I just thought of something, can't say that this might be an original though, so we all know that when we honk the "light" that leads us to the direction of the elder temple looks like a prophecy emblem , and that kinda makes sense due to the point of " That's where we're destined to go through " or something.

Now I just realized it also looked what is depicted to look like resh aka the King.

The most common theory about him is that Alef or the Prince, or the first skykid, was corrupted and then turned to resh or something- anyways I wouldn't go into detail anymore-

We don't know how involved the other elders were with the king's rise to power; the only elder we might be seeing (if it's not refusing voyager) before the prodigy in the Prophecy cave murals completes the trials is Isle; the rest are only shown afterwards, being given the Prophecy lights.

Somehow I have this weird headcanon that sky kids actually "think" with their candle (🕯=🧠) and their head just for honk. Like those characters from Touhou that has one tiny "hit box", as long as their candle is not damaged, they can survive well

And story about a sky kid that head got krill chewed off. The kid is annoyed because handsomeness destroyed, and with the help of friends, go to Eden, rebirth to regrow their head. The journey was hard, because headless kid can't honk or see stuff, but they got friend carry on back and rebirth successfully

Random theory.
Suppose that Sky crabs are able to consume dark stone in small quantities (either as a mineral, or from exposure with darkness for the stuff to naturally develop in their bodies). And that dark stone has gravity defying properties.
The reason why crabs fall slowly as far as the lore is concerned, is because they evolved to use dark stone to help break their falls.

You see, in real life, some bird species such as seagulls or hawks would use a technique to kill their prey by picking it up and dropping it. This would lead to the poor creature falling to its death, though it is a hunting technique birds would use.
Perhaps this may help indicate why we don't see larger birds. As there is possibly not enough food to sustain larger birds.
Whereas other creatures such as mantas, krill or whales can exist as they get their nutrition in other forms. Whereas it being filter feeding, hunting, or other forms of sustenance.

Take note, this is just a theory, an observational hypothesis.

That would be the case if a krill were to hit a crab, it should in theory have been the case. Seeing most krill do prowl in areas where crabs are. (Eden ones included, since crabs live in the pipes).
It is a shame the game would not have this interaction in the game.

As a skykid can technically have a krill attack, miss the skykid and hit a crab instead.
The crab seemingly skitters away unscathed, though it would be cool if the game were to include a death animation for a crab. Just for another one to respawn in the sand to prevent crustacean-acide.

Evolution and mutations probably exist in Sky creatures too. In the Switch trailer of pre-fall Sky, there are these crabs with red eyes and tower structures.

Now, there are mutations that make some crabs bigger and some smaller. However, because ancestors eat more of the bigger crabs, the "small crab" "genes" get passed on generation to generation. This is a principle that can be seen IRL as well.

Oh, I also I have a small, tiny, puny, probably not even lore changing in the slightest, theory. The underground caverns might be located on the back of the giant wurtle from the map. When you look at the caverns from where the map shrine is located you can see the spine tips and in the map it shows those spine tips from the side too. Its slightly more compelling that the giant wurtle is literally wrapped around the caverns on the map. The only other wurtle on the map is a smaller one, different species, and is located by wasteland where we know wurtle fossils are located. So, take this with a grain of salt if you will, but keep in mind the theory. And if and when this is revealed to be true, your subconsious mind will bring forth the thought Esther was right./j

Heyyyy Lore chat! So in the past I’ve come up with names for Seasonal Spirits, often around a certain theme. For example I chose dances and combined them with bird names for the Rhythm Troupe (the bird names were because of their masks), ocean-related names for Abyss, and more bird names for Flight since birds were so integral to the Season. It helps me connect to them.

One thing that is interesting about the map in general is that the shard eruptions come from the crystal and likely fire outward radially. It might imply that there are three additional diamond districts that end at eden, that TGC may add in the future. Not likely, but I think it's possible

I’d like to think that the windpaths were a travel/trade hub for the ancestors. If you wanted to purchase fabrics n stuff from valley, but lived in prairie, you could use the windpaths via a flying boat(or a manta, if you were more adventurous!) to either buy the fabrics there or go all the way to valley and buy them from the source. I’d also like to think that they were a lot more windpaths than what we see ingame, it’s just that many of them are degraded beyond repair.

I think that Eden was some foul creature of darkness who wanted to destroy sky country and brought all the krills and those guys. And then when they saw what the krills and stuff did to the capital wich now is golden wasteland the elders gave their lives to protect each of their realms and seal the main meany in that glowy thing in eye of Eden. And now with those shard eruptions this maybe means that he’s gathering strength to break free from the elders curse.

Hello everybody, welcome to map critique, the discord series where I specifically criticize the Sky:CotL map out of spite and disown it as it is not accurate to what we see in the game at all. Lets begin

The transition between isle and prairie in game is a straight line, it does not jerk left like in the map. Also, the space between isle layer 1 and 2 is too wide, the butterfly mountain is also a tad too close. And by a tad too close I mean IT IS PRACTICALLY TOUCHING THE ISLE TEMPLE IN THE MAP!!!!!! I also feel that the oreo area is a tad too close, bt thats just my opinion.

The entirety of vault, need I say more?

The map shows the hermit valley as lower than the village of dreams, or is at least trying to show that it is located there but is failing terribly. Well it doesn’t actually matter as the hermit valley is closer to the top left rather than the complete bottom left. Also, if you’re going to only use pandmarks for your map at least align them right. One example of this failure to do so is the fist ice rink in valley. It is very obvious that the bridges are not aligned to the right races.

Honorable mentions: The entire map simply because the extreme generalization makes it look a tad wonky.

I would like to say that I mean no hate to TGC, but I do mean 100% hate to the map itself for not getting a full education because they simply didn’t want to(which I know because I checked their files)and then having the audacity to cartiograph itself without having finished human geography.(that last part was satry.. I think.)

By “King” I mean the general leader of the Sky world, and we see the symbol in the final quest. The King has as much canonicity in Sky as Megabird

I have a thought. The mural in the beginning of eden part 2 shows us that the king(or kings?)has an influence over the diamond. And in the final shattered memory all the elders are there. What if some of the elders peer pressured the king(or kings?????)to see what they fould do to the diamond. And then corruption finally hit the diamond.

The butterfly mountain is not touching it, it’s separated by clouds. Also, because it’s a 2d map, everything has to be front-facing, which means the Sky world probably has slightly different angles.

True, thats why I said practically touching, it is still too close. I also never said that the hermit valley was 100% represented as below, I know that it was a failed attempt to place it down somewhere. Also, the map shows the vault of knowledge as a leaning tower, and I don’t think that elevator goes to the side between the second and third floor of vault. Also, the only way that the placement of the starlight valley makes sense is if the hallway makes a 180 U-turn towards it, and then another 180 U-turn to the entrance. Which seems impractical and the way they made the hall in the game makes it seem as though it goes on one way forever. And the starlight desert has a direct route to eden to the right which, if vault is really toppled over and layed out that way, makes it complicated to get there without noticing it.

Tbh I think the Eden part of Starlight Desert isn’t real anyways, because if Vault is in/near the mountain, then the gate should be near it instead of at the opposite side.

I think the map’s highly stylized, but not untrue.

The only complication with the eden being fake in starlight desert is that the little prince actually ends up at the actual eye of eden.

Eden isn’t in the Starlight Desert, you can just see Eden from the Starlight Desert. Given most of the Vault is underground to some capacity, which I’m assuming the map doesn’t show for stylistic choices, you can just look past the Vault markers and see Eden is still close and adjacent to Starlight

Oh, I didn’t know vault was underground. Still doesn’t make up for the fact the they show it slanted. Unless the vault keepers figured out a way to give it it’s own sort of gravity.

When making maps, mapmakers often have to make choices on how to depict a 3D world onto a 2D plain of limited size. You can look up the different types of maps on your own time but there are a lot and they all have their own drawbacks on what aspects of the region they are trying to convey will simply come out inaccurate to the real world.

Again, I want to reiterate that whoever designed this map may have taken some artistic liberties that can make it seem ever the more inaccurate if you take it literal. As others have pointed out, the map forms a diamond shape. Diamonds are a frequent symbol in Sky. whoever designed this map decided to use the Vault to form out the last side of the diamond.

Also it is trying to portray a place that would otherwise a dot on a plane yet has multiple layers. How else are they going to show the other levels in the Vault apart from each other in a way players can read? By putting these levels side by side.

While I do have problems with this map, it is shortsighted to toss it out entirely since this is the only confirmed canon map of the Sky world

I do want to note that the Eden gate & the Vault summit are along the same diagonal axis and you can see the top of the Vault from the Eden gate area. So while there are some inaccuracies due to artistic liberties, that’s not to say the mapmaker went completely erratum here.

Well, ancestors can’t fly and presumably can’t die in the forest rain. They also can’t be reborn and are all currently dead(as far as we’ve seen in the kingdom of sky)
