there are new waves with every season so make sure you get in every time and android is having problems installing the beta but it's a google issue and tgc can't really do anything about it. although i've been seeing more and more android testers joining us the past 2 days.

#beta-bugs-ios or #beta-bugs-android react to the flame at the bottom and you'll get a dm. you have 10 mins to give answers to each question asked

just scroll down to the bottom of those channels and react to sky bot’s latest post. keep in mind tho: there is a timer so roughly each question has 10-15 min to complete, before it times out. And there’s some word count limits, like 500-800 depending on section.

I've found out that if you exit the fire trial after meditating at the dragon shrine without going back to central cave you glow permanently even after you continue and finish the meditation, however it's removed after restarting the app

The wedges UI is completed and will scale up past 10. We know what the cape pattern for 11+ stars will be, it has not yet been implemented.

i seem to remember you still being able to see some shadows and details on your sky kid with the glow spell, while shiny mode pretty much has you like a "featureless white-yellow silhouette" if that conveys the right image

I liked how the enchantment spirits were still tied to the different realms like past seasons were even though they were all in one area, It's easier to remember where the candles are when theyre in the same area too

From what ive seen (second hand) in past seasons they changed the area a little to accommodate the spirit, like im pretty sure the butterflies in graveyard were for the respect rhythm spirit, and the crab roast was for the dont go spirit, so it wouldnt be that bad or crowded i think ?

I like the update they made to the earth trial — the rotation cubes rotate nicer this time... for example, one would rotate and the other would have a flat edge showing up for you to jump onto

Bruh. I think the Air trials need to be nerfed. The second version is fine, but i actually had to cheese the last few jumps because the auto flying mode shift. Plus you can get to the last platform with the first jump it just takes some cheesing
Air trials are by far the most annoying trial.

I made a simple map of the fire trial back when it was all blocky, and it was pretty helpful just for reference for things like bug reports and such (for example I could count lanterns on the map so I could more clearly specify which had the potential for death loops)
Also it’s a form of documenting my experience with the testing process

Yes it is. I actually love going solo in Fire, helps to memorize the routes better. My best solo time is around 15 minutes but could take up to 30 minutes on circumstances

Google play is suuuuper slow with updates sometimes. The update came this morning about 4-5am my time (eastern time). I've seen updates take a long as 48 hours before though someone suggested earlier try force closing Google play and clear cache then restart the app

I don't think the trials need to be scaled like that. They are just different trials with different elements working against you. But currently, they are unbalanced when compared with each other.

I dont think they would be as fun balanced. They are trials, tests that strengthen everything you need to understand to get to Eden. But keeping in mind that most players who are playing the Trials have beaten Eden a couple times, i feel like they need to scale with difficulty for the fact that you need to complete one to get to the others.

I feel that the trials fail if we can't use our skills in them. Unless the purpose is to show how we got the skills in a historical re-enactment type of experience? But I don't understand how that would add anything to the whole Sky gameplay.

I did. I sat down beside them and watched them play all trials, taking notes and asking questions. Then I compiled what they said and sent it into feedback. Even if there are this young beta testers, I think they might not take the time to write feedback or be able to articulate properly what is "wrong"/not working.

They had no problem understanding how the trials worked; it was more the mechanics that they felt were not intuitive or skill based. And this is coming from someone who is excellent at platforming in Mario and Roblox games.

kiki, that's an interesting suggestion, but I don't think Sky is capable of providing too many personal options for gameplay, unfortunately. Being a mobile game, the engine is probably limiting what they can do.

That sounds like a cool idea, but is it actually feasible to do something like that? They would have to make multiple versions of each trial to accommodate different servers... and I'm not sure how the wl would work at the end.
I do like having different difficulty settings though. But I don't think tgc could do that for this season

TGC designer mentioned about they are willing to add a harder difficulty for multiplayers on fire trial, maybe we can imagine when we bring friends to activate it and run it solo

@hollow compass Yeah fair enough, Just wanted to share my opinion too that with enough practice it isn't really luck based at all. With that said though I certainly see where they're coming from. I get the feeling these trials might just not be for everyone although I'm sure some will love them.

If they're looking for tips I'd recommend they try to land on the non boost platforms after activation. Then time jumping on the boost just right while facing the right way.

I was truly amazed that they didn't lose their cool. I would have quit (and have done so!) after 10 tries.
But Earth trial, which I struggle with a lot, wasn't too difficult for them. So it's not all bad.
@late mountain Oh, believe me, they tried all types of landings on various platforms. And got really close to the end. I think the main problem is that the candle platforms don't give you any time to think, you're just sent off in some random direction depending on which way you are facing. (ETA= edit to add)

in terms of landing on slippery platforms while flying, ive found that switching from glide flight mode to hover mode last second helps buffer and gain more control.

Also for depth perception I'll admit there was a single platform that threw me first time through. I didn't think it was nearly as close as it was, now I can just remember it though. It plays tricks on my eyes.
As for depth perception practice the bullseye lantern can be used while flying to have a ground light showing your position, i found it quite helpful to glide over GW and just get a light to show where my character was in the air that i could then translate into air trial.
Hmm, I'm not sure you understood? Each candle platform has one or two normal platforms right before it. By landing on the normal platform you have time to think then jump to boost only when you're ready for launch.

For the boost candle platforms too I light all the candles but the top of the arrow first and only when facing the right way do I light the final candle to boost, helps with direction ^^

Yes, one-handed was the original control mode and I just never grew out of it. Mainly because it's more relaxing on my hands; I don't have to hold the phone at all, just let it lie on a table and flick the screen.

Not sure why its shooting the wrong way, bug perhaps? It worked fine for me. Also be sure to aim for the right side of the island, the left part has a wind wall.

I meant that because you already lit the candles, you can't pause on the boost islands to get the right direction/aim. Once you jump onto them you're just sent off.

Ah, yeah best way to aim once they are lit is jumping from the nearest island while facing the right direction I found. I'm sure there's other ways too though.

I think Samuel might have just missed it or gone over the top The left side of the platform itself is fine but there a windy patch in there somewhere on the left before you reach it. I just found the right to be generally safer. Also man great job chaining all those platforms!

I totally agree with the last part being hard for one hand mode in air. The only way i could mange it, was rotating the camera before i jumped the on the first candle rocket spot. Otherwise it was impossible to follow the direction of these candle plattforms with the camera and without that i couldnt see and control where will i land next.

I think I found a way to cheese the fire trial. I learned that the fire trial has no ceilings. I can place my camera top-down and navigate pretty easily. I can see candles and predict the eyes' movement and see over walls

@desert mango here's the explanation, I had the same question. I read it wrong thinking they meant you could buy seasonal hearts or something not from the top of the spirit tree but make much more sense they was just talking about this recent bug.

the only issue with sanctuary was the spirits being nonexistant during the cutscenes and us staring at whatever that was in the back ground prophecy introduced lots of new stuff and we got bonked with lots of bugs.

No, it's just like for rhythm skin tone and even regular skin tone, looks much lighter in the light (and as such you see difference in color very clearly). Since home space during the day and prairie are really bright, you see the difference very well there

Just done fire trial solo as usual and it was quite easy to be honest...not a challenge anymore .. I really dont know if its got easier or ive got better ,, it really is a hard one to judge
That being said -it was so much fun and i enjoyed it alot .. I mean i was literrally skipping about 10 candles with the confidance i had... 10/10 gameplay 3/10 difficulty 10/10 reflection from screen of my face was annoying 😂😂

No, all IAP in beta is free. But you can also learn about that, if you read the #beta-faq 😉

if you were to actually buy something, it would ask you for confirmation. but everything is free in beta (for testing purposes), so you don’t need to confirm the purchase

Yeah, but is super hard, there is no clear path, everything is PITCH BLACK, u get out of the light for a second and you die, u stand too long in the light and you die...
Yesterday night I got into a point where there seemed to be multiple posible paths and none of those paths leaded anywhere...

There are some candles that go astray so you can dodge drills à little I believe. In that area, look from birds eye pov, it makes it easier to see the path and the shadows (after having lit candles :') )

I think the earth trial could be so much more of a maze... the main dificulty in that trial is jumping from platform to platform wich is kinda the deal in the air trial.... the maze would be so much better if narrower hallways and more posible paths so u get lost... and not so much jumping on plataforms...
I even found parts of the maze that u cannot really access by just walking that are empty, so they didn't even use all the space avaliable on the maze... 😦

as for the update notes- I believe they should be updated/become more detailed when Ktjn gets around to updating them today. They released the build around midnight where TGC is located, so I would assume she didn’t have time to write anything, as we didn’t get a ping for the update just yet.
