For a free tip, if u read musical notation, I often just Google a proper sheet or a piano tutorial on YouTube and take a base of that

Then just work around the lack of semitones and add more buttons cause we don't have a sustain pedal to keep the chord steady

Has anybody managed to record music longer than 30 seconds Nintendo Switch? I want to upgrade my slow phone, and this sounded the most interesting option - until I found out, that longer recordings requires these two things:

Apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately, you are mostly correct.

The third option would be to aim a camera/phone at the switch screen while you play and record that way, but that of course would capture your hands.

Fourth option is to have a friend in game on mobile record the video for you while you play.

Going back to the capture card option though, should be noted that this will not work with switch lite. Switch lite is not equipped with the hardware required to output an external video signal

||Alright, here’s some context. The snow on the ground symbolizes a child named Snow, the snow in the trees symbolize a child named Flakes, the trees themselves symbolizes a child named Thorn, and the aurora symbolizes a child names Aurora. You can also hear parts of Enraged Thorns in the song, plus some other ones that I haven’t shown like Cryo and Fubuki. There are also parts of Zephyr, but more so the beginning part of that song. It’s all symbolic. Also, this theme I made to me feels like it’s on a thin line of love and hate. It could be the scale which I set it to, it being Gb, so yeah, take it with a grain of salt (I purely wanted Cyan notes)||

Sky Studio will be your best friend in this, there is a practice mode that helps you a lot in the beginning
You just need to have a MIDI of the music you want and save it on the app, just start playing slow and pick up the pace as you go

Hmm it’s kind of difficult to do! Since Sky instruments only have the 15 notes and if the note you need isnt there you just Can’t Play It… I usually substitute by going for the nearest note that sounds ok or playing the note before/after twice? Depends on what sounds nicer ultimately

Yeah unfortunately there’s no way to just… get more notes or anything like that?? You always have just 15 notes (or less depending on the instrument) and you have to work with what you’ve got.

I think a different location would give you a different set of notes to work with but I’ve never actually played with that myself because I like to keep it consistent and always practice in the same spot

3/7. Hoo boy, it’s that time again. I snuck in a bit of Bonetrousle in there, but it’s a very little snippet of it. If you watched “Megalovania played on a Samsung”, then this might sound a little familiar and you'd be right. Oh yeah, I once had to remake this song because it got corrupted when saving it. you can download these files from a lot of different places (i listed a few here: #sky-music message). once you have a sheet of the song you want, head to any music composer (Sky Studio, Sky Music, or Sky Music Nightly), and import it there. if you’re having difficulty with this, feel free to come back and ask each of these different programs will have practicing options for any sheets that you upload

for how to learn to play more music:
a few tips:

• practice in one of those composing apps i mentioned above (or in the Sky game itself)! if you just play the song over and over again, it will help you build muscle memory
• you can take advantage of the in-game music sheets (you can easily get these from base-game spirits with candles/hearts). practicing using these sheets will help you get used to Sky’s interface.

I think this is very individual. When I played a real song last time, I had two pairs of headsets on my ears: earbuds from smartphone, where I had Sky Music app open, and computer headphones, where I listened to music I played, set on repeat. So I knew that I played it correctly by hearing that I am in tune with the song. But I guess other people do it differently.

You can start learning with the in-game sheets.
The sheet #2 (Whale Wisperer Spirit in Hidden Forest) is great for that, because the background music gives the rhythm during almost the whole song, and the pace is not so fast. Listening to the sheet before playing it (on youtube .b e.) may be useful.
If you want to learn songs arranged by other players, the Sky Music app has a lot of sheets. There is also the same keyboard as in game, so you can practice offline.

but i think that's what makes it fun! Transcripting those songs into sky format requires your own input rather than just changing midi's soundfont. Not even mentioning how much you can learn both about the song itself and music making overall.
