Just wondering if anyone knows what the honks and calls I can see in the dark room are? Tried to walk towards it but never get to them and the music just gets all spooky and the screen shaky. When I walk towards the CoL it calms down

harder to tell if its nobody you know, but if you have friends in the eden run and you move on without them, you'll see their names by there.

Slow-mo happens only when you get hit dead center like from a Krill attack, but yeah. No need to watch our Skykid horribly losing wl like that, Krill attacks are already as stressful as they are.

I counter that by doing constant mid- to deep honks, as it cancels the "stunned" animation this brings and allows your Skykid to keep on going like they didn't just get hit in their noggin by a large shard.

Even if at times this can cause what I like to call "Michael Jackson moonwalking" where they continue onward, but with no walking animation. 😂😂😆 Thankfully, it's temporary, thus more of a visual glitch, but still. Hilarious either way.

I was crawling along on 10 wl on the endless storm,
give and lose a few,
then I was on 2 wl crawling towards a statue.

A rock knocked both wl out of me.

I arrived beside the statue and my avatar sort of touched it. But no more wl left to give.

I died next to the statue.

At this point, the best thing you can do is to run without jumping, take a diagonal angle from the direction of the rocks and if you fall on your back do a honk that is half the duration of a full loud honk, that will get you up quickly. Then just stay persistent and go! If you take this advice you will go farther without losing as much because you won’t get knocked down as frequently!

Speaking of Storm Lock, holy yikes, if you try to return back to the start of the Storm Lock after you´ve survived Zone 3, then you´ll notice that now EVERY SHARD RAIN RATE IS SET AT ZONE 3! 👀 👀

I´d say between 140 and 160-170, depending on how well you evade the shards in the rain and the Skykid´s overall size.

it´s due to the increased speed of the shard rain, as nowadays, they fall faster and in Zone 1, the waves are much quicker as well as denser. More chances in getting hit!

I’ve gone in with maybe 90 (first time) and now I’d start PNR with 141 bc you get 10 wl in the hallway. I’ve only been through four times. First time I went I got 12 candles. Last week I got about 14 so I’m missing some statues every time but it’s not a big deal to me. I’m still working on figuring out a route through that works for me.

I bet one of those statues missed is one really sneakily hidden behind a large rock at the start as well as the 2 beside a cliff opening located between Zones 1 and 2.

And probs also ones deepest in Zone 3 as well.

Oh 100%. I know the exact ones I’m missing in zones 1 and 2. They’re off to the left and not near lanterns so I’ve been cutting my losses with those in order to save wl to get others that are a bit easier. I’ll come up with a good route eventually. 😊

I used to be like that back then, but I know I can't rely on my friends all the time. So I slowly climbed up on my own. If it's too much and so long you haven't reach pnr, the home button is always there, and can always try again some other time (no I don't do shortcut, I feel like that'd make me more scared than being useful, but to each their own)

If your goal is just for AC, there's red shards you can do instead

If you mean the 10 wls you collect along the way till pnr, then yes! If you mean the wing buffs you get after finishing eden (which you probably don't) then nope, you need to finish eden for those.

Generally you don't need to do eden to participate in any events. I'm assuming Aviary is your default spawn? Then so long you at least start the 3rd Revival quest and have all realms unlocked, you should be fine

best times are at the weekends mostly saturday near the reset and when it resets boom more candles. atmost ive been able to get around 17-20 in a run if i hit all the statues before collapse theres about 64 statues? i think. which aint alot cuz each statues costs like half of an asended candle

not only that theres the shattering events that also gives you eden candles. they uhhh are kinda bad giving up to maximum 3.5 asended candels. i dont know if its the asended ones rn.
tldr: maximum atleast in a run (hitting all statues) is 17-20 roughly if done until reset

Is 100 WL enough to reliably get 13 AC from Eden statues before the rain difficulty ramps up and you are much likely to get hit?

13 AC is 52 statues, which means you have to nab every single statue from Zone 1, 2 and even the pre-sand part of Zone 3. You better know how to dodge the shard rain efficiently, especially in Zone 2. 😓

Every time you are hit, you usually lose 6 WL, right? And once its pretty low, it becomes 3, right?

And you´re not the only one, I do my all to get them all in one go as well. Storm Lock doesn´t need a revisit after all, my wl-sanity doesn´t allow it.

Depends on the total amount: more wl you have, more you lose. SInce I go into Storm Lock with 170+ wl, I usually lose 6 on a shard hit. In your case I´d say 5 initially.

When going low, it´s any way between 2, 3 and even 4-5.

Depending where the shard hits you and how big is the shard hitting you. Ones that hit you dead-center take the most.

Yes, the densest shard rain follows an ominous red light on the ground and it´s pretty obvious, where the red light passes, in next 1-2 seconds, the densest shard rain will fall, thus if it passes over you or over the intended path, don´t move a muscle until the densest shard rain passes.

Depends where they are when the reset happens; if they aren´t in Storm Lock at the time of the reset (when daily light refreshes), then they´ll be able to give light to the statues again after entering it. If they are, sorry, need to do Eden again.

Met (and adopted) them on Wasteland's Temple (they befriended first), we went through Vault together and then there's Eden. I think that might be intended. Since there‘s a maximum amount of spirits that can be displayed in every area, maybe they had to reduce the amount of saved statues ascending so all spirits can show up and give you wings at the end. The amount of spirits with wing buffs grows with every season…

It was my first season as a moth
Honestly, it was very difficult for the newer players. We spent a lot of time getting hit and losing wings. It didn’t help that many weren’t very good at the controls yet. Older players definitely helped but at the start everyone was a bit overwhelmed and harried. By the end of the season most of us had started to get the hang of it though and some began to enjoy it.
It also had some unintended effects, like shattering moths getting used to that level of challenge and finding most of the rest of the game not challenging enough (apart from Eden, fire trial, graveyard tree, & some started doing these for fun); something that’s continued to be an issue to this day. I’m not sure devs fully understood or thought through how the first season you experience really shapes your outlook & the way you play the game, or at least I’m not sure they factored it in enough. Overall it really broke away from other seasons and I’m not sure how older players found it, it was definitely the first sort of ‘darker’ season per say. I know some people found it annoying and more trouble than it was worth & those who fell into that category to this day often don’t bother to do the red shards still most of the time.

a bit late, but you can also get ascended candles from red shards that happen about every other day (certain days of the week + shard locations don't appear, exact info on shard Sky wiki page)! You will only get 2-3 candles per shard, but it can certainly help! Prior to my last light fading it was almost like I hit an invisible wall in the dunes before the last two statues, I couldn't move forward at all even when crawling, and then once my last light was gone it flashed a scene from the flying part and now I'm stuck as this light ball under the world it seems like? Being a light ball usually happens after you die in Eden. Most of the time it will only last a minute or two. When it asks you if you want to continue to the next part alone, say yes, and you'll go to the final cut scene

I am ngl I have no idea what channel to ask this in but bc it has to do with Eden I'll ask here.. does anyone have good tips for flying in Eden?? And strong winds in general? I just did so and I think I made some improvement as it only took maybe 6 mins to get from start to the point of no return. (I say 6 because I was trying to help a moth lol + my character lost control like twice..)

For the first section, you can actually fully avoid the rocks by going down to the right to the bottom of the cliff, as there is a ramp you can use to go back up at the further end.
For the second area, there is actually a crack in the wall before the door that you can glitch through if you are normal height, and then you can fly next to the dark clouds all the way to the red chrystal. If you reach that, just run around until you get the pnr message, click X when it asks if you want to go in, and X again when it asks if you want to go home. It will take you to the door just before pnr, and you can get the WLs in the corridor. If you want to actually go into Eden, just walk to the pnr door again.

If you want a less OOB method, I used this video from youtube as a guide. It has all the spots that are sheltered from the rocks and where the krills won't see you until you pass the pipe area. For the last part where you have to cross the open field, it's only good for showing the rock shelter spots, but you will have to keep an eye out for the krill.

And if you actually want to try flying, I would recommend the "Eye of Eden area 1 shortcuts" playlist of the Youtube creator "Sky stuff i guess". They rate the level of complexity for each method. I only succeded 2 times, but skill is still a factor.

when it comes to the winds in the first cliff area, you can fly up them if you do it at just the right angle. If you're angled right for it, you can ride the wind upwards and right up the cliff without even needing to use wings, though the more you have the easier it is.

clip here is me doing it in a single wing which is very difficult, but its much easier with 3-4 wings.

In the second area there's an out of bounds spot like Evanne mentions, which lets you take yourself all the way to the top cave which leads to PNR by following the clouds and flying high into the sky and then diving back down at the entrance. There's no wind the entire route up, so you can kinda just skip the entire area 1 and 2 with some sneaky flying.
If you're wanting to think about flying up eden without out of bounds, i dont have too much practice doing that but i do know that there are many strange invisible walls and floors around which you can run into and get stuck in strange positions, so watch out there as some are within range of krill patrols.

did a little bit of flying up eden, without the out of bounds today, and you can pretty easily fly up past all the krill and rocks, except for the last section which seems to need a few more wings than i have or a better technique.

and i respawn now with 70 wings, so i never need to do a winged light run ever again, the 10 from eden itself will put me at 80 every week and thats enough to get 15 red candles

The last section, leading up to the final Dark Dragon and tunnel to "safety" can be flown over fairly easily - although the wind forces you to the ground for the very least stretch.
All you have to do is time your flight to begin while the rocks are going, and they will have stopped when you are forced to walk the last few steps.

The only scary part is the Dark Dragon itself, which can be a real jerk if it happens to be in the wrong place.

you can go to Eden as many times as you want, but you're only going to get 1/4 of an ascended candle from the same statue once a week

your ability to gain that fraction of a candle from a statue to resets at the time indicated above

You can head into eden as many times as you wish, the thing that resets every Sunday is the statues in the point of no return in eden, the statues that you can give your light to that rewards you with Ascended Candles for each statue you give to (0.25 per statue)

Yes, but generally it's best to do a mid-call when being in the constant shard rain because it cancels other animations out including being stunned and getting up. :)

Maybe because if you're too tall you can't easily go through there, folks aren't familiar with it and/or they prefer not going that route. For folks still under 100-120 WL and/or who struggle getting through Eden without the occasional oops, cutting through there can add more risk as well without portable light to wait in the water with between rain. The interactive map on the wiki shows it as so (first pic) and nastymold's map like this (second pic):

The map in your screenshot isn't included in the ones on the wiki, but looks very similar to the one by that.sky.spaidy that is marked as out of date since the June 2022 patch.

I'm not max height, but kinda close (about +1.8). I don't remember if I can straight up walk through there, but all it takes is a jump or two.
You can squeeze into pretty tight spaces by jumping regardless of height (like into the current Duets backstage room through a tiny crack, where even chibis have to jump).
You also don't have to continue on that route (I don't either), it's just an alternative to going the long way around through a huge open space. Just grab those two, come back, and follow the usual route.

I've had trouble going through there when my avatar was taller before. And for folks with less WL, it only takes one or two rocks to the face(especially if they're jumping) or messing around in the water for too long to lose their light. If they started with 100 they're already at less than 50-60 depending on what way they went first and assuming there were no mistakes prior to that point. People don't really get that freedom to take risks/explore until they build up some buffer.

Can someone explain Eden for me? I'm new to the game and I've only been through once. Is it like a constant rebirth type of deal? You gather the wings and then go sacrifice them?

When do you suggest going back after the first time?

Yes that’s exactly it. By doing it, you can use the rewards (ascended candles) to buy spirits Wing Buffs which are permanent wings that are added to your cape, and it also unlocks the spirit trees further.
Normally when you’re new it’s best to focus on collecting travelling spirits; these are former seasonal spirits of which a single randomised one out of over 90 returns once every fortnight, and they require 2 ascended candles each to unlock (and around 3-13 hearts and 120-200 regular candles for their expressions and items). They often don’t return again for a year or two, so getting them when they’re available is usually a core part of the game.
You don’t have to do Eden every week especially while you’re new; once a fortnight or once a month will probably be enough, as that’s how regularly it will probably be necessary to top up your ascended candles. The only other way to get ascended candles is by doing Red Shards.
So basically; go back once you’re ready to and have 80-120 wing lights in your cape, the more the better; preferably after one or two travelling spirits have come that you’ve collected their buffs.
Realistically once you’ve done Eden once, you gain the benefit of it opening up most of the rest of the game and extra areas, so only do it when you feel like it, and try not to stress over it too much. Just don’t avoid it; some new players do and then never gain the skills they need to be competent and confident navigating it.

Hi. From my exp, you dont need to re light the statues (holding fire) after they're lit. If someone comes before you in thr same instance they will stay lit.

If you reach the window ledge with 2 boosts left, you're good. Walk through the window and go straight for the first big cloud cluster gliding. When you reach it, start flapping straight up until you leave the clouds and see the circular pillars. You can easily reach the upper cloud ring flapping with long pauses as the updrift is super strong and once you reach the second cloud layer it's not long before the sky turns night blue and you see how the camera angle shifts to wide. The you're good

You pretty much have to recollect wings all over again, as you´re reborn with just 1 wl. However, this is where (locks with wings you might´ve seen in spirit trees) comes in.

Wingbuffs are additional winged light you receive in Orbit from Ascended (yellow) Spirits right before rebirth and they pretty much boost your starting wing strength from 1 to a number of them + 1. You just need to purchase them using special candles you can only receive via completing red shard events and giving wings to the Skykid statues at Storm Lock. :)

Not only do they make you stronger at the start, but this also means that next time you go to Eden you can reach more statues and thus receive more ACs (Ascended Candles). :D

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR CURRENT ASCENDED TS (MELLOW MUSICIAN)

This spirit, just like Frantic Stagehand, doesn´t show up in the ascended spirit row before the Rebirth Gate, thus if you pals gave him ACs in order to get his wl, you´ll get it after the credits, which means 2 Orbit WLs (and 3 if you ascended Frantic Stagehand as well!)!

Oh come on. This spirit is bugged too? I don't receive Frantic Stagehand's buff so what's the chances I don't get Mellow Musician's? I even ascended Frantic Stagehand and I still don't get their buff. I'm convinced I have a rare bug in my game.

I got both Frantic Stagehand´s and Mellow Musicians together with Orbit wl (thus 3 wl after credits); had to count though (before I had 69 total wl after rebirth, with Mellow Musician added, I now had 70) ... but else, yeah, neither Mellow Musician nor Frantic Stagehand show up in the ascended spirit line.

Thus one should get 2 total wl after rebirth if they ascended the Mellow Musician only. Guess this is a problem with all Performance spirits.

it might have to do with how many spirits there are, cause at that point its like.. 80? 37 base spirits plus now 65 TS, thats a lot to have loaded at once, even if they only appear for a few seconds when you get near them

I last went to Eden two weeks ago, but before ascending the Scarecrow Farmer. My re-entry¹ WL count was 111.

After ascending both the Farmer and now the Mellow Musician, I went to Eden yesterday. My re-entry WL count was 113.

For some reason, ascended Performance spirits just aren't loading at The Light line-up and their wing buffs are given after going through the exit gate.

¹ Re-entry meaning return to home space from The Light.

Personally, when I was getting back into eden, I found it more helpful to not follow any route right off the bat until I was familiar with the statues layout. Then, I started looking at others' routes and used that to revise my own with what I was comfortable with.

haha that's what i have actually done, just running around and finding these statues, i feel like i am thankfully good at running around, i take time and then move that's how i have survived most of the time

but i guess some routes should be there too, otherwise i dont think i'll be able to do them all

General rule of thumb I follow. If I’m in area one, I literally do not care about damage most of the time since it will take 3-4 hits to actually put me in any real danger. Zone 2 I can tank about 1-3 hits but plan a bit more to go for the lanterns. Zone 3 is just run and make it to the windwall.

Which I seriously hope they either put an instant kill that far out or just let me move on already.

Or make more past it for me to reach.

If you want to get all the statues in one run 120 is a good amount if you don't get hit until the constant rain section. The more - the safer, but around 150 and above is going to be redundant, as you'll be crawling around with, like 20 lights left at the last statue waiting to die.

!er the statues you give the wl to reset weekly, but the wl in the world doesnt have a timer, once you lose them (from eden, shards, krills, etc) you can imediately go pick them back up where ever they are in the world (unless its a shard memory wl)
