it's hard to say
Do we seem images of the Krill in their current form on any of the glyphs scattered throughout the world?
I think so, but I want to make sure.
Maybe the darkness was originally armor but the corruption caused it to fuse with the body, cause I don't know about you but any time I hear a krill go past, it sounds painful
Yes we do, Prophecy and Enchantment Murals
Stacka caravannn🎶
Forget Eden, krill, and the nature of light and darkness in the Sky Kingdom. Caravan bull manta thing is the most important lore thing we must discuss right now
Yes
Im just mad they TOOK ITS HORNS
WHY IS THE FINAL VERSION ALWAYS MISSING THE COOLEST THINGS.
Okay, now imagine armor on it...
Armor created in the Hidden Forest, and the corruption caused it the fuse to the creatures body.
Or and this gets a bit darker, these creatures were experimented on due to the war or even before then. There's a lot of technological stuff throughout the world, safe to say experimentation isn't out of the question.
Imagine melting the dark off a krilly to get a surprise toy inside of one of these fellas.
“It’s alive! It’s aliiiiiiiiive! Wait, dude, is the light beam supposed to be re- EKADEBAOFIEHDD”
Whatever, TGC decides against the coolest horns ever that make sense to current krills away into the garbage bin. I will just headcanon it. Manta-tees being pre corruption krill with massive honkin horns is 100% kamconian canon.
Staring quietly at how many corpses there are
And now, here’s my interpretation on the introductory narrative:
“With the stars united, our light was infinite.” The Light up in space was a meeting of many of the stars in the cosmos, as in, light beings and stuff.
“But darkness came, and the stars fell…” Some bad, unknown threat attacked it. Stars are surrounded by darkness by default, so this must’ve been something unnatural.
“Together, the fallen stars made a new home in the clouds.” The light beings flung from the Light settled in the clouds below and created the Sky Kingdom. They created an incredibly powerful object, the Eye of Eden, to raise them back up to the Light.
“If only they had listened…” The elders failed to heed to warnings of creating mass sources of light with no darkness to counter-balance and contain its fire. It started tearing up and consuming everything around it to eat up all the light for itself.
“A long time has passed.” The Light, seeing how the Sky kingdom fell apart, knew not what to do. And thus even the denizens of the outskirts of the kingdom had their light snuffed out.
“Now, I call to you.” With time, those within the Light made up their minds. They created vessels, or children, of their light, and sent them down to the kingdom of Sky.
“Wake up, child. Bring our lost stars home.” In the kingdom of Sky, the children of the Light are the only ones who can return the light to those trapped without any.
I never knew that the light seekers symbol was related to a hand sign language! Which begs the question.. were the light seekers the capturers and protectors of the floating orbs and could they have possibly fallen into the wrong hands? I.e the scholars in the vault of knowledge who used them to create spells. I have a theory that the king was informed of the power of the orbs and asked the scholars in the vault of knowledge to research and form a spell that could create a light source similar to orbit. It would mean that his kingdom would no longer be dependant on the megabird and her light (i call it “her” because she have Mother Nature vibes) and therefore be worshipped like a god. Instead it backfired and caused a world of destruction, this is also why I think the vault elder looks so sad and remorseful, they took it too far, too far to be taken back.
The enchanters actually help in creating and making spells and storing them away or so
When Slouching Soldier was in beta, their existence invited a lot of lore in because of the fact that he drank dark water.
Before them, our assumptions were that Ancestors were as aware of the dangers of dark water as we are, but it seems that may not be the case.
Shall we get into the lore of this?
My theory from enchantment and how it’s depicted on the murals is that the scholars on the boat are the same enchanted spirits who became stranded on the so called island
Dark water is sky’s equivalent to poison.. in the little prince book the drunkards poison is alcohol. I cant see how it goes any deeper than that tbh it’s the only equivalent they could use to make sense of the little prince story
Where did the rhythm spirits go after flying away on their bird?
imagine if the corpse plant theory was true and the slouching solider didn't realize he was drinking his fallen brothers and sisters
WHAT THE HO-
anyways, what do the chains represent?
Trapped by their own thoughts
Trapped by adulthood
Isolation
*insert deep lore here ehehe
or its their addiction showing
How they are all chained to their ideals and beliefs, how their way of living is the only way they know and they are not open to move away from those thoughts or processes, it’s definitely an addiction in one form or another
Id highly suggest reading the little prince book, i don’t think any of the little prince content can be used as lore tbh sky and the little prince universe have many similarities but all of the spirits were highly influence by the books
Spirits are certainly very, very odd
Same goes to ThatSkyBot.

does anyone have a headcanon explaining ab where did krills really come from, are they a creature purely from darkness or was there an origin to them tho
||or are they just a full grown version of chibi||
I got a response that changed my perception of the gold in Sky. I thought it represented the extraction of light from nature based on the purposes of all of the structures that incorporate gold into their design.
I like that the sandcastle is of the Eden temple
It does?
I have not seen it in home yet (game keeps crashing and I think the days of summer castle is not yet in live, right?)
one could say it's a chibi temple :3
Does the sandcastle also look a bit like a throne?
(saw the little pnr tunnel, good find @buoyant crater )
it kinda does, yeah. Atm, goofing off with other players, they're dancing over my body
I love how the Corpse Plant Theory gets mentioned here every so often
heyo everyone
late but here goes. i was speaking in wat i believe is the canon. we dont have any purpose after ascending because we already did our main purpose, which is to save spirits and elders- yet were given rebirth. theoritically, that could imply that we as skids can instead inhabit the planet after the ancestors and/or cleanse it for the ancestor's return to recreate the kingdom
-as our second purpose for rebirth
Pics or it didn't happen :D
I did take pics, I just need to unclog my phone's memory so it'll allow me to post them on Twitter
True, but when recharging theres a texture of scales or feathers that lights up like an ombré
if sky could do it, would it be cool if a skykid loses their cape, the cape dissolves in a flurry of leaf like feathers?
That would be cool
if the cape is like a bundle of feathers, does it mean a skykid can puff up like an owl?
Or going with the fish scale idea, would a skykid shed pieces of their cape when a krill hits them? Thus leaving spots of discoloured scales on the capes.
I wonder though if a skykid can feel with their capes. Since they can move them around, would it hurt if the cape were to be damaged?
I've thought about making a Skykid cosplay that's a wingsuit
ooh! I hope it goes well! 🙂
$1,200 for just a normal wingsuit, then however much it'd cost to mod it into a Skykid cosplay
nice 🙂
I was talking about this with a friend of mine-
Is it true that mantas eat gold
If so, it may not be healthy for light creatures to eat metal.
Explanations:
-
Ash is being a complete troll
-
I guess that's why Mantas have yellow in them
Like flamingos
If they dont eat gold they are just bland white matte mantas
Yall so starved yall take gold as fruit.
lol
sips on gold leaf tea
If mantas dont eat gold
They dont glow or have yellow parts
So theyre just bland
How did the mantas we have to rescue for that one daily get trapped under the darkness in the first place
Dark plants seem to grow in places were trauma took place. The plants may be growing in places where hunters shot down mantas, and the plants are catching mantas to reenact the scene.
There is a spirit in the area where the memory shows the hunter shooting down mantas.
That or, it is what I think is the case.
Oh! I never interpreted it as that texture! I just assumed it was a generic magic charge shine (it look kinda fabric-y to me). I’ll have to take a better look at it though when my skid is charging next time I play
you can see the pattern on the cape while the skykid has not fully charged a section.
Ahhh I missed seeing that! I know there was a spirit hunter...and I found that interesting. I wondered what they hunted. Now I know
Right! I have indeed seen it; I just thought it looked fabric like in texture. But I’ll have to take a closer look—I’m curious to see if it does look like feathers!
You know, did the Ancients eat like humans do (vegetables, meat, fish)? We know that Skids probably don’t NEED to eat to survive, but maybe can (cake!).
When I saw the hunter, I originally assumed it was hunting some creature for food. But we don’t see any hints about the ancient’s eating habits from any of the memories I’ve seen so far. Guess they subsisted off of light or something.
Ohhhh but wait! The memory in the Forgotten Ark seems to show one of the prophets working on some farmland!!
So maybe they grew vegetables of some sort
Unless she was growing some plants for a different purpose...making fuel or materials in the hopes of fixing their ship?
To me, the whole ark place seems to show the story of the prophets surviving on a deserted island though
But idk why we skids can take a boat to get there. It shows that we can get to the island relatively safely. So why Wouldn’t the ancients have sent a rescue team to ferry them off the island in a similar way?? It seems easy!!
Maybe then the prophets stayed there for research purposes?
Or that krill that hangs around the island for in the way
hmm...
Well there are jars in storage rooms, so the ancestors did store food and.or water.
There is a dining table in the sunny forest (from the season of belonging), a crab cooking over campfire in the graveyard (season of belonging), the merchants gathering mushrooms (play fight spirit in season of enchantment, forgotten art) and the hunter.
So, it is reasonable to assume (which can be the strengthen the case with more evidence), that the ancestors would eat and drink.
And skykids likely don't need to eat or drink, though can do so. Though this may be so based on how the skykids would imitate an ancestor's behaviour.
Oh duh why did I forget all those memories
They do show food in some instances. The mushrooms show they there were probably more plants around than just the trees, light fungus, and dark plants we see
And they did eat crabs, huh!! So we know they they ate seafood and mushrooms at least
Though there are not a lot of crops in the realms (there is one in the forgotten ark, season of enchantment, though not thriving well), the dark plants could possibly have appeared after the ancestors are gone.
As far as I know, there are no instances of ancestors interacting with dark plants.
Although, there is one spirit I just recalled might have reacted to the plants.
It is the refusing spirit in Isle of Dawn
I may have to check it out to be sure...
OHHH AND FISH DO EXIST. The goldfish/koi in ponds!
You know, those little fish look the most like real life animals vs the light creatures. Huh. Maybe there are more fish species we haven’t seen yet.
lol, yup.
The spirits might have had sushi at one point! lol
And yes, the fish is a good detail to mention. I forgot about them.
I'l really love to see more creatures in the future of sky.
Same here! it stands to reason there were more animals sometime if the Ancestors have masks based off of animals: rabbits, frogs, foxes, dingos/hounds (the Anubis mask)
Oh, and roosters/chickens lol
The moment you are able to pass by Vault entry crash by
walking like in Sky: Light Awaits
||Or like Mothy Python, if you know what I mean||
In the Nintendo trailer of the Forest, you do see what might be corrupted Crabs, but no plants.
weren't there plants on the bells or the shells of the crabs?
Took another look, and I don't think it's plants.
Image 1/2
Image 2/2... tbh they look nothing like in-game crabs. What are those bells-like things???
evolved crab
pre-darkness crab?
ooh boy, this took a moment to spot carefully.
There are dark plants, though are very small and not glowing blue.
Thanks for the screenshots, my dude.
This may either suggest that dark plants were very small, so easily overlooked. Or that the ancestors did not notice the dark plants at first.
Either way, they do seem to act like a fungus, appearing in very small patches, before growing and branching out before producing spores.
MUSHROOMS!!!!

PNR?
I really didn’t pay attention during the Nintendo trailer lol. I forgot about these lush Forest screenshots
I really hope we skids can experience this pre-corruption Forest. I want to see more mythical mushrooms
A small tunnel lined with lights on either side.
There is a tunnel in eden where you pass through right before the final are of eden.
It is called Point of No Return as once you pass through it, you are storm locked. Once you completed the area, ascended to Orbit and are reborn, you are able to play the rest of the game normally.
I see it! Almost looks like barnacles on a boat.
ah
ah, that is an interesting idea... but I think the mantas are attracted to the bells not due to their colors but because of the sound they make
cause the mantas to appear only after the bell rings. Before that they wouldn't be able to see the shiny gold of the bells, therefore it's unlikely that the gold is the thing that attracts them
I think the reason why mantas are attracted to the bells in the first place is that the bells make the same ringing sound we hear when we go through the white gates at the orbit (the loud "bam bam bam" sounds)
so perhaps mantas associate the sounds that the bells make with rebirth and orbit and therefore get attracted to them since it's their instincts - follow the call of the rebirth.
hmm... I love that idea.
I wonder why there are no mantas in home.
Not wanting to be rude or ungrateful for the bell in home. It is a bit loud.
you know, this made me think
I think some dev said on a stream that there is a reason why crabs walk in circles, it's because they are imitating something
maybe they are imitating bells?
since bells are going in circles and the crabs on this screenshot (well, they look like crabs but I am not sure - as far as I am aware sky crabs have only two eyes XD) are wearing little bells on their backs
perhaps crabs tried to pose as bells to hide from the ancestors\predators and so they started walking in circles to look like bells
maybe those spiders are just spiders, prophecy kinda insinuated they existed at least at some point
shelled spiders
They could be hermit crabs/spiders considering the bells they seem to be using as shells
This could either imply that they're the predecessors to our current rock-shelled crabs or be an entirely different species of darkness-creatures that existed before the collapse!
anyways, imma just leave this here to scar the next person who opens this channel-
Talking about the Nintendo trailer... another thing I noticed is that in the shot of the pre-"Fall of the stars" Dawn, the single pillars are intact, but the gate (I think they're gates) on top of the ramp is just as destroyed as now.
crudely made pillars?
gotta love my game autopiloting me into the middle of the ocean against my controls
what? you mean the camera or the character?
sometimes the game decides to, at random, control itself, the character will begin to move or fly on its own without input controls, and will ignore input controls until the character stops moving.
uht
hmm... weird.
Maybe. I took it to be a sign of a second, older wave of civilization.
Are you on the Switch? That might be the infamous Joycon Drift.
can confirm, have drift and uncontrollably sprint left for no reason
My switch has that. I have to try to struggle against a demon in my console just so I cAN GET MY DARN SEASONAL CANDLE IN HOME DANG IT
And to many people I probably look like I’m having a seizure running around in circles and randomly canceling emote animations
Im sorry you have to deal with that darn glitch
But at least I bought a third party controller (that’s way cheaper than buying another joycon. Take that, Nintendo.) I just have to deal with it when I play handheld
i might look into getting some offbrand joycons tbh... if nintendo wont fix drift i will do it myself
I have some etchpower pro’s I been using for about a month or so. So far no drift and now normal joycons feel horrifically flat. Don’t forget the shiny new cardboard fix though. I been waiting for mine to drift again so I can try it.
i want to try the cardboard but im so afraid ill ruin them
okay so about that corpse plant theory
Yeah
wheeeze
Basically, the corpse plant theory states that the darkness plants are basically fungi that eat away the light essence (wax) of a light source e.g spirits, light creatures, light creations (i.e bells in Prairie). Which meant that the wax that we get from them aren't from the plant itself but from the source it ate it from.
Basically creatures get eaten inside out
that’s super interesting
that kinda brings up the question tho like what did these plants do before sky kids- did they even exist or have sky kids always been here for them to feed or
anybody have a theory regarding why the constellation corresponding to Eden (crown constellation) is the same as the friend constellation called The Light?
Children of the Light
Of course but I’m wondering what the story behind it is, why it’s Eden and what the king has to do with all of it
eden is referred to as "the source of the storm"
the king was supposedly originally in beta versions of eden but is not anymore
and in concept art, the king is shown at the top of eden throwing spears form above that you had to avoid
I didn’t know he was supposed to be a hostile entity, that’s interesting
Also i’m assuming the figure eating an orb on the drawing the vault elder shows is the king
Why is isle elder left out of the gate to Eden?
his gate was the only one standing when the game starts and he is also the only one with a broken mask— I don’t have an answer to your question but i wonder if those facts are related
I was just thinking about if his broken mask had anything to do with it either
Isle elder is retired
I don't think he was always such though. The "Light" being similar to the King's crown may be linked to the fact that the King is from the similar place as Skykids are. I've heard people theorize that the child that fell in Ushering Stargazer's memories that looks all too like a Skykid might be the same person/The Prince/the King that is in Prophecy's murals
He's old
Great gramps had his time
true, makes me wonder because supposedly sky kids came around when the spirits had already fallen
To basically kind of confirm your theory or at least help it
“Trapped souls/creature”
You know how if you already got the wax from a dark plant for today then it doesn’t have the glowing orange sparks in it when you come back?
Hello
This is actually interesting, im not COMPLETELY sure, but i think that the Isle Of Dawn is the only one without Darkness plants, this roses some questions, but i would say that the Elder of Dawn is an actual Spirit, but doesnt make total sense sooooooo yeah, thats a interesting question
For some reason lifelight from smash bros reminds me of sky https://youtu.be/EhgDibw7vB4
dear TGC,
pls give me the chains the prince seasonal spirits wear. i would die for them
thank u, mel
Have you seen my fox?
no

Basically ok he is just not exactly a follower of the Old king, he was just someone who helped raised the king and such and help him, but not as important as the others as could be said, even if he just held over the ground to enter the land of clouds

nah mate, the vault elder also has a broken mask. just not shattered like isle elder
||here's a definitely true secret, Skybot is a skykid, but one without that inner light we have. See Skybot is the username the sky prince (not petit prince) goes by on discord. How do they access discord you ask? Well, what skykid doesn't have light and is in a place with computers? Thats right, the Dev-caped kid is actually the sky prince who goes by @pastel brook on discord. Why must you all deny the truth? For as the other elders are in a place outside Sky's space and time, the dev caped kid lies in the office which is also outside the space and time of sky. My fellow lore theorists and I think that there have been several versions of sky kids before us, this is evidenced by the statues we give winged lights to and the 5 statues before the hallway filled with winged lights in eden (2 covered in blue crystals and 3 that shatter when you approach them), we also think that the sky prince was the first ever sky kid. Some of us think that while we have a strong connected to the light within us, (i.e. the candle and the two different versions of the black room, dying outside sacrifice and dying inside sacrifice have different black rooms both with glowing kids but one is a bit more animated). The dev-caped kid does not have the light in their chest like us or have their candle out which removes the light from our chest when we pull the red candle out. Just accept it. You know it's true... Thus concludes my batsh** crazy theory||
Yes
Nah skybot is just tgc’s roomba gone sentient
Sapling Talk Time:
Skykid: I need to tell you something.
Sapling: ...
Skykid: Lorechat has declared that you, and all other saplings, are also in the corpse plant theory.
*a petal blows into the skykid's hands. It has something written at the back of it.
"Yes. You're right. You solved the riddle. Here's your prize -Sapling"
Large roots burst out of the ground and start engulfing the skykid.
Skykid: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
I am just going to ask something that everyone probably just sees but never truly comments about, the opening in the Elder statues that are Diamonds, WHAT DOES It MEAN
how did you-?
Are these sapling talks spreading to other channels??
What
In the general chat channel, there were sapling talk chats
Hahaha yes there is
Wait W H A T
The diamonds in the thrones?
Have no clue.
Maybe they are not powered?
Sighs and goes into game to show it
why is everyone talking abt a sapling
Coz they forgotten it
ok
incase you cannot get a screenshot of it.
Can you explain where it is?
Here are at least the elders of the first 5 areas
All of the statues have a center Diamond shape that is an opening in them, that has to least some emptiness for all of them
Ah.
I called those 'thrones,' apologies for the misunderstanding.
Headcanon:
I think it is a reference to their history of relying on the power diamonds for power. Given how the diamonds are missing shows they became so dependent on them, when the diamonds are gone, they would possibly be powerless.
Perhaps the diamonds are not stable and can blow up?
The reason why I beieve it is the case is since the diamond technology seems to have made huge advances in civilisation, up to the point it all came crashing down in eden.
When the big explosion took place, either the diamonds became too unstable to use and people abandoned them, or the corruption within the diamonds ultimately killed everyone.
This is just my answer to your question.
Hope it helps and that someone elese can add their thougts to it.
Alright and honestly the diamonds in the cutscenes seem to have some type of important as can be seen with The third elder and the last elder. We see these can be repaired with light, they may get very much broken in time and reactive when light comes into contact with them, this means that they can be over recharged and can point to corruption by power overload, with all light contain it can go out of control to seek to power itself more and more, ever sucking at all life force that has come in contact with light, only leaving rock or bars land.
Agreed.
The elders did seem to have made a mistake at some point in the past, which aused the world to break apart.
I recall in an interview that the elders were mentioned to be like the antiheroes in the story.
If that is still relevant, then one can look to the old lore to compare the series of events.
Though, as far as I can recall, us skykids have not seen a diamond explode. It is still a pretty solid theory given how badly the big diamond is glitching in eden.
A worrying thoughr though that crosse dmy mind is if diamonds are made of other materials than light from mantas and butterflies.
Could spirits also be used?
Could a skykid also be used in making power diamonds? o.o
The vault elder’s mask looks more dirty than broken to me, “mate”
in game character models may differ from the design the devs are after.
True that vault elder's mask is not very damaged, and poor dawn's mask was obliterated.
Though with the game running on different devices have caused the devs to either simplify models or remove certain visuals.
ex. the capes used to have amazing patterns on them in beta, though caused issues when ran on certain devices, so the patterns were removed. 😦
Another example is how skykids have mittens for hands (no fingers) though elders and even the little prince has fingers. It may be a way to simplify animations and avoid issues with simplifying the model.
As for the vault elder's mask having a dark spot. It could be a crack in the mask, or even some discoloration.
Though that is very much up for debate till confirmed to be otherwise.
Fun fact:
TLP stole Belongings Teen Cousin's lute from the previous quest map
To make things darker :
|| it's a solid lute, soo... Maybe tomb raiding will be added to the charges against TLP
||
Hi
That should justify my krilling attempts on TLP

Nah, there's the scratch on the eye and the chipped off chunk at the bottom
You skipped Teth Forest Elder

*Grabs your flame even more vigorously
@dry ivy
today's mission was about the cherry Sprouts
Time for my favourite mindcanon theory
Give me a sec to retrive it
ok
my theory (which seem stronger after I watched the LightAwaits beta video and how they changed the Isle Elder's cutscene) is that he is coming (exhausted and broken) from Eden because he had a role in shielding the other 5 Elders while they left the place they couldn't save. The storm was getting bigger or something and he had to protect a small gap in a sealing barrier (to shield the rest of the Kingdom from the disaster) to let them out but *still repelling the storm inside containment (you shall not pass). And after te 5 got away, they had to accept his sacrifice and finally sealed the storm
After all his Realm, Isle, is the furthest from Eden. Daleth had to sacrifice, the other Realms needed their Elders in order to not succumb to the darkness like Eden was, Daleth was expedable (or rather, he was the oldest while the younger had lot to live). If for example Lamed would have left Vault unguarded, all its wisdom and all its light would have perished and the Storm will have been stronger on Wasteland
Picture of my draft idea (but I draw it by memory and I thought it was logical to have the Elders in clockwise order)
Note:
The theory was in an oooold comment, so I need to clarify
Daleth = Isle Elder
Lamed = Vault Elder
But those were placeholder names, never canon and are also discouraged to be used (in order to not confuse new lore moths)
Why periodic table?
If you look closer her headress looks like one
Example given in this old comment by Bricky (check the comment I'm replying to)
I oddly thing the Belongings Emblems looks more like a care symbol
It could be a sign of unity/a family nucleum (more 🔸 🔶 🔸 together)
But I could also think of it like 2 hands of Lamed Vault Elder holding a diamond (which for me it seems a vessel for a soul)
✋ 🔷 🤚 ≈ 🤲
Dayum sky lore is darker than wasteland
Plus, the sign most call King Propaganda to me is a sign of Unity/Sky Peoples and maybe even to symbolize the Kingdom
Similarly to what I meant with
being a collection of 🔶 Realms (maybe) joining
Wow... Never seen this one... Lucky for me I made a query for glyphs
Which is kind of like the idea I talked about
🔹
🤲
So that means elders are trying to harness infinite energy and trying to make infinite light
🔹
🤲
This thing is inside sky kids
That's one way to see it
I think they maybe wanted to get a better link to Megabird Orbit in order to ascend all lives
Instead of simply using a diamond as a vessel for soul ascension (or at least that's what I see in Forest and Vault Elders' sadness)
I got stuck on a small corner and was able to see that this is inside sky kid models
Just in case you have no idea, this is what we generally agree in Lore is Megabird

Dammit, Discord... I could se my previous comment so I resent it...
That is a good theory. I love it!
I wondered why would dawn elder show all the constellations in his cut scene and be the most broken.
At first, it sort of works as the tutorial, though fells inconsistent for me since his realm is so different from the others.
If I recall correctly, Dawn's job was to be a ferry man for the ancestors. We see boats in every realm, so it is possible that dawn is responsible for the boats, which wold make his role the most important one as the other elders depend on boats as their main form of transportation.
Since he is now responsible for guiding skykids, it feels a lot like the dawn elder might be the closest to the king skykids would get.
What if the king is hidden in plain sight though?
Given there are diamond symbols everywhere, and he has giant statues in eden (in point of no return and the first area in the ascension).
It is very much possible. It is a sham though that the actual elder is no where to be seen.
I feel like the way he is shown on the crown constellation holding an orb to his gaping mouth is a clue but i cant decipher it
In Old Beta videos (SKY Light Awaits) or in that Elder's OOB you can still see the plaftome he stands have two docks on the sides
Plus his mask (which I at first thought were horns ♉) is a boat🛶
Some people theorises that the king ate the orb.
Personally, I believe he was trying to absorb its power, or was just holding it, but the power was too much for him and cause him to cray out in pain.
Each elder made a mistake while in power, and suffered the consequence of their actions. (ex. wasteland elder is a great warrior, though lost his strength to fight, until skykids helped him).
Perhaps the eden elder (king) lost his life?
Those giant statues (the wind corroded and those in Eden Castle Stairs, with the haloes ☸️ on the backs)
Maybe be Scholars or some kind of Trumpets officials (IMHO they seems to wear the same headress of the one entering the Stadium)
Dawn elder is possibly the only elder to have lost his mask and his sight.
Out of the other elders, dawn suffered the most physical damage and played an important role the other elders depend on (his boats).
True, though why would there be giant statues for a priest/schollar?
The statues depict the same person.
One of the symbols for the king is his light ☸️/🌟 and a diamond 🔷 , which the statues have both details.
Random thought just now:
Maybe he was breathing inside an orb (kind of reminds me the Bible, when God gave life to Adam with a soul with a Breath of Life for the claim He modelled into the Man)
So who knows maybe King tried to create us
Does anyone have a screenshot of that crown constellation cutscene?
Also what is the purpose of all these things containing diamonds in the vault? Batteries?
Maybe those priests/priestesses were the one in charge of Eden Realms, much like Scholars in Vault
And were holding their greatest achievement in hands, they were the guardians of The Diamond
ooh, that is also possible.
Orbs in the murals could be the same orbs we see flying around sky. These orbs are not solid, and can possibly be inhaled or absorbed.
Adding to your train of thought, the merchant boat at home always has 3 'shops' or categories. A diamond, a jar and an orb/light.
I wonder if these 3 elements were present in the whole game, though are not as easy to notice as the diamonds.
PS forgot to post this earlier, it's why we think the Sky Kindgom worshipped Megabird Orbit as a deity

King Propaganda:

AHHHH REALLY!??
can’t wait to play later today!!!

please dont let sky crash for the umpteenth time
Well you can also send your Joy one to Nintendo and they’ll fix it for free, form what I’ve heard
I was just too lazy and didn’t want to wait a week to get them back lol. I still do want to send my cons to them at some point
Here’s a video describing how you can do this for about $3: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RFjISHkmB_I
That...I originally did see them as a kind of fungus. It’d make sense of they infected DEAD matter, but seeing how those two poor mantas get trapped in the Forest, they seem to not care about doing that...so perhaps not an original part of the ecosystem, but more like a blight
Though perhaps they worked differently pre-corruption!
(...though, even in real life there are fungus that do infect living creatures...! Just because it’s awful doesn’t mean it isn’t a natural part of the ecosystem, perhaps...)
Oh woah! I never noticed the elder faces in the gate
Awww...he was his dad
And he acts as the first father figure to all skids
@dry ivy Draw me a jellyfish!
People keep referring to a heist! I’d love to know more about this if anyone would care to explain
I love this theory! He does seem to be given a lot of respect—all the elders do—but he struck me as someone who was the first to make an impact on the world of Sky, like the first “god” that helped mold the ancient peoples. He was the first one there at the beginning, I think.
That’s really interesting I like your take on it! All y’all’s ideas got me thinking a bit. When I first noticed my immediate thought was that he was or is in some form the king. There was one other minor detail that I don’t know if it has any meaning behind it.. but if you look at all the realm gates, the isle realm is the only one to not have paint on the pillars.
Okay!
Ooh, interesting...the lack of paint probably means that his place is the oldest. The paint has chipped off
Hey, I was just remembering the memory of the Crying Miner. This is one of the only memories, I think, that depicts the ancient’s burial practices. I was under the assumption that when they died, they turned to stone, and that in order to pass on, they had to take a trip up the mountain to Eden. But here, it’s apparent that they can die just like human do, have the need to be buried (which means, well, their bodies rot).
So the turning into stone thing is some sort of unnatural process, and I guess a result of whatever cataclysm plagued the land (diamond explosion, corruption blight, what-have-you).
Out of curiosity, are there any other graves shown in the levels? The ones in crying miner’s memory are the only ones I can think of.
there are graves in social areas where the spirits come down to trade with you and there are graves behind the 4-player door in the vault
there are gravestone and stone piles marking graves.
Not all spirits seen in memories are seen in the game as stone statues.
So that either means that the spirits we are reliving memories of, are petrified and thus preserved.
Or the feature of finding petrified spirits (bodies turned into stone) are more of a game mechanic than lore oriented based on location and context of the memory.
If the spirits truly died where they are reliving memories, it would be an odd plot hole or incredible coincidence for the spirits to coincidentally be able to relive a memory in a spot they died in.
OI I DIDN’T
Ah, yeah, the stone markers where we buy cosmetics from, they could be graves. But they seem more like path markers than grave markers to me (like the stone piles)
And yeah, it could be just a result of gameplay-and-story segregation, but we could also interpret the memories as ones that didn’t happen around death. But then, heh, you’d have to believe that every spirit died where they coincidentally had a memory, so that’s a bit of a stretch too...
Hm...maybe The ancients spirits, when they died to this foreign cataclysm, left their bodies and wandered to places they felt the strongest connection to, and then that’s where their souls crusted over and petrified.
Now it’s interesting that Skids, when dying in Eden, petrify. You’d think upon dying, they just would die like any real life living thing would. So it’s clear the red rock does something weird to victim’s bodies.
Though, I forget—what happens when a skid dies in the other levels? Do they turn to stone too?
nope.
Skykids only turn into stone upon death on eden. I tested that theory thoroughly.
It may be a game mechanic, though I think the lore does suggest skykid can turn into stone upon death in any realm, though would be difficuilt to properly apply without disrupting the game.
Perhaps the devs can code in the statue only existing for the player that dies. Or on the other hand, it is suggested that skykids would not die outside of eden, even though it js possible due tk the player's actions.
You do raise an interesting point that the red rocks affecting the lives and deaths of creatures it corrupts.
I'll ponder it some more. Thanks. :)
Hm! Interesting! What does it look like? (I could’ve sworn someone said that you shatter? I know that we get tp’d back to Home where we can collect a single WL; I just don’t know what the death animation looks like, as I’ve never died anywhere else but Eden...)
Yeah, it’s probably a game mechanic, but interesting nonetheless
Thanks though! It’s fun to think about, hehe
Skykids hands look like kitchen gloves
death animation has you reaching out in badly form but not turning to stone
ya know that makes me think, only in storm do we see kids statues with decay on them. But on the route up you encounter statues with long blue-ish crystals and plain statues that both crumple away in the wind once you pass them, I wonder what's the difference, and what makes the 63 statues special.
I know this is off topic from the discussion at hand but has anyone else noticed the sheer amount of dead kids in forest? I feel like I should craft a joke theory based off of that.
Megabird said having opposable thumbs was enough, giving Skykids fingers would make them too powerful
form your perspective you, when you lose your last winged light, your character start limping (when you move around) and lose their cape. In the past, you used to just shatter into pieces where you stand. Now, your character does a death animation similar to in eden, where you reach out your arm and them shatter.
From another player's perspective, you lose your cape and just stand there. Sometimes you can spot the death animation before the player disappears, though is not always the case :/
When you die outside of eden, you are taken to a dark room that exists under home. This void is very much similar to the void you find yourself in when you find the light kid (the white version of your character), however in this case, you just see a winged light standing in place. While in this room, you must accept the winged light before you can return home and play the game.
And no problem bud. This is why I love this channel. 🙂
wait wait. Dead kids??
If you are referring to the spirits, I'd get that.
but if you are saying there are dead children similar to the statues in eden, I'd like to hear more about it.
i think they mean the scouts (?)
I was referring to the spirits.
I was thinking along the lines of the ancestors using the place kinda as a warning for their children. Kinda like “Don’t go to the river at night or a sea monster might pull you in” type of deal.
But I just find it odd that there are so many child ancestor spirits there.
good.
That made me think though, aside from the season spirits and their different designs.
The spirits and their emotes tend to follow a theme that lines up with what stage of life a realm has.
While the spirits in daylight prairie are playful, the ones in forest are moody, then the ones in valley are competitive or theatrical (dramatic even), the ones in wasteland are serious or dire and the ones in vault are more mature or sentimental.
Though it is easy to state that is part of the theme of the game, I wonder why there are no young spirits in dawn or daylight prairie (again, referring to the main spirits, not the season ones).
Of all the spirits in the main cast, the hide and seek spirit would likely be the youngest (unless that spirit is an adult pretending to be a child because of the chibi mask).
I think it is interesting how the season spirits had more variety in characters, and not just because the design of the season spirits give the devs a chance to include different designs (younger/older and have different body shapes/sizes). But also how the spirits interact with each other and reveal more about the world (ex. season of assembly featuring only young spirits).
It feels like a mini DLC but with less pay to play features (I might get bashed for saying that, though it is true in a general sense 😅 ).
I mean there is one child spirit in isle and prairie each. (Boogie Kid and Confetti girl if you consider them kids) and there is one in Valley too (the skater girl). By going amount of dead kids starting from isle and ending in vault. The amount of dead kids per realm would be 1:1:8:1:0:0. This isn’t including the hair tousle teen which would bump the forest count to 9 or rallying thrill seeker since I can’t really tell his age. I just find it incredibly odd at the amount of dead kids in forest compared to the rest of the realm. On top of that aren’t the scouts related to “realm ancestors” which I think is a another term for elder.
And if “realm ancestor” is another term for elder, then why the heck are children related to them in forest at once? Something doesn’t add up or I am overthinking things.
Yes, there are children spirits in the seasons. Though outside of the seasons (the main cast of spirits), there are no children spirits to relive memories of.
There is the child spirit of proud victor, though the memory is that of the parent, not the child.
Agreeing with your statement of more children spirits in forest than other realms, though digress from the scouts being realm ancestors/elders as you mentioned.
The scouts are ancestors, though less likely elders, though the head scout spirit being a guide makes him unique to the other season guides.
Each spirit this season is individually related to the realm Ancestors of Sky - with their theme a reflection of their personalities.
I think that statement means that the scouts (being season spirits) are related to other spirits in Sky. Which could either be other season spirits (Season of Rhythm comes to mind), or other spirits found in sky.
I just find the term “realm ancestor” to be a bit odd. They could just said ancestor and the point would be made across. I am kind of leaning on that term maybe meaning something of a higher class. Edit: Just read your message.
Hallo, what’s the topic
Oh okay
comparing children spirits in seasons, to the other spirits found in the realms.
That could refer to the ancestor spirits found in the realms, and possibly not other season spirits.
That can be open to debate though, I am not dismissing the scouts being possibly part of a higher class than just kids.
Spirits are certainly very, very odd
Yeah, I just read your message. I wonder what spirit(s) the scouts are related too. Oh boy do I have to bring out the Punnett squares?
EDIT: I am probably gonna try that.
go all out my friend.
I am curious who would be the parents. Remember that not all spirits are present in the world which we can relive memories of, since there are spirits seen in memories that are appear once, so there will be unknown parents. Perhaps the location of the scout's memories gives a hint to which spirits to compare with.
I can't help but feel like the devs know how us players would go after red herrings. Though funny :), I wonder how far that fact could guide players to solving more difficult mysteries like where the king is, and what megabird is doing right now.
I am gonna do that right now. Just don’t expect anything to come out of it, I tend to lose motivation very quickly sometimes.
I do have to wonder since there are 7 spirits and since there are 7 realms, I wonder which kid could come from eden? My best guess is the kid that makes the least amount of sense compared to other spirits.
perhaps narrow down the selection with the spirits behaviour and cosmetics.
And no worries, this is just for fun. I am not sure how important it is to identify the relatives.
Oops... I think will return to eat tones of carrots🤓
I Didn’t include Vault but I included everyone else alright, now go flipping eat your carrots alright?!
Also your ok, I just take jokes too seriously, or I think they were jokes
Lores

What is the story that TGC wants to tell despite the limitations of the game itself?
Anyone else think of Sky during pretty much this whole video?
HEY A FELLOW BIBLE PROJECT WATCHER!!!

Yes hello! Even the animations in this video resemble Sky's art style to me
I love those videos!!
And yeah, their art style really does remind on of Sky’s aesthetic.
And gosh, I really recommend their videos to anyone curious about God and the Bible. They do such a wonderful job. I’ve learned so much from them (and that spiritual beings series is on point—the Bible really doesn’t talk about your typical pop culture pretty winged Cupid angels or red leotard imp demons lol)
Yeah! It’s interesting. I wonder what we can call it—it’s almost kinda like a form of abstract in in the sense in really simplifies objects into shapes, but shapes that look kinda...sacred, or primordial, or something
(I also see your profile pic is from Kiki’s Delivery Service. Nice
)
Found in Eden, if you look closely it kinda looks like a cross and.. yea
What I see is
Mega Bird = God,
Spirits= the constellations (God's appointed staff)
Serpent/Satan/Fallen Angels= corrupted Spirits who exploded Eden (built Babylon)
Sky kids = humans that were maybe never fallen or corrupted, thus no need for Jesus because they are the innocent light saviors who death cannot hold
There are sideways cross shaped holes in one of the caves under one of the platforms in Starlight Desert too
no lore, just crabs
Interesting!! I couldn’t help but think of those connections as well from the video to the game. I don’t think the devs were trying to make a Christian allegory with the game, but I love how much I can connect my faith to the game’s elements!
Perhaps the devs took inspiration from those basic human desires and thinking: the stars associated with the heavenly host, the world falling into a fallen state for some reason, a divine creator (or creators, according to other religions), etc.
The Bible project video did show how cultures have those basic ideas with their religions and stuff. I’m sure the devs took lots of inspiration from many different cultures and spiritual ideas
Yes I think so. It makes sense to reference real world spirituality in such a spiritual game.
The Sky Kids trying to bring life and light to a fallen world certainly reminds me of the core theme of Christianity: bringing hope and healing with the Good News to save others, with the hope of one day, Christ returns to completely bring His kingdom back to earth.
Playing as a Skid running free in a beautiful world without worrying about death makes me look forward to the day in the new world myself
Rebirth and Restoration.. is the name of the game lol. Yeah Bible Project is extremely interesting to me. I see these themes in quite a few games actually but I might just have Bible Project glasses on lmao
when and where did you get this?
Please say it is still in the game?
I took it yesterday! I’ve been super interested in looking into lore and and clues lately so I just went through all the realms gathering things. This is right after you enter Eden, atop the building you come out of, before the giant door with the 5 light switches! It was kinda hard to get a good look at due to fog and wind, but it is still in game!
I see. I never checked that side before. Thanks for the tip. 😊
Once I can enter eden without crashing (F), I'll definitely check it out.
It reminds me of the wasteland temple model you see in the distance while leaiving the shipwreck area, the temple changes when you enter the battlefield area.
I'd send a screenshot, though cannot due to crashes (I really want to play sky without the crashes).
there are more of the same crest in valley, iirc race gates
a common theory about unity because of the 4 conjoined diamonds it represents that apparently means that
These people sure love their dimonds, and octahedrons
That's the roof of the Vault, right?
What do you guys think the line “if only they had listened…” meant in the opening narrative after stating that the fallen stars made a kingdom in the clouds?
megabird feeling salty that the elders + king didn't listen to her
Mega Bird said all you need is my light but they decided to harvest power of their own and it was darkness
I heard someone note how natural the blue darkness looks in comparison to the hostile red darkness
Maybe the latter is a result of their tampering
Well, I think they broke the cycle of life. Like, all Light travels trough Eden to Orbit and gets reincarnated. Light = Life. But now there's spirits hanging around that we are supposed to shepherd to Orbit. (Or WL, the begining text is up to a lot of speculation.)
Considering it's called Eden, they ate from the tree ya know
Breaking that cycle by trying to collect all the wing buffs instead 😆
Okay, wait, actually, I have another bit for discussion. The very first two lines in the opening narrative are “With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came, and the stars fell…”
I’ve noted before how the stars and spirits in Orbit are literally surrounded by the darkness of space, so they should be used to typical darkness. Whatever must’ve flung the stars away from the Light/Megabird must’ve been something unnatural, then… but what?
Dark dragons, dark water, and all the dark-darky-ness we’ve seen are things from within the kingdom, but in an alright dark space, what could rip the stars from the sky?
I’m not 100% sure about this idea but hear me out. This particular carving reminds me a lot of prophecy. The 4 gates, 4 prophets and one guide. You first see this as you enter Daleths shrine, who is to put it simply theorized to be the gatekeeper/ guardian/welcomed/guide to the realms. The 4 values of prophecy were patience, resilience, balance, and courage. Key elements that you learn as you travel through sky. I believe this is a foretelling, or if you will, prophecy. Making your way through Eden it’s at first just pure wind and blue tinted path, but then you come across this door, and behind it lies true Eden, lethal shining crystals, hurling rocks, turbulent winds, dark dragons, every peril known in sky (excluding worms). This is where you put what you learned to the test. Wait for the hurling rocks and dragons to pass, get back up when knocked down, balance on ledges as you fight fierce winds, and of course, the courage to risk it all.
Fascinating
Not a theory, but a question. What are skykids? What are they made of, where do they come from?
Devs be like: “oh, the meaning of ‘but darkness came?’ Yeah, we just wanted to make a vague threat to start the story, but it doesn’t actually mean much.”
Sky kids are the product , or children of, the Light (big space megabird flowy spirit homie). After the fallen stars goofed up with the Eye of Eden, the Sky kingdom crumbled. The Light sent us to bring back their trapped spirit so the cycle of life could continue
Actually no, wait, not so that the cycle of life could continue, but so the lost spirits could return home to the Light
The cycle of life is unnatural for the spirits. The darkness that smacked ‘em down to the sky started that cycle. Otherwise they all would have remained in the Light up in space
Or that’s at least what I’ve theorized 😆
Could there be a dark equivalent to megabird? If megabird birthed all light, how did darkness originate?
So we are literally death guiding spirits back to valhalla or something to that effect because the elders were incompetent and let things fall apart.
Okay that last line you wrote reminded me of Lauren Alfred’s “Never enough” :
all the shine of a thousand spotlights, all the stars we steal from the night sky.
In cities there like one or two stars in the sky right, due to light pollution. If you compare a picture of New York City to say Antarctica, all the little shining lights have completely switched places. We stole stars from the night sky by creating our own light, artificial not very-good-for-us light right? The king wanted power(?) and sought to create or steal his own through artificial and dangerous means, that proved to be to much, and ended in disaster. And the dark power of the storm forced the light out of the sky. Idk I could be wrong, I’ve been awake for three days straight thinking about skys lore. Thank y’all for listening I’m going to sleep now.
That’s what I’m thinkin’
There are several theories around skykids. Some say they are the living descendants of ancestors (evolved humans in some way), others say they are like living statues.
There is also a theory comparing skykids to golems, since they are fire resistant, cannot drown, are sensitive to corruption, and carry a flame that is something like their life force (when it dies out, so does the golem ).
Homonculus sky kids 👀
Here’s my interpretation on the opening narrative of Sky
Oddly enough, the Sky Kingdom isn’t our natural home. Everybody was chillin’ in the Light before the darkness came. The fallen stars only settled in the clouds because they fell from the heavens
But if they were golems/homonculi then who made them? Because all I know is that megabird doesn't really have a physical form. Maybe the remaining spirits that didn't fall made them?
Yeah that seems like it. After all, the Light is still shown to exist in our time, and we are the children of the Light (it’s creation)
In concept art, skykids were illustrated to be hybrids of the ancestors and the light creatures. Creatures that are as smart/creative/has humanity like ancestors, though are pure and able to carry light like a light creature.
So maybe the spirits in eden (wherever they may be) were able to create skykid husks and the megabird would give them life?
Our goal is to make the Light (the term for the meeting of all the spirit dudes) whole again, by reversing the effects of the mysterious darkness that fractured it
I was thinking that maybe they give the kids some of their light. (Homonculus)
Possibly a spirit.
When a skykid dies in eden, all of their winged light is gone. But there remains a blue sprite of our skykid, which is similar to other blue sprites of ancestor spirits.
Maybe, skykids are the lost children of eden (just hypothesising here).
@nimble ingot Draw me a sheep!
Its not blue its completely white.
Maybe my phone colors are messed up or something but I can assure you its not blue
On an I-pad it's blue. Just ran through Eden

here ya go.
Yoooo SkyRaider actually drew one! That’s pretty good!
The sprites I have seen from skykids in eden are rarely change colour for me. They were always blue each time I go to eden (on a weekly basis).
I am aware of the colour glitch and have experienced it recently. Has your skykid spirit sprites been white?
LORECHAT
where is king resh?
Beyond the Diamond?
I've seen resh mentioned but I can't really track down how he became theorized.
credit to @icy spruce
GTE RESH’D and it’s actually from Bea, ho I’m not sure if they’e here anymore
you DARE try to resh ME!?!?
you foolish sky raider.... I don't have anything else to say so I'd appreciate it if you pretended I said something impacting and hurtful, thank ye!
flies away

👁️ 👄 👁️ 🔪
How many times have you guys gone through Eden? I just went through my second time yesterday despite having the game since the beginning of 2020 😂
Idk, a lot of times
Tho I don’ go to Eden much cause I’m lazy
Saaaaame
Yeeeeee
And because it’s scary 😳————🦐🦐🦐
🦐🦐🦐
I go weekly, quickly learned when the reset time is to avoid going there for nothing (point of no return).
It is not that important, but is something to look forward to every week.
It’s not that scary for me when you oob
I like Eden and Valley (specifically Dream) why is the slowmode so dang long
What’re ur guys’ favorite regions?
My favorite place to hang out is the Daylight Prairie. (The cave to the left of the first field is awesome)
Dude the Valley race gets me pumped up every time
I been through Eden so many times it’s dull to me in a way
Going beyond Eden into Orbit is the coolest thing tho
The credits track is one of my favorite songs in the game
It takes. A while.
But yes the piano bit in end credits is amazingly strong. I wish the melody would appear more than the boring main themes that are everywhere.
I’m keeping track on when each of my lives begin and end (my third life just began yesterday)
I lost count of eden times. Im rockin my 11flaps
Sheeeeeesh eight is the most I’ve gotten so far
Old person spotted (/lh)
you will get there, young grasshopper.
Soon, you will soar higher than before and become a master as well.
Is 12 the max?
11 is the max right now. 200 winged lights are required for 12, but only around 180 is possible currently
Unlikely, that would mean someone is running around with 200 winged light.
Bruh you could save everybody in Eden two times over with that
Until they want to buy more resize at least
or, survive lone enough to see the point of not return crumble away.
When you don’t come to Eden so Eden comes to you
So...do you think all Skykids return from Eden without fail? Or have some Skykids gone in and haven't made it out? Are they among the statues you see, the ones unfortunate enough to have not made it through?
good question.
I suppose they have to, or they either have to return home, or go to orbit.
Even if a skykid does not give light to any statue, they get to ascend.
So it is tricky to determine if it is the case because of the game mechanic with replay-ability, or a lore fact of skykids repeating the cycle over and over.
This is definitely a purely lore question, ignoring the game mechanics.
I wonder if, too, some Skykids are trapped in the loop forever, dying and coming back over and over, unable to escape.
hmm...
Lets lay down a few facts:
Skykids are not immortal, as they die when they lose all of their light.
Skykids have a blueish soul in them (seen when you die in Eden's point of no return)
Skykids can be reborn if they so chose to do so (you don't have to go through the portal, though is calling out to you).
Skykids are from the sky (as seen in the Light constellation (friendship constellation)), they ascend to the stars (orbit) and then fall back down to home.
For the players, there is a message that says that the real journey begins when you complete your first play through and accept the extra winged light in the void under home.
So, with all of the above combined, a skykid can die, though intends on sacrificing themselves in eden. There has been a theory by @dry ivy hypothesising that a skykid can become lost in the darkness and are doomed to wander in the void indefinitely. Which is a curious idea that can hold water, despite the game not ellaborating on dead skykids.
There is another theory linking skykids to stars, suggesting that a skykid's soul becomes a winged light to help skykids make it to eden and getting help themselves to make it to orbit (Pancake also mentions this in their theory). Lastly, there has been concept art by Tom Zhao that showed a corrupted skykid, which looks familiar to a dying skykid. While the game does not implement ghost skykids or corrupted skykids, it could be possible for skykids to succumb to the darkness and become corrupted.
So, a skykid's role in sky is to complete the cycle that the elders or the spirits used to do. Hopefully the game would ultimately answer that question properly, though this can still be debated on.
are capeless sky kids actually corrupted?
lolol
i wonder if this diamond here has a purpose, and why this statue has a big diamond-shaped hollow pipe
It's a king turret. The concept for gw temple included turrets
scary
Trying to draw Megabird since many don’t see it’s some giant bird in the sky
Birbirbirb
Wonder what these are for
I don’t know about the forest one but I’m pretty sure the prairie one is to tell the time when the fairy circle comes out
headcanon: hide & seek pioneer became tired of the rain in forest and became a guide to go on a summer getaway
They're clocks! One of the many Sky: Light Awaits relics currently in the game, I explained what they are here:
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
And no, the Prairie clock is not for the Fairy Ring
