It immediately reminded me of a turtle just from the flippers on the front of the cape, like right as I saw it, maybe it’s cause I spent a lot of time on sea creatures when I was younger

Except the concept of the dragon turtle existed before avatar came out, much of atla and this season is based on the same cultural origin so it’s only natural to notice some overlap 👁️ 👄👁️

I’m a bit dissapointed that they decided to push for the Monday release, I’ve found many bugs on live server today. I guess I’ll take it with a grain of salt and accept that new patches are inevitably buggy at the start.

or you’re talking to a brick wall which I have no advice for really.
Anyway the second part “Only the items that were tied behind the Season of Belonging Adventure Pass will have the AP restriction, and will be marked with the Season of Prophecy symbol.” I read this as any items that was locked behind the pass from Belonging will be required the current pass. Not any season before(or behind?) Belonging.

SkyShrug and whatever required ap when the spirit was here in it's own season, should be ap locked now due to testing the new system. if i misunderstood then srry from everyone.

Well before that happens,

but who was it earlier (yesterday) whose traveling spirit didn’t register the first time they did it? It happened to me just now, had to relive the spirit twice, (not gonna cold ping the person twice)
Did you warp home immediately after finishing ? I think that’s why, I did that the first time and it showed as if I didn’t do it at all, the second time I waited until after it showed up in my emote menu to warp back home, the spirit allowed me to buy it from them after that.

@radiant drum I don't know how anyone managed to access that area because I tried everything but that hole in the Isle of Dawn has nothing but a barrier, so it looks like it's a hacker who did it. Well I was able to access following an added friend but it is recommended to wait for the season to start Monday

what's unclear at this point is whether Season of Belonging was chosen specifically as a test sample, and whether this is reflective of what the final system's intention might be (e.g. does it affect all seasons, just belonging, or belonging and prior seasons?) -- there's actually a lot of blank gaps that i read right over and filled in unconsciously when first reading it yesterday

I submitted feedback already, but I was curious abt how others would feel abt it, so I'll ask:
How would you feel about having the travelling spirit schedule at the start of the month so that you know what's coming? Instead of the individual teasers releasing, there would be official prices to avoid misinformation and...illegitimate information from circulating. If spirits are decided in advance instead of via RNG, the community could also potentially vote from a selection of 3-4 spirits for each returning spirit to avoid complaints.

Not everyone has the money to buy a pass every time. If this goes through you won’t be able to collect any items from TS unless you get a pass, meaning if you want anything from a TS you need a pass every season, and forget about off season, it’s unlikely anyone will be able to get any TS during off-season unless they preorder which isn’t the entire offseason

I like the idea (if it's possible with the game mechanics. Keri in mind the engine they use has restrictions they can't always bypass) to have ap holders get the past ap items free but those without ap to still get it at candle cost for ts.

TS are a lot of candles that is true but it does make up for not spending the money on the actual season. If you keep up with candle runs during the weeks you can get enough candles to pay for the items

you're phrasing it like everything will be pass locked. only items that were originally pass locked will be locked on the ts.
I don't really like this system either, but i don't think they should get rid of it completely. I like the idea of having the reduced price for ap holders while non pass players have to pay the full price

I think one of the things is that ts made it so you didn't need to pay anything to get the cosmetic, it offered a money-free way to get them if you can't afford a pass while still having newer players work for the cosmetics. And that's an amazing system. But if tgc intends to remove that then there's really not much of a point to a ts- wouldn't making aspects of a ts pay-to-get just be like bringing the season back one spirit at a time without the ultimate gift? (which I think the ultimate gift is incentive to buy the season pass in the first place) Why not just bring back the whole season? Then that plays into ultimate gifts- I belive it's just easier to keep the system we have in live Currently. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk pFIRE

I think the TS candle cost is really high. Players who got items during the season just need to spend 10 USD and 20 minutes per day to do the quests. But after the season we have to spend 30 + dollars per spirit (average 110 candle per TS / around 3.8 candles per dollar), or spend 1.5-2 hours daily grinding candles. Also, this game isn't eye-friendly, and grinding for so long long is really bad for the eyes and can cause eye problems in the long run.

I guess the announced method isn't good for many, but I appreciate that TGC is trying to change the current situation. Maybe a balance point is changingTS candle cost to 80% for non-payers and 40% to pass holders.

@serene fern honestly, me and a friend of mine are losing motivation to play the game now that we saw this

Like the TS is supposed to be for players who couldn't get the cosmetics from previous seasons, so when I came back literally 2 years later due to immense schoolwork, I was sad because I thought I couldnt get the cosmetics anymore.
But when my friends explained to me about Travelling Spirits, I was somewhat happy and it made me motivate to play the game again more.

But now after seeing this? I might consider quitting the game... :/

for me, my experience wasn't really about personal space. It was just the fact that this one player would not stop following me and my friend around. We would be doing literally nothing, just standing around in Vault, and the other player would stand there with us and stare and then chase us around if we moved. They even went Home with us and followed us through the Prairie portal. It was super weird.

I just hope both cosmetic options for each spirit is cycled. Let's say the hair is in the Pass in their first visit.
Now their cape is on the pass of their second visit with the hair isn't.

Increasing the frequency to every week would be very good for this too. So that we can get more repeats

Not really... The reason it was so hard before was because on average you needed 100 candles with no discounts...now if they come and on average cost 60 then that;s not bad at all, you can do 2 realms for s, su, m, t, w, th and be fine

This is just an example but if spirits cost 100 candles now, and they hypothetically make the cost 50, now you only have to get 50 candles every two weeks
But if the spirit is 50 candles and they come weekly, now you need to get 100 candles every two weeks again and you’re stressed

I’m not sure about everyone else but I feel like as the seasons come more numerous and therefore the ts come more numerous that the current ts system will need a rework. The chance of any given ts returning is going to nose dive the longer it runs. I’m just not sure what would be the best way to improve it.

@lusty light i would really rather just make the most of having a pass at hand... if I have a pass for 70 days, then that’s 70/7 —> 10 spirit’s that could visit at that time

But say it comes very 14 days then:
70/14 = 5 spirits that could visit at that point

What if I’m not able to afford the next pass?

Yea but that;s just my opinion... I want to make the most out of it :o, plus increasing the frequency means less pressure — because now it’s bound to come back sooner or later.. cause you get 10 spirits instead of 5, the 5 spirits just means you have to wait longer to get the spirit you want — hence MORE grinding. The one time the spirit shows up, you have to wait forever for the next time!

Mainly to clarify, I think its better that the AP items TS are made free for those who have AP. For those who don't have AP still have to do it the normal way we have now. People are complaining its hard to candle run and its stressful, but I don't think making it AP-only for certain cosmetics would help things at all. I think its a lot better if the TS remains the way it is now, but for those who have AP, the AP cosmetics are free.

I absolutely agree with that. I was the same when I was new. But surprisingly for me, it was actually easy to memorize where all the spots are for CR.
I guess for a lot of those new players, they don't know where to get the wax and I'm pretty sure new players probably don't even know how much wax you can get if you manage to get them all. When I found out, I was pretty shocked myself-

Saying that discord represents a small minority of players is not the same as saying that our voices don't matter. Our input is invaluable. Direct contact between devs and players helps in ways you probably haven't imagined. And keep yourselves happy and healthy! Your voice matters, but repeating and restating your own feelings won't elevate your input it will only frustrate, because things will not change today... or tomorrow.

Tough to say. Fire (both Trial and Prophet) came later than the others in Beta, but in the Prophet's case that wound up having to do more with bugs than any intentional delay. It's possible that fireboi was initially delayed intentionally (to be released alongside the trial), but then bugs delayed him further, and we wouldn't really know the difference.

@odd field Actually, I think the new season could be located in the Isle of Dawn, under the sea near the entrance. We could be able to dive underwater, and swimming controls would be similar to flying controls but we could be able to walk on surfaces like the ocean floor. Creatures of dark like sea urchins, sharks, piranhas, and other things could be added and creatures of light like fish, coral, kelp, etc. could also be introduced (also, jellyfish. Lots of jellyfish). There could be lil mini lava vents things at the bottom of the ocean floor that work like hot springs on Sanctuary Islands. There could be a lighter area near the surface of the water that's brighter and has more creatures of light than the next stages, which gradually get darker and have more creatures of dar- aaaand I'm rambling.

In beta, water was available first, and then the next day (which wasn’t so long since the update was like,,,, right before reset) was earth, the day after was air, the day after was fire, which was bugged with a death loop before they fixed it enough to continue (? On that last part)

Aviary lead to that spot, and then there were quests that started from there. you could do 1 quest a day from several different launch points. so if you had done a quest that your friend hadn't... pressure to split up

it took me a few weeks to get enough people during belonging beta, but it was possible. probably because all the android testers were pretty active then SkyLOL

beta players don't know how long the season will last. our season is usually much shorter than in live. i would expect at least 2 months
