I also think wasteland is definitely involved, especially because when you hit that last switch, 3 appear
OH, KRILLS ARE THE HOLY BURRITOS
yeah. the flame could've activated the darkstone in the krills, causing them to wake up and be hungry
but i dont think krill necessarily came from the orange light
ok stop the burritos pls
Well, I actually believe that the reason the krill, (and crabs), attack the light is because of the war against them in the past. I based this opinion off of this timeline that was shared from the concept art found on zhao's website. Of course to be fair, things may have changed since the game went into live release
Though, they're shown to appear not long when GW got the Orange Light (Proph murals)
i think the krill have just become infected with darkstone
And also, each realm that got an elemental light had problems related to the element they got Water in Forest made rain that hurts us, Valley froze the waters
Wait, I just reread the timeline I posted and it does mention creatures getting corrupt
Prairie is fine, cause the Green Light was meant to be there all along
The timeline's not canon tho, take it with a pinch of salt
Like I said, it might have changed, and as mentioned in the pins, this channel isn't necessarily meant to discuss what's canon but to pitch theories and interpretations (oo, a burrito)
Ok
Sorry, I didn't mean to shut you down or anything, you had a valid point, I just wanted to point out that I was saying how I interpreted things.
I personally like using the timeline because it ties everything together and makes sense to me, now the elemental lights are a very interesting thing to consider, I'll admit that I haven't thought of how they factor in
You know, looking at the corruption thing, perhaps the the krill and crabs in the murals aren't the ones that we know them to be, but them in their pre-corrupted form. And the reason why there are light crabs are because that's what they were before and those few just happened to be safe from the big Eden explosion.
Okay I hear you on the crabs are baby krill theory, but consider
Krill are young Crabs
Baby Krill are born of inky darkness and emerge hungry for light
As they feed, they burn off more and more of their darkness, greatly reducing their own mass
Just one word, but a powerful one
What
There are good crabs in sanc
If you look at my more recent post, I talk about that (^ν^)
Oh oki
For MegaKrill, I imagine you find a really deep dark cave
And then you realize the exit is no longer where it was
It was significant memory lamo not specific
I want megakrill. I want krill nest of doom.
Sameee but just no jump scares like how that one Journey Guardians poof from the ground
are there really non-aggresive crabs? i didn't notice
In sanctuary
why is there a call bubble on the krill when they attack?
what if they add the octopus from the concept...
I think it would be cool running away from that thing with your freinds would be fun
a mutated creature that lurks in the murky waters...
to 🐙
Call... Bubble?

This?
Idk why i imagine it like comic bubble thing
💭
I thought that was a honk
Krill honk
We're kinda children of darkness or shadow, right? That's why we're faceless and everything interchangeable (capes, hair) are white or colored
We collect light from candles and such to live. We don't actually produce any. Basically a shadow o3o we die without light.
Hello everyone!
Sorry for some phrasing mistakes beforehand,I'm not a native english speaker,so I might make some mistakes.
I have a theory is that we unlock portals to discover the history of the previous civilization(obviously) but the order that we unlock the portals in represent the development of the civilization from the start till the very end.But all realms co-exist together
In my theory the first realm we have to discover is "isle of dawn" we are taken back in time,to the time when, the world of sky was still forming and isle was probably the first ever place for the ancestor spirits to live in,before they decided to settle to the skies.
There were also no buildings present.
.
Daylight prairie is the part of development, when villages were starting to form. It seems like the roots of the "light trading economy" started there
.
The forest was more advanced,as the said economy progressed, they began to built a diamond factories(we notice the presence of the diamond powered doors, signifying that. The forest temple seems to be a diamond factory, that used to capture mantas,to harvest their light.
.
Valley of triumph is the phase when the economy peaked, which resulted in building of a big city, that consisted mostly of people with the higher class.
.
It seems like, because the economy was run on the light of mantas, which lead to their massive capturing, without the light, the darkness started to rise,in form of dark plants and dark creatures.
Golden wasteland is rumored to be a forest in the past, that was later made into a city. The depiction of wasteland, shows how the economy brought harm to the world and resulted in a tragedy. Soldiers were sent to battle the krills, but would lose with the absence of light.
.
Vault is the phase, where the darkness, spread so much, that the civilization already prepared for the worst, and built a vault,to store the memories of the past world in(the lanterns)
....
Then the last phase,the tragedy.
The eden realm was a famous paradise, that ran on a big power diamond, after the balance between darkness and light was interrupted,it caused the diamond to explode and destroy the whole realm.
.
It is also noticable that prairie is the realm with less dark plants, because of the presence of light. The mantas only appear when we burn the darkness.
Forest being on the middle, and golden wasteland being the darkest realm.
Valley not being affected is possibly due,to the fact, that it's located in the mountains, basically above the clouds, so it doesn't get cloudy.
It's possible to suspect, that it was purposely built so high, for the higher class,so the darkness wouldn't affect them
Do we know if/how Journey lore relates to Sky’s?
journey and sky are canonically separate universes, but youre welcome to connect them if you like
I see...so a burrito v. taco situation, if you will
what is it with you and burritos
But in all seriousness, it almost feels like journey is the journey of the Ancients and Sky is the epic of the descendants
I mean, in their heyday, the civilization of the ancients would be much different than what we see in the game. We see the after-effect: the land is still affected by the damage done from by the ancients, but has had a chance to somewhat be reclaimed by nature. Journey seems more artificial—maybe it’s all the ribbon floating around, or that the “creatures” in journey seem almost completely artificial
Also, if the heights of the elders are indicative of the ancients as a separate lineage, we see that their height is much more in line with journey
But journey also had larger than life ancestors, so maybe this isnt the first cycle of ancestor-descendancy. Like the rebirth cycle, this worldbird has seen many cycles of destruction and rebirth
So maybe those in journey aren’t necessarily the sky elders, but elders a few down the line
oh yeah and i also made a theory relating to the elements and the problem with the elders
i think it was this one
since the elders dont receive the light correctly, thry are missing some things
I'm pretty confused here
I think they're asking the tabs that appear when you reach stormlock uhh why are one of the tabs asking if you want to go home???
isn't it what's supposed to happen
usually you do get asked if you want to go home regardless of whether you agree to go forward or not
Well if you want to ask questions please go to #questions-and-help this is lore thanks
Here's a few images of the light crystal thingy-s in vault!
They seem to be a type of projector, with an image or info being programed/carved into the front bit and then illuminated with fire to make a projection!
Atleast that's what I think
That's exactly how they work
oh god thats terrifying
Mega krill, so large you can't tell the difference between beast and cave
but is that canon or just concept art
didn't the mods say we shouldn't take the concepts as canon?
we shouldnt take them as canon, but we can use them as guidelines
I mean they did, but they are really close in appearence and nature
still
this is likely not intentional, but in the off chance that it is...
you can skip both isle and prairie elders
what do u guys think about that?
those two elders and their inhabitants seem to be the most in tune with the light creatures and rebirth
Isle Elder's role is to guide or lead creatures to the Light
My HC is that he kinda retired at some point when Prince came in
Prairie's role is being the guardian of the Light creatures
Well, it seems like it with Isle Elder's murals in Isle, and Prairie Elder Pin poem in SkyShop
so im wondering wether the fact you can skip those elders without actually oobing, is intentional and wether it could be related to lore
Wait how do you skip Isle?
Isle has a door behind it
Prarie I could see though. You can sometimes be forced to "grow up too fast" and not get to really be a kid
Valley is one you can skip, but it's not easy
You have to oob though
you can oob as well
Well for that matter consider whatever metaphor of the realms we can/can’t return to by backing up from the next realm (iirc returning to Valley temple from GW is the only one left), or the temples that cut off access to the rest of their own realm once you enter (Forest, GW, and Vault temples are one-way entry)
Mods? WHERE?!
do you want to join the lore community too
Skybot has been throwing out theories at least since prophecy
You should have seen us - trying to sift through Skybot's messages for lore hints
And then realize skybot has nothin to do with lore?
We had to be told
i was telling yall since the beginning, but yall wouldnt listen
its literally a bot why did you think it had anything to do with the lore
thats just the way things are in lore chat, we grab everything we can find
Hm-
The broken lift tower one intrigued me
Does that mean that place already abandoned before the total wipe out?
Uhm
what did i do ;-;
B o n k

O no the hermit has been driven away before the fall even happened
??
h
HELLO LORE CHAT-
Howdee
Hello
Hello
What do the skykids hide under their masks?
Face
oh
How do sky kids play the air instruments without any visible mouth?
It's called energy loves
I mean the instruments that have the mouth near them like a human
Lol
It's a illusion
Question everyone:
What is the story behind each cut-scene? I have this new player who just started playing it ... and they were a bit confused
The each elder cut scene
For instance... valley... they were confused about that the "twins" steal the Sky kid's fire 🔥
they don't steal it, they harness it for entertainment
The new player was something like: "they took my fire... why?"
wait i'll type a quick explanation of each cuscene
They were also confused that the twins yeeted the fire into the air
Isle: He is blind and weakened. You give him light so he regains sight and face so he can guide the creatures of light to the migration to orbit, where they are supposed to go.
Prairie: You give prairie elder light and flame. He turns it into a butterfly. This represents the discovery of turning light into creatures of light. It also represents how they found out that creatures of light are useful.
Forest: She snatches the light from you. She uses it to create refined darkstone, the thing that powers almost all of the sky civilisation.
Valley: They use this light to have fun.
Wasteland: He takes this light to regain strength and bravery to fight against the
army of darkness.
Vault: Not so sure on this one. They use light to store this knowledge???
I think the Elders need the fire to live and Valley fight over the fire to live and don’t wanna share, basically, then they need to return it to the sky and Valley do it a bit rushed
Does this answer your questions @lament crane ?
ok

Quick question:
If a creature of light dies in somewhere else that is not eden/ not close nough to the ascension beam, do they die forever and are unable to be reborn?
I don't think it's about the distance of a light creature from the ascension beam that stops it from going through the cycle but rather how it died
Iirc it was mentioned somewhere that cosmic mantas are mantas that died an unusual death
Those ones from vault
Exactly
They're very near eden, beside it even
so if a manta is very old (natural death), but has a massive wall or something is stopping it from reaching the ascension beam, does it get reborn or become a cosmic/spirit manta?
Hmm...
do you think the white out screens when entering a new realm is a skip thing?
You see spirit manta somewhere around RIGHT AFTER ||the statue area|| ... as in the ||orbit|| as well ... so they are in a *reborn stage as well 🤔
I think 🤔
Somewhere around...
Here
- still donno how to spoiler tag a pic

To spoiler tag a picture, rename the file name to begin with “SPOILER_”, or (desktop only) click the “Mark as spoiler” box when you upload it. To rename on iOS, export image to the Files app > rename > share to Discord.
Ok, thank you 😊
Nono,, I don't think it's that way.. I think something is fishy going on Vault
Lmao imagine the rebirth cycle, the law of nature and everything in it being stopped by a wall
do you have a image of the spirit manta there?
Maybe? Perhaps they just die
Yeah, same! All the floating stuff really gives off the vibe that the place is very... supernatural

Also is it just me or does the hidden forrest have a garden motif to it?
hello lore people
yeah no need to spoiler tag things here, this is lore chat, in the name of the chat its said spoilers are here
Hey I remember I made a bunch of memes about all the sky chats a while ago so here’s yours
👁️ 👄 👁️ Accurate

So what's the hot topic right now haven't been following this channel for a while
Do you want a theory import from Tumblr?
Who’s resh
"resh" is the placeholder name for the king
The great knight @pastel brook, slayer of Lore gods has hurled the almighty ones who animated this channel with their power into the deepest pit and sealed it shut
Isle: Daleth (ד)
Prairie: Ayin (ע)
Forest: Teth (ט)
Valley: Samekh (ס)
Wasteland: Tsadi (צ)
Vault: Lamed (ל)
Prince: Alef (א)
King: Resh (ר)
PLEASE NOTE: These names have appeared in concept art and are often used when referring to the elders. They were never canon, they were placeholders, and now they are fanon.
previous elder ?
Well
I don't think their was one! (That we know of)
all we know of is tsadi
wait who are we talking about?
oh, thats not a temple
The elders are seemingly immortal or atleast, very god-like
Wha
its a factory
that's the manta juicer
but is the same as the forest temple
the temples arent solely for elders, theyre places of work that the elder valued
The Forrest temple is a factory as well !
the "forest temple" is a factory firstly, temple secondly
W h y
They made the light batteries (blue crystals). Which are used throughout the game in almost all technology in sky kingdom!

you seem pretty new to lore, would you like a short introduction document ?
Why there’s a broken ark at the way up to Eden?
I had a totally diferent theory and view
what broken ark ?
Ace starting strong on the questions
Y e s
There isn't! (In game that is)
Unless you mean the forgotten ark in wasteland that is
There’s a B O A T in the way up to Eden
Not as big as the forgotten ark
More like the one at wasteland
where ? all i know of are some small ones scattered about in the first area
First area
Like the warship in the off section in wasteland with the red light?
Down the little ones
Y e s
I had some ideas of what did happend cuz of that
And why is there an ocean in GW
Is that the sea lvl?
It means that it’s the same altitude as isle

Why the damn forest rain kills you
Because it's rain
And you're a light creature
Because the water in home is pure, while the ocean water in wasteland is very very polluted!
(Same with the hidden Forrest rain)
Why king it’s dead?
Most likely the result of the tragedy that befell eden
How hidden forest clouds got@polluted?
And created the strom
What happened to alef?
Probably due to the storm from eden!
Why it’s the king statue on top of the GW temple and alef statue all along the place?
I think
Or
We don't actually know! It's widely guessed on but nothing is for certain
Hmmmmmm
The GW doesn’t look like a elder to me
More like a honorable warrior that fought for the protection of vault
Keeping the darkness away from the vault
That way becoming elder
Because the GW was once a vibrant location (potentially something akin to the sahel in Africa or maybe just a desert with a lot of trade) and the king commissioned the construction of all those pillars to cement their authority!
My theory: the previous GW elder used to be the dud in statue we see all over the place
Hmmmm
They're a elder and a warrior! Like how the Forrest elder is an elder and a blacksmith
Hmmmmmmm
That
Changes some stuff
Those are king statues, not statues of the GW elder
What about valley then?
We don't know the king is dead
And what are the statues on top of the GW temple
We know he is "not around to be saved anymore"
Very very large king statues
Ow
They aren't if you manage to make your way up their to look at them
He may or may not be the king himself
Who created us?
The mega bird (probably)
True!
Some one at the very beginning of the game told us our mission
WE DON'T KNOW AND I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIINS ABOUT US THAT IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE
Hmmm
I think
There’s
Some one that it’s “light”
And some one that it’s “darkness”
We only have theories about who that is. King? Prince? Megabird? A spirit?
I think king still exist
As all light creatures
And he’s son alef exist in darkness
That
Could make sense
@clear lynx this is what is assumed to be the mega bird btw
Yup ^^
Hmmmmmm
Still wanna see it, @graceful osprey
The megabird is either a god-like figure in the sky universe or a personification of the cycle of rebirth
Either way they play an important part in the story and we're worshiped for a long time before being supplanted by the king- GO DO YOUR ONLINE CLASS

They probably didn't
The sky kingdom!
Where’s the throne
I call it Horizon cause Horizon is where land and sky meet
In orbit, floating
Probably somewhere in Eden.
Such a gangster
Eden was the assumed capitol of the sky kingdom and the place where the King's castle was!
Ye
They founded a city over the clouds
That says
At the very beginning
But
Why is all destroyed up there?
Due to the tragedy that destroyed the sky kingdom
What was the tragedy?
We don't know what it was
Hmmmmmmmm
e x p l o s i o n
But we know it's results
Well

We can see at GW krill stuff all over the place
Including scars on surfaces
Shields
Sepears
It may or may not have something to due with an invasion of krill destroying the GW, the pollution of the environment by the ancestors, and the broken power diamond in eden
We do know a war between the Krill and sky millitary happened! But we don't know if that's what destroyed the sky kingdom
Why is vault a non existing place?
Sorta
you remember the factories?
which I called manta juicers?
It's a tower that goes inside the moutain!
It's just very spacious
The part “juicer” makes me not believe on that
There’s no mountain
Line
Like
how do you think the power diamonds are made
Light
Our light
I didddddd
Sorta! There's a storm on top of the mountain (which both might be called eden)
But some of them look unreal
Until you see them, the whole 'manta juicer' thing sounds like an edgy theory
Vault still a non existing place
Kinda...
light creatures light
It's inside a mountain
Here it is
I want to be inside a mountain now
“Manta juicer” I like the concept
But
Still kinda edgy ngl
Then
Why
Wait
Wait
Wait
To be fair, the light butterflies were probably the main source of power
Prophecy
Oh yeah this game's concepts were EDGY
Forest elder would lead you to your doom and Wasteland elder would literally die for you
You have anything for what the prophecy told us?
Wow, they r toxic
Prophecy was a vision of the future from the past!
I know what the definition of prophecy is
It told how the sky kingdom would form, how the ancestors were made, etc
I wanna know what the cave of prophecy tells about our storie in sky
Wait
By the time the murals where written
The elders still exist
Cuz
They r at the murals
That means
What I was trying to say was that it wasn't a prophecy of the future from the time the game takes place in
That’s something something
at the follow emote
There’s a kid falling from the sky
That's believed to be the prince (who may later become the king)
That means that the stars did exist among the spirits?
Yes
Hmmmmmmmm
(One of the spirits in the Isle of dawn has them discover a fallen sky kid)
Maybe
No, the megabird did
The king came about later
In a diferent time
H o w
Well
The megabird is weird
I thing of megabird as the one that guides you all along your adventure
Cuz
He’s a bird
All birds fly toward the normal path
And guide you if your lost
megabird is referred to by the concepts with she/her pronouns
They're more of a constellation in the shape of a bird, actually!
The sky kids are more or less following the migration path of the light creatures to reach eden
But Eden it’s corrupted
Or
Uh oh...
How did it got into GW but not into vault
Vault is a literal vault
there is darkness in vault, just limited amounts
after all, its a vault, its high-security and difficult to penetrate
Plants
what about them ?
They are made of darkness
Oh, the plants feed off of the darkness/pollution
And due to it's limited amount in vault the plants can't really grow there
theres dark crabs there too, those have darkness as well
True, true
I mean
Those ain’t corrupted crabs
Have you compared GW crabs and forest/vault ones?
But the dark crabs are kinda creatures who got corrupted rather than born with darkness like the Krill
theyre all the same, some are just bigger/smaller
we dont know that for certain
The ain’t the same colour
thats just bc of lighting
GW ones are darker
That's atleast my interpretation of the mural in the Forgotten ark area
Then the manta at GW would be darker too
Aren't the friendly sanctuary crabs darker in color than the angry ones?
The manta glow
The angry ones are darker
mantas give off light therefore lighting around them wouldnt affect them as much as it does for opaque things
And bigger
They eat more
All crabs have that
not all of them, the angry ones in forest temple are rather small
And brighter
bc of the lighting
My theory is that crabs aren't infected, the angry ones are just hungry
Cause their water is either gone or dark
Based on the mural in the Forgotten ark that might be true!
Well there is that crab roast in the boneyard...

Now I wonder how dark crabs taste
Ooo, that would be cool!
Blocking a krill Attack whit shield
...
Are krills the only threat?

In GW they have ground barriers
Pretty much unless you count the crabs as dangerous
Why would they need ground barriers agains flaying op gangsters
There is the possibility that the gw had a civil war!
#teamironman
Between a diamond and a sun faction (based on the different weapon designs)
Wot
Hold on let me grab the evidence brb
I just hope some day SKY decide on work at a GW season
Revelations
And
Idk, visions of what it used to be in the past
.
ive been summoned
(Well the designs atleast)
AAAAAA SORRY GO BACK TO SLEEP

its early for sneep!
but have fun lore-ing hahhaa
I just had... A Thought
You know how we get infinite tries to do stuff and know when we fail by how much we failed
Some Machine Learning algorithms are like that
GENERATION THEORY
What if we are just a simulation so as to maje a single perfect skykid model

yes pls
I wonder what was picked up by the spirit
that's most definitely bugged, but it looks super cool
This game operates on Avatar rules
We abduct children and take over their bodies to mine wings. ||“Losing” wings in Eden|| is just us harvesting the collected wings
What’s this about aliens?
Why do I suddenly feel like a villain
Since we "take-over" 'em... guess we already ARE villains...
From "their" POV... if they would be "sentient" :SkyLOL:

ohhh i've always had that question!
what if we (the skykids) were servants of a higher force and are farming light to return the power to whatever force we're serving?
WHAT IF THE SKY KIDS WERE ACTUALLY REAL? AS IN REAL LIFE? AMONG US
Lmao
If the elders were also real, they would definetly be over 2 meters tall.
Like ALL of them
Including the Vault Elder
Would they get revenge for ALL THOSE TIMES we took over them?
No idea
The sky kids i mean

Tall grandma/auntie
Would they "send" us to their digital world and control us like WE done with them?
Would they "get" us to eden to feel the pain along the way they had?
Would they emote-spam with us like WE do to them?
Would we get along with each other eventually?

Probably. I guess
I honestly have no idea
Sus
But the chibi skykids would be ADORABLE irl (if they are not vengeful)
If they were just mixed into our society... I think we'd mostly be fine?
Not everyone plays, and none of them know who their players are
But I am kinda surprised at how sturdy they are
But people would probably find them cute immediatly, and they'd be interedted in our very different light sources. Maybe angry that they can't absorb energy from all of them though
Interesting
Eventually industries would crop up to support them. Laws would adapt to their presence
If that would be the case, I would rather have a skykid than a real child
Welp
Gotta go sneep
True thi
Tho*
I don't think skykid adoptions wouls be a thing.
Skykids are full grown, and while they may not be used to our economic structure, they still need to be recognised as adults
they probably wont have to. If skykids exist, they cannot exist in earth's conditions, and must be on another planet instead
How about privacy laws? Can you imagine sunbathing in your garden and suddenly, a group of 4 Skykids show up, throwing confetti and making manta + crab deep call?! It would be terrifying and chaos!
Maybe, but they understand gestures
A couple of stomps, a hand and a point towards the gate and they will probably know they aren't welcome
Oooor, they would spam those emotes and point you back in a frenzy

Terrifying!
And they would probably pile tables upon the pool or put a bonefire vertically near my kitchen window, and try to “lit” my dog
Skykids are full grown?
Well, they are different from the ancestors. Even if we call them kids, they might be adults in their way.
Fair point
Plus we reincarnate a lot so that probably racks up mental age
I think so. It’s like if “being a grownup” would be more about knowing a lot of emotes and so that learning from past spirits is helping Skykids to communicate properly. In a more and more complex way and variety.
hm... hey can you even call our reincarnation a "true reincarnation"? We aren't becoming anyone else
we're just... like pheonixs
it's more of a born-again immortality
I bet Skids are the best/worst babysitters
They can probably keep up with the wildest toddler and 3 year old, but might not realize how dangerous they can be
i would love a skykid instead of a human child tbh
Skykids are still the adults of their species tho
yes
wait who are we talking about?
isn’t Alef the king?
Alef may or may not become Resh
In the concepts it went the other way tho
Lil Alef broke us all out of big Resh
none of the elders have confirmed names, right?
I thought Rush is the name of alef when become corrupted
They are now "Elder of the <realm>"
huh
Common theory
uhhh i know vault as Lamed, forest as Teth, and valley as Sah (male presenting) and Mek (female presenting)
mainly cus that’s what names they had when they appeared in our system lmao
Yeah but answer pls the question, Rush is...?
i do not see the twins as gender. Mostly trouble
X2 with no gender
Resh is painfully absent from known lore, despite his presence in it
Like one of those adds that is just a name
And is there any reason to think Rush is light?
Honestly there is not enough information in that question to answer it
i say the twins both have no gender but they present as female-male
well everybody is nonbinary canonically yeah?
yes, but in my opinion; they present as somewhat binary, the only elder i say that presents as andro is vault elder
GW elder is in battle gear and Isle is literally in a dress.
....huh?
Hi

They’d be like the legendary “moth man”
Which I saw on a show once while I just so happened to be playing Sky
If they are in real life our curiosity will be in its highest time and capture all of them doing tests and maybe looking what's the insides
i see convos about the elder names, i send the copypasta once again
Isle: Daleth (ד)
Prairie: Ayin (ע)
Forest: Teth (ט)
Valley: Samekh (ס)
Wasteland: Tsadi (צ)
Vault: Lamed (ל)
Prince: Alef (א)
King: Resh (ר)
PLEASE NOTE: These names have appeared in concept art and are often used when referring to the elders. They were never canon, they were placeholders, and now they are fanon.
also elders canonically do not have genders, its up to you to hc what you believe they are
personally i think theyre all genderfluid and able to shapeshift
Well tbh seeing how a sky child’s anatomy works would be interesting
Do skykids always keep a red candol on them? So that they can whip it out anytime?
their red candol is that light in their chest, actually
hu woa
is that why it glows after collecting ascended candle bits in || orbit?||
No need to spoiler tag
habit,,
I didn’t know that the red candle is our heart light
I never thought it through about the caption when entering the Village, don't know the exact English version, something along the lines "a spark that ingnite a simple community"
The "spark" maybe is the drinking dancer, an errand performer, just after arriving in the Village he meets Skater Girl and by showing up some moves it ignites her new passion dancing while skating, thus she ask (alot) for the Twirl Master learn from the best
Drinking dancer?
in english it's "a spark that inspires a humble community" iirc
...I might recall correctly, I try to remember too hard the line😅
I call it drinking, cause he brings a bottle/vase from which he drinks (and in the finale cutscene, he throw it away so instead of drinking he joins the others skating)
I was not aware the dancer was a drunkard
You ever think about how the elders all have their own animal associated with them except for Valley?
Like Isle has the birds, Prairie has butterflies, I guess Forest could be crab or fish? Wastelands is Krill and Vault is Spirit mantas
Which would you assign for forest, and what do you think about valley?
Valley can be associated with mantas
Probably mantas
the old valley constellation was a manta, so yeah, thats probably what theyre associated with
(old as in concepts, never made it to the game iirc)
its like
isle - birds
prairie - butterflies
forest - whale things
valley - mantas
wasteland - krill or whurtles
vault - spirit manta
eden - skids
I haven’t really seen all the concepts of the game
the pins are very helpful uwu
Ye
the clothing change thing has amogus
Mmmmnnnn
🤔this world has pigeons…
where?
me stupid
birds near my leg
Huh... they wouldn't "face" earth conditions... as in environment ... any why not tho

Sky kids BEING among us
idk man sb above that message talkin sth i didnt read carefuly
also ur pfp noice
And a veteran Sky Kid, would rush to the little moth to save him from "danger"
- sorry... had a cartoon reference here -
Thank you 😊
How old are all the sky kids in game?
Because surely none of them have been around for longer than a day if you don't count homespace as cannon
Nono... I’m just taking a break
- till the bloom event comes
- same for the new season...
- waiting for the TS
✌🏻
what’s that got to do with lore ?
idk
Betcha the veteran would be asked on how.the world works and be in a containment cell
I kinda had this thought for a while
I had this headcanon that every living being in Sky was born from the Light. The Light we flew to after Eden (AKA Orbit)
What if all life was born the the Light, but is also a part of it in some way as well? What if all life that is born from the Light is also an incarnation of the Light?
That's true that light is megabird
If you dont get what I mean, think about that philosphy "We are the universe that's trying to unferstand itself"
What if its the same in Sky?
All in habitants and living beings in Sky is pretty much an incarnation of the Light, and kind of the Light's way of also experiencing life itself or something like that?
It may not have been shown in sky ever but it was in concepts a lot
Yes that's also a theory, but one with much less evidence
Unrelated but why does the rain hurt us in forest, when water doesn’t (since we can swim)
It just made sense to me somehow though
We don't know if megabird has conciusness
Ahh i can link a doc that has some of the theories archived
Well, in the game, it's been shown that the Light literally calls our skid to it
but related to what you were saying (ok well a little bit) I think that skykids are made of 2 parts light and stone(?). Since when we die in eden we are split into 2 and are reborn when we merge together
Like "cmere, child.."
We have discussed that some theories are that the rain water is cold or polluted
And jellyfish clears water on the ground
Also, its probably why Sky was originally called "Light awaits"
that makes some sense, thankyou! Just wanted to know if there was a canon reason (I’m pretty new to this)
There are no canon reasons as far as i know
Point of sky lore is to make up our own interpretations!
Though, there is a backbone to the lore
on the lines of this, we give the statues in eden winged light, which I believe are the scattered light of those kids
There are theories about everything there
thankyou! I’ll look into it more when I get the chance
It's a good read very interesting theories
Idk i haven't checked it in a while
I haven't been here for a while, so...
Yeah!
Hmm... Sometime, I should try sharing stuff here more often
I've got a full headcanon timeline of the history of Sky, and a lot of it isn't close to the original concept timeline-
Well, has similarities, but has a lot of differences from it
Or maybe a comic?
Eh, but I'm too busy, I'll probably never finish it-
ok but what are krill
They’re organic, yes, but what canon stuff is said about them
I just don’t want my fun krill theories crushed again by canon
been thinking about them
my spirit theories are safe at least
This is the king... Right? But what is it?
Also this... A constellation, that doesn't exist.
That could be the king
Hi everyone, do we know why the “crown/halo” was never released? Cause i remember seeing it in some promotional materials ages ago
Any speculations on why?
its a bug, theyre assets from the prophecy murals, they look the same
we dont, but im assuming it was for technical reasons
TGC has also removed/changed elements that no longer fit in the storyline they decided to go with
yep
this is one of them, this is an old part of pre-launch thats no longer related to live game
same with the gold pot in Vault
What gold pot?
this one (not my picture)
#screenshots-and-videos message
I hope they will release it when they are ready if that’s the case
it might never come back, if you want it back then #wishlist-and-ideas-archived is your friend
Tbh i just want something after finishing all 6 constellations
Even if its just more elder cosmetics
But yeah I’ll post in wish list too
I have another theory, kinetic energy
Or is he?
I haven't even learn that in class

I'm safe

eden just has the castle, valley is the capital
Why is valley the capitol and not eden?
Ask the devs
I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I just want to hear your reasoning
But i have evedence to back up my claim
First of all,the stadium
Second of all, little darkness
So the rich go there
There is also more people
Understandable, however it could just be that valley was a major urban settlement that was high enough in the moutains that little darkness could reach it
It's possible
Like how New York is the most populous city in the United States but not the official capitol, you know?
also I feel like the massive castle in eden would be something that a Kingdom's capitol would have
Well Valley's whole motif was it's themes around competitions and sports!
Yes
So them having a stadium where the rich can watch people compete for entertainment seems like something a rich area like Valley would have
There is also dream skater girl dancing there
She does live literally right next to it, so it seems to make sense!
The dancing is the main focus, not the skater girl
She proves that dancing can be held there
Yeah, the stadium is a place for competition
And she live right next to it
So if she were going to compete she would probably end up doing it there
Idk I'm still convinced that valley is the capital
Well, how about I give you some evidence that eden is the capitol instead?
Alright so first off: the barracks on the way into eden
can anyone explain me the eden story and who is thin KING?
If you look inside, there is spears and shilds
It has a far more intricate design then any other of structures in the realms so far (besides vault) and is guarding the seemingly only passage into the area
After out debate
?
Fair enough
Because of this the barracks were likely a checkpoint where soliders would patrol for threats and ensure only non-hazardous civilians could move further along
Yes
Besides, there isn't much homes in eden
All is just military bases
- Religious/cultural significance
Eden is seemingly the only place where light creatures can enter orbit and is the final destination for the light creatures who had been traveling with you in their migration
It's also (based on the concept art) at the kingdom's center and is the eye of the storm
i dont understand what is going on here😕
I don't think so..
I don't think so as that doesn't really make much sense based on the evidence that we have so far, but it could be true!
I'm too lazy to explain
Eden and Valley both thrived at the same time period, Valley being the main residential area and Eden being the capital and the King's residence
Sorry! Me and red cape are having a bit of a debate at the moment.
@pseudo heart can you help me explain?
I agree
. That makes a lot of sense in my opinion!
Could work
Oh?? Explain what :O?
I think they're talking about this! @pseudo heart
Yes
Ooooh Eden's story..... Is uh kaboom
yes
Eden simply explained:
Eden went kaboom, king went kasploom, and society went suboom
who si king and what society?
What happened in Eden is still a bit of a mystery which the lore people are still trying to make sense of, though one of the most popular theory is that the Eden Diamond which is seen in Stormlock right now went kaboom
Oh and Storm went cachoom
The King is a character that somehow plays a very important and significant role in Sky right now though we still don't know what it is. Statues of the king can be seen throughout the maps especially GW
You see that diamond like-head in the buildings of GW? That's him
ok...
The king is a bit of a mysterious figure we know very little about. He doesn't feature in the game itself but like Ali just said has many statues dedicated to himself throughout the Golden wasteland!
Eden story:king or prince discover dark stone, get obsessed with dark stone, kisses big dark stone diamond and and it went boom
lol
thx
Though everything is up for interpretation, all we know of is that eden is in shambles and that there's a king and king cannot be saved anymore
He may have even supplanted the megabird (the giant star constellation at the end credits) in worship at one! However this is uncertain
So..
Where were we
I just realized that it was mentioned somewhere in the blog that Hermit Valley was one of the highest areas in the realm (???) Then that'd mean it's the same level as Citadel 👁️
Time to make a map
MakE MAP
What’s the highest place in Sky after the Eden Castle?
Vault of Knowledge?
Probably! It is inside a moutain after all
HEY GUYS GALS AND NON-BINARY PALS I JUST HAD AN IDEA
What if the Darkness Plant is an invasive species that's native to the Hidden Forrest and not the Golden wasteland?
BUT I BRING COOL AND POGGERS EVIDENCE
Introducing... (drumroll please) Dark Plant invasion theory!
The explanation for where the Dark Plant came from, how it spread to the other realms, and what type of plant it is to begin with!
Alright so the first part is identifying what type of plant Dark Plants actually are! Now the first time we see Darkness Plants in any major capacity is in the hidden forrest. Besides the tress, the only other types of vegetation around is the fungus (both the light and normal varieties seen below)
ii think the "normal" varieties are just dead ones
Why is the ceiling of the wasteland temple interior slanted? Is it because that chamber deeper in than the exterior building we see? I personally think the slant is meant to be the slope of the mountain, like this chamber is excavated from the mountain.
Yeah but they're also really solid which doesn't look like what the dead light fungus would behave like (as they're really translucent and you can float through them)
If you fly up to the skylights, they are rugged like natural rock, not bricks.
ok so your point is strega?
(also i cannot think of what dead light fungi look like)
Well, what if the Darkness Plants are actually just a Fungus like the other two varieties described? When you compare them side by side the Darkness Plants look pretty similar (besides being a bit more menacing)
Maybe dark shroom plants made it to GW with imported mantas from Forest. We know mantas get pretty close to them.
Aaaand I am gonna step away because this is reminding me of those mushrooms that take over ants
And (like fungus) the Dark Plants tend to be found in dirty water and dead bodies!
That was actually the point I was about to make! We know what the Darkness Plants looks like when it's flowering and (assummedly) releasing spores, so what if those spores were carried over to the various realms by the commodores (what I'm calling the people who piloted the flying boats carrying supplies) as they traveled?
After all, the only other area before the GW and Rainforest to have any type of Darkness plant around is the ending area of daylight prairie where we see commodores traveling to and from carrying supplies!
A relevant question then is why the shrooms weren't already there. Maybe mantas only got infected due to cages kept close to the ground?
If mantas are used to resting on clouds or really high in trees, they might not normally get infected. And if they did, they might not make it past Valley to replant anywhere else
My feeling about dark plants is that they symbolize that the cycle of light up to Orbit and back down again has been stagnant. Like algae grows on standing water, darkness plants grow on stagnant life-force.
That's a really good point actually! It would make sense that the mantas might spread the spores further because of the cages
My guess is that dark plants weren't common when the ancestors were alive.
It might represent that actually! After all the darkness plants seem to only grow upon the bodies of the dead, ruined structures, and polluted/dirty water
This is still a great perspective, that the darkness plants are a normal thing under these conditions.
I like this idea a lot
Now the darkness plants also seem to have trouble growing in the sunlight and seem to prefer darkness or cloud-cover (which from my limited knowledge is a common trait among fungus). This (plus the point Paul made) might be why they seem to be shriveled and small in the daylight prairie, while all encompassing in the GW!
Good morning
Does this imply that their size in the forest implies the occasional burst of sunligjt? Or are the light mushrooms enough to keep them limited?
Adding on to that, the reason they might not grow in the Valley is because of it's high altitude which means there's little shade for it to grow in and it's far to cold and dry to make it welcoming for the darkness plants (which is also a trait in fungus, as they tend to perfer humid and moist environments)
I think it's more a matter that there's an abundance of nutrients in the GW rather than light bursts in the Rainforest!
After all the place is a humid desert covered in a thick layer of clouds and littered with pools of extremely polluted water!
And if it's a warzone well...
that's a lot of dead bodies to grow on
that makes sense
(Sorry that this is late) good morning!
In an environment like that only a few spores would need to survive the trip into the GW through the Valley in order for them to spread like mad! It basically the perfect conditions for them to grow in with no competition or limiting factors that could stop their spread like in the Hidden forrest
WL Temple entrance, giant wall, mountain sloping upward, WL temple interior with 3 linear skylights.
Yeah, I agree! If the WL temple is supposed to be a stronghold that's defending Vault, then it would make sense that part of it would be carved into the mountain as then the only way to enter would be to go through it instead of over or around
Someone said wall
Also
Isn't that wasteland temple 👁️ 👄 👁️
That may prove that we travel in a fake vault
Did you ever find this picture?
The vault wasn't even whole in the concepts
The top was crystal and it was surrounded by cut trees
Actually, yeah! Thank you for reminding me 😄 credits to Nagati for the pic:
I am blown away
I miss that a lot
Tgc really tried to bring all concepts to life
It's exactly like the beautiful Tom Zhao concept art
what's the "activate an ancient engine" quest ? i havent heard of that
I think it was just activating one of the doors in the forest
It didn't really work most of the time 😄
ooooh
I found a video with this reach the highest peak in wasteland quest, but it was unrelated to that viewpoint. Too bad!
could you send the video ? im curious owo
It's amazing that there's so much detail, even the buildings. Was this all above the temple in the battlefield?
I think so, but I honestly don't remember
https://youtu.be/79MVlRmMBcM 4 minutes 41 seconds
There is a King statue in the corner of the image but the clouds are all different from what we have now
I don't recognize the terrain either
Do you think elder masks come off
isnt isles like broken off?
Ye but that's broken off not taken off
You can break off a lot of things that don't "come off"
fair
id assume they’d be able to since we see the masks can get damaged and they’d probably get them fixed while not attached to their face
I think it really can't be the temple, that castle with a broken middle is in orbit! And wasteland is quite the descend from there, so
For reference. This symbol is there everywhere in sky...
yeah i noticed it on the pipa instrument
I think the Elders have one
considerin that you can remove your own, i think so
but the masks must have some kind of power
agreed
isn't that texture on the lake leading to office?
Yes, and the one on the lake is from the left end of the concept art timeline. But it's also in this concept art of the base of the mountain
dammn
that concept art tho
that was supposed to be the base of the mountain before?
it really shows how vault wasn't part of the original plan at all
the concept art on office actually doesn't have vault there
I was looking for the thing but I lack concept fu
Ir was a cut tower with crystals off the top, very short and surrounded by cut trees
Not in the mountian like it is now
I'm no good at drawing especially on my phone but Vault is inside the mountain
But In that mountain concept art, we wouldn't be able to tell if they had Vault in mind or not, because you can't see Vault.
It sounds cool. I've never seen that one. There's relatively little Vault concept art. I feel they scrapped the whole Holy Land and City and Ark thing (old Night level concept) for Vault, so we have more City concept art than Vault
looks like graveyard to me, or the entrance to battlefield from graveyard
@sudden sleet Hi. Do you have any additional insight to share about this screenshot?
Ooh, double mod ping
Right, sorry, it's just part of the conversation
It's alright
I hope they can share more details from ye olden days
Haha, no worries. Frodo Mysterious Mountain Screenshot lives!
Admittedly not a whole lot. This was from the late beta version of the game, at some point around April-May of 2019, but I think it was removed at least a month or two before global release.
For a while in the beta, whenever you forged a candle the sky would turn dark, like it was nighttime. For a relatively short period they added extra effects like seeing extra stars or galaxies, or this kind of effect. It definitely had Orbit vibes at a couple points. This was the only place in the game this pattern appeared.
Thank you. I find it so interesting, because both the screenshot and the mountainside concept art have buildings above the carvings. I think these buildings would be a great addition to a future season.
Theory time: Elder twins are British.
They have Cricket paddles
Counter theory: the elder twins are the cricket paddles
They're called geoglyphs. Check out the Condor 😉
It’s been a while since I’ve popped in, how’s it goin lore chat?
idk
Good
I didnt read all of it, but going back to the masks thing, I think it’s important that the first elder we see’s “defect” is a broken mask. Each of them had a “defect”: broken mask, (can’t remember prairie’s), forging material, sport ball, spear/will, memory pod. I think everything that’s broken corresponds to how what their former purpose was is now gone—but has been reforged with the influx of skykids. I think that it’s important that the first thing broken we’re introduced to is the mask. In this essay I will
random observations
-The capes seem to be solar powered as they run and recharge on light
-If Skykids are light and therefore energy, how does energy wear cosmetics
-The Isle boats appear to have been inspired by Viking longboats
-Valley is an industrial and commercial hub and Wasteland probably was before it was corrupted
-we are just pests in krill gardens
Lmao the last one
- everything is dead and if it's not then it will die
I wonder how sky people work exactly
Like, we’re all basically little golems with candlelight hearts
Yet we can breathe, eat and such at times
Also we look so empty without all the outfits and such
Actually have we ever saw Sky-kids eat? Like in-game (not like
)
Dang I’ve never considered the lore aspect of that
But isn’t that drinking?
Lol
@wet talon please don't mention beta spoilers in the live channels, even spoiler tagged. you can talk about it in #beta-discussion for now or wait until it goes live
Btw I have sum questions
O sorry
Why do skykids wear masks????
And why do realms open/how do they open-
The age-old question: is the ‘mask’ their face, or is it a mask? Technically there is a ‘mask less’ mask so I’d assume skids choose to wear masks, as to why idk
