So I’ve been thinking more about if Golden Wasteland’s original name was Eden...

If it was, then maybe all of GW was originally like a nature preserve, and the industrialization we see is more of a sin than we thought, slowly encroaching on the holy land.

Vault could have been set up originally as a research tower for the holy land but King’s advances would have grown up around it and eventually kind of surrounded it, incorporating Vault into GW.

I meant lore-wise, not quite concept art wise. Eye of Eden just seems rather specific, like it’s talking about a very specific part of Eden. If all Eden is, is Eye of Eden, then why not just call it Eden?

Shores of Manna would make sense I suppose? The biblical references were that God provided for the Israelites by providing manna every morning at a particular stage in their wandering in the wilderness, and they should only take what they needed. Those that took more or tried to hoard it found that it had rotted in the night.

In my head, I could see king feeling a great amount of jealousy if another region outshone his own, and the Eden diamond being his response. An attempt to outdo Forest Elder, in a way. But it could also just be a fallacious sort of idle thought on my part.

I think it was @Ramunemarble#6494 that suggested the Forest Temple door suggests a simplified walkthrough for making a power diamond. Is that commonly agreed on?

The vases for the yellow-crystal (light energy?) aren’t the regular square containers we see, but rather top-heavy. It could be artistic license, but we haven’t seen any of the other top-heavy vases used for anything yet, and these are most commonly (exclusively?) found around Forest’s temple.

in order to perform a spell, you need to buy an item (in the context of the visual aids of the ark and home spell shop - scrolls, lanterns, or vials of potion)

you need an item imbued with that spell in order to do it
even the spirits do ! thats why they give us spells in their spirit trees - those are just part of their inventory, they had spells on them just as they had their hair, cape, instrument, mask, and/or pants

Don’t let the wall of text break chat’s discussion. Just wanted to get this down while I was thinking about it.

||So the only glyphs we really can translate are possibly the Skykid glyph and definitely the manta glyph (pic 1 and 2).

I think the skykid glyph means several different things, like as @a simple rock#8192 said, possibly community, etc. Could it also mean something to the effect of “light for all” or “the light expansive/infinite”? I say this because the diamond seems to be a symbol in common with both the kingdom and the Elders/Skykids, which is a bit odd.

We know from concept art that ▲ is intended to convey the ancestors’ groundedness, their focus and emphasis being on terrestrial matters and a sort of disconnection with the sky/celestial/megabirb.

Taking that into consideration, a ▼ would imply the opposite, something airy, celestial, etc. we find these around the Prairie docks (pic 3), certain vases, etc.

I suppose the ◆ invoked both, showing a unifying principle? Earth and sky, terrestrial and celestial, joined? It would make sense for them to be used on Skykids and Elders in that context since they were originally intended to continue the cycle of death and rebirth (Skykids pacifying spirits and gifting Winged Light back to their fallen predecessors, Isle of Dawn Elder being responsible for initiating the journey for new ancestors, directing the light (birbs, etc) back to the holy land, etc.)

The > symbols around the ◆ in the Skykid glyph could show emphasis for the light reaching outwards, while in Wasteland and Vault the symbol is altered to show emphasis going down (pic 4) (the Vault symbols shows the emphasis going down to what I think is a group, while the Wasteland symbol is a bit more greedy (I’ll have to fetch a pic later). )||
