Before the recent update, the tradeoff was generally that smaller players got hit less, but had to fight more wind to move forward, but now since they’ve balanced that I think going smaller is better than bigger

Before they did but it didn’t make a huge difference. In moderately tall, and since the update, especially past the rock arch & even more the last torch, I get hit a heck of a lot more and I suspect it’s certainly size related cause my smaller friends don’t struggle as much there

I use chibi+elder mask and a fire source whenever i go to eden basically. I hide behind rocks as much as i can and run/hop as best i can during the end part. Though I genuinely don't know what I'm doing different from the rest of you but i can try to describe it better in the dms if you want?

I have noticed rocks in the actual climb to the cave now seem to just instantly break shields when they would almost burn you out

Interesting, yeah. I took a rock to the face one time though before the cave because a Sky kid pushed me out accidentally out of cover and I didn't get burnt out or break my shield but I was almost extinguished.

Oh wow the new Eden updates are SO BAD!!! Like it shouldn’t be this hard! Before it was like a timing and skill based challenge, but this time just felt PUNISHING! I’m like genuinely discouraged, this was such an awful experience. Weren’t we supposed to be able to take more hits? I was getting one hit and taken out and I have 8 wings, and then when I was knocked down I got stuck in the animations and kept getting obliterated over and over! This was so bad I hope they fix it because as a vet, that was the worst experience I’ve had with this game

Eden was so bad. So so bad. They need to fix it. I lost 25 wls getting hit ONCES and then got pelted so far at the end unable to get up or move or do anything, went from 40 to 7 and couldn't crawl till it got to 7. This was so much harder and it makes me not want to do it ever again.

I don't want to play until it's fixed, at least the old way was tolerable 😭

I fall in strange spots between the rocks, because you just fall through solid looking surfaces. the way i like to do it is on the right side, fly all the way back until you see a square of dark water. you'll see a crack in the rocks leading you to the cave, flap up and angle yourself through the crack and eventually you'll enter midway through the cave. no krills, no getting stuck
it's easier to get through the crack if you are small i believe but i am tall and can still do it

The old trick of animation cancelling with mid-honk still works. When you get knocked down, do a honk for half a second and you will instantly stand up (if you have more than 20 wl left). Managed to get a full clear today with it without breaking a sweat.

Just did Eden for the first time since the update and the knock back was terrible. There were a couple times where I was in a shelter and just barely got caught by a rock and it knocked me far enough out that I lost a bunch of winged light

An Open Complaint To TGC:

What in the crap? What is this movement change in Eden? Why do I suddenly need to STOP IN THE OPEN to pass on a WL now? I GLITCHED and got stuck to a statue because of this change. I had 60 WL and the last 3rd of the map but now I'm stuck in the open and down to 0 WL in less than 2 minutes because my Sky kid can't decide if it wants to move to safety like I tell it to or keep doing its forced animation of offering a WL to an already lit statue. This is awful and unnecessary. The fixed step and cover spots are wonderful but you ruined all those changes by messing with how we move. Why? Who told you this was a great idea? Fire them. It wasn't broken until you "fixed it." 🙄

its already in the known issues channel, so clearly they're aware of some things in eden and are looking to change it. there are also ways to use the new movement to your advantage and actually move significantly faster than normal in eden which i observed on my last trip, but was too occupied by helping moths to measure out and record

yes eden is bugged. yes it sucks that you lose out on a ton of statues because you get stuck. yes its frustrating to deal with. but why are you throwing this frustration on the devs? Sure they made a mistake but that happens all the time in coding. As someone who is learning programming, I can only imagine just how much goes on behind the scenes and how much time and effort it takes to comb through their code to find the issue and fix it. Things will break all the time even when it seems like you did everything right. Especially when they are updating and implementing new things into the game, they have to take into account how that affects all the other programs running simultaneously. Firing ppl is a wild take and I think if you are this mad about the game, you should probably step away from playing until the eden patch comes out. Or you can do what I plan to do and be prepared to only get a certain number of statues, or just not do eden at all.

If you your sole purpose is to have that experience and dish out a hateful rhetoric instead of systematically pointing out the bugs, it really is your silliness.

It's not impossible to get ascended candles, but you probably won't get all of them that are available. There is a wind wall near the end that soft locks you, and the red shards falling could knock you out of a hiding place when they manage to clip through

really its only like the last, I want to say like 10-15 statues that are in the final section which are difficult to get. there are like 50 or so of them which aren't in that final section and are actually a little bit easier to get, meaning you can grab 12-13 out of the full 15.75 from eden like normal, which is still a pretty good amount, i'd say.

I make a point to go there every week regardless, so while im not pulling 15 a week with less than 100 wings anymore im still getting enough to make it worth it, heh.

I also just blew all of mine at a face accessory and buying most of the wing buffs in the base constellations, so now i only have like 40 left which is far too low if i want to have a bunch saved up when and if they ever add more cosmetics to elder constellations

Let me rephrase. The red falling rocks will hurt you in Eden and they've been clipping through hiding spots and hurting players. But it's still worth it to do an Eden run as the daily fallen shard from the season of shattering is broken rn. The regular shards will still give pieces of light when you melt the darkness, but with the red shards, you can melt the darkness, but the second part where you meditate to begin the fragment collection activity, that is broken and won't start. So you're not going to get any ascended light from that, so the only way to get ascended light rn is an Eden run

stuff like collision detection and things like that can get pretty complicated, heh. and while i cant see how its handled, players have different heights which might move or adjust the hitbox, further complicating things. i've heard some people who are shorter having a better time, but my friend who is very short was stunlocked for like a good 10 seconds, and i havent gotten it that bad yet, despite being very tall.

i know it does affect the kind of water you can stand in, i think theres a spot in wasteland's graveyard where some dark plants you can burn, but if you're too short the water will cause you to swim, so out of the both of us, only I can actually burn the plants lol

I got the last statue last time, with 200+ wing, an elder mask, and a torch. But honestly it wasn’t worth it. The second last statue is realistically the last one that’s attainable without it being ridiculous. The last one is really a write off. You could still do it with less wings than me, but without being able to see anything & the stress, I’d honestly recommend most people just let it go

Sorry for the OP's vague answer. But as someone responded before, those clouds there are simply decoration. The area above actually corresponds to The Light, which is reached after going through Eden and Orbit.

When you reach the starry area that has a large combo constellation/closet shrine on the floor, you can find the map shrine underneath a starry arch on the right of the path toward the exit portal.

It's kinda a matter of getting lucky tbh. Not jumping in the last part of PNR is helpful, but even so, some people might still get stunlocked anyway. Height doesn't seem to matter either, from what I hear

For me I feel that spam jumping helped a lot after the last shield wall. I tried at two different heights, it seemed the tall model got blown over a lot by an unexpected wind whereas the chibi wasn't affected.
Try out what works best, some of it could also be device specific, even if it's just one android device to another - TGC doesn't seem to have all of the details down equally between how things affect different devices

Just had the most wholesome conversation with probably the most brave moth I've ever met. While they did follow my actions they did so in coordination while in Eden. They friended me and I unlocked chat with them after I led them through danger. I used a swing prop spell to ask them if it was their first time and they said yes. So I asked them again if they were ready, and that they risk losing all winged light if they go past the point of no return. I even asked if they were scared. They said they were kinda scared but also not quite ready to go through yet. I told them it's okay and that the true beauty of the game lies just past that point of no return and I told them that it's okay to not feel ready. I unlocked chat with the moth and led them through the rest of the tunnel winged lights. I told them to not go any further than where we were standing at the last winged light. They thanked me, and told me they had to go offline. I gave them a hug and told them I'd be here when they were ready.

The last part after the last recharge station was a crazy blur - unfair for newbies really. But for me, I got my best score ever today in Eden with 15.5acs using and Elders mask. I went alone - started with 186wl and had about 20 wings to spare at the end. I didn’t jump at the end and never got stunlocked- so don’t be intimidated by what everyone’s been saying. I’m not an Eden regular and usually average under 14acs there.

But it will also unlock your ability to see and find all the past seasonal spirits (of which there are dozens and dozens) so you can collect them - doing Eden for the first time unlocks the rest of the game basically. You can use your new ascended candles to unlock the wing buffs from the current visiting group of spirits in the camping space, and those wings will become permanently added the next time that you do Eden

Any map shrines you’re collected stay; unlocking those is permanent. Some areas need quests to be completed to be unlocked fully, but apart from those the majority of the map will be open to you. But yeah you can go to whichever realm you want

if you are talking about walking through the first part of eden, its probably still rough for chibi's. it always has been. the ending i dont know. the past two times i've been normal sized.

it seemed the same. it also depends how much you have built up in your candle meter to begin with. i think i ended up getting 16 candles, but my meter was 3/4 full. so it seems normal.

if it was less than normal its possible you missed a statue or two . even though its better in the update now, i noticed they decreased the spawn time of ALL the rock rain, so its more hecktick at the start part then before. also a tip. when you get knocked over, honk to get back up. it cancels the slow stand up animation making you stand up immediately. it helps.

Ok so, finally did Eden since the hotfix and that was so so much better. I somehow missed one statue somewhere, I think it mightve been one in the rock rain at the final segment because I couldn't see anything but I DID manage to make it to the very last statue at the end of the dune with 20 WL left when I reached that statue.

In Eden right now with 2 friends and holy guacamole, they indeed made it so much easier. I made it to the last statue and back to before the neverending rain with 35 WL to spare.

I'm still alive hopping around like a chicken with their head cut off it's so much fun when I get hit and slide around as much as I do.

I had a weird Eden trip today but only at the last part. 1. I used to run through with less wl in general but had more left over at the end and all statues. Now after the update I have the feeling every little stone hits me and puts out my light, not really kicking out my wl but grey so I can't light candles. And I have the feeling I got stone locked earlier again but only a little. Like how I came to the last statue so easily now I had 4 more to give and was at 0.
2. After I died my screen zoomed out and everything got white and I could look from above but when I moved my camera everything got black only the Eden light with the circle was there. Pretty weird, anyone else??

Something i've noticed is that random hits while it isnt currently pouring down seem WAY more common now, everywhere in eden where it can rain rocks at all. I can only wonder if its because im tall that maybe im more likelly to get hit like that?

I actually lose winged light and my mask in situations where its not the waves of rain, but the random hits, i'll jump out of cover and then get absolutely clocked with a rock or two immediately LOL

It really makes sense as to how much damage has been scaled up since the patch introducing these changes because before the RNG didn't make much sense going into the neverending rain. You'd go in and just randomly get hit and start crawling but you wouldn't be taking all these hits like you do now. I am a fan of these changes.

Hi, did an eden run saturday, it was a while since i went there. I managed to no have to crawl during all the run, did tgc removed it ?
Also, when i was hit around the last last last one ( don't know how to says that in english) rocks smacked me multiple time without any solution for me to move. Was it a bug ? Heard about eden not being cool for a few patches ?

TGC fixed it so that you only crawl after you get down to 10 WL. The stunlock should be fixed, but if you got stunlocked at that part, maybe #report-a-live-bug?

Ran eden today with 179 wl. I made it to the end with about 30 remaining and then realized I missed one earlier, so I managed to scramble all the way back to the last checkpoint to grab it with about 4 wl remaining. Update is great XD

The wind definitely seemed to be worse when I went back, though. I almost felt like walking against a wind wall sometimes.

Friended 2 moths who had a bit of a struggle climbing the mountain that I had to save a couple times. One questioned if we were real and I assured them I was human and everyone else they encountered in their journey (Sky kids) were real people like them. I do think that TGC needs to give a proper introduction to moth players that aren't aware if the players we meet are human or NPCs more, but they're definitely getting better about it.

Anyways, I friended them both, used a chat table spell to tell them about the risk of losing all winged lights ahead and if they were ready. Both were unsure at first so I told them absolutely no pressure at all if they weren't ready. After a couple more minutes one decided to go in. The other stayed and asked if they would fail if they lost all their wings. I simply told them that failure doesn't mean the end of everything and that I won't spoil what happens when they do. So I unlocked chat with that one and then I told them to be brave and never quit.

They went in after a hug exchange and I told them I'd see them on the other side. Good luck Devon and Ian!

I am not sure where to post this, but I have such a wholesome moment I want to share. I had already done my Eden run for the week, but I met a moth in vault. She was the sweetest human. She was so scared about going into Eden so I said, ahh heck I can always get my lost wing light later. I took her through Eden up to the point of no return. I told her “you can do it! Be brave!” (We didn’t lose any wing!) I waited for her at aviary and promised to be there waiting. She finished and found me. We are from two opposite sides of the world yet she touched my heart. Now we play together whenever we both are online at the same time. She honestly helped me more than she knows. I love helping new players and I love helping others through Eden! I think because my first experience on the game someone lead me through Eden. Idk why this game just has such beautiful moments like this. I never thought I’d feel so much emotion from a video game.

when you get to the last part of eden, where all the statues are and you’re being pelted with rocks and stuff, the ultimate ending is your death :)) it’s basically a way for you to collect ascended candles to upgrade your spirits, which will in turn get you more winged light to collect. try to light as many statues as possible, and give away as much winged light as you can!

before the end phase of eden your goal is to basically avoid krill and rocks, which is easy enough if you know where all the little nooks and stuff are :) there are some very good youtube tutorials that i can send you if you like

if you see any big statues, like the one in homespace where you collect your daily reward candles, light those because they will recharge you. statues that are shaped like other skykids need to have your winged light given to them, to get a higher number of ascended candles. nearer the end, as you progress through, it will get harder, but this is normal :) it will get easier once you have finished the process, gained more winged lights than you have atm, and then you can repeat it all again

I went in with 91 wings instead of 115, and i made it a single statue further than my tall run last week. I also did notice i was being randomly hit by rocks while moving from cover to cover far less frequently.
The final segment roughly came out the same both times, i passed the final cover/torch on both with 30 wings left, which just shows i lost 25 more wings as tall before that point, due to damage from random rock strikes.

Next week i think i'll do 90 range as tall again, and see if any damage scaling has an effect.

It seems to me the main difference between tall and chibi heights right now is the random rock hits in eden, which seemed very rare as chibi ( i got clonked only a couple times ) and as tall its extremely common, hitting me many times sometimes back to back enough to break my mask in the earlier v ideo

I believe this is due to an issue with hitting the safety/quality performance entity cap in Orbit. The game does not display the Stagehand in the line of spirits, so they give the Stagehand’s wing to you after you go through the door.

Do not use the return shrine… Chibi fall into the Eden gate (since it‘s closed), so you‘re teleported into the social space of Eden. From there go up the way to pnr again, that‘ll refresh Eden so you can die again (better don’t collect wings on your way, since you’re invulnerable while capeless)

You can only become permanent capeless if you never collected any wing since you started sky. But you can become temporary capeless if you lose your last wing at home and use return shrine at the same moment when the wing breaks. Then you‘ll be capeless only until you return home

The one aspect of The Storm in Eden that can be considered completed each time you visit is offering your Light to each of the statues of the Fallen. There are over 60 of these. (someone else will know the current exact number)

They can break at the first hit. They resist a certain amount of damage and then break. A single direct hit from a Krill can break them in one – though that just breaks the mask and it takes all the damage so you don't lose anything else.

they did change it recently - i believe that rock rain now does more damage but you can move more quickly after being extinguished and crawling only happens once you’re below 10 wl - so overall, the beginning is a bit harder but the ending is much easier

There is still, only the interval period is much shorter.

At times you literally need to hop from shelter to shelter just as the interval begins in order to not get caught by the next one.

Shards don't do more damage, there's only more of them, which is a yikes.

You are not supposed to be able to complete Eden. It is very unusual for someone to revive all the statues. If you've missed just four statues you did very well.

Because Eden represents you dying trying to complete a task. The seven places you can go from your Home are the Ages of Life. They start small and easy with no threats, and get more complicated and dangerous until finally you meet a challenge which is too much for you, and kills you. Then you re born again, sometimes a little wiser or with better skills.

I don't know where it is, or how I keep missing it. Literal skill issue on my part but I keep missing exactly one stupid statue somewhere in Eden, and it's not the dune, I'm thinking maybe it's somewhere off to my right side because I don't tend to see anything I've missed to my left while zooming my camera out to investigate. The camera doesn't like to play nice when looking to the right side of the map for me.

I did notice the increased amount of airborne debris towards the very end of PNR can make it difficult to make out the last statues. the second to last time I went to eden, I got disoriented and missed two statues
