My new theory about vault and eden. We know that vault connects with eden, when we reach the top floor of vault it leads us to eden. What if vault elevator system was invented for to carry giant dark stone up to eden? The giant dark stone at the top of eden was big enough to make it impossible to transport with boats so they created this elevator system of vault. From vault’s first floor to last floor we try to create enough light source to the giant dark stone with lanterns to make it fly and reach upper floors. So according to the theory, there must be another elevator system similar to the vault’s in eden, to transport the giant dark stone up to eden, but it must have been destroyed in eden explosion.

In sky universe, each planet has its own rebirth gate and they are situated in space, we see this in ending credits, so this is somehow the goal of every living being in all planets, to reach the space and use rebirth gates there and be reborn. This is why they used dark stone on top of eden, to create that huge beam of light which makes us fly to space and reach rebirth gates. The explosion wasn’t happened because of the use of dark stone, it happened because of the war happened near that giant dark stone, someone intentionally hit the dark stone and made it explode in my opinion. So the red rock rain has begun, but eden is still functional, we can still reach to space with the help of beam of light.

We use dark stone in our planet because it is maybe the only power source, maybe other planets use different techniques and materials to reach to space

My theory:
ancients used to use light as the source and as the time went by, they found darkstone as new energy source. I picture it as solar energy and nuclear energy irl. They found out that darkstone energy is more useful as they can be touched as things unlike light source. But they didnt know that darkstone is very dangerous and have something against light source aka their 'true life source' (they are born from megabird which is light).

But when they finally realized it, it was too late. The stone has corrupted the kingdom.

This leads me to another question:

1. Why is the rain in forest harmful? I guess it is acid rain. But why? The flood is not harmful tho.

2. Why is forest corrupted more than any realms (we dont talk about eden here)? I know that forest uses darkstone technology more than other realms but why is it forest?

3. What is eden for real, before it is corrupted? Is it used to be the grand castle where the king once stood? If it was, it doesnt seem like a castle to me because there are so many pipes. the remains and terrain do not look like a castle remain to me

4. What was the area after pnr used to be and why is it separated from the area before? If you noticed, there are no signs of doors or any openings to connect the area before and after pnr. It is like... you are teleported somehow

2-) Forest was rich in dark stone so they decided forest as a main dark stone mining area, thats why forest is full of holes and looks corrupted. 3-4) I think those pipes were used to transfer cool water to the place after pnr, i find it similar to nuclear stations. Nuclear stations are always built near rivers and water sources for to cool down the nuclear reactor, I think the giant dark stone we see after pnr works similar to nuclear reactors, they needed to cool down dark stone with water, thats why all area is filled with water

As we all know in Journey, the First discovered Light as a form of energy: and thus began harvesting it by developing some method of weaving it into this wonderful fabric that drastically increased their mobility. The most powerful of these managed to create the Ancestor Robes (white with recharge while walking) and ascended above the early inferior reds. Well as they became fruitful and multiplied, the light (and more importantly the Fabric) began to deplete. Power outages in the major kingdoms means turmoil. The most powerful created the Guardians. Either as a last resort defense or as a weapon to claim the now scarce light. I say both were the case. Everyone was killed by their own greed, and the white robes ancients now linger on in the statues that still survive, now guiding those who were lost and forgotten. Fast forward to sky; and I really like the idea of using this dark material for power; perhaps krill are corrupted guardians? So much mystery

I noticed this through a fanart I found on Pinterest but I found it quite interesting, although it’s quite dark.

My theory is that since the sky kingdoms have been attacked and damaged by darkness, it’s safe to assume that most of the population had to flee. The population of each realm can be determined by the amount of darkness that’s present in each realm.

The Vault and Valley have no plants. The vault is more used for storage purposes, therefore it wasn’t particularly built to contain a population, but rather knowledge. We’ll get to the Valley later.

The Isle and Daylight Prairie have only a few plants here and there. Daylight prairie is more light oriented and most likely stores and inhabits creatures of light, so there would be much less darkness present. The Isle is quite tricky to theorise, however since it is called “The Isle of Dawn”, it would make sense that there would be less darkness present there as well since the word “dawn” means “the first light of day.”

Forest and Wasteland have the MOST plants. The forest is likely where most of the population resided, evidenced by the treehouses and other homely structures. Wasteland was also a battle zone, since we see many weapons scattered around the realm.

Now, remember the spirits? There’s a chance that if you desire to relive a spirits’s memory, you’ll see a small ball in place of the spirit. The plants have small, oddly blue orbs too.

My theory is that, the orbs present in the plants are the souls of spirits that have fallen into darkness. Forest houses most of the population therefore if the darkness came, there would be many plants to signify fallen spirits. And remember Valley? I believe that during the war against the darkness, they recruited Valley spirits to help fight, due to their strong and capable skills. That’s why there’s not much plants in valley, because most went to fight the war in Wasteland.

Eden Spoilers:

||One last thing. In the end of Eden, if you go near the spirits they’ll give you a bit of wax, so do plants (if you burn a singular part of the plant)||

Ah Now this is really similar to my own beloved Corpse Plant Theory

Though I personally think the reason why Forest and Wasteland are so infested with darkness is because of the fact that diamond production happened in both areas.

And additionally, when you burn a spirit's darkness core, it counts towards the "Burn 5 darkness plants" quest

Basically, the corpse plant theory states that the darkness plants are basically fungi that eat away the light essence (wax) of a light source e.g spirits, light creatures, light creations (i.e bells in Prairie). Which meant that the wax that we get from them aren't from the plant itself but from the source it ate it from.

I've been thinking about this, we're the krills always black with blue/red eyes? Or were they white like the manta, bird, and butterflies. Or were they even like krills before the war?
My theory is that, after studying what the krills do and their routes I've come to this

They are usually guarding an area
Passive/aggressive- only when seen.

So 1. They arent one of the best guards, yet they still do their duty after the war is over. Is there something they're still guarding?

2. To what I've found, majority of the creatures are mythical and graceful, the krills and crabs arent as graceful, so were they always this way? Or were they affected by the pollution and the war

3. Did the people before the war have krills as pets and train them to guard and protect the bells before the war?

I'm not sure if this is lore related but definitely is world-building. In the forgotten ark and in the sleepy traveler's boat, blessings are divided by spells, potions and scrolls. I was wondering if there's a reason for this kind of division, because for me it's a bit... incoherent. For example, the "artwork" of the rainbow spell (scroll), huge spell and anti-gravitiy spell (spells both) shows somekind of bottle shape but they are not considered potions. In the other hand, I can understand that the scrolls are mainly instruments/props (fireworks spell, swing spell, table spell and bonfire spell) and the spells are 1-candle blessings (except the fireworks spell that it's considered a scroll). I went to check and I don’t think those names fit the content of the game so much. I would rather call them, diamonds, orbs and potions.
About how they organised the content, it’s pretty clear in fact. Diamonds are used for props that appear in game. Orbs are non permanent effects about fly help or glowing for a short time, it mainly affect the cape. Potions are about our avatar: things we drink to grow or get smaller.

In the floor representing Mountains we can see lot of technology - mainly floating platforms, while in the next one representing Golden Wasteland there is only a light creature. Why that? All floors from 3rd level represent something from that level's realm. Think of it like those are minimalist versions of realms.
Like in forest level we can see the trees and the structure that we see over and over again in forest. Forest was mainly for mining to extract darkstone so there wasn't much structure
For valley since it was the golden age of sky it has a lot of things and life. The structures are also similar to those in valley.
While wasteland was actually a factory area but it was transformed into a fortress after light creatures attacked so all life was gone from there. So it was technologically advanced but just for making diamonds. Bones were pretty noticeable at that level so it is there also the creature seem to be like a elder creature that was in wasteland once

Also wasteland mainly has diamond press same as forest so i guess it would've been hard to put that huge thing in vault

Personally i think all of those things are spilled knowledge from diamonds or a virtual/projection space

Oreo is an ‘Easter Egg’ but to me, nah.
Oreo is a good boi. Oreo is half/light half dark.
Now here’s the lore: Light and darkness were at the peaks of its generations. But because of so much light and darkness, some of it collided and the atoms merged together, creating a half light half dark creature, our friend Oreo. So if you are asking why I though Oreo is half light and dark, here’s why. He has black and white fur. Before you say, “but sky kids have dark skin”, Oreo has white FUR and black FUR. Fur is like hair. Sky kids have white hair. I’m assuming dark creatures would have black hair. Oreo was a nice pup. He(?) was kind to both light and dark and was a bridge between the two. He visited alive spirits and dark creatures sometimes. When Eden exploded, he managed to survive, due to his gene of being both light and dark. He is upset about darkness, so stays with light in prairie, his favorite location.
(Disclaimer: this is only a theory I made for fun. It is highly unlikely.)

Origins is related to Isle, Childhood to prairie, etc. There is succession about the realms. I doubt that they build the forgotten arch at the same time the golden kid went into the trials of prophecy.

I think we are made of light, but ancestors when they were alive were pretty much like humans. They needed shelter, they build houses and cities. They are never shown eating but they hunt in forest.

In these prophecy murals, the trainees (blue spirits) seem to possibly be failing the trials (laying on the ground in the water trial, falling in air trial) you do die in the trials but you do respawn. Did these trainees die in the trials and not come back since they dont have capes?

Also, it seems to be that the only person who completed all trials was the golden child, so what happened to the rest of the spirits?
