Hey there! I just started playing sky this week and I’m just curious about Eden.

Basically from what I understand, I’ll lose any winged light I have right now and will have to collect again after eden. You can gain AC candles from doing eden weekly.

I basically want to do my first Eden so I can unlock spirits that I can’t currently see. Namely the jellyfish call 😅 There isn’t anything else to it? (I know it’ll be hard haha)

You got it right. To see past seasonal spirits, you need to do eden first.
You do earn AC from eden, but do note it's based on how many statues you save in there

Hi guys, may I ask if heights affect how much you get hit by the rock rain in eden?

haha , me and my partner were doing an eden run and their avatar is significantly taller than mine -- when we reached near the end right before the krill area with the winged light tunnel , they ended up getting pelted by a stray boulder while my avatar was short enough to hide behind a little rock ^o^ this is just for the course up to eden though , a similar situation did happen during the eden rock rain where i was able to duck under a crevasse while they stuck out a little too much lol , it really could've just been their controls and not the hitbox

sometimes it honestly just feels like rng sometimes but it probably matters more on how much you move i wouldnt say it affects it too deeply but i suppose there are small corners that i can duck behind easier is all , overall its probably little to none !

The key that the rocks are starting is when the wind picks up, the in between is usually 3-7 seconds

The music for Eden, especially after pnr, is so good. After pnr I feel like the music gets almost hopeful, like it understands that this is the last moments and are okay with that and knows that there is hope beyond this, if that makes sense.

Hemlo, Being a moth, I keep dying at the last statue stage of eden I wasn’t aware about pnr with 64 wl left regretting my life choices. Are there any shortcuts to surpass this hell ( SOS)

There is a few that I know of, but it's mostly the "bunny-hop" technique or I fly-rush/glide to the next safe point

at least what I do personally, the most I can give on actual advice is keep the volume up and listen for the thunder/rocks hitting

They have a certain pattern when it shows when the path a head is safe

Only 1, that helps get 2 statues easier.

I suggest looking out for rock patterns in zone 1 and red light in zone 2. Red light shows you where there's a rock rain about to move through.

The further you go, the harder it will become. That is until zone 3, where rain is constant.

Don't stress about not getting all statues on your first few runs of eden. Getting them all takes a lot of additional wl from rebirth and experience in pnr.

Getting all takes about 130 which means starting with at least 25 wing buffs

I would say that 130 is too tight of a number. You probably won't be able to make any mistakes on that wl number.
140-150 is more comfortable and allows to make some mistakes.

But I find quick hops are good for travelling a bit quicker through the water.

Theres a few spots where launching forwards with open wing pre-set is safer than running it because the rock window is too short

I’ve been using https://sky-planner.com/wing-buff to try and track my ts spirit buffs. Is there a “map” of locations for spirits after orbit? As in, where they appear in the long line when they give you their buff?

Currently I come back with 7 after rebirth - four from shattering one from default but the other two? Which ones are they?

There are currently 120 wings you can find in the realms (including 1 orbit + 6 shard wings), and 120 wing buffs. Every time you buy a node in a spirit tree for ascended candles (the icon will always look like a wing behind a lock), it adds one wing buff you can collect every time before rebirth to start your new life with some extra wings

It doesn‘t work like that on mobile, if you do the step-circle you can’t fly… You need to either jump while doing the step-circle and then slide and fly, or just slide from jumping and then fly. It sometimes even takes more time (and wedges) to fly than to jump, but maybe that’s different on pc/controllers
Or I need to practice it more, Eden with flying was one of my worst Eden runs lately

I got pretty good at watching and dodging the rock showers. If you play on a console, zoom out and watch where the rocks come from, you can usually follow the pattern that the storm draws and evade most of the rock impacts.

I've seen a map that showed the pattern of the storm but I never memorised it so I go from visual cues while I run Eden.

It provides a specific directional launch and more control in windy environments because during that first flap where you aren’t in glide mode you WILL get blown away

For sure. The crack is finicky. Even I have to jump a few times and I am not tall or small. Sometimes it is just practice.

I always see this Eden cascade effect. One person gets hit and 2-3 others go to help and get burned out for mistiming when to help, followed by 2 more. Then you have around 6 burned out players and a ton of WLs.

I, for example, lost a winged light while trying to purify the darkness in the Starlight Desert alone, and was hit by three floating stones in a row, is there any way to know where this lost winged light went?

i'm so glad to read someone like u. i've submitted a similar content to the creator just yesterday talking about how selfish most players around the games are. from those that u find hanging "bored" because they does such "fast CR" than once they reach the daily max, than they skip the whole game experience; to those that in krills area or +2 players areas like some doors or task from the different spirits (like the tree house), refuse to help or even watch players struggling just to take their wings... when i've started playing 3 months ago, i nearly deleted the game because i was using candles to gift players that helped me and making "friends" only to understand that nobody does that.
as a moth, i was also dragged to eden, and died, and was clueless about how i've found myself from 75 wings to 5!

only after befriend with another player, that really introduced me to this and that, i've started loving the game and i still do.. but again, when i find players asking for help and i offer to, they merely get "dragged around" till their needs are met, and than disappear. which obviously makes new players turning into more selfish moths.

What i like about this game is that it reflects real life. How one wishes others were kinder has a much simpler remedy by the responding party demonstrating how one “should” or “could” behave.

Cause and effect - immediate consequences / impact - good and bad.

IMHO when one experiences a situation like the candle one described above or not being helped, the impact on one’s behaviour can advance depending on their own philosophy. I prefer to believe all people are good. We don’t know their circumstances and therefore not entitled to judge whether they are good or not good or bad.

I can confirm this behavior, when I'm doing CR, I almost never stop to see if anyone wants help, but if I come across someone who needs it, I help. Some people are not selfish because they want to be, maybe they are busy pursuing something they really want, everyone has something they value.

I did Eden today on my daughter's (previously my wife's) account.

With 60wl I managed to reach the 40th statue but misclicked once on the way and ended up with 9.75 ac

I think that's not too shabby. I underestimated that with only 60 wl she can't take more than 1-2 small rocks before she's dark and I played solo with all torches unlit. Could have gotten to 46 or 48 with a bit more luck but it is what it is.

Now Aviery is finally unlocked and has candles and spirits and all that jazz

75 > 125 > 250 ascended candles respectively for prairie isle and forest masks

Hi Jelly Bean, apologies if you already know this : there are spirits and elders. One elder per realm(currently). Spirits may have masks and yes there are masks that resemble the elder masks - a non activated with power kind of mask if you will. But the spirit masks have no power against krill or Eden rocks, or shard rocks or crabs. Hope that helps.

As Lilac said only the first three realms have elder masks. No elder masks for triumph wasteland or vault - though I have hopes they are coming. ✨

Let me clarify: the Elder Mask essentially provides you with an invisible shield. It allows you to endure one krill attack and 3-4 shard stones without losing any light. While you still take hits, your light depletes very slowly, making you resilient and strong while running. I hope this explanation helps!

I feelt like it actually works and protects only when wing charges are fully depleted. I haven't noticed that i take less wing charge dmg at least.

When you have an active shield and are hit by a rock fragment, the shield drops instead of losing your light.

If you stand next to a torch or light source and the mask is only damaged and not broken, the shield recharges too

The shield is visible as an icon next to your wing light display and it serves as a bar and icon at the same time. You can see if it's fully charged or not

Not always 2 small hits, that depends on the rocks. It‘s 2 rocks in Eden before pnr, 2-3 in pnr and not sure about shards. Also like 5 crab hits or so

you do get a period of invulnerability when the shield takes a hit, so any hits during it don't count

From my experience (also a while ago) you can get hit 3 times until the shield breaks in pnr sometimes, but that also depends on where the rock hits you

my test for variable damage was as such: crabs do 2 damage, so if you are at exactly 1 flap it will unlight you without touching the shield, and if you are slightly below that the shield can take only 2 of such hits (even though the actual damage blocked is small)

I got hit yesterday in gw while flying over towards the ship in crab fields... Krill was to my left and I would have been safe and suddenly I'm in the red and wide open over water. No way to hide and I tried to do that thing where you look at the krill and fly towards and up when they start charging... Spoiler, I failed, got whacked, lost 5wl and a 6th while being in the water. A nice player saved me but they were too late to recover any wl.

I could have evaded by going into the ps menu or something job but in the end I wanted to try and practice head-on dodging.

Whats the worst that could happen... Just a few wl to either recollect or do Eden with 187 instead of 193.

Losing shard wl? 🤭 It might be much easier when you only have wl from all realms alright, but even that is not easy at times if wl lost are ones that are really annoying to get, like Flight Race or 8-player-puzzle wl. And honestly, if you ask me, it´s always the best to go to Eden with personal max because of RNG being on its side (and, of course, Elder mask to secure them). Krill dodging? Absolutely needing an Elder Mask as well if you practice head-on ...
... and fortunate you can do that trick. As a PC player, I can´t, so head-on dodging is something that´s mandatory.

Rocks now fall at faster rate and once you´re at Zone 3 (permanent rain) border, "Eye of the Storm" effect triggers, which makes the entirety of Storm Lock into an area with permanent rain.

Ifyou leave before orbit you’re still in storm lock the portals will still be down the purpose of going to the race is to enter normal servers capeless
If your portals are open then it means the game skipped the final part of orbit gave you all your wing buffs and skipped credits
So now it’s just you beat eden normally.

the amount of wl on the map is actually 120, however six of them are locked behind shards. your best bet are buying the wingbuffs from spirits as they give you permanent buffs to your wl amount!

Having lightly avoided spoilers for the game my guess is that the way it works is that it’s really hard (esp. solo) and you lose a lot of or all of your WL trying to complete it, probably rarely completing or never, and then having to start back over from zero on new game+ but this is all just my theory. If that’s the mechanic, I’d rather just know now and maybe explore more with more accessibility, then I can try for Eden when I’m bored of doing all the things out in the world, if that makes sense

for a first run, i would say just go with the flow

it wont be perfect and you could get unlucky but for advice i would say go for the lights first they can relight you when you get hit
it is harder for first/early runs, since you wont have as many wing lights as older players, and there is no "winning" eden, it is the final sacrifice and you come out with 1 wl (plus the wing buffs you bought) BUT you can then see seasonal spirits to relive them and unlock a ton more emotes

any wl you picked up in the realms went back to where they were, so you can go collect them again or choose not to
if you want an uber (someone to take you there) you can ask for someone in #looking-for-group-live (either to take you to PNR (point of no return) or all the way through the eden run)
remember to take your time if you can, theres no time limit once you enter! good luck and have fun

experience the story and emotions, rather then worry about 'how well you do'

I was never worried about how well I’d do per se but with all of the glitches and bugs and issues I’ve encountered, as well as every IAP being incredibly pricey imo, I’ve been worried that a poor experience would make me just put down the game altogether. well, moomin didnt have spirits but spirits from assembly and others, like are from past seasonal spirits that are only visible after doing eden the first time (unless theyre the TS, giving a daily quest, or someone else starting reliving them first)

Adding for the newbies— I'm usually a solo player too, but before Eden nowadays, I always ask my friends if they need help or just wanna join for fun. And trust me, it’s way more fun like that! It gets chaotic and funny.

It's hard to fly in intended way. The only place you can do it freely is near krill tower.

if you have enough flaps, then you fly right from the entrance after the cut-scenes then can also fly above the 2 krills, the hectic part is when you reach the 3rd krill

Third krill is honestly not as hectic. You can stand on little arch before it and then just fly towards the tunnel when krill isn't there and rocks have passed. Wind will push you down and back, so opening wings and flapping repeatedly is the way.

Keep it on right side when you land. Right side is a lot safer from rocks than middle or left side.

I skip all rocks and krill and fly in the clouds from the first wing light in the building. I land at the back of the building with the other 9 wing light. Clouds recharge you. It is same principle to get wing light at top of peaks 🌟 happy to take you or others to show.

I get to take my friend through Eden on Sunday. I had them start revival so they wouldn't have to go through Eden again if they started it without me. I told them what I could about Eden without spoiling what happens. All I said is that there are krills (they're scared of them) , it's dangerous, and there's a point of no return.

I mentioned that I had them start revival because they started before aviary was a thing and they're still in the moth phase because they don't play often.

Honestly, i feel like going backwards in eden is easier. There's a slight wind blowing you back when you go forward. That same wind helps you go backwards a lot, especially if you jump repeatedly.

I found a spot to chibi fall to on the Eden Gate itself. 🤭 To the left of the main parts of the gate that open up (on its frame), there´s a nice sloped area you can use to chibi fall.

i went to the very top of the door, and once through i went down to the right (be careful not to get caught by winds or it will reset you) and then you can walk onto the stairs on the other side. Another option is to go back where the cosmetics are and find the little mound of rock by the boulder and fall through there, then fly to underneath the gate and pass underneath

I did it! Then I went back out to reproduce and almost did it again. point to fall is at the top with the centre stone on the slant.

Daughter got through a different spot mid way up on the right - then did a call and the doors opened. Six of us were able to go. 🎉

Feel like I should talk about this here because I've taken to doing some impromptu Eden ubering now, although there's still one section that I'm not super clean on >.<

• First section is the first part up to the temple where you get the first WL -- I can pretty consistently nail the shortcut now.
• Second section is after the door you unlock by lighting the things, can pretty consistently fly up to the submerged pipe, then with a group I've got enough wing juice to fly to the left out of the pipe and make it up that section to the pipe interior.
• The third section is the trek from the top of the pipe up to PNR -- I have yet to find a clean break without getting rocked >.< but if I time my flight I can get to cover in between rockfalls, but I still get occasionally brained by rocks.
  maybe one day I'll get a fully clean run but progress is progress ig hahaha

Eden chat, I'm here with a question from my friend that I took through Eden. They kept getting forced into a spin after getting knocked down by rocks in the PNR and I'm here to ask what causes that? so, um, I kinda died at eden. I had heard it would be a difficult area and you shouldn't go alone. I had a friend with me and we met a couple more inside the "point of no return" zone. all of them died, and I was left alone with NO clue what to do.. so I quit.
I usually don't like doing this, but is there like a guide somewhere on how to beat eden? and what to do when you've lost basically all of your wing power? I was just so frustrated I fully intended on quitting sky altogether..

you don't beat eden, you're supposed to die in there. it's basically like new game+ or a prestige system, you give your light to the fallen statues in pnr (point of no return) and you get ascended candles (the red/pink candles) in return depending on how many statues youve saved. you can use those ascended candles to unlock wing buffs from spirits after you've died, they're the winged locks that cost 2 AC each. wing buffs translate to extra wings when you're reborn, so if you were to buy 5 wing buffs, you would be reborn with 5 wl in your cape. additionally, completing your first eden run unlocks the ability to see past seasonal spirits and relive their memories.

i completely understand your frustration, but try not to get discouraged! there's a lot more to discover after your first trip to eden

yeah, just try to give light to as many of the statues as you can. as long as you went after the last reset on sunday, it should remember the statues you saved before quitting. just as a heads up, if you closed the game while in pnr, you'll most likely spawn in your home with all the realm gates closed/blacked out. you can sit at the return shrine to go back to where you were before closing the game

In your scenario the statues you ascended will remain ascended and count for the new week.
Even if you get all statues before reset and reset happens during ascending then the statues will still count for the new week

I usually follow the red light to the right of the safe lantern before (where the 3 hugging statues are), then the rock rain comes a bit towards you and once it goes back again you can jump left to get the statue and continue to the next safe lantern. Maybe I can make a video this week

On mobile, you can actually spam the ✨ button to instantly go from folded-wing to open-wing in the clouds, which then launch you really high. On PC, one cannot do so.

As for the hits, I´m usually the goober that gets hit for smallest things, but then tanks endless rain like a champion. Mostly because I never stop mid-honking.

Eden question from a moth who has only done Eden once (and had no idea what to expect or what was going on lol):

Is it more beneficial to wait to go to Eden after you’ve unlocked all the constellation spirits? Or is it fine to go without unlocking them all?

the spirits (wingbuffs) give you +1 wing after eden, so think about those as just a bonus
the main part of eden is to get ascended candles but if youre just going for wing buffs then its better to just wait a bit and go next time it resets so its not a "waste" of wings

you can go with/without unlocking realm spirits, theyre always there to get later

It's fine to go in before reliving all basegame spirits. You should focus more on having enough ac to accend some spirits in orbit after the run.

Having all basegame spirits relived is a good idea to know your options for ascending them on your eden run, but it isn't a necessity.

if youre low on ac: buy them later (they cost 1-12ac, just get the really cheap ones imo)
if you feel like you have a good amount: buy some, next eden run can usually cover 1 or 2 of the more expensive buffs

having them relived is a good idea, not just for eden but so you can get their cosmetics
but its not required, any way you play is correct as long as youre having fun

hi, does anyone have suggestions to improve eden runs? i’ve been going as a chibi and following a path my friend made, but would it be better to use a normal height mask? what do you guys do?

There´s a shortcut through Ruined City (Eden area with Krill) that basically involves going OOB (out of bounds), but else, why not?

While myself I´m basically still learning to fly through it without getting rocked on or Krilled.

Doing Eden better comes down to being comfortable there and have experience in how to get through it.

The more you do it, the better you will become. There's no way to get past the learning curve of it

eden is the final area of the game, and you saw the tonal shift of it. your first time experiencing eden is unlike any other.
