I think it is dark because if exposed it will literally be burning everything near it. Instead the plasma thing turns into something harder and protective. This is also the case for the side of the head that is exposed while wearing other masks. Also it may be to protect the actual light/flame leaking out

i think that it has to do with both how light works and for aesthetics

-black skin is just how the game was done aesthetically (probably to contrast white hair)

-black objects absorb more light than white objects, which tend to reflect it. Maybe it means that skykids can absorb light?

That might explain how Sky kids are able to recharge themselves after having little to no light. It might just not be fast enough to recharge themselves fully without an outside force though.

I know that the windows in the Village of Dreams are lit for aesthetic purposes, however I like to imagine that they are ghostly remnants of the past - like the streamers on the Ark. I know that you heal the land with whatever is left of the light, but the immaterial decorations I think are remnants too.

I’m thinking that might be the case, because the crystal tree in the Vault has leaves and the trees in the Forest kind of look like the dead trees near the Ark. So they are either dead (and died of unnatural causes - hence the corpse (probably logging)) or they’re still alive and the lack of leaves is just a programming element.

I think there was prolly some kinda civil war in the process, to do with the diamonds and their use. But the whole thing got cut short due to a much bigger and less selective enemy causing both sides to need to fight the same.

From that point on it was not anti diamond and pro diamond. It was sky kingdom and its light creatures vs darkness. At least I think judging by all the krill prowled skeletons, fallen weapons and that one poor dude next to the catapult.

Could someone please explain the significance of the diamond/tetrahedron that is recurring in Sky? The one the Forest elder constructs and the Vault elder activates?

Can we give you a solid answer? No. Do we have old theories we can dust off, yes.

We know that the diamonds are associated with technology. In concepts there was a thing called darkstone that acted as the founding of the ancestor's technology. Most of the ideas have been changed a bit tho. We have plants where there used to be stone in Light Awaits (pre-launch)

One concept refered to dark stone being discovered in Forbidden Forest - the area we know today as Hidden Forest.

This stone, combined with light (dark concept art assocated with this theory) essentially powered all tech.

Beyond that, it maters most what you are looking for

Not much. There was a comment from one of the devs, but the rest is speculative.

Concept Wasteland was more a cross between suburbia and a junkyard.

The Eden Diamond (big floty one) is a diamond that just sits there, absorbing or releasing a beam of light. There appears to have been a war in GW. And in one dark concept, power diamonds were made using one part manta/butterfly juice. Given the factory nature of GW now, it could have been overuse of available resources?

One all or none of these could be a big deal

One theory I like is that the prince (Elder we don't see in game but see statues of)'s mask was made of darkstone, but the darkstone had the ability to grow, causing it to demand more and more light, and as the mask outgrew his ability to provide, he was forced to seek light elsewhere until he could no longer!

But uh... This is a theory based on a very vaguely person shaped imprint on one of the concept images for the king so uh

Here's what I thought: It occurs to me that the land of Sky is like the story of civilization. Isle is when you first step onto a new land. Prairie is when you learn to live with the nature of that land. Forest ks when a civilisation first learns to make its own tools and technology. Valley is when people start building cities. Wasteland is what happens when a land falls to war. Vault is all knowledge, recorded history – maybe like the Library of Alexandia. Eden is where you try to look for survivors and salvage what was lost.

I've also noticed that the spirits in each realm follow a theme. Isle spirits are just indication emotes. Prairie spirits are playful. Forest spirits are a bit mature, I guess? They show a wider range of emotion. Valley spirits are kind of…I guess competitive is a good word. Wasteland spirits are all dark and militaristic. Vault spirits are of the mind: telekinesis, the scholar pose…

I have an alternative theory to the gw ground barriers being built for krill protection. I noticed that the stones in the prairie villages looked awful similar (particularly the island where the waving spirit is). Gw could possibly be from the same general area as prairie, just corrupted

He’s not really pictured outside of maybe concept art? The running theory is that the king was the guy who finished all the trials in prophecy murals. Kind of a chosen one situation. He, along with our elders, pushed the use of light by any means possible in sky. Because it led to the destruction of these creatures, it led to the corruption of him and those involved. It is theorized that he was defeated by wasteland elder. The king is no more. His “city” is Eden. Although they were also involved in the corruption, their involvement in taking down the king is why our 6 elders still remain to light the way for descendants

inspired by a comment earlier about krill coming from mantas, those of you who are familiar with the game bloodborne will understand when i make the comparison of krill being to manta as the orphan is to kos - a twisted version of the progenitor, stuck between life and death, all they can do is mindlessly rage at the ones who trapped them in reality. they target the children, the descendents of the previous nation, due to the physical resemblance (i have another budding theory on the previous nation being a creator race, so the sky kids are made in their image) and also the fragments of the spirits of the forebears that power the sky children.

So i was talking about time travelling and this gave me an idea! isle elder first figured out time travelling and decided to see how his descendants are doing, so made a portal to prairie time period. but before he went through the portal he fell sick and died. Prairie elder then found it and decided to keep it a secret. He also forbid people from going to the social area to keep it a secret(no spirits there)...then he tried to build another one and the same thing went on until valley when the siblings had a huge argument on whether they should keep it a secret or not....and one of them got mad and decided to wage ware which allowed darkness to take advantage of it....then of course dora lost ;w; and so the golden wasteland elder(or valley elder in this theory) decided to keep the portals secret like how his sister wanted it to be....and he never touched them again. But then he noticed how much of a mess the realms are, and almost no light creatures were left, so he built this huge tower with the remaining light, with different levels to remember the ancestors.
Note:eden was always there, for the same purpose, to give light to megabird
And the darkness in forest is because of the need to advance in technologies.
The whole area was always there, but forbidden at that time, and you're just time travelling while continue moving on

I had a lil theory or question, tbh idk what to call it, bc I'm new I'm still a bit unknown with most of the concepts of the king and prince (I read the doc, so in up to date with that). But something interesting that kept me awake last night had me thinking....
Were there children ever born in the skies? Like if the spirits could had children? I was perhaps thinking they were born obv from stars, but when they all fell to the clouds, no other child was born, and the rest who fell that were kids grew up to being adults OR they found a way to make kids and that's using light or magic. This is just speculation tbh I got not much evidence for this other than the hide and seek spirit as she seems to be like a young spirit playing games (also her mask makes u look like a bebe version of yourself) sorry if this has been discussed before and it sounds dumb

Basically what my main point or theory was....following what I said, if no kids were born from the spirits and let's say that the only child (not counting us) that falls from the skies and found by the spirits on the first realm is the prince, it would made sense as to why that child was crowned prince in the first place, he fell from the skies, the stars, something they haven't seen ever since they themselves fell, that's like if a baby fell from the skies that comes from a divine light, like a god of sorts and immediately worshipped. Looking at the old messages and the concept art for the prince, he looks young, he looks like a child, and already the prince. What if he was the only child at that time period to ever fall from the stars, and crowned prince at a young age. This is speculation, my own guesses, if anybody has any evidence to sort of like....idk reinforce this or not then I'm willing to hear

One of them is that the krill and crabs are just naturally occurring creatures that were weaponized by the Elders for some war

Another theory is that they were intentionally created by the megabird to keep balance, predator and prey like on earth.

If you asked I would think of it like this.
The Krill were and and was always some type Apex Predator that pretty much hunted anything and everything. Just like how sharks would prey on anything that would move, just a light thirsty being that did that. Crabs on the other hand, as you could see in some areas they are just the friendliest and cute things you could see. But the in the time of the war they ended up adapting to the harsh living and had to force themselves to either kill or be killed. The Darkness couldve just infected the crabs like a sickness which leads to spreading and inhabiting the other realms.

What if when king corrupted, a kind of evil wave created and changed krills and crabs, since they are at wasteland and wastland is the nearest kingdom to eden? The wave didn’t affected other realms too much, but it stoped the time and every realm is living only one time of a day. And the winged light are the souls of the childrens of those kingdoms and they are traped and turnded into this form while bodies are destroyed by wave since they are just children and they were not strong enough to escape from it. The people are just died because they were strong and their soul escaped to the sky.

I have a theory of dark creatures based on the frescoes in Forgotten Ark from Enchantment Season. First, Krills and crabs have different origins. Observing the fresco on the ark, Krills were accidentally made out of the elements that the elders carried. When the ark sailed through a storm, these elements were hit by the lightning and turned into the krills. Crabs, on the other hand, were just like the light creatures such as Mantas. However judging from the fresco in the caves next to the ark, after the elders came and the land dried out beacuse of the newcomers (the elders), the crabs became hostile to the elders. This explains why the krill attack light creatures but crabs don't.

I have a feeling Praying Acolyte and Tearful Light Miner are connected in a way. I dunno if someone else had said something like this so I apologize if I'm repeating/copying your theory
But all I have in mind is that ever since Miner's friend died as we see in reliving it's spirit, it then goes on to travel to Vault as time passes and becomes Praying Acolyte. I have no evidence other than the fact their hair is literally the same but except one is shorter so I just thought that it abandoned it's job as a Miner and became a Acolyte in memory of their friends that died as time passes

I assume it's a kind of more ancient creature. The same thing appears in Underground Cavern (in Hidden Forest). It just bounces above the cloud and decents, and it's speed it so fast that it's also hard to keep up in eden. Maybe the huge skeleton in Boneyard is left by one of its species.

in her cutscene she seems very sad and lonely and shes surrounded by toumbs - do you think its the other elders toumbs? since the war ecloded and vault is the library were is kept the knowledge, maybe she was the only one that stayed alive in that time. she also looks very sad when opening the door to you, coz she knows you're going to the storm and to suffer

The dark might have found a way to save Skykids by taking an important part of us and storing it somewhere safe until the worst of the storm passes. The rest of us becomes fuel, for obvious reasons, but then we are allowed to have that part of us back so we can be reborn
