Okay but going back to my personal theory of skykids going back in time after being reborn
I think they were sent back in time because the Megabird thinks that the reason that they failed to fix Eden is that they haven't prepared enough. So Megabird tried to give them more preparation time by sending them back.
But Megabird made a fatal mistake: they far overestimated the power of skykids. They thought that since skykids are made from their essence itself, and are made to restore Eden, they must be strong enough. If not now, then one day, they will be strong enough. But skykids are not, and never will be as powerful as Megabird think they are.

The reason why spirits stay the same as before, assuming that they are willingly there, is that they couldn't bare to leave those children alone by themselves, not knowing what is it like to feel emotions, never knowing what it like to be human (idk if that is the right word but hey meaning-wise it kinda fits). So they chose to stay there, to guide us all over again.

mmm Ive been thinking too much about evil elders and ignoring the megabirb

I am not too sure about the Elders, since they are probably already in whatever kind of afterlife there is (I think I saw that the elder cutscenes happen in another realm of reality or sth like that, and there was a similar scene in a mediaeval Vietnamese story I studied about in school in which the protagonist spoke with the dead, and even literally went to hell after falling asleep and dreaming, so I think that meditation could bring us into that kind of space as well?)
I am not too sure as why they are... there though? Maybe the candles + meditation send some kind of signal that calls out to them in that realm, and they decide to answer because it has been so long since someone has ever called out to them for guidance from the mortal realm?

Idk what to think about the king and/or prince but my personal theory is that the Elders and the Megabird exist in another realm, kinda afterlife-like, and the Elders could choose to manifest in the mortal realm whenever they wanted to. The candles + meditation just calls out to them, they can ignore it though
So could the Megabird, but they just don't choose to go to the mortal realm (thus making the fatal mistake of overestimating the power of skykids)

That’s definitely an interesting theory! :0 I personally think they were all originally in their own kingdoms, since in the beginning scene and the murals in Isle we can see all the kingdoms including eden supposedly before it was destroyed. They could have all lived in eden anyways as a sort of council though? really anything could be the case

Oki so recently I’ve been noticing the common theme of water/ocean in Sky. Many kingdoms have large expanses of water underneath them, and the creatures are mostly sea-based creatures- mantas, krill, jellyfish, crabs, etc. Which leads me to think- the world of Sky is either a drained ocean above the clouds, or a flooded ocean, making more sky and water than land.

I’d be curious to know if the decision to remove some things from the initial concept art has any bearing on the story’s direction now... so in a way I see some of those things as part of lore as well
They initially made the krills terrifying and also corrupted creatures that could be freed by the players. Somehow that tends to give them a more greyer moral zone, where now, the krills are just plain bad.
It’s interesting how in the initial designs, the story was darker, but as we see now, sky tends to be 70% happy go lucky. It’s also interesting how point spirit’s memories are now showing the same thing that was in the concept art (where the children aren’t born at home like we see now), but show up in isle....
and in the initial game, they are brought into existence on the shores of isle.

I still don't think of krills as entirely bad. Like to a sky kid's perspective, they are, but not really. So now they did indeed invade wasteland and Eden after the explosion and everything, but newly born krills don't really have anything to do with that and they are trying to defend their home, and hunt for food. Plus they can't really help sky kids since they are made of darkness and sky kids are made of light.

Yeah your theory makes sense. I think it could be something like there was a lot of water, but most of it dried up or maybe the water became the clouds, since there was obviously land, so the sunlight hit the water and it became clouds, some rained down onto whatever is below while some stayed as clouds. (I'm confused why they heal you, if so) There is still water, like in wasteland, and krills can still be in water, as they rose up out of it when we came. I think all of them can live in water but because of the water going poof, they had to adapt to flying instead otherwise they already could fly or walk on land. (Crabs could already walk on land.) Maybe there is like dark infected water and light affected water, stuff like that. I forgot what else I was going to say.

So the only things sky kids faces auto-focus to are other skykids (i.e., if you stand still next to another skykid, your face automatically turns to face them)
But they also do this to krill.
When you’re right next to a krill (for example, on a ledge right above them in gw graveyard), your skykid body automatically turns to face them. To the point that the body lurches into a crouch repeatedly while trying to turn).
Conclusion: krill aren’t just corrupted creatures, theyre corrupted skykids (that one might speculate tried to take the power of creatures, which is why they look like creatures)

I think it's the map of Forest

I have a little theory that perhaps mantas were equipped with power diamonds to become flying turrets (kinda like the king statue ones in wasteland), but then because I think krill are corrupted manta/whale/light creatures, the power diamond corrupted the creature it was attached to and drained its light, but because it was attached it could never die and continually was corrupted and powered to live. And now they are krill and they dive for Sky kids because they crave light so much (their natural life force), and they still have some turret like nature.

we arent made completely out of light or dark, but a balance of the two so we wouldnt just be easily consumed by the dark and can contain the light and we cant consume the light and just absorb the light

Here is my idea:

After the first creatures’ attack the King starts to create weapons to make sure he will not get defeated. Except for the ancient weapons he wants more advanced ones – more powerful – more deadly. Scientists use dark stone technology to give life to the darkest thoughts ever made in sky the Krills. Krills where designed very carefully – maybe by the king himself- to have no weaknesses. When Krills came out of the laboratories they were the most powerful weapon the king ever had to fight creatures – dark creatures. As we see in the first Krill area of GW a krill kills a Mantas.

So what do I mean! Let me explain the past the way I see it really briefly:

Before starting to discuss about krills let me first remind you the history of Sky very briefly! So, there is the Megabird which grants flame to the Prince and sends him to sky. The prince uses flame to build the first civilization of the fire era. He chooses 5 ancestors to rule the four realms (Dailyght Praire, Hidden Forest, Valley of Triumpth, Golden Wasteland). He completes the trials and becomes very powerful. Ancestors are jealous of the Creature’s abilities to fly. Elders together with the King find dark stone in the forest and start overmining the realm in order to get this powerful stone – which can absorb light. Elders use it to trap light into power diamonds (something like batteries). They advance technology at the point to be able to fly – like creatures. Civilization drives itself into a golden age and the Prince is crowned King. However, light gets less and less, and the stones start to corrupt the King and the Elders. The creatures attack but Ancestors are way more powerful and win. King gets afraid and orders a vast fortress to be built at Golden Wasteland and a powerful Ark for the elders to escape if things get worse. Creatures attack again and destroy dark stones which explode and turn all light into darkness, kill ancestors and trap the King into Eden – turning him into storm.

So by creatures I mean light creatures like mantas butterflies whales the creatures in Sanctuary Islands etc

So that is how I get it!

On the murals on the Ark we can see ancestors wearing those Vault headdresses. Maybe it could be interesting to hint at the construction of the Ark in a season like this?

I was thinking of naming the season "Season of Devotion", and maybe hint at a loyalty conflict? Maybe the spirits aren't allowed to bring anyone from outside Vault in, but they do let some tired wasteland warriors in because they feel bad??

If my theory about spirits willingly staying just to teach reborn skykids emotions and feelings is true, then I feel so sorry for the tearful light miner
They have their worst memories about the worst time of their life replayed all the time just so that they can teach some kids a single emotion

Or if they did not willingly choose to stay, it could probably be because of the Megabird's plan
The Megabird wants them to be there to teach the skykids emotions and feelings, thus when the skykids are reborn, the spirits are also sent back

hi! so in the first tgc article about Season of Assembly they said 'Each spirit this season is individually related to the realm Ancestors of Sky – with their theme and items a reflection of their personalities.' and because the masks remind me of the Season of Lightseekers masks, especially that at some point in beta the Assembly's guide had a mask that looked like the Lightseekers Guide's mask, I decided to make a little chart and compare the masks to figure out which Assembly kid fits which realm

The lightseekers theory does connects to the concept art of lightseekers in which they were forest ancestors

Ye, the mask are incredibly similar to lightseekers so it's hard to not make a connection. When they first came out in beta i also thought tgc was going to connect them to lightseekers

there's 8 spirits but I think I would exclude Whale Whisperer because he's kind of just a stand-in for a voice, as well as Hide'n'Seek Pioneer bc she's already a child herself

ok so this is just a first guess but maybe it would be daydream-blushing prospector, chuckling-apologetic lumberjack, baffled-tearful light miner, marching-dismayed hunter, and scolding-pouty porter??? I have no idea though

maybe it's not so direct at all

I do wish we knew more about the realm spirits though

Here it is:
To keep the knowledge safe from the ongoing war in the Golden Wasteland, the Vault of Knowledge has been closed off. Nobody is allowed in or out. A group of scholars went against the rules and let in a couple of Wasteland warriors. What secrets will they bring with them? The Skykids must help the scholars recover the knowledge from these tired warriors.

yeah I feel like all the names are from our perspective, the game doesn't give us any names from when they were alive or from their culture

wait, but isnt keeping the knowledge safe just preventing it from being destroyed? They could give the warriors copies of the originals, even the warriors would be fine with that. the point of keeping information safe is to be able to spread it to others later. could the season quests be to learn to make copies of the texts and deliver them to other spirits?

i may of course be missing something, so take my comment with a pile of salt

I thought maybe Vault would have been closed of to keep "unwanted visitors" out, so people who might want to destroy some plans or information they had stored in there

well, i guess but lets say they made copies of the information to hand out. the more widespread the information is, the harder it is to destroy it

actually what if spirits from different realms used to come to vault like to a library? or maybe as a learning event? no other realm spirit are called 'scholars' except for some Vault ones so maybe all the knowledge the other realm spirits had was specific to their line of work. what if they had like a Sky History Day/Sky Remembrance Day or something that would let all kinds of spirits come and learn and THAT's what the season would be about?

To me Vault always feels pretty secretive. I'm not really sure how those knowledge lanterns work, but maybe they could have made copies. It kind of has monastery vibes to me. Vault Elder seems a bit like they have a secret, or feel guilty about something. Vault Elder seems secluded from the other elders.

That's kind of my reasoning behind the whole "closed off Vault" thingy

I agree with you on that. The spirits of the season would be going against the idea of keeping everyone out. I think I might have also been inspired by historic event such as (I don't know the English name, the Dutch one is "Beeldenstorm" (=statue storm??)) the times where churches were raided and all their statues where destroyed

So like, they want to share the information, but are scared people will destroy it, so they closed it off

The new update pushed some new things into the sanctuary, I’m assuming metal containers, a sunken boat, a polluted geyser, as well as rocks in the ocean. So for your newest episode of “Wish wants to contribute”, here’s the evidence I took.

My theory is that a boat crashed here and spilled everything which polluted the geyser, but who knows.
