Are krills elder mantas or whales? or are they horrifying fusions of light creatures that are bound together by darkness against their will? Is there technology involved?

Personally, I think they used to be their own type of light creature prior to corruption.
Each type of light creatures has a consistent look even with variants, such as the cosmic mantas and the normal mantas.

Though what makes it difficult to further support that idea is when it comes to the whales (plural).
There is the one in sanctuary, the ones you see in the underground cavern, on the to golden wasteland and the cosmic version in vault.
All of them have the name whale, though have different looks.

Well the first race (sliding) is basic and short. Even if dream village is not linked with the race directly, it is low down in the city.
It is small, humble and competitive.

The citadel shows the ancestors used to tame and ride krill, which may have been used in the second race (flying).
The place is tall, beautiful, noisy (those rings and balls are never quiet) and flaunting their gold.

This divide might also play into other aspects of the realm.

Well, the skykid's mission is to bring the spirits home, right?
Aside from picking up winged light so theycan fly higher and return them to the fallen in eden, to be able to get more winged light, the skykid needs to help spirits to access new areas and help them ascend so they can give use their wing buffs.

So, the gates probably makes sure the skykids gets enough spirits to the temple first before they can go back and reach the newly unlocked area.

Again, I do not think the spirit gates have a major role in the lore. As the gates are there to make sure the player of the skykid gathers the spirits.
It is similar to other games where the player needs to gather the requisite items to progress. While the plot of the game would suggest the protagonist would collect these items, the game has to subtly communicate to the player and make sure they do what the protagonist would have done.

I would say it is the megabird. The ingame deity that brings life and light to the world (the flame). You see it in some murals, in orbit and in the water that surrounds the office portal, in vault.
So, I believe megabird would be a good canon theory, and the responsible to guide skykids.

Others would say the king, and that is also possible, though I dont have the facts or theories with me to support that answer.

The gates make sure new players make enough progress in the game before passing through. Player that can just fly over them 9/10 already qualify to pass through.
The gates forces players to light them up regardless if they qualified to pass or not. So players that want to save a bit of time, are likely able to skip them either way.

I dont think the creature is a krill. It could be a type of manta (or fish or turtle), but I dont know where to start on that one.

I once read in somewhere that citadel used for astronomers used it to study the sky and places of stars (it was a tgc confirmed thing i guess? Its been so long, i dont remember it well). And, I believe if there's no reborn and we can't come back, then that's the same for all the skids. They go to Eden and turn to stone, then there is no one left to bring the loss lights home :(

The mural could have been painted decades or even eons after the fact, so things may get construed improperly. Gotta love how TGC keeps the game's lore shrouded in mystery.

I have a new theory for the statues in eden.

You know the statues are linked with the skykids. Since we also turn to stone upon death in eden, there is a strong connection between the light we carry and the soul trapping nature of eden.

When we play the game for the first time, we dont know any better and rely on others to help us or figure things out on our own.

What if the statues were the first skykids that failed to figure out how to move past eden and then perished there.
Over time, they started to figure out how to give light to others instead of keeping it to themselves and eventually managed to escape eden.

I might want to test this out, though can recall someone else did the experiment with what if they did not give light in eden. If I recall correctly, they died and still went to the dark room with the light skykid and reached orbit.

now, assuming the skykid has a choice to not hug the light kid, what would happen?
I am including another theory from someone else (I'll find it and qoute for credit) that suggest skykids that perish in the darkness, cannot return and lose their souls for good.

The other, bad outcome is when the light half can’t find or is too late to save the dark half.

Here's an idea for how we can still get the ultimate rewards from past seasons without making it so easy that it defeats the whole point

What if, upon completing every constellation from every realm and getting all of the ultimate rewards, the ultimate rewards from previous seasons unlock at the top of the respective Quest-Giver's spirit tree? This would make it possible to still still get those items or cosmetics for new players, but only after fully engaging with all other aspects of the game first.

Obviously, this doesn't apply to the current season. That should still require seasonal candles and seasonal hearts

I like to think that the past season guides 'retire' to a village (this was before dream village) and skykids could complete quests to unlock their trees.
Sure, they could be stuck behind in app purchases (Though am not a fan of that) but rather that than not having access to them in the first place.

The winged lights could be like spirits since they have statues but why we can't "free" them like we do with spirits and it only fire up a tiny flame in it

I think that's because eden is too "dark"

Darkness is allways present and there is a a very few of candles and warming up places and that they just CAN'T be truly freed because of the lack of light

2. The winged lights' candles

So as you guys know we get ascended candles when we complete eden

I'm just thinking but 🤔 thoses ascended candles we get

They are "ascended" like... They are "dead"

What if when a skykid dies they turn into a statue and all of their candles they had before dying turns into an ascended candle ?

2. Winged lights are sort of spirits

There is many winged lights in sky

But there is plenty of them in eden

As you know a spirit is allways pretty close to it's statue

And there is lots of statues in eden
And lots of winged lights in eden

What if they are close to their statues like spirits but act differently

Because maybe when someone got light in them someone who got a CAPE you don't see their memories like spirits but instead they gives you their lights since they don't need them anymore because they are dead

As you guys know the dawn's part story let think that the kingdom of sky got though a terrible event and most of the kingdom perished

That's why we go in with a bunch of winged light, to save many but only lose one. More fallen are saved than sky people falling, so it's a net positive.

We do manage to help the 63 statue kids ascend, and any spirit that gives you the wing buff (making them ascended spirits).

We either are supposed to keep at it, until something gives, or we are not yet strong enough to complete the cycle for good but to sort of either keep a balance, or sort of chip away at the bigger problem.

What makes it hard to conclude that theory, is how the game is not yet completed. As in, the devs are still updating the game, so the story has not ended yet.

They are EZ compared! Though take a bit of trial and error. I rocked secret soul melter ex with Susie, Taranza, Magolor and Mar-ok I should stop talking about kirby in sky lore.

A lot of it is after you do the trials too. Make sure to land on the floating rocks and light the fire pits!

well it's about those nasty krills,
if they hit us/me we/I lose stars so if we can't collect them in a little time they will just vanished.
So I wonder If I could know where they go and if there is any idea or theory about that
I saw one in YouTube about that the stars are at the last spot you have collected them but that always not true,
So I want to know if there is any theory or anything else so I don't have to look at every places for wl😜

Gameplay wise. Its completely random which one will reappear, as far as I know. Lore wise uhhhh, it like. Um. It escapes through the air due to lacking a vessel or something dunno. My lost always turn up in really obvious places though...
