Maybe the thing about sky is that when you start from the beginning, you get wings and candles and cosmetics. You carry the light within you. The sky Gods lost their light but you come go save them. The Pariere loved making things. And he wanted to make a butterfly ig so as we gave him the fire, he did a smol magic and made a butterfly which was found every where. And those butterflies gave the skykids light power. The forest elder was seen making a diamond stuffs but she can't do without the light. So we came give her the light to complete her diamond. The valley twins elder looked like they're are the overlookers of the race. They'll interfere if anything goes wrong during the race. And they sadly lost the light while playing with it. The Golden wasteland was once a beautiful kingdom. But I guess , once they found out that the lights were not found anymore, the whole area became wasted. The krills began to invade and the crabs, who were once peaceful, now became corrupted. The the wasteland elder looked like he had no power without the light, so we come give him the light and he goes full anime style portector. The Vault Elder loved making diamonds. Every diamonds served a purpose in the vault and the realm looked like it contained knowledge and also, it was refereed to due to its resemblance to tower level in Journey. And at the end, we see all the elder gathered in front of us and bow to us. Maybe grateful to us for taking up the challenge of Eye of Eden and sacrificing yourself for the sake of others who lost their light in the darkness.

I don't think the Whales and the last whale-like creature emerged from Sanctuary are related to mantas (as if they are older). The Whale & Whale-like share the "head shell". But Vault bones of Mantas (multi wings) seems very different from the Whale skeletons we see in Hidden Forest

Something I've been wondering about, although probably seems pretty obvious:
Were Spirits creatures of light before their deaths?
I remember the one cutscene where one of the Wasteland spirits hid from what I presumed was either a past krill or earthquake. But if it WAS a krill, and spirits, when they were alive, weren't also creatures of light, why would it be hunting her?
(I also have a theory that Megan sent down the skychildren to restore the kingdom, so it would just be kind of weird if she had created a new light-generating species instead of the one earlier just. Being powered by light too. So i'm not entirely sure.)

@thorn trout I think the spirits are just memories (in the timeline the game is set in) but when they were alive i think they would be similar to sky kids.

one thing i've been wondering is why some of the spirits have capes even though they don't / can't fly?

I don't know what triggered the first explosion of the diamond, but... What would happen if something triggered again? Because all I can see is Skykids standing up in futile hope, filling Eden and the other realms to the brim with thousands of young children, to try and combat it with one massive deep call, just so the story of the Sky kingdom doesn't repeat again.

Well obviously the diamond it's in its worst state now, so there is no worse, no other blow is possible. If it was in an acceptable state, there would be no Storm to kill us and Eden would be peaceful again and no evil would exist (although the evil can't be undone so all the Elders and spirits are still dead, the kingdom in ruins, but maybe dark crabs and krills would be powerless)
