In the Forest, they mined Dark Stone- or thats probably what the Pouty Porter is holding, not sure about the other three spirits with the crystals-

Dark Stone absorbs light but that, its filed with light and shining, its not a flame source though-

I think the Kings actions attracted the attentions of the darkness, or drew it somehow. Let it find the sky kingdom. Maybe a mix of civil war until it was too late, darkness joined the battle too, after or before who knows they had fought among themselves.

The sun-symbol on the shields may represent the rebel’s alliance with the megabird and the more conservation-minded movements. The war could have began because king was taking a much more aggressive approach with juicing and constructing the diamond, throwing everything out of balance with the sparkle laser.

So, most on this specific chat are acquainted with the concept of each level representing a stage of life in the game:
•Isle is birth,
•Prairie is childhood,
•Forest is youth,
•Valley is adulthood,
•Wasteland is Elderly years,

Some may even have noticed that the costelation place in orbit is the womb of a mother before birth. But that is not the mind blowing part.

Just before the said area (womb) where you gain AC, is the part you travel towards the light, which is a common theme after death in most literature: "walk into the light", "walk towards the light"

But you know what else it is similar to?

DNA packets traveling towards an egg. (To keep the terms professional.) So essentially what TGC has done there, even if by an accident, is creating a beatiful analogy, that when you go towards the the light after death, you basically race towards the chance of rebirth.

The aspect that in that sequence many skids travel towards it, but you don't see any in the womb, favours it. The lights you save, vanish and go to the stars, whilst you get to be born.

Now you may ask, "what happens if multiple people are with you in the womb? Doesn't it break the logic?"

Lore doc says sky kids will not grow into elders/spirits. I do however, think that sky kids are the next version of elders/spirits. In a way, despite being different things they are the “descendants” and are to inherit the kingdom.

I think they’re made of earth, and animated by light. Also, I noticed that Skykids’ energy, when pulled out by polluted water (and maybe being in the vicinity of redstone), is shown as blue sparks/embers, instead of the red/yellow/white sparks seen when they flap.

I think the dark creatures’ origins - all of them - are implied by this quote from the devs:

“Where do the creatures come from in Sky?” “The creatures in Sky are connected to the light and born from the light (...) that’s their origin and where they come from (...) so you’ll actually see creatures emerging from the clouds and manifesting as the light sort of comes together. You can also think of it as almost like atoms or molecules, like as the light comes together new life is being born”

In this they’re talking arguably about light creatures. With the harvesting the ancestors did of light, I think the darkness proliferated, and allowed the dark creatures to be born of that darkness, like their counterparts do of light.

We see 4 different krill arise from the earth in Wasteland, which is the opposite of the butterflies we see generating from clouds.

Tl;dr : I think they’re born from darkness.

I think that’s a natural inclination, but the game’s intro quote makes it hard to proceed with that. The quote says the darkness came, and the light became finite (in so many words).

On the one hand you could say the story and game are then played from the point of view of light, and that darkness is alien, foreign, something invasive.

On the other, you could say that the darkness being able to come at all makes it just as natural as the light - it had to exist to come into contact with the light, which would make it at least as old as the light.

we don't see the elders Physically and why do we do meditations?

The most of the krill are in eden, and they sorta resemble the sound of the crystal. And they drop the black particles that you get when you die or well are close to becoming dead. And the light the red crystals make when they hit solid ground it turns bright red, like almost glowing. So this may sound a bit odd. But why are we focusing on gw when.. eden is the birthing grounds for krill, and they all mainly live there & live strangely close. But the vault seems like it’s the only thing stopping it But then again there’s the portals. They could’ve then wandered down to the valley during the war and then was used almost as a weapon without the krill knowing. Even tho they had no control, or did they. They also seem to hate anything and anyone with the remains or reminisce of light hence them killing the manta when you first enter gw. And we all know that they krill turn you almost stone but not exactly since you have more light. But there are some in pnr that weren’t so fortunate. So my theory is, they krill are just escaped crystal guardians from eden that were supposed to protect the crystal from the creatures of light, but they somehow escaped or were thrown leaving the crystal alone and possibly damaged which could explain the crack. And the rocks, and then they entered the valley during the war times and they were then used as weapons in the more run down place of valley now known as gw. So because of their past mindsets they are programmed to protect the crystal from the creatures of light, but since it’s so far away at least the ones that got far away. They are considered as “failed security”. And so of course they maybe are still trying to gain respect by continuing its job. And it sounds like a machine due to the years of damage and probably the storm!
