Personally I believe that if skids are made out of something other than pure light, they might be a combination of Light and clay. Maybe the skids we save are just dried clay shells we give light to again. The light in skids could maybe make the clay soft so they can move and once the light has left the clay hardens?? It's not really how clay works, but still kinda interesting

I guess that last theory thing would make more sense if they were made out of Wax, but then they'd melt so uh I need to do a revision

imo skykids are like golems, i feel we're similar to the mythos

connecting back to the kabbalah of the placeholder elder names and leaning on lots of abrahamic concepts, i wouldnt be surprised if we were inspired by golems. golems were creatures made of clay designed to protect jewish communities from violent anti-semitism they would face in their day-to-day life. they would be brought to life by a rabbi with "אמת" (emet; truth) inscribed on their forehead. when the golem had served their purpose the alef would be erased so it would say "מת" (met; death). however, they could always be brought back when the alef was returned to their forehead if the community needed defending once more.

skykids are beings made to protect the community. the community of ourselves as well as the fallen kingdom. we're helpers, we're saviours. we fight off the darkness with the power of the Oneness with the Creator, which is the whole gist of the alef. when we go through eden, we lose that oneness, we lose our light, the alef is erased from our foreheads and we are inscribed with death. but our work is not over, and we're brought back. we hug the prince in orbit, we become one with the alef again, and we're brought back to continue protecting the bones of the kingdom.

sort of. Lore indefiniteness leads to plausibility of events like "actually, none of these things really happened". It is a dead end if storyline is completely defined, but not being able to arrive to a fitting and universal and actual picture of world is destructive to understanding of the world, because, in example, it is impossible in this case to know for sure why and for what purpose sky kids exists. We are given general and overall answer, but details (which are absent) could change understanding of narrative as it is present. In this scenario we can only imagine... Would it be a right thing to have these answers? It would add this burdening feeling of world's greatness, which would shift game's focus from empathy to a great mission of skids. This is not how devs visioned this game, apparently. Yes, this indefiniteness is intentional, but because of this, in my opinion, the game itself just feels hollow as if nothing of a significance is here...

My story line of sky: the settlers came from a far off land and settled in the isle of dawn and the what we now know as the wastes. These settlers began making capes of clouds to sail among the early winds (where we collect the cyan light) to the daylight prairie to make permanent homes and clay pots to store water and food.

Part 2 of the story: the settlers in the wastes meantime split apart into groups too. The scholars and writers constructed the vault, and the athletes and dreamers created the (now) citadel and the village of dreams in the valley.

I know there really isnt gender in Sky, so I use the word Mom as a “birthgiver” role, not necessarily in the woman parent role.

(It could also be in conjunction to the fact that Wasteland Elder was a member of HBT and therefore had a sense of immunity in that regard)

Theory: The Golden Wasteland is actually underwater/ocean themed

1st: You enter the Wasteland through a tornado thing. I think this could be a whirlpool. Past here, you don't see any cloud tunnels or barriers. The only clouds are above you.

2nd: The Ark! And other shipwrecks! Yes, there are smaller wrecks all over the realms, but you only find these huge ones in Wasteland. This could be because you need boats as big as this to sail the ocean. The smaller boats scattered around the realms were probably just for rivers or something.

I like to think that the wastes are a giant cavern under the mountain of eden and the (very overlooked) desert between the valley and wastes goes on for alot longer than we think

3rd: Krill could be deep sea creatures. They have lights, like many real deep sea creatures, which obviously don't fool players, but I think the manta would have escaped if it had known.

4th: I think that the Wasteland could be a sunken city. It's near the Valley, which has cities and villages. It could be called "Golden" because the Valley's color scheme has a lot of gold to it, and if it used to be a part of that it would make sense. Why call a place gold and then make it all green?

There's a set of tunnels near the Ark which have wall pictures of the Wasteland being filled with crabs - this could be the city flooding

Since, the Valley has such a focus on competition, I feel like warriors wouldn't be too out of place.

You can also get a trumpet-horn type instrument there, which could have been used to announce games and competitions.

Also, I think the spirit that blows the horn was from before the city flooded. They were climbing up to a high point at the enternace to the arena to announce a game. They probably wouldn't blow a horn if they were defending against krill, since that would only attract them.

Well, the Wasteland does have a few large structures I could see being palaces or something... and with how big the city could have been, I could see it being a capital.

Obviously I have no idea what this King guy's about, but that's the current way I'm putting it into the theory.

I tried to look more into this King guy, turns out the Wasteland was going to be a deserted castle in the concept art. Maybe part of that leaked into the final design, so we have the statues.

The Castle would probably be near or in the capital city, so there we go.

Adding onto the flooded city theory! The forgotten Ark has these two pictures on it. The people on the boats are escaping the flood. Then they get struck down by lightning, the boat sinks, and becomes the Ark.

All the sailors seem to have these big hat mask things - we also see them on spirits in the Vault. I believe these big hat mask things show that they're important citizens of the city, probably scholars from the Vault, the library. They were given priority when evacuating the city, and boarded the Ark, but died while escaping. The smaller boats were other citizens, many of which managed to escape, leaving their boats scattered throughout the realms.

I honestly think that there is 2 different types of light: artifisial and natural. ID, DP and VOT are the natural light realms powerd by manta light and light of the sun. And HF, and VOK are powerd by arifisial light. Then we only have wasteland left: all we know is that there was a huge war but who against who? Artifisial against natural. We see 2 types of shields: one with a gem, and one with a sun on it... so the reason GW doesnt have light is bc of the war there. so, from the ending where we, as a dark child, hug the wl we can see that the darkness isnt bad and neither is the light

also

from the 4 statues in the second level of eden (btw whats that level called) we see two statues covered in blue crystals and two without anything covering them

the two "clean" ones crumble when we get close

but we can use the other two as sheilds from the rock rain (not that effective but still works)

for the spirit statues and the statues in the last part of eden, they are covered in dark dust

im assuming that the blue crystals are naturally refined darkstone as they are blue like the power crystals

so it seems the darkness protects the spirits from being lost completely

the two statues with the blue crystals can not be saved, at least not yet, but the crystals seemed to have saved them from crumbling to dust and being completely lost

unlike the two "clean" statues

No matter night or day, we see those clouds in homespace that separate us from our parallel universes. They dont move or change shape, as clouds are supposed to do. While they dont really move so much, the clouds in other realms do fluff up and billow.
This means that these clouds are special
A permanent fixture between temporal fields. We can access both endpoints, but not the space between.

Well, we know that altho the Holy Burrito led to the downfall of the King, we also know that somehow the Burrito is now gone and the Megabird is once again on top.
Something happened. As of right now, we do not know what, but something happened between Megabird and Holy Burrito.
Unfortunately, Megabird won, but the Holy Burrito cannot simply be disposed of—they are too powerful! Without the Holy Burrito, sky kids (the pets of the Megabird, forced to the slaughtering floor every week, in Eden—almost like the Hunger Games, a penance for a crime long gone) cannot exist.
As such, the Holy Burrito is contained in those “clouds”.
This also explains why skykids all, at some point or another, unconsciously attempt to reach those clouds, so that we can once again meet our beloved.
As sky kids, it is our solemn duty to one day reach those “clouds” and free our Holy Burrito.

I think they stopped it because glitching through wind walls was causing a lot of issues and probably wasn't intended to begin with, but people managed to find a way

personally, i think that their should be an option to see players that went out of bounds in cutscenes, after the first eden run this option becomes available that way we get to oob into those areas and not disrupt he experience for people

so, from the ending where we, as a dark child, hug the wl we can see that the darkness isnt bad and neither is the light
also
from the 4 statues in the second level of eden (btw whats that level called) we see two statues covered in blue crystals and two without anything covering them
the two "clean" ones crumble when we get close
but we can use the other two as sheilds from the rock rain (not that effective but still works)
for the spirit statues and the statues in the last part of eden, they are covered in dark dust
im assuming that the blue crystals are naturally refined darkstone as they are blue like the power crystals
so it seems the darkness protects the spirits from being lost completely
the two statues with the blue crystals can not be saved, at least not yet, but the crystals seemed to have saved them from crumbling to dust and being completely lost
unlike the two "clean" statues
