Yeah the Sentries are I would say 100 percent experienced so they're used to that kind of danger
Yeah the difference is probably more falling uh gem anti-krill columns
True that. I can imagine that this experience came from the ♦️ shutting itself down on more than one occassion.
I know I'm not the only autistic person here but I always feel different
We can see it shut down twice in the movie. All other towers seems to be connected to it.
Since that thing is so big, I wouldn´t be surprised that it would at times shut itself down Chapter 2-style if the King did do ocassional light surges through it, as we see in Chapter 1.
According to my parents I'm mostly normal but I still feel different
- combine that with people being very different and in this situation from different places scary
Neurodivergency is umbrella, autism falls under that umbrella.
Autism is Spectre
also if Part 2 gives us UGs relating to the ruler, I would love stuff to carry into part 1 seasonal area where some people bow at you if you wear it
Aye. Only that this time in the movie, they weren´t ready for a veritable Krill army unlike what I can imagine is individual skirmishes they´d probably have before.
All chaos happened in the 3rd and 4th quest in the season and series version. I just feel bad for the citizens. Children were involved 😭
Spectrum yes. Umbrella is different thing.
Like before, they´d need to deal with either 1 or 2 Krills. But during the movie, we see at least 3 of them and they got annihilated while we do know that there´s more than 3 due to the game having a total of 7-8 Krills in GW.
We thrived as best we can in the Season whether we were orphaned or not. I feel like the people there see us as regular people. Not sure if they know we're no ordinary kids-- immortal ones or not
They indeed do see us as plain kids if you ask me ... except for seasonal spirits, they see us for who we really are even if they too are probably thinking we´re plain mortal kids as well. Headcanon tho!
The other krill could have entered anywhere between shattering and present day. We dont know if they are solo hunter or if they hunt in packs, on abyss murals we see them being led by Leviathan and on maps and in movie, they dont seem to be teritorial either. Them (and that does not apply on all of them either) seemingly respecting each other "circling route" is likely to prevent clipping rather than behavior thing.
considering it shutting off seems to be a normal thing as seen in episode 1, it is interesting in episode 2 is when they exactly know it is down for good. Though easily can be explained off screen everyone was told to go to GW temple
They could totally be seen to be told to go to the Temple indeed, as this is pretty much how warning systems are for, especially in case of wartime/air raids. Just swap the Temple with bunkers irl.
with the horns going off and soldiers coming out, obviously indicated people to go and retreat too
I like the red detail on the Two Embers Krill-- or darkness-- under the cape
Ooh! It's good with the Krill hair and the horns and tail!!!
Ohhhh
Is the girl we see in the memories of the recent quest the girl from aviary?
It looks like it. Did she help them all and go with them? If so that's sad
We don´t know.
Fair enough. But that's gonna be my theory now
Trust me, you´re not the first one with this and you won´t be the last. :)
Yeah lol :> dude this season was so sad
But they should do more of these in the future
Like giving lore to the areas
If you ask me, they´re not due to then needing an impossible chain of circumstances to be able to somehow go from GW Temple to where Aviary Village is under a very tight time limit nonetheless.
Since the ♦️ is close to Shattering by this point (imho) and Darkness as well as Krills are completely locking GW away.
Oh yeahhh
Tbh no one could unless there were other last cities or villages
They would need to be incredibly bloody sneaky to be able to avoid the influx of Darkness into the GW Temple without dying and then trek across all realms on their own without being spotted by any Dark Creatures on the way without sustenance or companions.
All this before The Shattering even.
..yeah actually that does make sense
So yeah, if you ask me, Dusk Ember isn´t Hopeful Steward by this point in time. We´ll have to see if TGC will even mention it in the first place, let alone confirm it.
💯 agreeing on this because let´s be honest, some areas are bound to give very interesting lore and the closest one is literally Battlefield´s neighbor. Graveyard.
FRRR
Like, what for the love of the King happened there? How did it used to look like? That´s definitely something I absolutely wouldn´t mind exploring. Same with Hidden Forest itself.
I’m pretty sure they’re the same (quest 5 spoilers) ||reliving dusk embers memories, they have the same hair as hopeful steward, no other spirit has that hair||
As for how they got to aviary, I have no clue
to be fair, what says she'd have to trek across all realms to get to aviary? it's a hub to all realms, so theoretically you could say there is a way to get to it from each realm as well. so maybe she had found a way there directly from the vault . I don't have a definitive opinion on dusk ember being the steward, but I wanna consider all angles if possible
The temple for sure already took some beating even before Shattering.
Yeah, I feel like it's unknown how Aviary Village was found. Maybe when the Corruption was taking over? Who knows for sure
Just wondering. It's been a while since I catching up with the lore of Sky or ground
Does all entity on aviary village is just a projection or illusion and those entity no longer exists or in a state of "alive" ? So it's essentially an empty dusty place? Because an alive entity doesn't have that transparent star like texture (including the hopeful steward), so the sky kid is just imagining stuff because it feels too empty on that aviary village?
We don’t know much about Spirits yet, and while plenty of people also believe that they are ‘just’ ghosts in that same way, we can’t actually be sure of what they are.
I personally see them as ‘real’ entities, made purely of Light, with their own initiative and will.
There has been recent brainstorms over an idea that they are “Projections”.
🕯️
I see them as projections of the memories of who they were. It’s shown we can sorta rewrite memories to be happier in the case of the final quest, so probably we are just constantly rewriting them.
I think the spirits are the souls of the people of the afterlife, who are kept alive through memories.
There's a possible gap between episodes 2 or 3 where the Stern Shepherd quest could've happened, imo
Maybe, except for the first one is already a spirit that exists in game. So that'll get confusing
No, if anything it reaffirmed it
yeah, they literally used stewies model for dusk ember in the last quest
I always thought that was part of the music
It's not really that hard imo:
Toymaker quest, Episode 1, Recluse quest, Episode 2, Shepherd Quest, Episode 3, Episode 4, Sentry quest
What if there was another part to Aviary? Such as, say, Orbit?
That's the most likely interpretation based on what we can see. The orbit scene with the two embers seems to be very important, so it's entirely possible that's used to show that Hopeful Steward ascended and was reborn in Aviary
Also, they have the same model
Only need to mind the state of Aviary Village we find at the very start, which is a place lost in time that doesn't have any of the current Aviary stuff ... and given how the Last City was implied to be the remaining safe area from Darkness, it's still possible that even that area was shrouded in it as well, thus still just as unlikely.
It's gonna be really hard to try find the village when Darkness is essentially everywhere and its populace is deceased.
(especially because unlike Island Home, we do know that at least one shard did hit it via Cellist memories)
That is a big WAFO; I did say that I don't believe this by this point in time. We'll have to see what does Part 2 show ... and if Hopeful Steward was reborn in Aviary, then how come we still find their trapped spirit in a husk, with an extinguished candle nonetheless?
I guess I just always interpreted the reaction of the steward when we let her into the aviary, to show that she's been there before and it was in a better state at the time. but I guess that's just perception. and if she is dusk ember, who's to say maybe she was there before even arriving at the the last city, and so she was never seeing it after the fall until we release her spirit
my impression during revival was that she was there with other ancestors or spirits of ancestors and it was like a safe haven. but if she is dusk ember then that changes things I think
It would be incredibly foolish of them to be reborn in Aviary only to be immediately turned into a husk due to its destroyed state if you ask me. And yes, I do know that ancestors might've allowed themselves to become husks out of despair, but would Hopeful Steward really be like that?
how would she be reborn if she's stuck in the husk
I thought the spirits can't reach orbit until we release them from the husk. that's why they finally ascend and thank us
Yea.
I think we're having a miscommunication but I'm still trying to figure out where it is exactly
It absolutely changes things alright and that was for @spiral vault :)
my bad I'm not thinking
forgive me lol
I can see them visiting Aviary before coming to the Last City tho, possibly with Toymaker even. Still doesn't answer why do we see their husk at the start of Aviary instead of the place where they most likely died if they're indeed Dusk Ember (GW Temple).
I was even thinking if they were there before the last city, it could possibly be their original home too. not just a place they visited. which would make more sense why the spirit ends up there instead of in the wasteland. I think the placement of spirits husks is a little confusing overall, there's not always a clear pattern to it as far as I know, so I think it's not always "last spot they were alive" anyway
but I'm not sure what it actually IS that determines where they're found so it's really hard to come up with an answer to why, and an answer to if dusk ember is the steward
honestly also. it's not confirmed if the dusk ember did die in the temple, not yet. the ending was very unclear about that. so I think it's still somewhat open ended until we get the next part
Yeah I realized that a bit later on in the day
Yea, thus WAFO until we actually see Part 2 because there's still a lot of things that just don't add up or are straight-up breaking the established things if we'd try to unite the 2 into a single person. As long as we don't know on how are husks formed and what determines their location, we'll not know if the 2 are one and the same.
And I do hope TGC does give us a definite answer as well; don't wish to see this community tear itself apart thanks to this base-breaking theory. 😭
As for the ending, in my case, it's very much definite they perished, but thanks to shared light, they got to save everyone and give them rest as well.
Which would answer why we actually don't release the spirits of the 4, but their memories instead in Quest 5: they're already at rest. Us, though ... 🥺
I feel like almost everything that tries to support a theory here is just "actually we don't know for sure"
which IS kind of the nature of the game lore I guess. but this specifically feels much more contradictory at the moment than most other stuff I've read thoughts on. it makes me think we definitely will get at least a little more info that makes it less self contradictory than it seems right now..I hope
ah welp
hmm
but i wonder for the chain of thought, if they are the souls of people of the afterlife
how did the skykid get their (the spirit from the aviary) hairs for instance the Hopeful Stewards?
did they somehow digging something? since we are going over their umm last place (if we see it through the latest season lore).
or maybe if we reframe it and rebuild with a more wholesome story/another lore it's like their gift from the afterlife that already have a good place?
We already got two seasons with “copies” of already existing spirits.
We as sky kids copy what we see ancestors do, that includes not only emotions and calls but also cosmetics and all cosmetics we wear are just copy of what we saw, made out of light.
We did not dig it out of anyones grave.
Well that's a good news, thank you
but if it we're a projection, why did the hopeful steward able to attract the skykid like there's gravity using that (idk the name) fireflower/firework that thingy.
then throw me up to the sky or something and also realizing what are they interacting. so it wasn't a projection? and the fireworks seems real, albeit it doesn't add any light energy to the wing (is it fake?)
Aurora does the same, it seems to be some sort of harmless light magic just for fun.
Im saying that cosmetics are “projections”, not spirits.
There is also light and Light. Just because something is glowing does not mean it contains motes that will recharge you.
Additionally there are many things that are clearly Motes, yet don’t recharge you / don’t Connect to you.
The way forward truly is through avoiding settling
🕯️
Days of Sunlight has given some interesting stuff for Vault of Knowledge
So did the last season quest, to be able to make physical stuff out of nothing (light? memories?)
Just this imagination of young Lamed observing stairs so she can recreate them later
Reminds me of trace on from Fate, you have to understand thing and its composition fully to be able to trace (recreate) it
I am the honk of my candle(?)
These vault people are very powerful
Days of Sunlight gave really interesting insights:
-
So the vault spirits are still around especially to housekeep records. Even beyond death they're still adding new informations. However, either they are "lazy" or too busy (it was more implied to be lazy though in the update log haha), they want sky kids to do the heavy load.
-
Those big cubes are basically computers where it would have multiple inputs (the lanterns) and project them all at once. Makes you wonder what projection the big cubes in that realm does
-
Plus, very cool inside look of the huge cube!
-
Cameras can literally import projections to the lantern, however it needs a 3D scan of the item before it could projected. Does that mean season of moments are a bunch of people trying to 3D model the landscape to be projected later on for survivors?
There are suprisingly a lot of random items powered up by darkstones, like treehouse hoops for example. Cameras are no surprise.
The open cube was amazing, I had to do a double-take for my brain to process that we actually got to look inside
Perhaps everything floating is darkstone powered? Boats, hoops, the bridges leading to forest temple. The other question is how they power it with no visible pipes unlike wasteland. Is that why they keep jars of butterflies?
I like to think that it's just pieces of the same chunk of dark stone that are connected. So when you power up one, that light also gets transferred to the other.
#1, they are clearly academics, and need undergrads to do the field work
I do enjoy how the moments camera always had a crystal on it, but it was easily overlooked as decoration, where it's actually lore relevant.
It makes me wonder how many other items have embellishments that are actually lore relevant?
What about the teeny crystal on our starter mask? Was that lightened dark crystal or just a third eye accessory?
Yeah, that's certainly something we've thought about, and why a lot of other masks don't have it, or have some other embellishments there, like the Belonging masks as an example
It seems like any spirit-related mask naturally don't have the third eye. That extra darkstone on forehead might be status symbol or maybe do something. The acolytes have the darkstone, and vault elder uses it to check out memories.
Compare the kids and adult masks versus us in the Land Far Past. They have triangles or even none, we have diamonds. Any speculations on what the teeny diamond does?
There are couple of spirits who have crystals in their masks.
Lemme get home and I can pull you a list
Yeap, hence naturally. Most specialized spirits would have one, but from a visual inspection in the land, commoners wouldn't have one
mmmmmm fuel to my theory that all collab areas are special spaces projected via vault’s technology
wow, the vault personnel today are lazy lol
The real vault is definitely destroyed. The vault of knowledge we have in game right now is in an entirely different plane of existence so it seems. The first floor is what was left of the Vault but the rooms lead to other pocket spaces that contain more lanterns (maybe all of what they could salvage back then)
The higher floors of the vault is probably a pocket space too
Also regarding about the Vault Spirits. I have a theory.
What if they're actually not spirits, but more like memories that was once stored inside a lantern? Overtime, these memories somehow gained self-awareness and they managed to manifest outside of their respective lanterns as projected images. It really takes that one quote literally "Their body is gone, but their memory lives on"
The reason they're all scattered around the realms now is because these "spirits" tend to search for the place that was tied to their memories. Once they find it, they just kinda linger around and chill
"Traveling Spirits" would then be the spirits that leave their place and travel to aviary to hang around with us Sky Kids and sell their marketable merchs
Dunno, maybe, especially when seeing that huge mural at Repository.
Those are very good observations! Didn't expect to see some lore bits relevant to what it is shown in two embers
I love the giant cube interior, looks comfy as a room ngl
📦: iirc you can see the vault elder shrine destroyed when flying up to orbit
📦: and uhm I feel like the crystal in our masks are what allows us to relive spirit memories
and maybe even what allows to see the spirits at all, but that might be a stretch
Fun fact: excluding Aurora in the colloseum and Ember Ember wasteland past, all collarstake place in vault!
Do you rule arti?
📦: well.. they're my deputy, so yeah I guess so
When life gives you... erm... ummm... yellow orbs? ... Make... uhhh... a drink.
I second tht
hi tom
Facts..
Y’know, we can absolutely start connecting Chromeskies’ “Trace Darkness” theory with little things like these fruits which have been introduced into the Lore by the Last City.
These fruits can be categorically different than orbs, bao, etc, but the one thing they all have in common is the darkness-affected outer layer of the food is only/mostly on the outer layer, resulting in an outer membrane, which aligns- in a way that makes me so excited- quite perfectly with our understandings of outer membranes on sentient Beings of Light.
🕯️
I have migraine, can you explain this to me like if Im 4?
Chromeskies has theory:
Light needs tiiiny bit of Darkness to take solid forms.
- Fruits in Sky have solid form with liquids inside
- Granny’s bao has solid outside but pure wax inside
- Many “poppers” that Ancestors eat seem to have consistent form all the way through; more like bread
That’s prolly not much better explained but I hope you feel better
🕯️
Banana peels are darkness I think
Oh wait darkness gives bananas extra peel
Any banana peel is darkness if you leave it out long enough.
Anything is darkness if you leave it out long enough
At least if it's edible
But the ancestors serve bread (first stall in marketplace) and dim sum (middle of marketplace), those are solid irl.
That’s true, but my research never considers IRL parallels as strong evidence to anything. We are handling lifeforms created from a magical pseudo-physical substance which falls from a giant glowing O R B in space.
That being said I should definitely take a closer look at both items you’re referencing. I’ll go make a list!
I think I was right about vault being able to project entire areas…
What if the entire vault is just a shared space? I mean the big floating gem is very similar
Wouldn’t surprise me
But yea, if vault can project a beach. Probably can project an entire starlight desert or more with enough of those cubes.
The first one is literally bread. You can even see bags of flour and yeast in that stall behind counter. Also bread shovel leaning on the oven and bowl with yeasted dough.
Second is served the same way irl dimsum is.
Aww now I want dim sum again
Also, food is “solid” IRL.
The idea Chrome’s concept presents is that without that trace Darkness/Material to solidify it, Light substance toes a strange line between being energy and physical material.
What I am proposing is that all living things, even plants, form from Light substance, and so from here the different forms these plants take may suggest different levels of this ‘trace Darkness’ that we can begin to Understand
🕯️
I noticed the peel shovel as well! It made me rethink on how Ancestors likely do not have resistance to higher temperatures, which is super interesting
🕯️
That’s the idea for sure!
what are substance toes
Daily reminder to hug your traumatized friends.
I swear they are getting tinier every day.
The phrase “toe the line” is what’s being used there after “Light substance”

Your Steward is recommended one hundred hugs a day.
I think they were reborn to help prepare Aviary for us, the skykids, and when the shattering finally came to them, they died.
i actually find the aviary realm to be really intriguing-- mostly because it has its own dedicated area, and that upon its lintel isn't inscribed an elder ensign, but a graphic of megabird itself
This might imply that aviary might have been a location ruled by megabird, which is confusing, because we also notice how corrupted it is when it was first discovered
I do have a theory that it was the realm initially meant for the Dawn ember, or the chosen of Megabird, to preside over, and his absence meant the slow overtaking of corruption
which means that the Dusk ember would be the replacement
You can tell alot about a person's current emotion just by observing their hand gesture.
For example: If a sky kid is holding a broken diamond shard after their pet manatee died, that most likely means they want to end you
If a sky kid is holding a leaf and staring blankly, that means the USB succesfully connected to the plant device and the kid is currently processing information. Interrupting the process might have consequences.
Speaking of Quest 5, more I think about it more I´m starting to be certain that Dusk Ember being used in place for us in these memories seem to be more intentional on Lamed´s part than we might imagine. Yes, one reason is because we didn´t exist back in those times, but another one could definitely be out of symbolic connection we have to Dusk Ember.
Hello I just realised that statues of big fish tail appeared in both sanctuary and treasure reef. Does that represent another culture besides those who believe in the mega bird and those who follow the king?
It does not have to be big fish tail, its more like generic 3D portrayal of light creature as we get the same thing happening on the shepherd staff which seems to be working only on manatees.
It could symbolise area with large numbers of light creatures present, which applies both on Sanctuary Islands and Tresure Reef (Reef more in past than present).
Based on observations, Treasure Reef and Sanctuary Islands seem to be somewhat close to each other as we could see Leviathan just behind the wind barrier on Sanctuary Islands during the Days of Nature this year.
king krill was just too shy to take part in the party
I did notice him during that event!! I was like "What the heck are you doing in Sanctuary?!"
Found some Sky concept art I’d never seen before!

You think Mellow Musician's cape could be closely related to the cape from Journey?
Idk why tho, they both have the same red colors but I think one red is a bit darker than the other, plus the gold outline on either capes kinda look similar but the gold outline on Mellow Musician's cape looks pretty different and it looks pretty worn out, maybe im overthinking it but i cant get over the fact they sorta look almost the same
I saw the similarity as well, perhaps it could be loosely referencing it!
Oooh probably
But the more I think about it
The more it would be a possibility Mellow Musician's cape was probably capes from ancestors of long ago before the Elders and the Sky people came, but maybe im just wanting to squeeze in Journey with Sky lore
I mean they did put in the Journey packs both the red and the anniversary one in Sky
Sky x Journey season collab, blast to the past????/j
fun little fact/detail about Mellow Musician: They got their cape from one of those hanging fabrics[?] from Village of Dreams and you can see the exact spot where they got their cape from as one of the red fabrics are missing in front of Harmony Hall's building
I’m sorry to dash your hopes, but that Spirit’s cape has actually been confirmed by a developer to just be a Valley banner torn from it’s flagpole
logs onto Sky to find the banner
Even if it takes me a whole day to find it
hey i like this bird mask thingy they had going on, it cools cool, i hope they bring this back...
is stewie dusk theory dead or
the orphan
Spirit names are just the titles, so it could be another title for Steward
Am I the only one who thinks Dusk and Stewie are completely separate characters
and dusk were the only alive, comparing to 4 two embers spirits...
Why he doing it tho
how did bro even tame those krills
I think they are just attracted to darkness, so switch the lights off, and krill will follow.
I'm not sure if the Ruler is actually "controlling" them, or even wanting them to attack now having seen the 4 chapters, otherwise they wouldn't have ordered light be extracted from creatures.
Why the Ruler didn't or couldn't use some light stored in the Eden crystal remains a bit of a mystery, unless that is also drained from projecting too much light constantly.
Maybe we were wrong on the shattering being pumped too full of light, but the opposite, it didn't have enough light and so split apart
I don't think so, "stubborn and strong willed", "had to be resourceful",
"guarded exterior", "caring warm heart"
They are just at a different point in their life, and a lot happened to them over the course of this season
"wise beyond their years"
Steward has literally been touched by Vault Elder, and forced to face and understand things beyond themselves
It does reflect what is happening throughout the series, so these descriptions fit all too well. The "Orphan" is simply a title to describe his state as seen in the movie.
If Aviary guide is titled the "Orphan", it wouldn't fit well with the season and Aviary
We also know other spirits who go by other titles too, Lightseeker Guide was once a Days of Bloom guide, the Belonging family and Gratitude had slightly different titles during Blue Bird and Radiance respectively.
Grandma has even been "Days of Feast guide" during Feast some years
Grandma may well have the most titles of all spirits we have seen so far
Oh yeah, Gratitude guide was also titled "Auspicious visitor" for several years Days of Fortune events
Yessss exactly! One spirit having a different title doesn't mean they're two or more different persons
Alas, more Dusk Ember and Hopeful Steward debates. I guess this is the channels's main topic now
I still think they should've at least call it Dusk Ember. Orphan is a bad name
Also, I think having Dusk Ember and Hopeful Steward be different would be really stupid, it would be like having OT Luke and Sequel Luke be different people
Why would it be a bad name? The Orphan fits them perfectly when you consider the movie. It showcases the huge losses they had to deal with. Calling them just Dusk Ember would erase this important aspect of their life
Erasing the trauma, the losses they had to go through and survive all alone as a Lone survivor of their only family wouldn't do their character justice, and as someone who had dealt with the similar loss, calling the orphan a bad name is disrespectful imo
The Orphan and the King
Batman and the King
Found this statue in graveyard. Is that bronze? Did the sky civilization use bronze/brass/copper along with gold and darkstone?
Looks like bronze! :O
The King is also orphan.
Hairy Orphan VS Bald Orphan.
BALD ORPHAN
absolutely not
remember in the final TTE1 season quest that dusk had hair similar to stewie? yea
Not simmilar but exactly the same.
so this may not be lore or whatever but I got to thinking about it.
arent the krill just Large Detritivores?
like... they aren't actually bad/evil
We see them actively hunt for light once they see their prey. Detritivores dont do that.
a flying squid paralarvae is a predatory detritivore
as well as some species of dung beetles
although rare, detritivores CAN be predators.
and most that start AS detritivores grow into predatory organisms near their adulthood
like most if not ALL Cephalopods!
my brain after two embers just goes "thanks krill, now we have real nature back"
Greetings, I'm trying to inquire about the lore because I'm so "moth" to it, knowing only the basics;
-whats the state of the sky cotl world as of now in the game?
-are the spirits we free alive or held back souls from passing to the next time/cycle of rebirth?
-are the petrified spirits we free a result of the Shattering? Like how the light was snuffed out of the ||manatees in Two Embers, but a very severe stage?||
-what happened to the elders that caused them to be sealed away?
-what is the aviary village, and is it a space like: resting nest for passing spirits?
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
😮 it'd be really cool now that they've made golden wastelands their home, to see a future were wastelands is just a new grassland.
as in TTW wastelands was still... a wasteland. drawing in detritivores from areas they could no longer feed in bc of the lack of natural light
Dusk Ember is Stewie without shoes
and additional hair spikie on top
Hello loremoth!
WORLD
There was big apocalypse called the Shattering that happened 500 years ago. Everyone known to us died and the world became one huge mess. Five hundred years later, Megabird (The Light/omnipotent entity) is slowly regaining power that was lost to all the light being send to the big diamond in Eden and the rebirth cycle is going back to how it used to be. Life is returning to the kingdom with us as entire new species made out of light, just like other light creatures (mantas, manatees, birds, ...). Elders were "prototype" of our species, as TGC said in 2019 livestream they come from same origin as us (the Megabird), however they were still grounded creatures unlike us who can fly.
SPIRITS
Spirits are dead, to our knowledge. Some debate they are just projected memories but they seem to have mind on their own, giving us task, travelling through realms etc. Just like souls without body. Lots of spirits got trapped in the kingdom after the Shattering. It is your task to find them, free them and shepherd them back to their Elders in the temple. We are still missing details on if and how Ancestors are able to enter the rebirth cycle just like light creatures as Ancestors seem to be closer (matter wise) to crabs than they are to us or birds. Elders fall closer to us than to crabs on that spectrum.
PETRIFICATION
The Shattering crystals spreading everywhere sucked all light from anything in close proximity to it on top of the big shockwave it sent when it shattered. As we seen in Two Ember, lack of light can lead to stones growing on the body both topically and from within. Extended exposure can lead to death. We are yet to see the extreme case of exposure to darkstones in process (aka see the Shattering in the moment) to see if it causes complete petrification at once or if the subject is dead before full petrification happens.
ELDERS IN THE VOID
Based on what we see in the last Shattering memory, Elders seemingly tried to stop the shattering but utterly failed. Unable to enter Orbit due to all the Light being directed to the diamond instead to the Megabird (as seen in seasonal map, no light beam is going up to the sky) and being in the closest proximity to this giant darkstone, they were send to place outside time and space, called void. You also meet them in this void when you encounter them for the first time (as said in TGC in 2019 livestream). They are not dead, just trapped there in the limbo. Once you return them their light, they are able to move to Orbit and even walk around realms as we seen in last quest of this season.
AVIARY VILLAGE
Aviary village was hidden refuge. For whom, we dont know, we dont even know who built on first place nor how big it used to be. There is still a lost of this place hidden in clouds, covered in darkness. As of now, it serves as main hub, new "main city" after Eden has fallen.
lemme get my glasses first
Thank you very much for the time you spent writing this. I appreciate it wholeheartedly; it put things into perspective, however, knowing now that elders are closer to crabs than us surprised me/gen

-do we have a clear image of what the megabirb looks like, or is it the long noodly doodly creatura we see in the before last floor in Vault of Knowledge?
-megabirb: creator/omnipotent entity. Crystal: artificially made storage of power for the light. It eventually caused THE apocalypse, and brought about the demise of the land due to greed and lust of power. Correct?
-FREEEEEE MY GIRL TETH, SHE DID NOTHING WRONG!!
/sarcastic
-is there an explanation to what each cutscene represents of the elder? (I caught a few hints of what they meant,, just making sure I didn't miss anything)
Ancestors are closer to crabs than to us, not Elders. On this spectrum, Elders lay closer to us than Ancestors.
Think of it as this:
Ancestors =/= Elders = Sky Kids
**Yes **we do have some images of the Megabird both from game, Light Awaits and concept art. Theres also vague shapes of the Megabird on the huge Forgotten Ark mural but Im busy with something offline and cant get that photo for you now. The long creature on fifth floor of Vault of Knowledge is spirit elder manta/whale. Each floor of Vault of Knowledge resembles one realm and they follow after each other, fifth floor being Golden Wasteland.
We are lacking some information about the Eden diamond. Some say it was mined as is, some that it is many smaller darkstones melted together to create big one but we dont even know if darkstone can be melted into liquid state. It was used to power up the kingdom and serve as beacon of light. There is no sun in Last city and once theres blackout, theres complete darkness and krill (normally repelled by the towers) can enter the city and hunt. There is information lacking what exactly caused the Shattering, popular theory is that the King pumped too much juice into it and it failed to contain it anymore.
About the Elder cutscenes, I have one document in works that I will later publish on my blog once finished. not sure when that will be as i now have four documents work in progress, currently completely rewriting the one about Dusk Ember and Hopeful Steward, fifth quest of this season mixed things up a bit.
Understood! Thank you ever so much again for your time and thorough answers, I now can have a proper conversation,, back and forth,, about the lore with my daughter
Once it is finished, please, do remember to bring it to my attention with a ping/a DM 🤍
I will post it to #promote-your-sky-content , just search my username in that channel
hi grey
I think once the two embers portable cinema iap is released, we potentially could get a good glimpse into the behind the scenes of the two embers in the creator commentary section, my friend who went to the theatres in Japan said that the section offered a plenty of lore supplements
hi Luca!
I wanna see more recordings of that new-ish Sky exhibition, there were some lore bits in there too from what I saw in videos, like Resh being able to make candles as well
And ofc this goofy concept art
(dont look on the name of that file)
Oh yeah the one in China
Bro is sitting like in a timeout
tummy ache survivor
Thats diabolical 😭
"Lamed, my tummy hurts :( "
"I told you to not eat that many rock candies."
"I never said they were candies?"
"What-"
darkstone mass consumer
I still can't believe this goofy lil star shaped, probably traumatized to oblivion smol fella caused an Armageddon
What a silly lil lady king is
I wish we got a front view of the ruler outside of concept
thats how I imagine his front view vibes to be
BAWHAHAHAHA, oh my gosh, I cackled so loud 😭
The thing is he totally would look like bald wet cat from a front view. I believe that sincerely and with my entire heart
THAT SCARED ME
Imagine Spray can image bc I'm not feeling like lore unrelated images rn
either of those
Went from a spraycan to a literal ruler
nah nah the ruler is a fridge
Been going through my folder to add some stuff to something Im working on and Lameds hand there is literally like "STOP! Stewie time."
Samsung smart fridge?
Indeed!
he is in cursive
I can be your cursive and I can be your BOLD
I still have a firm copius belief that the aviary village kid is the orphan from Two Embers
that little hand tapping 🥺
You can tell they are smiling under that mask by jist looking at their eyes
that's pretty bald of you
Haha!
I just found this and my heart is broken...
Is it true though?
It is actually two sky kids. You can find them as statues in PNR too. They are only winged lights with masks on and only PNR statues without darkness on (and also only with masks as well).
Popular theory is this is Dawn and Dusk Ember.
The deeper I go into the sky lore the harder for my heart to handle it. Especially in Eden. Wdym everyone accepted their demise and held onto eachother for a last moment of comfort before the coldness of darkness petrified them to one another???

Hey lorechat, have we seen any spirit physically helping us with physical (not memory projected) item anywhere else besides sentry helping us close the gap in door during fourth quest?
By physically helping I mean them holding the thing and applying trajectory force on it, not just levitating them with their mind like vault acolytes do.
Oh and elders dont count, Im asking about individuals without physical body.
I came here and i
Yes! There is a three part daily of lifting up benches with two of the Performance crew members: First daily has us helping physically lift up a bench with Frantic Stagehand, second daily you have both Frantic Stagehand and Mellow Musician physically lift up a bench, then third daily you lift up a bench with Mellow Musician
*It has been a long time since doing those dailies, so I cannot remember if the second daily had both spirits lift up the bench or if it the player helped lifting it up still after waking up Mellow Musician
ooo, I never got those dailies :0 when was the last time they happened?
nvm i just read second part of that message
can't say precisely but it was months ago, hopefully it'll come in rotation again
I'll try see if seasons event chat has an video of it somewhere
Anyway that means spirits can still hold physical stuff and be tangible if they decide to. Them hugging us and holding our hand is not a play pretend then. It wasnt clear enough from the manatee scene in chapter 4.
Thats enough info for me, thank you!
Ah, so that likely happened when I had long burnout
they also put stuff out for us, like today's daily with Anxious Angler putting out a fishing rod for us to fish with! 🎣
I didnt do my dailies yet, Im afking at archives bonfire rn
people: what do you do all this time in game?
me 3/4 time while in game:
just sitting on most random places, tabbed out from game
just finished season + watching. where did wasteland elder go 😭
If anyone wants to come with me I'm scared to go to Eden 😭
wrong chat
OKAY, got the clips showing this!
I was well off, it was exactly almost a year ago
1st daily we help Frantic Stagehand lift the bench: #screenshots-and-videos message [Clip from Atraites]
2nd daily Frantic Stagehand and Mellow Musician both lift the bench: #seasons-events-chat message [Clip from Christian]
3rd daily we help Mellow Musician lift the bench: #seasons-events-chat message [Clip from Christian]
What?
Best to ask in #looking-for-group-live if you're looking for someone to take you on a eden run
Thank you
Hm, maybe, but it’s just a single piece of evidence, and I still kinda wanna make sure I see how it actually goes visually. I was on this side of confidently asserting Spirits can physically interact with the world but my scientist friend who was debating me on it said I have virtually no empirical evidence; only subtle implications, particularly from Days Of events.
🕯️
The videos aren’t loading for me

Incredible work digging these up though!
I did a thing
Discord's video embeds are super bad at the moment, some videos don't work on my PC while works on other devices- same vice reversa
you should be able to find these with a YouTuber covering those dailies though!
Dont break my hc of Stewie grabbing my skid hands and showing them how to properly craft something after watching them struggle for a while
Nesting guide would for sure take Stew in as student (friendly remidner Nesting guide wishes to have a student they can teach the craft to) and Stew then going to teach skids how to do things because they are so talented, you can see them improving their toy craft a lot between chapter 1 and 2
I don’t want to break it- I really hope we can prove somehow that Spirits are Really There.
I need to win the War against my scientist friend
i dunno if it counts but they can take your hand
"Them hugging us and holding our hand is not a play pretend then. " #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Exactly! How could we drag them around and hug them if they couldn’t actually ‘touch’ us?
Theres this one tiny jellyfish that follows you around at granma (even underwater and gives you air), I feel like light creatures are drawn to us the same way they were drawn to Alef
Especially the Sanctuary islands manta flock might be like "oooo guys look at this weird manta!" and whole flock decides to investigate you by tailgating you when you fly near them
Funny thing, ages ago I had this idea that the elders had patterns on their clothes that related to their designated color light.
I actually forgot about that idea, until I looked at living Vault Elder…
what is that second photo angle lmao
she looks so disappointed
"Child, please respect the personal space."
Such a Toriel vibes ngl, even the colors fit.
I have a three pic panel that I like to post as a meme
/j
This is what I imagine Valley elders were doing instead of helping during chapter 4.
Lol
Something I caught by accident - you can actually see the toy tumbling away when the manatee flock rushes by.
Incredible loredump, thank u for sharing this with all the lore moffs
Maybe this is useful for that topic....I thought about the dailies where we retrieve and deliver objects to certain spirits (a book, a flower pot, a guitar, fish).
And we also have Scarred Sentry's help to push the big rock in one of the 2 Embers seasonal quests.
Those may also add to the interaction of spirits with objects in Sky's environment.
What is "Sapling"? why it looks like the same Materials as the "spirits"?
Yes but I was talking about spirits holding and applying force (aka moving) those objects, not us doing that.
I also said Sentry as example but he doesnt really count because he was alive when helping us push that boulder.
Ohhh.... Got it.
Sentry was mostly there as example of what I meant by spirits applying physics on objects rather than example of spirit applying physics on object.
sappling means a small tree, a young tree
Unless proven otherwise ( @narrow marsh ) those are just memories of trees that used to grow there in the past.
Though its spiritual appearance might also symbolise the world tree, Yrminsurl, some of the big trees from Days of Bloom have really deep, almost "Yrminsurl-like" roots if you chibi fall under them (I sadly dont have photo of hat but you can find it online pr just wait until march to do it yourself).
It is almost 2 am and I going to sleep so dont expect any more answers from me in upcoming hours. Good night.
Sleep well!
But the point is that when we hang those objects over to the Spirits, they hold those (usually very physical) objects in their hand, even as they ascend back up towards the Sky.
🕯️
Though, when they ascend like that, they turn back into a blue mote as they rise. Does the object somehow suddenly turn into Light too??
Oh wow I dont read, sorry for the ping
why do we as a sky kids have a brown clay mask initially as opposed to the faces of those in the past? is it just how we are?
Many Ancestors in game had the same brown mask! It helps to remember that the visuals we see in-game may not represent ‘the real picture’ and moreso of an idea. That principle accounts for both Ancestors and their Descendants (us).
Since we here often brainstorm over Ancestors and other Beings being made of a mix of Light substance and other materials, it’d be really cool if masks from different regions were formed from different soils and stones, leading to a different coloration.
Unfortunately that may not end up being the case, as the trailers showing snippets of TTE Part Two showed Isle Ancestors having the same grey stone masks.
🕯️
What I find interesting is the fact some ancestors have faces other than masks. Like the Proud Victor. Two white dots.
Our skykids have their eyes closed for some reason. Maybe most ancestors needed masks because their faces/eyes were also closed like skykids?
I think the two dots were meant to be the black masks.
Also most of the spirits with two white dots are maskless when you look at them in constellation.
I thought the black mask was supposed to mean maskless?
I also have ongoing theory that the maskless spirits (yes including Aurora ones) are not certain individuals but rather collected memory of "kind of individual" because all other seasonal spirits always have masks, lot of time unique looking ones and the seasons are about individuals, again excluding Aurora ones who were collective memories rather than story about individuals.
B yblack mask I mean this.
Oh I meant the Proud Victor's mask. That's interesting. Instead of a physical mask, it's like the mask IS the face.
By two white dots, I mean Proud Victor's face. Its just a bean with two white dots.
Cackling Cannoneer's mask is broken in half that has both eyes are seen open, even with the side where most of the mask is gone
So masks were probably ceremonial for ancestors rather than necessary. They did have open eyes.
the elder's mask accessory also gives our sky kid eyes too - though it looks cursed on some masks
but you can be maskless and put that one giving our sky kid eyes without wearing a mask
cannoneer 🙏 😩
Seasonal Maskless Spirits or all maskless spirits?
All maskless spirits. I mentioned seasons because they are great example of story about individuals and not collected memory of profession/hobby/kind of people.
How did cannoneer break their mask? From a battle between a ferocious dark dragon?
Nah, they slipped on a tidepool and smacked their face, then pretends it was a fight with a dark dragon to look cool
Fun little detail about the collab seasonal spirits, none of them wear masks
The true reason cannoneer is diving for darkstones is in attempt to find the broken off part of her mask, the fact she finds the darkstones during that is just coinkydink.
"So what makes you so motivated to dive into depths for those rocks?"
panic looking at the pile as none of the rocks is piece of mask shaped again "... Competition."
I've said it before, I'll say it again!! Two Embers had me see Sky and the spirits differently. I can't imagine what the corruption was like in the other Realms like what happened in the Last City in Wasteland
hi i started to see some supposedly elder for Eden in the internet can someone explain the lore of him/her
should I ping Neko for this
All ancestors don't have canon gender and it up to your interpretation but people call the ruler/the child (<-official names) The king - Resh or the prince - Alef (names from concept art)
If in short - Megabird/the light yeets a baby that is propheciesed (or how do you spell that) to complete 4 trials and get light from it and ascent to throne and rule and stuff
Alef loses his potential parental figure but does as prophecy says later
Then darkstone is discovered it's a battery using energy from the light of living beings
Development of civilization and stuff
Then they grab too many recourses
There's some light creature experiments somewhere somewhen and then krill are made
Everything is bad
Tte p1 is somewhere here probably
Sacrifice <- bc Resh is awesome
Then we exist and we're her but not her
Resh is also really connected to the lore in general because it's mostly about her but you can ask about more lore later if you're interested
Resh (Adult Name)
Alef (Child Name)
By Eden Elder, you may be referring to The King. They ruled over the Kingdom of Sky (All 7 realms). Albeit, their Castle was in Eden.
The King's Story begins with a prophecy from the four prophets found in the cave of prophecy. They prophesy that a child will overcome four trials and lead the kingdom into greatness. [Speculation: I'm pretty sure in a mural we're shown many dead children/children who didn't make it through the trials. Can't find an image for it tho]
After a while (might be months, might be years), a "star" fell from the sky, as seen in Ushering Stargazer's memory. Ushering Stargazer finds the newly landed Alef. We assume the parental figure shown in the snippets of pt 2 is Ushering Stargazer due to the very same high ponytail hairstyle. Anyway, Ushering Stargazer succumbs to the darkstone infection and passes away, leaving Alef destitute.
Alef is brought to the Cave of Prophecies to overcome the trials. Daleth becomes their new parental figure/mentor (Tony Stark to Peter Parker Relationship). Alef overcomes the trials and is crowned King.
King Resh goes on to implement many new innovations and darkstone technologies. The kingdom flourishes in an Age of Glory. At first they used Butterflies to power their darkstone machinery. We see many pots filled to the brim with butterflies in the Priarie Temple and we see the Exhausted Dockworker ready pots of butterflies. I'm not getting into how exactly darkstone works here but basically, it absorbs light from light creatures. So yeah, at first they used butteflies. Then larger creatures like Mantas. They began to research and experiment on mantas and their eggs. This led to the creation of the Leviathan (King Krill) and lots of baby krill (found during days of nature). Blah blah blah, everything delves into chaos. Light extraction and darkstone refinement cause pollution (dark water). We then reach the state shown in TTE PT1.
I ran out of letters :(
#lore-discussion-spoilers message Here's my interpretations of eden elder/the ruler/the king resh
i didn't expect the whole parchment scroll of lore thanks guys for this :D
It's 3 scrolls tbh
so i understand Resh came down to give power for some machinery so then what happened to Resh later
The Shattering occured. Resh had created a giant diamon in the eye of eden (the one you see in PNR).
The diamond feeds off of energy from the soul cycle. Mt. Eden (the mountain on top of which the diamond was built) was a sacred place where souls ascended. The diamon- THE EDEN ELDER EXPERT IS HERE. No need for me to explain anymore.
Machinery wasn't really planned probably.. Alef was sent to pass the trials and rule that's all we know
boss music rapidly approaching
so it just transformed into diamond they made for what waking up in the right time?
No. The diamond exploded. Resh sacrificed or smth locking him in some sort of stasis. The elders also got stuck in some sort of stasis. You should ask Nekovo.
Resh just built a huge rock that probably was vacuuming light from the cycle of rebirth itself
Then Tte then explosion+sacrifice
Everyone is dead and we exist 500 yrs later
Text wall incoming. Take cover everybody
I love wall
Anyway crashcourse tldr highly compressed explanation on who is resh aka the eden elder.
NOTE: RESH AND ALEF ARE FANON NAMES BASED ON CONCEPT ART. Resh refers to them as the Eden Elder, Alef refers to them as a child.
Okay so. Eden Elder.
Initially born as Dawn Ember (who is born from the sky like your typical skykid), adopted by Ushering Stargazer (who is sick) and another spirit.
Gets sent to Cave of Prophecies to complete the trials. They compleye them as per the prophecy and ascends to becoming the Eden Elder.
Next part is where things get a little blurry and is based on artbook information.
Eden Elder gets mentored by Isle Elder but outgrow their teachings. Also their propaganda gets spread by the Valley Elders and theie regime is protectrd by the Wasteland Elder.
Eden Elder also worked with Forest Elder to harness the power of light and may have made the diamonds.
Eden Elder spreads usage of diamonds across kingdom and constructs the Eden Diamond as a final act of hubris to harness light from the light cycle of light creatures back to Orbit.
Usage of diamonds caused a bad feedback loop.
Diamonds absorb light for power -> darkness spreads from lack of light -> diamonds repel darkness -> diamonds run out of power -> diamonds absorb light for power -> repeat.
Pollution from diamond manufacture causes wasteland to become more and more inhabitable.
Then the events of TTE part 1 happens.
As for the final fate of the Eden Elder, well they're no longer able to be saved and are dead. According to the art gallery in skyfest, they sacrified their light to birth the skykids. Likely interacted with Dusk Ember in the void.
Also every elder died at the shattering rip.
I'll have to update my resh doc sometime it's outdated now 💔
Wha? Elders aren't dead like spirits, right? They're still tangible, and lack the spirit sparkle and outline. We also saw an elder outside of cutscenes. The Vault Elder during the final TTE quests.
Resh is dead tho
Resh is dead. Resh is deader than me.
And I'm dead⁵
Resh is so dead that his dead is dead and dead's dead is dead and that dead's dead is dead and that dead's dead is dead and that dead's dead is dead and that dead's dead is dead
And that's just a fraction of how dead resh is
Honestly i have zero clue what's up with that despite the elder shattering memory being a thing and the dang stupid discrepancy between the two embers part 1 show and the events of the seasonal quests 😭 😭 😭 😭

im going to lose it bro 😭 😭
I do hope we get more context between the quests and show, because everything gets really messed up fast if you try connect them - First 2 quests are a quick nice fit in, then quest 3 is when everything becomes messy connection wise hahaha
Theres this one thing that doesnt fit. Everything else can be accounted for.
The honking manatee.
so i read it all correct me if i'm wrong
-Resh came down from something like light being
-did all the trials and become the king ( also king of what exactly?)
-while they ruled tried to harness light power
-Darkness arise krill and creatures come
-The wasteland city destroyed etc.
-he sacrificed himself for to light children to reborn
one of the plausible explanation we are a different kid in those quests, considering us, the player, bonding with a completely different manatee
King of the Sky Kingdom. All 7 realms
at least in both versions, both manatees already died in the end because everyone died 😭
- sacrificed himself for us to be born bc we didn't exist before
But the last quest shows hopeful steward doing everything we did.
that's what completely messed everything happening for a lot of people trying to connect everything together
From "The Light". The huge sun like thingy you get to in Orbit. In concept art, it was a bird (The Megabird, nicknamed Megan)
MEGAN YES ACCEPT THAT NICKNAME!!
Tbh if the quests followed exactly as the movie, then there wouldn't be any reason to feature sentry in quest 4 as prominently, as while their movie appearance was just for few minutes. The quests feature the individual spirits as their main focuses so maybe they could explain the discrepancy from the designer standpoint
THE ALMIGHTY MEGABIRD, PERSONIFICATION OF ALL LIGHT sounds more cooler imo
a lot of people followed on us being a different child in the quests, but then seeing hopeful steward's hair really messed with a lot of people trying to figure out how on earth everything connects. We know everything what Dusk did from episode 3 to 4 and realistically cannot fit in quest 3 into Dusk Ember's story because we saw what they did from outside GW tembple to inside GW temple to Vault
Megan is better especially if you pronounce e as EE
Migabirb.
I see no fault here.
Megan.
THE ALMIGHTY MEGABIRD, PERSONIFICATION OF LIGHT AND ALL THATS EXISTS
Write an at least 100 words ver
canon wise, it really doesn't make sense because it messes up where the time events took place

but I do like the idea of people theorising that the memories are what Dusk Ember wanted to do like being able sneak an manatee into GW temple
THE ALL KNOWING, ALL POWERFUL, EVER PRESENT, MEGABIRD — PRIMORDIAL PERSONIFICATION OF THE VERY CONCEPT OF LIFE AND LIGHT — WHO CREATED SKYKIDS, LIGHT CREATURES, ANCESTORS AND MORE, AND THE ONE WHO DETERMINES FATE AND CONTROLS DESTINY
(How many words is this? Oh. Only 36.)
so anymore lore on how some dark creatures born i remember seeing huge monster locked up in treasure reef or something did they tried to contain them while they are more sparse
Perhaps skykids, being a possibly descendant / reincarnation of Dusk Ember, what we do was what they had envisioned and subconsciously made it a reality through our actions
I thought we were a reincarnation of Dawn Ember. Since dusk ember becomes the WL we see after we die in Eden.
Yeah abyss murals
They probably expiremented on light creature eggs or something bc we see a mural of shrimp hatching iirc
Luca thinks it's bc they wanted to create more light creatures bc they were going extinct
Gonna say, I'm glad that the discrepancy made sentry's focused quest possible. Without it, I wouldn't had felt bad for them and understand them deeper 😭
Sorta
We're him but not him as I said before
When we die in eden, and after we hugged, what happened next?
We get flashbanged.
could be a possibility
honestly anything to explain the differences to soothe those thinking deeply into
From everything we seen in show wise, we know Dusk Ember never bonded with any other manatee [including never seeing it appear when they return to the temple] and I can imagine it like TLP situation with the fox where Dusk's manatee is all in the world special to them so hard to think they would bond with another straight away - I'm thinking too much into hahaha
Nope, what I mean is that, skykids are a harmony between light and dark, represented by each of the Embers. So we could say that we're either reincarnation of Dawn or Dusk embers
Your light jumps out from your body husk and we ascend
Maybe 😭 or just Dusk wanting to revisit the past without causing ya know a paradox, by choosing a different manatee
it makes sense for the memories to be altered differently though, since technically the memories/vault thing we put up are not in that same spot Dusk Ember's was
That's true
or in a technical standpoint, it would make revisiting the past easier. Rather than us being forced to climb up to the summit to get the same spot Dusk put the lantern in
been a long time since I read the art book, but I reacall the ruler sacrificed themself bringing in a new generation of sky kids, so yea all sky kids are technically the ruler/dawn ember - this is very old concepts so we'll see if that changes in part 2
Scarred Sentry deserves all the hugs
Yeaah the concepts could supplement but what remains is what the "official " story in Part 2 is like
Gotta wait patiently
yeee, hence why I like the idea of if Dusk Ember took a different path and did the things they wanted to do
Yesss creating a different timeline because the main timeline was kind of, written in fate and he can't change that
yess, I try my hardest not to 100% stand on what the art book says since a lot of it was 6+ years ago in old concept of things long changed since then offical wise. So I rather take in the new stuff part 2 will tell - if it tackles shattering
Hey one more thing i saw somebody do like Resh art and it was very big like giant what gives them that height like isn't Resh needs to be like sky children if they came down
So sweet Dusk Ember thought of a timeline where they got killed in GW temple with everyone else instead of the other timeline making a brief safe heaven in aviary village, jkjk
joke theory, the timeline before Avairy village/Season of Revival was the timeline we played in the game, but the universe changed timeline somehow into the one for the two embers show ahahhaah
also now if we rebirth going to Eden and come back what makes it do lore wise
loooooore pls come at meee
Im reading this message out of context and my first thought was "damn skids are fanfic writers"
They propably based their fanart on the concept arts where Resh was indeed huge, he was meant to be "final boss" of the game all the way back when Sky was taking its first development steps.
However he doesnt seem to be much taller than Vault Elder in the movie as seen on this perspective comparison by krillvern (last picture).
And Vault elder isnt really that tall to begin with and her new moder from quest 5 is even shorter than that.
Here is height comparison of both in game and in movie elders, Steward and chibi mask skid by Ash: #lore-discussion-spoilers message and with new Vault elder model #lore-discussion-spoilers message then here is the inches conversion of same chart by Tristan #lore-discussion-spoilers message and here is the original by amaradiantlight #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Thanks a lot i was able to see all updates you guys have come up with
Stewie: ehe.
I was wondering, if the people of all realms had to have one sign to show others what realm they came from, what do you think that would be ?
I was thinking the butterfly charmers emote or
for Prairie people, maybe faking to hold an umbrella for the Forest people,
for Valley people and the pray emote for the Vault people, but I'm not sure for the rest
Hmm thts thought provoking
Praire emote counterpoint
it requires a level of control over Light that ordinary Ancestors did not posess
In all fairness, I don’t think the Elder’s Lantern was the same one that Stewie held.
Additionally, the Elder’s Lantern somehow holds the entirety of the story of The Two Embers. (Or maybe only the first part.)
It seems much more complicated than most memory lanterns there.
The interaction we have in the final quest is not a direct tracing of the (parable of the) past, but fully within the present.
🕯️
Ooh, I’ve never heard this take!! This works quite well!
So here’s the gist.
In the beginning, this special living substance called Light took the forms of living beings and traveled the world before returning to the Sky from the very top of Eden, where they would be reborn!

Humanoid beings of Light, who we call "the Ancestors", watched over this Light and shepherded the creatures of Light on their way to Eden.

But the Ruler
of the Ancestors realized they could steal the power of the Light for themself, and so they captured creatures and stole their Light using the giant red diamond you see at the end of the Eye of Eden. ♦️
Some of the kingdom didn't like this, and they rebelled. There was an entire war between the rebels and the Ruler's kingdom, and in the end, the red diamond overfilled with Light and Shattered, sending dangerous debris across the kingdom, spreading Darkness everywhere.

500 years after all of the Ancestors had died out, a new type of Being formed from The Light in the Sky, called a Descendant, which you know as skykids! Our purpose is to save the trapped Souls of the Ancestor Spirits, so that their inner Light can be freed and rejoin that Light in the Sky.

Hope this helps!
🕯️
vault elder lantern is just Lameds the sims savefile
While the images are just concepts, the words are TGC’s words Now; post-TTE production.
I treat them as the closest thing we have to a bible.
That being said, what we do need to be careful about is not leaping towards our own interpretations with certainty. Casual paraphrasing can lead to a lot of confusion
🕯️
now then elders and other spirits, what are their part are we just seeing their ghosts now ? since after the shattering?
We’re not sure yet! There’s a lot of crazy theories actively in the works by various theorists- one being that there’s a correlation between projected memories in the Vault and Spirits as Projections!

projected memories dont have starry effect and are wobbly just like spirits before you relive them for the first tine
So dusty... The amount of 500 years old dust layers falling down on your skid after activation...
Teth wouldnt pass OSHA just for putting the switch directly under dangerous hydraulic press. Also no railings on the moving platforms and dont make me start about all the water leakage.
Oh also pest infestation.
Oh, thats new.
True
Maybe then only the motion of calling the butterflies
What do you think would be an emote for Isle and Wasteland people ? I really have no idea
most of the emotes from GW seem to be from either after the Shattering or during The Last City days
that would've not been representative of it from the earlier days soooo
maybe the salute since it seemed to be the most militarized zone
Interesting… almost as if Spirits could be… an advanced projection then

The dye colors

~~Also I’m saved by it automatically setting it to “don’t ping”
~~
you can set it to automatic ping off???
Just two wasteland spirits greeting each other with lvl 4 frightened emote
No, it just randomly changes to off when I set the message to reply mode; idk why it isn’t like that every time 💔
went to the battlefiekd to compare it to the last city and noticed that edens mountain(?) was walled off? is this a game design choice by the devs from development when the first made wasteland or like is it intentional?
Wasn't Mt.Eden always walled off?
Oh yeah that. That's supposed to be the mountain itself. Wasteland Temple is directly in front of Mt.Eden
i never really thought about it honestly, i just knew that eden was visible from pretty much everywhere but seems like i was wrong and didnt actually take in wasteland (even after like 6 years of playing lol)
By walled off, I meant the fortifications you can see when you OOB to the top.
Eden is visible from everywhere except Isle. GW temple sits at its base.
We get to Vault which is inside Mt.Eden.
Vault acts as an elevator for us and lets us get to the top of Eden and begin our ascents.
figured that out 😭 im assuming if the wall is intentional then maybe it was like some sort of barrier or something, i havent been super interested in lore up until now with two embers
Maybe protection against krills and darkcreatures?
thats so weird
Heyhey, just letting you know that this is indeed future content that slipped to live and we shouldnt be seeing this at all so better delete it. Mods been deleting screenshots from it in screenshots channel as well.
Yes that is design choice to make the place look darker than it is. Shipwreck has simmilar thing going on but much further away.
Newer places, like aviary during pool party when you are inside a building, use dome that darkens the entire area and puts water overlay on it.
Finally, I'm free! I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm-
not free. Just under new management
@spice musk hey jen! just to let you know, while it's accessible, this content isn't meant to be in the live version yet. so i went ahead and removed the post. thank you

Hello guys I came back after being dead for a while (college
)
Hows the discussion going
While I can’t speak for what’s been predominantly happening in the chat, the most recent big juicy topic is still that same “Spirits as Projections” idea

And speaking of…
Though that’s a suitable answer to give to loremoffs, I will say that for the sake of our research it could be reductive to call them “just memories”. I still personally believe that Spirits are made of pure Light substance, which is still a material with physical characteristics. So it would make sense to me for those plants to be the same. This is, of course, operating within the built canopy of a vast amount of assumptions. I should work my way backwards to justify this broad stance
🕯️
Oh yeah this topic again lol
Apart from the very real possibility that darkstone can essentially “trap” memories and project what seems to be light into depicting memories (seen in lanterns and how we skykids relive memories), there are certain political implications when it comes to yk…
… recording and having memories conserved without permission, maybe
Oh wow
I was just focused on the worldbuilding mechanics themselves, but I’m sure that has to have some potential for an angsty fanfic
The last part is what I theorized Stew will be in that scene with Lamed before TTE came out because it looked like she was watching them whole time and then showing everything she recorded to them (not gonna search that message but it is somewhere in this channel).
My friend
We have the abhorrent stuff in two embers for a reason
On Darkstone projecting “what seems to be Light”, it’s important to remember that Light substance always had the ability and capacity to contain and store memories. “Light” is just TGC’s nickname after all, for the soul motes that make up the strange life-giving substance.
And souls, thematically, are the memories and Experiences of individuals, that last even after the mortal body of somebody dies
🕯️
Too early for me to process higher astral stuff
Yes i do remember your message on that though only the vague idea
You could very well be right
Also she could just view their select memory of dragging brian under the rubble after it got damaged (and killed) by the harvester machine
Or she could just be viewing most recent traumatic event in someones life by her headpiece
She looked into their memory before choosing them to follow her to vault to record their memories. We seen it directly in chapter 4.
I think it’s especially haunting that after ascending the manatee, Stewie somehow now understood the Elder’s plan, and gave in to it. If the ideas that the plan really is to turn everyone into Spirits ends up being true, this sudden change of heart; this sudden dropping of the knife… is all the more haunting to me

Im… too sleepy to process what you are saying so I will just nod.
Also isnt like 2 or 3 am for you Tom now, go to sleep
Like i said a few times up earlier in the chat
She knew everyone would die
She knew nobody would survive
In my opinion, divine forces gave her visions of the future
Okay why did i say “she knew everyone would die and nobody would survive” in two different lines thats redundant ☹️ its almost midnight here i am losing brain
But thats why she was “complicit” against the violence shown in chapter 3
Its not that she doesnt care, she quite literally cannot do anything about it, so she just went with whatever Resh decided
Resh himself also hated the whole catastrophe too
Ok im gonna sleep now SO I CAN WAKE UP AND PLAY SILKSONG cus i have class in the morning
Have fun with any other discussions
now I cant unsee Hornet in little bumblebee costume
Have ppl been dying outfits even back then
?
Could
Or it's dirt
They probably did have dyes back then. But that just seems like dirt and worn.
Hmmm, but only on the shirt?
You just can't see the dirt on pants trust me
Also og version of these pants doesn't really fit last city style
It could be black fabric as well
I mean dark green but wtv
Maybe.
I noticed not all past items appear there, for example, not even one radiance item.
I wonder what happened to all those items and spirits
Not much materials for those to be recreated
Spirits and others who could wear em probs dead
Or maybe it's because most of them are reused spirits?
Or just closer to the castle 😛
No these are reused assets of specific hairstyles and clothes that fit them
Because they are
✨🌟Poor🌟✨
Yeah, the king probably took everything, cuz greediness
Or they just ran outta material bc there's not much habitable territory left
Ain't to way that dishwasher has any clothes besides copies of his everyday outfit
Probably.
I noticed that the ppl in the last city doesn't seem to care about the fact all other cities probably went rip
Locked in on surviving
And it held them this long 😭
How it happened
Darkness and shrimp and illness
Shrimp can cause illness, and thts a dark thing to happen
Shrimp usually just kill em
While the illness kill someone slowly.
Krill- one hit and that's it
Illness- die slowly, in miserable pain
There is dye shop in marketplace. Though it is likely just dirty.
Also doubt they were dyeing with light. As I presented here before, all of the clothes people in last city wear and the clothes hanging out to dry are all in shades you can get by dyeing fabrics with various plants and food.
I was wondering, can a krill be killed? you see many soldiers with spears and shields and I bet if they would be able to
To our knowledge? No.
There have been some concept arts of “dead” dark matter but krill already existed in Light Awaits during the same time as this dark matter (that later became darkness plants) was in game. It moved like krill but you could burn it like darkness plants.
Another concept art shows creature dying and something looking like dark creature (not exactly krill, something looking more like that dark matter) emerging from it.
In Seed of Hope's memory you see a smaller krill be killed by a spear from one of the soldiers, so yes they can be killed
From what I get is that smaller/younger krills are easier to kill, while larger/fully grown krills are really hard to kill - when a big krill enters the scene during the memory, those two soldiers are struggling/unable to to take down the larger krill
What is the reason for candles being used as currency?
Theyre sacred
small correction, it was a sword not a spear
got this from the video in the wiki
Krills become flat when dead, noted/j
In lore, candles were not currency but ceremonial item.
mmm shrimp soup…~
Sooooooo, what are the hearts? (Genuine question)
Both candles you collect and the hearts are just ingame mechanics/currency with nothing really deeper to lore. You can think of the hearts as rewards for you being liked by someone sort of.
Noted
Candles have more to it, they were probably used as an important resource in the early days of the sky world (see pointing candlemaker) before the sky people started ignoring the light
Sorry that the dusk ember document it taking so long, we are having lot of weather changes past two weeks (i went out this morning in summery outfit and now it is raining and getting cold again) and my blood pressure is going 📈📉📉📈📈📉📈📉📈📉📈📉📉
So sleepy since it started raining again…
And now it is sunny again what the heck make up your mind already I need to write lore
Random, or perhaps too wild of a theory/question about Sky.
Since we know that Skykids are able to loop back/revived/come back alive after going to eden or when you ran out of light endlessly, we know that there's the concept start and end on Sky Cotl world, and we know that Sky CoTL world from the orbit is like earth properties which there possibility there's the start and end. What happened on the end of the world of Sky CoTL? does Sky become Space game? Flying amongst the stars or searching for a new planet to populate going through flying island through the stars and nebula?
Nice question!
Candles and hearts as we know them, are representative of Light essence that we’ve absorbed and collected.
In fact, in the Lore, both currencies are not canonically called “candles” or “hearts” but rather gifts.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
They are representative of the Light we share with fellow skykids, and with the Spirits.
Hope this helps!
🕯️
@narrow marsh can you DM me artbook pages about memory lanterns?
wanna give it a read before finishing that part of the thing
Take your time, it doesnt have to be asap if you are busy
oh shoot id like to see that too
whenever you can tom
Me too!
Not lore
Darkstone Poisoning.
They're gonna grow up to become krills in the ocean.
Also this should be in #sky-memes
I told ya
What does this have to do with lore or Sky at all?
It doesn't
Its a meme
Why is it here then
Idk. Maybe OP misclicked?
Likely not when they did not deleted it despite reacting after sending it.
Heyo! I figured it'd happen, I was super excited and wanted to share but I do genuinely understand why it was removed. My apologies!
I'm very sorry for sharing it. I had no idea x_x
My apologies lore chat
all good!!
Not much narrative concept art was shown over the lanterns that you haven’t already seen on Tom Zhao’s site. Here is the only dialogue over it; nothing that really helps us with our research on Projections.
||Also, this totally isn’t propaganda glaze but everyone should absolutely give all their money to TGC because the art for Vault outside of this snippet is gorgeous!||
Oh i know about the concept art! I was curious about the flavor text about it that is not on website.
Headcanon that manta kidnapped him and he now doesnt know how to get back down.
New season emblem dropped on socials
Apparently the next season is Two Embers part 2 and the symbol is just Resh's eyelashes
It’s not The Two Embers part 2. That comes in somewhere in 2027 I believe. However the next season is still lore based apparently.
looks like a bird, or an angel's wings
definitely megabird related season
Then it might be time for the Rhythm gang to make a comeback 👀
Even though I'd love for Light seekers to get more attention
Or elder bird
Season of Mutant Banana /j
Banana krill
It looks like elder manta to me.
I think it's something with wings
I would like to ask here because they seem to be detailed, but do you know the good picture quality of this picture and the readable description?
This is my first time so I'm sorry if I'm rude
It is one of these yes
Where is this from
Where the hecc even is this?
Where is this mural?
Is it from Light Awaits?
The boats raising to the sky from isle look like something from LA but it would greatly help us if you said where you got this mural so it can be properly categorized based on its location.
However if you have this image from future content that we are not supposed to see yet (there are couple of… things… from supposedly next season that accidentaly made it to live) then it would be best to delete it.
If it is from Light Awaits then it is okay.
Whats the lore stuff around the passage clan
I believe its from the Art of Sky artbook
Just finished Chapter 1 of the two Embers. I’m a little confused about the Elders. We saw Lamed and her role, but what about the others?
Nothing Abt the others there's only Lamed and Resh unfortunately
@narrow marsh I own the artbook and it's here
So far this is the only instance where I see this
We’re not sure! Passage was very mysterious, and in terms of worldbuilding mechanics and storybuilding it was even more complicated than Prophecy!
Here’s some of my takeaways from what we as a community learned, though:
- Spaces are much more complicated than being Mental parallel planes, and can actively blur the lines drawn between the physical and mental/spiritual planes in real time.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message - There is a large thematic and empirical correlation with lots of Ancestor children being in or coming from the Isle of Dawn area, which leads to many children being raised, taught, and educated there.
- While we have had only a few examples of the Fire Era,
[Fire Era quickly explained below]
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
the Passages reinforce to us that the Fire/Dawn Era held great importance in rituals, Light magic, and raising the next generations.
Who the Passage guide was is still very unclear. Other powerful or important Ancestors have been confirmed or hinted at to be the apprentices of certain Elders, so could this guide be an apprentice of- say- the Isle Elder?
And where did they collect all these kids from? Why did their parents give them over to the Passage guide? How many other children were made to partake in the Passages besides the four Spirits we personally meet? Was it all Ancestor children in Isle? Or just some?
Much to think about ❤️ 🕯️
Oh okay great, I was skimming through the book and was so confused
I was still finishing up that Passage message but I was gonna ask you

Haha ye it's actually in the very first pages
Oh hey the art book puts hair behind ear my birthday is in two weeks wink wink /j
I'm gonna take another look to the artbook again later and I'll share what I find especially with the new Two Embers context in mind
I wonder if we will get artbook reprint with two embers content added in 2027
Oooo, I always liked the idea of it being a nomadic clan. Eg the mask maker has these lessons and teachings, and they happen every year as the spirits travel around the realms.. And it's multiple different families and it's sort of a coming-of-age thing? A rite of passage you do before you get your mask and become considered an adult.
Oh about that, in Japanese theatres they released a booklet, which is essentially a mini artbook. (All in Japanese though) and my friend sent me this from Japan xD
I was hesitant of sharing the content because it's supposedly exclusive to Japan theatres but well here's a quick skim xD
That Lamed tpose made me giggle
The concept arts are the ones featured during the awards back to back episode screenings too!
I love t-posing elders
technically an A pose/lh imagine we see the elder t posing in game 😭
I mean there's a bug like that in orbit
What really? 😭
Stew with more of a moth like hair
Yeah! I was surprised about the early design, they used to have a moth like hair albeit messier
Yeah I think you need to summon them and wait for like 10 minutes and they t-pose
And not even A-pose straight up T-pose
is it just me or does this support the unified Dusk theory?
a good reason to die again in eden after a while /jk
Twins stand behind each other like in titanic
Hopeful moff 🤲
Hopeful moff
Thats on purpose I bet /j
They just gained sentience
OMG YES, GAGAHAH
Isle Elder is my favourite one, I recommend to anyone to try search up the elder's T pose models in orbit, they're brilliant
image from Vela [#lore-discussion-spoilers message]
OMG YES THEY DO, I don't wanna semi flood images of t pose models so here's the message link to the image from Soapy #screenshots-and-videos message 😭
few months ago I went to slide down a hill and my sky kid randomly T posed, thank you switch for your 30 second before clip feature as I clipped it. The game uses T pose, while the two embers uses A pose
Hes just like me how I feel after physiotherapy (i have back problems)
Skids also Tpose for one or two frames when you slide and then hit small obstacle like the steps in closet for example
Ooooo, that explains it, I remmeber sliding down a hill but then randomly did it - must've a been a small rock I didn't see

Yee I think the game either lacks or fails to load transition animation between sliding and standing straight
@wintry matrix btw I tried out the spell for the Projector thing and I'm gonna say, the creator commentary is so good, it's full of behind scenes commentary AND lore and I say you must watch it if you / friend have the prop iap
It's shown after the end credits of the movie btw
Awee little baby
I might buy it eventually, just not now, maybe in October depending on how well my next artist alley will go.
Very little babyyy I love the storyboards, animatics shown in there!
Yesss I hope you'll get it, trust me, it's so so worth it
Oh yeah it does include the little Part 2 teaser in this one
Also once I get the prop myself, I could invite you to watch the creator commentary together luca
(if you want to lol)
You know, the more I look at that emblem the more the eyelash thing looks like sand dune… Isle lore finally?
With the stars there it could be expansion of Passage lore or it could be something to keep the hype going for Two Embers because they are called Twin Stars in japanese (not sure if in chinese too).
What if we finally get the west side of Isle from the 2019 Taipei map? :3c
Where is this from? I don’t think I saw this in the art book
Whoa… hopefully there’s a translation of it somewhere
Double checked and its not in the booklet xD maybe somewhere else?
Huh? I screenshotted it from the video you sent in :0
Whaaaa?? It's not in the book at all :O
Am I delulu then? 😭😭😭😭
Oh nvm I thought you're referring to the world of Sky map you shared above HAAKHDKS excuse me orz
Like this one was what I thought you got from the artbook AHAH
discord linking doesn't work all the time hence the confusion
Dw I thought Amity was also asking about the map first
🤝
Oh I could share the (rough) translation but I'm hesitant a lil ahaha xD
My brain is a little fried so excuse my confusion hahaha
Get some water, Grey. Mint tea is good for setting your body into cooling mode
Oh thank you! I don't have mint tea but water works well right now (actually considering getting myself one tho)
Magnesium water is also good! owo
lol I've never heard of that
interesting
Oh we have it in form of springwater here! It has natural magnesium in it
But I saw waters that have magnesium and other minerals added in, they are usually sold on same shelf as the iso drinks
You can also just take magnesium pills (better at night, especially if you take vitamin C at morning) for same effect, it is good for tiredness, brain fog and anxiety
and also for muscles.
But getting offtopic here, I can give more info in DMs if you want.
Btw what's this like lore wise or smth it looks like the manta drawings in prairie too but I'm not sure why it's here or when did I even light it
(say if it's a spoiler so I'll shut up and go on with my day lmao)
Official event in China. The artist is Yui
Exhibition of official Chinese event. Also posted on weibo
It's from a light await event. It was on the exhibition of official Chinese events. The artist is Yui.
The picture and the explanation are a set, but I want to read the description
thankyou
Tbh it has prairie vibes too me
Maybe bc it lowk looks like a manta
the new season's sneak peak pattern reminds me of the pattern we see in that pool area to enter the office in vault, just the way it branches off similarly to each other
The megabird?
yes that
There's Megan in the pool?
if you fly up and look down, yes you see it
Yeah she is enjoying her huge bird bath
this Tower is photo task Graveyard
Birds are so cute in water oml
Clean birb
You mean it counts as a grave?
Photo task graveyard I'm a newbie so I don't really know what that is
Imagine taking stroll in vault just to find this honker chonker chicken sitting in the middle of your private garden
Fluffy
must pat
“Fear not my child, one is just cleansing oneself and be off in a moment.”
will be super interesting to see if this next season will be focusing on/adding in lore or it'll be a breather season of more just fun
It better not be collab
I need lore to breathe
End of next season will have wind paths leading to peaks, trust cope
usually collab seasons are revealed loooong in advance if I recall, so very likely not
Or adaptation! Blue bird was nice but I would rather prefer original sky lore
Hi Maelstrom
Im hoping we get a new windpaths style shortcut to
Peaks, Abyss, Crescent Oasis, maybe moomin but that could be weird
Why moomin
Oh Crescent Oasis has shortcut! It is called 💸💸💸💸💸
Hi Luca
Also, 2 Embers projector dropped, with a commentary on it, so maybe more lore coming up
It's one of the other non-through path places
It's clearly not in sky
Recently all murals in collab room got extra details except the 9cd and my friend said earlier that maybe TGC lost the copyright when they had to change the symbols on the deer, so Im curious when and how they will make the spirits visit as TS cuz they soon have to be TS, revival manequins are next main TS obstacle and 9cd is right after.
We thought that about starlit desert, too, but that got connected,
Anything in "memory" is possible in Vault
Yay revival manicures
I think we are fairly close to revival being the next season with TSes...
Though I'm wondering for Gratitude spirit this week if they will contain Radiance upgrades
Oh starlit desert has flavor text about dream/dreamlike realms collide so the whole thing is one big dream… shards still do fall there though unlike other collab areas.
Someone in SEC said yesterday or day before that maybe TGC will bring the manequins for days of style.
Oh revival literally is the next season, as we have had one from moments now...
same, the good theming story behind it was great though
though we did get a random lore dump on Sparkler Parent, so we know the belonging family tree more now
And 9cd is right after revival.
I think the shard thing may be more to do with season order, as we haven't seen shards in any post shattering areas, but could be a lore reason for that too
(except moments, but that was special for days of event)
Possible they could retcon it as it was "a play", but yeah likely grandma and grandpa belonging are pleafuls parents
oh Im sure there will be BIG shard eruption in one of recent post shattering areas alright
Only the memory of one
OG shattering
5 AC eruption in Eden, take it or leave it
imagine a mannequin floating down standing in the middle of aviary for a few days
though it'll probably get the shattering cosmetic treatment where all the cosmetics come back in one go as a 'TS group'
Maybe it will be back in aviary gift shop
The shops in Aviary have been pretty weird oob recently, like the doorways got swapped around and several of the connecting passages which were closed by doors but connected, completely gone now.
There are still doors to old (pre radiance) room but you have to search for it.
Though that was also to make way for the calendar notice board bit too, the original shop is kinda inaccessible, but is still there
Oh actual warp points in Aviary?
I only found them through oobing from the bank of shops
There is one warp that will put you back to aviary as if you were exiting the current gift shop no matter from where you go to there. The old room has no warp point, you can land in it from OOB.
Ah, yeah that's what I'd seen too
There's a huge flame there too, great for recharging
the amount of times aviary has changed its room around... I remember early into Season of Revival I was excited to see the mannequin room, moth/sparrow room, and the saloon room all connect together
i miss the pre-radiance aviary oob, the fallen down bells were so cool
the only place where it stayed is in nest and theres warp if you try to fly there
the exclusive interviews from the projector of memories: what i find interesting
this confirms that candle forging hasn't been done for centuries
krill model
beacons
production draft notes
eden mountain
also, memory lanterns are referred to as 'Books' by the animation staff
Days of Sunlight task
The task of shooting the tomb in it when it is said to shoot the specified item
Oh I haven't had that yet I did the 15 ones and the daily one today too soo
Oh btw it's not the case of TGC losing Copyrights, it's more so the contract had expired. See little prince turning greyish after the TLP season ended. So it's the similar case for 9cd
I don't know where they said tgc lost the copyright. Collabs are contract based so I'm sure the TS would still return as normal, like TLP and AURORA
Steward literally following a memory, as we do
But Prince was green during Days of Bloom
Im not arguing that he wasnt gray before, I remember him being gray when i did the quests for the first time as moff but he did turn green during the bloom event.
During the season they were green, probably renegotiated the contract
This one was recorded during the season, I believe they were grey after the season until bloom, now grey again
That's precisely because TLP ip holder and TGC signed a new contract for the Bloom collab
So essentially when TGC doesn't own some of the IPs because of contract expiration, they have to change their appearances. Whatever your friend said that TGC lost the copyright is likely a rumour
Resh aurafarming once more described
He's so awesome
Yep the prince was grey when I played the season quests in 2022, long after the season had ended. Then the bloom special collab was the only time I could see the prince in his original colours
Tbh I do kinda like the lotus pattern on the deer, it seems more thematic than the crescents
Anyway I think it's easy to guess that 9CD spirits would return in traditional way since it's not a mannequin based season
@cobalt palm same I love the lotus patterns, it's gorgeous but I also loved the original and classic crescent version
Maybe we'll get a full Aviary return, all 4 revival and 4 (5?) duets mannequins
1000+ candles
don't forget Nesting with all those props
TTE spirits will be much worse for moffs when they return, I can very much see TGC saving their first visit for group visit, maybe before or during Part 2.
Sentry alone will be 250 - 300 candles minimum for sure.
That means Tgc will give us a free spear before the darker part
pretty cool
very likely, Sentry is the first to have two items per cosmetic type in one tree but let's see
And the fact that they have two cosmetics per cosmetic type in 2 cosmetic types
But there's the other two spirits that's are absolutely dirt cheap sc wise so maybe those could be somewhere 150-200
Would be cool if dawn part season was sponsored by Daleth similarly to dusk part being sponsored by Lamed
Moffs after having to spend 1200 candles and 100 usd in 2027 when TTE spirits and iaps return
Would be funny if, during the season for part 2, part 1 returns as TS group + all IAPs become available again
It's very likely that the Part 1 iaps would return as a separate event before Part 2 actually happens to hype it up
Me who totally did not spend around 100 usd this season:
Listen, I see manatee stuff and I want manatee stuff.
Everything for one flying egg
Egg?
If part 2 will have manta stuff or we get some other adorable light creature being Im sold.
A different flower with a butterfly will be there maybe
Luca's wallet gone in 1 second
You dont even know how unlucky I am to just miss the shattering group visit, you would see the wax fly by
I saw some sassy full weasel form fanarts and I want that one as plushie :3c We better get couple of new animals for Part 2 cuz it is Fire era and things should be normal still.
biggest thing I hope for part 2 cosmetics is to have the ruler's mask and cape
Alef's at least
give Hopeful Steward heart attacks everyday I log onto sky and run to light friends up wearing the ruler outfit
Sentry cape is kinda like that.
I think the story of tte would make them a bit uneasy in general or maybe I'm projecting
Oh? They show this stuff too on projector?
Part 1 wise context, Hopeful Steward would probably be really cross with you dressing up like the ruler
but part 2 context if we see confrontation between the two, hopeful would probably give you the huge side eye
Skid: sobbing for Ruler after Part 2 because we will FOR SURE all sob
Stewie:
about to pick another sharp stone
dusk going back on their second revenge arc
BAWHAWAHHAHA, accurate 😭
The leash is lamed holding dusk memory lantern (act as theraphy method for them)
What are we talking about today lore chat?
Stew preparing another crime.
I would support their arson crimes
Good morning everyone! Let’s see what’s on the docket today. 📖
Hm, yes, I see
Somethingsomething Spirits as Projections; somethingsomething Light as the memory of Souls-
Somethingsomething Shared Spaces, sonethingsomething blurring the divide between physical and emotional realities-
Somethingsomething Shared Spaces as
Mental Spaces; somethingsomething greater Connection to “the platform” in the Void
Somethingsomething Darkstone archiving; something something harnessing Light’s ability to Remember
Lots to do, folks, lots to do
🕯️
Lots of archiving to achieve today folks, gotta memorize the summer while it lasts 🙂↕️
I think the cameras use darkstone films.
WHAT

This officially confirms the Ancestor kingdom did not happen in a single ‘lifetime’!!!!!

@spiral vault we can finally lay that to rest
Where where where

Could it be that the Elders were just ordinary people? The old man in Chapter 1 might be the Isle Elder. The soldier that we helped in the story quest I think was implied to be the Wasteland Elder. Etc
Tgc confirmed that elders have always been elders. Cool theory tho.
What exactly are the Elders? Are they leaders?
too that The Ruler also knows how to make a candle said in an interview if I recall
The Dawn Ember knew. The Ruler… well…
Pls share i don't care
isn't Isle Of Dawn and Daylight Prairie should be the same place there are broken boats sunk in the sand and we meet the craftman of the boats in Daylight Prairie and golden building heads are the same as well
The only scene we know is in the final Shattering memory, where all of them appear to unsucessfully stop the Eden diamond. Besides that, nobody knows.
OH GOD
Does that mean Resh is immortal???
People have always had those headcanons that the Elders live for hundreds of years

I'm sorry I'm hesitant because I want to respect the exclusivity of the specific item to the Japanese audience right now as it is still on sale online in Japanese sites
Imagine these people were actually knowing their Elders before fleeing to the Last City, even if imho, Toymaker is from Isle of Dawn, Shepherd is from Daylight Prairie and Recluse is from Hidden Forest. :)
While Sentry could very well be Wasteland Elder´s recruit.
I wonder how the ancient’s wounds materialized. Like with us, a wound may heal and never be noticeable, or it will form a scar. Here, two ancestors both have an eye scar, but Wounded Warrior’s … wound- has crystallized while Scarred Sentry’s has not, even as a ghost. Instead it’s revealed what is underneath the skin, something white that is the same color as the eye (light?). They can’t be different because one was a killing blow, both lived after being wounded. So what gives?
maybe that's a severe chip in the mask, while Sentry has a full-blown eye wound
actually, never mind, the "crack" on warrior's mask looks like it came from the plague that we saw with toymaker, it's an infection, not a scar
But they got it right after someone attacked them
that's actually really interesting!! there's no sign of a written language anywhere, only murals, so that basically solidifies that they read solely through visual cues
On second look. I guess not. But it looks different than the sickness. Those stones are black while this is blue
Or maybe just black in the film?
ahhhhhhhhhhh i see
i thought it was a dark creature that attacked if i remember correctly, if not, then i guess the chipped mask is the best we can assume unless we wanna get down the rabbit hole of what exactly, the ancestors are made of (and maybe by extent, us, too). They are made of light, but they're not full-on light creatures, and however darkness manifests in them is uncertain. Assuming warrior is wounded in his eye there, that's clearly darkstone inside him. That could mean two things: either the ancestors always had darkstone inside them, or this darkstone was implemented in a select few soldiers to contain their darkness in the war (think the bodies of krills), like weird cyborg things
i think that could be a case in how the spirit memories look, that transparent starry blue filter thing
Okay so. Black in the film. Blue in the game. Sorry for terrible quality
nah its ok!!
I think we just need more samples of spirits with open wounds 😔 As warped as that thought is.
it could be a matter of just the many colors darkness comes in, it can be black and blue as we see with the wax plants
and also red like with the eden shards
Image a spirit with a big red wound. The implications…
its like how bruises can have different colors is what i'm getting at, they're results of the same cause even if they look different
the projector's version of 2E includes the interview with the animation staff
'Books' were used to refer to memory lanterns multple times
there are runes on the bells found across the realms, e.g. aviary, prairie, forest
and concept art also included words spelled in the sky alphabet
Heya guys, I just finally found the time to finish the final quest of the season and my biggest question is about the vault elder cuz like hello??? I thought elders were trapped in like- their shrine thingies but apparently they can get out???
Im so confused
We gave them light and now they can leave probs
My headcanon is that they can actually walk around their own realms after we gave them light (aside appearing at Vault Summit and in Orbit), but only their own realms, thus kinda nice that Quest 5 sorta confirmed it. :)
Oop- hi spectra :0
Dude, that is so clear tho (playing 2E Part 1 movie inside DoS Archives)!
No joke, viewing the movie like this allowed me to see some hidden details I never would´ve thought I´d be able to see like soldiers to the left when the Warding Turrets restarted themselves.
Another 2 is one of the guards actually looking at distraught Shepherd after their manatees were drained of light and the second one (one that placed the Light-Draining device to Dusk Ember´s manatee) seemingly looking at struggling Dusk Ember for what looked like a second. 👀
You can choose to play that interview at any given time?

Like the item just has its own menu of videos to select from?
No, it plays in this order: full Part 1 -> sneak peek -> commentary -> concept art.
Krills are TERRIFYING.
If they were indeed the result of experimentation ... and also great to see that at least some things regarding Chapter 3´s situation were confirmed. Even though I would´ve never thought that the shower of ambient Light in Chapter 2´s start is a starfall.
Does that mean that the murals at Isle of Dawn actually confirm that the Ancestors are indeed fallen stars just as much as we Skykids are??
- the full loop is 80 mins
Part 1 -> bonus clip with Dawn ember -> interviews -> concept art
Thanks. Also yes, given how developer commentary talked about "taking Light to fight Darkness with it, thus wasting it", I´m kinda certain that Krills here represent the core corruption of Last City as well.
They´re taking more Light to use it against Darkness as means of defense, but by taking Light, they only empower Darkness more and thus it´s able to take more Light by itself until none is left.
It´s literally a giant Krill slowly looming in the distance, awaiting when the Light is weak enough (through isolation and selfishness and greed and all) for it to be able to make its final move. Which happened when the Eye of Eden, the single brightest thing in the region, shut down, even if for a while.
I was checking out the Duets area behind the stage, and on the desk there's a pencil seen with a bunch of multiple papers with words written on them, written language does exist it's just put in places for players to spot rather than in open to see
I still love how you can see Sentry´s hand holding Recluse´s back there.
man, the projector is expensive, but it seems to be worth it for the lore
I've been told Sky kids are like. Reincarnations of the past ppl of Sky. Is that true?
No
I think you're referring to the theory that all skykids are shattered pieces of The King (Resh)
Ohhhhhhhhh okay. So what"s the lore? Cause I still don't get it lol
Wait there was a king? OH GOD THE WAIT WHYYYYYYY
Do you want it in a nutshell or?
Also have you finished the game? The lore contains spoilers for Eye of Eden and beyond.
Yeah. Like a detailed summary on the important parts
Beginning.
6 stars fall. They're the elders. The elders try to build a kingdom in the clouds.
Concept Art Names:
Isle Elder : Daleth
Priarie Elder : Ayin
Forest Elder : Teth
Valley Elders : Samekh
Wasteland Elder : Tsadi
Vault Elder : Lamed
Anyway, back to lore.
The elders set up their realms. People from earth go on a pilgrimage to Mt.Eden to ascend to orbit and be reborn. Isle of Dawn is on the land rather than in the clouds. People come there to begin their journey. Mt. Eden is a sacred mountain. It's the location where souls ascend to Orbit. There's a lot of energy there. Valley of Triump and Golden Wasteland are one realm during this era: Golden Valley. Vault is inside Mt.Eden. It's like an elevator to near the top of Mt.Eden.
Were there elevators back then though
Hmm... idk. We gotta ask the lore giants.
Since darkstone is discovered a bit later I think there was lot of stairs
I kinda wonder whst the elders relations were with eachother actually. Did they hste each other? Or were they close?
But on the other hand boats were a thing
That... I don't know.
Very worth it! Also the ability to have a proper - ish full screen
And also you get to support the animation studio through the funding, while they're making part 2
let's give the animators the boost they need! I'm so glad that it's a permanent thing
Alef.
4 Prophets prophesy that a child who can pass all four elemental trials will bring prosperity to the land or smth when crowned king. Many children went to take the trials. And died.
One day, a star fell, similarly to the elders. The star was a child, Alef (Prince). He was found by Ushering Stargazer. Stargazer adopted Alef. Then Stargazer died due to a darkstone infection, leaving Alef destitute.
Now there's a period of time we can only speculate since this is what The Two Embers Pt 2 will cover. We dunno much, but we do know that Daleth was Alef's mentor/parental figure during this time (Peter Parker and Tony Stark Dynamic)
Probably close they were one.. I mean 7 of a kind back then so they understood each other better
Fair
Comrades at least
It'd be cool to see some of these characters actually interact with each other more.
The Trials.
Alef undergoes the trials. Others perish as always but he perseveres. He finishes them. He then gives each elemental power to an elder or smth. He is then crowned King. Name changes to Resh.
Resh.
Resh brings many innovations in the Kingdom of Sky. He rules from the prosperous land on Eden. The soul cycle isn't interrupted. People can pilgrimage and ascend from there. Everyone loves Resh. Resh learns darkstone and stuff from Teth. He makes darkstone tech powered by light. He uses butterflies to power them, brought from Daylight Priarie.
There are factories made in Hidden Forest (Forest Temple) and Golden Wasteland (The First Krill Area) which refine Darkstone Ore into Usable Darkstone and extract Light. Slight amounts of pollution (dark water) is produced, but they're ignored. It's only a little bit.
The kingdom prospers even more. Mega sports take place in Valley of Triumph. The Golden Wasteland part of Golden Valley is heavily industrialized.
Darkstone is mined from all sites possible. (You can find darkstone in Priarie Peaks because they were under the protection of Ayin)
But soon, butterflies aren't enough. The demand for light is high. So they start using mantas, manatees, etc. More pollution is produced.
Resh builds a giant darkstone diamond on top of Eye of Eden meant to harness energy from the soul cycle.
OHHHHHHHHHH. The crystal up there is like a natural thing!?
On top of Eden? Or the priarie Peaks one?
Eden lol. The big red crystal
Not natural. That's the thing that wiped out everyone
Okay. I'm assuming because of the demand, it sorta overloaded the thing?
The energy from the soul cycle is too much for the diamond. And it explodes from overloading
Pre-Shattering.
Experiments begin in Treasure Reef. They experiment to create artificial light creatures. It goes horribly wrong. Baby krills hatch from experimented manta eggs. Leviathan (King Krill) mutates from an Elder Manta (Elder Manta refers to the creature that appears in Sanctuary Islands once you finish the final Sanctuary Quest). The researchers die.
Realms succumb to darkness. The city in wasteland is the last one standing.
Next up, the events of TTE Part One happens.
Wait. Was the mounatin in two embers Eden?
The Shattering.
The Avenge- I mean The Elders assemble to confront Resh about all that he's been doing. They "curse" him or smth. The diamond explodes. Elders are locked in stasis in their shrines.. The king suffers a crueler fate (Death OR being trapped in the void as the child we hug{speculation}).
99% of the Kingdom of Sky die or get calcified (become the spirit husks we burn to relive their memories and free them). Some people still live. Refugees in the Repository of Refuge. Scavengers like the Abyss Crew. Etc. Etc.
Post-Shattering.
Skykids fall. We bring back light. And we return light to the fallen in Eden. The world slowly heals... or does it? Eden erupts once in a while sending a Shard to the realms (shard events).
Ohhhhh. Wait so does everyone hate the king?
At the beginning, no. They all love him. He's like the sun.
At the end, most people are fed up. Widespread suffering. But they're still loyal for some reason.
I'd always assume that eden's crystal was just on it's last hinges before finally giving in and dies out
Anyway, @wispy valley take my words with a grain of salt. I'm new to the lore as well. You should ask some of the more well-versed ones to get really accurate lore
Aight ye. This lore is kinda vague from the story telling lol
Okay hear me out. WHAT IF... we FEED the crystal with the spirits to make it collapse?
hey, where the hell is it said that the Trials caused deaths?
I think it refers to prophecy cave's murals. It is shown that several bodies lying there as alef undertaking the trials one by one
this part?
got a better angle
Either Sparkler parent hoarded or both Forest and Prairie supplied all the way to Valley.
Also loads of the cleansing candles.
Forgive the quality, I dont have camera with me.
Can I ask how valley of triumph and golden wasteland split? And how they were joined once?
I think the elevators were there cus we can see prototypes of it in teth's temple
It was powered by the dark substance (I forgot the name 😭) from what I heard on a vid
Darkstone. The Elevator is there now. But we're contemplating whether it was present in the past before the industrialization and darkstone innovations during Resh's reign.
We were born for this
But wasn't it discovered the same time? Cus I see teth as the maker of architecture and all the elders were present na, and I feel like the vault elder heavily relied on teth for architecture cus it's the most important realm and stores alot of knowledge and projectors of past and present and possibly the future too
Lamed and Teth are implied to be related and very well may have worked together since the Vault uses cutting-edge darkstone tech like the darkstone lanterns.
Darkstone was discovered before Alef's arrival but it wasn't as widespread and used as it was after Resh.
Ouu yea, I can see how teth and lamed are related
I feel like they were also rlly close since some of architecture seen in vok is also seen in some parts of forest
And talking about discovery, if it was discovered before alef's arrival (also I haven't read the full thing, I'm reading it as u speak 😭!!), then teth must've found it and immediately started experimentation
Each elder has a specific power, and teth is like the builder and she must have a vast knowledge of architecture and that coulda been found in vault of knowledge (vok) with the help of her sister
I dunno. I'm new here. Take my words with a pinch of salt.
Im ngl I feel like daleth is father to teth and lamed, cus one he's rlly old, two he's wise and knowledgeable as heck and is chronological with things and has order which are the elements needed for vok,
and three, he's been shown to be able to fix his mask similarly to how teth fixes that diamond shaped object in the cutscenes of meeting each elder
I see him as the first vault elder and passed it and his knowledge down to his daughter lamed,
And like I said before, he can likely fix architectural objects like blocks and he must've passed the technique and knowledge of architecture down to teth
Most if not all the elders must have learned most things from daleth 😭
Elders have always been elders. They fell down together from The Light. Daleth could have been the wise one, but they're all technically the same age.
Valley Twins make me question this tho.
I feel like they held meetings in vok cus all the elder statues are shown there, so they prolly must have interacted and not just on business bases but on casual bases cus there's that one room with the big table and chair with that bundle of candles underneath and some elders must have gathered for a lil casual tea party or smth
We don't know if they were sent at the same time
Oh yeah. Wait.
I don't think they were parents to one another
Imagine getting married to an elder
So awkward
Oh wait that's true... Gotta look at those inscriptions again
I don't think there was marriage between anyone cus it's not rlly shown 😭
Marriage free society does sound nice
I think golden wasteland was the main factory cus look at the waters there
But I still don't think they parented one another
But on the note of twins here I would like to remind you they shared a realm with tsadi I think
I'm taking about it just so everyone remembers
Too bad they're elders 😭
And if they DID fell at the same time, I feel like they would all have a familial type of connection with eachother so 😭..
Yeah. GW was heavily industrialized. I said that.
So yeah more scenarios of them interacting should be in y'all's heads thankyou
My bad, I read a bit and write my reply 😭!!!
I desperately need parent au cus daleth is teth and lamed's father and tsadi is the twin's father 😭
BUT I HAVE A REASON FOR THIS I SWEAR HEAR ME
the way the valley twins use their weapons reminds of not just hockey but fighting cus out of the two, mekh (the bob hair) has a more serious and stern persona and I feel like he's the first twin that was born and back when the two realms were joined, there could be only one successor so tsadi might have given more drills to mekh then sah
And I can't explain it fully but I swear the twins must know how to fight with their paddles cus of tsadi 😭
Mekh is so cute
And also, talking about megasports and the valley twins basically being elders of sport, sportmanship, discipline (sah ain't built for that one tho 🙏) and all, these two must've parttaken in that one sport where two people ride on horses with a big pole with a sharp end and whoever pokes the other first wins
Very golden wasteland sport
They probably would have rode mantas instead of horses tho
Or whatever manta+manatee mix carries the caravan in p2 trailers
It looks very tanky
I feel like krills are not a mutation of mantas, but dead mantas who have their light energy sucked out and slowly decay and turn into krills
And these krills are constantly hunting for light energy such as skykids cus sky kids pure beings of light and so were the krills once
(ps!! I haven't been there for season of abyss)
I mean abyss murals show them hatching from eggs
Maybe they are stillborn mantas
I wonder how the elders got locked in their shrines tho?
Did resh (alef) passing all the trials give him a power to lock them up cus these trials are in a secluded place and if you have passed it, then you receive a special power to freely navigate the place without dying and be able to leave the place?
Ohh yea, like those small creature of light but grown
this guy
Ouuu I see, I'll have to check all the seasonal parts I missed cus holyy lore has been updated alot 😭
I highkey think that the new skykid (us) are like a part of resh's soul
Cus when we pass eden and find resh, he becomes the pure being of light and we are like the yin and he becomes the yang
And these two are connected
Ouuu those must be burials
And these fallen people might have a bit of light infused in them and used to charge the trial to reenter it cus the burial is in the same room with candles above them
So we might be lighting the burial candles all along 😭
We dont know. We only know they were once called Golden Valley as said in 7 Days of Sky.
Hey just to let you know, this was said in livestream that is now privated so it might not be canon anymore.
Ohhh I see, I'm guessing in the fifth image, the kingdom on the far right is golden wasteland now?
Cus the main things shown all have current valley elements
Yes, that is what we now know as Golden Wasteland.
In fact, Valley, Wasteland and Eden all share the same architecture as they essentially were part of one supercity (think of it like irl Tokyo, it being in size of half of UK).
Here are earlier versions of what could have been either Valley or Wasteland temple and the theatre/amphitheatre that later became colliseum.
Might be off topic but isn't that the same kinda amphitheatre shown in season the little prince?
Yes it is. Gloating Narcissist area.
I guess both areas were influenced by resh and/or teth 👀
What makes you think that? Teth was blacksmith, not architect.
Starlit desert is not even part of the kingdom perse, its more like one big shared space inside vault.
Not exactly lore-related, but knowing flight wasn’t possible for the spirits until SkyKids came along, years after they all d!3d.
Does anyone ever think of a spirit’s reaction to when they’re holding a SkyKid’s hand and all of a sudden, they were flying with them because of said SkyKid’s cape?
Spirits do hold our hand and fly with us without fear.
We saw Resh being able to fly/float. Elders kinda do that too (Teth on orbit for example).
Spirits are aware we are "higher beings" so us being able to fly is propably nothing surprising to them.
I don't think the elders have one skill cus the dark stone technology seen in her temple is also seen in other realms as well
Resh is the eden king ig and teth is forest elder,
And imo teth is the elder of architecture, blacksmith, forgery, craft and all
And I feel like teth and lamed are related and teth relied on lamed's vault of knowledge to improve her craft and understand dark stone technology so she can make better use of it
And I'm not saying starlit dessert is part of the kingdom, I mean that the architecture of the amphitheatre in starlit desert and valley of triumph might have been made by teth or the blueprint of it was made by teth, sorry I didn't give clarification 😭
I guess, but do you think spirits were aware of it before the Shattering or was it discovered when the first of the new generation took their hand and flew?
We do see darkstones and darkstone technology in other realms because Forest was supplying the kingdom with them and the area around forest temple was turned into quarry/industrial area (as described in concept art).
There was big ore vein under forest (as seen in All Soft Inside).
You can find Forest symbols everywhere in kingdom past Hidden Forest realm, even in Last City 500 years ago and in Eden.
Murals describe Forest trading with Prairie, Forest receiving butterflies and Prairie receiving darkstones. This was likely during early days of the industrial revolution as theres no way butterflies would be enough to power everything later on. The first krill area of Wasteland is copy of the Forest temple, so it was likely built later on with rest of the factories there. it would make sense as the terrain there is much better (vast plain VS hilly forest) and it was much closer to the diamond.
There is no evidence of Teth designing or building any of those things but that doesnt exclude the fact she might have still be part of the planning, just on the side of actual technomagical stuff rather than architectual.
If you would like to read more about the darkstones, I can forward you this post of mine #promote-your-sky-content message
Drops the lil Dawn Ember teaser that's in the iap
noticed the teal / blue "cape" on the ground
got a picture
She's so round
Looks like an egg 🥚
Give little lady a hug somebody
Gosh he looks bald even with hair on...
Confirmed bald since birth
Most light creatures look bald
Maybe his "hair" is just spray paint-
Would be weird to be born with hair
Oh wait skids are born with hair
Little freaks
his baldness surpassed any hair he had
irl babies are also born with hair Ash, im so sorry if you were born bald 😭
I looked like a big piece of pig fat when I was born
From descriptions of others
anyways lorechat, have we discussed the purpose of prairie? cause I feel like it might have been intended that prairie deals with dyes, or at least historically dealt with dyes
Wdym manatee is bald?
Hm?
Yeah I know that, the thing that caught my attention was that it was on the ground
A dead one then? :D
:D
||naur||
we see some bunch of lights there
Has the parent disintegrated
we do see Dawn Ember travelling to Isle of Dawn in trailers, so they could've stopped off somewhere for the night and Dawn Ember took off their dead parent's cape to admire the butterflies/light particles - just a guess
Or just something that emits lightballs
Or how do you say that
That's certainly an implication
Damn I'm not ready for part 2 LOL you have 1.5 years buddy
I'm too ready for it unfortunately
interesting to see players try figure out locations seeing their parent die elsewhere while we also have their husk right near that pillar thing to fly up to the temple in game
oh yeah, part 2 being more darker than part 1 can't wait
M-more dark.....my heart
she deflated
Jokes aside I think the bottom right is bonfire and those are embers from bonfire and thats when the neurons in his little head connect into AHA moment.
Just Stargazer pulling the Oogway
Spirits have a lot of weird lack of reactions to a lot of the things we do!
I think the strongest reaction we’ve ever gotten out of a Spirit was the Steward gasping when they saw our lit candle. (Which wasn’t that crazy of a reaction either.) Soon after that we meet the Rhythm guide who is completely unsurprised.
“Ah yes, a literal angel creature is standing in front of me, please come inside and commit arson in my home.
”
We can assume or headcanon a lot of things, but the truth is that we just know so little about Spirits.
Largely due to developer constraints and a lack of extra details like emotion-conveying emotions being added in; though perhaps the devs justify the lack of Spirit’s emotion to us as intentional, or perhaps even canon as Luca was headcanoning.
But again, the truth is that we can’t be sure of anything, and I enjoy the mystery of that.
🕯️
I believe Stewart seeing our lit candle is the first time seeing our candle. Our candle is made natural with us. So we take it out whenever we need to
❤️🕯️

🕯️
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Thx lol
How does this play in with the part of it where the red stone is a form of artificial stars that power the mechanical parts of their world and they got too reliant on it, causing the shattering and death of the creatures as the light harvesting halted the cycle (like we see in the two embers lore)
Good question! So the material you are referring to is called “Darkstone”. It was almost completely mined out of the Prairie and Forest regions after the Ancestors realized that it had the power to absorb Light and control Light’s power.
🕯️
That's what we see remnants of in the wasteland, where production and mining was happening, leading to the land dying. The temple in the forest is the refinement afaik?
Something like that! The Forest is where they began industrializing Darkstone technology, under the Forest Elder and young Ruler’s command. From there, they brought the industrialization to the lower half of the Golden Valley (which we now know as the Wasteland) and they created multiple factories, that looked identical or similar to the interior structure of the Forest Temple. That’s what the “Broken Temple” is; the building where you meet your first krill!
🕯️
Look familiar? 😉
🕯️ ❔
Yes. It's in the second episode of Two Embers where Dusk Ember uses it to make a candle and gives it to Resourceful Recluse
My plan now is to find anything from the series and maybe familiar characters from seasons but won't easy
i wonder how the orphan would react if they saw us spawn candles out of nowhere since they have to do all the work to make them 😭 well so do we via candle running LOL
Kinda looks like a butterfly jar to me. Probably the shape
At this point, Sky kids are like bees. We collect the light motes and spread them across the realms to pollinate life there
Our Queen Bee is the Giant Aurora
(un)fun fact: aurora is the only character model in the game with normal human eyeballs
even the little prince (also a human) has dot eyeballs only
Kinda cursed 😭
👁️👃👁️
No. Its the candle mold. We see Dusk directly use it to make candles in the movie.
We got our own candle from them. You pick it up from next to their statue in the Aviary intro.
Define normal 🔘👃🔘

She is indeed our great mother (essentially the avatar of Megabird)
i have a crazy theory
Except that there are clay plates in forgotten temple portraying the candle mold in literal sense and creating candles with it.
Where is this mural from? Ark?
yeah, it's from Ark
the whole thought process behind my theory was that the big beefy pot may have been used for trapping big motes like the Lightseeker ones
This one? Thats the candle mold. There are two in game, one in forgotten temple, second in toymakers/dusks tent. We see dusk pouring liquid motes in it in chapter 2 to make candle.
Just got my cape from the season, makes me kinda sad, but seeing that everyone shows respect to you, makes me wonder if King Resh is also a sky kid.
Unless thats devs way of thanking the user for completing the season.
I though that mural was from Prophecy, pretty sure

Noone said it is indeed from Ark.
To me, murals are mysterious and I like to piece them together like a puzzle to see what they mean
here's bigger image of theirs
also can someone explain to me the current lore of skykids. Im confused with the emblem movie. Is the main character different from the spirits? Are they the first skykid?
Sky Kids are immortals, which is no surprise there. What interests me is we were sent by the Mega Bird as a fallen star
The two embers shows living ancestors.
It is not yet clear if they are indeed skykids.
What sets skykids apart from ancestors. Be it living or spirits. It will depend on how you approach this.
In the game, there are no living ancestors in the present. So skykids stand out from the spirits.
They also poses the ability to return from Orbit and be reborn as well as supposedly their flight as no other ancestor spirit seems to have flying abilities of their own. At least not as far as they have shown the player.
As for the Two Embers animation's standpoint. We have seen living ancestors and their children. Even the elders seem normal in terms of their size and abilities. That is aside from the King who can float as if their connection to the light is much stronger than most ancestors that barely posses any ability to manipulate light as if it is some form or magical energy in this world.
To sum things up. A cape made of light, interacting with children of the light, or having the ability to produce a flame from their chests seems to be the definitive hallmarks of a skykid.
Their masks can be changed, their heights may vary, all of them seem to be child like at the very least, and it is not quite certain whether skykids are truly alive or are imitations of it.
Skykids honk
Ancestors dont honk./j
Last time I was here there was smth about 1st 2nd and maybe 3rd generations of skykids...maybe that was a theory?
Us Sky Kids will often sacrifice ourselves to save the fallen and to help ancestors ascend
So relatively speaking ancestor spirits are more humanoid and organic, elders are like giant ancestors with better connection to light, which the king has strongest connection.
If the elders (or ancestor spirits?) Fell from orbit down to the kingdom, would that mean they're still relying on the Light (capital L) as their power despite rebelling against it originally?
I recall that and have made my own theories along those lines.
Mine were more fanon based or for fun.
I would think so, yes.
Seeing as we use our own light to break the husks and restore power to the elders.
Damn the elders and ancestor spirits are made some silly decisions in that way.
Uhm I guess a better question now is if there has been any major lore reveals that changed what we knew before? I'm talking stuff we knew pre-nine coloured deer like the civil war, forest factories, Eden exploding from Alef being greedy, etc
First time hearing that outside elders and the ruler being "proto-skids". Where did you read that?
Where did you read that Elders rebel aganist the Light?
Oh, if you turn off the music completely and leave just ambience, you can hear the pipes screeching in the Eden dome.
Huh.
Hey @narrow marsh so apparently darknes rapidly consumes any light source in Eden apparently.
I cant figure out what exactly it is, there is nothing wrong with the pillar but it gets bombarded with rocks from other side than Im standing at and theres big red chunk nearby.
Its the pillar near the stone arch on the hill.
Okay so there are some really creepy sounds playing only when you come near PNR.
I never noticed it before cuz Im always playing music during Eden runs but this sounds almost like howling/singing
Resh, is that you?
the chorus of the lost
Even my bald skid reflection has more hair than Resh.
Oh, there are 4 acolyte/Resh statues, not 2, that changes some things.
You are forced to fly by the first two of them during opening animation, thats why I didnt notice them before.
You can also fly back to the vortex but there is invisible wall after while.
(maybe volume warning, I love Orbit music)
You can see the light motes circling the castle and going up to Megabird.
Our core is also colder? Than rest of our body here? Or not pure light unlike our body after death?
Oh and the circual structure around the diamond we see in movie?
It is absolutely still there too.
Unfortunately you cant get closer, there is reset barrier.
Little detail about Eden in the second area; Our sky kid has a little unique stance, no matter what stance you try pick, our sky kid will not change stances and stick to the unique one in that area - same for the PNR area too if I recall
The first area of course has a unique one as well with our sky kids bent down with their hands on on their chest stance, but this one is very obvious while the second area is very subtle
Yee, with this cape it made my skid look like first grader refusing to go to school on monday.
almost, just almost looks like they're wearing the cape as proper clothing
Whts up with the horse thing
Beta spoilers is not allowed in the live channels, best to talk about it in #beta-discussion
Thanks!
No problem! Would be greatly appreciated if you remove your previous beta spoiler message here
It isn't allowed there too

. .(-_-). .
Oh no talking about beta content in the beta channels are okay, but talking about current beta content in the live channels like this one is not allowed so this message here #lore-discussion-spoilers message has to be removed
thank you!
What you may be thinking of is how in the Present, skychildren are born into the world during different Seasons of time. For example, I could be born during Season of Flight and that would make me born during that “generation”.
Hope this helps
🕯️
I don’t understand, could you elaborate?
Do you know about the spotlight in PNR?
Ah I forgot you cant se the video. I placed the torch in Eden and it instantly vanished and left just "darkness shell" kinda like when you place one during red shards. I never seen that happen before and I bring the brazier with me to Eden basically everytime. It still put my prop on cooldown so its not like I placed it on invalid spot. And it did it everytime I put it there.
You mean the shining sundog behind you? I do, even tried to check where it comes from.
Exactly. We have no insurmountable proof that the Embers are skykids.
I think, in terms of categorizing different species and subspecies, with all of the involved abilities and disabilities; even if they somehow ended up being ‘identical’ in ability to skychildren in terms of inner Light and such, they just- can’t… fly?
||[Steeling myself for someone to inevitably post a picture of Resh floating in front of the Eden crystal

Oh no, not at all. When you are gifting Light to the statues, at the point where the rock rain gets more consistent; a red spotlight starts panning the watery floors. If it passes over you, it stops for a moment, and even if there was no rock rain in that moment, you are suddenly hit by a ton of rain, that is only in that spot.
Highly underrated detail that many of my peers across generations of theorists (crazy that I’ve been here long enough to say that) have waved away, unfortunately.
🕯️
Oh that one. That one is meant to be tied to the rock wave but the timing is off but yeah the spotlight thing is supposed to be light from the falling shards.
Interesting detail - skids glow brighter when they are near someone who is not at full charge. I had no rain (turned it off through last Boneyard altar) but Azzy did and we just kept glowing at each other like two salt lamps.
Another vault OSHA violation - Spirits supporting kids manipulating with open fire and high above their heads instead of giving them proper gear like stool and fireproof clothes. And no fire extinguisher in sight either!
Im writing a letter to Lamed.
Lol.
Fair enough.
One thing I recall recently is that skykids are also called Descendants. And this argument has been used to disginguish them from ancestors.
Ancestors naturally means people who lived a long time ago and the Embers are not exempt from this context.
This may also be why the supposed Dawn Ember (aka Revival guide, aka Stewie) is a spirit in the present and not a skykid like us who are descendants.
This however may not mean that the embers cannot be the precursors of skykids or possibly the reason that skykids exist.
So in that line of thought the "first generation skykids" as a fan theory suggests might apply to the embers is they in a fanon.
oh lol that wasn't what I was thinking of. It was more along the lines of
1st generation: first batch of skykids to be made by megabird, however failed to be reborn (the statues before pnr)
2nd generation: second batch to be made, however failed to be reborn (the statues in pnr)
3rd generation - the iteration of skykids that we play as now who can be reborn. So has another goal to bring light and free the failed skykids of the previous generation
Oh nevermind I was thinking of the opening Cutscene you used to get from old home but I was remembering the story wrong.
Also like I was deep into sky lore in 2020-2021 so the stuff abt generations of skykids are old theories I vaguely remember and idk how well it holds up now 😭😭😭
Oh yes that! I see the statues in a different way. The Sky art book mentions those statues; talking about how they are meant to express “how the Cycle continues”, for whatever the Megan that could mean.

I love studying prior generations of theories! It’s so incredible how much everything changes
🕯️
Soul migration?? Is that the path to orbit or orbit itself or the soul cyclw?

I also like to merge the 2nd gen and 3rd gen so the statues we free are other players who was also there to free other players and we will also be eventually freed by other players.
Oh maybe the dark limbo place is literally limbo - time between when we 'die' and are saved by another - and hugging the white child is representative of when we're saved by another player. I guess that's what they mean by the cycle.
But then that makes me wonder: what started it? Why did the first skykids go to Eden anyway?
Oh goodie the servers are back!
Anyways, I’m glad I’ve hooked you into the deeper secret icebergs of the Lore; the worldbuilding

Lemme show you some of the crucial you’ll need for your journey
Here is a comprehensive summary of what the Megabird is in today's iteration of Sky.

The Light cycle has been compared to the water cycle of real life by TGC. Here's a metaphor and elaboration on what that means, as well as some concept images to accompany! ❤🕯

And to give some thoughts, I completely agree that the statues we free likely represent dead players. What this means is that when we die in Eden, we would canonically be trapped there until another skykid gives Light to us. With Limbo freezing time and space for our poor skykid until we are canonically freed.
And yeah, why did the first skykids ever feel compelled to go there?
Well… probably the same reason we are now. Whenever we Call (honk) an icon appears, pointing us towards Eden. Could that have Lore implications? Who could be drawing us towards the Storm? Or what
🕯️
This is so interesting! Im gonna add it to my sky story's lore notes
Let's see if this works
I was reading this today and found it encapsulates the cycles and origins quite well:

It's a link to a blog post about the mega birb

More concept art of the Cycle I hadn’t seen before!
I hope people will keep in mind this concept is referencing the early-development state of Sky, where the real human world (like with skyscrapers and electricity and stuff) were planned to be a real part of the game at the time.
The Sky world, or rather the kingdom in the clouds, was supposed to be a dream that floated high above the real human world. But the Light of the Sky world would fall down into the human world… perhaps as dreams. Still very helpful for building our Understanding of how the developers designed the Cycle

Also the first picture implies that darkness has always been part of the cycle, it falls alongside the star fall as motes, but more balanced amounts
It's interesting that there's the arrows to indicate the light cycle and it overlaps with another arrow that could represent something less pure cause it goes through our world and includes dark creatures
Yeah exactly! I've always been thinking that darkness is not something that happens because of the King's greed, but something that exists alongside the light. Like the Yin and Yang concept, which I'm not surprised because a lot of Sky was inspired by the east Asian mythos and the Buddhist concepts
When light was harvested en masse, darkness grows more powerful hence tipping the balance out of way
I think generally a lot of stories that includes light will always have a natural balance of darkness, in this case maybe it's not in the same way as corruption from pollution, but just something that opposes light in a healthy way. I think in sky the pollution and destruction from using light as a source of power is what caused corruption of the darkness
It also makes me consider an old theory I had about sky being almost a dream world that we escape to. The presence of office has always made me wonder about this, and whilst it is likely just an easter egg of tgc's old workspace (ooh cool place to visit and hang out), it made me think on how we could be escaping into the world of Sky from our own world. Perhaps the aspects of darkness and destruction that we see in our own world are simply reflected in the kingdom as a result of our dreams and reality clashing.
It's not something I've dived deeply into, so it's a rather simplified theory, but seeing our world as part of the Sky world setting just reminded me of it a bit!
the additional info page that pops up when you’re in the menu has some interesting tidbits of information that I feel go overlooked/unnoticed due to most people not opening said extra menu on purpose.
Wait which menu? :o
The emotes/calls/spells menu. I have screenshots, I just need a couple minutes to transfer them from my Switch.
Ah, not Darkness as in the substance we know now- (transformed Light, which is important categorically for our studies) but Void.

Void is what moves in both parallel congruence and polar necessity with Light.
