Jumping into conversation late but theres two different versions of Sky tgc uses internally for testing and creating new content! I dont know if i would call it Alpha, but it does allow multiplayer between devs. One version is a trimmed down version of the other, but will have the content added in before it hits beta or live for devs to test. The other version holds almost everything that was in sky. (though obviously some stuff may not work properly anymore )
Both builds though are like a giant sandbox which allows devs to do some fun stuff, for example like take the camera anywhere they want, change time, add candles or hearts etc for testing purposes 
but as far as playing in Live or Beta, devs play the game pretty much normally like everyone else! i hope that answers your question @frigid torrent !

I think scott soltero talked about the dev builds on a livestream last fall but i’m not sure if the VOD is available >> but the builds are used a ton by QA, engineers, designers, artists etc!
Like the early version of the treasure quests wouldve used those builds for testing and refining. Theyre even used for stuff like testing out various versions water splashes that you see when the mantas come out of the water!

After some time to calm down I came back to respond.
This is not to blame you but I was sleeping and had personal problems of my own. Being woken up half an hour after falling asleep was very confusing and painful due to my current poor health.
People make mistakes I get it and are not aware of a lot of things, so it’s okay now.
Mickeysofine, if you see someone appear offline, you don’t know what they are doing, so if you see them nowhere active it’s better to be on the safe side and waiting for them to be active, you can ask them when they are active.
You also cannot adjust personal pings in discord.

Oh, in the beginning of beta the handpan and manta cape didn't have their proper symbols in the spirit tree. They just had a ring with a dash through it. People still "bought" these items, but it turned out to be nothing, ie null.

The is just a phone edit so it's not the best, but I was thinking if a longer size for manta cape is not doable due to current cape limitations, maybe throw in some more manta details like the extra fins and little slits along the edges. Just to make it a bit more interesting, and perhaps focus on long narrow wings to set it apart from the large white bird cape.
