Id like to think it’s really rare, since they’re also used in races so there would be some debate over it. (Wouldn’t help when they’re used for darkstone) But also because I just like to think most spirits have more vegetarian/light based foods than meat
that's true that they eat fish, but mantas is where I personally will draw the line for myself
Yaya fair, even I’m not sure on where I’d stand with manta consumption
absolutely same I refuse to even entertain that they eat mantas
Season of Cultivation
With grass eating emote
Everyone knows who's skykid, but there's something wrong....
Is skykid human?....
I don't believe they are
Skykids aren’t humans, no. There is a long list of difference between skykids and humans
About the new mural symbol
We know that (image 1) depicts an ancestor
We know that (image 2) depicts a skykid
So could this one (image 3) be depicting the floof things (image 4) that everyone becomes during quests?
That would mean that this mural depicts how students go through Passages
Either that or for some reason this mural is actually depicting the skykids of the present going through the Passages which sounds simpler in theory but is also weird because usually murals depict history/past events
It seems like I'm attracted to games where the adults mess up and the children are left to fix the world
Sorry if this has been answered, but I noticed on these doors the people in the boats look like the characters from journey. Is it just an Easter egg? I believe I read something that TGC took inspiration from it when they created sky?
I remember when I started playing, I was all "ooh pretty. So relaxing!" Only to realize how devastating it was the more I paid attention
It's very similar to the environmental tragedies of the real world
It could be a slight reference to Journey, with the characters and all, but it could also be a stylistic drawing of the Ancestor Spirits
That makes sense
The hoods look quite similar and their body shape
A lot of comparisons can be drawn between the Ancestors ruining the kingdom and covering it in darkness and the Skykids have fix it, and the past generations ruining the world and covering it in pollution and the new generation has to fix it
An endless cycle. Born, clearing darkness, Eden, reborn. Rinse and repeat
Not exactly true, we only really have to go to Eden once and the world seems to change
For the story, absolutely. End credits indicate that for sure 💚 I printed off the Google document that was sent me. I feel like I should read it to completion before I continue here. I have so many questions, but they may be answered there.
Printing it? That’s certainly new
Guys
Pulling a religion card here
I'm not religious don't shoot me
Eden in sky
Eden in the bible
Garden of Eden was an oasis
So Eden in sky
Put it together
Eden before it exploded was a massive light crystal
Garden of Eden, Eden in sky
LITERALLYYY this is why im so obsessed w the lore now
Here are my theories and questions about eden.

And yeah, the name for Eden in some languages translates to “original sin” and it was implied to be like a paradise before, so that comparison isn’t far off. My interpretation of it is that the darkstone is the “forbidden fruit” in that analogy, this material that has seemingly limitless potential and helps advance the civilization, but eventually causes its downfall. Unlike the Garden of Eden story, the fall would come much slower and later, but it’s a similar concept
Actually, what I wonder most is WHO ARE THE FALLEN?
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/632004389137154048/798406477042810891/image0-13.png
The netease has told us that those trapped souls are the warriors, but what about the fallen? it has been there in the opening intro.
The fallen ones are the children that we find petrified in pnr as far as I know.
In my opinion, Eden was the name of the entire Sky land, since the mountain’s called the eye/center
In some translation, Eden was also called the heart, which essentially means the center. Just a word
should the bit about skykids say they would be considered canonically non-binary as opposed to trans, since they have no set gender?
I'm more interested in the paragraph in the middle. What kind of soul are we talking about, or rather, whose? Did she get there before us? Could it be the King/Prince?
I think the dev stance is that since they don't state any of the genders ever it's technically up to interpretation but I do agree that this would be better worded
I have my own opinions on that, of course, but we respect tgc staff in this house
I like having physical copies of things
Non-binary is under the trans umbrella, technically
It’s very similar to the Kris nonbinary discourse
At the same time, just because a gender is under the non-binary umbrella does not mean that it is automatically under the trans umbrella as well. See: Intersex.
this is the wrong channel for that
if you need help, ask in #questions-and-help please
if you need to report a bug, click the flame emote at the bottom and the bot will message you
You’re right, I should update it then
Samething with Genderfluid umbrella, just because a character can transform doesn't mean they are automatically genderfluid
I just finished reading the document
I'm not sure where I heard it, but I seem to recall someone mentioning that the winged light we collect has something to do with the first sky kid or the one who brought darkness to the kingdom
It would be interesting if someone could find it, that would be a big revelation!
I believe they referenced the cave of prophecies
one thing I know is that winged lights are referred to as lost memories in the intro
So then when we collect the wl and reach the end of Eden to give the child a hug, it's like we're saving them from their mistakes. Redeeming them
Ayo? Never heard that before, I do remember someone saying that the winged light were places SkyKids visited a lot to the point of leaving a bit of themselves behind
It's my favourite theory so far. Feels very complete
I noticed the document doesn't mention the krill. It's my understanding that they used to be mantas, yes?
that's a common theory but I don't recall if their previous form was ever confirmed
Another theory is that they are corrupted forms of that one species we saw in a trailer for the animation project. ||(give me a sec let me find a photo)||
One of these guys!
I tried to make the document comprehensive enough to feel satisfying, but not too much to feel like a load. It’s a difficult balance
this is what i believe !! it's the little eyeball light that does it for me.
The long cylindrical main body also helps with making comparisons
Does anyone knows the concept design of this is? I just found out while cr in wasteland and I think it's kinda cute that the king wears a dress of sort
In short, the 'turrets'/'king statues' were shown in concept art to represent the King in Wasteland.
Given their supposed use in the concept art, they were possibly used to either defend the kingdom (eden mountain) from attacking creatures (or prevent large creatures from ascending the mountain, hypothetically).
Or used to shoot down ships (for similar reasons as with the creatures)
Both are possible theories for reasons that one can see in the game.
(these are theories gathered from the lore chat, which I cannot recall who particularly I got some details from, while other details are observations I made).
For the turrets downing creatures, the graveyard area is right across from the wasteland temple. It is possible for the creatures' remains we can see there were killed by the turrets, unless the pollution or dark dragons got to them first. Although we have no remains in the battlefield itself. Aurora's season memory was insightful with revealing that many creatures and ancestors lost their lives in the battlefield. Where their remains have gone is a mystery.
Either they were omitted in the video game to avoid not overwhelming younger players with an already decimated battlefield with corpses (be it skeletal or stone statues); or they were taken away by the ancestors after the fact; or the remains could also have been decayed away and buried in the sand.
For the turrets vs boats theory, there are similar evidence we can see in the graveyard. For there are also pieces of what seems to be at most 4 different boats in the area. To give a rough description (I should take a picture to show this better after this), there is one to the left with the winged light, another near the campfire, another somewhere in the middle and to the right (facing the temple), and a boat near the gate to the battlefield that is the least damaged.
Who knows, it is also theoretically debatable for it to be both.
Either case, the King certainly had an ominous presence in Wasteland.
Oh my word....
What if the ancestors were trying to exploit the rebirth cycle to farm larger light creatures with allowing smaller creatures to ascend (since small creatures can pass through the pipeline), while capturing larger light creatures to use their power?
If so, it would make sense in a twisted way. Since larger creatures have more energy/power than smaller ones.
The ancestors could have started with butterflies, but learned how mantas are better due to their size.
They could have been experimenting with larger sizes (as we see in abyss), which lead to them capturing the largest (eldest) creatures for their power.
While this was taking place, not all ancestors were on board with this as we know of ancestors that either opposed the use of darkstone (ex. the mindful miner from aurora, as well as the rejecting voyager from Dawn). As well as ancestors that were more interested in learning about the creatures by bonding with them (warrior of love spirit from aurora as well as light whisperer from flight).
This is just speculation, though. A thought based on pondering on the lore for so long.
If this proves to be plausible, it would possibly explain the conflict with the battle in wasteland. Ancestors that sided with the light creatures. Trying to guide them up to Eden, and other ancestors trying to capture them.
Goodness sake, why does the lore keep leaving more questions than answers...
Y E S
FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT
That would be interesting, but I think there would still be some places that still would keep smaller light creatures such as birds and butterflies for more peaceful purposes
Damn, I saw something
(Bot, I am going to stuff you in a cage for peaceful purposes)
Such as the mantas in abyss' ruins that we release from their tanks. The manta cages. And the Butterfly jars.
Birds though are difficult to look at since the game is oddly hesitant to show us how ancestors interacted with them directly.
Aside from the chime smith and light whisperer from season of flight (with whisperer being implied from the concept art). As well as Dawn.
Sadly, we cannot really use the elder bird since it only made one appearance and has not returned for 3 years
(Bot, for the record)
To assess something is to 'look at' something.
Not the childish word I assume you took.
(being a bit sarcastic, dont mind me)
I think the bird’s purpose is a navigational one, where it simply allowed travelers to know where to go to and have a simple path throughout the kingdom.
Also, considering the term “once, we guided the migrating flocks”, I think the Ancestors mostly peacefully influenced the birds in the early stages
I wonder what the ancestors were meant to do while guiding light creatures to Eden?
What would have happened if a creature gets large enough with enough ascensions?
Was there a reason why the ancestors were interfering with the cycle? Other than greed for power, I wonder?
I doubt it, since that would be way too deep and not nearly enough evidence to support the original theory at this stage.
I think Ancestors (and MAYBE, but it is debated) Skykids participated in the cycle as well
Quite possibly, with the children relatively innocent if they were not aware of their actions while listening to the ancestors.
I like to imagine the TGC lore writers and world builders took inspiration from similar sources as James Cameron with Pandora.
Especially with considering the notions of Megabird and Eywa being similar, that the creatures were seemingly sentient and yet not in a way humans would typically recognise, that there were skypeople and the connections the creatures had with the deity.
That and floating islands. A ridiculously powerful and volatile ore (Unobtainium vs Dark stone).
Sky has had many inspirations, but I’ve never heard of Avatar being one, interesting
It’s made me think about future collabs.
The two collabs, Little Prince and Aurora, had a message that related to Sky. Whether it be Little Prince’s messages of childhood and maturity, or Aurora’s messages of environmentalism.
That’s why I don’t think popular franchises like Genshin Impact, Pokémon, or Disney will ever collaborate with Sky. They don’t have a meaningful message that relates back to the Sky world.
I’ve never watched Studio Ghibli nor played Rain World, so I know very little about those two, but I’ve heard them being wished for collabs a lot.
Studio Ghibli movies very much have an aesthetic and philosophy that would mesh well with Sky
very down to earth, honoring traditions and community, and standing up for yourself and helping others where you can
Ghibli movies are not about heroes, they're about people, about discovery and friendship
I agree with you in regards to large franchises teaming up with TGC.
As tempting and exciting as it would sound, there is an unfortunate dark side that I would think is not worth while for the company to risk falling into.
Mind you, this is just my opinion.
Based on what I read, heard and watched on how TGC was working with Sony for Journey, while the franchise gave TGC a healthy budget and opportunity to showcase their wonderful game. One that went on to win awards and a reputation as on of the best games in 2012. The company had a lot of stress while meeting deadlines. And worse yet, the property of Journey is owned by Sony, which lead to the model of the traveller to be removed at one point in Light Awaits.
The reason why we have it in the current game is because Sony gets a piece of the profit from purchasing the pack, just like Nintendo.
Speaking of which, Sky has a Mario reference, that would count as a collab. Had it not be severly downplayed and overshadowed by the pack's cost and exclusive access.
While it would be cool to see collabs with Disney with fables like Pinnochio, or Peter Pan. I can only assume the legalities, marketing and costs around copyright would be more trouble for the game to showcase. Rather than fans making these connections in their fanart/fanon.
A collab I would find very interesting to see in a hypothetical sense is with Iniko.
A good friend introduced the singer to me with their song, Jericho.
And please do enlighten me on how that song would not fit into this game. ✨
Adding on this thought.
Ghibli's stories typically do not have villains. Any antagonistic character would at times be seen helping the protagonist. And for the protagonist, their role in the story is not to defeat the enemy. But to overcome challenges and reflect on how they changed.
Take Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. Even though we mostly follow her throughout the story, we do get to share in the journeys of other characters she meets.
Spoilers of the film:
||Howl learned to accept the burden of having a heart, the wicked witch got to meet Howl but also to let go of her obsession of his heart to do so. And Sophie eventually got to see the beauty in herself.||
Even with Castle in the Sky or Spirited Away; not everything has to be clearly laid out for the viewer. Instead, the viewer gets to be surprised with the unexpected twists and turns the characters would face. And not only that, but share in the ending with reflecting on the journey they went on. It is the fact that something changed that mattered.
I’m not clicking that big black box
Created an unfinished template for analysing the Shattering poems, I need more people to work on this (can DM me your email if you want): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vEl7IlZUEkzYN4OmQFos5s38S3H1B8S86bKweAiz1EU/edit?usp=drivesdk
Genshin!? No way, if TGC did this, it must led to controversies, ||because some sky players are Genshin anti-fans||
This is less of a controversies and more of people can't accept the fact that it would be TGC choice in the end and if some people don't like it, then they don't like it and shouldn't make a deal out of it
the song constellation (the song aurora sings at the end of eden) doesn't have any actual meaning, does it? i just want to make sure before i make one

Genshin wouldn’t want to collab anyways because Sky has characters with skin tones different from #fffffff which goes against HYV’s standards
Introducing a gacha function for seasonal cosmetics!
No, Aurora confirmed it was more about the feeling of the song than actual lyrics.
it’s ok they won’t know if they only look at some fan art
Yea, Genshin has a horrid problem with whitewashing and making most of their villains fat, which would not mesh well with the many dark-skinned fat characters in Sky. Fandom would say otherwise but
Frankly Genshin doesn’t align with the values of Sky: mutual community support, diversity, respect for other cultures, and nonviolent solutions to problems. A collab is highly unlikely
A fandom somehow far worse than Sky’s, monoculturalism, insane damage machines, power progressions, and that’s only the beginning of the problems relating to a Genshin x Sky collab
Yeah that doesn’t check out
I’m wondering if Sky will ever do a collab in the near future
Because TLP is relatively easy to adapt, and Aurora has already worked with Sky before. I’m wondering if future properties will be as easy or quick to adapt into Sky
That is because they aligned with Sky’s values (Aurora) or inspired Sky (TLP)
I hope the next collabed is warriors cats
There are a bunch of properties I'd love to see work with Sky but many of them are very unlikely.
going to starclan (orbit)
As Smash Mouth said, the years start coming and they don't stop coming 😔
Sky x Gorillaz when, Plastic Beach would work so well
I think tallstar nd dawn should meet
I wanna see a Destiny and Sky collab, but I think because of the nature of the games alone wouldn't mesh well. But a Destiny 2 season is something I entertain the thought of every now and then.
I remember someone writing an interesting collaboration story on Destiny and Sky
I've been working on a Destiny x Sky fanfiction called Little Light that lets me play with the idea but besides that it's just hey that's a cool idea.
You could very well do something with them both associated with light and the Traveler and the Eden Diamond
Lmao that's exactly what I was thinking, where the Light of Sky meshes with the Light of the Traveler. For example the Skykid and Ghost at the center of the story can use the Ghost to recharge her cape because the Ghost uses Solar energy.
I will always hope for a final fantasy xiv collab despite knowing it'll never happen
Oooh Final Fantasy is a cool idea.
it's like. they both have prominent motifs of light and darkness but the way they would interact makes me want to bite things it would be so
Final Fantasy at least has done collabs with other games before
fondly remembers riding a chocobo camel in Assassin's Creed: Origins
but yeah, I frankly don't want to see Sky do a collab with some franchise just because it's currently a popular game
if there are collabs, I want them to fit Sky's philosophy and/or aesthetic
my personal favorites would be Cosmo Sheldrake as a musicial (who does a fantastic job of incorporating bird or whale sounds as basically instruments) or Monument Valley, which is a very pretty little puzzle game and the crows would make a fun little easter egg
Monument Valley!! I like this game and I wish I can pay for it
monument valley collab would be trippy but also super interesting
Is this game suits sky values? It's pretty
Oh my god Gris would make an amazing collaboration!
Listen, GRIS is cool, but Sky x Celeste will always be in my heart
Okay hear me out though. Sky x Splatoon?? 👀
I know absolutely nothing about Splatoon lore, unfortunately.
Although it will be difficult trying to break the giant wall of Nintendo
That would be interesting. Climbing a giant magic mountain. Sky’s tries to kill you, Celeste’s fixes your mental health
I think the people who made journey are making a new game, that might be interesting (and it would make one of my friends explode)
TGC made Journey. Or are you talking about Santa Monica??
i just also realised the king is present on the 3 gates of forest too
talking about Sword of the Sea, which is made by the company Giant Squid that also made Abzu, under Matt Nava who iirc was the Art Director for Journey before that
Ahhh.
DID SOMEONE SAY SKY X DESTINY
I've got one!
Sorry for the detour, but may I ask what real world hairstyle is the default moth one?
Listen that idea is in my head like Savathûn's song! It's primarily the parallels:
The Traveler and the Eden Diamond, the Skykids and Guardians dying and being reborn by their Light, their worlds fell to darkness before the Skykids and Guardians came, exploring a ruined world for answers to defeat the Darkness, and more that doesn't come to mind.
My only main concern...are the try hard Trials players who might complain about Sky.
Trials exist in sky too lol
True.
Zephyr, should I send the link to Langodan’s fic? It’s quite good
Oooh please do! I'd love to read it!
I’ve dmed it
Goodnight, I'm tired
Ngl I kinda want to see a Sky x Fullmetal Alchemist in the science part of the show, mostly because there was morals that overall is a given (Don't mess with nature in ways it never should have been messed with, needless death in a war that never should have been, etc) but that is also unlikely
I have adopted the Netease lore document from apple’s Pages to google doc, making it easier to view and put your ideas or suggestions here.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/107rKIxyCXZxFBaJHxO6hiyW_IRuRbS9iwWJjFLefa_I/edit

Sky x Madoka Magica is always in my heart even though it'll never happen
Holy moly! Thank you! This makes this so much easier for me to visualize ❤️❤️
I am new here. Can anyone tell me why the head of the isle elder isn't on the eden gate
Hi, welcome to the lorechat.
It is unclear in the game and canon lore why the dawn elder is not on the Eden gate.
There has been theories on whether the elder opposed to Eden being sealed off, was retired to even a theory that suggested that the gate itself could be Dawn.
Either case, it is certain that each elder of the realms are needed to allow skykids to enter Eden.
Be it because they are proven worthy, or had to get the elder's blessings, or had to prove to be strong enough is up for debate.
I see...
I think due the cave of prophecies the isle elder knew the danger bought by the prince.
And that is why it is safe from shard eruptions
And devoid of quests 😭
This is extremely interesting. I wonder what the differences are between the NetEase and Global versions…
That’s probably a gameplay thing unfortunately 😭
Isle needs “love” (love as in shard eruptions)
It’s also possible Isle mostly opposed the exploitation of light creatures, since they lived in a society that was very different from the industrial societies of the later realms
What if the krill were once light species
That’s why their eyes are blue and they have abilities to fly? And maybe Eden is really the villain instead
To us above, there are no villains. Light and dark are antagonists to each other, but sometimes they work together
Okay just a sad thought but what if frightened refugee didn’t survive the cave in showed in their memory, but instead they were trapped under there and died. They thought they were okay but they were already dead at that point
It kinda makes sense since the spirits are all dead and awaiting ascension
PLEASE I NEED A MONUMENT VALLEY COLLAB
Hi. New to the server. I was wondering if anyone had any clues as to the 4 spirits seen in the murals around the Isle of Dawn. I myself have had several theories but nothing conclusive. Was wondering if it had been discussed here.
I mean just- what specific mural do you mean?
The ones seen on the normal side of the passage stone and the ones seen in the cave required to go through when starting the game for the first time.
Well I haven't go trough the cave since a while, and I wasn't especially checking th passage stone, but I guess there are some praying ppl? I guess?
I thought that perhaps it was the spirits on the isle. But there are only 3 non seasonal ones so I thought that the miner that appears in the Voyager’s memory could be it but then it would not make sense as they do not have a stone.
@white junco Your time to shine
i’ve been thinking abt this for a while and until tgc gives us more info i’ve been interpreting them as the 3 isle spirits + the other adult spirit in candlemaker’s memory. but it could be a lot of things. for what it’s worth i don’t think they’re the prophets because isle elder and the 4 spirits show up in the prophecy cave and i think they would’ve been detailed if they were supposed to be the prophets
Very true. I also spotted that in the final mural of the Cave of Prophecies that there is the elder in a boat with 4 spirits then another boat beneath them with 2 spirits in. I was thinking that perhaps this boat was the boat with the woman and girl in it as (excluding seasonal spirits) they are the only duo that appear to have a direct connection to each other and both do not have their spirits on the Isle when we play. So I thought that the second boat could be those 2. I also noticed that (again excluding seasonal) there are exactly 7 spirits + the Isle Elder on the Isle which perfectly completes the constellation for the Isle. Just another detail I noticed. I do not know if that rule applies to all areas I only know it works with Isle.
isle elder shows up in the cave?
The among us mural
among us: children of the sus
The day of color is start at next week Wednesday? I show it on the App Store
Has that has been leaked on the app store?
Uh- maybe
And i show it on instagram too
Or is this only can see me? Like error?, then i'll delete
It is not the first time an app store has neglected to release information of an update early.
At least we can all it Days of Colour now, and not Days of Rainbow as its former name from last year.
Also, is this for the live game, or the Netease game?
Its a live version
Then is this truth? I mean the day of color
My bad.
I meant the international version of the game, or the Netease version for Chinese players.
Uh' sorry i dont understand;-; what do you mean?
I just noticed crabs hide from krills, why do you think they do? Also I feel like Krills were made by someone
You're confusing the poor bairn, its for the live
There is the version of the game players can play internationally. And there is a version of the game, Sky, for Chinese players.
Which is called the Netease version at times because it the company that hosts it in China. (unless I am gravely mistaken)
You're correct.
But you're currently overthinking things a tad
If a user was netease, first they'd potentially be Chinese, second they'd automatically know, third they'd not be in korean writing on their device, fourth the netease server stuff rarely gets brought up here
fifth, if the update in the screenshot was meant for the netease game.
That would be an interesting thing for that version in particular (since, as far as I know, that version did not host days of rainbow last year. Nor the year before that).
Yes, your brain is going wild but we see eye to eye, we can legally say days of colour now
agreed 🤝
I feel like this is still in a huge grey area since it's part of an actual update people are getting, but hasn't been said in the server anywhere. Going to stick with rainbow until the announcement, personally
fair enough 👍
I'm looking forward to the new project, it's not even the color days anymore... but the new aspect of the home game etc... can't wait to play the previews before sky global
while you are dreaming of color days I am already dreaming of the new project LOL
ah yes. Avairy.
Am really hoping that the area would be a place TGC may be able to expand on in future events and seasons.
I have not thought it would be possible to see Aviary in-person aside from old screenshots and videos.
Ty for helping me guys
Monument Valley x Sky when? affectionately
gentle hugs
Hi can someone tell me what this channel is about ? Thanks
Basically to talk about the lore of the game, the reason it's spoiler ia because some people prolly haven't finished the game so in order to not spoil the game for them, we talk here.
I mean the lore of the game isn't really out there as a whole yet. The animated series might help with that.
!spoilers
Server spoiler rules have changed. They now only include:
- Beta content is not allowed outside beta channels, even with spoiler tags. (This includes beta content that is not live or not meant to be accessible)
Animated series? What series? I’m really curious now
That doesn't sound like something we can help you with
(Bot I am going to throw you into the ocean)
Look up the animation project on YouTube by TGC
I would have loved to link you the videos, but the bot ate them.
Hi guys. Does anybody have a document about the current consensus on the lore of Sky? I feel like I've got a lot to catch up
ps, it has been ages since I last went here. It kinda feels nostalgic returning here
a series is in the making about the game, it'll be here soon.
Lol it’s oki
thanks for letting me know tho, I had no idea!
Damn that’s siiiiiicckkk
indeed
There are videos about it on the TGC YouTube channel
yo guys have you ever watched the details of the recent seasons?
I mean of course
like say I have theory.
notice the season of aurora depicting stories by songs and emotions.
season of shattering a connection with the dark and light creatures
season of rememberance
the story itself
the restlessness of the spirits to seek peace and comfort.
I did not experience the season of rememberance first hand but what caught my eyes is the details of the season the story how we interact with the spirit.
with that being said notice we have to design a shared space to ease the pain ?
only by then the blue spirit in the stories disappears aka go in peace.
and in sky there's a lot of emotes.
so does this mean that sky's lore is dependent in emotions
the way you connect expressing your feelings to point it was emphasize in the Season of rememberance that if you don't feel at peace the spirit your grieving for doesn't go in peace as well
what does it say when you go out there a find spirits
"relieve the spirit to seek it's memories"
so this means that every spirit we meet in sky is somehow had more story what we see is just a part of what they felt the emote they portray which depends in our interaction as players.
if so there's more story behind a spirit than it actually is which can greatly explain the stories behind the realms
Yeah, this is a good connection. Sky’s lore is dependent on what is called “emotional storytelling”, and this applies to the seasons as well
In trials, when skykids fall into the void, what happens to them?
I like that theory, we have certainly seen spirits from Dreams in each others memories, as well as other spirits from other seasons, so totally agree that their memory isn't their only part of their story, maybe it's the part that is strongest for them, whether that be the one they are most proud of, one that was saddest, or one that made them feel the most cozy.
There are also a bunch of other characters from others memories who we haven't seen as well, whether they were able to ascend before whatever happened to stop spirits being ascended, or if they are in a shutoff realm of Sky that may reopen in a future season.
does someon has minecraft bc im bored
not the right channel, or the server, for that, I'm afraid
ik im just bored so i ask all servers
well, don't do that
It’s sort of like an adrenaline reaction: when you run out of light, you teleport yourself to the nearest shrine. Similar to how humans act differently in extremely dangerous situations.
Ooh so your thinking is reset walls are a Skykid flight or fight reaction, maybe one they can't "control", like the autonomic systems in humans, such as heartrate
While on the topic of the void, what actually is it? Like what’s beneath the clouds and islands? Is that just it?
It’s, well, nothing
Isnt that what sanctuary is? Im pretty sure its below the clouds
Loosely connected but ive been thinking abt this and I think the idea of skykids being able to return to Home through meditation is like oddly really cool,,,
Yeah but the prophecy trials are like. Void
I kinda like to think of them as being like. Being a not quite real space but my headcanons don’t usually line up with the actual canon 😔
Or at least us being in the trials isn’t necessarily like us actually going to the location
Agreeing with Rooty.
It may be best to look for a server that is about minecraft.
Off the top of my head, Turtlecraft is a good server (it has extra steps, but is fairly active.
(your ok to dm for further talk on this, since this is Sky lorechat)
On Void.
I wonder if this is the purest form of Darkness in Sky.
And if so, how is it not a hazard to skykids.
Would it be because the void rooms we visited are memories and thus safe for skykids. While the void in Eden is a true void.
As in, when our skykids arrive there, they are considered children of the dark while a child of light is sitting trapped in the void.
Or, perhaps it is because a skykid is a hybrid of light and dark that allows them to exist in a void.
Either case, this does not seem to make sense. But thought to share the thought process regardless.
I hope TGC may expand on this in the future.

Here is a thought.
If TGC were to make a season or event that shows more farming spirits. What would think Ancestors would be farming?
Rice, wheat, fruits and veggies? Or would they mostly be pescatarians?
I could see them utilizing both food sources tbh
So like cooking? 😮
Yah
I think actual cooking in sky would be cool although i can’t really picture it
Also like i feel like it’d have to have a good reason to. Exist
Imagine this. Season of Feast
Skykids find a festival in the making. Spirits are preparing various events and activities while skykids can help out.
There is a cooking spirit that is munching on a biscuit (emote), while the skykids are tasked to find ingredients for a soup eating contest.
There is a fire-eater spirit (combines the juggler's act, and the macho of the fire prophet) where skykids help them practice by lighting some braziers and fire rings.
There is a tightrope walker spirit that has a fear of heights. Skykids would take them on a flying ride to get them used to the feeling of being so high off the ground. (basically holding their hand and flying slowly with them. Going too fast would make them too scared to progress with the task and prompt you to land for them to regain their senses).
And there are 2 ride operator spirits. One needs help fixing their ferris wheel ride and is an announcer (emote). And the other is a mini game cart operator who lost their mini game items and prizes. Their emote is them demonstrating the mini game (fishing).
For the season finale, the skykids get to enjoy each of the spirits activities to show they work and to fulfil the spirits' wishes of the festival being a success.
Ohhh i love that
Sorry for responding a bit dry but i do rlly think thats a neat idea, if u develop it id love to see
No joke.
That idea just popped up from your comment. Some of the ideas for the spirit were floating around for a while. Was just looking for a way to combine them into a season.
I’m glad i could help you put together that idea then! I gotta go do trials though 💔 i will be back later maybe cus there’s some spirit oc ideas ive had in mind.,,,,,
Maybe TGC could host an event for folks to submit ideas.
While they can warn folks that ideas submitted would be taken into consideration, could be changed/adapted to future ideas and credit would be given as 'fans of the game' instead of a particular person.
I think having ideas for them to use in addition to the ones they already have would be fun.
Prophecy trails?
If so, feel free to dm me for help, if you like to.
Good luck! 🎉
Well we don’t know if the spirits used them but there are crab fishing spots around the map and the bonfire in gw where crabs are being roasted. Perhaps this is why they are aggressive towards skykids?
I would be interested in a fishing season, showing coastal communities and all that
in pre wasteland?? pretty please????
coastal communities are my favorite aesthetic 🫡
But Isle!! Isle fishing season!! (Wasteland would be cool too!
ooh, another meditation campfire for us skykids to see different versions of the same realms would be unique and exciting!
but pre wasteland

i think it would be really interesting to see that happen in wasteland before the corruption, maybe like summertime vibes
one of the quests could be digging up grubs from the sand dunes /j
Prophet cuisine
Finding a campfire in the wasteland and meditating there.
Then we arrive in a lush prairie grass field, where we see marshland, rivers, and the ruin restored.
was actually discussing with a friend where we thought the next passage quests will be and the options left seem to be valley and gw (unless they repeat) which...if we're seeing places like forest how they were in the spirits' time.....then maybe...
i can dream, harold /ref
At the End of the Aurora concert, there is a soldier on the switch to the gates. Were they closing the gates or opening them?
Probably likely closing them, given it’s a siege
Btw tysm for the offer! I left and wasn’t on discord but sorry I didn’t see aaa
Hey so has anyone else noticed there is a hole in the wall behind where the graves are in Tearful Light Miner's cave? Almost like they tried to tunnel out that way to escape.
Possibly.
It was also a place where the water ran down and eroded the back of the cave. It is uncommon for miners to dig in a place where water has gathered or leaked into. Unless they have a reason to do so.
Do you imagine that the cuisine would be different per realm?
Maybe sand-hole cooked meats and vegetables in isle
Fruit salads, maybe mushroom based things in prairie
Rich forest foraged meals with bread, maybe soup in forest
For some reason valley gives me curry and noodles vibes, like a himalayan curry
Crab bbq stew in wasteland obviously
And maybe something soft in vault, like home cooked potatoes, like comfort food you remember from childhood
Fun fact
I recall Khoi San people would at time cook ostrich eggs by burying it in the sand, and make a fire near it.
The heat from the fire would cook the egg in the sand and the portion of one ostrich egg is about as much as two dozen chicken eggs.
Talk about a feast.
24 egg omelette

No, it literally looked like the start of a tunnel. I'm pretty sure water erosion doesn't cause a circular hole only in one spot on a wall and nowhere else.
I'm so glad someone asked this, my take specifically for isle is that, since many people travel through there, it becomes a melting pot of all different types of cuisine and it's glorious
I also believe in forest is mushroom land supremacy as well as that wasteland was an agrarian area similar to prairie before the war
Folks, I discovered steamed milk cakes and am adding this to the list of Granny's foods.
(Also am going to try this recipe to see how good it is)
Ok but me too bc like. This was totally a fixation for me at one point and nobody really talked abt it at the time when it was on my mind 💔
Sky cuisine somehow felt like an unsaid forbidden topic
These ideas rock btw
Omg that looks yummy,,,
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR TAKES ON SKY CUISINE
Omg hi salem!
Hello!!!
I think the realm’s cuisine represent their culture in general.
For example, the upper parts of the Valley of Triumph would prefer simple, easy to prepare food that’s bland but nutritious.
Meanwhile, the lower parts of the Wasteland will have a more complex food scene, with lots more fishing involved and possibly a more vegetarian diet
I don’t remember much but ill see what i can put together! Also i was fighting for my life in splatoon sorry 💔
another splooner in chat
Ik i had a silly idea for a dessert where they’d use light blooms! I was thinking it would look kind of like a weird mushroom-y anmitsu and theyd use a sweet variety of blooms
Kind of like those mushrooms that taste like maple syrup, theyre called candy caps i think?
Out of curiosity, would the fishing industry be pre-war or post-war? I'm struggling to figure out how fishing would be predominant post-war due to the toxic waters.
I don’t remember anything else i made for that off the top of my head but i think it was mostly plant based since most of my worldbuilding was around skykids? I thought it would be kind of weird if they were eating meat
Well its debatable theyd eat at all but for the sake of what i was doing they did
... I always forget the fish
cannoneer method acting
SGDHDFJFJFJ
Definitely pre-war, Wasteland’s food industry would’ve completely collapsed after
Also do yall mind if i spill a spirit oc idea i had,,,,, would like some thoughts on it
My ears have expanded, I love ocs :'>
Yay alr!
So i was thinking that like. The flight spirits mightve rarely had to deal with threats like dark creatures and The Government(?)
So maybe itd be cool if i made a spirit associated with the group who coordinates with the light creatures who live there to scare off potential invaders..,,,,,
They could have a cool staff to direct the creatures too mayb.,,,,, kinda like how isle elder does the Bird Thing
i love this idea omg also the govt being capitalized is very funny to me
That's really interesting, though when you mentioned dark creatures I immediately had flashbacks to the krill rider meme (╯✧▽✧)╯
Oh my god thats great
I think ive seen them before but do u know who the artist is?
Dark dragon government spy drone
Also thank u heehee…..
It's Julius @river yew_moth on Twitter :>
Thank u!
also Bird Thing (TM copyright 20bajillion)
If Sky had a more conventional "ending" to it, what would you guys think it would be?
The Storm is instantly destroyed by throwing a pebble at it and all the spirits come back to life and dance around in circles in a field of flowers
the elders come with you to Eden to help subdue it and then everyone is happily ever after
Bonus points if the king gets revived somehow
I'm curious as to how the game would play out as a multiple ending game. How would the fan base react to a "bad ending" where we slowly see the light getting pushed back. Places like the prairie slowly being corrupted till everything we used to know looks like eden.
You get automatically locked onto the worst ending if you think sky is a dating game
can i choose the green flavoured ending?
Ok
And it’s the only place where we actually get to see the King because they show up then and only then to bonk you over the head with the anti-dating game bat.
Just so u know the name of That Game is filtered
Thank u for noticing the pfp tho heehee
That would be interesting, but more as an alternate, noncanon ending rather than anything official
(In fact, I’ve written a story about that supposed bad end of sky)
Oh wow, mind sharing? No pressure, just very intrigued
Sure, I’ll dm it!
I want to know you guys what are your thoughts in gw? like the whole war that supposed happened there
The existence of a war has been implied ever since the beginning of the game. Notably, there are two types of shields scattered around Wasteland:
A kite shaped shield with a. Diamond symbol
And an octagon shield with a circular symbol
We see these two sides fighting, but for what reason we’re not sure. We know the Wasteland Elder allied with the circular shield side.
there's this theory I once heard before that the elders or particularly forest abused the power of light creating this diamonds that contains it
extracting it so the light creatures becomes dark once hence creating a krill they became hostile
so maybe this is a fight with those who want the best for the creatures and ones who use them
I think so as well, since the circle symbol is used to represent constellations, and diamonds are often used for technology
but later then the war was interrupted by a bigger threat the krills
krills probably don't have a side yes, as we see the fight is taken place with light creatures on each others side not dark
though the battle did continue happening when the krills was present though
i think i recall arrows or spears still flying in the aurora memory in battlefield
but this theory would answer where the dark creatures came from. and what happened between the huge difference of each realms
yes
you could counter claim that they where attempting to hit the krills though, but not as much evidance of that as opposed to trying to hit the woman, that being said loosing an arrow you are not aiming, you are just shooting in that arcs direction
though a spear or a javalin though, that is aiming, some very good javlen throwers back in the day
true. I seriously tried researching for lore in sky but there aren't seem to be defined answers I'm glad I found this chat
and, in the wounded warrior rememberance memory, spears are thrown, and they hit, so there is compitence within an army
noted. thanks for letting me know I'm still kinda new to sky's lore
to be honest, me too, i just chill here every now and then xD
bruuuhhh but the lore is really some to talk about
it's all theorys and headcannons, thats the beauty and its curse
it's has more clear lines to draw than FNAF that's for sure.
The bite of eden 1983
Diamond exploded
Rocks fell
people died
Sad

XDDDDDDDDD
Oh, do you want a document that summarizes it?
oh my god
you have ? gimme

After returning from finals studies, I too would like to witness this lore summary essay
Was speedrunning my Dalies and It like clicked these are the floating platforms seen on the upper floors. Which is what was probably used to get to the upper memory lanterns we see in the 1st image
Obvious when you think about it yet I it’s a nice detail
in the cutscene when you light up the lanterns im 88% sure you can see them dislodging themselves from the ground which i love to watch
holy guacamole??
yeah just like the ones in the 3rd part of the vault some of them moves right? so that would match.
@mental shard @trail hollow
Here it is

thanks :3
This gotta be adressed: is Sky flat or a globe?
There’s quite literally a curve on the horizon so yes, round
What is on the other side of the globe?
earth kids
Definitely globe, most video game worlds operate under that assumption
Imagine if we get a season where we swim accross the ocean and meet earth kids
Who really knows what’s beyond our Sky land?
I like to think that some Ancestors managed to escape the collapse of the kingdom and fled to other lands where they started over.
Perhaps like at Home? I have my theory that Running Wayfarer originally came from a much larger Home
EXACTLY i canon that there's more continents out there that some ancestors were able to escape to and live on, but we'll never be able to discover them
Has this structure, in the Shard Memory, been discussed here in #lore-discussion-spoilers
This is the dark star descending from the upper membrane of the Shard Memory space and above the Shattering Shard, itself.
It has been discussed many times before, and every time the conclusion is that we don't know what that thing is, although its shape is similar to that of an important character that has yet to appear in the game
I wonder where this space would map in relation to Orbit. In any brain, memories map to specific places in the neural set of an organism.
It's in the Eye of Eden, past the point of no return, where all the statues are
The big shattered diamond is the same one from Eden
Or at least that's the place where the event the memory depicts happened, the memory itself is located inside the individual shards
In that case, perhaps we can see a dark star structure someplace as we pass through and beyond Orbit. It used to be easier for me to explore the built environment of Orbit. It seems that TGC has turned up the wind machine. 🌬️ 🎛️ 🎚️
🌬️ 🎛️ 🎚️
The structure is nowhere to be seen in Eden, although it's uncannily similar to the heads of the giant statues in Golden Wasteland, which depict a certain character who has yet to appear in person
if sky kids were light & void hybrid, they wouldn’t die in the fire trial
Holy you are right
Side fanon theory.
What if there were other ancestor races in Sky?
As in humanoid that lived in different regions that affected their appearance and general character.
Similar to the ancestors being nomadic at times and had a life style dependant in technology and magic; these other supposed races could have had different environments to live in.
Take the Yeti as an example of an ancestors variant race that lived in colder regions (who either wear thick coats or have furred bodies) which may imply these artic ancestors were larger in size.
Or what if there was a race living in the woods that were much smaller or stout, were much faster and more dependant on the nature of the woods to survive than technology.
Or a race that lived in the ocean so long, they can hold their breath more efficiently or breath underwater for a short period of time (something like the main character in Waterwold who had gills behind their ears to help breathe but can still breathe air, and has some webbing between their fingers).
Can someone tell me the most believed lore behind Sky?
- Sky is a Game.
- The lore is open to interpretation.
- The characters in Sky (Ancestors, Elders, Skykids) do not have genders.
There are various things that are confirmed in Sky. Though I am personally not sure what is considered the 'most believed' lore behind Sky.
This has the most basic summary: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
what is considered 'the most believed' lore may vary from person to person
but the general gist that can be gleaned from various points in the game seems to be that
- the ancestors found a material (called Dark Stone - I believe that term may be derived from concept art) that can be used as a sort of battery for light to power their structures
- they developed processes in which they can gather light from light creatures (first probably only gathering light shed by light creatures, then, later, extracting light directly from captured light creatures as mantas)
- there was a conflict within the kingdom - most likely somewhere between a worker's strike and a civial war, or perhaps both at once - though the exact point in time is uncertain
- at some point, these factors - environmental exploitation and possibly the conflict as well - has lead to the spread of darkness and corruption
- what exactly the original purpose of the Eden diamond was is unclear, but it is very clear that is has factured and shattered at some point, and that alone was a disastrous event
- most of the ancestor spirits that we meet have probably died as a direct result of this conflicts, the darkness polution, or the Eden shattering (or possible consequences, such as being cut off from supplies)
- scenes and murals in the isle hint at what may be the first Skykid that landed in the kingdom, and a sort of 'Chosen One' figure that has been revered and/or prophecized - possibly both being the same
- a mural in Eden shows a large figure with a crown, being revered by the people, possibly the Kingdom's ruler
- (furthermore, largely based on old concept art, people theorize that this Skykid might have ascended to be the kingdom's Prince/King and been corrupted by darkness, leading to many of these disastrous events. I think it's been hinted at that the King is still in the story, but their role has changed)
I personally believe that the King may have even been directly related with the Diamond as well. In the earlier versions, there was a place in the later stage of the Eye of Eden called the King’s Spear. That either means the King had something to do with it, or some other entity called it that either in reverence of the King or to make it a taboo landmark to others.
WE MUST DISCUSS OF THIS! (Art by marion)
You can talk about it with other people in #sky-fanart-sketches-and-art-chat maybe, but this channel is only for used for content in game, not fanmade work
Excuse me, is there any content or file about the Eden Elder?
the fandom call them King, right?
I'm new here and i've got a lot to read
Basic lore doc but for rundown for the king
King/prince is their fannon name from concept art. We think this figure is the one seen the final prophecy mural, eden mural, vault cutscene mural, wasteland statues near the temple, and the final shattering memory with the elders. But physically they have never appeared ingame with their own model, that’s really all that is about them. There’s nothing about how they are as a charater or what their motives are sadly.
They’re in this weird limbo state in the story basically
i also think they on the gates in the forest, it adorns the top
the pale king
Hi
Nuh uh
🤨
if you want to start a conversation, more than just a 'hi' might be helpful
You're welcome to discuss this in the fanart channel!
ngl because i feel this was the right channel to ask. I was reviving some spirits memory out of fun and when i did the "come here" spirit (i forgor the name) it implies that us skyddos are fallen stars? and we are supposed to be higher right?
Man what even are the krill
Darkness incarnate?
Or guardians like the ones in journey
krill are corrupted of something else, but we don't know what they were before they became corrupted
I wonder what a not dead corrupted sky kid would be like
probably the first sky kid, idk
Sky Theory:
The whole Sky universe was created off the corpse of a dead goddess.
You mean… Megabird? Aren’t they still living?
Living?
You're telling me that when we zoom out of the universe in Orbit, and we see that GIANT UNMOVING BIRD SHAPED GROUP OF STARS, that's a living thing?
stop the cap
how do we know they're not just far away light cannot travel instantly
Doesn’t megabird like like up at the end of the credit scene too?
I would consider Megabird more like a force of nature
Does a cosmos of stars and memories really need to be 'alive'?
^^^^^
To me Megabird seems like a being made of all the light that has existed and ever will exist, light incarnate with the collective memories and consciousness of all the spirits that make it up. so living might not be the right word for it, but calling it a corpse doesn’t seem right either
something that never has been alive (as we understand it) cannot ever die (as we understand it)
Yaya i can see that!
sure, a star can die in a supernova, but does that mean it has been alive? does a dead star leave behind a corpse?
it is still stardust
It does.
Either as a core that collapsed and would cool down, become a neutron star, become star dust if it exploded in a supernova, or even become a black hole
..wait, would megabird explain why Aurora's dress turns yellow when we go to Orbit during the concert?
yes.
In my observation, Aurora represents megabird.
With the blue and gold dress especially, as well as with flying with us skykids to Orbit
Lol i think the dress turning yellow is like, the least distinctive thing about that transformation
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO
this one's interesting I root for this one too
Are stars alive or dead?
Do they have to be either of these things?
Dead stars don’t emit light so
reminds me physics lessons flashbacks
"Eventually the cycle of star birth and death will come to an end. Gravity will have won, a victory delayed by the ability of stars to call on the resources of nuclear fusion. But ultimately, gravity will reduce all stars to a super-dense state as black holes, neutron stars or cold white dwarfs." https://www.rmg.co.uk/stories/topics/what-happens-when-all-stars-die
"For the most part, the stars you see with the naked eye (that is, without a telescope) are still alive. These stars are usually no more than about 10,000 light years away, so the light we see left them about 10,000 years ago." https://metafact.io/factchecks/23-are-the-stars-we-see-in-the-sky-actually-dead
Probably a reference?
pitch black?
Hello. Could this statue be wearing a stylized King mask?
It is possible that the statues could have once been a placeholder model for the valley elders.
However, this pure hypothetical as I do not have any evidence to confirm this .
that's more likely one of the Valley Elder(s)
Yeah since those are only found in valley, plus the spike on the mask like what
has, it’s definitely based off the twins
That makes more sense
Why does Sah have a knife
Stick actually! In their orbit cutscene both twins hold a stick of sorts which I assume is the base of their paddles, using light to made said paddles im guessing
Can see it with Mekh here, same length as what their paddle would be in their regular cutscene
Days of Color is coming! Instead of regular rainbows, we get dark rainbows
finally cosmetics for the evil gays
Soon we will match the fruitiness of the King /j
we’ll be the fruitiest people on the block

Also Happy Tsadi Tuesday! (So we don’t forget again) Sparkle on, and don’t forget to be yourself! ✨ 💅
When we skykid fall into oblivion in trials, do we just die? And what teleports us back to the checkpoint?
Or is that just made for the sake of gameplay and irl skykids are perfect and just complete everything in one go lmao
I like to think it’s game mechanics. But since we meditate I like to think we’re just in a state in the trials mentally, so if we fall it just resets but that’s pure headcannon for me
I think it's like adrenaline: when you fall, you teleport yourself to the nearest shrine. Similar to how humans act differently in extremely dangerous situations.
Game mechanics can work with the lore, not against it.
I like to think the Prophets pick us up and carry us back to our last checkpoint. In the case of the Earth and Air Trials, they’re like how Lakitu saves you and brings you back to the track if you fall off in Mario Kart. And in Water and Fire they perform resuscitation by dumping some kind of flammable liquid on us and lighting it on fire for maximum recharge power.
Gasoline
I personally believe it’s just a function of the trials themselves; I agree with Tac that the trials are a separate mental-space accessed by meditation and don’t pose a threat to our real-life safety
I heard somewhere that there used to be a mural that depicted the trials before the Prince came, with Ancestors' corpses littering at the bottom of trials
it's still there – the murals on the ceiling of the Cave of Prophecies. you may have to go to some braziers on floating rocks to light some of those murals, but they're all there
That's scary, in my headcannon I'd like to think that skykids get the easy treatment by the megabird while ancestors die during the trials haha
Let’s hope that they’re just injured/defeated, not entirely dead
“Help! I’ve fallen off the ground and i can’t get up!”
While doing Season of the Prince, I thought he was a a spirit at first because everyone in the realm are fallen or already a spirit, but little did I know that he actually wasn't, finally finishing the final quest of the season, I just found out he was alive and well, yet, something is bugging me, if he WAS alive while we met him, why are the others are... Well, fallen? Which begs the question, how did he survive the rise of the darkness? Was he with his rose on the other planet? It just keeps bugging me,
Tbh, I don't have any good/fair answers to my own question, maybe I'm just trippin'
I don't think the The Little Prince is an ancestor like the rest
Just looking at the dreamlike state of the entire Starlight Desert and parts of the vault, I like the theory that the desert and a number of elements in there, including the rose and the prince, are just figments of a story, a tale, that have come 'alive' from leaking memory lanterns
That's rather a good answer, only us, the descendants are alive after the darkness taking over the world of sky, which I was very confused why he was alive in the first place, but that also maybe answer how he could talk (Aside from Aurora)
But I do think that starlight desert can be a separate reality from our own
Plus— Knowing that The Little Prince is from a tale, I actually like to make a headcanon that all the scenario that happened throughout our journey with the prince is nothing but a pile of our child-like imagination, a imagination created by our own mind in such a lonely and empty world where no human (sky people) beings are alive but only us
Spirits can presumably talk with Skykids, with the season guides and Aurora
No like, those pop out messages
Nah there's more stakes if you have the chance to truly die in trials
It's to select the prince/king of the Sky world, after all
Hey hey lorechat may I ask sumth
I know we have mekh that's valley dora hair twin and resh whod be the eden king, but what are the names for the rest of them?
There’s actually many names for it:
The Elders have names based off Hebrew letters from concept development that are no longer canon, though the fandom sometimes refers to them as such:
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (They share a name. Though fandom often calls one ‘Sah’ and the other ‘Mekh’ to differentiate)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
It seems the devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent:
Isle – Dawn
Prairie – Day or Daylight
Forest – Rain
Valley – Sunset
Wasteland – Dusk
Vault – Night
Oooh okay tysmmmm
Addendum: Eden Elder would be “Storm”
for some reason i got the hc that every kid born on isle until they find the chosen one would have to do the trials at some point. bc the prophecy says it’s going to be a kid born there and they gotta find them, right? so in my hc it wouldn’t make sense for them to actually die, or else that would obviously be bad and cruel. but it’s always possible that something could go wrong, i think the meditation space and everything in it would feel real so it could still be quite painful and scary.
also, i imagine falling into the void would feel like when you’re about to fall asleep then you think you’re falling so you wake up. lol
I have a silly headcanon that while yes, the Trials were part of the prophecy, they were also like challenge courses for the kids who wanted to try their hand at it. If you complete a Trial or at least get past a certain point, then you get a cool prize and bragging rights. If you don't, well the Prophets will offer you snacks and cookies and tell you to come back next week if you want to try again. Basically the Chosen One was just really good at parkour.
So that’s why the kingdom fell apart eventually
Strange parkour contests for kids are no basis for a system of government
/ref
Only the most parkouriest may have the power of light
Sky Theory:
uuuuuhhhh...office
Exists in canon as much as my morality
The power of light is actually really cool looking light-up Skechers, and you become the drippiest kid on the block. 😎
This shows sky is just a simulation of something
But in my sky ficverse, it doesn't exist bc my sky world is considered to be an existing world
If he made a video about sky i would disintegrate and die
It would simultaneously be funny and horrifying
Not entirely wrong, given what we see in the Treasure Reef
I wonder how carnivorous are Skykids actually..
None, they don’t seem to eat in the same way we do
manta no
Yum yum yum manta yes 😈
Why when you use the maskless mask, there is no face..
There is a face. They have eyelashes.
Either that or angry eyes
forbidden smoothie
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Really? I thought it was a parallel between our dimensions that allowed minimal contact with Earth. Is it just a veiled metaphor?
Office seems to be a non-canon easter egg that represents a secret bonus for beta testers
Skids with teeth
i thought skids didn't have any?
Splitchip is merely invoking horrific imagery
Yes I am! >:3
seems like splitchip behavior
HELLO INTERNET, WELCOME TO SKY THEORY!
Where I can talk like a crazy person about a damn smol bab game
Not exactly lore or spoler, but is it possible that the dust in the valley of triumph alternates between snow/ice and sand/glass? Some reason, when i'm in flying race, everything looks more blue.
I used to think the stuff in Valley was the latter (sand/glass) as a moth lmao
Might just be lighting
I thought Valley was a hot sandy desert till all the ice dawned on me. Now I'm just confused.
Idk if this means anything but I find it very intersting a flight post is on the very top of this mini area for the seasonal area wayy up top
OUGH thinking directional wise thought would be in the general area to sanctuary where one of the wind tunnels would be, probably unlikely but this is neat detail
@rigid prism
For me, only the portal connects the reality and the sky world
btw the one you tagged is “In my sky ficverse...”
Hi Lorechat, just wondering what ya'lls take are on oobs, and how they fit within sky, or how they dont fit within sky. Curious to know ^^
they shouldn't be considered canon because there's a reason they're not accessible in regular play
they're just a product, an accident and side effect of game development
OOBs that are easily accessed such as the Mount Fuji one in Isle and the Flying Race Cloud City could be considered canon, since they’re just ways to visit a place that already exists in the background.
However, OOBs accessed by glitches are not, since glitches themselves are non-canon.
Going out of bounds in TGC's games has always been recognised as players witnessing or stumbling across something the devs would not intend to show. As this not only breaks immersion and is typically avoided in video game design and development. Unless it is done intentionally to treat players to some additional content. Such as an example, in Ratchet and Clank 2/3, Insomnia studios have added secret 'warps/doors' the player can access if they have done something specific to reveal them (ex. playing the game at 3am). Which lead to a 'dev room' that featured behind the scenes videos, scrapped creatures, weapons etc.
In Journey, going out of bounds has figuratively and literally gave players a 'behind the scenes' look at how parts of the game works (namely where the guardians would wait between triggered events). This also gave players an opportunity to discover hidden assets of the game. Be it a scrapped feature, or a placeholder item.
In Sky, the idea of going out of bounds has presented interesting situations that has history from both the devs and players.
Namely, when the rainbow bridge was discovered by players, they found it as a cool secret place to hang out at and show to friends. When the devs removed it, a lot of players complained. Which lead to the rainbow bridge being added back.
This can be one of many examples where going out of bounds is not outright encouraged (hence using windwalls), but allowed when a player proves to be determined or skilled enough to access them.
Other notable OOBs are the Valley of Triumph "Starlight Memorial" (OOB coliseum), the top of the Day temple, the top of the trees in Forest, The whale under the forest cave, the buildings above the flying race, and the false wasteland temple (from the shipwreck/crabfield area).
In short, OOBs are recognised that they can break immersion in the video game, though may make use of any lore evidence they provide and can give new information on the lore,
Fascinating stuff, I always assumed regardless whether it was cannon or not, It was still a part of the game Irrespective of its intentionality. Its fun to see all of the world sky has to offer, even the stuff not meant to be seen XD. But yes, these are amazing answers that have bought some clarity to a debate a friend of mine are having. Thank you so much
You are welcome.
Canon lore in sky may be difficult to establish without concrete evidence.
More so when considering this quote from various mods (Joshi, Alexdolly, Miri, Seraph) : "Sky lore is open to interpretation"
Also, from a dev, ktjn: "We want players to tap into their sense of discovery and leave things open to interpretation. "
#beta-discussion message
That said, when it comes to lore in general, there is a lot of leeway to what can be talked about in Sky.
Thats whats really amazing about it. The world of sky can speak for itself in more ways than one. Which can make it quite timeless in a way, since it can be open to so much interpretation ^^
Hey! Wanted to make a theory here because I don't know if anyone has talked about it yet, but what if the king was built as a giant mass of light compact into a small body and sent down , but ultimately being very easy to corrupt because darkness and light are fighting for space, so after the fall of Eden, sky kids follow a similar formula but with a smaller portions
Admittedly I don't have any clear proof nor fully flashed this out, it was a strong idea I had and wanted to know what others think😅
could link this to skykids being akin to stars.
And a dying star can have colossal consequences.
Could probably explain why the king is so massive to..
Maybe the pressure of being king is like gravity and his sanity is the fuel, he just runs out and explodes..?
[3rd passage quest spoilers]
||Is tumbling troublemaker missing from the night passage stone area after the 3rd quest? My friend and I can't find them after we finished the cutscenes....could the 4th quest be specific to them? Sorry I just miss them :'(||
||They are missing in action as it seems. lol, poor fella was causing trouble and the guide scoulded them. I do hope we can find them in the last quest.||
||I actually found them in the map! Odds are, there was a glitch and their model was accidentally tossed up here, haha||
||How on earth!?||
||Lol, fella took being grounded to rebellious new heights. XD||
Oh!!! Also!
But you’re able to get up on the top of the Day Temple. There are two different WLs there.
The top of the Prairie temple isn't an OOB, since there aren't any windwalls(or walls in general) protecting it.
Ah, I meant the top of the day temple, as in when you are in the temple, and then go up the hole in the roof.
That was once considered in bounds as skykids would take flight towards the forest and transition to there. When the forest got a social area added in, the warp for the area was moved to at the exit of the day temple.
Which made the top of the temple in that area considered out of bounds.
All that remained up there is a chat bench and a boat.
Potential spoilers for the new season quest?? Not sure, it doesn’t detail anything that happens in it, just a detail I noticed in the background
||While I was waiting for the new season quest to start I was looking around a bit and noticed.||
||Eden isn't there. No castle figure, nothing. I even tried long honking and no silhouette showed up so it was completely removed.||
||So these passages are definitely something that happened a long time ago, maybe even before the Trials?||
||Not to mention, the Light going up into the sky looks. Different.||
||You would think that the Castle would at least be built and we'd be able to see it, but. Nothing.||
||That is interesting (and appreciate the spoiler tags since the new quest started today. Give it a day and usually spoiler tagging it would be not needed afterwards)||
||I also noticed the moon or eclipse is different in this quest compared to earlier ones. Either the last quest could be a full moon, or the eclipse passed.||
I wondered about the elder scenes. I wonder if there is a reason why the elder scenes are darkened. Would they be at night, or during an eclipse? Or even in a time where there was no sun (time of darkness).
See, with that, I think that they could be in their own little voids similar to the Prince's(Child of Light in Eden) but closer to the real world, in a sense? Since we know that they can still interact with the world around us, even if in a limited way(opening doors, activating mechanisms, etc.)
They were all in the same blast at the Crystal, after all. It could very well be that they were less affected by it than the King due to being Stars.
We at least know that we need the elder's blessings to get Eden open.
That is one small moment where they have control in the physical world.
It is a bit of a shame how the elders are supposed to be this powerful, and yet ironically have so little control of their realms.
They pretty much died when the diamond ‘sploded, right in their faces I may add. No wonder they’re so weak.
^^^^^
This is my own theory here, but....
The Crystal seems to have been a darkstone construct that housed a lot of energy, and because of it becoming unstable, it just very suddenly expelled that energy and began constantly pulling Light from its surroundings as a result. Always needing more to keep itself powered.
It's definitely scary how it managed to do that to the Elders. (Pulling from my own interpretation again here admittedly)Being Stars, they were likely the next closest thing to Megabird.
Though from what I've heard, and I may be misinformed, but as far as I'm aware the Elders aren't....dead, per se? Maybe more comparable to a limbo-like state
sneezing geographer's memory shows creatures moving towards the light at the top of the mountain, that may have been where they ascended to continue the light cycle
I think it was Salem who had a theory that all of the shattering memories are puzzle pieces of the moment of shattering that, if arranged correctly, show the disaster fully
......Totally not imagining the Krill all ambushing the Elders & King as the Crystal exploded. Totally.
worth noting they may not have been in the same space
Man though the image that puts in my head. The Krill are(as far as I know) drawn to Light and with seven Elders (plus the Crystal) all in the same spot......that's a lot of Light
(let me rephrase that)
I'd by hangry too if I was a Light diet
(context for those who dont know. The krill canonically hunger for Light, as how it was stated in the daily messages in the game).
No, I think you preaty much got everything right👍
People can always split hair about the details, but this is preaty in general the canon version of things
(I've been saying something similar for some time)
I havent gotten to this part yet, but man how I wish (what you wrote) is true
Just imagine the lore inplications
i have a theory: the sky kids are actually birds
-
we can imitate the calls of other animals like how birds have different calls
-
our future home is called the aviary. and what is an aviary? a home for birds.
mind. blown.
I remember that originally during light awaits, capes in sky were going to be much more detailed with them looking like feathers. Unfortunately, the detail was discarded in favor of performance, but that still goes to show that skykids being compared to birds is by no means an accident.
||That’s extremely weird, the Eden mountain not existing makes little sense. Maybe it’s a glitch?||
||I could see passage taking place before the explosion ngl||
||But the mountain itself has existed for a long time, you can see from the Switch Trailer||
||you can still see the mountain||
||You’re right, it just seems obscured by clouds||
||I think it took place around/after Prophecy||
||mountains do that||
||must be a mountain thing||
||If it is obscured by clouds then it'll be around aurora concert time frame too||
||It might also be because it’s so dark and the beam is somewhat dim; the low visibility and cloud cover make it quite hard to pick out any silhouettes within||
Correct me if I’m wrong but ||isn’t Eden at least somewhat obscured by clouds most of the time?||
||it is true that there's no parhelion though which is very suspect||
||I’m really curious to see if this is a timeline thing or if there’s something else going on (like it being night and the mountain being far away so appearing dimmer) because I could see either option. I hope we get to see more Eden snapshots during passage because afaik this is the only glance we get of it.
I also noticed there are no stars in the sky at all, it’s just empty.||
forgot to spoiler the imwges 😔 I don’t have time to fix as I have to go, I hope it’s fine
Why are the krills just in gw? (I get that it would be chaos if moths got body slammed whilst frolicking in prarie) but is there like a story behind it?
they're in GW and in the Eye of Eden, to be exact
they seem to exist in spaces with large amounts of darkness - whether they're drawn there or that's where they can survive the best or are 'born' (corrupted) there
Like to think they’re trapped and can’t expand because of the cyclone, it just sucks you in and you can’t get out
||is this passage quest?||
|| What if the diamond has just started absorbing the light and the stars?||
||That would be interesting, and explain the complete lack of stars||

So the antennae were the "eyes" all along
Write that down lorefans!
📚 📚 📚 📝
you nearly got me to spit out my snacks. That is absolutely adorable!
on a serious note, I wonder if the horns/antenea would be able to help krill sense light creatures.
If so, then that would at least justify them attacking darkened skykids. Since they still have light in them, its just not visible since they got the daylights knocked out of them.
My bad I got hungry
so you're telling me that krills are like rudoplh the reindeer, but mean and spikey? (sorry for the ping btw)
Pings fine, seems so, now I'm imagining the krill with boggle eyes, but they're on the end of the antennae
lol. Would this be the reincarnation of the bug eyed krill?
goodness gracious me.
Talk about having Eye-stalks
"You got any games on your phone"
Snill

happy gay month lore chatters
Wait...
If the eyes are on the end of the stalks, what's the glowing blue orb? it obv projects a searchlight, so is it actually just a light projector?
would it be safe to remove the blue orb from a krill just so you can make spotlights?
i'm sorry folks
Motion sensor maybe?
I want to see how it reacts to a laser pointer
I'd hate to interrupt the convo rn but can I ask on what is the animal for Dismiss' mask?
dismiss? in my heart I believe it's a fish (because of one Tumblr post I saw) but I don't know if that's correct
In terms of lore, what exactly is Eden?
So I checked the tumblr lore blog, basically, one of the first stars (children of the light) gained power, compressed dark plants into a resin that absorbed light which could be converted to energy, and then tried to lift up an entire city (based in eden) back up to ascension. the giant resin star that lifted up the city exploded from overloading energy, and the elders trapped the first star in the giant resin because he did something bad, and his rage fills eden to this very day
(brief recap, correct me if i'm wrong)
Oh awesome. That’s a lot more intricate than I would have expected. Thank you so much!! 🙏
what Tumblr blog is your source for this? / what sources do they use?
yeah that's a great theory, but it sounds like mostly that - a theory
the game doesn't give enough concrete details like that as evidence
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories
https://sky-lore.tumblr.com/post/653913306309033985/jikatuka-you-asked-for-it-and-you-shall/amp
this is just what i found -- sorry if it has misleading info
I'm sure there are sources tho
Also the concept artist, tom zhao has a timeline of this
Eden was once a city, most likely the seat of the kingdom's rulership, and possibly also a sort of holy center
the Eden diamond is sitting at its core, tho what exactly the purpose of the diamond was is not certain
it's most likely that the explosion of the diamond is what has ripped part of the mountain out of its base and flung it into orbit, and is still causing the storm the skykids have to fight through
it's worth noting that original concept arts pictured the corrupted King as a sort of final boss at the peak of the Eye of Eden, but that has obviously been changed
purposefully so, most likely
I like the idea that the king made the diamond in an attempt to return to the stars. Poor guy just wanted to go home, and in a way, I suppose maybe he sort of did
With the roll emote and a "king" boss fight we are a step closer to be a soul like game
Sky having a dark souls combat and theme would be sooooo bad but still extremely funny
Not really if you believe the King got trapped in the Void of Shattering...
i like to believe the figure we unite with after dying in eden is a sort of fragment of him, from when he was the prince and presumably uncorrupted
Interesting how we see a re-enactment of that in the final Shattering memory
you refer to the winged light in that one having the glowing figure sitting down if i recall right?
I don't believe so, it was on top of the red diamond and the two were standing and hugging
then i maybe misremember idk
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Here's an image
oh i was just misremebering the pose of the light figures then
Is there a higher res version of that visual timeline? I can't really make out details
I was able to go once, now I can’t because of the wind.
I wonder if this is their their king’s castle?
where exactly is that
its an oob that can be accessed from shipwreck/crab fields if I remember correctly
though I'm not sure if the old method to remove the wind wall still works
Ahhh okay tyty
You guys think Season of Passage takes place before Eden was built? or before the great cataclysm
Personally i think it takes place after Eden was built considering unlike the era depicted during the animation teaser, Isle of Dawn has already become deserted
How I See Lore: (This is NOT Accurate at all and I could miss Possibly EVERYTHING.)
There we're Elders and spirits. Elders created Eden. Something happened to Eden (As In Cataclysm), It Got Uncontrollable, Shattered and it started corrupting the World With Its Shards. It Then Either Created Krills/Corrupted Krills And Then Possibly Infected King Krill (Or He Was Evil From The Beginning) Who Elders Locked Up In Treasure Reef. People Wanted to Stop Eden (And Failed Multiple times) But Elders Got Absolutely Fake (As In Death) While Trying to Stop The Diamond (But Only Thr First Two) While The Other 3 Just...Gotten Fake Overtime? The Rest Of People Also Gotten Fake. For Short, World Died. Then Skykids Appeared And The Game Happened.
Anyone wonder what made sky fall apart into darkness like this?
Did the ancestors also have to die and reborn?
Why do all of them only have one winged light?
What are winged light? Did they still exist back in the happy days?
Are winged light people sacrificing themselves? Maybe they knew darkness would come and before came to a light spot to help future sky kids?
What if Eden ruler wanted to rule the world, frustrated that the people could live peacefully without a ruler? So he brought war over them, and used darkness to fight the light? Krill’s we’re loyal servants that the ruler gave power to become something much stronger, and they were able to live??
In short:
Not exactly, but there are some clues.
Yes, we see them in Orbit.
It appears to be a glitch.
They probably didn’t.
Who knows, Sky lore is up to interpretation
Sorry, I’m short on time
Thank you oh wise one

What is the lore behind shiny boys?
Can be dead skids trapped in Eden, I guess
are we zombies?
???? only in the sense that we come back to life after dying, lol
Also last time I checked skids don’t have physical brains, but are still animated in some way shape or form
no thoughts, head empty /ref
In my headcannon the shiny bois are the King's fragments of light, after having his light blasted the hell out of him in the Eden exlosion, leaving fragments of himself scattered across the kingdom.
Winged lights are also known as Lost Memories (or forgottten memories?)
The halo of winged lights also have the shape of the king's symbol so I'm super convinced of this theory
Ohhhhhh that actually makes sense
I used to think that they are us like sky kids cause some of them tried to finish eden but lost their light and got petrified in the way and those we find in realms got lost and we now lead them with us to heaven that's why we lose all our wings once we get there cause we free them all
can we think of a reason why there's skid statues in point of no return area?
This is actually quite accurate -- notice that the spirit memory of the ushering stargazer ( i think ) contains the depiction of a star landing on the isle of dawn, which appears to be a child of light. but this might not be the child of light, and is the prince. therefore, the prince must be connected to the winged lights somehow.
"... a small child, similar to the children of light scattered actoss the realms, just that without their golden glow."
Might not be direct evidence but is something
There's this one theory where the shiny boys might actually be fragments of the corrupted king
This scene made me curious about how marriage and divorce work in Sky
Like, is there no contractual obligation? You can just take the kids and leave?
They don’t have rings, or at least all evidence of rings are lost
The Valley Elders rule over that domain /ref
wedding rings aren't necessarily a universal thing in all cultures (aside from the fact that Sky's level of detail might just not have much room for fine jewelry like that)
even with marriage contracts and whatever, someone could be 'I'm going to take the kids and stay the weekend at my sister's place' after a fight
contractual obligations is not necessarily the first thing people have on their mind in matters of a personal relationship
I think in whatever culture these ancestors lived, societal expectations from your peers and neighbors might be more of a concern than wedding vows
but then again, I think a parent and caretaker of two children would probably easily find support, rather than scorn, for trying to keep their kids safe
which spirit is this ? i forget shajdjd
Slouching Soldier from the Season of the Little Prince, found inside the big pot the Starlight Desert
Maybe like lighting eachother up, doing the friend button and then….||going to Eden together😏|| or maybe ||giving out a special source of light, maybe colored light or something like that|| I don’t think they would’ve used jewerelly to showcase their relationships.
This got me thinking. Jewelry is commonly used to represent a lot of things like status, hierarchy, wealth, etc. (Or at least my studies of ancient history led me to believe). Though, do we see many jewels in the sky universe? Isn’t it just dark stones? I wonder if sky has any other precious stones. They do use some sort of gold like substance for the statues in valley temple, though that could just be a golden-ish paint.
True they have gold and darkstone refined into diamonds but not sure if there’s anything else
The necklace for this season isn’t gold tho. Maybe somehow silver of white gold or some other metal?
(Could just be a design choice but the lore! The lore!)
It’s also interesting that they found out about the dark stone. Did they always know about it’s properties or was it just another rock for a long time? I assume that it was just too hard to find at first, especially if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
Could be multiple materials melted together
Also: instruments. Presumably some of those need metal
And brass too? Or can brass instruments be made of different material?
I have no idea.
Tho not all cosmetics are probably canon pieces. Like headphones. Unless those have no function in the canon of the game setting and sky kids just find it fashionable lmao
Funky earmuffs
There is a way to do it still (unless a recent update patched it)
Feel free to dm me if you like to try it.
I thought the castle is what we see in Eden? That could be a fortress maybe?
These statues passed in after Eden area- are they holding power diamonds? Also, the one on the right has almost some sorta circle and + shaped thing on its back?? Idk shape on the fortress picture I just replied to reminds me of it
my theory is that they were at the forefront of the eden explosion/disaster. they are just like any other spirit in game however they have no light/soul. when you relive a spirits memory there’s an orb in them and a floating light you follow. this is their light/soul. sky kids also have souls in them as seen with the little white oval on our chest. the people who were close to the eden crystal had their light/soul stripped away. this is why we have to save them by giving them our winged light, to give them a new “soul”. the winged light we give them is much more powerful than the light that spirits have, which is why it allows the statues in pnr to break free at the end. (this is also why sky kids can fly and spirits cannot) but that’s just my interpretation
i wanna see lore chat make an entire lore filled story based on something that just there for game mechanics i think that would be a fun challenge
like tell me the lore as to why the spirits travel home to give us their clothes
tell me the story as to why sky kids have to learn expressions from the memories
tell me the lore behind the settings icon

Welp, there is a lot of history and a lot of theories in lorechat.
Ranging from scientific studies of gravity, mass and aerodynamics; to hypothetical fanon that takes creative liberties. Each of these are valid in their own terms, including ones that are based on game mechanics.
To respond on your question on why ancestors spirits visit skykids at home to trade their cosmetics (capes, clothing accesories and emotes).
It is possible that these cosmetics could link skykids to the ancestors more, as a way of bounding with the ancestors, or as a legacy to their fallen civilisation.
While the ancestors may not be alive and their culture all but wiped out. At least with the skykids, a piece of their history can live on.
Especially with the skykids' innate ability to summon physical objects out of thin air.
How and why they are able to do so, is very much up for debate and/or interpretation.
Why did ancestors visit sky kids because they know sky kids candles' are the easiest thing to earn (just joking
I think there's a difference between expressions (something used by the skykids in the lore) and the UI (something completely inaccessible by the Skykids)
nah we are birds
ooh ok
I don't know if we're either
idk if its confirmed but its my theory:
we can fly
we have wings
we can imitate calls of other animals
(dont quote me on this one) in an old preview of capes or smth they had feathered textures but it was scrapped due to popularity but im not sure on that one
i think we are evolved birds
maybe the reason we are so different from the spirits is because we migrated from a different planet or something? when we restart the game we come as some kind of star falling
plus ||our (coming) home is called an aviary, and an aviary is a home for birds||
the capes were scrapped because of performance issues
Yeah Ig with technology tgc had found ways to make more detailed capes now without impacting performance as badly (passage guides one for example)
They’re really pretty but not everyone would’ve had the latest phones with the up to date tech to smoothly run everything
wowwwww thats pretty
But ya personally with the bird idea I can see the similarities, and I do think it’s intentional, but not to the point of it being proof being evolved from birds imo but more simply having bird characteristics.
I just feel like if we’re were evolved birds they’d be atleast any hints or visuals to directly link it, like a mural or something. And grandma can actually imitate our calls too so it’s not just us. Other than the capes i see skykids being more more humanoid than anything else
thats true
It’s a neat idea tho, I really it!
thank u its just a fun theory i thought it was funny
That’s true, but we also share many similarities with other creatures as well.
It’s an interesting thought that Skykids are almost the “perfect” light creature
that is a very good theory actually. like in the season of shattering we get all the creature like cosmetics
Hello
Perhaps it could be a small motif to the mega bird, as we are kinda a small piece of it
What if the darkness trees/plants were actually the krill's eggs?!
These things are spread almost around the sky maps, but without proper habilitization, they can never hatch, because they weren't properly tended to.
Just imagine, if it's lore-intended, we might see Sky as a much more scary environment, than it really is.
I'd like to think it's more of darkness eating of decomposing-to living light matter
mm... I might have a conflicting theory.
See, in Tom Zhao (concept artist), he claims that the darkness plants existed before there were krill. Darkness could absorb light, and its hardened sap (the black particles that come off it when we burn it) was the basis of power stars. They are probs not krill eggs, because krill are corrupted light creatures.
Interesting though cross my mind, the darkness plants spread through spores, but the spores cannot lach into skids because their skin is tough
also the entire timeline is here, should clarify things a bit
That does makes sense.
No, they don't latch on because skykids skin is already hot enough to burn it righ
Still tho, spores of darkness do exist in the form of spike bals (polluted geyser) and darkness spore thingies (at the tips of darkness trees and right at the entrance to the hidden forest as well as the tiny spore buds on the tops of the bell towers in daylight prairie village)
i didn't know grandma imitated our calls
it's worth noting that concept art is no proof for anything as anything that was in concept art might have been scrapped by now
HOWEVER, I would like to add to that that if we follow the Shattering memories, the floating spores of darkness came before the krill
yeah for example the ark is defenetly not in the canon of the game and they reused that narrative for season of enchantment
Correct, though the concept art is a good source, it shouldn't be used completely as a reliable one...
However, there is proof that concept art still has some impact on the sky world itself, as the general storyline follows nearly the same. For example, the ark just mentioned is probably the eden castle, because it has the general shape disregarding the boat-based in concept and the island-based ingame.
These ideas both fill the same niche of occupying a "macguffin" location.
one aspect i'm fairly convinced they scrapped is the megabird. i'm sure it's an unpopular opinion but the only reference in-game we can find it's in the hidden area, and i guess it's just an easter egg
they (possibly) appear twice in orbit, I don't have pictures on hand but others probably do
they certainly scrapped any explicit references to it
they might have decided that it distracts too much from the actual story (the journey of the skykids and them helping the spirits) and overcomplicates things for this sort of wordless narration they built up
Personally, there may be a possibility the devs retconned certain parts of the lore, features or plot points; just so they can add them back in (or re-intergrate them with the new lore) at a later date.
Seeing how much thought was put into how the elders played a role in the concept art of Sky, and how little we have seen them in action outside of their 'main plot' (non-season) cutscenes.
We may expect more of the elders as the seasons go by.
To which point they would lead up to the true ending of Eden.
What happened to the King/Sky Prince and how us skykids reach the end game with saving all of the ancestor spirits.
How one can prove this is by refering to comments of devs mentioning they wanted certain features implemented sooner (such as the shattering event), as if they were there since the start.
Whether this was due to time, resources or technology limits is uncertain.
What is certain is knowing Aviary is coming back does strongly suggest more older features would be revisited, while other new lore bits we have not seen before would be revealed.
that's one!
mm gimme that tasty lore
Not sure about how megabird ties into this, but upon rebirth, Skykids are resurrected as fallen stars from some constellation
We know from tom zhao's work that skykids re sent from megabird
so possibly some more lore ig
Re: this past message of mine, I think the streams of birds we see passing through every realm + orbit are sort of the arms of megabird and light itself in a cycle of rebirth
Some version of it still exists in some form, we see it in Orbit and the Forgotten Ark, which was released in 2020, so it’s not completely forgotten.
It’s possible that Megabird is the ruler/ “Elder” of Orbit, and possibly our creator
I also have a theory that Aurora works as a relative/helper of the Megabird
That’s an interesting theory, but I think Krills were corrupted rather than born naturally
I wonder if ‘Megabird’ has remained kind of the same since early days but just been renamed ‘the Light/light’ which is a name we see a lot in the game
ive always sort of considered them one in the same, or at least, i consider alll light creatures, including sky kids, to be sort of a part of megabird
Yeah, the same person but different names, similar to the King/Prince/Eden Elder/One/ etc. etc.
Pretty much yeah (although whether the Light can really be called a person is debatable)
I see Megabird and the Light as one in the same but Megabird is a result of the Light almagram. Kinda like how Siphonophores are made of individual species but act as a singular entity together. The Light is the made of many beings of light, Megabird is the Light acting together as one
Admittedly I do have secret beef with the name Megabird (it sounds like a kinda silly name to call a god-esque creature) but I have an excuse and that is the fact that we only ever see The Light in the game
That might also be why we don't have "Megabird" in the game
it's most certainly a working title sort of name, just like the Hebrew elder names didn't make it into the game
you're right, i think what was the concept of 'megabird' in the concept artworks is now just called The Light
which just fits the idea of 'we're all born from light and return to that light's much better, than 'we all become one with the megabird'
i just realised, that sky is like, covered by clouds or smt, bc when we ascend to orbit, in the last part of eden you can see a bit of sky's world, and at least of what i remember, its all covered in clouds (i think, i havend done eden in quite a qhile, i will look for screensohts)
krills are just darkened mantas who lost their light so when they see one they attack the player in hoping to get back their light.
Youre right to note the connection between the clouds everywhere ro Eden. It’s probable the immense cloud cover is due to the Eden Storm
Dropping this lore nugget on Megabird.
There is another name for this creature in concept art that is, "The Bird of Light"
holddd on im confused - where is the megabird? do we see it in the game?
Yeah in orbit
where-?
angle the camera straight up in orbit and you’ll see them
Basically you’ll see this
ohhh
Also, another posebility
If you really squint and look at it from a curtain point of view, it is possible that the great sphere of light that you fligh towards in orbit is the same thing as the orb/head of megabird (bird of light) that you see in all of the concept art, and by extention the tendrils of light and all of orbit are also part of megabird
This would make megabird a fully metaphisical entery. Boath a being and a location, much like the premordial deaties of greek and other anchant mythologies, where the "god" aspect is in a way the soul of a specific natural force or location
And it would also have the ironicly humorous inplication that, in fact, megabird had been with us all along😂

Please, plese, please let this be true😍😍
As far as theories go, this is probably gonna be a sky dear ( just like they added sky whale, sky turtle and a whole bunch of sky fish
I just thought that The Light was referred to as Megabird in development because it looked somewhat like a giant bird made of birds, if anything it may have been a way for Devs to distinguish concept of The Light from the real life concept of light and/or as a placeholder until the found a proper name
The Megabird is just a giant Man o' war (it's the only siphonophore I know)
Yeah that's something I have thought about. To my understanding Megabird/The Light is comprised of many light creatures flying in space, so to say aurora is related or part of the light feels off as all light creatures are. However as stated after this in concept art we see Megabird with a large orb-like head.
Let's say that Megabird is an ant colony and that that orb is the queen and all of the light creatures are the specialised individuals the make up the nest, they cannot live without their queen. Except The Light is not an ant colony and isn't accessible by just any member of its self. What if Aurora is a being of light that has a deeper connection with the "queen" of the Megabird or perhaps Aurora is a specialised "worker ant" that specialises in showing the accumulated knowledge of the Megabird. What if the light creatures (in particular, the sky kids) are sent down to the kingdom to collect the knowledge of its past and bring it to the accumulated mind of the Megabird, we come down relive and gather the knowledge of spirits and bring it back to the Megabird to be sent back to gain more knowledge and aurora puts that knowledge into a show to keep the other workers on track?
I wouldn’t doubt it happening!
An interesting fact: When we click on most seasonal guides and spirits, we automatically do a “wave” emote to say hello.
But when we greet Aurora, we do the “respect” emote.
Thats an interesting way of looking at things🤔
Though it could go even further then that.
Light itself is preaty much the basis for everyrhing in this world
It is light, the energy that flows through the world, the life force that fules creatures, and it is the substance that souls of light creatures is made of
It is also the substance that stars are made off, and be extention the souls of sky kids
All that seperates it is the for that light takes, and the concentration of it in one system
The man-o war and ant collony metafore is a good way to think megabird
But rather then all the compinents haveing a conatant form, they constantny move between solid and liquid state, is you get what I mean.
Shifting from a spefific form to pure light thats part of the mass of megabird, back to new specific form
We greet Aurora with this emote
, the Respect emote, not the Pray emote.
Oh, you’re right
And aurora could be a more enlightened being with a deeper conection to the sorce of all light, and so could tap into the the great well of light to do all the things she did
Some people have said that Aurora isn’t necessarily canon, which is an interesting thing to think about
Depends on which part of aurora you are refearing to😅
Her as a singer from norway is deffinetly not cannon, but just as an ancester what just so hapenes to have passing similareties to the real person...well I dont see why that cant be cannon, eapecialy since its part of the game
Well its a waaaay smaller orb
Perhaps its megabirds blessing that is the sorce of her power
If it was true, why is there still a huge orbe that were flighing towards😅
If that was the only big orb of light, that would be a different story, yet there were 2
the minibird
Megabird-lite
This will drastically affect fishing season /ref
Reminds me of what Eden eruptions used to look like at the beginning of Shattering
Happy pride to the bisexuals
Yesss my thoughts exactly
I also like the concept art possibility that when all light creatures get reborn (we see birds and such alongside ourselves in orbit) they sort of move a step up, which I imagine as butterfly>bird>manta>progress through bigger mantas>whale
Sky kids don’t do this, but we do gain more wedges on our capes as we collect more light, which normal light creatures cannot do, so perhaps they must rely on their migration to Eden/rebirth to become stronger
Exactly. That is how evolution works in this world
Its also how I imagine that the sky dear (oh please please please let thet be a thing) comes to be, despite not seing anything like it up to this point
Like its only until this point that the world has heald enough and the cycle had been rebuild enough that more complex kinds of life like that can be born on earth.....
-That or the dear was just hiding faaaar away into the wild lands of forest where no anchant town or structure remains (aka the places we never go to)
Honestly until we see if it exists or not and what it is, we cant know for shure
ps can anybody send a link to the image/video this pic come from?
I mean terrestrial animals exist in sky, no? The passage masks depict bears and boars and such. Or maybe they once existed but are now extinct due to, you know, the acid rain in the forest and stuff
very much agree with you on that
Same with other kinds of masks too
You think wearing animals masks as a sky kid is like us wearing, say, a dinosaur mask or some fantasy creature mask? Like maybe some of these animals are no more than creatures of legend for sky kids
although in this world its hard to tell the distinction between aquatic, terestrial and areal creature. you got fish that are aquatic, but all the manta specias are at home everywhere
Yeah lots of both flying and aquatic creatures. Mantas jellyfish and whales. Birds seem to be strictly air, fish and turtle water, and crabs land (correct me if I’m wrong)
ooooo, yes
Im think we gain the knowlige of thise masks from the anchants, like how to make capes, chares and everything else...
but we might not fully understand what these creatures are
Im guessing the fully terestrial creatures would come way later in the branching of life (evolution in this case being the raincarnation cycle)
and they were likely the first ones to go extinct, so you dont have leftovers from anchant times like the 3 whales and the manta whale
Also, while were on the subject, a little non-cannon head cannon of mine😅
I kinda imagine that the cycle of reincarnation in a way very very gradually makes megabird and light in general stronger. Like the memories, hopes and dreams and cumulative experiences of living creatures in sky all turns into
energy when it goes back into orbit
Like, a lot of light is spent, but a lot is also gained, and it does form a small net positive in the end......provided there are no shenanigans
This last part is all non-canon btw, Im not claiming anything here😅. Im just saying its a fun way of looking at things from a worldbuilding point of view
has it ever crossed your minds that food is purely decorative in sky, and candles are the real meal?
just sayin'.
Based off some stuff ingame I think ancestors grew food and stuff but I dont think skykids really need to eat- its just optional for them in my hc at least
Moreso light in general, since anything that gives us wing energy can technically be considered “food” in a literal sense
wow such lore
wait... you are telling me mantas and butterflies and jelly fishes and fishes and turtles and... are food?!?!
Food in the sense that they give us energy, not that we consume them
Skykids are just photosynthesizing plants
mhm, also i just realised that in places like the citadelle and wind pads we recarge light out of thin air... what does this means tho
wait a minute...
has this been mentioned before
damn i dont see qwq
Plants aren't the only things that photosynthesise so sky kids could be single celled organisms
no like
compare to megabird
this man has a point
The game is called "Sky: children of the light" after all, perhaps we as players are baby mega birds?
✅ we can fly
✅ we have wings
✅ we are light
yes we are /s
what- why did it sencored that message qwq
i just said that ||i dont think its so much like that, but we definetly have somme relation with megabird ||
What if we are the final evolution before becoming a Megabird? What if we have evolved through reincarnation so much that we now only reincarnate to gain more and more light in order to transform into our own Megabird?
Yeah it's definitely a more out there theory for sure but it has some evidence (not much but still)
where is baushdaw when they are needed qwq
Well, in the opening cutscene, we are descending from the sky as a fallen star. Megabird is inherently depicted as a constellation. by law of transitivity, megabird = light
I do remember somewhere in the game referring to us( the player characters/skykids) returning to the light which I assumed is the canon name of Megabird
All in all the Megabird or The Light is a very abstract being, it's hard to say how it all works even when we experience the reincarnation process first hand which is supposedly something directly linked to the megabird
This is more of a funny chaotic out of nowhere theory, but what if Megabird sent the mantas etc to guide the ancestors and support them only for that to backfire and then apon their kingdoms demise Megabird sent the skykids down to collect the spirits of the ancestors to assimilate them into its ever growing light? This has literally no ground
AYYYY IT'S ME
what are crabs?
why are crabs?

((deep thoughts for the deep)
Crabs are the physical manifestation of perfection and serve as a reminder to skykids what perfection really is
no but seriously, there exist uncorrupted crabs in the sanctuary island archipelagos, so the crabs can't be dark creatures
but then why are they classified dark creatures in the wiki?
can't possibly be creatures of light, because they are made of stone and are predominantly gray
maybe they are just creatures
that got corrupted

i have this theory that crabs, some of them at least, were once skykids or other beings
Well what if dark creatures aren't all evil it just so happens that many of them are evil?
this is too low resolution for my eyes
they're cape wedges
where is TGC when they are needed
(trutuhfully, our relationship with megabird is underexplained at best"
and cape wedges resemble megabord
I think some crabs are light creatures (such as the ones we find in the shards), some are neutral, and some are dark creatures
It also looks like a stylized
turned 90 degrees @crisp socket
Maybe they are like sky kids in which they are light creatures but they have a darker shell over them, and the evil crabs are like skykids who lost their light and are just trying to get it back
or could it be that
is a stylized megabird tuned sideways?

Lol (wasted message now I have to wait to type again)
bro chat cooldown 💀
oh wait
OR it could just be a signal of flgiht, like, the equivalent of a japanese kanji or smt, (sory if i missunderstand how that works, i just starte dlearning japanese qwq)
Holy moly i have never though of that before
So now i can count 3 confirmed presence of the Megabird in Sky
One in orbit
One in entrance office
One literally in the UI
but the spirits content is somewhat has canon relevance is it not?
more they lost their light and they became evil most likely work on krills it woukd make sense why they attack anything with light and detect it
But the crabs there hit you too, they’re just different colors. Does this make them different from the ones in gw or valley?
Wait since sound calls like honks and birds give energy, what does that mean?
As are the energy within the wind and plants, the souls of living things, lifeforce, and the stars above.
Megabird is the sorce of all light. Its not so much a being in the classic sence as a metaphisical concept that also has a "will of its own" for lack of a better word
All the light energy on earth comes down from "megabird", and the "will of light" grants auronamy and free will to part of that light to form living things that live out there lives, and eventually return to megabird and reincarnate
I definetly agree with the whole kids and ancesters are at the top of evolution.....but there is a huuuuuuge gap between us and what is esentually the "will of god" (for lack of a better word)
The king probably tried to close that gap for himself, and see what happened😅
Another form of transfering light evergy
Its all conected
well that would.also explai dark creatures like they would become dark creatured if they lost all thier light and become hostile.
A lore piece i noticed:
- Blue crystal means the being used to have light (skykid, darkness plant, krill)
- Red crystal means the thing never had light (shard, darkness plant that come w shard, shard crab)
mm. not so sure about this
The shard comes from eden, and we know that from eden the artificial star exploded and split into shards
therefore the shards must have been empowered with light because the star was essentially a larger version of the crystals we see in the two player doors
therefore it must have once been empowered by light
I'm sure that the light probably interacts with the crystals by converting to energy (altering the hue to yellow then red as demonstrated by the eden door pedestals)
possibly the crystals (shown in red shards) are just more powerful versions of the black shards
Its more like red glow means corupted form of the crystal
-Normal blue crystal can contain light within them and rederect that energy for specific tasks
-Corupted crystals absorbe light whinout stoping
Hmm 🤔 You have a point
But i still think that there's meaning to the fundamental difference between those blue crystal and red crystal
Perhaps there's a time limit of how long beings can last without light, before becoming from blue (savable) to red (impossible to save)
Hmm 🤔 You have a point

💀 not discord repeating messages
I think the red shards only come from Eden, because when the skykid gets attacked and loses light they get covered in blue crystals
Does anyone know the year sky takes place? 🤔
I don’t think there’s a set year that we can apply to it. Like 20’s, 50’s, 2010’s for example, as there is a big fantasy element to sky, some things are modern and even futuristic when others seem stuck in the past
So I guess it’s just whatever? Can even make up your own year system if you want
we could attempt to measure it in time periods, but we cant pinpoint exact dates. General estimate would be post-storm era, in which all elders are ded
Not even a timeline of events?
Oo that timeline, it’s cool but a lot of it shown here doesn’t seem to make it ingame, so I definitely think it’s outdated. But a few of the things seem to have made it in
This is a timeline for Sky: Light Awaits.
Since the lore in the game changed since the international release as Sky: Children of the Light, some of the events in the 'old timeline' may not apply, or at least not in the way it originally worked.
It's still a good place to look at for some context and understanding on where the lore stemmed from. Though one should keep in mind that these old lore concepts have likely changed, or become obsolite in the current canon lore.
Is there a clearer image?

This has elements of color symbolism in Sky as well.
A fun fact: in very early versions of Sky, the entirety of Eden was blue. However, they changed it to red to make it more dangerous looking.
This is why I think red symbolizes danger in Sky, similar to how it does in the real world. It’s not the only symbolism for red in the game (look at The Valley of Triumph), but it is a prominent one.
I still agree with blue being representative of an absence of light. For example, the Elder Shrines have blue eyes before we meditate. Then, represents an excess of light.
🕊 So uh I just realized that First Krill Area in GWL is like Forest's Temple, does anyone have any headcanons as to why? 👀
🕊 I wanna reaaad headcanons at nearly 2AMMM
I’ve actually thought about this!
Like to think it’s a darkstone refinery (the stones we light up to open doors for example).
I believe there’s concept art which actually hilight how the refinery process would’ve worked, and it shows it in the current forest elder temple, so it’s one of the few pieces I see as a concept that actually made into the game, although it seems to be more implied.
Abyss also was a bigger darkstone facility, (shown with the murals) along with Hidden Forest as their elder seems to have a obvious connection to it.
So the broken one in GW it could’ve been a refinery destroyed by either krill or the war imo
They probably had the same function, as an industrial center of sorts
About colours in Sky, I vaguely recall a mention about the warm colours in Sky as follows.
White represents purity and Light, while orange/yellow is similar though more aligned to the Flame. The Flame refers to the Light in a different form.
Whereas with red, the colour may be similar to the others in regards to being associated with Flame. It is seen as a twisted version of it, therefore a corruption of the Flame.
🕊 [Eats up your headcanon]/j
🕊 I kinda think like the GWL Elder and H.F Elder did this as a sort of collaboration but then, the goofy dark shrimps happened
I can see that in a way! Both being the main producers and distributors for it to the rest of the realms given their flatter terrain (forest being the main one as it shows miners looking for raw darkstone)
Also find it cool that despite being the main producers, we don’t see either realm use it outside of functionality. Forest only uses it to power doors and crucial mechanisms along with wasteland
Every other realm does the same, only for pure basic functionality, vault using it for memory cubes.
Yet valley is the only one that just goes 100% with it: lights, instruments, mechanics that didn’t need to be darkstone powerd in the first place, they make things that didn’t need darkstone, use darkstone for efficiency!
I’m a little tired so I hope this make sence but ya! It’s very cool!!
🕊 Sah and Mekh being the goofy twins and not using the dark stones effciently
I mean have you seen their city? I'd argue they're very good at what they do
Valley seems to use darkstone for more cosmetic reasons, think of the giant golden rings spinning and so and and so fourth
the valley twins simply using the dark stones to make rollercoaster rides instead of powered doors
they have thieir priorities straight
Yaya they definitely use it to the fullest extent, and use it well! Just maybe to use it a little to much where it’s not needed
citadel my beloved
Like the gondola could’ve easily been used by trained mantas (flight shows it possible) yet darkstone was used as it’s faster and more cheap than caring for live animals
Valley lives in my head
🕊 I can imafine something when Sah and Mekh first got the Dark Stones in their hands
"Hey hey hey look what I got"
"Oh, cool."
"I'll make a rollercoa-"
"NO- That's a horrible idea!"

"LETS JUST USE IT ON INSTRUMENTS AND [insert the name of the spinny things in Citadel]"
"YEAAAA LETS GO"
"What do you mean we're missing lots of dark stones?"
"[Honk]"
"What do you mean 'stolen'?"
"Its
&
"
"Oh that makes a lot of sense- WAIT WHAT-"
[Honk]
But still, in one of the memories of the spirits in the citadel (cant remember which one) used mantas to race
🕊 Probs Manta Whisperer
I think it was backflip champion, warrior of loves quest also shows valley held manta races in the citadel with darkstone which really interests me that they still used darkstone for the gondola. Maybe manta racing was still a popular sport at the time?
yes i think thas it
🕊 OH YEA PROBS BACKFLIP CHAMPION
🕊 Because goofy lion hair
Yaya! Manta racing was still a sport in sky despite how manta light was used for darkstone which is just— very nice irony
i scrolled up a bit and saw nothing about this so i'll leave this here.
the eden citadel isn't there when you go to prairie's passage quest?
is that just a way to lower the amount of details to load for this specific sequence?
or, (the tinfoil hat reason) these trials take place in the past before it's creation?
from a game development standpoint, it could be because the eden mountain is bright and maybe disoreinting or takes away from the main goal of the night darkness eclipse idk
maybe thats true, that this existed before eden citadel
Where can I watch or read or idk sone video explaining about the lore of this game I keep searching Ik everywhere but I can’t find anything

🕊 SOTP MAKING ME CR6 😭😭
I just realized what's the big bone in the graveyard? Are those krills. I want to know the story about the graveyard and battlefield in GW, what really happened there. Anyone can tell the stories I'm ready to listen to.
Thanks
there are shields in the battlefield.
one shows the sun. another shows a diamond. spears litter the sand.
there was a battle here.
Yes! What are your thoughts on the sides/reasons?
It’s also known that the Wasteland Elder, (maybe only for a period of time) brandished the sun shield, implying they fought with that side
one obviously depicts a diamond, probably the power stars
the other depicts the sun, which can be interpreted as "the light" (a symbol that appears when deep calling)
so therefore
Not neceserally
In the early periods of the "Dark crystal age" mantas were not used as full to create the crystals, but insted the early forest factory used inported harvested light from places like Priery which they shiped in jars
thats true, that is the reason that there was that large rock with tiny holes in it
it is in the later days however, as the kingdoms grew larger and more elaborate, that the old ways of making crystals were not enough, and so over the years a much more....."efficuant" way makeing crystals become the norm
that was for raising butterflies, which we saw from the elder memory at the temple, were made of pure light (from candle) and then put in jars to be shipped
yes, that was the reason for the creation of the abyss factories, because the butterflies weren't enough\
And what was developed there become the norm for all other factories in the "late crystal age"
Im my asumltions about the sky timeline is corect, much of the archetecture in Valley was build dureing the "Middle Cryatal Era", so manta produced Crystals were still theoretical or from abyss in very limited, so the moral questions you posed probably werent a thing when the early gondolas and races were a thing
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/867549000358297610/1114013977446457395/Screenshot_20230601-211249.png tangentially related, I can't say how this might be related to sky but I do think it's a neat tidbit of information
i would say it has big segnificance, since vatiations of that symbol are found all over sky
These orbs appear in murals in isle too
I believe these used to be how Ancestors harvested light, before the discovery of dark stones and butterfly light harvesting
In the present day, we skykids can see this as the orbs of light in the daily quest "Catch the light" and the mini orbs in the boat statue in the (extremely long) cave in isle
precisely
pardon the ping, but this gives me a great idea. would you like to hear?
okie
so what if there was a webseries about sky, and whenever spirits would try talking to skykids, all they could hear was honking?
well, this specificly is the really old school method of harvesting light, basicly consentrating the exess light within the enviromant (the wind, the earth, and the light creatures) within the loop of the staff to form lumps of light that is stored in jars
it would also be really funny if certain spirits could actually understand the skykids, and the other spirits would be very confused as to how they understand the skykids
huh the light balls resemble the lights in the catch the light daily quests
i think the elders would be able to understand the skykids
of course, its all light energy after all. Only the concentration and configuration differs
sorry for the incoherency btw
So i other words: Elders bilingual
Deffinetly
I think you have a sliding scale from elders that can comunicate freely, to normal world spiris that are mear memories and only honk
with stronger willed spirits like most event ones haveing limited comunication or limited time to comunicate
yeah i think that was what i was going for
maybe that's why seasonal spirits are able to come back for brief periods of time?
precisely
just pure force of will?
and personality😂
the sassier the spirit the more they get to bust out of orbit
🤣
yup
bet there's some sort of mouse hole the spirits sneak out of every so often that megabird doesn't get suspicious
Oh my god I think I just got the joke
They put Oreo in the prairie so he’d be a PRAIRIE DOG
like
this thing

ok i never knew that
Omg thats so funny
new fav animal just dropped
it's also a reference to a tgc staff members irl dog

🕊 Hi Lore chaaat
🕊 Just wondering, what are your HCs as to why Daleth/Isle is not at the Eden Gate [yknow with masks and stuff because other elders are there but not Daleth]
The in lore explanation is hard to say
-The OUT of lore explanation is that in the beta you needed at least 5 players to open the dore, so you got 5 switches and 5 masks to light up
Also, Isle of down was not an area that you would freely revisit back in the old days. You would start on the distant island, then at the end you would meet Daleth who was the ferry man that send you off on a flighing gondola toward over the see and towards the continent, where you end up at the (right now old) Aviary as your hub world
The dore not haveing Daleths mask is a holdover of the old game design where first kimgdom was a lot more seperated (gameplay wise) from the rest
My HC is that the Isle Elder was distant to Eden, both geographically and personally, so in turn most of the Sky kingdom didn't care much about Isle
As for the IN lore explanation....
-Well one answer that pops to mind is that you need Daleths blessing to begin your journey, while the other 5 elders to end it
-Another lore explenation is that Daleth might have been the first of the Elders to start growinh disillusioned with where sky sociatuly was headed and what the king planed for it.
When they were crafting the dores to what we now know as edan ( back then the capital kingdom to the newly united sky empite, he might of asked to be left out of the design
I was just about to say that😅
.
Isle of down is the furthest away from the new capital that was founded on top of edan ( the floating castle), and so they were the most seperated from the new ideas, technologies and policies the were comeing from the capital, like a far provincial region of an anchant empire, so that could have afected Daleths mindset who was more "old school" in his resonings
I agree with most of this, I envision them being kind of stuck in the old ways and thus more distant from the rest of the kingdom. Not banished per se as some old concepts show, but just like, unpopular and considered by many to no longer be relevant
i wanna give them a hug
i wanna give all of them a hug for various reasons ~~even if they’re in time out for what they did
~~
They could have even left on their own, knowing how unwanted they were
Stoppppp (jk. never stop)
cannot believe i mispelled that
and to think that english is my first language. what the [honk].
Probably wasnt banished or anything that drastic
He probably gave up on politics and going to most council meatings...
Im guessing the voult elder was the next to follow in the whole disillusionmant process, with her slowly cutting ties with the rest of the kingdoms, planing the arc projects, and in the end letting in refugies
New TS hints dropped and I'd like to say something to a person I once knew as a friend, who frequents this channel.
I know how much you loved to have this spirit's mask.
All that I would like to say is, that I am glad to know you are finally able to have the mask and hope you enjoy it during pride month.
You know who you are, therefore would not mention your name.
maby a bit to personal for this channel😅
Speaking of which, do you think Home was once a part of Isle of Dawn? Maybe as a sort of colony?
Good question
Its hard to say
Im guessing if home is incuded in the lore, it would be the first place the children and posibly the ancestors come to earth before moveing to Isle of down
So I would say its probably like region 0 for lack of a better word, and something of a neutral ground
From aurora we see people ariveing to the shores of the isle of down by boat. If we do count this as lore, then there would have been regular ferrys and transport between the "Home region" and the Isle in the old days
Loreora
ive been wondering about runaway's memories in both concert and quest
I thought they are running away from darkness with boat when storm arrive
And what light that bring us home ? It is elder's light that bring us home ?
Well, where are they running away from😅
Besides the home island, there is nothing in that direction but open ocean
Maybe traveling?
Oh reminds me of an idea i have that it could be because of the sea level rising, abyss shows an entire structure flooded so maybe they’re moving to dry land? Since they’re home was beginning to flood
Just guessing 😅😂
By the way, did someone know who storm(eden) elder is ?
🕊 Me sneaking into Lorechat while being in class:
Yes, from the concept art, there is a 7th elder that is shown, but not physically present in the game.
The King (placeholder name: Resh) is likely the missing elder of Eden.
This can also be seen in murals of Eden, namely the constellation as seen in Vault. As well as a mural you can find in Eden itself.
Feel free to see TomZhao's concept art for the King.
Fannon name for the king used here, the elders are somtimes shown to be called after time of day, except forest, so we decided storm would be fitting
It could be Wasteland, they are part of the same island so maybe they kinda traveled west from that
Yes, im already see the King's concept art, but it is only shadow with crown, scary look
🕊 I really like to think since Vault/Lamed is closer to Eden, she has to endure the screaming and thunders coming from Eden
🕊 I like to think that Moffs will scream [continiously honking] in pain because... Rocks.
Oh right, if any of you want it, I can DM a document that summarizes a bit of the Sky lore
🕊️ Help my cousin asked me if Resh is edible what do I tell her
🕊 She's messaging me help me Lorechat
I want to read
Everything is edible if you’re brave enough

🕊 Child takes on a terrifying Eden Elder, will the child win/J
She's probably a hungry Eden diamond (joking
Looking at the map, I kinda doubt it😅
They would be ariveing from the uper side of isle of down if they were comeing from waistland
That would explain why she is so sad looking
Poor girl must be traumatized😅
Oh my god is it a Forest season??
I do like how they’re making more dynamic time, the time loop theory has truly been shattered
I’ve been going back on Prarie from the hills, and very unlikely valley because mountain peaks
If it’s Forest perhaps Lightseekers 6?
Case for all realms based on the trailer
Isle season: the lighting is similar to Isle and the Switch Trailer had tall mountains, though it’s weak because we already just had an Isle season.
Prairie Season: It’s the grassiest realm, and the rain is very light.
Forest Season: Forest has grassy clearings, and there is rain.
Valley: Valley is known for its mountains, and perhaps it could explain the rainy weather.
Wasteland: Bloom 2023 shows the potential of a green Wasteland, so this is it possibly in full action?
Vault: Cameras and photography go with Vault’s theme of recording things, and seem technology appropriate.
what makes you say that?
i wouldn’t mind getting some more info on prairie, i feel like there isn’t much about the backstory there
Prairie has only had one season. 'bout time they got another
Would make sense, I feel we’re seeing a trend of realms who’ve had the least seasons getting one in a long time: vault with remembrance and isle with passage
Valley is cut off until everyone else gets their turn
was there actually a time loop theory? to me, the story has always been clearly a case of a reincarnation system, like in Buddhism and Hinduism
This is how I imagine dark creatures develop. Environments with lower availability of energy lead to adaptations to conserve it.
Eventually, reacting to share light with other creatures turns into attempting to take it.
I was surprised to notice these flowers do indeed go totally dark without proximity.
that sort of evolution theory could explain the Dark Crabs and the dark plants
I had a theory that the red crystal that absorbs light was a byproduct of the king character experimenting with the memory storage technology seen in Vault and a ton of light energy to craft vessels of darkstone to carry on their civilization, aka us Children of the Light, and messing with all that light and darkstone at once made the explosion at the heart of Eden, that red diamond that shoots out shattered red crystals, so in crafting a way to save his people the king caused their own downfall, its like karmic punishment for playing god
long ago, there was a common theory that the realms themselves were trapped in a time loop, though this has been slowly disproven with time
yeah, although I think it was less "king playing god" and more "what other option do we have?". I've talked a lot about the Eden Diamond and Shattering, would you like to hear it?
passage sweep
absolutely
btw @lusty merlin idk where would be the right place to ask this, especially since i was away doing life stuff when you posted a lot of it, but your new au looks rly interesting and i would love to hear more about it
i am absolutely weak for those types of theories and your ideas are always so cool
it's honestly a bit funny how almost every season in one way or another slowly disproves that theory
@harsh copper ||#promote-your-sky-content message||
Ooo tyty! I can explain in DM’s if that’s okay, don’t wanna clog chat and all
Yea sure!!
Guys, do you reckon the star on the top of the new mountain logo for the upcoming season is something to do with the Eden King? Ngl that would be pretty good
Yey I was thinking if the star on top of the mountain had to do with Eden or not
we'll have to wait and find out I suppose
i think it's fusing the appearance of eden with the landscape mode on cameras
(or whatever the mountain with a cloud icon is on this camera dial)
i think it's more about dynamic camera control, not a season (esp with the view finder overlay in the video)
That star has appeared in almost all seasonal logos, it appears to be a generic symbol for possibly the light?

to be fair, Eden isn't the only mountain in the game, if triumph is any indication
Ever wonder why the Archives are flooded with water?
Sometimes you can hear it flowing into the lowest level of Archives.
Maybe blue light shenanigan’s? Since it’s shown to be able to make water
spilled my oiter
That’s interesting, maybe the Archives was built on top of a hot spring or something?
I’m very interested in interpreted Sky’s music and sound to complement the lore
Am I wrong to believe that based on the Treasure Reef, krill were created by the sky people of the past?
You’re probably right, if not outright created, at least influenced/partially made
i like to think remains of light creatures corrupted into darkness and created the krill, or something along those lines
We know krill were corrupted and by the framing it seems unintentional, as Baud said. Ancestors led to the world bejng flooded by darkness and krill were made by darkness corruption, so ancestors are at least indirectly responsible for the existence of krill
Is this from a TGS staff member?
(Please say yes, please say yes)
Jenova Chen, the so called “big cheese” if you will
Yeah, I think he’s an intern or something
he was in mischief last year but he wasn't very prominent so i doubt hes like in a high position or anything
