HI POEM TIME
OK
With the "Bare" play on words, maybe the Elders have finally stripped themselves of the metaphorical masks they wear. That they came together on the basis of trying to fix something, and that just this once, they should all trust each other once again.
Or maybe it's the opposite. "Bare" being used as how the Elders are unapologetic in their mistrust and judgement of each other. That the Eden diamond was nothing more than a little concern that unfortunately required all of them to be present.
Maybe that's what broke the diamond. Not any fracturing from its structure, but by the Elders themselves, ignorant (or unwilling to see) to the damage they've caused to both themselves and their realms
"Bewildered in final moments of stillness"
"In the final moment of shattering"
do we think the lines of energy have any significance
Oh are we analyzing pixels now
“final moments” bookends 👀
Not really sure, other than the fact the lines imply that the diamond's shattering caused something akin to a shockwave or explosion (also helped by the Elders flying after being thrown by this presumed explosion)
there’s similar red lightning in ascension
There’s also a shockwave in the frozen memory
Bare at the precipice
If it does indeed refer to both a literal precipice and a figurative one. the literal one may refer to the diamond being bare, exposed, while the figurative one may refer to the infighting between elders or the spirits themselves looks at wasteland
Unseen fractures crumble in the chasm
Same as the first line, if it refers to both literal and figurative meanings. The diamond is starting to crack perhaps due to overloading (or something), while the figurative meaning could be related to the figurative precipice in the first line.
The stars under fathomless weight
I have to admit that yes the elders are referred here as stars. They are under fathomless weight trying to fix the diamond at the same time quell the infighting amongst them.
Reaching to light and to dark
I believe this refers to the elders trying to use all means to fix things, both light and dark for the diamond. while for the infighting it may refer to them reaching to those that sided with the light and those that sided with the dark to stop fighting.
Carrying memory of all that was held
Admittedly I have no clue what this pertains to as of now
In the final moment of shattering
All this happened as the diamond is on the brink of exploding
lore chat is having a very wonderful meal tonight
my theory is that the diamond was stable at one point, but all the fighting and disagreements between elders and them neglecting their realms was what caused the explosion and death of the world
Mmmmm, I don't think so exactly
We got a full out literary analysis here
i am also not a lore expert! this is just my theory :)) if i got anything wrong please say so
I thought the carrying memory line referred to the memory quests themselves that the shards carry, but it could also refer to the elders being forced to carry the memory of what the kingdom used to be and all they used to have :c
Carrying memory of all that was held
Could refer to the fact that darkstone seems to be capable of holding memories. Maybe the Elders, in their desperation, are trying to go back to their roots? Trying to reach out to Megabird in a last ditch-effort attempt at saving the realms?
Oooh, that's a good thought Crystal-
i want 2 eat tje poem
HI KRII
Bare at the precipice
Unseen fractures crumble in the chasm
POV you're at the edge of a big hole and something crumbling falls in
The stars under fathomless weight
Reaching to light and dark
Likely the elders struggling in their last moments imo
Carrying memory of all that was held
In the final moment of shattering
The stars (elders) could have stored all these memories
HI
my brain is too mushy rn 2 form like a coherent thought abt the poem but like Man
Can you elaborate? I feel like I kinda get you (the Eden mural does seem to imply that the diamond didn’t blow up Instantly) but I’m kinda failing to understand the whole interpersonal distrust -> physical flaws in the diamond reasoning if that’s ok
Whiplash analyzing this poem while having Girl in Red play in the background but anyway-
the fathomless weight could be both the tough responsibility we have and a metaphorical weight that dislodged us from the heavens
I repeat, the track for the memory is called "The Unfathomable Nothing"
actually no wait one(1) thought
the unseen fractures bit makes me tjink of like
problems being covered up or ignored but eventually just all falling apart
what if the carrying line means they are carrying the memory of everything that has happened until now and decided to fix the diamond at all cost even at the cost of their lives? 🤔
If the Eden diamond was made in desperation, it could’ve been rushed and any physical or mechanical flaws were waved off.
YEAH
back from posting all the poems on tymblr like a normal person ok hi
YEAH especially because there was a whole entire war in wasteland! and also obvious disagreements on how to use darkstone etc! maybe they never really got worked out before the elders died [I think it’s safe to use death as the closest term here?] And only got resolved or forgiven when they met each other after we helped them
WOOOOOOOOOO FINAL SHATTERING POEM WOOOOO
if this is the case do you think the seats in the vault where one is fallen down is like the meeting where they decide to make the diamond out of desperation and forest elder became enraged knowing the ramifications and walked out the meeting?
I don’t think those chairs can fit the Elders
us with the poem:
my thought at the moment (subject to change):
the Elders, under extreme pressure from their responsibility to their realms and people, turned to the diamond as a high-risk, high-reward solution to the problem they were facing. the amount of energy, both light and dark, that the diamond was being used to harness put too much strain on it, causing existing fissures and cracks to open up. knowing the explosion was coming and would devastate the area around, the Elders used the diamond as it was shattering to preserve the last moments of everything that was about to be wiped out
The thought that there were probably some spirits still fighting when the diamond shattered or post-apocalypse because the fights were never resolved makes my heart 💔
I don't think that room can fit the Elders in general (doesn't look like a meeting room either,) they just happen to own a comically large table for some reason
YEAH THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING. AND ALSO HENCE WHY ALL THE ELDERS COULD HAVE GATHERED DESPITE ANY DISTRUST BECAUSE ITS A LIFE OR DEATH MATTER
They needed a place to put their comically large evil diamond
Yeah I agree with this!! I love the idea that the memories are recorded on purpose, it reminds me of vault; I’m still trying to work out whether I believe it though or whether I think the diamond did that on its own since it seems to work like that. bc idk if the elders would’ve had time to do anything
They knew that darkstone had the power to hold memory and went up to the rapidly deteriorating diamond knowingly not to fix it, but to modify it just enough so that when it eventually explodes, they'll be safely kept within as a memory.
Night Elder's the one closest to the diamond in the memory, it may be me just overthinking but I honestly believe that this is a valid theory
I always saw the power diamond aspect tied to an irl analogy of progress even at the cost of our own world’s well being, specially because that part of things is so explored on Forest which… I don’t wanna say it has anything to do with the Amazon just exemplifying things 💀
My theory from poem: eden go boom.
TGC has been going ham with the environmentalist themes in Sky so you're not far off
:”Hey,are you sure you don’t want to look at the revisions for the diamond? There could possibly be some flaws-“
:”it’ll be finee”
Seriously though the only speculation I can offer rn is the “carrying memory of all that was held” one.
Possibly meaning when the elders died and possibly got stuck in a sort of limbo, they carried all the memories of the kingdom with them, good and bad. Like a “life flashes before the eyes type of way” I would expand on this on my pocket Denison theory and why each elder ended up where they are in the game cutscenes but my break ends in 5 minutes, anywys have fun with the poem^^
Oh yeah I definitely agree with you! Just wondering why this particular diamond was so horribly rushed since it seems capable of killing Everyone, not just causing environmental problems that can be easily ignored by at least some of the population. it seems like an act of desperation especially since we know the world was already getting darker & more corrupted at that point like GW, probably due to darkstone
what if the reason why spirits are still able to manifest in the physical world and wait for us to relive their memories are because of the elder carrying the memories? 🤔
WAITWAITWAIT, AND THE SEASONAL AREAS BEING AS THE ELDERS GET STRONGER, THEY START TO REMEMBER MORE OF THEIR REALM AND ITS PEOPLE
I’m not sure either but I’m assuming maybe it was their way of taking things one step further. Creating something that maybe would be capable of reaching its ability and power to all realms, which also explains why, when things went so wrong, caused the shards to be able to fall everywhere
supports the "elders are the realms" theory
I can see this! I’m not really trying to wonder why the diamond was created in the first place, just why it was created with such a high possibility of exploding instead of perfected so that it wouldn’t. like, it feels rushed
okay but that makes so much sence!
before I go imagine when the very first moths came the cutscenes were much different in theory, elders unsure what to do but as more skykids showed up they realized they are slowly helping rebuild the kingdom, discovering more areas ect and help ascending the spirits. And with vault cutscene where their all togeather, maybe they have time to discuss everything before eventually forced back into their realms who knows. (K now I gtg💀)
Oh I like this idea! I had the idea that spirits are petrified because the elder is as well, although it’s probably just because of darkness. However, the petrified trees in forest, all the wood & cloth furniture thats turned to stone, etc might hold true for this
oh I got beaned
was saying it reminds me of an incident relating to a power plant in russia
It kinda reminds me of Age of Enlightenment stuff where it’s like, they likened knowledge to light.
So offerings of light could be offerings of knowledge
I’m just reaching here LMAO
yea, I see it like that too – the first wave of skykids awoke the Elders for the first time since the Eden calamity, so the Elders didn't have the sureness they do in their temple cutscenes. with more skykids and more offerings of light keeping them conscious longer, they could convene and talk about their situation. they could even plan for how to introduce themselves to new skykids, like how Sunset's cutscene is so choreographed
thinking about it... as the seasons progressed we finally have an area where spirits actually roam looks at harmony hall it seems like the elders are becoming strong enough to break free from the clutches of the eden diamond (I remember about alasdairs theory about the elders being split into two or something like that)
oop sorry ping
Yeah exactly! For me personally I can see the moths light being somewhat temporary, like the elders gain a little of their strength back with each flame but they’ll revert back to their original state. Isle’s mask and sight falling back to broken pieces as their swept back to their pocket demisions to wait for the next moth for example.
Maybe the diamond Vault has is like a bridge to the other pocket demisions somehow? And light is needed which could be why the other elders can’t visit one another as they please. Light they maybe don’t possess any longer that they need form skykids? (I’m just trying to work game mechanics with the lore-)
I'm sorry- what indicates that the elders were fighting with each other?
to be fair vaults shrine has all of the elders shrines in it sooo
Gave me the little thought that we caught Rain on one of their sadge days in their cutscene and that they'd be more eloquent if we'd meditated at their temples at any other time.
On the flip side, imagine a non-broken-faced Dawn, an energetic Day, relaxed Sunset, a stronger Dusk (no arthritis attacking them and they don't have their spear this time), and a contented Night
in my skykid fic, Dawn's mask was unbroken when they first met my POV skykid as a moth, but when said skid returned, Dawn's mask was broken. Dawn's mask in Light Awaits crumples apart after summoning birds/boats, so it seems that even with the skykids' light offerings, they burn through their light just by existing and using their abilities.
Dawn, being the Elder of the least visited realm, may return to a more weakened state since they get less light
I find it really weird, to this day, that Dawn isn’t on the door to Eden (idk if they added them there but I’m assuming not since the last time I played)
((Took me a while to understand it was Dawn elder and not Dawn from Pokémon too 💀))
Maybe over time they come to conserve more light than use it. (Would explain the twins from lifting the entire arena with thousands of birds to just playing a simple game💀 -in light awaits-)
I have this quip of Night trying their meager power to retrieve the other Elders to their realm.
so i think Vault Elder has the ability to summon the other Elders into their pocket dimension since they're all there in Vault's cutscene.
in my ficverse, after the Eden calamity, they were all locked away in their pocket dimensions but still alive for a time. Vault Elder tried summoning all the Elders to their space, but failed. they use the last of their light trying to reunite the other Elders, yet cannot reach them, and dies.
then the skykids' light offerings reawaken Vault Elder. at first, they have periods where they slowly build their strength then do one big push to try to call all the Elders back together, using up most of their light in the process. each time it fails and they pass out. the skykids reawaken them, oblivious to Vault Elder's struggle.
Vault Elder has only the knowledge in their mind to help them but isn't sure what the problem is. they keep trying, but each failure only brings them more sorrow. are they meant to be alone forever? it would be an apt punishment, they find, but they refuse to give up.
overtime, as each of the Elders regain their strength, Vault Elder is able to grasp a faint sense of their presences, something they never felt before. they use these wisps of this sensation for one more ritual, pushing nearly all of their light into it, and calls for the Elders. they stand on weary legs, waiting.
finally, the Elders arrive.
Vault Elder collapses in Dawn's arms and cries. they apologize for siding with the king for so long, for experimenting on the Valley Elder(s), for turning away from each other and Megabird. the other Elders form a big group hug and the warmth of their light keeps Vault Elder conscious.
relating it to your theory that split (portion of them in the shattering memories and another portion in these pocket dimensions) think it could suggest that there is still an existing connection between the two portions? one receives light but as the other is in an are where light is drained (maybe) then the light in the pocket dimension self gets drained too? 🤔
Sunset's the most choreographed and energetic because skids kept meditating at their temples for their weaves
/j
Aw no that’s so sad I love it
oh that's a interesting take. I like that idea.
thing is, idk whether the Elders burned through light thus needed offerings during the ancestors era. was their own light enough to keep them functioning originally or is this a development because of the Eden calamity?
I really hope one day we get more info about how it would work, seeing all the elders reunited in vault always intrigued me
i imagine back in the day they got enough offerings with enough regularity to build up reserves
yea, that's what I think too, that the Elders could've regularly received light offerings from the ancestors. when the ancestors started dying out, there were less to give them light offerings, and with their light they withered away
wouldnt that mean ancestors worshipped the elders more than the megabird?
actually I think it could be the reverse instead. megabird gives light to the elders, elders pass the light onto the realms and the ancestors
hence when the stars fell so did the light fade away
i headcanon that the elders were seen as both community leaders and like... liasons? maybe? between the Ancestors and Megabird/the Light, kind of like some religious leaders are seen as the go-between for their followers to communicate with their god(s)
Maybe it was a hallowknight situation? (If ppl here know the story of it)
You mean like a disciple?
With the stars united, our light was infinite
...and together, we lived in harmony.
As spirits, we soon became many
...creating our home here in the clouds.
But darkness came and the stars fell...
...and with their light we faded away.
A long time has passed. Now we call to you.
Go forth, child. Return our spirits to the stars.
the new intro in isle of dawn for reference
i don't think that's quite the right word either, i imagine it was more like
Megabird <--> Elders <--> Ancestors
(i don't believe there was actually a direct one-to-one communication between Megabird and anyone due to the nature of Their being, but calling it that is simpler)
Do we have any indication that the people even knew of megabird? /Gen
Forgotten Ark mural
Flight symbol aswell if that counts
I don't believe Megabird can influence the world below directly, so They send down stars to do Their bidding. first it was the Elders to ensure the ancestors were guiding light to the Light (relevant fic excerpts attached). second it was Chosen One. third, when the last two failed, skykids.
now that I think about it it makes sense that megabird is used as the symbol for season of flight
it is the first season that connects the realms together and megabird is about unity and connection
May i ask where you got these images? Haven’t seen anything like it before until now
Given the fact that 2/3 of these solutions have failed I think maybe They might need to branch out or something
Maybe “third times a charm” is their motto
these are excerpts from my fanfic "We Are One & I Am Two," which is about the Valley Elder(s). you can read it on ao3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40284843
Maybe the elders are made directly with Megabird’s light and that’s what connects them to orbit
Baffon
Oo that’s where! I thought it was an offical source but I’ve read it before! (Amazing story btw I loved it
)
my Sky fics are borne from my lore musings, I just use them to further explain my ideas
-> I’m worried the ancestors will do something bad maybe we need to send some guides to watch over them
-> ok now they’re fighting and this doesn’t look like this will go well so now we are sending down another one of them but a kid this time
-> oh god that went horribly. wait. we have the best solution. the same thing we did last time but now there needs to be 1000000000 of them
-> hope this works
pretty sure some stuff like prairie temple entrance and those flight sign things depict megabird so yea probably
And you do a really great job at it! I’ve been wanting to write how the elders felt with the isolation in the pocket dmeisions but I haven’t gotten around to it
It depicts their connection to the light I think, as Megabird imagery becomes irrelevant in later realms
replaced by symbols of the king and the ancestors
what is making y’all liken this symbol to the megabird? It just looks like a golden weathervane to me?
quick show them the spaghetti monster
If you look it from left to right it looks like a big duck (that’s not relevant I just think it’s funny)
Azaura knows of the credits/concepts Megabird I assume? (You do, right?)
resembles this concept Megabird but turned on its side
Not the bird having glamorous hair 😭
hi there! after the last season quest poem got posted I was looking for the earlier posts to read them all again but I'm having trouble finding some
does anyone here have all the poems that were posted on the socials for the season quests?
Hmmm i see no resemblance at all… maybe to a normal bird because of the wing detail
Dang, that's not going well either, they're overwhelmed by eruptions
I beg to disagree--
Then beg.
thank you for your kind words
go and shoot for the moon with your own writing. I'm really fond of writing about the Elders that sees them multidimensionally and explores their thoughts. I've been waiting on the Elder frozen memory poem so I could get some insight onto what the Elders were feeling or doing in that moment so I can write the memory Amander receives when they get sharded.

#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Hi!! here’s a compilation of all the poems, with links to the individual poem messages!
Skykids have more to worry about with candle inflation than eruptions tbh
I like the idea of megabird kinda slouching in the back and not influencing things too much like “aight I created everything now y’all handle this” and then everyone messes it up so badly it changes it’s mind
thank you so much
The megabird is such an ominous figure in the game do you think it’s possible that players try to assign it too much meaning in the game? Like that picture of the bird in the stars that i still believe is just a swirl of stars
--> Time to dispatch Plan Number 4 [Eradicates the world]
I see Megabird as a rather hands-off god — They can’t do much and really don’t want to do much to interfere, seeing how beings of light carry themselves out since they all have free will.
i've mentioned this before but i think of Megabird as being the collective awareness of the galaxy and everything in it, distantly aware of what's going on but unable to directly change it any more than we can intentionally direct our organs or cells to function
Hey i was wondering this ever since the last memory shard, but did all the spirits die the moment eden shard exploded, since they all died young??
Oo that sounds so cool I can’t wait for it!
on the bright side I have been making a footnote for what I want to happen, just haven’t gotten to officially writing
suddenly analyzing the poems again made my brain go overdrive for a moment kekw
I personally see them as dormant too
Just for angst reasons I like to think a few survived for awhile but didn’t last long
Personally I think the blast wasn't a large kaboom that wiped everything & crumbled everything to dust, it blew over the balance between light & dark, causing it be more rampant throughout the realms, the closest to the blast obviously died, though. Some seasonal spirits are implied (or confirmed?) to be post-eruption
whcih ones were confirmed? for curiositys sake
I don't think any were...? I'm not sure, I could only think of Abyss as implied
Not entirely sure any were confirmed, but Abyss and Performance (due to the unfinished painting of Eden erupting in Harmony Hall) are implied. Lightseekers could also be implied to be post-apoc with what limited lore we have on them
Id say all the main spirits in gw who are interacting with the fallen city too
ah so no official confirmation?
tbh I think abyss is pre-eruption where a crew set of to the abandoned remains of the treasure reef to salvage darkstone and sell them to a still thriving valley or the bleak wasteland
as for the performance crew... I think pre eruption just that the painting has been painted when its starting to go downhill (yknow while the elders were workin on a fix)
Abyss seems mainly post-apocalyptic due the the clothing the spirits wear, but you could be right with that one
This got me thinking but isles realm being a desert confuses me, isles in real life usually have a lot of greenery like seen the the switch and incoming animation trailer. I first thought the eruption caused it (maybe wasteland being so close snuffed our any type of life left.)
But isle is the farthest from the realm, and it’s the only realm with no darkstone technology so I don’t know how a realm that was once a lively market became a barren waste
wasteland in the teasers were shown to have green grass..
Not me forgetting the existence of GW in its entirety
Isint it also canonically called“golden valley” and is the down town of valley of triumph? I remember tweet about it from sky’s offical Twitter but I can’t remember where
*wait now I remember I have a screenshot of it for evidence of an old theory I have hold on^
If we're going off of "The Elders are thier realms" theory, then perhaps the desertification of Isle was because Dawn was practically "deserted" from the other elders, most likely because they didn't support darkstone production. With Isle being a passing-by realm, and the fact that Dawn cut themselves off from the other realms, it might also be due to the fact that Dawn cannot afford to waste light on trying to preserve their realm. And so starts its desertification process
its part of the valley... "expose" but I believe a part of wasteland is a part of valley, which was once called golden valley (i think its the stretch from the end of the valley temple until the wasteland social space)
in a 7 Days of Sky tweet about concept Valley of Triumph, they said that there was a "golden valley" that was the downtown area of the city. I think the first part of Wasteland, especially what's covered in clouds when we transition to the Wasteland social space, is golden valley – or rather what is left of it.
7 Days of Sky — Valley of Triumph: https://twitter.com/thatskygame/status/1283925628371099648
there are also similarities between Wasteland and Valley architecture. here's this one comparison photo, I have to get my phone for more
this insignia is found in Valley, Wasteland, and Treasure Reef
note: the whole of the end of valley (after meditating on valley shrine) is part of the wasteland social space. I believe that is golden valley (like what al said)
The best realm #GWSweep
Oo Yeah I remember having a theory of the broken temple with the first krill originally belonging the twins. But yeah it was a part of valley now that I really think about my theory again
And omg that symbol I’ve seen smaller versions of it everywhere, even on the eden door in home space 😭 I’ve always wanted to count how many there were in the game for fun
tbh I think the second picture the building came from somewhere high up and landed onto the spot scared refugee was standing 🤔
Im grasping at straws but what if valley was joint ruled by the twins and Wasteland, and that symbol could represent that? Full diamond on top represents wasteland elder, split diamonds representing the twins, one half for each twin
I think that too, that’s exactly what I think
that... makes sense... twins in charge of entertainment and economy while dusk in charge of military and security.. huh
Could also silently show power dynamics, like who had more say on what happens in the valley, so the diamond on top being gw elder could mean they had a higher authority of the twins
its like dusk is in charge of being their keeper. keeping them in check and not let them get overboard
could be that Sunset primarily oversaw whatever was on the mountains and Dusk primarily oversaw whatever was on the lowlands
no wonder the golden valley is prosperous. and maybe also why tsadi is tired as heck
Oo yeah, could explain the downtown thing too.
It’s a little cute in a way to me? I have a whole found family dynamic with the elders so to me, I see Gw elder being a somewhat stern parental figure to the twins while the twins are just happy to joint rule valley with them
I personally imagine all the elders as equally authoritative, it’s weird for me to imagine one of them being above others . It doesn’t feel right idk I get the vibe they can all take care of themselves and are smart enough to be independent without messing up everything
yea.. hm maybe while twins have direct supervision of the highlands while dusk have direct supervision over the lowlands
with highlands being an area for the rich they crave for entertainment hence the twins, while the lowlands are for the poor, crime is rampant hence dusk is there to maintain order
I prefer to think the entirety of the realm was properous. Yea there were class differences but nobody was poor
Fair enough, I guess I meant some of them are like teachers to the others if that makes sence
Isle especially
i feel like each Elder has authority over their own realm and are equal in matters that involve multiple or all of them
but dusk has full control over military and security hence they still have some authority over the highlands
while rn headcanoning that valley twins are more well versed in economy matters especially related to entertainment hence they still have some authority in the lowlands
Ah geez would that mean pre eruption Gw elder was also called elder of the valley along with the twins or would it also be “Elder of the Golden valley”?
"Big Mike"
Thought given Dawn seemed to have been less respected at some point, there may not have been official differences in authority but unspoken implied ones
So…any guesses what that huge star is at the end of the shattering? Wanna bet they are pulling the king back into the lore or something similar…
From what I remember I don’t think we came to the conclusion of a solid idea but I could be wrong
What if it's the King's being reborn or something idk
oh right its called the working class
it makes sense that the refinery is in wasteland since its the downtown area where the working class are
while the wealthy are up above enjoying the entertainment presented to them
Ignore me I never took King lore that seriously
Eden is corrupted As of right now meaning whoever it is tried to be reborn and it failed, corrupt the realms and everyone going “Aw man my family :(“ (I hate auto correct)
What do you mean by creating the realms? You meant corrupting?
King lore is just stale crumbs we get somtimes but we savor it none the less
I do not, we are not the same.
Fair enough💀
Finding King lore stale crumb on the street & feeding it to a pigeon (you guys)
Well season of belonging sorta confirmed a big boom wiping everyone out happened, when you collect the spirits they look lost and afraid
Now hold on, the story of Belonging is that they all separated to look for a gift for Grandma, due to the nature of memories corrupting, they must've have forgotten why they originally were there. You are granted a bell from Grandma themselves to remind them & call for them to reunite the family. This is Wild
Did they find the gift
Yeah, each one of them was supposed to bring a gift to the table, Confetti brought flowers, Pleaful brought a crab, etc,
It's in their memory itself
Belonging is the least season to confirm this, Abyss is right there
Best. Poem. Evar. 👑
(Idk why I’m obsessing over this) Would Gw elder and the twins all share the tiltle of Elder of the Valley? And ancestors/spirits call Gw elder “elder of the valley” and nickname the twins as just the twins so it’s easier to refer to who they’re taking about?
I wouldn’t give the twins “Acting Elder of the valley) because they are officially elders, idk if there’s a term for this sort of thing
Perhaps they ruled separate realms but said realms were so interlocked that they seemed like one realm and treated them as one, taking different responsibilities
I like the idea that the first Krill area was previously an Elder’s temple. And that maybe the Colosseum or the WL fortress might not have been originally.
i have an exact theory on this, that it was the twins original temple, and that wind cyclone we see before entering Gw was also made by the twins to keep krill in Gw
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Here if anyone is up to reading a whole two part text block about it💀
Something that I wonder about is all those elevated roads that seem to have once existed. the Valley races and all around WL seems to contain chunks of road that fell and now lay on the ground. Perhaps it would have been more organic and less like a one way trip layout back then.
What they might have meant is that the reason the family didn’t reunite on their own is because they were separated when the blast happened? I can kinda see it, although there are better seasons for it I think
I must have learned the idea from you!
my propaganda is spreading
It's confusing with the old spirit format being spread across the realms, but I strictly think of Belonging as a pre-big-kaboom season, it's all cute & cuddly after what Lightseekers may have implied
Where do yall find these murals with the elders and elements? Prophecy cave?
Yes, Prophecy cave
I actually did a live stream going to every single mural in the game.
There's not that many actually, and only one of them comes with text.

Eden: king mural

Offtopic but Im curious, what type of government would sky be? From little research I’ve done it could be a Oligarchy? Basically a small group of people (elders and king) have control in leading, but who knows there could be like a council aswell. Just been thinking about it and wanna see if other people have different ideas

Tsadi throwing the prince like a boomerang as the other elders watch /j
Resh is divorced from Tsadi for the 12th time, Tsadi flees the scene, as Resh falls to their knees & quietly sobs the ugliest cry; the Elders watch

The Forest Elder is actually Dumbledore, proof: the hair
They reveal their true form on days of mischief
You're so funny queen, love you
Their head looking like the prophecy symbol is weird
I think that’s on purpose. Prophecy, future prince looking like the symbol because prophecy was fulfilled maybe
Or maybe the prophecy was about a certain thing the prince became one with
The figure under the diamond in the Eden mural has that aura too
Omg The king releaseing their giant pet darkstone diamond that was possibly not given a look over to take light from the entire kingdom!!! (Maybe)
Prince slipped on a banana this is so sad!
The other elders not being there makes me think either this was a king only ceremony or they excluded
Also the king in the memeory confuses me, like are they being sucked into the diamond?
Is the kind in the middle of making a worm whole from being sucked in and thus making the pocket demisions for the elders? Who knows?
Got smacked like a baseball
Either King was gone, born/reborn, or they were present but the nature of these frozen memories doesn't allow for much to be recorded/remembered
"SLAM DUNK-!"
True, a picture can paint a thousands words but a cutscene would help a whole lot more
It might have been the creation/powering of the big diamond, which was a different point in time from its burst
The King simply ceased to exist ala Madoka Kaname becoming the Law of Cycle
Yeah true, I’m still unsure why the elders arnet atleast included in the mural, like that’s a big event
May also indicate the move was the king’s idea and their idea only, but I doubt that
It does sound plausible

So the poem tells me that the energy captured in the dark stones really still belonged to the stars no matter how the elders tried to rationalize the dark stones as their own creation.
I personally think that the Prophecy was a warning, like, the season mantra being “beware of the prophecy” makes me thing it was basically them saying “dude, don’t” but they did it anyways
There’s so many possibilities to think of so we’ll never know for sure
Maybe it was energy gathered from exploiting the wildlife and logging & mining but still that is all ultimately energy that belongs to The Light
And then that’s also where “if only they had listened” would have come from
There is that ominous wind or swirl of stars like they are about to fall, and then below that deep in the clouds a krill

Also this may be me just throwing ideas out there but it’d be interesting if the diamond was meant to be powered with light directly from the orbit too, and that image of its creation wasn’t light coming out, it was light coming in. And when the diamond exploded it scattered beings from the orbit away on the land (winged lights) and that’s why the beginning of the game asks you to bring them back home

And... i think thats it
I love this idea too and I think maybe that’s why the diamond had to be up high on the mountain peak! They wanted to harness that mega light beam and draw energy directly from the stars! This idea also might inform why the King would be directly above the diamond involved in some kind of beam of doom action.
@plush rain the challenge is completed kekw
o_o wow
Congrats, you get NOTHING!
I got something out of it
A break from doing anything tiring lmao
I swear im not a workaholic and have totally slept
you get a free hug from me
Yeaah I also get that impression since it seems like the creatures flying to orbit are leaving the diamond directly
that’s a nice interpretation that I never considered
It kinda reminds me of Frankenstein in a way though in the “man tries to play god and everyone has to pay the consequences” but unlike Frankenstein I think the king would have had better intentions 😭
Dont hurt me I have your name listed there!
i got home like 5 mins ago so im spitting what ive seen (and what many, MANY other people have seen) and lurking
-poem is a tad longer (more lore
)
-“unseen fractures crumble in the chasm” makes it seem like the diamond wasnt meant to explode (which it probably wasnt in the first place.) what is the chasm, though?
-“reaching to light and to dark” is this like, the elders willingly taking in dark energy/using darkstone or whatever to try and calm the eden diamond along with their light?
So, all those memories, the jellies, the crabs, they were all migrating to the diamond instead of the light? Like it was a decoy to ensnare their energy?
@tepid veldt my interpretation kek--
I guess maybe not a decoy on purpose but it ended up serving that
It mentions “the stars under fathomless weight” was the diamond absorbing the megabird too?
I think the diamond blew up because it couldn’t handle anymore though, which ultimately threw off the balance of things away
woah
thank you! that was very helpful. pretty much have the same surface level thoughts as you i havent got many theories/whatevers about the elders although the infighting seems cool
Mmmmm poem
Huh if I try to group them into two makes even more sense
First and Second line same things as my interpretation
Third and Fourth same as well
But for Fifth amd Sixth.. possible that it refers to the memories found inside the shards?
i was thinking about that, it didn’t explicitly say where said memories would be so i got a tad confused
minus third and fourth lines, the poem seems to be mostly abt the diamond, so i guess its inferred?
I am beginning to think that the diamond captured and held all those life forms prisoner in a void, a lot like they appear in the memories, and like how we experience after death in Eden when we meet the glow kid/fallen King. Upon shattering, I guess the void space remains, but those life forms now only exist as the frozen memories we saw, suffocated holographic memories of the final moments of the imprisoned creatures. “Carrying the memory of all that was held, in the final moment of shattering”
the memory of all that was held
Before I had a theory where the red diamond stores both light and memory due to its location (at the light beam where creatures go to ascend and be reborn)
And because if this it became overloaded
So the question remains, was it better that the diamond shattered or would it have been better if it continued functioning?
Darkstone may not be able to handle the effects of having both functions active (memory storage and light/energy storage and conductor)
As normally darkstone is either refined into power diamonds and used as a battery or upgraded into memory cubes which stores memories
Personally I think the idea of the diamond was bound to always fail on theory, it even feels a bit cruel
Perhaps fathomless weight could refer to an emotional/moral burden?
They created a cosmic ouroboros!
It was pointed out awhile ago that the eden diamond seemed much more rushed and imperfect than usual power diamonds
unrelated (well kind of not really) but i was thinking about my eden headcannon again (basically i think that we are inside the eden diamond when we die)
it kind of feels like youre “moving on a different timeline” if that makes sense, like everything is happening all around you but youre sort of in your own headspace until you hug the child. the eden rocks in the background are falling super fast and we are super slow.
i just thought of this, but..are we in the process of becoming a new memory? only to stop it because the child is there?
I always thought it was implied that we are inside the diamond when we die? Unable to Ascend until someone else comes to our aid
Dunno about the memory part though, don't really think so but it would be interesting I think? There's definitely more frozen memories than the game can allow
Help I read that as a ship 😭
Dog x Rock 🥺
New divorce timeline
The light boi we hug at the end is probably a memory too
@tepid veldt here are my collected thoughts if you're interested
I never believed it but I totally agree now
poem dropped while i was in school so if anybody has their interpretations of it please ping me, id love to read them
id also like to ask how much lorechat lost their minds when it dropped
i wonder if the
flight bird caretaker's birds ever go looking for them
My interpretation of the overall experience is that the King tried to draw power down from Orbit to bind it into the diamond, but that’s their own life force out there, the King’s perhaps most of all due to the unique nature of the King’s being. So, drawing power from the stars included the King, and so the diamond also absorbed the King while it was supercharging way beyond its limit.
Like imagine sky kids gaining winged light power by peeling stars out of the sky. We might get a lot of power but that’s our own essence we’d be tapping. Eventually we would ourselves become a winged light and become absorbed into ourselves and be like the King, kind of deleted from the world.
what an awful day for my phone to be broken!
Is the Eden diamond “man” made? I was always under the impression that it was a natural thing and treated as a kind of holy grounds. I thought the smaller power diamonds were man made to try and copy the Eden diamond on a smaller scale. Is it implied to be manmade?
I guess. All those huge pipes seem to be related to it
🤝
question: i know it's probably a strange question; but, do you think sky could have some kind of inspiration from religious history? Vault elder, season of enchantment and season of performance do show some religious traces - (like journey did ((and does follow some similarities in storyline))) I don't know how to explain without my question being messy but yeah.
the cycle of rebirth is reminiscent of the cycle in Hinduism. there are also some Buddhist inspirations as we can see from Tom Zhao's concept of flame. the Prairie bell towers are also reminiscent of a Buddhist structure I can't remember the name of right now
Tibet?
Whats in this castle?
nobody knows
The king probably lived there at some point, but I doubt anyone’s in there now
Imagine if there was though, that’d be cool
some structures in prairie are really similar to stupas and gumbas(probably the Buddhist structures you were talking about) or just monasteries in my opinion
ive seen them in nepal and tibet and thats the first thing i thought about when i played sky
So I just read all this and everything after it... and iirc the measurement I went off of for my skid's height was 3'2"... idk if that helps. Also I'm extremely not a math person so I'm just going to assume your calculations are correct, and if they are then how tall is 64 feet?
pin?
OH!!! HI
This helps free up space in my other pin for future stuff 💕💕 thank you!!
Oh mai.... I just read the newest poem and my head hurts but thanks tgc for a Lore crumb for once

swag, thanks Sagomay
Well its cubic feet so idk what a good comparison for volume is lol
Oh nvm lol.... I forgot we were tryna get volume
Your estimate for the Sky kid's height was scary close
Bahdhan i just did your math backwards
I can't believe we finally got the sixth shattering poem
Ah, but as so many famous singers have noted, love hurts 🎵
I think the con-posting delayed it considerably
Good point
Yeah, there was a lot of good stuff going on at TGS. Sometimes we swap things around so each can get their fair share of air time
YEAH makes sense but its rlly funny conceptually
happy con posting 💕💕
eden calamity
happy con posting!!
Alright, the poem is pretty cool, doesn't solve the issue of the "Eden Star" 3D model being so low detail that no one can tell what it's supposed to be or represent (unless someone here already figured it out while I was gone), but it's still pretty cool regardless
Not swallowed by the con posting, though every time #news or #vault-of-socials lit up I had a heart attack
I mean, I thought the wait was worth it. Poems are fun because there are so many different interpretations of them
where can i read the poems?
Bare at the precipice: Precipice could be interpreted as peak, so I think this means the area around the diamond and the Eden Mountain was desolate even before the Calamity.
Unseen fractures crumble in the chasm: I’m pretty sure this means the cracks we see in the Eden Diamond.
The stars under fathomless weight: This means “the stars are under great stress and are about to fall” which means that the Eden Diamond has something to do with the stars falling.
Reaching to light and to dark: I think the Eden diamond both attracted light, and darkness to feast on that light (like a buffet)
Carrying memory of all that was held: So it’s confirmed! The Eden diamond stored memories.
In the final moment of shattering: So this is the final time the Eden diamond shattered
Sagomay just pinned them. See pinned messages
thanks
Good! Now we have to find the volume of an ordinary power diamond. Try the ones around Prairie.
Or, the “carrying memory” line could mean the ancient memories in the Void of Shattering.
Although the Elder infighting theory is interesting, I’m not sure it’s that referenced in the poem
My crude brightness job shows that it’s more or less what we would expect the King’s mask to be shaped like.
I have a crazy theory on this season: But I first have to ask: does the Void of Shattering refer to both the red diamond season guide and the place where we get the cosmetics for this season?
Perhaps fathomless weight could refer to an emotional/moral burden?
Oh yeah I do see it's the shape of the King
But like, that "star" has more to it than just the mask shape and it's everything else about it that doesn't remotely resemble anything
This is actually a gripe I have with plenty - tho not all - of Sky storytelling. In order for symbolism to work the symbols themselves must be clear, you can make the most intricate and carefully crafted symbolism ever but if you take all the pictures and blur them to the point where they become borderline unreadable then it completely destroys the point of symbolism
You're supposed to decipher the hidden meaning using symbols, not decipher the symbols themselves
Sorry I'm not sure if any of this makes sense or if I'm making myself clear here
I have a theory borderlining on crazy: But here goes nothing!
I personally believe "the stars" refers to the Elders themselves, since they're the stars that fell
But in the Performance second quest, we see that 'stars' refer to lots of things related to the light
True, but the Elders are the ones present in the sixth memory, so I personally assume it's gotta be them most likely
Still wanna hear your theory tho
Using out of game knowledge from concept art made us better able to interpret what the game art represents, but you’re right. Players I chat with in the game and people in comments on social media usually have no grasp of the lore even if they’re trying. I didn’t understand a thing until I studied pins from here.
Even the concepts don't help much because like ¾ of them aren't even canon anymore, sometimes they even directly contradict the current lore
don't mind me, just thinking about something, but given that the shard in eden is raining down shards all the time and appears to be broken itself, could this potentially mean that eventually it could stop?
There's plenty of theories regarding that, but one odd thing is that the Eden Diamond we see in the Ancient Memories seems to be more cracked than the Eden Diamond we see in the present
I guess its true volume is much greater than its apparent size viewed from outside.
Mhm, I get that but would it not eventually have to stop its rain upon eden and the realms? (however long that may take)
makes me wonder what a sky without eden would be like
Unfortunately, the shards don’t come from the diamond itself. Whenever it explodes it just types /spawn shard into the chat bar and they appear magically /j
AH OFC how could i be so blind
maybe our futile efforts are working
but the cracks have disappeared, meaning the diamond must've gotten stronger
Shouldn't we look for the diamonds that the abyss mural is referring to since those are the ones you based the equation off of?
I guess so
oh no
I'm gonna try and do this myself and see if I come up with a similar number
Did the cracks actually tone down over time? I don't think we get close enough to the present diamond to see if it's as shattered (and it looks maybe a bit too bright to see clearly), plus remember how everything in the Ancient Memories is intentionally scaled up for dramatic effect
Lol someday ill remember to take a picture of one with a size reference
Let me know what you get im kinda curious to see how much it varies since i did just assume the other dimension i was missing matched the side it was kinda paired with
My feeling is it’s the same model in Eden (and the little void of shattering entity) but A it vibrates really fast and B our angle is off to see the cracks. Those glitch screenshots in #eden-spoilers when the camera goes up make it show more cracks.
Yeah exactly, maybe it's just a matter of perspective
The Void of Shattering theory
This whole thing rests on the premise that the King fell into the Eden diamond. I can see it quite clear in the sixth memory: the star king symbol seemingly descending into it.
I believe that the Eden diamond didn't have any real personality or sentience beforehand, it was just a tool. But when the King fell into it, it fused into something weird: the Shattering Guide.
The Shattering Guide is the personified form of the Eden Diamond (it has little relation to the King). The evidence here is that they both have a similar shape: a cracked diamond with another tiny diamond in the middle.
The Dark Home where we buy this season's cosmetics, and I think it's inside the Void of Shattering. After all, the void effect is similar to the time we got swallowed by the leviathan. In general, I think if we're in an overwhelming force of darkness, we go to the void area.
As for the ancient memories themselves, I believe we're collecting them for the Void of Shattering, just like the spirit memories. My evidence for this is that the memories all seem to be in different parts of Eden, so it could be memories that it wants. They're also scattered all around the Sky world, meaning that the Shattering Guide is unable to get the memories themselves.
Now im wondering if its a consistent scale through each memory and im kinda glad i can't access them all atm because i don't have time for that right not lol
Nice Abyss tie in. I forgot about that moment!
yes i have somehow given a personality to the shattering guide
as we all should, shattering guide deserves a personality
I like the idea of a forgotten soul who just wants to learn more about the world.
blorbo the Void of Shattering
Also, here's an interesting connection:

OMG THE POEM IS HEREEE
- honk * I MISSED THE * honking * DISCUSSION BECAUSE OF MY EXAMM
so where my previous theory that this is the second time the diamond's exploded actually was correct [errrr, i assume so at least, don't quote me on that]
i had a theory/au where basically the season of shattering is the diamond exploding a second or third time, the first time causing eden's destruction and the corruption of the crabs and other animals because of the seeds, and this is the second time
the elders tried to stop the explosion but were destroyed physically and now that's all left is their memories, but i still have an AU where the memories of ancient darkness/ancient light we see in shattering are literally the shattered remains of memories from the first explosion.
I like the "idea" that this happened a second time, the first time was said to be devastating, right now it is tame (shard eruptions landing on 1 spot per day) because it had used most of it's energy during the first time
yeah i think so as well
if anything, it's showing us that us skykids efforts are somewhat working. we're getting closer to freeing eden. but it has to get worse first
i'm still wondering.... what are we freeing eden of? the diamond? are we finally going to shatter the diamond? or are we gonna destroy the darkness?
methinks in season of aurora, we get to see what happened to the spirits pre-destruction-of-eden era. or heck, maybe we do shatter the diamond or at least do some considerable damage to it.
i headcanon that the king is trapped inside the diamond. when we die, we enter a memory and see his past self, the shiny boi, before ascending to orbit. we have to free him if we are to cleanse eden and and free it from the darkness.
some concept arts depicted a king boss fight, and i like to believe that's what would happen. the prince is trapped inside, and we have to destroy the corrupted king's body to free the prince
or something idk my au is ridiculous
as someone who also made that theory a while back, i would LOVE to see it.
i made a fan boss fight [i can ping you to it if you want lol] where the King is defeated by us burning the darkness away from him and the megabird showing him the light
You mean the one we hug before orbit? If so then why would the prince merge with us?
it's a memory, or an echo of the prince, a communion with his past light. it's our link to megabird and allows us to ascend
yeah, can u ping it? id love to read/see
Do we let go of the prince before we get reborn?
idk i feel like, we sorta absorb his imprint, after which we are out of the memory and can instead ascend. idk i didnt think too hard about it
my theory of the kid we absorb [or whatever the heck we do] in wherever it's called before orbit, i've always thought of it as like the light in our bodies, like the dark one is our physical body but the light one is representing the candle we hold/the light
that is literally my theory about skykid composition
light is the soul and life force, darkness is the physical form.
without the light, the darkness consumes them and they turn into statues. when full of light, like in orbit, they glow and become invulnerable
i still don't know what it's called before orbit, for all sakes and purposes i'll just call it the void for now lol
oh yeah it's confirmed actually, you can see in the memory that the elders are being blown away by the crystal
I possibly thought it was just random spirits but no it's the elders whose trying to destroy the shard, bruhhhh
there's also this enlightened state in concept art which i think is pretty cool
i do something in it with my fic lmao
yeah i think it's really cool
Perhaps that was supposed to be used in the last flight
possibly
The pity room?
the void
a state between light and darkness, where they exist in balance.
Really? I’m not sure, everything there is shady
one of my AUs/theories about the king is that the prince is the king, but just younger when he first arrived to the kingdom of sky, or when he first descended from the kingdom on high [or whatever the shattered kingdom in orbit is called]. i was thinking the prince is the first skykid, and was killed prematurely by the golden wasteland elder [in i think one of the prophecy murals, it shows what looks like the golden wasteland elder stabbing/killing who we assume to be the prince]. In his rage in undeath, the king caused the destruction of eden by using the crystal as a phylactery.
Are you sure it was used as a phylactery? That doesn’t seem right to me
oh nono it's just a theory/au thingie i have qwq
But a phylactery is like a box thing
that's a pretty common theory that the prince in the king lol. a corrupted skykid
also funny thing in my crossover, but Void is actually a Light element, it's associated with gravity/antimatter energy and the emptiness that lies behind reality. It's the most Dark aligned of the Light elements, if that makes sense.
yeah i see that
phylactery can be anything as long as it contains the soul of the lich as far as i know lol qwq but again it's just an AU i have qwq
Oh no a phylactery as in the light thing?
A phylactery is a Jewish box worn in prayer so I got confused so I looked it up and found the light version
in a storyboard i'm gonna do, when he's cornered, the king is gonna try to escape to the shattered kingdom by flying upwards [since he is a grown up skykid] but he'll be attacked by the skykids/winged lights
I’m not Jewish so I don’t know the meanings behind the practice but yeah
oh i was thinking of the other meaning of phylactery, like from dnd
Yeah I looked into it a bit more and saw that so I understand now lol
his cape turns out to be a pair of massive wings
exactly what i was thinking/drawing lol, but in my version the wings look more like angel wings so he's more like....... fallen angel/one winged angel type of thing lol
Can sky kids grow up? Or are they like kokiri from loZOoT?
sephiroth type of stuff lol
oh that's not me, that's how it is in Destiny. the reason the crossover works so well is because so many things line up and are similar. it's the purple energy Skye was holding in the art i sent.
dunno, we assume so but idk, might make a theory on that lol....
And our little chest light is the skykids equivilant to a fairy(but not as annoying as Navi)
there's a king aligned with the Darkness who has massive wings and the ability to corrupt others in Destiny too. these games have too much in common as long as you can look past the differences in gameplay and style.
Some believe they can, but the rebirth acts stop the aging process
Oooo thats a good way to think about it
are they actually immortal, or do they just not seem to age because they die all the time and every rebirth resets it?
a question that is also applicable to destiny i swear it's driving me insane
Also being new to the lore train, are there anything/theories that are just considered correct at this point? Like a theories that everyone just agrees with?
The destiny and sky thing is just haunting you at this point
IT REALLY IS I SWEAR THEY'RE THE SAME GAME
Sky=destiny without weapons
Or destiny with more arson
I don’t play destiny but I think I get it’s vibe
destiny has the literal power of the sun as an element so yeah i think first is more applicable
Sky kids l’iter can only commit arson like that’s their only defence
Their whole purpose is to go around burning stuff lmao
Sky: children of the light
The game where magical light children fly around setting fire to things
Krill's Memory: "Ascending towards darkness A distorted reflection The hunter relentless to sate Insatiable hunger"
The Krills have ascended from the dark and they've been desired to eat the light? Maybe that's why they've been living in the Golden Wasteland but the real question is how did they get to the Golden Wasteland?
Whale/Fishes' Memory: "The distant call beyond reach Echoes swallowed in a scouring silence Empty light scattering the fragments Of a spirit sundered in the break"
I don't know about this memory but it could be the marine life. 'Empty light scattering the fragments of a spirit sundered in the break" possibly relates to the spirits(or not) that they've been split apart or if it's just the fishes and whales have been split apart? I'm kinda dumb to theorized
Elders Memory: "Bare at the precipice Unseen fractures crumble in the chasm The stars under fathomless weight Reaching to light and to dark Carrying memory of all that was held In the final moment of shattering"
So the elders came the shard on purpose so they would likely to stop it? the stars were falling from reaching the light to the dark? what does it really mean by 'Carrying memory of all that was held In the final moment of shattering?"
now give them a giant flaming hammer and see what they do
Heheheh I’d like to see that
A moth rampaging with a giant flaming hammer would be a glorious sight
Hahaha
For the krill part: (following the "Elders are their realms theory/headcanon") I think it is because Dusk is corrupted themselves, thus influencing their realm
Elders memory: There is a possibility that the elders would have gotten memory loss lost something that means to them alot (maybe their realms' ancestor population?) and the phrase "Carrying memory of all that was held in the final moment of Shattering" tells me that they "held" their memories before the "shattering" of the red diamond
Not sure about the rest
Forgot you were an artiste
lmao all g
i try
huh... I see though it would be a theory but that's a good theory perhaps I should research
Good luck finding the start of that theory pal! There are lots of theories and headcanons regarding it
yeah lorechat is quite the iceberg
myst i love your pfp but why is the knight crying
Someone got into this temple in the green forest's caves?
I'm trying
i dont think u can
The activation button under the rocks seems working
I want to put there some light source
And try to get there with oob
Highest point of the last memory with elders
Is that a king? /rt
Do you think that we could atleast get crumbs of the main lore on season of aurora or nah?
from where?
Wait actually- oh wait beta stuff wasn't allowed here-
Got here
There long corridor
I think it can be used for the next season
There's nothing behind that temple, the rocks had to be added at one point during Belonging to avoid confusion as it was never intended for something. You could glitch to use it as a practice room though
Imagine they add something there in the future
Maybe, but I doubt it would be related for next season, it's been that way since 2019
Probably
Idk
My current state of mood for the past 2 weeks I think
Trying so hard to survive highschool
for the manta memory i feel like they went to eden because they thought the diamond was pretty and got crushed
Howdy lore chat
yo
so i remember seeing some concept art [can't find it now for some reason] of the progression of a manta turning into a krill, and i thought it was pretty interesting
Where did you get the Diamond height in feet?
I got 64.454784 cubic feet by the way. I’m wondering if we should just round to the nearest whole number.
i think it was a whale? or something?
These? I don't think the creature was ever specified (yes, a manta is next to it in comparison)
nono it was somethin else
It’s so pretty
I think it's neat
Yhellow
So here's the full timeline i think
King is the first Skid to descend
He becomes king and something happens to where GW elder kills him or incapacitates him
I think that the king caused Eden's destruction
Shard's first explosion destroys Eden and causes the corruption of the animals by the seeds of darkness
Abyss civilisation tries to extract the light from the animals in order to purge the corruption
Destruction of Eden slowly kills all life in GW
Stars descend from the kingdom in order to try to fix Eden, many fail
Could I tell you about my hc about sky and journey?
Why not?
let's hear it!
Yaya
In my hc journey takes place long after sky, so long that even all the light plants have died, and the wanderers you control are a new form of skid/ancestor/thing
That’s new, I’ve usually heard Journey taking place after Sky. How would Skykid civilization disappear entirely?
Probably just natural decay, no civilization lasts forever. Maybe the skids just up and leave, who can say
Very cool. Journey could feasibly be an alternate timeline of Sky where the Prince never arrived and the civilization went on the same trajectory but in like 10 times the number of years. In Sky they invent dark diamond tech with Prince’s elemental abilities gained from the trials. This allowed them to leap frog technological advancement from Prairie manual labor times to Valley floating districts and then Vault memory archives and space time warping.
Its probably just due to rounding because i used a measurement of a measurement any error in that first measurement will be on every single one of my measurements i thought about redoing it because there were a lot of little things that could have gone wrong whether it was my measurement of the sky kid or if hadn't been exactly a third of a sky kid or something its one of those things where if i had to write a lab report thats what id put down for percent error
I mean the percent yeild between your calculations and mine is 99.75% so i dont think its going to make that big of a difference considering one of the side measurements is just an estimate
Probably something else but I remember the tamed krill fan art inspired by the creature in the Switch trailer.
I’d love to be able to ride a krill, maybe like riding worms in dune
That sounds cool, is it in the fan art chat?
Now I want a cowboy hat for my sky kid
yee haw
The diamond is about 5 and a third sky kids tall, and my sky kid is 38 inches tall, so I multiplied 38 by 5.3 and then turned the result into feet
I'm just so frustrated cuz I'm getting a different number everytime.... I'll have to redo the calculations today
I'm surprised this didn't happen during the 3 days of math
Remember that time Nasa crashed the Mars Climate Orbiter after a small mistake when converting imperial measurements to metric measurements? 👁️ 👄 👁️
Thank goodness this is just an estimate and not anything for real world application or we'd all be krilled because my math is terrible
I prefer just theorizing about story and not figuring out the height of everything in sky
The reason we're tryna find the volume of the inner diamond is so we can find out how much light was used to power it
that's lorechat for ya
Ahhh
Hopefully an estimate of how much power the diamond requires can be another piece to the puzzle of how it was created
It's a little drastic but to be fair I enjoy overcomplicating things
Just looked it up, I give you how to find the area of a diamond
Multiply the altitude of the diamond times the length of one of its sides. The altitude is the distance between any two opposite sides of the diamond. So if the diamond has an altitude of 8 inches and its sides are each 10 inches long, its area is 8 * 10 = 80 inches squared.
The thing is that it's two pyramids on top of each other so it's not a 2 dimensional diamond .... wish it was that easy 🥲
We're all gonna get krilled anyways, it's just a matter of when
You are wise Strega, very wise words

yeah we can calculate two pyramids
Of course it's possible I'm not saying that it isnt... what we've been discussing the last 24 hours is whether our calculations are correct or not because we're all getting different numbers
I am very wise. The wisest ever even
the fact of the matter is that it'd be almost impossible to get exact measurements in game. you'd have to get the model itself
We should probably just have everyone show their work and compare, that way we can better gather why all the answers are different
Yeah... that's why it's an extreme estimate. Especially since the base (middle) of both pyramids in the diamond are askew, and thus its not actually symmetrical
Are we talking about math
WitHOUT WES
If Wes can help us please bring Wes
Now we should find the volume of a regular, Abyss power diamond. There is plenty of them
Now that you're here this is the math I was hoping you could look at
im more curious about how you'll figure this out
I'm concerned cuz it's such a different number....
Eventually 🥲 This volume calculation is a step closer to that
I think a problem is that they did not convert skykid to feet until the very end.
Yeah but also the total height of the diamond was used instead of a single measurement of the pyramid.... I fixed this in another calc but got a similar number one decimal off of this final number
I tried to do it the way @rocky granite did it but with the fixed height measurement
I might’ve made some mistakes on the first part. Now, the answer I got is 325.16. I believe it’s just rounding semantics at this point.
I see.... I'll try to do both calculations again with no rounding then
The answer to this dilemma seems simple: Cubic feet is different then regular feet. 1 regular foot is 12 inches, while 1 cubic foot is 1728 cubic inches. I don’t think the “sk” unit of measurement is that useful.
Without any rounding I got 32.4266666676 with the sky kid method
Did you forget to apply the other half by multiplying it in two? If so, then you get 32*2, or 64, which is my and Kat’s exact answer.
LEO I AM SPBBING BASED OFF THE FIRST TWO IMAGES I WAS EXPECTING A PRETTY POEM AND THEN LOST IT
Kat's answer wasn't correct because Kat used the 5.3 total height of the diamond instead of the height of only one pyramid, that's why your answers are twice as large as mine... I think
I did a final calculation, and got 323.46
Let’s average it all out to 324, how about that?
Ohhh that's the number I got in my first calc.... that might be it! I'm still really confused as to why we get one decimal off when using the sky kid method tho...
Sus
oh no
the math returns
Sorry we're almost done here
I did the calc again from the first whiteboard and I got 325.1674074134..... I'm so confused
I'M SORRY I SWEAR I HAD ALL THE INTENTION TO MAKE SOMETHING SERIOUS BUT 😭😭 I RAN OUT OF MOTIVATION AND GAVE UP
It was hilarious I appreciated it

I think it’s just different methods of rounding. Let’s come to a consensus and round to 324.
Why do you think the sky kid method gives a diff number? It makes me wonder if anything we're doing is correct
don't know if anyone said this here before but
Yeahhhhh! I also realized that and am incredibly excited :} you could make an argument that’s not stargazer but voyager is pretty easy to recognize !
Is it Alef???
Yes! I'm so excited too, everything is heading me to think that the animation project is gonna be about Alef's first days in the kingdom
slips into the window I heard lore and flew in
AAA OMW THIS IS AMAZINGGG
Some people think it's them, there's also the fact that the kid in the switch trailer has a light on their chest, whereas the other spirits don't. Let me find the post where I saw that
Oh my gosh you guys this is revolutionary 👀👀👀
I actually predicted this ages ago with the switch trailer I need to find my message again
YEHA the kid has a chest light like ours!
local desert merchants found random child after falling from sky, more at 9
#lore-discussion-spoilers message found it, I love accidentally prophesizing things
If the kid is covering up where the chest light would be.... and the other kids dont have it.... it sounds like the kid sees that they're the only one who doesn't have it, and is embarrassed ? Could this kid be the first sky kid because of this?
I remember thinking like “oh so this might be abt the king, cool! i was hoping for more personaloty details on them eventually!” and then realized “THAT MEANS THERE MIGHT BE PROPHECY SPIRITS IN THERE” [and then started foaming at the mouth]
omg krii post…
omg that would be so cute, I know already that I'm gonna love Alef when the project comes out
yeah that’s the consensus we’re looking at!!
What confuses me tho is that in the spirit memory in-game, the spirits find Alef by the big stone stairs that lead up to the temple. In the animation trailer, that seems to be where they're taking Alef? Doesn't make much sense if that's not where they found the kid
Yeah that’s the only problem but it could be happening after!
Maybe they are taking some liberties in the animation project and they changed the location of Alef's landing place, it would make more sense because it seems like Isle wasn't an isle at that time and there was land where now there's a sea
Maybe they found them at the spot where Home would be at the time? 0_0 that would be great and also more accurate lore-wise
Ohhh yeah..... but then which side would be considered canon?
Cuz if Alef had fallen where the stargazer found them.... they would have fallen in the middle of that village or merchant stop or whatever it was
LORECHAT MATHS EPISODE 4 OR SOMETHING IDK
MUAHAHA
hmm I would say the animation project version. If it really is about Alef, and the skykid in the voyager's memory is also him, I'm eager to think that tgc has decided to change some aspects of his origins and make them more interesting for an animation short. The "two merchants find a kid in a remote land and decide to take them to a small village with an elder than may have some answers" storyline sounds better cinematographically than a "two random people find a kid on the floor conveniently close to a wise elder that may help them" plot
Imagine if they’re not the King
A side note: Before the sixth memory, I didn’t like the King, but now I think they had a major influence in the Sky world
That too, I don't think that Alef landing in the middle of the village would be that appealing to the story
I dont think ive been so hyped about something in ages, cant wait to watch you guys tear it apart frame by frame
I've always sort of thought of it as Alef being a sweet innocent kid before they were crowned king, and the king only caused whatever atrocities happened after they were infected by the darkness
You bet I will, I'm gonna be rewatching it every single hour when it comes out
For all we know this could be our biggest Lore jump in ages... our best documentation. There's not much you can hide in an animation, a lot of info is sure to be unearthed
Maybe in the switch trailer, the kid is reaching to the sky becausr thats where they came from, they dont know it but they can sense it.
I just love that, an agender kid that fell from the sky and was fathered by everyone in the kingdom because they had this huge power and the ability to liberate all of them, but ended up being selfish and vengeful and became to be their downfall, making the kingdom wait for another kid of the same kind to actually save them for real this time
.....wait they are the same
My gosh
Also if we get to see Alef with their iconic crown in the animation project I'm gonna flip. I have so many high hopes for this, the hype is reaaal
Oh no
One day, there will be a special child who will save the kingdom. It took one to bring them to prosperity, who also lead it to its downfall. So there will be one yet who will save them again.
There are lots of skykids out there, but one will be destined to reach the end of eden.
(Yeah, au fanfic go brrrrr, its rotting my brain)
A child who is brave, compassionate, and humble. They may have powers that surpass all, but only in dire times will they use them. Because it would only separate them from their friends.
I wonder what's going to happen
Wafo it is
Cause it's a bit of a stretch to go from a kid that fell from the sky, to being a literal prince
Maybe the sky society already had a messiah prophecy... and when this kid fell from the sky they were like "yep crown them king"
counterpoint, I believe they Did Not Cause the Atrocities and everyone assumes they did for some reason, I think they just failed stopping them
Honk
I think that the king was the prince from the kingdom above sky
And he fell as a skykid
Maybe... the common theory here is that the King got greedy for darkstones power and somehow ruined the kingdom with this massive diamond because of that .... I'm open to seeing If that's not the case
possibly a hot take but maybe everything went pear-shaped because important decisions were left up to a child who fell from the sky with no leadership experience
like i'm being humorous about it but imagine if you woke up with no idea who or where you were and were told by a bunch of strangers that you're the chosen one and all that... that's a lot of pressure to put on a kid, and even if they're doing their best that's... yikes
Pre-first fall is quite the mystery... probably the period of sky history we know the least about... good theory tho
One of my theories is that the prince is the prince of the kingdom above sky, and that the reason they chose him to become king is because he had to complete all the trials and stuff
And maybe the first destruction of Eden was so powerful that not only did it destroy Eden and corrupt all the animals and stuff, but it also literally shattered the kingdom above sky
Everyone says it is because of concept art that might no longer be canon but I can’t think of any evidence for it in game? Idk I’m a big fan of like, challenging my perspectives on things and not letting myself just assume, so that’s why
Reminds me of
"I am not the messiah."
"HE IS THE MESSIAH"
I always thought that the pre-sky kingdom was in orbit somewhere out there in space or smthn... if it was elsewhere then that would explain why we don't have access to it anymore
I wanna do a joke theory
It's all about Pompeii
We all live in post explosion Pompeii now
Considering the amount of judaism influence that the game has it's wouldn't a far stretch that that happened. I also love the implications of giving a newborn such a big responsability. Or even how the elders were making all the decisions for the prince, it just makes you think about how much Alef's behaviour and future was influenced by the preassure and ideas they gave them
Agreed. As scientists to some degree it's important that we pursue truth, not confirmation bias.... in the case of this game (less rigidly) that would mean considering all perspectives and challenging our own ideas... very much agreed
In concept arts the souls in the sky kingdom were actually from the real world, on our way to the light
I actually have a sky lore playlist and the song Pompeii is in there because it reminds me so much about Sky, I tried to share it here but it seems that I can't share spotify links
I have a religious theory about sky buuuut i won't talk about that one qwq
I still very much enjoy the circle of angels reference in orbit tho
My fave art piece
The theory of the prince being the ruler of the first kingdom that fell from the sky and then crowned king actually makes a lot of sense because they are all depicted the same way in the murals. That would explain the consistent golden sky kid motif.
Imma go listen lol
this reminds me of the idea I had where prophecy guide was adopted by the others as a kid and raised to be their leader (hence that one promo piece where they’re shorter) and it’s supposed to be a parellel for the king, I love parallels
Another honkin theory i can come up with is that the prince and the king aren't the same person, but rather father and son
The king was the ruler of the kingdom above sky, and he sent his son down to rule sky
Then his son, the prince, grew up to become the ruler of eden
Trust me I got theories for DAYS
Yea but we arent going anywhere with the numbers at this point as far as i can tell besides i wouldnt want to use this estimate as anything besides an estimate since i had to assume the length of one of the side because i just dont have a screenshot that would tell me the length of that missing side
The accuracy of the estimates measurements is less of a problem than the assumptions i had to make to get it
Yea i think this all looks good but we have two pyramids so you have to double it
A quick word of advice, since I can’t really think of any evidence for this, it’s probably best to call it a headcanon, so you don’t confuse people by accident
I did double it... on the third line (5.088 x 2 = 10.176 sk^3)
Ah actually i think i did it wrong haha i think i used the full height if the shard instead of half like i should have
Originally i wanted to split it vertically instead of horizontally because i thought it would end up with nicer numbers maybe but i got fed up with having to assume that third length and just did it the normal looking way so good job lol
best of luck finding the Eden diamond’s volume btw! will not participate since I don’t think it’d help much, but would love to be proven wrong!
Im excited too hehe.... I think we've agreed on 324 ft^3 but I want to have my father proofread my math to see if we missed anything.... will get back to you 👍 👍
Love the way we agreed on 2 different theories and one of them is literally "they made a kid that fell from the sky a king despite no leadership skills present"
hi lore chat! i saw this art on twitter, idk if it's gonna let me send the link, so if it doesn't, i'll just share the pic!
Im sharing it here cause it might help us all with the shard memories lore ngl, it's really good
@rigid mural HEY MY FRIEND DREW THAT
VELA SWEEP
VELA SWEEP
Bi flag
it's like, all the shard memories into one picture, it's very well drawn and i feel it should be shared to lore chat cause we love sky lore XD
diversity win the eden diamond that blew the elders up is bisexual happy bi week
i'm late but Vela sweep!
also i hope it's okay with Vela for me sharing their art here ^^' if they'd like me to remove message, i will do so.
YEHAAAA I ADORE THIS PIECE THE COLORS ARE SO GOOD, watched it develop and aughhhh it’s so 💔the composition, the feeling, the poses etc
fun fact! the light creatures go clockwise while the dark creatures go counterclockwise, this is a neat detail that they pointed out to me, although it does have the unfortunate side effect of making the whale and the krill look like they’re a bout to kiss
unfortunate
you spelled hilarious wrong
love wins 💛
honestly they’ll probably be super happy about it!! :] I am very proud of them seeing it
also i showed this to my friend who also loves sky lore, and told them, it's like the shard memories were originally all in one picture, but we just saw it in "shards" ha get it? cause...shard...memories? season of shattering? xD
yee! i just wanna be sure! It's their art and i know some people would prefer to not have someone else sharing their art? idk if that makes any sense. But, if i ever share art that's not mine, i want to properly credit them!
Vela sweep
Vela sweep
It's honestly kinda funny how Vela is the one who makes all those funny MS Paint memes yet also has the artistic skill to make like The Mona Lisa 2 or something if they wanted
Ikr
lol also two people with pfps drawn by them so far... haha imagine if everyone in lorechat had a pfp drawn by vela 🤣.... I honestly wouldn't mind 🤣
ure giving me ideas ||/j||
Reminder not to wink wink nudge nudge someone into making art for you
ik ik thats why the /j spoilered there
okay let me try to count
me, alasdair, ash, I feel like I’m forgetting someone but can’t remember
I have like a backup of 4 vela pfps to use from when they’ve drawn my characters
I’m serious — what Vela has drawn is under their own terms. They didn’t draw me a pfp cos I asked them to, they just made a doodle and I liked it enough to make it my pfp. Anything they’ve made for me and our friends have been a surprise. It feels wrong and takes the passion out of it to be forced, coerced, or guilted into making art rather than deciding to do so yourself. It’s why I had a period where I stopped writing for two years.
You’re completely correct. As an artist as well (visual art), it can be annoying when people try to cheapen the value of my hard work and effort. I know you meant it as a joke, but it can still hit a nerve, especially when so many jokes similar to it that we’ve experienced are like… “I want this but I’m saying it’s a joke so you don’t get mad at me for it.” Just letting you know
Agreed. I'm also an artist... I get that happy spark when I draw something for others but only when it's a surprise honestly. Having something drawn as a surprise for you is truly a special experience that cannot be replaced with a requested drawing... if I unearthed any negative feelings regarding this I apologize... although it is funny to think about how weird it would be if we all had a pfp in the same style
Would honestly be amazing tbh, but I know that there's a lot of people in this chat and as a procrastinating artist myself, that's a huge request so perhaps not
Hey @slim plume, did you get enough sneep snorp today?
Yeah... it's more of a funny hypothetical thought than anything else 🙃
You're nice to me and this is hilarious, so I will allow it.
HI
Hii I'm currently away from home and really busy, but I saw the last shattering poem and am trying to solve it like a rubix cube, it's hard for me to understand tbh. I'm gonna have to ruminate on it for a while but I really like the implication that the elders can contain memories that aren't theirs in great quantities
I had this idea light and memories are similar if not the same, it would make sense for the elders to be able to tap into the flow of light to Eden to learn what's going on in the kingdom...
They're gay kissing now, hope this helps.
Also it makes me really emotional to see my art is so loved here, you guys have no idea how far the compliments go even if we never interacted before
Hey Lorechat, I’ve been busy these last few days, and I wanted to show you my Krill Reconstruction bf I forgot, it also has some oc lore, so here it is! *I’ll explain my thinking when I have the time
Does anyone have ideas as to why the starlight desert spirits have chains
it intrigues me and their also all alone, theres no other spirit in their memories
I think it symbolizes how restrained they are, or it could be more literal
Oh god think somone else here had a whole theory starlight desert was a experiment or somthing but I can’t remember who thought of it, was definitely intersting from the few things I remember of it
other than that I got no clue, maybe a weird prision
Also I just have a morbid thought that came up when I was writing. But since we know a battle happened on the battlefield in GW, and there’s like a ton of weapons and sand that’s much to high for the land, do you like think the ones that perished in the fight got buried in the sand as it built up over the years?
or maybe all of them died in the eden explosion since their pretty close who knows
TLP lore is a trap you can never escape from
It’s been confirmed it’s a metaphorical trapped in their vices thing by the devs!
Reading the book will give you more insight. In the books each “spirit” lives on their own little tiny planet bound to their way of life and rigid ways of thinking. When the little prince questions them on each of their practices they either scoff at him, brush him off or try to coerce him into following their way without contemplating a different perspective. The chains are symbolic of them being shackled to their own mindsets, being unable to see things from an alternate perspective to flow with life instead of trying to structure it. The little prince pity’s all of them as he see’s that they are all stuck in their own little echo chamber’s unable to see anything other than the importance of their own selves, which is a very adult thing to do i guess
"Bare at the precipice"
Depicting how they didn't even have their weapon?
"Unseen fractures crumble in the chasm"
Ngl idk why but my first thought was about their vulnerability of not having anything to try and stop the diamond
"The stars under fathomless weight"
Maybe about the skykids or just everyone below that was hoping for the elder's success?
"Reaching to light and to dark"
Again, about the everyone hoping, maybe even some dark creatures? Like crabs? (Probably not-) or maybe the explosion reaching the abyss area and the krill king?
Carrying memory of all that was held
In the final moment of shattering
Ngl I have no thoughts on this, although I agree on someone saying that maybe the elders held onto their memories but had an amnesia? Well probably not the amnesia part though-
Wait so does that mean they don't even know each other? (The spirits) because even when I completed the quest I also didn't see them ascend together like how most of the seasonal spirits are?
or did they when the season of tlp was happening?
Yes you are correct, they do not know of each other.
Am i the only one who isn’t really feeling these poems?
For me they are extremely vague and fail to allude to anything significant or substantial. If anything it feels like they are causing even more confusion.
We’re left grasping in a vacuum full of nothingness… I’m not impressed at all
I'm poetry's first and foremost lover, but I do have to agree with you somewhat. Poetry for me focuses on painting a clear picture with flowery words and vague metaphors, and even though we literally have a picture to go with these words, I feel like they don't leave enough for us to really... paint that picture. Like they gave us the paintbrushes, canvas, oil paints, and reference, but didn't tell us what to really create
Shameless plug on an original poem that has nothing to do with sky but may help explain my opinion on poetry:
Hey Lorechat! I got free sooner than expected! Here I have (linked) my reconstruction of the Krill. The Shovel Tail Krill
It's head is similar to a flashlight, it's horns portude out of the skull to make light 'cartillage' used to amplify the Sky Dragon light they used to find food and intimidate predators as well to navigate the dark seas. They are related to the Krill Mother (abyss), which I expect to be a corrupted 'Greater Sky Dragon'. They have many eyes to sight predators such as whales who would eat them for sustenance, (hence the whale's creepy jaws).
The Krill has 4 wings, two main ones which help them thrust into the wind, two back ones that help with mobility and turning, and finally a collection of wings that help it catch currents and keep flying.
(OC LORE) - context for the Art
" The Ark was now so far, the sunset of the Wasteland was as bleak as it's dawn.
The air was thick and dry, the repugnant smell of darkstone residue seemingly filled the air. Somehow, when I fell that down trough the dunes and into this continent's deserted badlands.
The landscape shifted as soon as the clouds started to fade, small flowers and mushrooms that I'd turn into stews populated these arid gardens.
These lands were populated by crab colonies, they were smaller than the one's in the Kingdom with yellowish kind eyes. Their shells were made of glass as to see their glowing light.
I set camp no farther than a ledge away from the Oasis, using the tent The Alchemist gave me. When a call bellowed in the distance.
In the hidden forest, I have heard the calls of the Manta, the Whale, the Jelly and the bird. This call, was different from them all.
I ran down the hill and found myself in prescence of a member of a bygone species. One that I repeatedly studied in the Golden Marina, the elusive Dark Dragon.
Light creature's lantern found me, bathing me in a golden rain. I flinched for a while, force of habit it seemed. Yet, when I conquered my fear, it came closer.
It's face was littered with eyes. It's muzzle was soft and warm.
Coinciding with the mural I had found in the old ship, the Creature had 18 wings, 9 on each side..." - Sol's Jounal
So wdyg think abt it?
I LOVE ITTTT AAA.... the descriptions
the backstory
all of it
hello that was me
Now I wanna write my own fics
do it
looks at my 9k google doc for oc lore its fun
Talking Abt OC's I wanted to introduced mine, since most of you guys have, can I?
do it!! i love reading the stories people come up with
i swear im turning into book salem
all in the name of avoiding practicing, ig
i'd like to dump about my sky au sometime which has some new types of skids and other stuff
but uhhh i have no idea what im doing with it tbh
also do not avoid the practice or pianolul will haunt you in your sleep for not practicing 40 hours at least 20 to 30 minutes
not the pianolul ok i will leave
i practice for like 15 lmao
Where do we know the name "Alef" from??
iydll this is your house they can't kick you out
when was it my house
i think alef came from the concept art names but not sure which one, i'll have to grab my trusty shovel and dig through a lot of them
you live here don't you?
i think so? im all over the place tbh
but this is definitely because my more frequent spot, still not used to getting ponged
ah lesons startinf im goin
it failed to load
This is Sol an adventurer and nomad who went trough and Eden trauma arc, he was helped by Modest and Mellow to open up, and has been learning Alchemist's recipes. He was raised by Stealthy and has been amazed by Krill.
He has a pet crab Marble, and a Hawk named Viento.
He's looking to find more light creatures and plants to help the studies of his guild, who work towards rebuilding the history of sky and helping the world heal. He lately has stumbled upon the Oasis of Solitude, home to many birds, dragons and slugs. *this is an abriged version.
Ooh and his guild is called the Vault Institute. With many muralist and scribes exploring the many realms to preserve their history and can fix memory crystals, from which they saw pre-corruption Sky.
Sound familiar?
vaguely
I made the Vault Institute based on Lorechat! There's a scribe that always is rambling on reality and a place called Office. A muralist that can turn into a bird and a scribe that did a mural on pre-apocalypse Golden Wasteland, there's a scribe that relentlessly studies the Starlight Desert and another that dwells on poems, and many more!
ah
skid lorechatian
the lore chat skykid collective i want to make a sona but it requires beta content
i think all of my ocs have some part of me in them (some a tad more vague than others) and ive yet to make a skysona
#eden-spoilers message by Orion
Anyone noticed this detail?
omg what thats so cool
that's sick.
sad, but really touching. I should try that.
why is eden so Sad Now
oh sweet i get to cry more
now all i need is friends
I think it was always supposed to be, but the vets complained it was getting too stale and easy. which I agree. I remember feeling so impacted by Eden and ascension the first times I went, then months of continuous running sort of gammified it.
the new poses of the petrified skykids, the crystals, the crawling, the new death animation – it's all new and much more emotionally poignant than it had been for me for a while. it makes me feel for my skykid and all the other skids who brave this hellscape.
YEAH
honestly I always thought in-universe skykids were much more affected by darkness than they had been shown in-game. skykids crawling beneath the overwhelming force of darkness, until they die in various positions is much more realistic.
Last time I did that with a friend their statue just glitched halfway into mine
its the thought that counts
I still havent been to new eden but I agree, slay
New Eden? What did they change?
Eden was changed with the Shattering update. new statues, crawling when extinguished, lost winged light notification, added Eden mural, harder stormlock
I complained the first few updates but actually it's not that bad, it's more challenging
i quite like the changes! on top of the emotional stuff, it feels more rewarding to have gotten all the statues nowadays, idk i like the challenge
yea, it's harder but not impossibly so. rip solo Eden runners, but at the same time, the devs never intended for Eden to be run solo. you get the text when you pass the Eden gate to travel in groups. you're supposed to die alongside your friends
I suppose that's the point of Sky in general, of how light thrives – together
I feel really bad for moths who friend me in eden because I always use the glitch and don't want to ruin their first time 😭
oh wow? that's pretty cool for the changes
I run Eden solo just fine, 120 WL for at least 60-62 statues, hah
@spice musk I know you intended the art repost respectfully, but the server rules don’t allow reposting other people’s art. You’re welcome to post a link to the original that’s in the #completed-sky-fanart-and-creations channel if you like, though
i love the changes honestly, it makes it more impactful
By new statues
They mean that statues have different poses and some have more than one skykid now
Though the other skykids in one statue might be unsavable corpses... or they're light souped
Dibs on light soup I love light soup it's unreal
Striking the light soup beam uncontrollably
Turning into light soup is easy!
Just choose a friend and die in their arms!
Just don't choose an enemy or your life may suck!
They'll separate once reborn anyway, unless they wish not to
Who will you soup with today?
My friends :)
More than one?
Yessir
I LOVE YOU SOUP #soupsweep
#SOUPSWEEP
I'm not sure where I can discuss my fanlore so I'm hoping I can make a thread
Can't.
Sad
Oh well
I'm currently making a realistic map of sky based on how things would fit together in a realistic way.
Sadly I have no idea how to render mountains or other things.
You could make simplified mountains, in the shape of "^", it doesn't have to be detailed as long as it gets the idea across!
There’s plenty of versions, including one made by TGC: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
That was made by NetEase, not TGC, so it’s canonicity is disputable.
One of Tom Zhao’s concept pieces also maps out of the world, but since this is concept art, again, it’s canonicity is disputable.
‘Thisone is probably the one I could be most convinced of being canon I like it being a spiral and looking like a skeleton and it has vault in the right place so I like it
one day i wish we can explore the realms outside of the kingdom of sky, heck perhaps we might see journey's sand place again lol
so i think i might have an idea about sky. Sky is a game about individuality.
think about it for a lil bit, we're all born as star children, little white lights, and then we get cool stuff like hair, capes, even masks and stuff.
sky is about exploring our individuality as people, and we may go through hardships like GW or eden, but in the end, we're all gonna go back the same way we came, to orbit.
Guys just want to ask, does anyone have a note or maybe full document about sky lore theories? I've found one and it's containing the lore from the very first sky kid had fallen until how the sky kingdom become the reality we know now. It is very interesting but at some points imo they don't really have strong evidences for it. Still im very entertained
I kinda new here so if someone already shared that would you help me to find it?
At one point there was the theory vault which you could try to search up in lore chat but i dont think that's been updated for many months
There's also the "more updated" lore doc by Baudshaw (though i've heard that it needs a little updating)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
honestly i'm kinda hoping we get a chance to see an animal elder or an animal seasonal guide like the concept art of the elders
Thankyou so much, big love ❤️❤️❤️
I read a fic where twins are said to be born under one star and just split into different people, so I like to think that these hugging eden statues are twins who died together and thats why they only need one winglight
Oooooo :0
I heard light soup and now I'm going to drag my friends into my arms and play a tune before they solidify before me
Does anyone have that Eden concept art stuff? I’ve tried looking for it but can’t find it but I’m pretty sure I once saw it
Theres a lot of it, you could try checking tom zhao's website
Yeah I already did that but I couldn’t find specifically Eden TwT
There is technically Eden concept art on Tom Zhao’s site, but it looks much different! It was black and white as apposed red, and the corrupted king was present there
You can find more than this, I’m not sure if it’s what you were looking for or not, but I hope it helps
I mostly see it as the elders finally deciding to try and do something about the diamond, like destroying it
Also so sorry about the ping
Yeah I was searching for that! But I actually didn’t see that piece at all on his website 😅
Lmao
The king boss fight really makes me go
tho
It’s there! Just at the veryyy bottom !
It didn’t load for me previously jdhfhhjs
It was really interesting I agree
I understand why it was likely scrapped, but I still would’ve loved to see it
That sounds interesting, do you have the doc?
kinda forgot we were supposed to have boss fights with the elders tbh
imagining that prairie elder just traps us in their pot like were butterflies
Yes i will send you through dm if you dont mind
Oh yeah… uhh I was supposed to make a part 2 then forgor
it ok, take your time
Forgor? How about forgo the sins of man?
is there a chance of dying in eden without ever finding the prince? it’s the quest that I’ve been avoiding …
can you elaborate? Do you mean the room after dying in Eden? Or is it the last Shattering quest?
it’s the quest found in the starlight desert with the rose, as for the eden location I sort of figured it’d be the main area with the rubble where the sky child risks losing all their light
OHHH! I think that is more fitting to be in #questions-and-help
Season of the little prince messed me up despite knowing how it ended beforehand.
oh dear
do I need to mark it as spoilers when putting the question in the other channel? if so, how do I do that
you can ask that too in #questions-and-help
Basically you just have to put "||" at the start and at the end of your message
gotcha
Hello lorechat! I have just finished writing a story about the horrifying reality of light souping!
0 days without lorechat making Sky a horrifying experience
Don't worry I'm not even sure if it's skycord friendly
What even is light souping
Basically, when two skykid souls become one
Or many if you're feeling extra
Gimme gimme
Imagine light souping 8 skids
Tasty
This implies that there could potentially be light abominations------ wait what if that's how corruption is started-----
eden diamond had too much soup and went boom
What if the soup is cold
Too many souls lost for progress and for what? The cost was too great
I saw that fork and knife

||Omg a Pale King reference??||
LOOK, I MEANT TO FIND A FORK EMOJI FOR THE REFERENCE
no cost is too great tho /ref
Yessssssss
who wants gore ?
i mean why not, hopefully no bonks
no promises
epic embed fail
I mean not exactly gore, but I'll have to DM it to you
I mean, I like this "Light is a soup" concept, ||one of my OCs literally separated their light with no injuries (aside from memory loss) by their own will to save a friend||
Ok but like. You know how in ||frozen 2|| they're like the water remembers? What if light does the same?
Caveman season when?
Light spider
Skids said "this world sucks I should've stayed in the primordial light soup" and they go back in time
I wish I could go back to the memories and examine the large shattered diamond internal structure. The design has some similarities to depictions of a hypercube and other 4D shapes, doesn’t it? With the nested smaller octahedrons.
I just realized something really obvious .... in wasteland, the krills fly over the graveyard right? They fly over the turtle corpses. What if the creatures the krills used to be, died an unnatural death like in the concept art, and as a result, when they died their spirits rose out of their skeletons as krills? Like, the krills are the corrupted spirits of the light creatures they used to be.
Oh my gosh ur right wow
Woahhhh.... 3d model... that's so cool
There’s a hollow with the same shape, and then in the very center, there’s a small intact diamond shape.
Ooo yeah I see it
Hope this helps
(ping off)
If you need an original picture of the first one, let me know
I made a super long video while I was inside the diamond... but I can't send it cuz the file's so large
Wow! Yes I see it in yours.
I wonder if anyone has snapped a screenshot of this little diamond over in Eden! It would be difficult with all the fog and from our angle. It doesn’t rotate like the shattering guide.
Thankfully the shattering guide model is very accurate of the one in the ancient memory... and much easier to look at for that matter
Yeah ur right.... much too foggy
I guess fog is the wrong word
Yeah
... more like nope we won't let you see anything video filter fog
Dust clouds
Wow
that's really look like a 4D
Should I mention the shaking of the diamond itself?
The shaking of the diamond also makes it hard to see, and not to mention the windwalls preventing Skykids to enter the diamond
Yeah.... that would make it even harder
Also the sheer terror of being inside something that massive and destructive
||Living in a bomb||
Ignoring gameplay, I honestly think that Sky kids cannot actually go near the diamond bc if they did all their light would drain and they'd die... similarly to red shards but faster and worse since it's the largest force of darkness in our kingdom
It probably wouldn't be something a Sky kid could recover from either
I don’t know if this floor is implying that these bad boys are the light creature predecessors of krills or if devs are just showing us some extinct megafauna but I like to wonder. This floor in Vault does represent Wasteland, with the skeletons and the constellation not shown here.
Sky lore explorers: think about physics, 4D, metaphors etc
tgc who just wanted make a peace indi game:😶 🤑
Oh... again the creature and its skeleton in the same place 🤔 that's an interesting detail
The closer Skykids get to the diamond, the more unlikely another Skykid would come to revive their statue
I have a mini theory that the spirit light creatures here are extinct, only having memories of them remaining (certail species of manta can go extinct, like the Dodo bird for example, it is extinct, but the entire bird population isn't, yet)
Although you make a point, since as it stands the only way to get out of Eden is for another skid to revive your stone.... there's still room in the theory for the Eye to be destructive enough to make a Sky kid unrecoverable
The rocks could literally destroy the statue, that's one thing (like the unfortunate Skykid before PNR)
🥲 may their soul rest in peace with megabirb
Speaking of statues before pnr.. Why can't we save them? I mean, it is quite obvious that there are blue crystals on them, but how are the blue crystals stopping us from saving them?
I side with alisdair on why we cant deposit light into this statue
We believe that the statue before pnr has already been saved and only the body is left thats why it crumbled because theres nothing left there to save
Ohhh so it's like, the darkness just grew on it? Is it also the explanation as to why there is not crack on said statue(s)?
Gtg sleep now, gnight Lorechat!
That makes sense... gnight Myst
Oh my gosh you guys there's a plant on the shelf..... a normal plant
Unnatural geometry doomed the kingdom of sky
Well, plants were still plants back then
Also I noticed the kids mask looks a little too big for them... could the Ancestors have found them without a mask and gave themm a spare one that was fitted for an adult?
WOOO FINALLY THAT'S WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT
In all seriousness, it's nice to know light plants (and by extention light creatures) have something that makes them inherently distinct from the more normal ones & not that light-things are just the base form of life for the kingdom at large
Which sucks that now all non-light life is dead now
On the note of neutral plants...
What if some of the masks depicted neutral creatures?
Neutral creatures that went extinct during the shattering before they could even flock towards the diamond (if they even wanted to)
Creatures with lots of light could endure more and creatures with lots of darkness didn't get affected as much so they were more likely to survive
Vewy intewesting..... my Lore brain is finally turned on
It's been off for a little while lol
Like ducks, spiders, dragons (maybe), various other birds, frogs and lions and the like
Very plausible! It does make me wonder however how neutral creatures operate(d) under the megabird's system. Do neutral creatures ascend like light creatures or do they all just die "unnatural" deaths? Are they even connected to the megabird? & if not did they develop independently of it's influence?
But most importantly
are the fish at Home neutral creatures?
I'd also like to note that the hands and fingers in the animation trailer are so smooth and nice
... in comparison to well.. you know what
Their probably not connected, since you don't see any of them in ||orbit||
I was under the impression ALL life is light, barring things like Oreo that aren’t really… canon(?)
The plant could just not be in a flowering stage where it would be more obvious that it’s made from Light right…?
I don’t think so. They’re probably just so small that there’s no room for any detailing
Kind of like butterflies, but the lack of a glow doesnt really change it since mantas don’t glow to begin with
Who can say except mega bird, but I'm under the impression that not all life is light
At the same time plants such as the trees & grass in the teaser don't seem to glow either. So while it's possible that the plant shown isn't in a flowering state where it would otherwise more obviously be a light-thing, at the same time the plant could just be some type of fern.
Well, the grass in game can be produced with Green Light so i doubt that one is neutral at least
green light stimulates growth but i don't think that necessarily means the things that grow are themselves made of light
True, but if I remember correctly mantas DO glow under the right conditions (like the one in wasteland that gets eaten on screen), but considering the fact that whales don't seem to glow this probably doesn't mean much
i imagine that creatures like birds and some mantas, as well as plants like the light blooms in Forest and Reef, glow because their skin/plant matter is thin enough to allow their light to sort of... diffuse out into the environment, hence why our light recharges when we're close to them. whales may not glow because their skin is thicker. the turtle in Sanctuary and the eel in Reef discharge their excess light through other processes, maybe whales do something similar?
Counterpoint: wouldn’t it be so cool if everything living was made of light to some degree? I think there are flowers that recharge you in starlight desert but as for grass, it might not have enough to recharge us beyond a little bit
Whales sound like neutral then too, right? Also the clams and sea turtle.
Hot take: Whales discharge their excess light by barfing
It would be cool if in this animation we get an aerial view of Sky showing features from Isle or Prairie and Valley in one shot.
How do we even define what is meant by light in this game?
Well, anything with inherently warm colors
I mean . Light. The thing that makes up all living things. It glows, it kinda pulses, it has a really faint song and it helps us do things
In colors like: white, yellow, orange, and red kind of
Sometimes things made of light are in cool colors! Like spirits. :] & so categorizing them by color may not be the best option!
True
I have a question…does every spirt have a story?
Normal plant & all but the details on the mask... it's hand carved... later (presumably) the same kid in the Switch trailer is wearing a smoother mask; must've changed it
Most of them do, you can see it when you relive them and see their cutscenes
COUNTERcounterpoint: wouldn't it be equally cool if there were things entirely separate from the cycle of rebirth & light that have/had existed long before the emergence of light creatures? Imagine being a deer & one day while you're eating grass or whatever deer do the sky claps open out comes a typhoon of mantas & now you just kinda gotta deal with them.
Imagine being a normal person when that happens
Maybe, but if so then they'd be the only neutral creature we see in game ascend, which would be very confusing.
Pretty unfair to our sea turtle friend
Fair enough
turtle gives off green light, so it's likely also a light creature
Do we have any theory of why the diamond shattered?
I kinda get it but I don’t think it makes a lot of sense, if light is supposed to be life then why are there living things outside of it?
it's likely that all living things in the world have light, though their ratio of light to flesh/material will vary
This yeah
If i’m gonna be honest??? I don’t think theres like. Almost Any canon neutral creatures???
“Neutral” would be more like… a balanced mix of Light and Dark
I agree!! Just like… low-light creatures (light but don’t have a lot of it) and corrupted ones
or neutral creatures are those absent of both light and darkness
That’s incredibly tough to wrap my head around tbh.
I know, but if light is everything alive, and all current dark creatures are just light but corrupted to a kinda zombie esque form, then how are you devoid of light and still alive while not being essentially a moving corpse?
Like. I could see Oreo being that but oreo’s Actual canonicity is like. Dubious since he’s supposed to be more of an easter egg
I understand them existing theoretically I just can’t see them actually working, especially with my current perception of how light & dark work. even krills in my brain have a tiny bit of light thats constantly being sapped and if it drained completley they’d collapse and decompose, hence why they steal ours, to avoid that fate
some call crabs neutral creatures cos they can be passive or aggressive based on whether they have darkness rabies or not, but their eyes glow so they do have light. krill, likewise, have that blue/red searchlight they use to see and find other beings of light, so they have light as well. the leviathan also has glowing red eyes. so it seems all dark/corrupted creatures have light to some capacity, their nature has just been warped by darkness
I see darkness as roughly equivalent to death in general so anything that only has darkness within itself is just. dead.
YEAH CRABS. i think there was a promotional image of them with white underbellies and yellow eyes and tbh i kinda wish they’d kept that iteration
yeah this is what I’m saying!! crabs are probably light but most of the ones we see are corrupted to varying degrees, as well as krills having a tiny bit of light that they cling onto for dear life and which is constantly vanishing, like ur version of corrupted skykids but worse
Also i would very much like to think that plants that don’t look glowy at all in the trailer are still light plants(in a sense) and it’s more about, like… i need to find the word for it
now that I think about it, based off my hc of krills being corrupted manta conglomerates that merged to conserve light after being drained, they could probably subsume mantas into the whole for the same reason even after being created, which makes me feel very bad for the manta who gets krilled 24/7 and also is terrifying to think about. Imagining them nesting under refineries to do this
I think it’s more about the visual presentation because the action isn’t at that little potted plant and the viewer is supposed to be looking at what’s happening with the Ancestors. So having it be super bright would throw off the composition of the scene and be too distracting
ALSO i think plants like that + grass might just Be like that even as Light “creatures” and only actually light up when something disturbs it/touches it
We see this with several in-game plants like the Flower-inspired lilies, Light Blooms and the grass itself, which subtly becomes brighter when we walk through it. And in the trailer too with that flower that emits glowing “pollen” and the light blooms next to the tree where the crabs look at the traveling Ancestors from
Oooh manta soup
Yes! Krills are just one example of many things I have turned into soup. :]
Megabird is just like. One big soup bowl
The cooking pot
I think it’d be cool if darkness plants could be used like… composting plants in a way? And would explain why baffled botanist has them (i think…?????)
Like, ancestors like them could use the plants to break down and extract Light from dead/rotting things to use for whatever, specifically by burning the darkness plants when they’re deemed ready
You joke but this is what I call the cave tearful light miner is in
other names include “the blender” and “the stock pot”
Seafood boil‼️
Oooh that too, yeah.
I feel it’d do Both cus the dark plant would take in both and the darkness could be burned off to release the trapped Light

of course I arrive to this
Ok actually yknow what… i just. Thought of.
I have a tendency to arrive to really weird things by accident. I love it
thinking of souping some lightseekers I feel like they’d be extremely conducive to the souping, especially b4 they became lightseekers
Pioneer is technically a salad, does that count
To me, by default, the seasonal guides are already soup; some aren't buuut
Actually nvm idk how i’d go about this
Was thinking abt sky lotus flowers more but I think i’m gonna think abt it a bit longer….
The term soup is confusing out of context like why are we cooking these Ancestors
I would kill to see a lake of lotus flowers in game honestly because they’re just. Gorgeous plants
What type of soup? 👁️👄👁️
we aren’t, megabirb is just a big soup bowl and they are in it
Generational soup
So moff soup then? /J
Passing the torch but Literally passing it, like here you go my boy all of our knowledge is stored in this light keep it safe
Ah yes the new players like the elders like "is that light? Not anymore, I stole it
"
Cough twins
Yeah but imagine you're new here & the first thing you see is a bunch of very normal individuals cooking spirits in a pot just because it's interesting, I would be scared but intrigued
Could you explain this? Like the other spirits of their season kinda imprinting on them or something? Sounds super interesting
I’m imagining it like
Person becomes soup -> has two peoples worth of excess light -> everyone already thinks they’re super weird so they don’t care abt getting weirder -> becomes lightseeker bc it comes naturally to them bc of excess light
“what spirits would you put in a pot & cook and why is it tearful light miner”
So like *a very large train passes by *
& that's how it works
I mean it as a more a discrete way to store & pass knowledge (it's not written or stored anywhere,) it's not their whole light but only a fragment of it, it shouldn't greatly affect the heir unless it was passed really young
WAIT I THINK I GET IT. like, they’re each part of kinda large lines (as in, the seasonal guides this applies to) and the soup part is their predecessors knowledge? if so can I ask how that works for enchantment guide, I think you mentioned a few times it would have gotten passed down when they’re really young and also if you run with the idea of them dying first in the crash I’m wondering who got it after, if anyone
Sorry if this is too much prying I’m just Very interested it sounds neat akdjaowoalqnsd
the king is alive, the king of sky is trapped in his own creation, eden, he is that one shinny boi we hug to escape it,he is saving the next generation from his mistake,he made r e b i r t h(also fun fact skykids are technacally elders,a whole new race of them
wut
Has anyone else noticed the reaction of the season guide to skids when you get close? Especially in the void-like area?
yea i hav ... dark u okaeh?u keep typing and stopping

people sometimes stop typing to think about what they're writing, be patient
Yes I'm just typing the independence of the United States
KICKS MY FEET YES it's like they're a flow of light, a river. I haven't thought what would happen to it after Enchantment passes, either Alchemist absorbs it back since they're family; although it not be a good idea since they're old, or it simply vanishes with their soul— so much of the knowledge regarding colored light is lost because it only remains in memory, in Enchantment's memories of their friends & family (the crew)
I'm not sure how to explain in detail why it would cause issues to young Enchantment, they haven't formed memories of their own yet to differentiate what's theirs & the light that flows through them; their parent ended up passing more than usually required because they were dying soon & Enchantment would be unable to meet the rest of the family growing up
I'm Normal hope this makes sense
bruh sooooooooooooo long im shocked u typed that much, not saying its bad im impressed 👌
Thanks
What is this soup discussion on hungry now
It does make sense!! And yeah your explanation with enchantment guide [both of them] make sense to me, I’d never considered knowledge being transmitted via light as a thing before, but it makes a lot of sense :]
I really love it as a way to spread generational knowledge without it getting written down/in memory lanterns, especially in situations like this where the person passing it down wouldn’t have time to record it. it’s like, a cooler and instant version of it getting passed down orally
Guys pls it's 3 am and y'all discussing about soup people and cooking them up.. should I be worried/JJ
Hey I still want to know where the valley elder put my light-
I think I’m gonna nab the general concept of light knowledge gettin transmitted like that for headcanons if it’s ok, although I will always mention you as the person who spawned it Dark :] it’s too cool to pass up
light soup is not for eating
Do y'all think the ancestors could explode if they absorb too much knowledge and that's why they have memory lanterns and all that?
Please DO I'm an old lady here's my purse
Actually I thought of this, Enchantment is a chronic head hurty person, they're not going to explode but some days are difficult
Funny answer:
cowardice, you’re just too scared to slurp up the spaghetti conglomerate god aren’t you
yes, you could eat the light soup, but you would become soup in the process. is that worth it?
