it’s not too bad, just go slow and maybe have a look at the suggested route on the wiki just so you know where to go. I’ve only been a few times but i’d say the sound cues are a massive help in the two rocky sections before you enter the statue section (particularly the second rocky rain bit) and also take your time, i’ve seen wayyyy too many people start flying or running and getting obliterated

that being said, i always leg it on the krill section between the two pipe tower things lol

Where do I use ascended candles at?

The ascended candles that you are rewarded for saving the statues are used for a few things - but primarily purchasing permanent wing upgrades from spirits.

Every spirit will have one or more clouded section in their unlock tree. The unlock immediately prior to those will be permanent wing upgrades, which unveil the clouded sections.

When starting the game anew after Eden, you start with additional winged light proportional to the number of those upgrades you have purchased.

You can additionally spend your Ascended Candles on certain spells, such as the height re-rolling spells, or on upgrading your friendship level with other players.

The latter unfortunately does not grant you additional permanent winged light, despite appearing the same as the wing unlocks possessed by spirits.

The spells are available in the spell shop in Aviary village, the spell boat in the old home, or the Ark in the Golden Wasteland - one you have completed that season's quests.

Some only cost one for the unlock, while others can be up to 12. Typically the spirits in the earlier areas will be cheaper, along with the unlocks lower on their trees.

The important thing to know about the height re-rolls is that you get three of them for each 10AC purchase.

AC is short for Ascended Candles, as I do not enjoy typing on mobile.

The height re-rolls are spells which randomly change the height of your character, permanently.
They are the only way to change your Sky Kid's height in a lasting manner.

They are expensive at first. Especially if there is a specific height you wish to be.
However, because they are permanent you only need to buy them until you have achieved your desired height.

Another form of spell you can purchase with AC are the instant recharge spells.

They are useful spells which fully refill your light, however they are single use.
I personally do not think they are worth the price, however I suppose if one has no other use for their candles then they may be useful.

yep! folks typically do it in the hidden rainforest or golden wasteland, which are also common areas for beginners to lose their light because they don't realize it's a hazard

but also, some folks want the challenge of flying with few cape wedges again. or they want to be capeless (still not sure how to do that myself). losing light fast achieves that. so that's why folks will lose light outside of PNR

Is completely ok. If a Krill went through a wall, it usually means server merge. And well, crashing is like exiting the game; it'll prompt you to return back to Storm Lock and complete it.

Moth here, about 10 days into the game. I was finishing up the Little Prince quest line and accidentally ended up beyond the Point of No Return in Eden for the first time.

Totally worth it. The end cutscenes were great when combined with the Little Prince content. I got 6 ascended candles for my trouble, plus an excuse to go out and find all those WL once again in new game plus.

when a red shard happens, like today in treehouse (in forest) you clear the darkness from a shard and then do an activity where you collect the memory pieces, and then you get ac (ascended candles) and can meditate to go into a shard memory
there are 6 different ones, if you havent finished the shattering guides quests you will see different ones then everyone else but once you complete the quest line its random and everyone sees the same one

The reason why its not glowing is because you dont have a cape on. The Elder masks are directly tied yo your capes. Like if your cape is starting to fade because of rain, it will start to fade too.

But this has not always been the case, a few patches ago it glowed there just fine, i can probably find a few screenshots of it. The previous patch it was broken, and wouldnt show up at all until you grabbed a winged light again

so if this is a new change, its news to me

Had to go check myself, but there is no effect on the glow while your cape is draining, until you fully run out of light and begin draining your actual flame itself, in which case the effect is rather dramatic

They are Elder Masks. The Elders for the first three realms have an ultimate prize. If you buy enough from the spirits in their realm they each make available a mask. You can buy the mask at any later time for lots of candles. I think the cheapest one costs 75 candles. The masks act identically. Each one, when worn, allows you to take one hit, no matter how strong, and shrug it off. Instead of losing fire or wings, the mask just breaks. You can get the mask mended, for free, by visiting the Elder Spirit in their temple or in Orbit.

When I go back to Aviary after the PNR, all the entrances to other areas are blocked either by rubble or spirit gates

The ship is also gone, and so is the friendship statue

I didn’t see any spirits besides the Praying Acolyte, which is kind of funny. (I may have just missed the other spirits)

You can spend ascended candles on traveling spirits to gain a wing buff - an extra winged light that you are reborn with. There is no traveling spirit in the game currently so you don’t have to worry about that. Candles and hearts don’t matter in Eden - only how much winged light you have in your cape matters.

You're referring to the standard constellation spirits! You can buy from them at anytime from both of the homespaces, it's not exclusive to only eden. What you get from eden after saving statues, is ascension candles/ascended candles/eden candles,aka AC. It is needed to ascend spirits to get a "wing buff" which is added to your winged light count after being reborn. You don't have to buy any while inside eden before getting reborn. But when you do, you can immediately get the buff you just bought after rebirth. Rather than waiting until you go to eden the next time to collect your winged buff.
You can also buy things from the elders in eden using AC after finishing the standard constellations. You can only buy from the elders in eden before rebirth. I hope I explained this well

If you bought it, you keep it. Winged light from a spirit's friendship tree is depicted with a lock. "Unlock" it and the spirit will have ascended (turns a yellow color). So any spirit you can buy from that has a winged light lock counts towards your total.

And you end the game by entering the lobby. So whole game isn't a metaphor about aging and maturing, but about becoming less of a 🇸 🇸 🇸 🅱️ . Why? Because the trials and other seasonal content unlock only on the second and so on playthroughs. You can't age twice, but to become less 🇸 🇸 🇸 you need to constantly hone your social skills. You need a proof in Among Us? Sure, here you go. There is a task about swiping an id. What happens when you move the letters in " 🇸 🇸 🇸 🅱️ ID"? Correct, it's "Sky Kid" and some more unneeded letters.

I see no reason it would not be possible, but you are not given your Ascended Candles until you reach orbit. So it would not be a particularly productive use of your time.

At worst, you would never receive the candles despite having lit the statues. And so locking yourself out of them for the week.

I won't say there is no correlation, but the rock rain moves in waves. It is not a solid sheet that can be easily signified as "starting" or "stopping".

If you zoom your camera out fully, and look straight down, you will be able to very easily see how the rain travels.

There are many individual sections of rain. Even should there be a sound effect to indicate when one begins, you may be surrounded on several sides by individual paths of rain.

You may think of Eden as three sections of "Light", "Medium", and "Constant" rockfall, but that is not an accurate depiction of how the rocks work.

The rain sweeps along multiple parts of each section at a time - it is not simply "on" or "off"

Yeah, spamming jump is extremely helpful, but stops working at around 20WL for some reason, as the falling animation keeps playing over and over even though I'm not getting audible hits or losing WL 😄

I got kinda plowed by rocks on my current run, but miraculously got really lucky at the last part and it felt like I got spared like 30wl, and managed to get to the end. About to find out how many candles I got from it :D

I also got the candles light prop from the workshop, and it was a great help as well

I am fairly confident that the damage is dependent on whether you were hit directly or not. The rocks have a small splash radius once they impact an object, but can also strike you directly.

I do not know for certain, but that is how it seems to me.

The size of the rock may be a factor, but it is too difficult to tell.

Eden route you say. I kinda just sway and bob around, it works pretty well, I don't go for perfect as long as it's 14-15 (which it is as of my previous run, I think I know all of the statues now)
I also kinda enjoy doing it freely, having a route makes it feel like a chore and it gets samey, I like when things are different every time :D

I did eden with a friend for the first time and uh she did a skip. I replicated that skip on my own eventually (without a guide, very proud) and never did the actual climb xD

I find the skip super satisfying, probably because I'm proud that I figured it out from a single trip with my friend

That is how I would describe the Eden skips, as they are not difficult, nor do they require you to abuse game mechanics.

The Fire and Earth trial skips, on the other hand, require abusing the movement assist.

Somebody took me through the trials a long time ago, when I was randomly following them.

From that one accidental encounter I learnt the Earth skip, Chibi Falling, and about the existence of Fire skip.

Oh I get it now. Yeah the fly around in eden is very creative, I like it. Getting in took me a few tries, like 10 teleports home and 10 more resets inside eden, but it was worthhh! I keep forgetting to respond to a specific message

Earth skip is the most powerful of all the skips.

A single trick at the beginning, then you are at the end.

Previously that title would have gone to Air skip, but that was removed.

I only remember one part of the fire skip near the end, guys were trying to path up the rock from a candle-grave thingy, and I just nailed it 2nd try. I kinda have a feel for the pathing on some days, and on others it just does inputs I didn't think through

On my first air run I did do a small skip in the middle, but couldn't replicate it, I skipped one of the parts completely. like a 15-20% area skip at most

Old air skip used to involve clipping out of bounds in the cave, and then touching an invisible loading zone which led to the end platform of Air.

The only thing I found easier to remember from a single instance of it occurring was the very first skip in Eden, where you can simply jump in the hole and walk up the other side.

Now I have an even better method, but it was so easy that I used it for a long time.

Immediately after you go through the first door, you can simply jump off the edge to avoid the first section of rocks.

There is a convenient ramp up the other side of the gully.

I struggle to do the flight trick, but now that I have a light prop I can retry a bit more easily so I can practice it more

I typically aim for the end of the first rock section, where the small fire is. Then when I am almost there, I angle up towards the end if I have enough flight remaining.

Though I do not know if that is necessary, as I do it entirely on accident.

there's a limited amount of ascended candles you can get from Eden every week, based on the 63 statues that exist in the point of no return

i only need 90 in total for eden, i usually only miss like 3 or 4 statues with that number
so really like 24 more, and any extra after that just makes it easier

after this season im hoping i can switch between two elder masks inside eden, so i can use one to make it to the final cover, and use one to dive into the final no cover area
but we'll see if thats even allowed

that might make me only need 80 wings, which would be crazy

I bet thats possible as long as you have a cloak that is able to teleport you somewhere else, like the Radiance one.

what i want to do is pop this season's ultimate item down, swap outfits to get a new elder mask, and then dive into the last rock rain with a major headstart

i'll be able to buy either isle or prairie's masks whenever i get the ultimate
