You might still be able to use them as shortcuts by pin-warping to elder room, then going home and using the return shrine to see if it puts you at the beginning of the temple — the drawback is that you’ll lose handhold in the process and it’s a bit slower for CR usage

It is a needed change though, since a purchased product shouldn't give an advantage like a quick warp to a temple like that... It also promotes the elder oobs.

I did tested it. I went solo. And unfortunately no, it’s not returning me to the temple, it sent me to where I stood before using the spell. (Fun fact: home button in home can be used as a return to checkpoint without sitting on the home shrine)

Hm, personal opinion, a purchased product could give an advantage. It’s what the pins were promoted about: chibi sized without spell or without mask, capes without having the spirit, and areas without having to go there. It works with the hidden area in the forest (sunny forest). But I agree with you that it promotes elder oobs, that one I could understand.

as Ktjn said the little prince ults and iaps for example have a trademark, and tgc can't use/sell them after the 77 days of season are concluded. Since the travelling spirits must return some day (which obviously will be long after the season is over) i assume tgc decided to have spirit cosmetics inspired from the characters so they can bring them back as a ts without violating the trademark/copyright

It was a short lived attempt to fix death loop in eden which didn’t go well. There was a timer in eden and when timer was out, you started losing wings. But the speed was insane and that wasn’t intended. We called it kill switch/death switch. They removed it soon after.
